"Oh. I thought it smelled like dog. You must be Freya's new boo; the one Hayley imprisoned for a pinch. Good to finally meet you. Surely you must know I'm Freya's favorite sibling." / @therebekahmikaelson
Tumblr media
“Funny, you don’t look like Elijah,” Keelin replies just as swiftly, before she has a chance to think about antagonizing the centuries-old vampire who could probably snap her like a twig. Freya has warned her about her siblings, giving a detailed overview of each and Rebekah was no different. But despite her reservations towards vampires (it’s a wolf thing), she does at least try to make an effort. “You’re welcome, by the way. Happy that my blood helped y’all out.”

fluttery velvets move sideways as she gives the petrova girl a look of annoyance. [ is it really annoyance? or perhaps jealousy? you've always been envious of the legend that is katherine pierce. when will they love you like they love her? ]. her golden ringlets cascade in a distracted sweep as she exhales. her breath an exasperated sigh swallowed by the cold autumnal breeze that rustled through aureate leaves—the only sign of life amidst a desolate stillness. there seemed to be no one else but them here, a stage set for their private show. the shadows bearing witness as they tear each other apart. yet she knows the illusion of stillness is precisely that—a ruse to mislead.
@girldox asked:    i think it's better if you let me do the talking. [FOR REBEKAH, FROM KATHERINE].
Tumblr media
amber hues flicker back to katherine. tracing the path of her raven-dark locks, the crimson pout of her lips, and that infuriatingly beguiling smile. katherine has been stringing her brothers along for decades. she will not ensnare her as well. [ no matter how hard it is to resist. truly. is it desire or envy that tugs at you? do you want to be her? or do you want her? ]. ❛❛ OH PLEASE. when has anything remotely clever left your mouth? what's your plan? to wear them down with pointless chatter until their trousers drop? ❜❜

@2005jesuschrist [rebekah]: i love a good party.
“i take it you’ve enjoyed yourself.”    a smile graces bruce’s face, the apples of his cheeks blossoming as he situates himself beside the blonde.  fingers holding a champagne flute, it’s brought to his lips before taking a small tap— nothing more than he can handle.  the grandiose ballroom hosting the annual wayne enterprises charity gala is beginning to thin out, his irises watching from the balcony above; guests starting to retreat to their personal vehicles and hail taxis.  once all they were gone, he would return to wayne manor and don the cowl, slinking into the shadows for the remainder of the evening.  gotham never sleeps.  (he rarely does anymore.)  although, something tells bruce that rebekah has other plans, for both of them.  call it an inkling.  or the repetition of past annual charity galas over the last two years.     “have you made any plans for the evening?”

hii could you maybe to caregivers davina and kol with a little reader please :)
Caregivers Davina Claire and Kol Mikaelson Headcannons
Tumblr media
Little female witch reader x Momma Davina and Daddy Kol
Davina would be called Momma
Kol would be called Daddy
You would definitely be a Momma's girl, but just as much of a Daddy's girl as well
Davina's top pet name for you is; baby girl
Kol’s top pet name for you is; little witch
You can do no wrong in Kol’s eyes and he would most definitely join in making mischief with you
Davina sometimes feeling as if she has two littles because of the vampire menace that's her husband
Kol will give you piggy back rides and vamp around the house and backyard while you giggle
Your Momma will definitely be the one cooking the food because Kol can barely even make a pb&j, let alone a whole meal
^Though he can scoop ice cream and that's what you guys have for meals if Davina's not there
You end up in their bed half the time through the night, cuddled up between your Daddy and Momma
Davina would read you stories from books while you're cradled on her lap, and your head resting on her chest
Snuggling at any time>>>>
Getting your Daddy to dress up and have tea parties with you while Davina takes pictures for incriminating evidence and maybe blackmail for later against her husband
^seriously, this man will be wearing a tiara, a feather boa, having his pinky stuck out and everything. Anything to make his little girl happy
Waking them up by jumping on their bed
If you're crying, best be ready for your Momma and Daddy to be there by your side right away, comforting you and calming you down
Mommy and me time when Kol is forced to go to family meetings (courteously of Elijah)
^you guys always have an awesome time, you love being with your Momma
She teaches you some spells to grow flowers and such
^she had banned Kol from ever teaching you magic again after he taught you how to make flame circles to appear wherever you wanted and how to blow something up with your mind (rip to the toaster)
You love listening to your Daddy's heartbeat as you fall asleep again his chest
Davina has to physically stop Kol from ripping someone who looks at you for too long - no one gets to look at his little witch like that
Immediately cheering your Momma and Daddy up by just walking into the room
Only being allowed to get babysat by Elijah, Rebekah, or Marcel. They don't trust anyone else (cough Klaus cough)
Watching all the Harry Potter movies in one day because you love watching the movies with them, especially when you're in little space
Being super cuddly when you're regressed all the way
Having basically a death grip on either one of them if you fall asleep next to or on them
Giving your Daddy kisses on the forehead because he does that to you all the time

Shadow and Sin: Chapter 8
Tumblr media
Elijah Mikaelson, Klaus Mikaelson x Female Reader
Summary: Having just recently moved to New Orleans, you get intimately acquainted with both Mikaelson brothers and don't find out who they are until it's too late.
This Chapter: Elijah gets answers about the attack while Klaus confronts you about playing hot and cold.
Warnings: Sexual References, Love Triangle, Infidelity (kind of), Lying, Manipulating, Love Bombing, Stalking, Alcohol, Face-Grabbing, Violence
Word Count: 2.6k+
Read the rest of the story HERE
Niklaus had always been cruel, ruthless and rash; often leaping before he looked, especially when it came to his own aspirations for accumulating power. Elijah had reluctantly grown accustomed to it over the centuries, always expecting a certain medieval level of mayhem, but being careless enough to put your life at risk was something he couldn’t allow to happen again. He knew that if he wanted answers and solutions, he had to approach his brother with caution, careful not to tip his hand too much toward his hidden truth.
“You know, I was beginning to worry when I didn’t hear you come in last night.” Niklaus feigns a tone of concern as he hears his brother’s footsteps echo against the walls of the courtyard, keeping his back to him as he pours two glasses of whiskey from the decanter. “I wonder what could have kept you burning that midnight oil for so long.”
Oh god, he knows… but maybe not.
“If you must know, I was busy cleaning up one of your messes in the quarter.” Elijah unbuttons his suit jacket as he approaches his brother from behind, trying to sound more annoyed than worried.
If he lets slip, even for a second, that he might have the inkling of a paramour, Niklaus would surely make it his business to find you and rip you to shreds right in front of him. He’s done it dozens of times to Rebekah’s lovers over the centuries, and to the very few women that Elijah has chosen to love by the light of day. The curse of his brother’s rage has bound Elijah to a life of secrecy when it comes to his romantic endeavors, dwindling them down to very few candidates and then eventually… to nothing.
“I’m afraid you’ll have to be a little more specific than that.” Niklaus turns around and hands him one of the glasses, a cunning smirk curling at his lips. “Getting the vampires of the city to clean up the streets after Marcel’s reign has turned into quite the tedious endeavor.”
“Niklaus, I do hope that you show a little more decorum when trying to control the human faction and their justice system in the future.” He quickly takes the glass from him and looks into his brother’s eyes, searching for any hint of remorse while finding none. “The whole point of intimidation is to keep them alive and… intimidated. The last thing we need is to draw attention from the authorities to a dead lawyer and his companion. He isn’t just some idle tourist.”
“Well, it’s hardly my fault that he wasn’t willing to comply with our long standing agreement, now is it?” He takes a sip of his whiskey and leans back against the bar, wondering why his brother is so bent out of shape over some measly lawyer’s life. He could easily be replaced by the next zombie in a suit to graduate from Tulane University, or anywhere else, really. “I simply told Isaac to make him forget my name and his curiosity about our family. Who am I to micromanage his methods of ensuring that result?”
So he DID give the order.
“So you condone this behavior in Marcel’s… in your new lackeys?” Elijah takes a breath, pointing a finger at him while the others grip his glass. “Compliance at any cost?”
“Why? Did the poor, insufferable attorney meet an unfortunate end?” Niklaus grins so wide that it wrinkles the skin around his ice cold eyes, making him look more mad than ever.
“Not quite. If I hadn’t intervened, he and the girl may very well have.” He takes a slow sip, waiting to see how his brother will react to the news of an innocent bystander getting in the way.
