FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONS LEIA, FINALLY.

Having more "Leia and Obi-Wan throughout the series" thoughts ok. People talk about how the Kenobi show doesn't make sense bc Leia doesn't act like she knows him later. Like? She does though?
Her famous message is a professional diplomatic message, and it's actually really cool that now it echoes Bail's plea to Obi-Wan to come save Leia. Girl isn't going to say, "bestie help" here ok. But when Luke tells her he's there with Ben Kenobi and she gets So Excited???! Her beat up old wizard has come back to herrrrr.
But why doesn't Leia mention anything about Ben to Han and Luke? Well maybe it's because she was 10 when she saw him last, and probably the one thing Bail made sure she did remember was to keep Obi Wan's secret and she clearly doesn't trust Han not to sell them all out. And can you imagine all the jokes Han would crack about "I guess you always need rescuing, princess" if he knew that story? I wouldn't have brought it up either.
Why doesn't Leia mourn Obi-Wan? This woman just watched her entire home planet and everyone she knows and loves be wiped out and is holding it together. I think that rates higher than being sad about a man she hasn't seen in years. Maybe she comforts Luke bc she knows if she admits anything for herself now, the floodgates will burst and all that other loss will come pouring out and she'll lose it and she can't afford that. Maybe Bail taught her that stoicism. Or maybe she picked it up from a sad old jedi when he took time to comfort her when he knew he was likely going to his own death. So now I'm crying on the floor.
But did she ever talk about him with Luke (and others) later? Who's to say she didn't? Insert my new favorite headcanon that Luke off-handedly mentions the force ghosts of the jedi masters and Leia goes wide-eyed, "you can see Obi-Wan?" and so Luke teaches her how to use her force sensitivity and Obi-Wan is so happy to talk with her again. (Not to mention, talking with Anakin too.) And later on when she loses her son and her brother vanishes and her husband leaves, Leia Organa is not left alone.
Lastly. She named her son Ben.

I LOVED THIS MOMENT SO MUCH. I love Bail Organa so much because he always believed that they should keep fighting to make the galaxy better, that they had a duty to do so.  It reminds me so much of his visit to Toydaria in TCW, when he said that they shouldn’t let Ryloth suffer just because they wanted to remain neutral in the war.  It reminds me of when he told Obi-Wan to be done with the past, move on from it, that he needed to get over it and help find Leia. Bail Organa is one of the most compassionate and wise people in the GFFA and he relentlessly believed that they had a duty to help others, even when they were tired of fighting, even when they were sad, even when they had personally lost so much. You grieve, you breathe, you get back up, you have an obligation to help people, to fight against the evil that is harming and destroying people, and he understands Ahsoka’s pain, but he still tells her that she has the same duty as she has always had. Bail Organa is too good for any of us, this is why he fought for the Republic and fought to make it better, this is why he fought against the evil the Separatists were doing, this is why he fought against the Empire from the very first day, because they all had a duty to stand up and fight for others. And he’s right and I love that Ahsoka had someone like Bail Organa to help her find her feet again when she was ready. BAIL ORGANA MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE CENTER OF THE STORY BUT HE HAD THE KIND OF ROCK SOLID GOODNESS THAT HELPED SAVE THE GALAXY, TIME AND AGAIN.

How Do You Know? (Han Solo x Leia Organa)
Hanleia Week Day One: Tradition. Feat. Anakin Solo. @hanleiacelebration
Tumblr media
"I love you."
"I know."
"Why do you guys always say that?"
"Huh?" Han tried not to jump in surprise as he looked down at the budding adolescent beside him. His children had a nasty habit of being able to hide their presence until it was too late.
Young Anakin's nose crinkled. "Why do you always say 'I know' whenever the other one says 'I love you'? Aren't you supposed to say 'I love you' back?"
Han couldn't help the lopsided grin that tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Do you want to tell him, Princess?" he asked.
Leia laughed softly, haloed in the blue light of her hologram, "It's a bit of a tradition at this point. We said it to each other once, and now it's just natural."
"But doesn't it sound kind of... Smug?" Anakin asked. He'd always had trouble with social norms and expectations. Han squeezed his baby boy's shoulder in reassurance.
"Your father is smug, honey," Leia explained in the same reassuring tone.
"Your mother's not off the hook either," Han insisted.
"How did it start?" Anakin asked, "Were you fighting, or...?"
"All the time."
"Han!"
"Your mother and I had been kidnapped by Darth Vader, the bait in a trap for Uncle Luke. They were going to freeze me in carbonite, which they usually just use for storing tibanna gas to ship out to other planets. The carbon freeze is great for preserving the gas and fuel, but they didn't know if it would kill me or not."
"But it didn't!" Anakin said quickly, his face pale and eyes wide.
"It didn't," Han reassured him, "But it was pretty scary. And that was the first time your mom told me that she loved me."
"In front of Grandpa?"
"Darth Vader is not your grandfather," Leia said in her no-nonsense tone, the one that still made Han's head spin.
Anakin looked thoughtful, "So when Mom said that she loved you, you just said 'I know'?"
"Okay, well it sounds bad when you put it like that-" He looked to Leia on the holo, hoping she would back him up.
Leia's hologram was smiling, that ice-melting, full body smile that must have been a Skywalker trait, her chin propped in her hand as she watched Han flounder.
"Wanna help me out here?"
"No, I think you got it, hotshot. Why did you say 'I know'?"
Han realized he had never really thought about it before. In the heat of the moment, in front of Vader, Fett, and half a platoon of stormtroopers, it just felt right. But why?
"Your mom's pretty tough, Nik," He said at last, "A senator, a princess, a general, she had to be. Back then, after everything that happened to her, she hated letting anyone get under her skin."
"Even you?" They were his parents, of course Anakin wouldn't be able to imagine a situation where they hated each other.
"Especially him," Leia grinned, "He was the worst."
"So when I told her 'I know', it was a way for me to tell her that I understood that she loved me, but also that I understood who she was as a person. That I knew how big it was that she told me this in front of people that hated us, and that I knew she would move the stars in order to save me."
Anakin was quiet now, deep in thought over this confession. Han glanced back at Leia, and caught a glimpse of her trying to wipe away her tears. He could hear Threepio in the background somewhere, asking if she required a handkerchief, but Leia dismissed him.
"Did you ever tell her you loved her back?" Anakin asked.
"Absolutely," Han beamed at his son. "When we were destroying the Death Star on Endor, she got shot protecting me. When I tried to help her, some stormtroopers cornered us and I thought it was all over. I'd have done anything to protect your mom then and there, but before I could do anything, Mom showed me that she was still holding her blaster. Since the stormtroopers didn't see it, she could take them by surprise.
"I knew I loved your mom before then, but that reminder of how strong she was, how smart she was, I was a goner."
"That's when he told me he loved me." Leia said. She sounded like a giddy schoolgirl rather than the chief of State, her chin propped up in her hands as she listened to Han talk about how much he loved her.
"And you told him that you knew?" Anakin asked.
"Yes, I knew. And I still know." Leia said.
Anakin's brow crinkled again, "When was the first time you told me that you loved me?" he asked the hologram of his mother.
"Oh, Anakin, I told you that I loved you before you were born," Leia said. Anakin's face grew red and shy, but he was the one who asked.
"Alright, Mom's gotta go now, kiddo, say goodbye."
"Bye, Mom!" Anakin waved to the hologram, and was quickly distracted by the puzzle games on his holo pad once again, leaving Han alone with his wife. Finally.
