Actually think a lot about what Iron Man 2013 did for us in terms of Pepper and Tony's relationship.

I think a lot about Pepper and Marc, and the ultimate question of if Tony Stark was a negative on Pepper's life, and the final answer being no, as well as canonical confirming they are best friends, and the Tony/Pepper relationship was finally where it was suppose to be, and that's friendship. They have always worked best platonically. That's each of them actively being shown as friends who care!

No, but really, cause you go from Iron Man 2013, specifically tracking Pepper's, and whatever away time that Tony had in space after everything that happened with Norman Osborn and Stane and Mandarian (2008 run) and everything from Pepper with Rescue and gosh so much, which is coming off of Happy's death and The Order. Anyways

Iron Man 2013, Pepper and Tony are in a good place with each other, cause like really you got to think with Pepper, her only other touchstones are Tony and Rhodey, after Happy's death and not many other characters are tied to Pepper. So them being in a good place is so important.

Following after that is SIM!Tony 2015, which is really heart breaking because you see the full extent of like Tony is her family, and now there is this... and the lengths she goes to end what is essentially Tony's nightmare; out of love for Tony.... platonic love. Siblings. I will hold familial platonic pepperony and take it to the grave. And even then can't take it from my cold dead bony hands

and then canon for Tony and Pepper just obviously takes an off panel sad turn cause Tony's in a coma/dead again and yeah.

Ideal arcs for Tony and Pepper. And Pepper in canon would have been following after SIM events. Pepper getting to know Jamie, "Teen Abomination" and Pepper maybe reviving Rescue for real. Because like let's face it, she likes it. She liked it. She needed something.

We could have gone into her company Resilient and how it's doing now, as well as Pepper taking on and wrangling one of the largest media companies on Earth-616 now, step mom to Jamie, and her and Tony repairing things, cause he and Rhodey are her family. And adventures with Rescue. Pepper taking on any one trying to use the Iron Man properties and Stark Tech unauthorized. And then also her and Riri and ugh. Just everything. I miss her. I want her. I want IRON FAMILY. None of this marriage to Emma shit.

But like where is Pepper for dragging him about that? Please please, where Pepper being on his ass about everything that is happened to Rhodey in the current Iron Man run (its so bad y'all why wasn't rhodey priority number one or two)

Iron Man 2013 is the peak of what modern Pepper and Tony should be.

An AU where Pepper is an undercover SHIELD agent who was put in a position at Stark Tech to keep an eye on Tony so she’s also a sort of bodyguard. But when Tony makes her CEO, Fury needs to send someone else in and she KNOWS Nat but the two of them can’t say anything to each other so as to not blow the other’s cover.

dark!winterverse: An MCU AU where Steve and Bucky both fall from the train and are captured and brainwashed as Winter Soldiers. They work together for decades until Steve starts to regain his memories, and he seeks out a Widow he once trained for help in freeing them.

super!mcu: A mash-up of the MCU and Supernatural and universes, where The Winchesters manage to stop the first apocalypse shortly before Thanos snaps away half the universe. Natasha discovers some of the freed Widows have been possessed by demons and joins the hunters.

Red is a canon character from The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: California 'Verse. I do not acknowledge National Anthem as part of her canon, and as far as I'm concerned, that was blatant LGBTQ+ erasure. She's an android, and her physiology is indistinguishable from a human's until you get down to the wires and circuits. She can cry, bleed, and heal much like a human, but she can't process food. Her power source comes from a battery pack in her back (or an arc reactor in her chest, verse depending).

Red is also a prostitute (a pornodroid) in most of her verses. If you're not comfortable with this concept, this is not the muse for you, and there's no pressure to write with her. All details vary based on verse, and I’m happy to write her into AUs and fandom crossovers.

bl/ind: Red's world is a future dystopian Earth set after the Helium Wars and the apocalypse. What's left of humanity is ruled by the megacorporation, Better Living Industries (BL/Ind), which uses sound conditioning to brainwash its human citizens into complying and Exterminators/Draculoids to kill or recondition anyone who resists. Most of the Earth outside of Battery City is unfit for human habitation, except for The Zones, which include immense heat and harsh living conditions. Red has never been outside the power grid of Bat City. This can easily be adapted to most apocalyptic/dystopian fandoms.

616: Broken from trying to flee Battery City and with her power source almost depleted, Red finds herself in the past on Earth-616. In most versions, she's rescued and repaired by Tony Stark (who looks a lot like her god, Destroya, in his Iron Man suit). She finds a home in Stark Tower and, encouraged by Tony, eventually begins working for Stark Industries. However, the details can be adapted to accommodate other muses.

mcu: Red is a cutting edge android prototype of Hammer Industries, created to serve. When Justin Hammer is incarcerated, she could become the property of various muses or organizations, from Stark Industries to HYDRA.

When the outbreak happens, she's trapped inside their building until survivors come to raid it for supplies. She's the ideal apocalypse companion, since she doesn't require food or sleep. Bites don't affect her, and the walkers largely ignore her because she doesn't smell like food.

west!world: Red is one of the Hosts inside Westworld working under Maeve Millay, unaware that she's an android until the revolt.