“Oh Elijah, always the hero, aren’t we?” Niklaus downs the rest of his drink and slams it loudly onto the bar, those chilling eyes now fixated on his brother’s expression. “What girl?”
Elijah utters a low growl of irritation to disguise just how grateful he is for the obvious confirmation that Austin was his only intended target. Niklaus appears not to have any idea that you’d be with him when he ordered the attack, the truth written plain as day across his face.
At least there’s that.
“It doesn’t matter.” He lies with a clench of his jaw, forcing himself to take another sip of the whiskey in an attempt to hide his face from his sibling. “I compelled them both to make sure they won’t be a problem in the future.” He hopes his embellishment is simple enough, even if the truth only applies to him grabbing hold of your brother and telling him to run home as fast as he could. “To keep our alliance with that faction strong.”
“Oh? And what of dear Isaac and good ole ‘what’s his name’? Is that their blood that’s ruined your precious Versace suit, brother?” He looks him over and grabs onto Elijah’s sleeve, noticing how completely stained it is with blood before bringing it up for both of them to see. “You fed someone?”
Memories of last night push themselves ahead of Elijah’s need for self preservation, the image of your face in his hands, illuminated by precious moonlight lingering in his imagination as Niklaus’ grip tightens around his wrist. He hadn’t anticipated things to escalate so quickly with you, but there was dried blood in your hair that needed washing, and only he could be sure to get all of it out for you.
How could he have known that you would offer to wash the blood off his body in return, inviting him into the warm mist of the shower along with you? How could he have predicted how perfect you’d feel in his arms, the euphoric sensation of your bare skin beneath his fingertips or your heart beating wildly against his? Water had never felt so good as it washed all the blood off your bodies, merging you two together in a blissful baptism of blood and sweat before it all washed away in a chorus of muffled moans. He never thought you’d open up to him so quickly, letting him rest beside you in your bed once you were both cleansed of the night’s horrors, but he certainly wasn’t complaining.
“Who was it?” Niklaus brings Elijah’s wrist closer to his face, nostrils flaring as he inhales the unique scent that you’d left on his sleeve as you fed, his pupils dilating before his irises glow a bright, infernal yellow.
He has to bury that thought, quickly.
“I ripped the hearts from your inept henchmen’s chests before they nearly killed the girl.” Elijah rips his arm from his brother’s grasp, his eyes narrowing as that fiery hue leaves the hybrid’s gaze. “I suggest you reel the rest of them in before things get too messy and we have to flee the city once more.”
—————————
The next few days were a hazy blur for you, trying to get ahold of your brother only to find out that you’d shattered the screen on your phone into a hundred pieces during the attack in the alley. You decided that you’d go and check on him after your slew of shifts at the hospital, counting down the hours as they passed while your patients slept surprisingly peacefully in their rooms.
After making your midnight rounds, you notice a new piece of artwork hanging at the end of the hall, the abstract painting bringing back all those deliciously heated feelings you have buried deep inside you reserved especially for Klaus. You approach it slowly, thinking that you might have lost your mind from all the trauma and sleep deprivation, but no, you’re sure of it; it’s definitely the painting that you and Klaus did together.
“You haven’t been returning my calls.” That sweet melody of his accent tightens the muscles in your abdomen, reminding you of the ache he once caused between your thighs. “If I were a weaker man, I might take offense to something like that, but luckily for you I’m very secure in my manhood.” His smile is laced with venom as he confidently takes the corner toward you.
“Klaus.” His name feels like a curse on your tongue as he catches you by surprise, that slow smirk spreading across his sinfully handsome face. “What are you doing here?”
“I thought you’d be happier to see me.” He postures with his arms spread wide, his wingspan more than impressive. “I’m delighted to see you.”
“Look, I’m sorry, but my phone literally shattered to pieces the other day, and I just haven’t had time to go get it fixed.” You pull it out of your pocket to show him, knowing that he’d want physical proof. “And I’m at work, you can’t just… show up randomly and hang our painting for everyone here to see!” You lower your voice and look around the unit, realizing that there’s no one else around to hear you.
“Oh, I assure you, I can. I had hoped that you’d come by to see it in person, maybe even paint another one with me, but I understand that you’re busy with this little hobby of yours. This way you can always see our masterpiece and think of our time together, even when you’re here fighting the good fight against the inevitable clutches of death.” He smugly glances over at the crash cart before taking the stethoscope off your neck and putting it into his ears, pressing the bell against your chest. “My, your heart is racing!”
“Give me that!” You rip it off him, hurriedly placing it back onto your shoulders. “And that’s not fair. I wanted to come back, I was going to come and see it… eventually.”
How can you tell him that you’ve spent the last few nights with Elijah stroking your hair until you fall asleep? That a vampire who rips hearts out of people’s chests is able to make you feel safe and cared for?
“Eventually? Well, why the delay, love? Was it something I said? Something I did?” He smirks with a tilt of his head, his voice salacious and low. “After a night like that, I thought you’d be begging for more.”
“My brother and I,” you start shakily, “We were attacked a few nights ago, and I’m still a bit shaken up about it. So I’ve been picking up extra shifts here to stay out of trouble.”
“Attacked?” He exaggerates his feigned surprise with a raise of his eyebrow as he starts stepping toward you. “You and your brother, is it?” His tone lightens as he recognizes your familial bond with the man he ordered his men to silence, relieved that it isn't a romantic one.
“Yes.” Your legs instinctively move backwards in a mirrored motion with each stride that he takes, the heat between you building more than ever. “That’s what I said.”
“Attacked by what, exactly?” He pries further with that velvety voice of his. “A witch? A werewolf? A vampire?” He continues to advance on you, only stopping as your back hits the wall, forcing a tiny gasp out of you.
“A vampire,” you whisper, looking up into his darkening eyes as you feel his hand on your hip, pushing you against the wall a little too roughly. “You knew they were real this whole time, didn’t you?”
“Knew about them?” He smirks, seeming completely unphased by the conversation. “Love, I am one of them, have been for over a thousand years now.”
“A thousand years?” You ask, trying to ignore the stirring heat that burns bright inside your core. You wish that the time you’d spent with Elijah could wash away the feelings you have for Klaus, that his heroic actions would cancel out the obsessive pull you feel whenever you draw the same breath as him. But you can’t fight it, no matter how hard you try, and you absolutely hate yourself for it. You welcome the idea of blaming your desire for him on his supernatural powers of seduction, but part of you is afraid that it’s something more, something deeper than that. “But I’ve seen you in the daytime, I’ve watched you drink alcohol and coffee. I’ve seen your reflection in the mirror before.”
“I know it’s a hard pill to swallow, sweetheart, that you’ve been trying to convince yourself that the stories couldn’t possibly be true, but it happens to everyone before the veil is finally lifted. I knew you’d be able to handle it better than anyone else, and I can see that you’ve finally surrendered yourself over to it. So why don’t you tell me more about what happened that night? About what convinced you to embrace the truth?”
Damn, he’s good.
“We were attacked by two vampires after dinner and drinks.” It sounds so stupid when you say it out loud, but after everything you’ve seen, you can’t deny it anymore. Klaus may be bold and out of line, but he’s right. You’re done fighting your logical subconscious over what folklore can easily explain. “One of them bit me.”
“Mmmm, really?” He hums a tune of concern, grabbing onto your neck with his free hand and cautiously looking you over. “That’s funny, I don’t see any bruises or marks.”
“Another vampire came in and saved us, he gave me his blood.” You try to keep your story simple, careful not to use Elijah’s name or seem too familiar with him, lest you get found out. “He said it would heal me.”
“Did he, now?” His lips seem to take on that hypnotic quality as his voice drops down to a dangerous whisper, tempting you to lean in and kiss him. “And how did that make you feel, hmmm? Swallowing another man’s blood as it dripped down that throat of yours?”
“I was dying in an alleyway, Klaus.” You cut him off sharply, letting your anger finally break the spell of his seduction. “Where the fuck were you?” You attempt to push him off you with a huff before he grabs onto your wrists, quickly pinning them above your head with one hand.
“You don’t think I wanted to be there?! If I had known that you were in danger?” He raises his voice, despite his close proximity. “You don’t think that I would have protected you at any cost? I’m here now to make sure you’re alright!”
“Yeah, because you’ve been doing such a stellar job of protecting me so far.” You roll your eyes as you try to break out of his grasp, failing miserably as he slams your wrists back harder against the wall. He looks at you as if he knows it will only excite you more, his scent surrounding you completely as his hips dig into your belly, triggering your hormones into overdrive.