"I love you sweetheart. More than you know."
"Well I don't know about that," Leia teased. She blew a kiss through the holo.
"I'll see you tonight."
"Don't be late, I'm making grilled nuna and mashed potatoes."
Leia sighed, "I'm so glad I had babies with you."
Han couldn't stop a cocky grin, "I know."

Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU pt.3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pt.1 | Pt.2 | Pt.4
Welcome to part 3 of my madness as I continue to take inspiration from scenes in the movie. This is when Din get's a full view of Luke's scars (and is caught looking) not long after the drift compatibility tryouts. He still doesn't know of their origins, but he might find out soon 👀👀👀 (More info under the cut if you're interested).
Anyways, hope my insanity entertains y'all! There's still plenty more to come and perhaps even more in the works.
P.S. All the love that this idea has been shown has been a great motivator for me to work on the fic. So thank you to everyone who's interacted with these posts and have shown their interest. Glad to know I'm not alone in being interested in a niche ship and a 10 year old movie crossover.
More info about Luke's Scars: It starts with part of the timeline I've formulated.
2027 - Luke becomes a pilot with Biggs.
January, 2028 - Death of Paz; Birth of Grogu; Din leaves the Jaeger program
August, 2028 - Death of Biggs; Luke is injured;
2029 - Leia becomes a pilot and is Luke's new partner
So, essentially Luke joined the program very young (17) while Leia was still studying politics with the Organas. Biggs was Luke's drift partner and they piloted together for a year.
The destruction of Razor Crest and the death of Paz/disappearance of Din marked the turning point for the Jaeger program. Not long after that incident the Jaegers were struggling to fight back against the onslaught of Kaiju. More frequent attacks along with higher category Kaiju started to wear them thin.
In a particularly dicey situation, Luke and Biggs were deployed on their own to deal with a CATIII Kaiju while backup was on the way. Despite how skilled the two were, the Kaiju overwhelmed them before backup could come and their Con Pod was ripped from their Jaeger. The damage caused an energy serge through the pilot suits causing Luke to get his scars. Those injuries, plus the ones from getting tossed onto shore, also resulted in Bigg's death.
After hearing about this, and while Luke was recovering. Leia decided to join the program and began her training. By the time Luke was recovered she was graduating cadet school and they were able to pilot together. It took some time for Luke to get used to piloting again after being connected to someone who died, but he trained himself to feel the serenity in the drift and keep those memories at bay. Luke's control while in the drift is next to no one except maybe Anakin, but he hasn't piloted in a long time, so it's hard to say.
Speaking of Anakin, he isn't supper happy about his children being pilots, but there wasn't much he could do to dissuade them. After Padme's death during a Kaiju attack, and Anakin subsequently blaming himself for it, he threw himself into the program. He wasn't able to raise the twins because he was on duty so they were raised by Owen and Beru as well as mentored by the Organas (mostly Leia).
Leia is resentful of Anakin for leaving them when they were so young and had just lost their mother. Luke mostly blames himself in an unreasonable way and thinks he wasn't worth enough for Anakin to stick around. The reason Anakin did leave was so he could try to stop the Kaiju and make the world safe for his kids. However, in the process, he may have lost the time he could have had with them.

Thinking about how hard the "Star Wars" prequel films dropped the ball in terms of female representation. Like, looking back on the original trilogy, it kind of sucks that the only main female character is Leia, and while Leia does kick ass and I love her, it also sucks that the last film 1) put her in that bikini and 2) abruptly made her Luke's twin but didn't let her have a lightsaber or use a lot of the cool space magic powers.
When you only have one female character, she often ends up bearing the unintended burden of a lot of hopes and expectations of fans. She's just one person. She's never going to be compelling to everyone.
And then you have the prequels and you'd hope that they'd do a little better with male-female ratios this time? With experience? But the only main female character is Padmé, who's pretty fun, but also ends up 1) desperately in love with a murderer, 2) spending most of the last movie barefoot and pregnant, staring out a window, because they cut the "founding of the Rebellion" plotline, and 3) dying not because she was Force-choked but because she has "lost the will to live" because "fuck them kids", I guess.
(I know there's theories about Sidious siphoning her life force or what the fuck ever, but I don't caaaaare, because I hate the idea that Sidious has that kind of reach for no fucking reason and also it's not actually IN the movies! It doesn't count!)
The Nubian handmaidens are a cool concept, but they're all background characters, who barely get named. We don't get to actually see them and Padmé do a lot of on-screen work together. She doesn't get to confide in them regarding her love or her fears. She speaks to her guard captain more onscreen than her handmaidens.
And while we do see female members of the Jedi Order in the films, they're ALSO all background characters, like Jocasta Nu and Aayla Secura and Yaddle. As opposed to more active Jedi characters like Qui-Gon Jinn or Mace Windu. Like, damn, the prequels are the perfect opportunity to introduce and show off even a female Jedi supporting character, and they just did not do that. That sucks. The careless absence of women in this universe sucks. The careless absence of women as significant characters in these films sucks.
Every other piece of additional material for "Star Wars" has to move to patch this. The "Jedi Apprentice" and "Jedi Quest" novels strive to add and name female agemates and mentors. "The Clone Wars" television shows add Ahsoka as a protagonist and Ventress as a villain and a whole bunch of new female characters.
Yes, given that these are prequels, there are some characters who are not really realistically changeable. (Yes, trans people exist, obviously, that would be very cool; not sure that "Star Wars" was going to go for that back in 1999.) Obi-Wan. Anakin. Yoda. The Emperor. Unnamed Sad Mother of Luke and Leia. You need those ones. EVERYTHING ELSE was up for whatever they wanted to do.
So, anyway, I'm currently thinking about characters you could potentially genderbend without affecting the story pretty much at all. Qui-Gon, obviously. Mace Windu, as well. I think fandom would then hate both of these characters even more then, unfortunately, because fandom is what it is. Whatever legitimate criticisms levied at both of these imperfect characters would have increased tenfold, I am certain of it. But we're talking about the prequels's badly executed stories, not fandom's misogyny. (And misogynoir. A black woman as the leader of the Jedi Order when it was destroyed by the Sith? Fandom would have been even more of a fucking nightmare.) It would suck that they both die, but the prequels are a tragedy anyway, so, eh.
Bail's role in the prequels could have potentially been played by Breha Organa instead. Although, I don't know how well the Extended Universe novels had extended Leia's backstory by that point in time, maybe Bail had already been established as the Senator and Breha as Queen, so maybe not. At the very least, you could have had Mon Mothma in there doing his superspy stuff with him or something. Padmé's guard captain could have been a woman.
Both Darth Maul and Count Dooku could have been women. Yes, they're both evil, and yes, they both die, so it's not perfect on the representation front. But it's something, especially if you balance that out with some good characters, and look, I can't coherently complete this thought, I keep getting distracted by the mental image of hot evil Sith ladies. I think a female Count Dooku would have kicked ass, honestly, as much as I enjoy Christopher Lee in the role.
My main goal with this thought exercise is purely upping the number of plot-relevant female characters, pointing out that it wouldn't have been hard to add more women without changing all that much if anyone involved had actually bothered to think about that.
