this is for that one anon that asked for X-Virus having a crush on a girly reader
Reader (Y/N) uses she/her pronouns, if you'd like them changed to be more GN then lemme know!
Cody didn't experience crushes often, mainly due to the fact that no one shared his intense interest in chemistry and science as he did; so most people he met never made his heart beat faster in any way, or make him stumble on his words, or make his usually pale face don a lovely shade of vermillion.
Except, of course, when he met Y/N. Y/N loved to include herself in Cody's experiments, helping him make his many viruses; listening intently whenever Cody would go on a long tangent about whatever virus he was making.
Whenever Y/N was around him, it took him much more energy to focus on his work than her. He'd spend hours unknowingly staring at her, wondering how fluffy her hair or soft her skin would be under his calloused hands. He found himself smiling goofily whenever he'd think about her.
After a while, he found himself unable to think about anything other than Y/N. And no matter how much he'd want to ask her out, his anxiety would get the better of him and he'd chicken out. He wants nothing more than to cover Y/N in kisses.
The age old question of getting the elden ring dlc or baldurs gate while it's on sale...
I'd recommend Baldur's Gate 3 ! I didn't get absolutely down bad for that game as most others that played it, but I can say that it really satisfies the DnD itch if you're without a group. Or having your own OCs kiss each other with companion edit mods :}
The ER DLC I have mixed feelings on, but I think I'm in the minority that doesn't enjoy the new Scoobytree blessing system & find exploring huge chunks of grass plains daunting, so you might enjoy it a lot more than I did!
I saw the post about assen 2016 and Marc cutting the chicane and was wondering if Marc did that a lot to his competitors like the imitation of mind games. Cause I’ve always thought of Vale as the one who used the mind games more. Did Marc use mind games a lot and was just more subtle?
(assen '16)
if you're interested in reading more about marc marquez mind games, then boy do I have a post for you
anyway, I can't really think of anything that's all that similar to assen 2016 because that's such a specific situation... not every day that you have something as memorable and as easy to visibly imitate and as controversial as cutting the final chicane. of course, if we're talking about imitation, it's pretty hard to avoid mentioning how marc did infamously copy two out of valentino's three most well known career overtakes within half a year of joining the premier class, and was also pretty shameless about the whole thing. but at least there you can say it's all about the race situation marc happened to find himself in - and there will only have been so much premeditation possible with both incidents
more broadly speaking, then, targeted behaviour where he's trying to send a message to one of his competitors during non-race sessions... well, that's fairly common. he loves using non-race sessions to study and stalk and at times deliberately harass his competitors. I'll give a little more details on one specific incident here to demonstrate what I'm talking about. it's related to towing, as it so often is with marc, and I ended up only briefly mentioning it in the post linked above. for context, marc spent a fair bit of time in 2019 trying to mess with the rookie revelation fabio quartararo, sometimes during the races themselves and sometimes outside of them. nothing wrong with hazing your young challengers, right? so one of the more widely discussed incidents took place in sepang 2019 qualifying (tw crash):
big fan of how the article very strongly implies that when marc says the words "honestly speaking", he was not, in fact, honestly speaking. did a single person on this planet believe marc when he said he just happened to end up right behind fabio? who knows, maybe there's someone out there, who knows...
obviously, marc and his team weren't really trying to hide what they were doing, which makes it even funnier that marc just goes for this completely shameless 'oh it was all just a coincidence' routine. and of course, this entire episode ended on a pretty sour note for marc. even though he tried to shrug it off in the moment, this incident did come with consequences for him:
which, yeah. lot's to be said here, lots to be said. but let's return to the actual point of the post, the mind games
in the end marc did do a rather nice salvage job in the race, p11 to p2 - and fabio didn't win the race, which I'm sure was appreciated. here's a nicely in-depth description of the incident that I'm going to liberally steal excerpts from. it's a good bit of extra insight on both the episode itself and what it represented in the broader context of the dynamic between the pair of them
it's part of the established playbook when it comes to dealing with promising young talent: you try to rough them up in the races and you try to rough them up outside of them. you try to make them nervous, maybe you even try to scare them. and so the cycle continues
this is the thing, right, marc really does view all on-track sessions as time to 'work' on his rivals. he's never been focused solely on himself during these sessions - and the towing thing has never just been a matter of practicality for him. 'the race doesn't just happen on sunday' 'great riders, champions, are bullies' 'they don't just want to win, they want to rub the rest of the world's noses in it'... marc has always adopted that philosophy in his racing (and he learnt from the best). he's never been shy in his tactics of intimidation - in his efforts to undermine his rivals' confidence and make them suffer. it's all part of the game
and then, of course, there's the bit of insight we get about how marc was reportedly worried about fabio because of his talent and fearlessness... a rookie who hadn't even won a race yet. and yet marc's "been doing his best to instil fear" into fabio. unfortunately it's not always easy to spook young talent, especially when they're so very brave... it's a tricky line to toe - by marking out your rivals like that, you are also letting them implicitly know you see them as a threat. which if anything can help motivate them and make them more confident. inconvenient
