based on an idea @username8746489 had where sylvie discovered nightmare fuel for the first time on accident while getting bullied by some older kids (and pushing him further into social isolation now that he's known as "that scary kid who could summon someone's worst fear")
#♦️charlie's art#epithet erased#sylvester ashling#sylvie ashling#ok i have a lot to yap about here hold on#this was a challenge to make since i was imagining it with no dialogue and limited colors i hope i pulled it off#because of those two things something i had to think a lot about was how the color progression changes the mood#I wasn't originally gonna add that last panel with the aftermath but un suggested the idea of the bullies being vague shadowy figures#initially until sylvie realizes what he did and is forced to see that “that was a real person with their own fears and insecurities”#so then they're drawn more detailed#sylvie and the bullies also aren't in the same panels together until the last one because he's just so below them that he isnt worthy of#sharing equal space with them. these kids are highschoolers. if sylvie wants to look at them he'll always have to look up#and also because i was struggling with their height difference#i hope the second page doesn't make it look too much like sylvie summoned a fire 😭 it kinda helps with the mood but what he summoned is#supposed to be ambiguous and i dont want it to look like i was born yesterday and think nightmare fuel ONLY summone fire#but its hard to make it NOT look like fire when i can only work with orange#the lineart starts out clean and gets messier as the conflict progresses to represent a lack of control#and also it creates kind of a shakey/unstable effect which emphasizes sylvie's fear#also unintentional but i think the second page having detailed shading emphasizes the mood changes. this just got SERIOUS#oh also i used the mizu5 untrained as a color reference thats fun#ALSO SYLVIE DIDN'T KILL ANYONE im just realizing the one curled up in the last panel could be interpreted that way#that's not what i was going for#this might be unrealistic...... but we also know so little about sylvie's backstory that who's to say for sure IDK LET ME MAKE MY FAV SUFFER

Since he and Scott are confirmed to be meant to be seen as similar to one another#so much so that even their first and last names rhyme#last thing I'll add tho is that while Wallace and Lisa are very similar even personality wise#the one big difference is that despite that whole conclusion on vol4 of Scott not cheating on Ramona with Lisa because he loves her#the writers apparently think it would be “organically correct” for him to have an affair with wallace LMAO#but I guess we shouldn't be surprised since Wallace and Ramona are both in the front of the official valentines art which is clearly#a deptiction of Scotts wet dream or smth (oh and you could also argue that Wallace and Lisa parallel on that art since they're both#shirtless with white socks.. which could be a reference to how lisa wears skimpy clothes for Scott and Wallace often only wears boxers#to like sexually frustrate Scott for fun or smth

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance#khddd#symphony of sorcery#scenery#my gif#i originally planned on splitting this set in two and wanted to create separate posts for both sides of this world#but i was surprised that i struggled with that and many of my shots didn't feel distinct enough when i put them all together#dunno how i messed that up so bad since this world has so much going for it#so i had to scrap a good chunk of what i made but i actually think it looks better this way so maybe it's not such a bad thing#sora's side is on the left (except for the last gif) and riku's is on the right#it gives you a better feel for how varied and different these magical realms are#and yeah that's what they're called#anyways i'm so glad this world exists because it's so experimental and different#everything from the visuals to the music and how sora and riku's battle sounds are instead replaced by more music#as if they're composing it themselves#which of course ties into how they must find and collect their sound ideas#it's all so incredible and works perfectly for a game centering around dreams#i hope we can see more unique worlds like it in future games too