The original trilogy only mentioned "The Clone Wars", so the clone army didn't all need to be copies of Jango Fett. There could have potentially been a half-dozen genetic donors, with the Kaminoans creating different clone soldiers for different purposes. Some of them could have been clones of women. (I hold the unpleasant headcanon that the clone soldiers are all sterile (or functionally sterile, incompatible with unmodified humans) anyway, because the Kaminoans don't want clients to be able to "steal" their work.) And the clones are actually a fairly minor role in the films themselves, admittedly, not given any more development than any of the droids (it's the show that does the work), but again, it's still something more.

lady ren
Tumblr media
summary: you're kylo ren's wife. the resistance thinks he's taking advantage of you, but little do they know... warnings: reader goes by she/her pronouns, short reader, major character death, no y/n use, reader was a jedi, kylo ren is a warning himself.
(my works are diverse to all races and ethnic backgrounds, as a mixed race girlie i feel yall's pain my fellow poc's)
a/n: i've been gone far to long, but i've discovered the beauty called kylo ren. also he looks so hot in that gif.... love dat emo space daddy.
When Rey first saw you, you were on Jakku. Surrounded by The Knights of Ren, you looked tiny, your arm latched onto Kylo's waist as he towered over you, looking brooding in his mask. You had vanished shortly after, but Rey had gotten a glance at you. Beautiful. Shiny hair, glowing skin. But not...evil. You didn't look like you belonged with the First Order. In fact, you gave off an aura somewhat like a Jedi.
Little did they know... you had been. You and Kylo were both trained under Luke Skywalker to become Jedi, and had become close friends, although Skywalker had tried to split you up. The darkness in Ben had slowly grown into you, and the night that Luke tried to kill him was the breaking point. You had ran and joined the First Order. At first you kept mostly to yourself. Following Ben- now Kylo, wherever he went. As he slowly gained respect in the First Order, and caught attention of Supreme Leader Snoke, so did you. You were both praised for leaving the Jedi, and soon people became afraid of Kylo... but they might as well have been more scared of you.
You were quiet, but you were also funny, even in the gravest of situations, which was somewhat disconcerting. Although you usually listened, rather than talked, when you did have something to say, everyone listened. Not to mention the fact that you bested some of the First Order's most prized soldiers. You were Kylo's closest confidant, his only friend, and the only one who could calm him down (especially when he decided to wreak havoc on some poor lab tech's control panel.)
It was no surprise when he asked for your hand in marriage, and you got engaged. Kylo wanted the wedding to be perfect, waiting to become officially married until you could both return to his home planet, Chandrila. But there was much to do before that.
Rey told Leia and Han of their son's mysterious mistress. The beautiful woman, standing in the heat of Jakku. Of course, they were shocked, at the mere thought of their son having... anyone. But intead of elation, as a mother might usually feel for a son, General Organa felt worry. She had no idea who this woman was, if her son was using her, or if it could be the other way around.
Han had been worried too. But it was his nature to be more curious. So when he first saw you, watching from a bridge above, guarded by two of The Knights of Ren, he had to wave, and you waved right on back. You tapped the ring on your finger and smiled, doing a little dance. But wherever you were, Kylo was always nearby, and as you watched Kylo storm onto the bridge to see his father, you grimaced and pointed at the flurry of darkness.
Rey and Finn watched you, perplexed, as to how someone could take the entire situation so lightly. "Who does she think she is?" Finn had asked, slightly annoyed. "I don't know" Rey replied simply, watching intently as Kylo approached his father, and you leaned over the railing slightly smiling.
Kylo turned back to look up at you, just before approaching his Han, and you audibly giggled. Rey had scoffed. Rey and Finn's eyes bounced between the scene unfolding before them, with you, talking quietly to the two knights, Ushar and Vircrul, and Kylo and Han, seemingly... rekindling?
And finally... Kylo took his helmet off. It dropped to the ground. He quickly looked at you, and you winked, biting your lip. Vircrul probably snorted (but he would never admit it.) And just as Kylo was about to shockingly give his lightsaber to his father...
Rey and Finn watched in horror as the lightsaber went through Hans. They were both frozen in shock, and looking up, expecting you to see the same. But you weren't terrified. You weren't even shocked. You simply smiled down on Kylo, and made your way down to see him. As Han's body fell of the bridge, you squealed in delight. You picked up Kylo's mask, rose up on your tippy toes to give him a kiss on the nose, and simply placed his helmet on his head again.
As Rey rushed to escape, followed by Chewie and Finn, she thought she couldn't have been more wrong about the Lady Ren.

Small talk
Fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You found it, sir?” You asked him, your husband nodded and you smirked ever so slightly.
Everyone looked at him in shock, waiting for orders.
“Me and general L/N will go out to the base. Along with your squad for backup, just in case. He looked at one of the squad leaders, they all nodded.
“I am expecting general leia organa to be there as well, so be aware. Me and L/N will be going in by ourselves, and you stay outside, unless I say otherwise. Got it?”
The squad going with nodded along, following orders and beginning to prepare to leave.
You followed Ben to his personal ship, and he led the squad to the base.
“Kylo. Since your moms gonna-“
“I told you, I don’t want to talk about it. We are going to go in there, storm the base, and kill everyone in it.”
You sighed, a small sliver of you wished that you could meet his mom.
You grew up in the dark side, practicing and training since birth practically. Ben was 23 when you met him, when he became Kylo Ren.
Quickly, you both became friends. He took a liking to you for months, not saying anything until you said something first.
And now, you were about 3 years married, 3 years you both had dated.
You stood up when you had landed, he stared down at the helmet in his lap, thumb moving up and down on it as it stared back in his eyes.
You looked at him, putting a hand on his shoulder and a soft smile, giving him a quick kiss.
He stood up, putting on his mask and you both walked out.
He pulled out his saber, ignoring the many alarms. You pulled out your own. Men came rushing towards you both with guns and such, trying to shoot you both.
You blocked them with the sabers, stabbing whoever dared to do such things with it smoothly and quickly.
Kylo knew you could defend yourself, but he felt rage at whoever tried to do that. Shoot for him, not her! Idiots. He thought, as he sliced through the resistance members.
The doors started to close, you both glanced at each other and knew what to do.
———-
“How’d they find us?” Her voice was anxious, as she walked through the base.
“We don’t know. We think that someone is spying for them.”
“And it’s Ben and who?”
“The girl is known as Y/n Ren. They’re married. Apparently she’s some powerful general, no one talks about her because they’re scared. Of her and K- Ben.”
Her eyes widened at that. “Married? I have daughter in law? Guess I was never invited.” She mumbled, looking at the camera footage of you and Kylo slicing through the doors.
“Get everyone off of here. Now.”
The boy nodded, taking off and going to get everyone off.
She stayed, standing and waiting. Once everyone was off, she put up all the doors around the base.
“Ben.” She said, standing in front of him now.
You followed behind him, you threw your lightsaber up and down, and twirled it around. He gave you a glare, and looked back at the woman in front of him.
You stared at her now, and she looked back at you.
“Guessing you’re Y/n.”
“Don’t talk to her.” He said, voice threatening and modulated.
“Sure am. Guessing you’re-“
“That’s enough.” He said sternly, he didn’t want the small talk.
“What do you want, Ben?”
“It’s Kylo.”
“Take off your mask, Ben.”
He sighed, and did so.
“You were always busy. At meetings or stupid things. I hated it. God, I hated it. I was lonely, and it wasn’t until I found the dark side, until I found her that I wasn’t lonely.” He circled around her like prey, and she followed him around. His guard was up as always.
You watched the whole thing, in awe of him.