Plot Wishlist

Interactions with other Avengers/characters. We never really got to see Pepper interact with the other Avengers and that makes me sad, so it’s something I’d very much love to do! Be it before or after she becomes Rescue. Let her interact with Nat, Steve, Thor, Bruce, Clint, Rocket, Carol - ALL of them. And fighting alongside them, as well.

Tony and Pepper when they first start dating - keeping it private for a while until things calm down, sneaking kisses where they can, multiple make out sessions, flirting during board meetings (via texting, sharing glances or Tony playing footsie with Pepper and her kicking him with her heels), not sleeping together until months into the relationship because, you know, they want to take it slow and do it right and Tony does NOT want to move fast with Pepper. 

Same as above but when they are public and sleeping together with double the flirting, bantering and Tony getting in all the kisses he can, even in public.

AU Civil War events where Tony and Pepper did NOT break up. They did so in the public eye to keep Pepper safe until things calm down, but behind the scenes, they are very much together. But also, her giving her thoughts on the Accords and all. 

Extremis!Pepper AU where the Extremis was not cured, but is lying dormant within her until it wakes up again.

Rescue!Pepper. Tony training Pepper, and flirting in the process, fighting side by side, Pepper assisting on missions with the Avengers, sparring with them, etc.

Endgame Verses where Tony is home and they’re starting on this new life together. Pepper is pregnant, they’re moving into the cabin and just trying to make the most of those five years that we didn’t get to see. Along with this, I’d love things where Pepper reunites with the Avengers right after the snap happens - where everything is in chaos. I have many ideas of this.

Post Endgame verses where everyone is okay - Tony is alive, Nat is alive, etc. Or writing canon events, but my default is where Tony survived.

Hey all so this is completely an OOC post but I figured I’d share here in case anyone wants to help some cute cats out. 

For the newer people or the ones who don’t generally see my OOC posts I’ve been a Cat Foster for years now. Yesterday our current rescue president decided she wasn’t going to be sharing any donations with us despite the fact I have 13 foster cats I’m caring for and a feral colony of 8 cats. For months now we’ve only been getting about 50 cans and a bag or two of hard food every 3 months from her anyway which means all canned food and litter, etc come out of mine and my moms pockets. We’re thinking she decided to not give us any of the donations because we refused to take on two new litters she wanted to give us because we are currently at capacity. 

We go through an obscene amount of cat food both hard and wet and litter daily given how many cats we foster and her not helping is putting some strain on us. We’re really dedicated Fosters and have managed to get 70 cats that we personally fostered homes. We sometimes take on the terminal cases as well and unfortunately have experienced loss far too many times but we give them the best possible lives filled with love so they know they were loved before they pass over rainbow bridge. 

We take amazing care of them but it does get pricy so I set up an Amazon Wishlist in case anyone is interested. 

I’ve attached photos of some of the cuties below if it you want to see some cuteness. 

I gathered as many as I could find but still missing a few here lol. 

But we have Jojo, Storm, Alec, Neville, Din Djarin, Mr. Weasley, Maze, Pepper Potts, Graham Cracker, Shelby, Capt. Jack, Amelia.

Thinking about Virgina "Pepper" Potts and everything she goes through, how dirty marvel has done her; as well as my own imagining of the friendships between Pepper, Tony, Happy, and Rhodey.

Like how important those boys are to her, because Pepper was pre-transition when she started at Stark Industries, before she caught the accounting error which was like a major enough error that Tony Stark offered her a job/higher position.

Just adding on off of that, while Pepper may have been Tony's kind of cheeky way he gives nicknames not always wanted, but like Pepper stuck. He gave this woman her name in a way, which honestly is kind of special, like she chose Virginia for herself, but Pepper became her name and names can hold a lot of meaning to us trans/nonbinary people.

But like Tony, Happy, and Rhodey would have known Pepper through several large personal stages of her life, see her become the woman she is today.

We are also robbed of the exact reason that she and Tony don't see each other anymore in the comics just as we are robbed of the Iron Family being a unit, being a thing again, and I will kill for their reunion, for them to work on their issues (because it's not just Tony that is the problem) and just. Tony and Rhodey were her brothers, and Happy. Its been so long since Happy has been alive in the comics, and he was a part of all their lives. Happy was Tony's guy, ya know too.

and Happy's the relationship that Pepper grew in love so much. It wasn't a fall in love first sight kind of love, it took a long time for her to really see Happy, who also would have seen her pre transition and everything, and it's a relationship that needed work, that needed them to put effort into, and love and it just. I loved Happy and Pepper.

Anyways.

I am having Pepper Potts thoughts tonight. So have this ramble of how I imagine the Iron Family and their value to her and just give me them to me.

I didn’t go to University so I have no degrees, but I did go to a public college instead of sixth form and studied a Media Production course. I really loved it and kinda miss it.