stop a/starion has a BRAND NEW SIM AVAILABLE ON MODTHESIMS FOR THE SI/MS 2
#for those unaware E/A decided that we suffered enough and let us buy reformatted editions of og si/ms and si/ms 2#which for bitches like me who STILL prefers ts2's gameplay over t/s3 and 4's gameplay (but likes a lot of the other#parts of those two more like the added diversity and everything which t/s2 does lack bc it was last updated in 2008)#in t/s2 it was still clearly a passion project whereas in t/s3 like halfway through the packs you could tell they stopped caring#t/s3 still had the storyline element tho that t/s4 just doesnt#but t/s2's lore is so!!!#the s/ims r/esource has once again proven itself a disappointment bc ppl last made content in like 2013 which is like still good for a game#again last updated in 2008 but yknow#and then made impossible to play so E/A released the whole collection for free after breaking the original buy and now even that doesnt wor#i had to reprogram the entire game last time i tried playing it which is why the price of the not even really a remaster#all they did was update the gameplay so it works on modern pcs (mostly)#which is worth it to me bc im not a great programmer and do not have the time to reprogram a game for three days to play it#and it was my favorite it honestly still is my favorite thing in the world is#playing v/eronaville and ruining shakespeare by making r/omeo and t/ybalt enemies to l/overs and having j/uliet take revenge w m/ercutio#only to get w p/uck its a whole thing but anyways im im so happy at least the m/od the s/ims community never abandoned me#bc t/sr certainly tf did. tumbs seems to have quite a bit of cc too which is so!!!#when my harddrive w all my old gifs and stuff broke i also lost all the CC i made all my meshes and everything#and unfortunately they did not bring body shop back like i wanted i doubt they will so i do not know how to make meshes without it#making custom sims is gonna be a fucking bitch without it actually bc bodyshop is my favorite thing its way way better than ts4's maker#i ust im so happy. also annoyed by the lack of body shop but so happy. i know a lot of ppl are pissed they're charging for it but its worth#it to me. and people are making si/ms 2 machinima again which is also a favorite thing. most of the old ones do NOT hold up anymore#anyways how do i bully E/A into bringing back b/ody s/hop i'll even pay for it at this point make it work for all four games#or at least 2-4 like#i honestly dont play 3 much im a 2 girlie and have been w 4 off and on bc i love it but the lacking is so clear as#someone whos been there since the start yknow but#asidjiasdifbeiadpisadhasidhasipdaspodhifoeajcapsdjsa#out.

All that sillyness aside, I listen to way too much music (my usual playlist is +1,300 songs) of way too many different genres and i am happy to share them with anyone and everyone!! Gonna try and limit this to 10~ish songs for now, since otherwise I will end up with a list 100 songs long lol. MOSSY'S COOL MUSIC RECS
DRIVING MY LOVE - Anri GOSH her entire TIMELY!! album is amazing, but this is the song that's been sticking in my mind the most lately. Citypop is a very fun genre of music that came about in Japan in the 70's, and Anri had (to me) some of the most fun songs in the genre :>
New River and Soap - The Oh Hellos OH BOY OH BOY THE OH HELLOS!!! I LOVE this band!!!!! If you were on art social media a couple years ago you probably have heard Soldier, Poet, King, which is by and large their most popular song. New River is one of my go-to songs when I am going through it. Absolutely love the imagery of the song, allowing new and difficult experiences carve new landscape through yourself. Soap, it is important to note, is the culmination of their four-part EP series Four Winds, and is kind of the resolution to that whole series of songs. It's really interesting and worth looking into! I must note that this is a Christian band in case you find that uncomfortable, but I would still recommend checking them out even if you do- the Four Winds EPS focus specifically on their struggles with God amidst the uh. Bad US Political Climate and all that. Most of their music on the topic is pointed and metaphorical (see: Passerine) and so that knowledge isn't super necessary to enjoy the music, I just think it's neat :] And not every song necessarily touches on the subject- these two specifically don't! Also I GOT TICKETS TO SEE THEM THIS YEAR LETS GOOOOO sorry this section is so long i just really like this band
No More What Ifs - Persona 5 Royal, covered by the 8 Bit Big Band Ok back on track lol. This song is absolutely my favorite from the game, but MAN THIS COVER. The 8BBB is one of the best video game cover bands out there imo, and they COMPLETELY outdid themselves with this one. They actually added a few extra lyrics to the song to better round out the overarching theme of both it and the game and MAN. i will never listen to another version again. The album this will be a part of isn't out yet sadly, but I would 100% recommend checking out their other stuff!
Bones in the Ocean (2023 vers.) - Longest Johns There's a lot to be said about this one but it's best if you just listen to it tbh. I will say that this is a new recording of one of the band's first original shanties, and that it includes all former and current members. Would highly recommend all the other songs on this album too, aside from this song it's a very fun listen! But ourgh this song,,,, if i had time I'd make a dozen animatics for it

