How resistent are your angels?

Could a human gun hurt them

Or only magic stuff?

Anything can be used to hurt them as long as they are on the same plane of existence but I should probably elaborate on that- to preface this is a big major element of my world building I've had since for a decade now so buckle up.

In my story, there are several 'planes of existence' that make up a universe. Earth, and well everything we are physically aware of and can touch/see is the Physical Realm (P.R), aka the tangible zone where spiritual,dream, liminal influence is minimal.

The opposite of the P.R is the Plane of Pure-Existence where everything that cannot exist within the physical resides. It's where angels, demons, souls, ghosts, deities, entities, Heaven+Hell is and has several 'levels' of separation from the P.R.

The closer a layer is to the P.R, the more effect the souls (angels, demons, etc) inhabiting that layer can have on it. For example:

Layer one: A soul can possess a tangible body, move some physical igniting flammable material, conjure tangible elemental threats, communicate with tangible beings. (Think poltergeists)

Layer five: A soul can only communicate with faint elemental influences like a timely breeze.

Movement between the layers is very possible yet the more powerful/large an entity is, the more difficulty it has getting closer to the P.R. This is why guardian angels look the way they do so they are able to be close to humans with relative ease. It's also why The Admin isn't making frequent appearances to humans.

So I guess to answer your question: A human gun cannot harm an angel cause angels typically exist on an entirely different plane. But if they were in the P.R then yes a gun could be used against them. Though that then would beg the question if it would 'hurt' em or well...even inconvenience them

I have one in mind, as I've recently found a new arrhythmia, or more so condition that caused arrhythmias, that I've taken quite a liking to (its called sick sinus syndrome)

I want a resusee with a weak little heart, one that just barely flutters about, that wants to fade away into nothingness. I want them to just barely keep conscious, their faded eyes peeking through their lashes, watching me as I struggle to keep their heart going. I want to have to put my weight behind my sternum rubs as their eyes flutter shut, almost succumbing to their heart's continued struggle, earning small mewls and whines, the sight of a bared throat as they throw their head back in agony.

the rapid switches of their heart rate will blare alarms on the monitor, and I'll feel it as I hold my finger to their pulse point; their heart just barely lagging through bradycardia before stopping completely, throwing out a couple PVCS, before switching to tachycardia. I'll watch as their eyes shine with fear as they feel their heart struggle within their chest, their lip quivering softly, one hand weakly reaching for me while the other reaches for their aching chest.

I'll try and assure them that everything will be ok as they go through harsh flutter after flutter, as they cry out, as they beg for me to make it stop, but it'll be completely useless as the fear and pain gets to them, no sweet words or gentle kisses getting past it all, leaving them a wreck. their hands starting to scrabble at their chest as their heart throws more and more PVCS, risking disconnecting a lead or adding stress to their heart's already heavy load, so I'll have to bind their wrists to the gurney.

I want them to eventually lose consciousness as their blood pressure becomes unstable and their heart spends more time skipping than beating. I'll start beating it for them, ignoring the short, ineffective windows that it does beat on its own, and carrying on with compressions, relishing in their breathy cries as they float between hazy consciousness and complete unconsciousness.

as they get weaker and weaker, they'll stop trying to pull their own breaths even when I pause compressions to reassess their heart rhythm, and I'll have to lean over them, pressing my lips over theirs, filling their broken chest with my air over and over again until their lungs kickstart enough to pull in broken gasps.

I'll spend hours resuscitating someone whose body refuses to truly die, only taunting them with the agony of it. I'll fight their heart with drugs and shocks and compressions, trying to ease them through moments of tachycardia with hushed words, and urging them on with shallow compressions and sternum rubs when they get stuck in an unsteady bradycardia episode, until I finally win it over, getting it to at least stay in at least a stable bradycardia so I can pace it, filling my resusee with pain meds so they can finally rest after hours of going in and out, not knowing if they were truly alive or dead.

when they finally open their eyes, now free from a good portion of the pain and fear that once filled them, promising that its over, that they're safe now, that I was gonna keep my promise, I wouldn't let them go, pressing kisses to cold, sweaty skin and holding hands scratched raw from their hours spent in pain all the while.