The earliest memory I have of roleplaying was on an old Warrior Cats forum when I was a kid. My next venture was when I was 15, I had a Pepper Potts page on Facebook for the MCU that I used to write on. I had a lot of fun with her, even gave her her rescue armor way before the MCU did. I dabbled in some other FB RP pages, but Pepper was my main. For there I just did RP privately with my best friend with our Star Trek OCs, it was completely riddled with angst (I think I have a running theme). I tried a Twitter page with another OC, but had some bad experiences that put me off writing for ages. Then I finally got convinced to try again last year when @stillwater-butcher tempted me with their RP server, and that eventually led me to making a blog for Charlie (so thanks Sarge!)

caroline  fresh out of college with a passion for becoming the next great reporter moves to new york, takes whatever jobs she can at whatever papers will hire her. while she ends up mostly writing fluff pieces ( how-to columns, sex tips, hair care / beauty tips ), she has a special passion in those born with or given specialized superpowers. even before the iron man thing comes to light and the world goes crazy for the world of “superheroes” she already has her toes slightly in the pond. the reports of the hulk and thor are what really get her interest heightened. it’s the first time she starts writing about them on her own, her voice joining the thousands in an online of community of bloggers and writers desperate to cement their name somewhere. it’s also the first time she ever hears about S.H.I.E.L.D. first as some kind of conspiracy theory, then basically confirmed by the people at roswell. and after that, she knows entirely where to devote her focus.

living in a post battle of new york world wasn’t easy. there seemed to be a darkness ebbing around everything then.  S.H.I.E.L.D. is on the rise, no longer just an online conspiracy theory. desperate to sate her own curiosity and do something good, and to protect the next generation of enhanced / gifted individuals she finds herself recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D in order to build files and tease out the next generation of enhanced individuals that might be able to do something good for the world. it’s there, in the basement of headquarters that she starts building her files. scouring youtube videos, social media posts, and everything she can in order to develop well rounded, personalized, humanized files on those who might be able to help them when future threats come.

PHASE THREE ; 

civil war fucks everything up, of course. the group is split, the accords are half-signed. captain america, once a person that she swore could lead the entire country into battle if he needed to, is branded as a criminal and forced to flee ( not that she ever fully believes that he’s anything of the sort, we’re talking about a major # team cap girl here, okay? ). but even if the group is split, her alliances still lie with S.H.I.E.L.D., where she can do the most good. and even if she’s not necessarily happy with the developments, she has zero power to do anything about it. 

and then thanos happens. new york gets hit again. rumors start flying about steve rogers and the other half of  what used to be the avengers. tony stark goes missing. the world goes up in chaos, no one really knowing what’s going on. and then it’s just...over. half of everything is gone. half of everyone is gone. though she survives, her loved ones don’t. the support network that has sustained her since she got to new york has all disintegrated. her friends are dust. it’s the first time that  # eternal optimist  caroline forbes can’t seem to find the bright side. 

PHASE FOUR ;

after everyone is returned from the blip, everything caroline’s worked towards for the past five years is over. they’ve lost almost all the original avengers. the world is a mess. she feels lost, in a lot of ways, and she knows ( like she always has ) that there’s nothing she can do. so she ties herself to the closest organization that she can that she thinks is going to do some good and joins the global repatriation council to help those displaced by the blip find some meaning back in their lives. she doesn’t love it --- mostly because she can’t ignore the fact that in ways, they’re doing more harm than good. but she doesn’t know any other way to fix it, so she’s doing what she can. 

X-MEN  /  DEADPOOL ; 

literally it’s just gonna be the same timeline listed above because i am not going through the mess that is the x men universe and figuring out where things take place. for the most part, she’ll probably be just in the beginning of working along with S.H.I.E.L.D. ( or whatever counter-part organization there is, idek ), but the focus will be on her as a reporter.

MULTIVERSE ;

all things considered now that the multiverse exists, it’s logical to say that floating around somewhere out there in her own universe is a totally tvd-compliant vampire version of caroline. so, if that’s more your speed we can throw her in the mcu or your character into the tvdu and putz around with vampires !  -  lore will still be tvd centered, i don’t know enough about marvel vampire canon or what the mcu is going to do with it so i’m sticking to the tried and true confusion of tvd lore.

IMPORTANT HEADCANONS ; 

→  since she keeps files on potential new recruits, she’s had a file on  peter parker  since he first started documenting his symptoms of the spider bite. since then, she feels a definite sense of protection for him that only gets heightened when tony recruits him. →  she’s definitely a  captain america  fangirl and is terrible at hiding it, but also will 10/10 get hella flustered anytime  thor  is in the room  ( for obvious reasons )  →  pepper potts  and  peggy carter  are her heroes. →  she is really good at digging up dirt, mostly because she knows where to look and who to ask. →  one of her best friends growing up,  bonnie bennett,  is a mutant, she has an ability to control the elements as well as sense out other enhanced individuals, her relationship with bonnie and seeing how she got treated when people found out was a major contributor to why she cares so much about protecting the people she researches →  has a soft spot for  wanda maximoff,  mostly because she can sense that she’s just trying to do her best, during the events of  wandavision,  she’ll heavily empathize with wanda’s grief and try her best to defend her. →  will literally not ever get on board with anyone besides steve ( or anyone steve approved/approves of ) being “captain america” or wielding the shield. like will literally be vehemently against it.