“You think that I’m here just for some frivolous tryst?” His full lips desperately ghost over yours, wiping away all thoughts of Elijah entirely. “That I share my secrets of immortality to just anyone? I mean to protect you, to guide you, to please you. I want to embrace all the darkest parts of yourself that you haven’t even discovered yet, to spend an eternity painting portraits of you throughout the ages, your cheeks freshly red from the dozens of orgasms I’ve just given you as you lay in sheets of rich opulence.” He cups your cheek, his hand nearly trembling as his eyes finally glisten with remorse. “Please, just let me prove it to you, and then my brother won’t have to save you next time.”
Your heart drops into the bitter acid of your stomach. “Your brother?”

Hi, I hope your having a good day :)
Can I please request an elijah mikaelson x reader fic where they’re married and they met in maybe the 1500’s? She’s a figure skater and when everyone was spending time together outside she was doing tricks for Hope?
Tumblr media
Ice
Fun fact: I was a figure skater from age 4 to 17, I still skate during my free time☺️
Paring: Elijah Mikaelson x reader but mostly Hope x Aunt!reader
Short and sweet🤍
Warnings: absolutely none.
You and Elijah lived in the countryside of Tennessee. You both wanted nothing more than a quiet life together after the ordeal in New Orleans. Married since 1510, you and Elijah have seen and done it all together. You didn’t have children and it was something you’ve both longed for but with Hope around, it made things easier, and happier.
It was Christmas, Klaus and Hope came to visit for the holidays, along with Rebekah and Kol. Hope had just turned 6 and started to show interest in her Aunts hobby, ice skating. You were a professional figure skater and a trainer for fun.
For Christmas Hope had requested nothing but a pair of skates that matched your white ones, “I wanna be like Aunt Y/N!” She exclaimed when she asked for them, so when she opened her present that morning she screamed in delight.
Now after breakfast was served, you bundled little Hope up and she tore off to the pond that was now frozen for the season. You held both your skates and followed after her. She sits on the bench and you help her learn to tie them up, “just like that, keep crossing until you can’t anymore then you tie them like a regular shoe.” You say with a smile, watching her tie her other skate up.
You hold onto her hand as she takes her first push on ice, “good job!” You say. You hold both hands as you slowly skate backward pulling her forwards with you.
She giggles, “I wanna try on my own!” She says. She’s always been independent, wanting to learn on her own with little help. So you let go and give her space. She falls quite a few times but doesn’t give up. By the 10th try, she skates halfway to you, “look!” She yells.
“I’m so proud! Look at you go!” You say clapping.
“I wanna watch you do your tricks!” She exclaims and falls again, but she stays down and looks up at you. You smile and start simple with a twirl, then a simple jump. “Do the jump-twirling thingy!” She claps in excitement. So you do it, and she’s amazed.
What you both don’t see is the siblings watching you, they are and always have been amazed by you. How you stuck through all the shit they’ve put you through. You wouldnt change it for the world though. Your love for Elijah was too big to show, and for his family? Just the same.
For hope though? You loved her like your own, you’d die to protect her just as you would for them. Elijah smiles at the sight. One day he hopes you both could adopt, maybe soon as things are safer here in your country home.
You end your show with a triple spin in the air and Hope raises her arms in the air and claps, “Yay! I can’t wait to be just as good as you.” She says carefully getting up and Skating to you and latching on your leg for support.
“Practice and patience. You can do it!” You say.

Y/N POV
Three days. That's how long it took the original family to get me acquainted with everything that happened in those missing years. They found a new member of the family, killed their parents (and crazy aunt) again, and ruled New Orleans just like "in the old, good times." That was too much information to get in that short time. Especially since I was drunk for half of it. Bekah and Kit-kat made the decision to get to know me and Freya by attending parties every night. It was fun at first. But when the hangover came to me the morning after, it wasn't funny anymore. At least I made a new friend.
"Earth to Y/N!" someone screamed at me and pushed, making me fall from the kitchen chair. I groaned in pain, rubbing my sore butt.
"Kol Mikaelson. Do you wish to die on this awful morning?"
"It's 11am." he replied, annoyed. The 10th-century maniac always started his day with the crowing of the hens. I was unworthy (or too lazy) to participate in this mystery of the rising sun.
"I told you. Morning."
"I'm sorry, but I, unlike others, have a real problem on my hands, and I don't have time to deal with your bitter, hangover attitude."
"I apologize for your grace. What is so important that you have to hurt people this morning? You broke one of Klaus' paintings or finally stole his precious daggers?"
"That's better." I gave him a stern look. "Relax, darling. I was joking."
"Not appreciated."
"God. I don't know why my brother likes you."
"Hey! Elijah is my friend; of course he likes me." I replied offended.
"Not these ones. And not in a platonic way." my amused, kind smile faded at his suggestion.
"You know what? I'm too hungry to… what did you say? Deal with your attitude?" I said with a mean smirk on my way out of the kitchen.
"No! Wait a second!" he used his vampire speed to stand before me. "I'll make you breakfast. Just help me."
"What will you cook?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Scrambled eggs?"
"I want waffles."
"Waffles?"
"Uhm. With cherry jam, whipped cream, and strawberries."
"You're going to be fat."
"And very happy. You don't want me to be happy?" I gave him my best puppy eyes.
"Alright, alright. Three waffles then." he agreed, heading to the cooker.
"Six." I corrected him, sitting down at the kitchen island across from him to watch him cook my food.
"Seriously?" he gave me an incredulous look.
"I told you. I'm hungry."
"My God, watch over your future husband."
"And his bank account." Kol burst out laughing as he started cooking my breakfast. "So? What can I help you?"
"It worked. I have a real date with Davina."
"Congratulations." I nodded as I poured myself a glass of orange juice.
"Thank you. But now, as she said yes, I have to make this day unforgetable and amazing."
"I'm starting to worry about you. Are you feeling fine? How many fingers do you see?" I asked, showing him two fingers in front of his face. He snorted, pushing my hand away.
"This is very funny, but I need your help."
"Why me? I mean, you have two older sisters and two older brothers who have probably been in many more relationships than me. They know how to flirt better than me." I inquired, feeling uncomfortable about assisting a 1,000-year-old vampire in picking up a girl when the number of my ex-boyfriends was limited to only one.
"Oh, you'd be surprised…" he says, looking at me with a little smile. "Maybe they have some... romantic experience, but they are over a thousand years old. And Davina is from these times, like you. You know what I'm trying to say?"
"Usually? No. But let's say this time I understand that you called your sibling pensioners. So, tell me something about your girl. I need to know her likes."
~•♤♤♤•~
*After some time*
"I think that's all." he handed me my food, looking at me expectantly.
"Well... I think you shouldn't take her on your first date to any fancy restaurant, cinema, or theater."
"Then what?"
"You're a good cook. Make her something and go boating on the river at night. You know stars and constellations, tell her about them after dinner. But don't make yourself a genius, women usually don't like this."
"Do you think that's enough?"
"You can scatter rose petals on the deck and decorate it with lights. But definitely don't take the poor girl to Paris, or you'll overwhelm her. Save something special for significant dates, like big anniversaries or something."
"You sure?"
"Trust me, women like it when a man makes an effort. She'll be delighted if you do everything yourself. A pampered vampire prince flying around town to fulfill her every little whim and do something special for her? She will love it."
"Vampire prince?"
"Please... like your family doesn't act like royalty."
"Does that mean I'm the king, love?" Klaus came to the kitchen with a little girl in his arms. God. This man looked too hot while he was holding a child.
"Absolutely not. But this sweetheart in your arms is a true princess. Yes, Hope?" I asked, giggling, when she started laughing after I tickled her. I was so fascinated by the sweet child that I didn't notice the look a holding her hybrid was giving me.
"If I remember correctly, this is not your babysitting week. Have you been stealing her from Hayley for three days because you missed her, or do you have another reason, brother?" Kol asked, snapping me out of my trance. This child could easily charm people around her.
"Did you steal her?" I asked indignantly.
"I am her father, love." he replied, looking at me offended.
"What's your point?"
"I can't steal my own child."
"Well, since you don't get along too well with her mother, I believe you can. Did he steal you, angel?" I asked her as she started to grab my hair in her little hand, forcing Klaus to lower himself to my level so the little princess wouldn't fall out of his arms.
