Teehee hello hi I have Kana fic. It takes place during her paralog

"DON'T HURT MY PAPA!" Kana shrieked and shrieked.

Her throat hurt. She never yelled, hardly spoke louder than a whisper, but now she feared for her father's life. It was supposed to be a nice visit, why were these people here!?

She got some kind of adrenaline rush, she felt as though she could tear the enemies apart with her hands, but it barely lasted a minute. Her hands turned to claws and she grew at least five times taller. She killed at least a dozen beasts with a single swipe of her claw, but the energy became far too much and she collapsed, all her senses fading as she could just faintly hear her mother, aunts and uncles arrive.

She slowly opened her eyes, first noticing just how heavy her limbs were. She tried to move, but couldn't.

"Oh shushu, don't strain yourself," such a sweet voice said.

"Mama?" Kana said.

"I'm here, I'm here," Rinkah whispered, carefully hugging her beloved daughter.

Her mother was so sweet, always so loving and caring despite everyone else saying she was terrifying. Maybe that rage she always carried dissappeared when she was with a being as small and lovely as Kana.

Kana didn't notice she was crying until Rinkah wiped away her tears.

"It's okay, those monsters are gone," she whispered.

"I wanna see papa."

"I know, shushu, I'll go get him."

Rinkah placed Kana down once more, careful not to disturb the bandages she finally realized she had. As the door shut, Kana managed to just barely lift her arm. There were bandages from her shoulder to the tips of her fingers, and it ached. She let her arm fall once more, staring at the wall while she waited.

This room was unfamiliar, unlike anything they had in her homeworld. Perhaps her parents had finally brought her home? She had been excited for this day, but dreaded it as well. She understood their decision to keep her away from the war, but she resented them for hardly being there at all. The ones who had taught her to speak, walk, love and fight had been maids and tutors, not her mama or papa.

But when the door opened and a tearful Archibald entered, Kana forgot everything else. She could complain later, she needed to hug her papa now. He held her as tight as he could and she wept in his arms. Her mama joined them. For once, the family was all together. Perhaps now that Kana was old enough, she could fight alongside her parents and help end this conflict that had so mercilessly torn them apart.

I LOVE your art!! especially the very specific ways to depict intimacy. It feels very real, it's so so tender but there is often that sheer layer of tension that makes me want to consume as much as your art as possible. I hope I'm not bothering ypu, but what's the porch of your two characters? I love them, I love their dynamic.

You probably mean my current main characters, Vasco (the golden floppy-eared dog) and Machete (the pointy white dog). They're a couple living in the late 16th century Italy, at the very end of the Renaissance era. Vasco comes from a wealthy noble background and has a career in politics. Machete is a catholic cardinal, and as a secretary of state he oversees Vatican's foreign politics. Due to their surroundings they have to keep their relationship strictly secret.

Vasco originates in and lives in Florence. Machete is originally from Sicily and lives in Rome. They first met in their late teens/early adulthood when they were both studying in Venice. They were best friends before their feelings deepened, but eventually they had to separate. Machete graduated and was ordained a priest as intended. Vasco dropped out and returned home, where his family pressured him into wedlock. He ended up in a lavender marriage with a lesbian noblewoman named Ludovica (the red and white spaniel), she also has her own partner (still unnamed). Vasco and Ludovica are close friends, they get along well and cover each others' backs, but their union is purely platonic.

Machete and Vasco reunited in their early thirties by random chance, largely because they both work in foreign relations, and quickly resumed where they left off. They don't live together and can only see each other intermittently. Usually it's Vasco who visits Machete in Rome under the guise of working as a Florentine ambassador, but sometimes Machete manages to find an excuse to travel to see Vasco as well. They stay together for over a decade, meeting in secret and maintaining regular correspondence when their duties keep them apart (and quietly come to regard each other as their spouse), until Machete gets assassinated in his early/mid fourties. Vasco lives to his seventies and dies of old age.

They also have a modern au, which works as a sort of a reincarnation situation. They get to be a couple openly, get married eventually and grow old together.

Alright! Messages time! You guys got this on Discord and I was planning on writing stuff too but I got sick and then there was a huge blackout BUT I'M DOING IT NOW! YAY! Also if my messages start slowing down and getting shorter it's because I'm still a bit sick and overestimated my abilities to write 16 separate paragraphs. My bad.

@neo91502 I always get excited seeing you join a vc, because I KNOW there's going to be some fun shenanigans about to happen. Ever since we first started talking about Epic the Musical, I've genuinely enjoyed talking to you. Hearing you yap about Epic, Pikmin and Pressure is always fun, and I've enjoyed watching Epic animatics and Pikmin icebergs with you. Also, listening to the Ithaca Arc with you and the others was so fun! I genuinely can't imagine a better way to finish off the Musical than by listening to it with you!

DMing you while you were listening to the entire musical was SO silly and enjoyable, and I'm glad that I got to enjoy something I love with you! But, enough about Epic (until we get to TSB, anyway.) I do have a hard time communicating my interests properly, but your comforting presence makes it easy to talk to you. I always enjoy talking with you about Hexsy and her silly ships! Also Electric Dreams! Loved that movie! Never letting you pick a movie again. (I STILL HAVEN'T RECOVERED... EDGAR...)

It's always fun talking with you about Captain Underpants and Spongebob and SMG4 and Musicals in general (like Epic, of course!) I usually get slightly overwhelmed in large vcs, but your presence always calms me down! I've also enjoyed watching videos with you on vc, like FNAF theories and that MLP Iceberg (I stayed up WAY longer than I should have for that one whoops.) You are just a genuinely cool person, and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

@bluesbox Blue! My movie watching buddy! I enjoyed staying up late watching movies with you and Nxva. It's genuinely one of the best memories I have of 2024, from getting jokingly kicked out by you three times during three separate movies, to hearing your 100% absolutely correct statements about The Great Mouse Detective, and, of course, watching Electric Dreams with you and Nxva (I'm still in tears.) We haven't been on vc as often, but when we are, it always ends with me smiling!

One of my absolute favorite conspiracy theories is that 911 is just the universe’s fix-it fanfic of Hawaii Five-0, where a higher power saw McDanno being robbed of canon status and was like, "Fine, I'll do it myself."
