notes on the text: three women. three choices. three fates. three forces: the head, the heart, & the hunger. everything in this book is about hunger — not just for blood; but for connection, meaning, the lengths one can (& will) go to, to avoid being afraid or alone — about finding & losing what it means to be human. this story gnaws at you, nips at your heels the more time you spend with it: because how do you become a monster? how you do unbecome human? when does the face in the mirror become unrecognizable? v.e schwab manages to write about women in a way that very few can — horrific & heartbreaking at the same time; viscerally, violently, viciously vulnerable: women whose love is like a lash against flesh. it's the season of the vampyre – & you will be seared through.

most memorable quote: "the fact is, whether death takes you all at once, or steals pieces over time, in the end there is no such thing as immortality. some of us just die slower than the rest."

notes on the text: love. labor. loneliness. the death of the american dream. the dignity & despair of the working class. the inherited pain of immigrants. you think hard work will save you, but it doesn't. it doesn't make you any less broken, it doesn't take your ghosts away — maybe it just helps you see the ghosts in other people better. it's exhaustion & effort & putting all your innocence away in boxes & what does that leave?& through it all you try & offer yourself and other people what little grace you can. what little grace you have left. because what else can you do?

notes on the text: is love surrender or survival? what does it mean to be fundamentally broken in body and soul and still intend to love like it's your first day on earth? are you choosing love because it's something you want or something you need? at what point does one person start & the other person end in a relationship? is it self-preservation or an effacing of the self?

I'm reallyyy excited about your new ryu shioh story!!! I think I didn't fully grasp when you mentioned wtpr but I understood it now as I just started reading it and my mind actually went 😵‍💫😵‍💫 I loved the show minus the last few episodes. I can't believe there's going to be an actual story combining my two favourites so thank you 😍

Also I wanted to ask and I hope it's okay to ask 🥺 you know the story you had started after "the heart holds more" (I'm really sorry i can't remember the title now) do you think you might go back to it? Because I was looking forward to that one as well and it's okay if you're not! I'm still really excited about "i would burn the world" and can't wait to see how it goes 😊😊

thank you so much for your interest in my work; it means the world to me! WTPR had some solid chemistry & a gripping storyline but the ending truly was abysmal. i'm hoping to fix that in this iteration of the story with shi-oh & nira.

& as for the new lovely runner 'fic i was planning to write: unfortunately right now i just don't have the time to juggle two stories. i've started working full-time & have a very draining schedule! but i am very touched that you remembered my writing so kindly & wish to see more of it.