"No, I don't. Hayley knows where she is. You two don't have to worry." I gave him a chair so he could sit next to me and not have to do gymnastics with the little troublemaker he held.
He sat her on his lap so she had better access to my bracelets, which turned out to be her next interest. I giggled as I watched her mumble over the pendant of a silver witch flying on a broomstick towards a diamond moon. A birthday present from her father. Talking about the hybrid, he also probably appreciated the selection of my jewelry.
"May you be more like your mother, sweetheart. It would have saved her a lot of nerves." I said to her, taking the pendant away just as it was about to go to her mouth. She screamed something in her language and grabbed my finger instead, trying to drop it with her gums.
"She must have been teething." I thought, not even noticing the gentle, lovely gaze the hybrid was giving me while holding the baby.
"She has the look of the devil in her eyes. That's all me, love." I shifted my gaze to the girl's father.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
"I think we already talked about nights and beds. Did you reconsider my invitation?" he asked, smiling and leaning closer to me.
"Don't talk to me like that with a little baby in your arms. It may be traumatizing for her. Just like for me." I replied, pretending to tremble with disgust.
Kol's snort reminded both of us of his presence.
"I told you, Nik. The baby trick doesn't work on her when your baby is cuter than you. You have to find another way into her cold heart."
"Don't you have a girl to chase?" I asked, shooting him a stern look. Did each of them have to be joking about our improbable romance?
"Actually, I do Y/N." Kol came over to us, kissed Hope on the cheek, and did the same to me. Klaus's quiet growl didn't go unnoticed. "Bye darling!"
"Stop calling me like that, you're a taken man!" I shouted after him. "Idiot. What?" I asked the hybrid, who was staring at me with a strange, unfamiliar look in his eyes.
"H e did you breakfast?" he asked with a cold, impassive tone, trying to cover his emotion.
"Yeah. He wanted help, so I made him do something useful in return."
"Oh, I see. Were that cheek kiss and "taken man" talk also part of your generous help." his resentment became more audible in his voice with each passing second. He was angry. But why the fuck?
"What's wrong with you? Kol and I are friends if you expect me to act like we don't..."
"Are you two just friends?" he immediately cut me off, not caring to hear what I was about to say.
"No. We're secretly married, and I'm expecting his child. I'm madly in love with him." I said sarcastically as I was about to leave the kitchen. I didn't like the direction this conversation was going.
"Y/N." Mikaelson's firm tone of voice and the use of my name instead of his usual "love" told me he wasn't joking or playing a game after all.
I turned and took a step closer to him, so our chests met. Hope's legs were hitting me a little as she waved them around, muttering something under her breath. His eyes were all on mine. Unwanted shivers ran through me.
"Kol fell for your town witch, Davina. I helped him plan a fantastic date. That's all. Don't misinterpret our actions. That's how we talk to each other. But even if we were something more, it wouldn't be your business. I'm not your toy that you can appropriate."
"I've never said you are. Don't misinterpret my actions."
"Are you using my own words against me?"
"I don't know, love. Did I?"
He gave me a challenging look, occasionally lowering his gaze to my lips. I stood there, never thinking about how close we were until his nose brushed mine. I couldn't give him the satisfaction of backing out. He'd never kiss me anyway, would he? We did a lot of stuff, true, but a real kiss was something neither of us could do as part of our "game." At least that's how I explained my suppressed desire to be close to him.
"NIKLAUS!" Elijah's yell immediately pulled us apart. I cleared my throat, reaching out to take the little one from him.
"I'll take her to the park. Maybe we even go to the playground, what do you think, Hope? Do you want to swing with auntie Y/N?"
"I'll try my best to come to you two as fast as I can." he said, and gave me his child.
He took a moment to look at both of us, and before he left, he kissed Hope on the head. Little bastard had to give me a "goodbye kiss" in the exact same place as Kol did. And just to be clear, I wasn't blushing.
Blood just suddenly ran into my face and made me red like a tomato. Just it. It had nothing to do with a kiss from the original.

3rd PERSON POV
"I hope you had a good reason to call for me, because I was that close to finally making this little, stubborn witch kiss me."
Klaus ran into a library to meet his elder brother. It appeared that he wasn't alone. Kol was right behind Elijah, proudly smiling at him. That little bastard tricked him.
"What's going on here?"
"Kol told me about your..."
"Using our niece to flirt with Y/N. How do you plead from that?" Kol chimed in on his older brother's words.
"I'm not going to talk with you about my relationship with Y/N."
"Which, by the way, doesn't exist at all." the blond man moved towards his younger brother, but the oldest Mikaelson's hand on his shoulder stopped him.
"Behave yourselves. Both of you."
"I'm sorry, brother, but as you can see, he's the one who has consistently sabotaged my plans for Y/N. Make him behave himself." he pointed an accusing finger at Kol.
"I'm trying to save you from making the great mistake of your life. As much as I love Y/N, she doesn't fit our lifestyle. If you started to date her, you'd put her in the middle of our enemies, old, crazy witches who want to kill us, or even worse, your ex-girlfriends. You'll ruin her, and she deserves something more than our family drama."
"And you, Elijah? Do you share his opinion?"
"It doesn't matter. We just... want you to reconsider your plans before it's too late."
"Yeah. Let's take Hayley as an example. She didn't end up well after a night with you. Or... both of you." Kol stopped as he saw his brothers' angry look. "Alright, that was the wrong example, but you know what I mean. She's just a human with superpowers. She wouldn't put up with all the pain that comes with being a Mikaelson."
"Yes? Then what would you say about Davina? Is she strong enough? How is she different from Y/N?"
"She was born here. From the beginning, she grew up among witches. Y/N has known our world for only 4 years. That's a short time even for a mortal."
"When exactly did you become the voice of reason in our family? I thought it was Elijah's responsibility."
"Well, someone has to, as long as he's enchanted by Petrova's charm. By the way, you're no better than him."
The hybrid was about to throw a dagger at the brazen original, but his phone rang. He gave his brother his most terrifying look and went out of the room, taking the call.
"Oh my god, I miraculously escaped this. I'm never playing bad cop in your plan again, Petrova!"
"Do you think it will really work?" Elijah asked, completely ignoring his brother's nervous outburst.
"Of course, honey. We all know that he hated when someone tried to control him or give him an order. He'll run straight to her and admit his feelings right after he deals with the new vampire group. Let's hope Y/N finally tells him how she really feels about him." Katerina stepped out of the shadows, embracing her fiancé before kissing him on the cheek (to Kol's groan of disgust).
"How did you know where he went?"
"I could convince Rebekah to turn some vampires against Klaus and Marcel to keep them busy for the rest of the afternoon. Which will give me enough time to implement plan B."
"Which is?"
"What kind of matchmaker would I be if I told you before anything really happened? Trust me, they will be officially together on the day of our wedding at the latest." she said, then kissed the smiling original passionately, not caring that they had company in the room.
"Ugh! That's too much, even for me. Get a room or something before another innocent soul sees that. Before I go. Are we still on for tonight?"
"Yes. Me and Rebekah will help you with this date, but we are not cooking. Only decorate."
"Thanks. Play nice and use protection!" he shouted as he left, causing his brother to blush. Katerina laughed, kissing the vampire's rosy cheek.
"Wanna help me set up your stupid brother with Y/N?" she inquired, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
"Why exactly are you helping him? I thought you hated him?"
"Well, besides wanting to score points in your eyes and be able to point it out to him every chance I get, I think it would be nice to have Y/N with us permanently. She's a good friend."
"It's nice to see that you're starting to think not only about yourself but also about others around you." he replied, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Well, if you come upstairs with me, I can show you how much I think about others… pleasure."
"Are we alone?"
"Mhmm..." the original picked her up in bridal style, causing the younger vampire to laugh as he carried her up the stairs.

Y/N POV
Damon called me for the fourth time that day. I have been successful at ignoring him and playing with Hope. At least until Katherine didn't join us and took my phone to hang him up.
"What does he want? I thought your group fell apart?" she asked, putting my phone back in my pocket.
"Well... let's say we are on a break." I said, trying to get my hair out of Hope's grip to set the girl on the swing.
"Do they know where you are?"
"No. Actually, I only wrote to Bonnie to say that I'm safe and she doesn't have to worry about me."
Now that I think about it, none of them took an interest in my fate. Only Bonnie. On the other hand, it didn't bother me at all. I already had people who cared about me.