“You left me alone, it’s your fault. Everything is your fault.” He pointed the red lightsaber at her, tears welled in her eyes as she looked at his son.
“It was you.” He pointed it at her again, stopping his tracks. He stood in front of her, and stepped over to her.

𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐨 || 𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐧 𝐱 𝐅𝐞𝐦!𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
Tumblr media
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲_ in the middle of a ripple in the force, the girl Ben Solo accidentally cursed turns out to be the princess that Kylo Ren desperately hunts.
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬_ age gap (I’m 20, so reader too) Kylo was 29 in TFA as far as I know, fem reader, angst and I think that’s it.
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞_ my Adam Driver era is beyond over, it happened in 2020 and were done. But I somehow ended up coming back to Kylo. I wrote this with bad blood remix (TV’s), so yeah… silly little me.
______________________________________________________________
All of Ben Solo’s past was long forgotten. Until he saw two girls in his dreams. A very young dirty girl in the desert. And a lookalike princess.
The dessert girl made him feel a pull to the light. The princess made him want to be a better general for the First Order, to give in everything to the dark side.
And so the time passed. Kylo Ren became stronger, and he was able to see the princess’ shadow. He had never seen her face, or so he thought. This young woman was delicate as a feather, she was gentle, all felt through a blurred vision.
He wished he could talk to her. She made him close his eyes and peacefully rest for the night. So he started trying to find her. Kylo Ren visited every galaxy to see if any of the princesses remaining alive was the girl of his dreams. But he failed continuously, and also his knights.
He just wanted to know her. He wanted to see why she made him feel safe.
You let the older’s woman fingers braid your hair. She finishes by scattering some little flowers across your braided hair and smiles at your reflection in the mirror.
“And done.” She says smiling.
“I highly appreciate it, Leia” You reciprocate the smile and stand up.
“I’ll let you finish getting ready, but don’t take too long. You know I hate having late people for briefings” you nod.
“I’m always on time, just let me…” you start wandering around your room, until Leia calls you, and you see her placing your mother’s crown in your head.
“Now you’re ready.”
I’m not a princess anymore.
“Wear it for her. For your loved ones… as a sign of respect” Leia says, maybe you were thinking too loud. You didn’t like being called princess, but most of the resistance did. General Organa could see herself reflected in you. A young princess that lost too.
“I miss them a great deal” you admit. It had been four years. The First Order destroyed your home planet. And you were the only survivor as General Leia Organa saved you.
“I miss her too. But that’s why you have to keep wearing the crown. As long as you remember them, they live” Your eyes water, Leia squeezed your hand in assurance.
“The force will always allow you to keep them close”
“Thank you. For everything…” she nods, smiling again, before leaving you alone.
You touch the crown. Looking at the tiny details. It was simple, undercover and very elegant after all. It was subtle, yet… it made you feel… weird.
The air changes. What felt like a warm sunny day, starts feeling like a cold cloudy dusk. You frown, looking away from the mirror. When you turn, you see a man in black robes, already looking at you, through a mask. The man of your dreams and visions. You stopped breathing, literally.
He was Kylo Ren. The Commander of the First Order. Master of the Knights of Ren. A Jedi killer…
“Who are you?” He asks, modulated and heavy voice that makes you freeze. Allowing yourself to feel scared.
Leia was right. He didn’t know about you. He didn’t remember you.
“Nobody” you answer.
“You’re a princess certainly.”
“I was one…”
“There’s still a crown on your head, Are you force sensitive?” You remain quiet, swearing to be hearing your heartbeats through your head and ears. He sounded calm, but very intimidating. Which made you feel goosebumps.
“No.”
“The force connected us then… Why?” there’s an idea of what was happening in your head. But he wasn’t able to understand it. He just knew you had to be important, if you weren’t doing it by yourself, the force picked you for something big.
“You know who I am.” He speaks again, giving a step closer, making you go backward. He noticed it.
“Everyone knows who you are.” The air feels suffocating. Your room seems to feel smaller, as the man projected inside of it was very big.
“Then you know I will find you.”
“I know.” You try to sound calm, which seems to unsettle him. You pretended very well.
“And you won’t do anything?”
“I’ll wait till that day to think about doing something” he wants to chuckle. But he can’t because he’s anxiously trying to pry more about you. He doesn’t know where you are, how old are you, who you are.
At the same time, both of you were shocked to finally face each other. After months of hearing and watching faded silhouettes of each other. It was rare…
“You should be afraid of me.” He added, walking even closer, being able to smell your perfume. He was now infatuated, totally obsessed with the idea of finding you. You felt it, which angered you. So you took your fear away and stepped further, facing his creepy mask closer.
“I won’t be scared the day you find me, Ren”
And the connection broke.
The sun was back again. The birds could be heard again. You touched your chest, as you felt in panic. You almost ran to the briefing room, praying that time would pass faster so you could have a word with Leia.
About why the force had connected you with his son.
Poe scratched the back of his head with his free hand. He was caressing his food tray as he approached the dining room and saw you gossiping with Connix, your best friend.
“I’m telling I don’t know. He just-“
Poe touched you and it made you jump scared. Connix let out a little startled yelp and the pilot started laughing.
“What are you talking about that has you all concentrated?” he took a seat in front of you and the girl beside you. Noticing neither of you had finished the food.
“Can you two finish your food? I don’t want any sick friend again” You started eating in silence, under the desperate look of Connix, who was practically begging you to tell Poe.
“This morning the force connected y/n with Kylo Ren” You rolled your eyes at Connix. Poe dropped his fork and looked at you in horror.
“WHAT?”
“Uh… yes, she’s right” you confirm to Poe, who looks beyond shocked.
“But.. Why?”
“I have my theories, but it doesn’t make sense” Your friends nod. And you just want to forget about the whole issue.
“He’s your space soulmate and the force wants to get you two together” You start laughing at Connix’s terrible joke and gently push her. Poe didn’t laugh.
“Connix, don’t joke about it. What if he wants to hurt her? What if he indeed wants to get together with y/n and worsens the war?” He’s right though. You sigh, focusing on your food instead.
“I need to be prepared. We’ll see each other eventually. I just feel it. But today… is all about you, my dear Poe. You and BB-8 must go and get that map. We need it…” everyone nods.
“Promise me you’ll be careful. The First Order has spies everywhere. One bad move, and they’ll be with you” Poe nods, knowing his colonel best friend was very meticulous about missions, especially when her friends were involved.
“I’ll be careful, princess y/n” You frown, and both Connix and Poe start laughing.
“I extremely hope so, Dameron”
The rest of the dinner flows fine. But you fear, about Kylo Ren discovering who you were before time.
Missing. That’s the only word in your head, knowing that BB-8 and Poe were missing was getting on your nerves. But Leia assured you to sleep and let her handle it. Uncomfortable, you went to bed against your own will, staring at the ceiling, questioning why it had to be such a long and weird day.
By the time you fell asleep, Poe woke up. Realizing he was at some First Order cruiser, Kylo Ren was looking at him. Poe sighed, knowing that he would likely end up hurt again.
Ren acknowledged him as the best pilot of the Resistance. Great to start.
“You have seen the map”
“And you have seen the girl,” Ren assured.
“What girl?” As soon as the pilot asked, he unveiled everything. Your connection with Ren, what you told him before talking about the mission. He accidentally gave Ren all the answers.
The map was with the droid and the girl was with the Resistance.
“Princess y/n of the fallen kingdom of Karyn and Colonel of the Resistance” Kylo Ren proudly said your name and titles. He smiled under the mask.