'Tis Autumn - Nat "King" Cole Trio There's only one song to kick off the fall season and it's absolutely this one! Also The Autumn Leaves, which Nat King actually sung in Japanese once which is cool. He was an incredible musician and all of his songs are great, but Tis Autumn is probably my favorite :>
Catch You Catch Me (Card Captor Sakura OP) - Gumi Do you want to get ready in the morning feeling like a magical girl? Boy howdy do I have a song for YOU! Seriously the amount of people I've shown this song to under that premise who have come to me the next day saying that it worked is a lot lol. Card Captor Sakura has been a big comfort show for me and MAN the music is *chefs kiss*, especially the OPs!!! Linked the full song, but I would also recommend watching the opening itself :D
#41 - Dave Matthews Band "wow you like dave matthews lol thats such dad music" ok listen. I have been listening to DMB since before I was born. Saying I'm biased is probably an understatement here. But his songs are very good and I like them ok. Anyways #41 is a really stupid name for a song but I love the band in it, the weird lyrics, just the overall jazziness of it. If you wanna listen to more Dave stuff I would highly recommend the stuff from his solo concerts with Tim Reynolds- its just 2 guys jamming out on guitars, it's great. Stuff like One Sweet World, Still Water, Grey Street (This one's a tough listen for me but I love it). For the fun full band stuff I love So Much to Say, Ants Marching, just the older albums in general
Stay I Pray You - Anastasia (The Musical) I am allowing myself ONE (1) musical song. My sister is a huge musical fan and an even bigger Russian History nerd and an even BIGGER Bolshevik Revolution nerd so I watched Anastasia with her a lot growing up. Eventually they made the musical and it's actually tied for my favorite (Phantom is pretty hard to beat)! I got to see it tour and MAN. all the music is amazing, but this to me is the standout song- largely because this song, despite not being in the movie, actually was kinda in the movie- there's this bit in In the Dark of the Night that they took and made into a completely different song which is a fun nod to the movie!!
Music to Soothe The Savage Snake Plant - Mort Garson Got overwhelmed by my options at this point so I'm defaulting to one of my favorites! I believe another song off this album got popular recently, but I will forever know this one from it being used in the final scene in The Adventure Zone, my first and favorite DnD podcast! Honestly I could recommend a dozen songs from the podcast, but this one in particular always sticks out to me. While I'm here you should also go listen to The Adventure Zone, it's a great podcast, especially their first story (Balance, just start at the bottom lol).

There she is admiring Marshmallow Fluff's sculpture work :D#I really need to give Aria a last name but my naming convention heghh I'll get to it eventually#Anyway lol admiring and being inspired by! In her own specific way#Again probably not Actually how it all panned out - maybe Aria inspired her to pick up sugar crystal polishing? They're more similar#Charm has been making candles for a while now ♪ But she could be inspired by specific pieces :D#It also got me thinking about which Residents were around for what and when! As per the "do it alone do it scared etc" rule, I went to an art market today... It was pretty awesome, saw some cool paintings especially, and bought a bunch of fun stickers!! Also, you know you're with your people when you see someone with a Lemon Demon pin on their backpack among the visitors

#havent ranted in the tags in a while#my moms bday is coming up.#it always fucks me up a little#i did a little internet sleuthing and found out that since my childhood home was condemned in 2020 due to her hoarding#they lived with my grandparents for a little bit pretending nothing was wrong#then did a fucking van life “roadschooling” thing for two years#and last year they moved to a little cute house in a 1500 person rural beach town#which i am sure my mother has already hoarded#i am really worried for my sisters.#theyre 9 and 14 and have been homeschooled their whole lives#and my mother ritualistically hobbles her children physically and emotionally so they depend on her their entire life#i mean shit when my middle sister was nine my mother insisted on wiping her ass for her. thats the kind of shit I'm talking about.#my sisters are isolated. and ive tried to reach out to them multiple times. and i know she is neglecting and abusing them#in the same or worse ways that she neglected and abused me#at least i had fucking SCHOOL to go to. they dont. they only have Mom. and our mom is a psychopath.#my poor sisters have no one outside of the family and my mom manipulates everyone around her into silence.#I know there is no one who will help them in a way that matters and i despair over it.#she reads my blog sometimes so hi mom. i still hate your guts. when i tell my friends stories about you they're horrified and furious.#oh and stop telling anyone who will listen that im a junkie. you know thats a damn lie to make people think im crazy when i tell the truth.#plus if i were a junkie it'd be your fucking fault <3

i've had this persistent cough for 1+ year and ngl i'm starting to worry a little. like, it's become stronger these few last weeks, and while i initially thought it was just a general cough/cold because my health is somewhat weak (i get colds very easily, always have), and it was only mildly annoying, now i'm really hoping it's nothing bad
#i wouldn't have even worried if my family hadn't insisted i should see a doctor asap#and. i think they're right#possibly it's only my hypocrondial tendences speaking but.#really... the last thing i need is a serious health issue or whatever#besides the mental illness(es)#what's funny is that my lungs/bronchis (or whatever they're called in english) should be perfectly okay? i never smoked#it's been at least two years since there was a truly cold chilling winter so. how the fuck did i get sick?#val speaks#txt
