The funniest (saddest, twisted, concerning) thing ever about that "The Zygerrian arc went different and the Queen didn't die so Padme took matters herself" AU concept, is that Anakin would absolutely panic and act like he just got caught cheating, he would act like in your average sit com "guy got caught cheating".

He would feel all of his blood leaving his head and go onto his feet to start running because he would be like "HONEY, I CAN EXPLAIN, is not what you think, no wait i'm so sorry i'm sorry she's nothing to me I swear"

And everyone else, like, even Miraj are side eying, everyone but Anakin is tremendously aware of The Horrifying Situation, even fucking Jar Jar would be like "Anakin yousaa wearin a damnsa shock collar, what the hell yousaa talking about"

But nope, Anakin is there fighting for his life trying to keep his marriage and insisting it's sacred for him. All while Padme and whoever else she dragged there (is it Bail? Surely it was Bail) are trying to politically slap Miraj.

And then, of course it becomes a fight and Padme is ready for murder because she always is anyways, but Anakin is there still going like "Is not what it looked like", as he's saving Bail from a falling chandelier.

I love that Ranpo not only convinced Ms Egawa to help him make his big mystery solving announcement on stage, but also got her to go make sure Fukuzawa was watching too. Announcing his big find in front of an entire theatre of people means nothing if Fukuzawa isn't sitting in the front row watching him.

He's up on stage, he's got the lighting, he's got the microphone, he's giving his big speech! This is his moment! Ranpo gives a big "Look at me!" smile to Fukuzawa. Completely unaware the latter is sinking in his chair about to pass out from second hand embarrassment because they are at a murder scene not a school talent show!

They truly are operating into two different worlds. Fukuzawa is in the middle of mystery noir novel. His internal monologue is going "Of all the murder scenes, in all of Yokohama, Ranpo had to walk into mine." Meanwhile Ranpo is breaking free! He's soaring, flying! He's putting on his big end of the Disney movie performance!

been daydreaming bits and pieces of a fic about that one variant they cut from the movie, y'know the one that combined wolverine and deadpools suits and I have so many ideas for scenes but literally nothing for an actual plot and it's killing me

premise being the variant is their daughter in a different universe, ends up in their universe for a reason I can't figure out, the TVA sends them to get her and the three of them go on some kind of adventure together to get her back home

Standing completely still in the middle of a crowded dance floor, hood covering her face, full on staring without blinking once. Sweetheart, I know you're worried but you're being just a little unsettling.

I like to imagine that Lake became the leader of the apes after Caesar's death. I think we're given some hints in War that she's quite possibly the best candidate to fill the role. We're shown from her first moment on screen that she's compassionate and reliable, entrusted with the care of young apes and confident in her work.

She's included in Caesar's counsel when discussing the Clan's future and plans. She's not afraid to speak her mind and does not hold back when she disagrees with Winter. It's bittersweet to see her and Blue Eyes; they're a good balance, he's matured since the events of Dawn and now acts as peacemaker, they would have been good leaders together.

Even though she shows a deep respect for Caesar and doesn't challenge him, she does openly question him. She doesn't hide her shock or confusion at his choice to leave the Clan and his son, but still acquiesces to his request. She trusts him and demonstrates he can trust her.

And this trust is deep. She's one of the few apes taken captive who still trusts and believes in Caesar after everything they've endured. She's the only one who will still speak to him, to not treat him with contempt. She's patient and resilient, not unlike a much younger Caesar.

I think it's a testament to Lake's character in how she doesn't lose that trust and belief in Caesar, even when he's not thinking his actions through. Sure it spurs all the other apes on, a show of strength and defiance, but she understands how dire their situation really is, even before the Colonel gives Caesar a brutal demonstration.

And she takes it upon herself to protect their Clan. It's desperate, she's terrified, but someone has to protect the apes when Caesar is lost in his desire for revenge. It's a show of strength and defiance in a way, but not to challenge the Colonel's authority, it's a message to the apes that they can endure this together, together they are strong.

And the Clan listen to her. Someone has to have some sense and her compassion is not a weakness, it's a strength and keeps her thinking straight, keeping the apes safe from as much harm as possible being her priority.

And I feel like there's an echo of the first time we see Caesar in war here, apes parting to allow their leader through. The apes trust Lake's judgement; her strength, compassion and resilience make her a natural born leader. I feel like with Rocket and Maurice as her advisors, she could have been an amazing leader.