How he could have forgotten about Karyn and how they refused to be involved in the war. He never realized the daughters of the kings survived.
“NO!… DON’T YOU DARE TO HURT HER!” Poe yelled, trying to break the cuffs hurting him.
“I won’t, pilot. You can rest knowing that I won't hurt her” and with that, he left the cell. Only causing great pain for Poe, feeling guilty.
When Ren walked away, and when he turned to some hallway, he spotted you. He froze, there you were looking at the giant window, looking at the stars. You must be at the secret base of the resistance, but to him, you were with him. You turned, encountering him as if Kylo Ren was at the entrance of your balcony. He saw your dark blue dress and silver crown, you saw his hideous mask again.
“What have you done with my friend?” You ask.
“That rebel scum? To your luck, he is in a cell, alive.” You know he’s telling the truth.
“You must have what you need, let him go” For the first time, you noticed your height barely brushed his shoulders, he was massive, making you incapable of feeling some fear.
“I can’t, he’s a prisoner of the First Order.” You roll your eyes.
“LET HIM GO!” You yell, trying to keep calm, or else he will discover one of your little secrets.
“Don’t worry, soon or later you’ll join him. And it will be an honor to have you in my ship, Princess y/n of Karyn” you mentally cursed. He had one clue, he had opened the door to know everything to you. And he knew that you stuttered, being unable to talk. By the look on your face, he knew you were scared. And he liked it.
“Get out of my head.” And somehow, you broke the connection.
But under all the fear, you had one doubt. You wanted to know how he looked under that mask after all those years.
You needed to hear Poe, so as you fly with the Resistance to Takodana, you call him. You hadn’t seen him since he returned. BB-8 would be happy to see his friend there. It had been rough days. Your connection with Ren hadn’t happened again. But you constantly saw him trying to kill you along his knights in the desert. You brush away the frightening memory, hearing your dear friend calling you.
“Colonel Princess y/n, here is Poe Dameron. Permission to lead the division?” You smile widely.
“Permission granted, Dameron. Now don’t get into more trouble, I need you by my side after this?” He chuckles after some exchange of words, and he starts doing his job. You love how Poe loved to fly. He had to teach you how to fly a ship yet, but for now, you loved when he offered rides.
Your good thoughts soon are over. You turn to Leia, who’s already thinking the same as him.
“He’s here,” you say and she nods.
“Hide yourself as long as you can. But do not hide your ability to fight.” You nod, hiding your weapon in your belt, under your cape.
You join the fight and you can get rid of many stormtroopers. You see BB-8, Chewie, surprisingly Han Solo, and another boy fighting together and you want to run towards them. But a stormtrooper shoots at you. And while you were able to avoid him, others came out of nowhere. He hit your head and you almost fainted. You touched your head, hand covered in blood. Your vision was blurred and you felt how the troopers kicked you and picked you up, towards their ship.
You were too disoriented to do something, to fight. And yet, you felt him. You saw Kylo Ren carrying another woman. And when he looked at you, he left the girl and kneeled in front of you. Inspecting your wounds. You could hear his heavy breathing. But you refused to look at him.
“I said to bring me the princess, not to injure her” You keep looking at the floor, watching as some blood drops fall against the cold floor. His gloved hand caressed your temple and sent you to complete darkness, losing consciousness.
When you open your eyes, you are shocked to see Kylo Ren without his mask. You wanted to tear up, but you harshly refused.
“I cleaned your wounds”
“How gentle of you.” You speak, feeling your throat extremely dry.
“You must be something else. I can see anything, you are hiding your memories from me”
“Maybe you’re just not as good as you thought you were.” He makes an expression that you take as an extremely brief smile.
“Maybe you’re lying to me. Who are you, princess y/n?” He asks stepping closer. You can see his clean face with moles like you. His brown eyes and dark hair. You turn your head away from him. But he places his gloved hand on your chin, stopping you from squirming away.
“All I know is that Karyn fell years ago. Because it was one of my first missions as commander, I gave permission to attack. I remember seeing how the planet came to ashes” You turn to face him in shock, anger in your face.
“MONSTER!” You cry out in anger at his face. He killed your home, your people, your family, and your legacy.
“Let go of that, it would happen anyway. Karyn was a strong kingdom that wanted to remain isolated from the war” You let yourself cry a little.
“I assume it was Organa who saved you” You look at him with resentment, hate, and horror.
“But why you? You must be able to wield the force. You just don’t know yet. You’re being slower than the scavenger”
“So now I’m a prisoner?” Ren frowns before gently shaking his head.
“No, of course not. You’re my special guest. I'm taking you to Supreme Leader Snoke.” He said, inches away from your face. His proximity was making you even more angered rather than uncomfortable, so you looked at him deeply in his eyes. And you felt something as well as him. But both of you ignored it.
“Sir, your presence is urgently required at the command center” Two stormtroopers appeared at the door of the cell. You remained silent and the man rolled his eyes. He gave you one last look and left with the soldiers.
Maybe the mighty Kylo Ren had underestimated you because you could feel your weapon in your belt. And in less than a minute, you were out of the cell. You start moving away, and suddenly you collide in the chest of someone. Another girl, the scavenger.
“You are princess y/n,” she says excitedly. You knew she was force-sensitive, so she must’ve escaped from her cell too.
“And you must be the scavenger”
“I’m Rey. And need to get going. Han, Chewie and Finn are here. Let’s go!” She takes your hand and starts guiding you.
“Who’s Finn?” You didn't know him.
“Oh, you’ll like him. He has helped a lot” You only nodded.
“Did Ren went to see you?” Rey asks you.
“He did.”
“I can feel your connection with him. It’s weird, like you had met him before” You stop abruptly.
“I met him. He ruined my childhood” Rey is about to ask more, but she is interrupted by Finn and his friends.
“Han Solo, Chewie!” You greeted the man that you constantly saw as a kid, the Wookiee that played with you. For some minutes, you felt secure, even happy.
The first thing Kylo Ren saw after killing his father, was your face. You looked shocked, saddened, and enraged. You were with the scavenger and the traitor looking at what he did.
He felt your pain and in his rage, he felt even worse, he was desperate to know why the pain you felt as Han Solo died felt too personal. Like you had met him before.
Finn, Rey and you started running towards the snowy forest. You took advantage to start the Falcon and get out of there, Chewie let you know it was ready, but you heard their screams. Your friends must’ve been intercepted. So you knew it was over, Kylo Ren would know your secret, but you had to save your friends. You never asked to be a hero, but you had to act like one to succeed. You remember Karyn thought light and darkness were both the same. They were perfectly balanced and there was no beliefs on the Jedi or Sith.
You fight for them. Because they weren’t able to do so. You fight to keep being free.
Giving firm steps into the snow, they turn to look at you. Rey smiles briefly and Ren seems confused. But you take your weapon out, and you let your green lightsaber join the red of Ren and the blue of Rey.
Both seem shocked. But it takes a twist when you walk forward, giving the first attack. Kylo was taken aback by the sudden violence, but he concentred about giving a clean fight. He starts attacking back, but it seems to be more difficult for him, as it is two against one. Your ways of executing the lightsaber mixed a lot of techniques, which made it harder for Kylo to predict your next move.
Finn was heavily injured, so you tried to get close to him to help him. But it wasn’t easy.
“You and I. We’re connected, you know it.” Kylo says out of breath. Your saber collides with his, and you put all of strength to push him away.