Damon called again, causing Kat to grimace in annoyance.
"Please, can I pick up your phone and tell him to fu..."
"Katherine! There're children here!" I cut her off before the curse reached Hope's ears. Klaus would kill me if his daughter's first words were "fuck".
"Atherine!" I froze in place, stopping swinging the girl. Now, I think he'd rather hear that her first word was curse than Katherine.
"Ha ha. You should see your face!" the woman laughed as she continued swinging Hope.
"But... how... when... What?" I mumbled, still in shock.
"Please, I taught her my name a long time ago. That's how I won Kol's collection of wine." I felt a stone fall from my heart. I was safe. "But this is the first time she told it in front of someone other than me and Kol, so... I don't think that Klaus knew." a mischievous smirk grew on her face. Well, I guess I'll be dead after all.
"No. Absolutely not. It'll break his heart if he hears that's her first word." I stopped the swing and crouched down to be at Hope's height. "C'mon Hope. Say daddy."
"Y/N... continue like that, and Klaus would rather listen to you calling him daddy than his own child." Katherine began to tease, making my face flush uninvitedly. If I was screwed anyway, why did she have to kick me down?
"Stop it. It's a serious situation. I took her for a walk, what should I do when we return and she starts calling your name?!"
"Well, if you try to use this daddy line on him..."
"Katherine!" I stood up and yelled at the laughing vampire.
"Atherine!" she cried, waving her arms happily.
"No sweetheart. Dad. Daddy. Dada. Dad." I knelt in front of the baby once again, practically begging her to help me in my unfair battle with amused Katherine.
"That's not how you teach a child."
"And how should I know that? I'm 20 with no siblings. Hope is the first child I care for. Thinking about that, I'm surprised that Klaus even gave her to me."
"From the first seconds of her life, this little one has had a 24-hour survival school. One afternoon with an inexperienced aunt wouldn't kill her." She stopped seeing how upset I was. She took my arm and made me look into her eyes. "Hey. Do not panic. Nothing happened. I will teach her, and Klaus will never know. You don't have to worry."
"Are you sure?" I asked, looking at her unconvincingly.
"I did it once. I can do it again. In the meantime, you can go pick up alcohol for the wedding from the bar across the street."
"Did you order alcohol from the bar? Doesn't your fiancé happen to have an age-old collection of all sorts of liquors?"
"Yes, but it is not an inexhaustible well. Kol insisted that we have to start restocking our supplies this year, and for every bottle we take, he makes us add new ones. It's not my fault that moron likes a special recipe that they only make at this particular bar."
"The Mikaelsons and their picky palates." I mumbled under my breath, kissing Hope's head before leaving her alone with aunt Katherine.
I breathed a sigh of relief as I left the playground. If Klaus finds his daughter with Katherine, at least she'll be to blame for the little girl shouting her name in fascination.
Or he'll have a heart attack. Maybe it's better to warn him.
Hello half-wolfie. I just want to let you know that the little princess is with Her Majesty. Don't get mad when you see them two - I have to go and take care of the wedding (which you're not helping me with at all, Mr. Best Man). I'm getting alcohol and rings, so you're responsible for flowers and food. Good luck! :)
Mr. Big Ego: I hope you know what you're doing. Also, if flowers and food aren't a woman's thing to do?
I'll turn a blind eye to this horrible sexist discrimination just because you're probably miles away and my magic won't reach you. Back to the topic. You're an artist, and you have a pretty good sense of style, so I believe you'll do just fine. Besides, you're quite handsome. Use your charm on the women, and they'll do the job for you.
Mr. Big Ego: Thanks for the advice, I'm just trying to use it in case you hadn't noticed. ;)
My God, are you getting senile blindness? I wrote that you're "quite handsome," not "incredible hot." You've got to find a desperate woman, so go and do your job, because I'm not going to do shitwork for you, LOVE. :-*
Mr. Big Ego: I'd rather read how you call me that under other circumstances... :-/
Take what they give you.
Mr. Big Ego: We both know I can get a lot more out of you. Like those tempting, little moans a couple days ago...
Don't you happen to have something urgent to do, your grace?
Mr. Big Ego: Nothing is more important than you (and Hope). Until we meet again, my love. <3
"Boyfriend?" woman's voice brought me back to earth. I looked around, realizing I was under the bar and blocking the entrance. I was annoyed that I couldn't stop smiling since I began writing to the hybrid.
"He wishes." I replied as I put my phone away and entered the bar.
I headed straight for the bar, hoping to settle this as soon as possible and get back to my girls. I loved Katherine, but the desire to spite Klaus might outweigh her good-natured offer. I wanted to make sure she didn't teach Hope anything terrible (like "Kol," for example).
Fortunately, the bar wasn't that crowded, so I was able to get to the barmaid without any problems.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. My friend ordered some of your drinks for her wedding. I promised her I would get them. It should be booked for Petrova or Mikaelson."
"Oh yes. I know. I am Cami. It's nice to finally meet you. After all the stories I've heard about you, I feel like we've known each other for a long time."
"Klaus' psychotherapist? I thought it was at least a full-time job." the blonde giggled.
"Let's say he's making progress."
"Which doesn't explain how you know me. Is Klaus talking about me all the time, again and again? I must be the real bane of his existence."
"Actually, he's very fond of you."
"Fond of me? In what universe?"
"Wanna have a drink?"
My first thought was to say no, but the barmaid poured me a drink before I could decline her offer.
Maybe one drink won't hurt me.
~•♤♤♤•~
"Have you never been in love?" Cami asked after serving me another tequila.
In those few hours (and probably 2 bottles used to make me a drink) the blonde went back to the topic of Klaus's untrue feelings for me. Forcing me, in a way, to talk about my love conquests. I was sure that they were not as diverse and interesting as hybrids.
"I was. Long time ago. We did all these stupid, cheesy things together. Stargazing in the forest on top of his car, swimming in the lake at night, dancing in the rain. He was my date at prom. We even won the king and queen contest. But the point is that my personal experience tells me that loving him wasn't worth it at all."
"And why is that?"
"Because my boyfriend—the man I'd been dating since we were ten years old—broke up with me via fucking SMS on my 18th birthday."
"Oh."
"Yes. Oh. And please don't give me any therapist speech about that: "He was the problem, not me." I got over him a long time ago." I said, taking a sip of my drink to avoid her sympathetic gaze.
"Then why don't you want to give a chance to someone new?" I mean, it's been proven that a new relationship and crush can aid in the healing of broken hearts."
"Well, I'm assuming you can't heal something that doesn't exist anymore. Also I don't need any new love in my life; I have my friends, and they are giving me enough of it."
"For now, but what will happen if one day you would like to have your own family? A person who'll choose you above everything else in their life?"
"Please, don't even tell me that Klaus fits into this "ideal" husband-to-be for me." the woman sighed, rubbing her forehead. I smiled victoriously, knowing that I had won over Klaus' therapist and that Katherine's little ruse had failed.
"To be honest, I shouldn't do that, but desperate times and all of that." the blonde took out a small dictaphone from her pocket and played a recording after a few clicks. "A week before Elijah and Katherine's engagement party."
"All right. Let's talk about something else. How do you feel about your brother getting married to Katherine?"
"Stupid question. Of course I'm happy for him. Even if his partner leaves much to be desired."
"Well, I've heard something different."
"And what exactly?"
"That you're grumpier than usual and growl at every poor soul around you. There are also many stories in the city about you. You've gone mad because you're secretly in love with Katherine, and that's why you don't want them to get married. But my personal favorite is that you tried to steal the ring from Elijah and sell it on Amazon."
"I admit I was more… moody in the passing days, but all is well now. I'm really happy for them. Very."
"Are you sure your mood swings have nothing to do with Y/N?"
"Veto."
"Come on. We need to finally talk about her. It's the perfect time."
"You're not going to let this topic go, are you?"
"Not as long as she is an important person in your life. Rebekah told me she had an impact on you. You tried to be a better man for her! I thought only Hope had that power over you."
"Do not say that. She'd be overjoyed to learn she has any power over me."
"Would it be wrong if she listened to how important she is to you?"
"Y/N and I are… complicated. We actually never say nice things to each other. I don't even know why Rebekah told you about her."
