just remembered a wip i had which was jay at uni meeting normal people and desperately trying to act cool and normal whilst internally screaming about being in a whole new place with all new people and not having his gang with him

so rui might not be getting an october event this year huh
rip to his 3 year streak
first events will probably be MMJ and N25, and while I think unit lim event is possible for october because of the 3 mixed events in a row, rui's off the table because of how many 4*s and lims he has rn.

Do you think the anime should have made Ash capture more Pokemon in each generation so that he would be forced to learn how to rotate before the Pokemon League? The few rotations he did over certain seasons were very unbalanced and absolute failures. I like to imagine that he would catch more than 5 Pokemon in Paldea and would have to learn how to rotate.
In the anime? No.
We saw what happened in Kanto, Johto and Unova and how if you aren't a starter you can say goodbye to any screentime. What was done from Kalos onwards was the best course of action (even if Kalos still suffered a lot of the starter syndrome with how much screen time was given to Greninja and no one else)
What I would have liked for the anime was more seasons like Battle Frontier, where Ash rotated between the pokemon he already had and only caught very few new ones. Journeys was an ideal place for that, specially to balance with Goh's constant catches (and how out of place Gengar and Dragonite feel as Ash's mons) but I digress.
Now for fan stuff? If you think you can write Ash with more than 6 pokes at time, go for it!
You don't need to keep the starters in the team at all times like the anime did so that already gives you much more wriggling room to mix and match and give everyone the same ammount of attention!

yes this is a natural series of events when you've worked at the same place for over a year and it also happens to have RIDICULOUSLY quick turnover where very few people wind up staying on consistently, but ive become one of the Experienced Waitresses That Knows What They're Doing at my job and we very suddenly have a lot of New Teenagers That Have Never Done This Before and it's just. insane to me. bc when i started my job i was SO intimidated like it truly is a big very fast-paced place where everyone has to pull their weight (ie you need to be able to do the coffee station and work the floor and run food and help on bar) and the customers are particularly wankerish so the more Experienced Staff that had been there for a while were like mini gods to me. like truly i thought they were so cool and smart and unbothered and now that's me. i have a gaggle of 17 year olds constantly asking me how to do things and I KNOW THE ANSWER. on a government wage no less

There are so many personalities, perhaps a number flirting closer to a million or several. In that end, to grasp them all, one has better start learning, devouring all manner of manual and tomes. However, never one to be bested, Miraak trudges on admirably, and to credit, discreet as ever, Gale had hardly noticed.
But then, in all fairness, they, sat together, had technically just met. He hadn't known Miraak before, the man he'd grown to be when battered with solitude. Gale hadn't flavored his distrust or the quality of those men that had come here before him, and so, Miraak plunging longly in that study of biology? To Gale, it all seemed part and parcel with his hunger to learn. Surely, he little meant to suss him, learning how to treat this wizard in his tailored-fine velvets. Even Gale, half a peacock, wouldn't dare to assume a thought so flattering, but gods preserve him, Gale, unlike Miraak, isn't anywhere near as subtle. Even more so, Gale, unlike Miraak, is gleefully talkative.
After all, some studies, he would happily wager, are better learned beyond the pages of leather-clad books. This is where they differ, a stark chasm in their beings that would rival a ravine. Even after his isolation, Gale would jump oh so willingly into bartering words. He's a...fondness in him still, a sort of honeyed-up soul his rot couldn't conquer. It makes him honestly kind, stubbornly affable regardless if the day would strike him harder, and -- well, he's a mortal thing, too, simple with his wants and his vulnerable heart. Scholars long for knowledge in their hours with their books, but to his core, it was connection that Gale felt starved of the most.
It's a secret. And so, perhaps they've a pretense that they both will nurse.
Stirring, Gale looks to the page that Miraak thumbs on open. He looks to it, seeing little beyond words and a half-scrabbled image of some drawing of Atmora. It's conjecture a best, so shrouded in uncertainty and mystery as it is. It's a bygone era, and sadder still, an echo of a time with whom but one soul can hear. Gale listens to Miraak, their gazes locking as his host, his friend, shares a little of himself. Gale's heart folds a little, that emeralding glow freckling soft in his eyes. Like earth and moss and leaves upon the peat... Loneliness. Not for the first time, he thinks there's not a man more lonely.
"I hale from Waterdeep," he offers, "not so ancestral admittedly, but no less the hotbed for culture and aspiring innovations." He conjures up an image. "I live at her docks, surrounded always with waters as she winks with the sunrise. In the morning, I would smell the stirring of the bakeries preparing for the early birds, and at night, I would watch the stars where they would glimmer the proudest and brightest." Full and alive. There and present. The mirage before them twinkles like an ocean with a breeze, and Gale, looking up, gauges his companion.
Miraak... "How long have you been here?" / @bendwill, continued from here.

