Redd will never stop being the absolute funniest Animal Crossing character to me. It's illegal how underrated he is. He's got either a londoner or new yorky accent depending on how you read it. His logo is a blatant ripoff of Tom Nook's. He's fuzzy. He wears nothing but an apron. He's a bastard. He's clever. He's amazing at art. He does not utilise this talent in a genuine way. He painted the Mona Lisa at least 5 times but with angry eyebrows and no other change. He went to art school. He's divorced from Tom Nook. He has a million cousins. His old colleague now works for his ex instead. He lives on a boat. He has to hide said boat from Tom. He doesn't even know if half his art is real or fake. He's a kitsune with no powers so is essentially just a normal fox. He recreated an entire stone tablet and the only thing he changed was he made it bright blue. Blathers hates him. He's an enemy of the state. He openly admitted he was crazy before realising that was a bad sales technique. He replaced the adjective with 'jolly'. In old games people were blatantly racist against him being a fox. He has the same criminal motivation as Nick Wilde. His name is just the colour of his fur. His password is a spiteful jab at his ex. Okay I have actually cracked the code for how the duel in Stormlight 5 will end, and it's a lot simpler than anyone is theorizing.

In chapter 99 of Rhythm of War we get a few pages with Wit and Jasnah writing up the contract for the duel. Wit tells a story as he's writing about how he once rigged a game so that he couldn't lose, and then someone tied it. He didn't lose automatically because it was a tie, but because he had bet everything on winning. He then writes up an airtight contract, ensuring that no matter what the outcome of the duel they can come away satisfied, with Odium still bound to the Rosharan system.

People are hyper focused on the tie, but even discounting that for not making any sense in a duel to the death, it wasn't the tie that did him in. It was an unexpected outcome that he couldn't have bet on. Todium's best move is to try and get Dalinar to break the terms of the contract, because he's not satisfied with win or lose.

That's the first part, the second part is the fact that Odium throws Wit's contract out completely, leaving Dalinar to negotiate on the fly. He does really well, ensuring minimal losses even if he doesn't win, and trapping Odium in the Rosharan system. It's all very very simple, and the more simple and straightforward something is the less room there is to bend it than if there had been provisions for each and every little thing.

HOWEVER, Dalinar adds a couple of things that he really didn't need to. 1. The champions must be willing, and 2. They must arrive unharmed by either side's forces. Neither side will purposely break their word by choosing someone who isn't completely willing, so it has to be the second one imo.

For narrative purposes I think it'll have to be someone Dalinar personally harms, it can't be accidental, and it can't be someone who was harmed prior to the terms being set. This is all pretty simple and maybe a little silly sounding on paper, but with the right execution it can and will be a massive narrative gut punch

Aphrodi's in the bordering space between mortal and godhood.. meaning he's an old guy who's always there, no one knows how old he is, but somehow he always keeps kicking on.

he could look a lot more like a corpse, but this is what I ended up with! he can be very threatening but mostly I'd think he pulls the "old gods" scare card to prank kids. mostly he's like an elder of the village, telling stories (telltales or true stories, no one really knows) and giving good, although cryptic advice. his hair is extraordinarily healthy and thick for his age.

Black Arms Sonic (Eclipse Version)

IMPORTANT DESIGN NOTE: It's based mainly on Eclipse and the Dark Arms (which is where he's getting that turquoise and some light blue from) in this one instead of just the Black Arms in general!! :> (this also means he can use that one laser attack that Eclipse uses with Cyzer)

In this AU (which doesn't actually take place in the Archie universe but is heavily inspired by that one arc with Eclipse on Angel Island) Eclipse and the surviving Dark Arms crash land in a forest near a city after escaping the Black Comet just barely before Shadow destroys it.

Fast forward about a week and Eclipse and the Dark Arms have settled into their secret hideout, killing at least one human or mobian in the process as they are trying to lay low. Eventually Eclipse devises a scheme to capture Sonic and using his own DNA and some from the Laser Dark Arms (since it's most likely to be compatible with Sonic) slowly turn him into one of them. And he specifically goes through all this effort in an attempt to win Shadow over to their side. After all if he can get Sonic over to his side then surely Shadow, who he knows likes Sonic from what little time he'd been inside the hivemind, would willingly come over to their side!

Of course this does not go to plan and Shadow refuses... but that still leaves the remaining Black Arms and a brainwashed Sonic to deal with.