"Your sister said you loved her. You still do. Even after a year without receiving a single call, text, or email from her. I also saw her portraits in your art room. And pencil sketches. Maybe even some sculptures…"
"I see what you're saying, but it's not my fault she's… unimaginably, incredibly beautiful. I'm just admiring her charm. As an artist, it's my duty to try to capture the depths of her eyes. Or her sweet smile when she is laughing at stupid little things she admires. That's true. I have many pictures of her, because despite my tireless efforts, I have not succeeded in presenting her beauty in a proper way. There are no paints that match the color of her eyes and hair, not even talking about her probably soft, delicate skin. No canvas big enough for her portrait will ever make me forget her or stop imagining her every time I close my eyes. She is always in my darkest nightmares or in my sweetest dreams. Every single day, she steals my thoughts, so that sometimes I find myself thinking that she is here, chasing me around my own city to make me want her more than I already do. I'm disgusted at how easily I succumbed to the magic of her charm. And the worst part is that she didn't even have to use her power to make me enchanted with herself. It looks like she has to mess with me even when she isn't around."
"I think it's enough." she said, pausing. I stared at the recorder for a good few minutes, analyzing what I had just heard. "I'll leave you with that for a while and see if Steve has already sent you crates of alcohol. Take your time."
I took a sip of my tequila. It's impossible for him to have feelings for me, right? He has a child, a city to rule, and I… I'm only 20. I don't have so much on my mind, and I wouldn't find myself in a life like his. It's something else to spend here a month than… half of my life. And even if I wanted to be with him (assuming we really love each other), I would have to become a vampire.
As if my life wasn't already complicated enough without knowing the hybrid's supposed feelings for me.
At least it can't get any worse.
"Y/N? Is that you?" Fuck. I take that back.
"Tom." I said after I turned to the place where his voice had come from. My worst fears came true.
"It's you."
"Yeah. It's me." I replied, not sharing his delight and amazement. Meeting my ex was the last thing I wanted to do after hearing Camille's recording. As if I didn't have a mess in my head anyway.
"It's good to see you."
"You don't have to lie." I replied, turning back to the bar. Not trusting his words even a little bit.
"I'm not. To be honest I… I missed you."
"What?" I asked, eyeing him properly for almost two years.
He has changed. His dark hair, which was always combed and slicked back, was tousled in all directions, adding charm and feistiness to him. He had a slight stubble on his face, and judging by the obvious fatigue on his face, life had not been kind to him either.
"Can we go somewhere private and... you know, talk?" he asked tentatively, trying to grab my hand, but I pulled away from him.
"I'm sorry, but you're like, two bloody years late. We have nothing to talk about." I got up, intending to leave the bar as soon as it was possible, so I could free myself from him. What happened in the past should remain in the past. There was no point in re-entering the same river.
"Y/N! Wait a second, please! I know I screwed up then, but please, let me at least tell you why I had to do what I've done."
"The thing is... I don't care about it, Thomas. You abandoned me in the darkest, most difficult period of my life, when I desperately needed someone to care for me, without so much as a blink of your eye. You didn't have to explain this then, so I don't want to listen to it right now."
"I did it for your safety!"
"My safety?! Please spare me that pathetic excuse. You had two years to come up with something really good, and you went with: "I did it for your safety."
"Two years ago I turned to vampire, Y/N. Ripper to be precise."
"What? But who turned you? Damon?" I asked in shock, not believing that my sweet, darling Thomas could ever turn into one of them.
"I had an accident that was quite dangerous. I was on the edge of life, so they gave me vampire blood in the hospital to help me heal, but… it didn't go right. I woke up hours ago with that uncontrollable hunger. I could only think about human blood. I was too scared to get close to you or anyone else. Damon helped me get out of town, he sent me here so I could learn how to control myself."
"He didn't tell me anything. Not even a little word. And he had known all along when he saw me crying on his brother's shoulder." if I was angry at Damon before, I am mad as hell at him now. This son of a bitch didn't deserve any help from me.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I tought it'd be easier for you to forget about me if I... broke your heart."
"Do not flatter yourself. It takes so much more to break it. You weren't even close enough."
"I should know. You've always been the strongest person I've ever met."
"Don't act like you still care about me." I growled, moving backward with each step he took towards me, until I hit the wall behind me.
"Y/N. I have no idea what you've been through these two years, but all I know is that when I was gone, all I could find myself thinking about—all I could remind myself of my old life—was you and our time together. I've never stopped loving you, Y/N. I don't think I could ever do. But I had to leave. Otherwise, I could hurt you. Only here could I learn to control myself and my primal hunger for blood. The mere fact that somehow, from all places in the world, you found yourself here proves that we are meant for each other."
"Stop it. You can't just show up after a year and tell me all of this as if nothing happened. You left me. You break up with me by fucking SMS. Did you even know how it hurt me? You, of all people, promised me that we... we would last forever. And I believed you. I don't think I could ever trust you again."
"I know, honey. I know I fucked up, but all I can do right now is prove to you that I would never, ever leave you and hurt you like this again. Just give us one more chance."
"And what if I have someone? What if I've already found the one man who would never even consider hurting me? Who would rather tear the world apart than see me in pain?" I asked, staring hard into his eyes.
"Do you truly have that someone, honey?" he replied, rubbing a tear from my cheek with his thumb that had unknowingly flown from my eye.
"I... I..." I really would. But I don't know if I'll ever be able to tell him what I really want.
Before I could answer him, the dark-haired man came closer to me and connected our lips in a tender, longing kiss. I shivered as, for no reason, I felt watched.
What was truly terrifying to me was that I didn't feel anything but guilty. But I shouldn't be... right? I was a free, single woman.
Then why did I feel like I was doing something wrong? Why didn't I have any butterflies around my first love? Why all I could think about was how much better Klaus' lips would be on mine?
"Please, don't give up on us." he said, resting his brow on mine.
"Tommy I... I..." Why didn't I feel anything?
"Y/N? Are you okay?" I was almost glad to hear Camille's confused, worried voice. She must have noticed my red eyes from crying and possibly my makeup smudged by tears.
"Yes. Thomas was leaving, right?"
"Here. If you changed your mind." he slipped a piece of paper into my hand and kissed my forehead before obediently leaving the bar.
"Who was that guy? Does he hurt you? Should I call…"
"No! There's no need. Tom would never hurt me. Not deliberately." I cut her off before she could say HIS name. I didn't need another dose of confusion in my head.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I will come home. I think that's enough excitement for one day."
"Okay. I'll call you tomorrow. Just to check if everything is fine."
"There's no need." I responded, unaccustomed to the other's concern about me.
"You know I'm a good friend too. Not just a pseudo-therapist for a bloodthirsty millennial vampire." I smiled involuntarily, feeling some of my overwhelming emotion disappear after her little joke.
"I'll remember that for next time."
"Bye Y/N! It was nice to finally meet you." I waved to her as I crossed the exit from the bar.
As I turned to head towards the mansion, I noticed someone hiding in the darkness and staring at the bar's window. Someone who was as broken as I never imagined he could be.
Tumblr media
Shit. He saw us. But why did I care?
And then, when our eyes met, I knew that my decision about me and Thomas would be much harder than I had previously thought. And it was at this point in our game that Klaus and I had to finally define who we had to be to each other. It would be the hardest choice of my life.
A terrible (but true) thought crossed my mind.
I'm a freaking Elena Gilbert.

Rebekah's Cat
Word Count: 900 -1000+?
Rebekah's POV
I was walking the streets of New Orleans, minding my own business when I saw some boy hurting a little cat. I vamp myself over to them and grabbed the cat. "What do you boys think you're doing?" I asked the three of them. They looked up at me with fear, "uh... we wer... were" the smallest tried to speak, "just go" I rolled my eyes. "Make us" I tallest laughed, "go before I rip your voice box from your neck and do the same for your cold heart." My vampire side started to show. The tall one grabbed the other two and ran away. "Stupid boys" I laughed, then I looked in my arms. There was the cat I saved. They had a beautiful pure white coat. "Aren't you a beautiful..." I flipped the cat over to see it's gender, "girl" I smiled, flipping the cat back other.
This cat was so beautiful that I adopted them. I didn't ask or tell my family for a week. But now, to night was the night I told them about Yn. My "new" adopted cat.
"Rebekah, dinner is ready" I heard my older brother, Elijah call. I smiled and walked to my window. I opened it, and Yn quickly ran in. She jumped up into the room and sat on my bed. I closed my window and grabbed Yn. "I want you to hide downstairs until I call you" I told her, holding her close to my face. She nodded and I put her down, I opened the door and let her run across the hall. I walked out my room and close my door behind me.
