if there is one thing that interests him though it’s how your magic compares to that of the archons, vision holders, and yakshas

your magic was unique and something that the other people of teyvat weren’t familiar with nor capable of and this definitely intrigued xiao

he likes to see how you can use your magic in ways that the archons may not and wants to know what the limits of your abilities are

he secretly loves your familiar but would rather drop dead than ever admit it, he spends time with it while your asleep or while you’re away quite often and likes to cuddle with it

when you’re not around xiao sleeps with your familiar as he views it not only as a pet but also as another piece of you and so it helps to keep him calm and stop him from having nightmares :(

as a member of the fatui it was only natural for you to have to work with the harbingers, being assigned as scaramouch’s personal healer wasn’t exactly easy but you made it work whenever you could

childe had heard about you from scaramouche, about how you were a good healer and about how you were surprisingly good at combat as well as how worthy of an advisory you were but there was only thing that scaramouche didn’t ever tell childe; about how absolutely stunning you are

scaramouche is no fool, he was well aware of your beauty but it never mattered much to him as his job was to kill not to swoon his co-workers, however knowing childe he never brought up how attractive you were because god knows Childe’s CEO of being an office flirt and scaramouche would rather not deal with any romantic (or sexual) tension between you both

when childe joined scaramouche for a mission once it was very hard, he had to pull plenty of strings from the higher ups and even had to blackmail la signora but of course you didn’t even notice him. 

having both his team AND scaramouche’s team; it was normal that you would stay by scaramouche’s side and since he had his own (and much less attractive might I add) healer you didn’t really pay attention to him.

regardless of your disinterest he won’t give up and continues to try and get your attention in the most outlandish ways he knows of, going as far as writing sweet letters and pulling more strings to get you switched onto his team. though I doubt he realized that by then you have started to pay attention to him and secretly mention to scaramouche about a handsome #11 fatui harbinger who’s caught your eye.

the keys jingled in the lock as xiao struggled to open the door to your dorm only to find you open it yourself a few seconds later, upon letting him in he noticed the usually (somewhat) clean environment had been less clean than before.

“i’m sorry for not being able to hang out, i have more studying to do tonight before my exams.”

he just nodded and said that it was fine. he followed as you walked to your bedroom where the desk was piled with papers and textbooks, messy pens and scraps of paper lying everywhere and he sat down on your bed observing you. he watched as he noticed your pajamas and develoshed hair, you pushing up your glasses as he took note of the bags forming under your eyes. how long has she been like this? his mind wanders in a worryful state, he can only hope that during this time of the school year you’re taking care of yourself.

you excuse yourself from the room to go get a cup of tea, you said you’d get one for xiao as well so he could stay where he was. but why haven’t you come back? you went into the kitchen at least 10 minutes ago, so where’s the tea he didn’t really care about? he got up in a state of confusion and made his way towards the kitchen, standing at the door frame he calls your name only to see you lying on the floor... passed out. shit. he can’t think of anything other than to carry you back into your bedroom and lay on the bed, he was panicking on the inside but being xiao he didn’t show it.

how long had she been passed out? is something wrong? is it medical or just pure stress? should i call an ambulance? what do i do?

the poor boys head was a mess, not a single coherent thought was coming in and his only idea was to call his friend aether in hopes that he could get some answers. knowing that you and aether go to college together would also be useful in how to help you with your studying after you awoke, so with that conclusion he unlocked your phone and looked for aether’s contact.

of course upon hearing the news; aether panicked and was worried as but hearing xiao calming tell him that they need to cool down and think of something made his conscious clearer. after talking to aether for a few more moments he looked over at you one more time before his brows furrowed and a frown adorned his face. he then left your room after cleaning up your desk of all the distraught papers and unorganized books.

you awoke confused, what even happened? why am i in bed? oh yeah, i was studying. wait, what happened to my studying?! you sat up too quickly, the blood rushing to your head pounded like a hammer. you were about to get up when you saw xiao in the doorway, he looked like he was on the verge of tears. he set down the bamboo tray in his hands that carried two cups of tea and some pastries before he made his way over to you, he sat down on the bed and brought his face close to yours.

“you’re an idiot you know. don’t overwork yourself so much.”

he moved in closer, your face was burning in anticipation. just kiss me already damnit.. was what you wanted to say, but of course you wouldn’t and within mere seconds you felt a strong sting on your forehead. closing your eyes and bringing your hand to the area of injury you realize he flicked you.

“i know that you’re struggling with school, but your health always come first. who cares if you don’t have the best grades, you shouldn’t stress yourself out over something that’ll pass so quickly.”

his eyes widened just the slightest bit and he wrapped his arms around you, you were confused until you felt his wet shoulder. were those... tears? you closed your eyes and embraced him, letting out a sigh you let yourself relax in his arms even if only for a moment.