“I can help you become more powerful” you frown. You don’t need that.
“I don’t care about power. I want to keep my freedom” you let your intrusive thoughts win. You remember what he did to you.
“You almost killed me once. Don’t you remember, Ben Solo?” In his sudden weakness at the mention of that name, Rey comes in and attacks too, you feel him get inside your head and the scavenger slides the saber against his face. You gasp in shock, almost dropping your saber.
“NO!” You scream, thinking he died. But you see him moving. And Rey is shocked to see how you rushed to his side.
You kneel beside him, only to see an awfull wound across his face, he seems to be lost, probably half unconscious. His face is sweaty and you sigh relieved to see he was alive. The moment feels soft, and he sees some memory that strongly appeared in your head. He closes his eyes and feels you.
The connection. You hated him, but you didn’t want him to die.
Kylo Ren sees himself as a seventeen-year-old student in Luke’s temple. When he was still Ben Solo. He was training with his friend Weenie, they didn’t agree sometimes, which led to heavy training sessions. The blonde padawan fought so hard, and Ben reciprocated. Without even noticing it, they moved around the area where the youngest kids were training. He was furious, Weenie said having bad dreams constantly leads to darkness. He was about to hit Weenie with his blue lightsaber when the blonde moved. Ben Solo heard a little girl cry, and when he saw, there was a girl at his feet, her padawan robes covered in blood and sliced open. His saber had burned her back and cut the top of her long hair and she was unconscious.
The little kids ran towards her. All of them yelled, “Y/N WAS HURT!” “BEN SOLO HURT Y/N! “TELL MASTER SKYWALKER!”
She was eight years old. He never knew who she was.
But when Kylo Ren opened his eyes, he saw the young girl. He couldn’t believe you were that girl. He had so many questions.
You caressed his swollen cheek and leaned to whisper in his ear.
“You took everything away from me. My Jedi training, my home, my family, my future.” He gulped, his hand landed on your hip, and he felt like he couldn’t breathe. You stopped him.
“Being with the Resistance feels correct. But I don’t believe in the light or darkness anymore”
“I will see you lose this war, Kylo Ren. And you’ll feel what I did over the years” The hand on his cheeks pushed him further into the snow. And when he tried to stand up, you pulled his hair and crushed his skull again.
Rey took you away, running to take Finn and get out as the First Order base was about to disappear in lava.
But you couldn’t ignore the strange feeling in your stomach. You despise him. You were over the scars he left in your back. You try to forget about Karyn, your family. But you were extremely far away from forgiving Kylo Ren for destroying it.
Nonetheless, Kylo Ren didn't want to let you go and you didn't want to leave him alone.
And you knew it wasn't over. It had only started.

Inspired by some recent posts: What are your thoughts on people shipping Bulma and Goku?
Oh, my feelings on that ship are complicated.
I actually used to like that ship when I was younger. I've always been a fan of ships between characters who genuinely enjoy each other's company and work together to solve problems with minimal friction. When I was growing up, the go-to for canon ship writing was tension. Two characters are in tension with one another until they admit their true feelings and fall in love.
You could see it in anime with ships like Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo who absolutely, violently hate each other's guts 98% of the time but then occasionally are sweet together so you know they're really deeply in love. Japan loved tsundere romances back in the day. They were everywhere.
And you could see it in Western media like Han Solo and Leia Organa, where Han behaves as an aggressive sexual predator despite Leia's clear rebukes of his advances and it's supposed to be romantic because she's secretly in love with him the whole time.
80's and 90's Hollywood was all about women "playing hard to get". The cultural idea was that "No" means "Keep asking, big boy; I love it when you push my boundaries." Decades later it turned out a lot of people in Hollywood were sexual predators. Imagine that.
And I never really liked any of it. I wanted to see romances between characters who love and cherish each other, and make each other stronger through their mutual connection. I didn't want shows full of Shinji and Asuka romances, I wanted shows full of Frodo and Samwise romances.
This, I think, is why a lot of same-sex ships took off back in the day too; Heroes, especially male heroes, love nobody half as much as they love the best friend who fights by their side. They'll dump their girlfriends on the side of the road to go gallivanting off on a new adventure but they are ride-or-die for their bestie.
And I just. I couldn't help but look at that dynamic and ask, "How come the ride-or-die bestie that the hero's forever loyal to and whose emotional bond takes up half the story, isn't the love interest?" So, like a lot of people, I start shipping those dynamics over the canon ships.
Goku and Bulma aren't really ride-or-die besties. I mean, on Bulma's side, they are. But Goku's the kind of person who goes no contact with everyone for five years without notice and then shows up like "Hey guys, check out this cool technique I learned." Not out of malice or anything; That's just how he is. It's a special event any time you even get to see him. He has no ride-or-die bestie. He lives entirely in the moment.
But back in the day, when I didn't really know Goku or Bulma that well beyond what the dub was doing with Z, they seemed like they fit that mold. And I was about it.
These days, I have a much firmer grasp on the characters and I cannot imagine any version of a Goku and Bulma relationship that wouldn't feel skeevy and predatory on Bulma's part.
With Chi-Chi, there's the context that Chi-Chi's as much of a dimwitted naive backwoods hick as Goku is, so they mutually dumbassed themselves into a domestic situation neither truly understood. Bulma doesn't have that defense. She's cunning, well-educated, and extremely socially aware.
If Bulma and Goku had gotten together instead of Chi-Chi and Goku, it would have felt like Bulma taking advantage of Goku's naivety; Especially when that's literally something she tried to do the first day they ever met.
If Goku were a character that was more socially aware and, y'know, actually interested in romance at all, that would be a different story. But as it is, for both the integrity of the characters and their fantastic relationship with one another? I do think it's probably best that Goku was already spoken for before he became hot enough for Bulma to start considering him as a Himbo Arm-Candy upgrade from Yamcha. (Which she briefly did.)

What Disney princesses/characters would the Volturi turn and who would be leftover dessert?
Those gifted or with a personality that rendered them useful.
(For the sake of not having a too long post I'll just use the princesses I know decently well.)
Anna (Frozen) is very sweet and charismatic, though a poor judge of character and prone to rash decisions. She has no gifts. Aro feeds her to his guards*.
Ariel (Ariel) gave away her mermaid tail to pursue a man she barely knew. Aro bitterly mourns Ursula, who might actually have been useful to him, and is left to weigh the benefits of establishing diplomatic relations with Ariel's father. Ariel, already a part of the supernatural world, is not killed either way but she may become a bargaining chip.
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) is blessed with enhanced beauty and an enthralling singing voice that works on humans and animals alike. If attacked, she and everyone nearby as well as her physical surroundings fall into an enchanted slumber that can't be disturbed until the danger has passed. Excellent defence mechanism: Aro recruits her.
Belle (The Beauty and the Beast) has a wonderful personality and likes books. Aro feeds her to his guards.
Cinderella (Cinderella) has a wonderful personality and an even more wonderful fairy godmother. Aro threatens her in the hopes of making the godmother come to her aid, and once she does he tries to recruit the godmother. Cinderella lives for as long as Aro needs a bargaining chip.
Elsa (Frozen) can create and control ice, though Elsa is prone to emotional outbursts and losing control. Aro recruits her, but keeps a close watch on her for the first few years in case she turns out to be a liability.
Mulan (Mulan) is an able soldier who understands duty and loyalty. People like her will always be useful to a man like Aro. Aro recruits her.