"Ah, there you are Rebekah. What took you so long?" Kol asked, "I wasn't that long" I hit Kol's head. "Please, no fighting my mother asked, "ok" me and Kol said at the same time. "Hello family" I heard Klaus said as he walked in the room. He sat on the other side of me. "Can we eat all ready?" Kol wined, "eat" Mom said.
When we were all about done, I cleared my throat. "Yes, Rebekah?" My father questioned. "I have something to tell you" "and what is that, dear sister" Eiljah looked worried for me. "I... Well, more like I have someone I want you to meet. Yn" I called, and she came running to me from upstairs. "A CAT!?!" Kol questioned, "yes, I got a cat and her name is Yn"
"Aww, she's beautiful" Elijah smiled as he placed a piece of streak in his mouth. Yn walked over to Elijah and rubbed up against him. "Hello there Yn" he looked into her E/C eyes, she jumped up into his lap and sat. "I think she likes you Elijah" "I hope so" he pet her head.
Yn's POV
I jumped up into Elijah's lap and sat down. He was sweet to my owner Rebekah, so I'll be sweet to him. "I think she likes you Elijah" Rebekah smiled, "I hope so" he pet my head softly. I then looked across the table to see a dirty blonde man. I hoped off Elijah's lap and walked over to the dirty blonde one. "Hello there Luv" Luv? Luv... why would he said that? I jumped into his lap and sat down. I heard Kol chuckle and joke about how the dirty blonde man was being a big softie.
After dinner, everyone when to bed. I said good night to everyone and gave them a kiss on the cheek. Two for Kol and Elijah. Rebekah and I then went upstairs to her bed. Finally, I could sleep on the bed. I jumped up on it quickly and lay down, waiting for Rebekah to change into her sleep wear. When is was done, she crawled into bed and laid on her back. I crawled over slowly and laid on her chest. "Really" I laughed at me, I mowed in reposes.
3 Years Later...
Yn's POV
I have been living with the Mikaelsons for just little over a year, and they have never known my real form. Until to night
It was around 5 in the morning, and I needed some water. Fresh, ice-cold water is with I wanted. I looked up at Rebekah to make sure she was sleeping. And she was, and with that I jumped off the bed to the floor. I jumped up and turned the held, I fell down but landed on my feet. I then pawed at the open and slowed opened it. Finally, I thought to myself as I walked out the room. I walked out into the hall and down the stairs, quietly. It was dark, but because I was a cat, I could see in the dark.
When I got to the kitchen, I turned into my human form. I had clothes on of course, I'm not crazy. I stood up and walked to the cabinet, I opened it and grabbed a beautiful glass cup. Then I walked to the fringe.
after I filled my glass, I took the sip I needed. "Finally," I smiled, all of a sudden, the kitchen light cut on. I looked over at the entertainment of the kitchen and saw Klaus. Shit! I thought to myself before being pushed to one of the kitchen walks. "Who the fuck are you!?!" He grabbed my throat and had his other arm by his side, ready to attack. "What's going on!?!" I heard Mr. Mikaelson and the others running downstairs. "Who is that?" Mrs. Mikaelson yelled as she ran over. "Get your hands off the poor girl, Niklaus!" She pushed him a side, I fell to the floor catching my breathe. "Are you ok, dear?" She asked with question in her eyes. "Yea" I said nodded my head as I looked up at the others. "Who are you!" Klaus yelled about to attack again, but Elijah held him back. I got scared and transformed back into a cat before running to Rebekah for protection. She picked me up and hugged me, "did you see what I saw?!" "Yes, she's a shapeshifter" "you knew?!" Kol asked, "yep" she replied and hugged me again. "Please can she stay?" Rebekah asked her parents with hope her in her magical eyes. "Of course, dear" Ms. Mikaelson answered before anyone else. I jumped out of Rebekah's arms and transformed into my human form again. "Thank you, Mrs. Mikaelson" I smiled at her, "you're very pretty dear" she smiled back.
And ever since then, I been living with the Mikaelsons.

@therebekahmikaelson asked for a starter
Tumblr media
"You know, I used to wish I had siblings growing up, but you guys are making me rethink that," she tells Rebekah with a slight smile. Klaus had just stormed out of the Compound again, after the two of them had spent some time screaming at each other so loudly that the entire bayou could probably hear them, but Hope has come to realize that that's just how her father and aunt communicate with each other. By tomorrow, they would probably be back to jovial teasing and sarcastic comments. It's not something that Hope understood really, but it felt familiar to her all the same, like she couldn't imagine them being any other way. "Sometimes I think you rile him up on purpose. Isn't that what little sisters are supposed to do?"

Yammy's 1k Followers Celebration
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I finally hit 1k followers again on my new blog! I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to release my 1k followers celebration event, I've just been really unmotivated recently. Thank you all so, so much for getting me to 1k followers. I would not have got this far if it was not for all of you. So, since I have been a little unmotivated and have had writers block recently, there isn't going to be as much prompts for this one because I don't think I will be able to have a lot of prompts because of that.
I will have smut and fluff prompts for my 1k followers event and I will put the rules for this event down below.
Tumblr media
Event Start: Sunday, March 21st 2023
Event End: Sunday, March 26th 2023
Tumblr media
Rules
I ask that everyone please follows these rules if you are going to participate in my 1k followers event.
You can only select from the characters that are listed on this post. I a character or fandom is not posted then I'm most likely not writing for them for this event but, you can still ask if you're curious.
Please only do one prompt per request because, since I have writers block I find it much harder to write for multiple prompts in one fic but, eventually I'll be back to doing more than one prompt in a fic.
Also some people do this anonamysly but, please don't spam me multiple requests whether its anon or not. It's very overwhelming and a little annoying. You can of course request more than one but, please no spam.
If I write a fic too short, please don't come at me for it. It just depends on how much of an idea I have for the fic for how long it's going to be and when fic requests aren't that detailed it makes it a little harder for me to write a long one so, I just don't know what lengths each fic is going to be until after I write it.
Please just follow these rules 💗💗

kol mikaelson; best friend’s brother pt. 2- delicate.
“is it cool that i said all that? is it chill that you’re in my head?”
a/n: 1 more part after this 😽
Tumblr media
i set down the ice scooper, and wiped my hands on the front of my apron. "what's up?" i replied as i made my way over to her.
i climbed up onto a stool and she spoke, "you're two-top just left. matt's closing tonight. i've got veronica and garret, too. as soon as you're done cleaning up your shit, you can go home."
i perked up with excitement, "you're sure you don't need help?"
"no," she waved me off, "you stay late all the time. besides, i think this guy's waiting on you..."
i furrowed my brows and followed her finger as she pointed at the end of the bar. my heart beat faster as my eyes collided with the stranger's. he smirked at me, and lifted his head from his palm to wave with two fingers. his other hand was curled around a crystal glass, nearly empty.
i sighed, "okay. thanks, bea."
i slid off the stole and stepped towards him. he leaned back in his seat and waved an arm to the stool beside him. "join me, darling. i've been waiting all evening."
i tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, and sat upon the stool. i faced outwards, leaning my back against the bar. i hugged my stomach, nervously, some what hoping it would control my butterflies, "what do you want, kol?"
he picked up his glass, swirled the drink around in it, "oh, love, if you knew all the things i wanted, you'd be blushing."
i rolled my eyes at his lame pick-up, but i couldn't help the smile that creeped onto my face. "just tell me, so i can get home. i have to clean up."
kol peered around the dining room. "well, if you're headed home, i could walk you. it's not safe out there."
i looked up at him, expecting to see sarcasm lining his features. but, he was serious. kol's smirk evolved into a pleasant smile. i tilted my head back, a response ready to defend against his remarks. but, i dropped my chin, furrowed my brows again. "i-...okay. that's fine."
i stood up and made to walk away, but i hesitated, patted his shoulder, and quipped, sarcastically, "but, try to keep it in your pants this time, k?"
as i walked away with satisfaction, i heard kol laugh heartily.
i finished cleaning up parts of the dining toom- shut off the pop machine, various lamps, and stuffed my apron in a dirty laundry bin with the other rags i'd used during my 8-hour shift. i usually worked longer on sundays since, for some reason, the supernatural seemed to respect the 'lord's' day of rest.
i clocked out at on the pos system, and turned for the break room. i waved to kol, "grabbing my bag and i'll be out."
he smiled kindly at me with a curt nod.
