Made this for the Solarpunk Aesthetic Week server in a sudden creative fever, so I guess I'll post it here too hh

A relative of mine knows someone who teaches kids, so I'm gonna suggest this as an art project for them! The idea is that students could each make/decorate their own shelf, then put them together to form a hive, which could function as mini lockers in their classrooms. Then, by the end of the school year or something, they could either take their own little shelf home (or exchange them with their peers?), or recycle them into materials for the next class! Hopefully it'll teach them about pollinators too 🐝

Idk how doable this project is really, and its scary to imagine one of my silly designs could actually become something tangible irl. But even so, I'm still excited to try 🥰 (And if anyone else attempts this too, please let me know!!!)

WAIT I JUST THOUGHT OF A GREAT BARRY WHUMP STORY IDEA

Content: Blackmail, human experimentation, dehumanization, hidden whump.

Sometime after Firestorm goes off the radar, General Eiling sets his sights on the Flash. But since regular kidnapping was ineffective and resulted in a rescue last time, he tries a different approach.

He presents Barry with an ultimatum: Become a lab rat for the military, bring himself in every week or so for blood samples, tests, and very ethical experiments. Or have his identity as the Flash ‘anonymously’ revealed, jeopardizing the lives and safety of his loved ones (or something else for the blackmail— that’s just what I’ve thought of atm). Ofc, since this is whump, he chooses the first option.

A fun little detail about this deal though… He can’t tell anyone about it, and if he does, that person will mysteriously disappear. And they *will* know if he does, they’re keeping a close eye on such a valuable asset of course.

There’s just so much whump potential

The testing goes too far but Barry doesn’t have a choice so he suffers through it

Eiling reminding him that he chose to do this

Barry having to hide his pain (physical and emotional) from everyone. Especially since they can probably tell something’s going on

A test going WAY too far and leaving an injury that’s extremely difficult to hide

Dehumanization from the scientists and (probably) Eiling

Barry having a tracker put in him so he can’t try to back out or flee with his loved ones (bonus if Barry tries to escape when he sees what they’re about to put in him, but gets metacuffed before he can. Double bonus if he says something along the lines of “this wasn’t part of the deal,” because in my head this is the first thing they do to him)

Some more emotional whump— Barry breaking down after some weeks or maybe months of enduring this because he just feels so miserable and powerless (bonus if it’s either in front of someone on Team Flash, or he lets himself collapse and sob into them)

That’s all I’ve gotten so far but holy crap do I want this now

#this situation is so incredibly bleak though. I haven’t figured out a way for him to get out of it tbh #as usual when I’m posting whump ideas— free for the taking. Approaching the door, he heard light footsteps and scuffling coming from inside the room, and was instantly on his guard. Summoning Yamato, he grasped the door knob with his other hand and angled his head toward the door, listening more closely. A quiet noise, somewhere between a huff and a sigh, reached his ears. Ahh. He opened the door into the room with a single, smooth movement, feeling a selfish thrum of satisfaction as he caught the room’s occupant off guard, leaving her flustered and reaching for her own weapon. He went in for the metaphorical kill.

“You tread lightly… I thought it might be rats.”

“Gee, thanks.” Lady relaxed her arm and placed a hand on her hip with a roll of her eyes.

“What are you doing here? Dante isn’t home.”

“Well duh,” she replied, completely failing to elucidate further in any meaningful way. “That’s why I’m here. Now, if you’ll excuse me.” She walked toward the door, but he refused to stand aside and she had no choice but to draw up short.

“Ah, ah, ahhh,” he intoned with a smirk, waving Yamato in time with each syllable. “First, pay the toll.”