anyway, l'll include some more of the description of the incident, which helps illustrate just how little effort marc was going to in attempting to hide his underhanded behaviour (and how that may have been the whole point):
inherently, right, this 'battle of nerves' is a really important element of the whole towing strategy. it's about your read of the other rider, your analysis of their character, how you think they will play the situation... how much you think they're willing to risk, how much you think they'd be motivated to just fuck you over regardless, how prepared they will be to call your bluff. and in the context of sepang 2019, with that year's title very much sealed up, marc decided that he was prepared to play this game for as long as he had to. marc had won the last five races, fabio was still searching for his first ever win... marc knew young and hungry fabio would blink before he did
which, yeah. less than ideal to engage in mind games in a way that ends up getting you injured. this whole incident does serve as a good illustration of marc's overall approach, but obviously this specific episode wasn't particularly successful or indeed wise from marc's side. all in all, it probably wasn't all that intimidating for fabio when marc crashed behind him
anyway, here's some more bits talking about how marc was perhaps not being 100% honest in his post-qualifying interview:
even though in this specific example marc did admittedly fuck it, a lot of this kind of behaviour isn't bad long-term investment because it's meant to be cumulative, where you're just consistently putting pressure on someone... as it says above, "every ounce of energy spent worrying about you is one which can't be spent on trying to go faster". so you're hoping to distract your opponents, you're hoping that this constant tension will eventually unsettle them - or that you've spent so much time studying and analysing them that you can figure out how to bother them more effectively (*coughs* 2008 *coughs again*). or maybe you just can't help yourself in messing with your opponents and sometimes it is counterproductive because you've shown them how seriously you take them as a rival. maybe sometimes it's a bit of all of those things!
on fabio's reaction:
which is a pretty friendly response, it has to be said! but anyway, of course 'if he wants to follow us we are doing a good job' is probably the most healthy and useful takeaway from the whole thing. that's the thing with bullies, isn't it, you do have to figure out a way to stand up to them. fabio might have been annoyed while marc was picking on him, but he's not picking a fight with marc after the fact. he's just making it clear that he's not been intimidated - and has bagged himself pole in the process while marc started from eleventh place. as fabio says, "it's a little bit part of the game". but it is a game, and it's one that marc has always been more than happy to play

The Dan household’s eldest daughter-in-law whose inner thoughts cannot be known. A four-dimensional character [...] was an opportunity given for me to transform as an actress: from feminine & cutesy image to a tsundere with unconventional material and futuristic style.

rating : gen, no major archive warnings i believe

disclaimer: i don't usually write stories so this is probably really bad im so sorry
additionally brain went no at the first prompt so my first ones an alt oof
i swear that these will get better.
...hopefully.
Player squinted at his phone, double checking that the address was right. He ignored that this was the fifth time he'd done this, and that it was most definitely the right address.
After all, it was probably best to make sure that the orphanage where your best friend found their mother was the right one, since, y’know…it’d be kind of awkward to just go up to a random lady and be like, “Hey, I know your daughter” and have her not know which one you were talking about.
He took a deep breath and smoothed his hair anxiously, still not ready to even ring the bell. He was possibly about to meet Carmen’s mom for the first time in the at least ten years he’d known Carmen, sue him.
A couple of kids in the yard looked at him weird. Player did his best to ignore them, still extremely nervous.
Finally, his shaking fingers rose to ring the doorbell. The sudden ding! of the doorbell sound made him wince.
A pretty woman with hair the color of the red-brown soil appeared at the doorway, her eyes crinkled.
“Hello. Who are you?” she asked.
Player fumbled for a second, then replied, “Uh, my name’s—---but you can call me Player. I’m…a friend of Carmen?”
“Oh! You must be the boy she talks about in her stories, then? How do you know her?” Carmen’s mother asked. While she seemed perfectly friendly, Player noticed the slightly hostile undertones in her voice. He approved. That wariness had probably kept her and Carmen safe when Carmen retired for a bit.
“We’re old friends. From her school days. Uh, but, I’m not part of VILE. Sorry,” Player said, automatically using his usual excuse before realizing that it would likely not go over well with whatever Carmen had told her mom.
Before either of them could say anything more, Carmen appeared behind her mother.
“Player!” she exclaimed, seemingly excited to see her old friend. Player put out a fist and the two fist-bumped.
“Didn’t expect to see you here, Red,” Player joked, and Carmen winked.
“Decided to go on vacation for a bit. You caught me a couple days before I was going to go meet Julia at her college, actually!” Julia had worked at ACME for a few more years before deciding that the siblings had it under control. Chief told her to do whatever made her happy, so she went back to being a professor. She was somewhat of an Oracle, helping out with cases from behind the screen.
“Come in, it’ll be better than standing out here,” Carmen urged, and Player smiled, stepping into the home that his best friend had found.