Rapunzel's power came from a flower, and it's a power she appears to have lost. A healing vampire could be immensely useful however, so Aro turns her and she gets a grace period where he tests her rigorously. Let us hope she retained some of that flower power.
Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves) is blessed with beauty that frankly sounds vampiric. The huntsman defies his orders for her, the dwarves protect her, animals obey her, and the prince falls in love from sight alone. Aro recruits her.
Bonus: Leia Organa (Star Wars**) has the Force. Aro recruits her.
*If Elsa is in the room, Aro may decide to spare Anna so he doesn't alienate Elsa. However, sparing couples in this sense does not seem to be Aro's modus operandi, whenever he encounters a gifted coven member he seems to spare that member only. Most likely, Elsa is told Anna was returned home and the reason she can't see her is because Aro would hate for her to lose control and kill her own sister. And look at that, Anna died in an accident shortly afterwards. Definitely can't see her now.
** As the Star Wars IP is now owned by Disney and Leia is the princess of Alderaan through her adoptive parents and the daughter of a former queen, I say she passes muster for a Disney Princess.
A few final thoughts:
Of all the princesses listed, I think Aurora and Leia are without doubt the most interesting to Aro. Aurora covers everything Snow White can do and would render Volterra virtually untouchable, while Leia could theoretically do anything at all.

May the Force be with you.
Star Wars Men and Women celebrating Star Wars Day with you
Tumblr media
Characters: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ben Kenobi), Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Leia Organa, Luke SKywalker, Han Solo, Rey, Poe Dameron, Finn, Kylo Ren(Ben Solo)
Taglist: @akela
The Prequels
Obi-Wan Kenobi
This man is so sweet, he's confused why there's a singular day to celebrate The Force in your universe but he's all for it. He considers today to be a special occasion and thus uses the force today for the tiny things.
Anakin Skywalker
He's roaming the day in his robes, (the only time he wears them) and he uses the force as he normally does, but this time it's mostly for you. He's got his arms around you and casually floating this around you and for you. He doesn't take today to celebrate the force, he takes today to celebrate you.
Padme Amidala
She doesn't have the force but takes today to celebrate her life, like another life day. She's here to dance around with you and has a grip on your hips.
The Originals
Luke Skywalker
Luke's still young and yet he's got a huge grip on the force, just like his father but he doesn't use the force for silly things like floating things for you unless you expressly ask him for it. He's glad to spend today with you.
Leia Organa
She's a princess, not a Jedi. She can't do that force stuff like her brother can, but she's glad to spend a day with you and be yours without any diplomatic stuff.
Han Solo
He doesn't get it really, he just knows today's a day to celebrate him and who he is. He's secretly excited that in some universe, there's a day to celebrate what he's done to the universe as a sexy man. (yes, he's seen the edits)
The Sequels
Rey
She doesn't call herself a Jedi, even after everything she's gone through, she's just Rey but she loves to spend a day with you celebrating her universe. She feels like she's accomplished something other than saving her universe. She's glad to spend a day with you, watch TV, and drink wine.
Poe Dameron
THIS MAN FLIRTS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF TODAY! He's all like "A day just for me??" even when you explain it's not just for him. He gets serious though when he realizes that your universe marketed off the things that happened in his. (Google, execute Order 66) He wants to watch the movies with you though; seeing the past might be fun.
Finn
He's more of a "Can we not talk about what happened?" person when it comes to him realizing that your universe celebrates his universe for an entire day. (He wants all the Lego sets) He loves seeing the videos and stuff and doesn't want to watch the movies, so he'll watch the shows with you. (He likes Mando and thinks he and Poe would get along well)
Kylo Ren (Ben Solo)
He's very sweet, much like his grandfather, using the force to move things around for you. He wants to watch the movies, by the way. He then finds it creepy just how alike the actors are to how his family and enemies look like. (Oh baby don't go to Disney) and so he just sits and watches the Bloopers that come with the movies.

Headcanon: Leia has curly hair, she just doesn't know it.
It sounds dumb, but it does happen. People will think they just have really frizzy, hard to tame hair, only to find out years down the line that they've been taking care of it wrong.
The one time we see Leia with her hair down, in Endor, she has some soft waves, right? Now, these waves do not look like natural hair texture, but rather what straight hair typically looks like after being braided for several hours. Which makes sense. Leia's hair is always braided.
But what if it's not that? What if that's actually the look of very neglected natural curls? Is it not in character for Leia Organa, the girl who joined a rebellion at 16, who was a senator by 19, who was physically and mentally tortured and didn't even get to complain, who lost her family and everything she knew and immediately supressed her feelings because there was still a battle ahead, who still worried about the loss of a boy she'd just met, who constantly refused to let herself be loved, to neglect not only her human and emotional needs, but also her very body?
Yes, you could argue that she still dedicates the time to put up these fancy hairdos to begin with, but I'd argue back that those she's been doing since very little. They remind her of home — of course she'd want to continue doing them, especially now. They're all she has left of it.
How would Leia know how to take care of curls? Both Bail and Breha have pin straight hair.
In my own personal headcanon, Leia realizes in her mid twenties that her hair needs a different type of care and starts giving it it. In time, it becomes bright, soft and full of life.
And when she finds out through Obi-Wan that Padmé had curls as well, she starts to observe hers more. She's always used her hair as a way of honoring the home and family she had, but now she sees it too shows her ties with the home and family she could've had.
She still does her signature hairstyles. But she also lets it down, now.

Codywan week - day 5
I'm aware I'm late and I apologize for that, I didn't have much time for writing in the past few days and I'm only catching up now. I hope you still enjoy my story for day 5 of the @codywanweek. You can read it here, on Wattpad or on Ao3, whichever you prefere.
Prompt: original Kenobi series script, hurt / comfort, only one bed
A/N: Okay, so, for the record, I kinda forgot how exactly the Kenobi series is so I'll just make this up and you are going to pretend it actually lines up, thanks y'all for your definitely voluntary cooperation.
When Obi-Wan accepted Bail Organa's request and went looking for Leia, he didn't know he wasn't the only one looking for her. He should've expected it, Bail wasn't above sending more people just to be sure. Not when it was about his daughter.
It was a shock when he met his former commander, the man who betrayed him and shot him in the back during order 66. They met in the clone wars, their friendship grew in the clone wars and the thing that developed between them, whatever that was, ended with the clone wars.
They were allies now. Because when they were chasing after the same goal once again, it wouldn't make sense to compete. Obi-Wan firmly believed that Cody meant no danger to him now that his inhibitor chip was gone. That didn't mean it wasn't difficult to work with Cody again after everything that happened.
They still worked well together as a team. Even if the uncomfortable silence between action was the stark opposite of the pleasant moments they used to spend in silence during the war. Even if Obi-Wan's instincts still screamed at him whenever Cody pulled out his blaster.
Despite everything, they managed to complete the mission. They found Leia, escaped the inquisitor and Vader - okay, Obi-Wan was still recovering from that encounter but no one had to know that - and were just boarding the shuttle Bail sent them to get to Alderaan. How he managed to get an empty shuttle with clearance to their location will forever be a mystery for Obi-Wan.
"Yay, that's our ship!" Leia cheered as soon as they entered the ship. Obi-Wan wanted to answer something but the little demon of a child was gone before he could as much as open his mouth. "I'm going to my room!"