for ask. game. electric?
(ask game)
An all-electric team? Seems like it'd be fun. I dont really like sticking to one type, but if I had in a different universe, it'd probably look something like this?
Galvantula and Elektross definitely. I've had a Galvantula in the past, and I would happily have an Elektross right now if I didn't have my hands full...
This alternate universe me probably would've gotten a Toxel instead of a Ponyta back then too... not that I got Windy- she kind of came to me by surprise, but. Nevermind, alternate universe shenanigans.
Joleteon is a great 'mon, and Raichu... I'm the rodent guy. I've gotta have at least one rodent Pokemon with me at all times. You know how it is.

Have u noticed anytime a current uswnt player is asked about an upcoming opponent they’re like “oh yeah they’re gonna be tough and we’re preparing”
But when Tobin is asked about their opponents she basically says we’re gonna fuckin destroy them and they’re gonna go home and cry to their mama’s
Tobin’s mentality > literally everyone else 💀
Lol yeah. Tobin still has the must win attitude which made the US so recognizable in 2019. It's been mentioned time and time again that Vlatko doesn't embody that mentality.
The strange thing is that he hasn't been able to fix the negative consequences of the must win attitude either. His players are still overplayed which they were in 2019 as well.
You would think that if someone is basically going to change the entire identity of a team he would try and sprinkle some injury prevention in there.

Fiona wants badly to be the next Aureolus, to be an alchemist and inheritor, but it is hard with no mentor, everything in disarray, and no connections. A part of her struggled answering the letters that kept coming, but the other wanted to jump into the fire. How much did this Doctor know? For what purpose was he asking for the compounds? Was he an alchemist as well, or one of those people who simply dedicated themselves to the unusual or macabre? And worse, would he be upset at the deaths of her predecessors?
On the other hand, his letters seemed so formal and lacking in threats, and one more desperate than the one before besides, that she decided to take the plunge. Lorenzo would usually just sign his letters with "Aureolus" and "supplier", and no further information, and so did Daniela and Riccardo the few times they'd replied. She decided that she would too.
After quickly writing her response, she sent it expeditously, in the same red envelope her grandfather use to send his letters in, accompanied by the usual box... Dr Jekyll, whoever they were, would receive this letter by courier in hand way before the mailmen started their route.
Dearest doctor,
You will find no notice of me on any of your previous correspondence, and that is because I write to you with sad tidings. The previous owners and staff of this facility have recently perished by fire. I am the last inheritor left, and it has taken time for me to even find your correspondence, let alone the substances you require, and those the fire greatly harmed. I shall apologize again for the state I send the stock in, as it too has been greatly damaged and changed in texture and color in the fire that took those lives. Depending on what you need them for, they may still suffice.
There is none left who can help me walk my grandfather's footsteps, and as such I cannot recreate them, if it is even possible, but possible substitutions can be made. The reason my grandfather managed to stock all these rare substances is because he was more than a simple chemist, and I have this talent.
It is unknown to me how close you two were, but I am willing to meet. The courier can drive you to me, and I hope you understand why I am not giving my location in writing. Come without weapons in your person, but you are welcome to bring them and any other dangerous materials with you, as long as they can be inspected by me first.
Aureolus Fiona Belli, supplier.

Lucretia was, as usual, sitting at the large dining table with nothing but a glass of red “wine” and today’s newspapers. She did enjoy sharing her breakfasts with Coriolanus, but of course, she did not need to eat. Not food, at least.
She was reading the economics section, her glass in hand. Lost in a particularly interesting article about the rising of coal’s value, she almost didn’t notice the way her descendant was staring at her. Oh, it was subtle, she’d grant him that. He was, as always, careful. But her senses were too sharp for her to miss the discreet glances shot her way.
“What is it, Coriolanus?” she asked, putting the newspaper back on the table, “if there is something you wish to tell me, out with it.”