@playerappreciationweek i think this is how you do it? apologies in advance lol
also sorry i dont have ao3 so,,,hopefully this will do!!
ZHONGSCARA. FOR THE RANDOM PAIRING MEME........ THIS IS @zhongscara
hi user zhongscara i am finally making an attempt to release this from asks jail i hope this is at least a mediocre crumb
———
Scaramouche still cries in his sleep. Zhongli watches yet another teardrop roll gently down his cheek, and notes how the wet streak on his face glistens in the glow of the dim cor lapis nightlight. It softens Scaramouche’s edges, smooths out all that pointiness, that cutting ruthlessness in his eyes and figure. His cheeks are still somewhat flushed, peony blush lightly glazed on his face—the same color of his wanton lips, his eyeliner that he didn’t take off. It seems that he enjoyed earlier more than he’d let on… Well, Zhongli will make a note of that for next time. For now—he carefully wipes away the half-dried tear stain, trails his long, graceful fingers along Scaramouche’s cheek, down his collarbone, across the perfect lines of his body. Hm. He’s exceedingly pretty like this, even without his acidic tongue and mercury-quick mind. Zhongli smiles.
“Sleep well, gentle breeze."

notes: had another snippet idea that maybe i'll add later bc idk how to write yeah also idk how sex works if this is bad then 🧍♀️ also ty for answering the nickname ask <3 this was partially what it was for (风眠(处?)is sooo cute..) oh also i kinda fuck hard w scara pottery motifs idk if that matters but i tried adding some in. dk how well it worked
edit: actually this snippet idea would be a lot longer than i think i'd be willing to stick with. and i don't have enough of a grasp on these two to feel confident doing it either, so i'll just drop it here. anyways the concept is scara's puppet body and him and zhongli and kintsugi (and the gold lines work bc it's zhongli, mr. mora and cor lapis eyes) and breaking and patching him together (probably 50% through sex, but also through like talking and shit). 10k words, spans their initial meeting until they like properly get together, canon or modern au. at some point it's gotta include zhongli bending scara in half and also actual physical punishment. would be very metaphoric and touches on scara's bodily ""imperfections""
Now let me start off by saying that all the gals I've spent time with over the years have been special in their own way, but the type I'm really into are someone lookin' to have some fun!
Looks don't matter much to me if they're a blast to be with! I mean I do appreciate a beautiful lady once in a while but I'm all about the fun! A gal who can be as playful as me and with a never-endin' supply of love and appreciation for yours truly. A gal I can hold and hug and kiss all over, and I can cuddle and sleep with and feel loved... A gal that can give me all the attention I want and satisfy me!
Boy, wouldn't it be nice if I could find someone like that?
one of the worst things i have ever done in the name of art is decide that the final monologue would be in poorly written dutch and then have to translate that into English and then decide how you’re going to display this bc its way too much dutch for the little footnotes you have been including when a character does use a dutch word but also you also like,, need to translate this into english so now you have an appendix and that's way too fancy but it's still in Dutch and you still need to put it in English and it's not even hard Dutch like its basic yet your head hurts still looking at it even though you know what you did and what you wrote and words are hard and you simultaniously know and don't know and this long ramble is exactly how your brain was operating at the time so yay. me.
To the anon who sent me an ask telling me to not be a part of a fandom (that I've been a part of for months and just not spoken publically until recently) because I "remind them of a friend they used to have", please consider the following:
Mind your own buisness
Fuck off
And it if really pisses you off so bad get a new interest or something ♡ I do as I please
Eijiro Kirishima for the Character ask game maybe?
Oooo honestly its been a LONG time since I’ve ever had any thoughts about my hero I see them pop up now and again more as a “oh hey that show i liked in high school” so i’ll do my best but brain bank is kinda expired when it comes to my hero characters so thoughts are a little stale:
• One aspect about Kiri that I remember really loving has definitely gotta be his sheer determination to better himself. It was really inspiring and I saw a lot of myself in him in the sense that I wanted to be able to better myself the way he did, and, in a way I did after all these years, so I thank him for that.
• one aspect I wish more people understood about Kiri is a little hard cause he was such an open book of a character, and a lot of fanon does interpret him pretty correctly so I dont have much to say here (my memory has also faded significantly of thigs involving him, like an old froend from high school that you dont talk to anymore cause you’re just two very different people now)
• some headcanons I have for Kiri are definitely that he’s transgender as all hell, also that hes gay, very mlm loving dumbass, but thats about it.
• one character I always Loved seeing him interact with was obviously bakugou. Just something about how they could understand each other so easily and how their quirks were perfect for interacting with each other made me really like their entire dynamic, and leading into the next question I really wish Kiri and bakugou had more time to interact in more serious settings rather than just constant gags.
Lastly, headcanons that involve kiri with another character, I cant remember if I ever had any, But i think Him and Mina are both Trans and kinda had a “same hat!” Moment in middle school towards each other