"Tubies," Cody muttered to himself. Back in the day, Obi-Wan would probably correct him, tell him that nat-born children weren't called tubies and that clone cadets probably shouldn't have been called that either. As it was, he just pretended he didn't hear. He wasn't sure Cody would still be up to a witty banter. The clone grew older over the years, thanks to the clones' accelerated aging, and with that he grew sadder and more serious, Obi-Wan could feel it in the force.
  "I will just-"
Before he could finish the sentence, Leia was already back. "There is a butterfly in my room," she announced.
"Is that a problem?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Yes. I don't like butterflies," Leia informed him. It was a little odd, most children hated spiders or worms, but what else was there to expect from a Skywalker, right?
"But butterflies are lovely," Cody tried to object. A huge mistake. Objecting to a Skywalker rarely ended well.
"No, they are not," Leia pouted. "Butterflies are ugly little monsters and I hate them."
"Do you want me to take it out?" Cody offered. He was doing his best to cover his amusement but wasn't entirely successful.
"Yes. Take it far, far away."
"Of course, ad'ika," Cody agreed easily and ruffled Leia's hair, earning an outraged huff from the girl, before he went to fulfill his task. Cody was nothing if not efficient and in a moment, the butterfly was gone.
"Thank you, Cody," Leia thanked because she was well raised. Obi-Wan was proud of her. She was going to make a great politician and diplomat one day, she inherited all the skills needed from Padmé.
"You are welcome, Leia. Will you be fine on your own now, or do you need something else."
"I'll be fine," Leia assured him before she jogged off again.
After that, nothing happened. And Obi-Wan meant literally nothing. He and Cody were just standing there, not saying anything. It was rather awkward. "Shall we take a look at the rest of the ship?"
"Yeah... Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Cody agreed.
They explored the ship, found the incredibly small cockpit, Leia's room - they didn't dare to enter -, bathroom, small kitchen and another bedroom. There was one room missing.
"Where is the other bedroom?" Cody asked but Obi-Wan could tell he already knew the answer.
"There is no other bedroom," Obi-Wan voiced it for them both. Of course there was no other bedroom. It was the Organas' personal shuttle, made for three people, Leia, Bail, and Breha, his wife. It explained the way Leia immediately labeled one of the rooms as hers. "It's fine, I will sleep in the cockpit."
"I'm not letting you sleep there, there's no room to sleep comfortably," Cody dismissed the idea.
"I'm afraid it will be necessary."
"You take the bed, I will sleep in the cockpit."
"You just said the cockpit was too small!" Obi-Wan argued.
"Well, then we will have to share," Cody blurted out. He didn't look ashamed but he did feel ashamed in the force. "I mean... We used to share sometimes. During the war."
It was true. They shared their bed sometimes, when they were planet side on a campaign and there weren't enough bunks, or when it was cold and sharing heat was the only way to stay warmer. But that's something that used to be. Before Cody shot him. People who shot at each other usually didn't share beds, Obi-Wan was sure of that. "It's okay, I will stay in the cockpit." It wasn't like Obi-Wan could possibly get a good sleep either way, he was too anxious with his former commander around.
"With all due respect, you need sleep too, general."
"I have the force, I will be fine."
"Ten years, general. Ten years and you are still the same self sacrificing di'kut. I guess it was too much to hope you got some self preservation instinct.
Now that was just insulting. But not in a bad way. Cody used the same annoyed but fond tone he used during the war when he had to convince Obi-Wan to take a break from paper work or to get something to eat. It felt like the good old times for a moment. And Obi-Wan knew that Cody wasn't going to budge until he got what he wanted. "Fine."
"I'm glad we found a solution convenient to both of us, general," Cody said. He had the audacity of smirking at Obi-Wan.
  "Not your general anymore."
"You will always be my general." Cody shrugged. It sounded like there was a deep meaning behind those words but Obi-Wan didn't have time to think about it. "I will get the shuttle flying."
Everything was fine for the entire duration of an hour and half. Until it was time to get some sleep. How was Obi-Wan supposed to sleep with someone who tried to kill him sleeping next to him, he didn't know.
"I suppose it's time to go to sleep," Cody voiced his thoughts. He started taking his armor off, piece by piece, following the same routine Obi-Wan saw him perform many, many times, until he was stripped down to his blacks. Obi-Wan removed the outer layer of his robes and his tunic but kept the rest of his clothes on. The shuttle should be relatively safe, with shields and alarm, but war has taught him to never be unprepared. And he wouldn't feel all that comfortable sleeping in just underwear with Cody there either.
"Where did you get those?" Cody asked. Obi-Wan had no idea what he was talking about. "The scars. They are new."
Right, it wasn't all that long ago that he fought Vader and almost burned in lava. Bacta could fix a lot of things but it had it's limits. "I fought Vader."
"Yes, I am aware. You just forgot to mention you almost died."
"Don't be dramatic! It's nothing serious."
Cody gave him his infamous unimpressed stare. "I'm not even going to ask you if it hurts because I know you are going to deny it. I will get you some pain meds."
  "That won't be-"
"Stop lying, Obi-Wan." Obi-Wan. The last time Cody has called him that was the faithful day on Utapau. "You know you don't have to lie to me."
Obi-Wan knew. Before Utapau. He wasn't so sure now.
Cody wasn't force sensitive. Yet he still seemed to pick on Obi-Wan's feelings. "I'm sorry you can't trust me anymore."
Maybe it was Cody's sad smile. Maybe it was the pain that radiated from Cody in the force. Maybe it was something entirely different. But it did the thing. Because no matter what, Obi-Wan couldn't bear to be the cause of Cody's pain and sorrow. "I trust you, Cody." Obi-Wan was surprised to realize that he actually meant it.
There were no words for the way Cody lit up in the force, like the gold sunbeams that used to decorate his armor. He repainted it, made it gray. Obi-Wan wasn't sure if the color was picked simply because Cody deemed it more appropriate or as a sign of mourning, because that was the meaning of gray in mandalorian culture. It wasn't the first time Obi-Wan wondered how Cody did it, how he escaped the empire, made peace with almost all of his brothers being gone. Obi-Wan lost everything too but he was a Jedi. Jedi were always prepared to let go.
Wordlessly, Cody passed Obi-Wan a pill he fished out of his med kit. Obi-Wan just hoped it wasn't a poison. Nothing in Cody suggested that he was trying to get rid of Obi-Wan but Obi-Wan was rarely sure nowadays.
"Let's go to sleep," Obi-Wan suggested. There was no reason to make it more awkward than it already was. He settled on the bed, as close to the edge as he dared. Cody did the same. This was just awkward.
"Good night," Cody whispered as he covered himself with a blanket.
  "Good night."
Obi-Wan couldn't sleep. He rarely could. Everytime he closed his eyes, he saw visions. Visions of the past, visions of how things could have been. What if he hadn't fucked up so bad with Anakin, what if he noticed that the chancellor's interest in the boy was starting to be suspicious, what if he fought more against Ahsoka being expelled from the order, what if, what if, what if, wha-
Cody put a hand around Obi-Wan's waist in his sleep. Obi-Wan's first reaction was panic. He tried to shuffle further away from Cody to which the other man grumbled unhappily and pulled Obi-Wan closer to him. The emotions were overwhelming in the beginning. Then Obi-Wan allowed himself to relax in Cody's arms. He closed his eyes again.
There were no nightmares. No memories. No visions. No what ifs. No. This time, the only thing Obi-Wan saw was the sun, warm and bright, just like the man besides him.