In addition to tearing apart their thesis as a result of their fallout, Kaveh had cut his hair short after he’d been left alone with the torn thesis. It was messy and extremely choppy, almost as short as Alhaitham had his.

We had one of Steff's comedian friends staying with us on the weekend, lovely lad called Sam from Singapore. He had never been to Wales before, and he requested that we take him to a Welsh restaurant so he could try Welsh food
That's surprisingly difficult, actually. Like a lot of Welsh culture, our culinary traditions have not exactly been applauded over the years, so you don't really see them. But a lucky Google search revealed a brand new one has just opened in SA1 called the Welsh House, so great! Away we went.
Fuck me, they went all in.
It wasn't just the menu (though fuck me, what a menu - one of their 'for the table to share' options was little mini leek and cheddar Welsh cakes with salted butter and they were paralysingly good). It wasn't just that every alcohol was Welsh, even including the wine (surprisingly good btw, called 'Naturiol'.)
The table centerpieces were daffodils. All signs for the toilets were Welsh only. The walls had photos of Wales, modern and historical; the windows had the fleur de lis; the specials board (pork belly in Welsh cider and damson sauce with honey and wild garlic glazed carrots) had dragons on. I realise this is probably normal for country-themed restaurants, but I've never been to one for Wales before.
But the best bit, see, was the music
I clocked, when we walked in, that they were playing If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next by the Manic Street Preachers (you always clock the Manics). Ah, I thought. A Welsh song! In a Welsh restaurant! Ho ho ho.
As they seated us, it became What's New Pussycat. Ah! I thought. Another Welsh song! Fu fu fu.
Then they played Monster by the Automatic and I was like my god are they only playing Welsh music?? That's so cool! What an eclectic mix that's going to be. We should suggest to them they should look into Welsh language music too, really mix it up.
And then they played Anrheoli by Yws Gwynedd and lads, Steff and I lost our shit. We lost our fucking shit. Sam's sitting there, utterly bewildered. The staff are nervously edging away from us. We don't care. It's the first time I have ever heard a Welsh language song played outside of a Welsh language setting. We're so excited.
"They're playing Welsh music!!!" says Steff. "Holy shit!!!"
"Imagine if they played Sebona Fi!" I say, humorously.
"Nah," says Steff. "You can't in a restaurant. There'd be a riot, it's faerie music."
"...what?" says Sam
We explain the cultural phenomenon that is Sebona Fi. The song changes: Primadonna Girl, by Marina and the Diamonds.
"She's Welsh??" says Sam.
"She's from Abergavenny!" we beam.
"I don't know what that means," nods Sam, who is from Singapore.
Next: The Bartender and the Thief, by the Stereophonics. We're in high spirits. The extraordinarily Welsh wine arrives, as does the rarebit on sourdough starter. Sam, a gay man, delightedly orders the faggots and peas.
They play Ben Rhys by Gwilym Bowen Rhys, and we lose our shit again. Sam is now used to this, because comedians are adaptable. "They even have daffodils!" I say, misty eyed. "Is that relevant?" Sam asks, fascinated.
They play Hiraeth, by PLU. Hard to explain that one. Very hard to explain the effect it has when it's played in a restaurant, but Sam looks around the suddenly muted room and whispers "Are we in church?"
"It's about Hiraeth," whispers Steff. "So kind of."
Next: the Masses Against the Classes, by the Manics. Utter tonal whiplash. This playlist is not remotely restaurant appropriate. It's perfect.
"You'd think they'd pick like... a genre," Sam says dreamily. "We just went from church to the barricades."
The faggots arrive. "I forgot it would be a western sized portion," Sam says morosely, of what to me is a normal sized plate of food. He tries one, and brightens.
They play Sebona Fi.
The place erupts.

@a-hazbin-spider (please ask me to kill for you pilled motherfucker)
Astors ears bounced with surprise as Angel launched himself at the guy, his eyes widening as he looked between the two. He didn't know if he should be worried or impressed that the spider was starting a fight for him. Sure the other guy was being a little aggressive but he could have handled it....well, he was pretty sure he could have had he gotten the chance. He didn't even get the opportunity to get annoyed by the guy and Angel was off.
"Angel!" He wasn't exactly scolding the other, it was more bewildered surprise. It wasn't like he hadn't seen the spider fight before, Angel was scrappy given the opportunity but usually Astor was good at taking care of himself.