“thank you xiao, i love you.”

[welcome! thank you for the request, i wasn’t sure if you wanted headcanons or a scenario so i just went with a mix. i hope this suits what you requested :D]

xiao loves almond tofu, it’s his favorite thing (besides you of course but he’d never let that slip) so it’s not surprising that he would want you to try it

considering how much food taste you have in common will be a factor in his surprise, if you two don’t like a lot of things that the other likes then it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. if you did however..... he’d be heartbroken (jokingly that is)

bringing you to yangshang tea house he seemed a little bit happier, though you were the only one to notice since he hides it so well

after ordering you made small conversation and when the almond tofu made its way to your table you were excited to try it, once you took a bit or two though you realized that it wasn’t quite your taste

you tried to scarf it down for xiao but by the slow way you were eating and forced smile he could tell that something wasn’t right, he had thought you were just upset or had a bad day but that wasn’t the case

“is something wrong princess?”

“ah... you could tell...”

“mhmm. really though what’s wrong?”

“well.... how do i put this? i’m sorry xiao.”

“for what?”

“i don’t really.... i don’t really like almond tofu.”

that was all, nothing more was said from him. he just looked down and kept eating, you felt bad but honestly it didn’t seem to affect him.

however, while it didn’t seem to affect him; it did. little things changed without notice but for him it was kind of hard, the way he had to pause before mentioning almond tofu and going quiet or when he would ask if you wanted to eat some with him before realizing or asking if you guys should make some for dinner.

eventually after a while you did notice, but it took at least 4 months which of course you feel absolutely horrible about

as dramatic as it sounds; when you confronted him about it he cried. he didn’t wanna seem like a burden and bring things up that you didn’t care for, and naturally you did care considering it made him happy!

after discussing that there’s nothing wrong with him wanting it for dinner or eating with him or even talking about it to you, something very unexpected happened

he started to cry again and you could practically hear you own heart shattering, you didn’t mean to make him sad! he’s never cried this much before so you could only feel a wave of guilt wash over you

xiao has never been good with communicating, but for once in his life he actually said how he felt. he cried not because he was sad, but because he was happy.

being an immortal who’s sworn to protection and having that be your soul life purpose is a lot harder then you’d ever know, being so alone made everything difficult for xiao

when you explained that when he’s happy you’re happy made him feel nothing but pure love which is something he never thought he’d experience, he just... he loves you so much and hearing how much you care about him and are willing to sacrifice for him (even if it’s not much to you) means more than you’ll ever know

after your little talk and lots of cuddles it was quiet, you didn’t expect not liking almond tofu to be such a big bonding experience but here you two are sitting in each other’s warm and silence

it wasn’t a “well now what” kind of quiet but more so a mutual understanding and comfortable quiet with cuddling and falling asleep to the beating of each other’s hearts

after that xiao got back to normal and didn’t hold back his passion for almond tofu (at least not after a little bit) which made you happy and he realized that he didn’t need to stop talking about it because when he’s happy; so are you.

xingqiu has some of the most relaxing cuddles to be honest, they’re a lot like him in the sense that they’re elegant and gentle

he’s very well timed if that makes sense, meaning that he’ll just naturally be ready for cuddles when they happen

he’d finish up eating and drinking something or just getting ready to start a new book when you come in and decide you want cuddles or when he feels sleepy and wants to initiate them himself

he likes to hold you in his lap (or sitting in between his legs) and read, sometimes he’ll let you sleep but other times he’ll read out loud and it’s really calming to listen to

he also likes it when you hold him, it gives him a sense of security and it makes him happy to know that someone is caring for him

xingqiu is very mature and while i don’t expect him to be bouncing off the walls i think that he’d probably be a little more open and childish with you because you’re the only person he trusts to see that side of him

during the day cuddles with him are very calming and relaxing, they’re soft and gentle while during the night they’re filled with giggles and cheesy/loving comments that put you to sleep (that is if you don’t have a heart attack hearing him say such things so casually)

his grip is firm but still gentle and caring, it’s almost loose if it weren’t for how he pulls you back to him when you try to get up

his favorite places to cuddle are by window sills and on the couch, while he does like to cuddle in bed that’s more of a “cuddle because of lights out for the night” type of thing and he prefers day time cuddles where he can just take naps with you

if you’re struggling to keep your eyes open he’ll just look down at you with the most loving smile on his face and he’d give you a sweet kiss before telling you to rest and then going back to singing or humming

once you’ve fallen asleep in his arm he just looks at you for a little bit with a quiet smile before sighing (meaning he’s glad he’s relieved some stress with you) and resting his head on either your shoulder or head, he’ll fall asleep soon after