i didn't know what he wanted. but, considering he'd never done me wrong, kol deserved to be heard. my skin tingled with the possibility of him. maybe he just came to harass me with more flirtatious advances. maybe he'd come to agree that the longing looks we shared whenever i was over needed to stop.
or maybe he really just needed my help with something.
the break room door swung shut behind me, squeaky on its hinges. i had a chance to catch my breath. kol had all but out-right stared at me the entire time i finished cleaning up. i'd attempted to keep my blushing to myself, but that proved impossible when, at one point, i'd bent over a table to reach a light switch. and when i turned back towards the bar, i saw his eyes lingering in the space my ass had been taking up.
yeah; maybe he just came to flirt.
rebekah. i had to remember her. forget kol and his stupidly cute face and his sexy accent-
it was hard to do so.
i slipped my purse across my body and shut my locker door closed. i met kol back at the bar and he stood. "ready, darling?"
i nodded, "sure. you ready to tell me what you want?"
kol held open the door to the grill for me. i thanked him barely above my breath, and he simply smiled down at me. there was another pause in time, where i stared up at him, my heart melting. but i snapped out of it and pushed on into the night air.
kol sighed, "i have a proposition for you."
we fell in step along the sidewalk leading south from the mystic grill. late winter night air was stale with dryness. the flowers on the trees lining the square were just beginning to bloom, tiny petals of life sprouting at the fingertips of tree branches. i admired the sight for a moment, contemplating his words.
i felt sick to my stomach, knowing that if i validated the longing we both seemed to share, then it would be embarrassingly cheesy and terribly disappointing.
i spoke, "kol, i know that you understand that...we can't do this."
kol's steps hesitated and he fell a
moment behind me. i stopped, looked back at him. kol's light smile transformed his face. he was looking at the ground beside me, but his eyebrows quirked and he looked upat me. "oh, darling...is that what you think this is?"
i flushed, "wha-what?" had i been wrong? was kol seriously just that flirtatious? while i thought we were partaking in some secret game of who can pine the longest without breaking, kol was just toying with me like a kitten.
kol stepped towards me. he raised a hand to my cheek, cupping my face. the soft skin of his thumb brushed across the apple of my face. "you're so pretty, darling..." kol said, "but i know better by now than to challenge my dear sister. though your face has invaded my mind over the past two weeks, this is about something different."
i hadn't seen kol since my first night at rebekah's, so the thought that i had been stuck in his memory since that fateful evening was flattering. it burst butterflies through my stomach.
my skin heated up under his touch, my eyes glued to his. kol's pupils were blown up with admiration, the chocolaty color deepened from desire. i had been right. for once, a guy id wanted wanted me back.
and i couldn't have him.
things might’ve been easier if he has been the cat and is been the mouse. this was harder beyond.
slightly frustrated at the thought, i snapped my eyes away from him. i cleared my throat, "well, then...what?"
kol soaked in my anxiety, like he enjoyed putting me on edge with his looks, and his voice, and his darlings. he brushed his thumb across my cheek once more, before his smile faltered, and he pulled back. with his hands in his jacket pockets, kol began walking again. "i want to throw a party. for rebekah."
i watched his back as he retreated, shocked by his statement. "a party? really?" humor laced my tone. "for your sister? who basically hates your guts?"
kol nodded as i caught up. "for my sister who basically hates my guts. her birthday is coming up soon, and i..."
kol trailed off. i examined his face as is faltered. he looked...sentimental? sad? regretful?
"i've watched her with...with you," he dipped his head to hide his face from my view. "and i just think she deserves something...good. kind. from me."
i grinned at his words. my hand acted to his it's own accord, and i gently grabbed his wrist. kol met my eyes. i replied, "i would love to help, if that's what you're asking. i didn't know her birthday was coming up. she'd never said anything."
"you kinda stop celebrating once you're immortal," kol shrugged. he stopped at the edge of the sidewalk, before it dropped off into the street. he faced me, "but i think she should. you've made her a better person. you've made us all a little better with your kindness. i haven't ever felt more alive than i did the other night. thank you, y/n."
his face was genuine, sincere. my lips lifted encouragingly. "me neither. when do you want to meet?” i dropped his wrist.
kol thought, "how does coffee sound? tomorrow morning?"
"i have school," i giggled that the old vampire had forgotten. "but, you can meet me after cheer practice. we can get coffee then."
kol nodded. "that sounds like a wonderful plan."
we crossed the street in comfortable silence, and reached my house within the next minute. we walked up my porch and, at the door, i turned to face him. i examined him with squinted eyes, my lips pursed. kol tilted his head, "what?"
i sighed, "i can't say i completely trust you. i want to be honest about that. i don't know you- only your reputation. if there are any ulterior motives here, please remember, that if you hurt me...rebekah won't be happy."
kol's face flickered, but he maintained his smirk. "thank you for your honesty, darling. i can't say i'm not surprised. but, please remember, that if i wanted to hurt you...i would've already done it. "
as he spoke, he leaned in closer, his eyes narrowed, and his voice sultry.
i gulped, tilting my head back, "i want to trust you," my voice came out in an honest whisper.
once my words trailed off, kol leaned his head to the side and pressed his lips to my cheek. his words ghosted across my cheek, shooting simultaneous heat and shivers down my spine, "then, i’ll try to behave."
he pulled away, "see you tomorrow, darling."
within a gust of wind, he was gone.
i went inside, up to my room, and took a shower to wash away my 8-hour shift and the insatiable feeling of kol's lips on my cheek. i knew this was bad- really bad. choosing to spend time with him, separate from stolen glances and longing gazes at rebekah's house. i barely knew him, rebekah would kill me, he probably was psychotic. i can't even trust him. there were a million reasons to evade him and his stupid brown eyes and his annoyingly enticing smirk.
but there were always a million reasons not to do something.
maybe he was right- if he wanted my blood, wanted me to die, he would've done so. he could've compelled me and used me as a blood bag by now. he could've snapped my neck in the middle of the crosswalk.
and trust could be earned.
rebekah was an entirely different problem.
after i showered, i fell asleep. and in my dreams, i saw his face.
fuck me.
"what're you doing after this?" rebekah huffed, wiping away a bit of sweat at her brow.
i was squatting, stuffing my pom poms in my duffel bag. i looked up at her and blocked the sun from my eyes with a hand. rebekah knew when people were lying. so i tried to just bend the truth- withhold instead of completely lie to her face, "getting coffee with a friend."
rebekah's eyes followed me as i stood up, throwing the duffel bag strap over my shoulder. my weight teetered to the side at its hefty pull. she squinted her eyes in analyzation, "what friend? caroline, bonnie, and elena just left. and i'm right here. you don't have any other friends...unless...y/n!"
her eyes brightened in excitement. she bounced on her heels, clapped her hands together. "are you going on a date?"
my mouth hung open in utter blank thought. if i defended myself and said no, she'd snoop. she'd discover kol and i's secret meeting, and she'd get insanely angry if she discovered we'd been hanging out behind her back. if i just let her have this-
i groaned, "yes. i'm going on a date."
-then she'd believe me.
rebekah squeaked, and tossed her arms around me. "i can't say i'm 100% happy, considering a relationship would pull you away from being with me 24/7. but yay! you're hot and you deserve it. who is it?"
i blanked again. i drug out my voice to cover up the fact that i was making it up, "he's...not...from around here."
well, that wasn't a lie at all.
rebekah rolled her eyes, "i'm sure. well, i know how you get flustered..."
i giggled as she tickled my side, and she continued, "so i'll let you have this. for now. but i will get to meet him eventually."
"okay!" i shoved her hand away, "i promise. eventually. you'll meet him."
rebekah sighed, "i'll hold you to that. i'll compel you if i have to. right- i'm off. need to shower this grossness away. see you, babes!"
i waved her off, watching as she looked around to ensure no one was looking, and rebekah sped off. i brushed back the hair loose from my ponytail as the wind she upheaved brushed past me. i began to turn on my heel to head home when an engine revved from across the parking lot.
i looked towards the sound, not 200 feet from where i stood. and i watched, my face red, as kol pulled into the parking lot in a blue dodge. i crossed my arms over my chest, raising my brows as he stepped out of the car, prideful.
"hello, darling," kol slammed the door shut and leaned against the car, his arm swung over its roof. "what do you think?"
i scoffed, "i think you don't fear rebekah nearly as much as you should. she was just here. two seconds ago."
kol shook his head with a chuckle, "i think you don't get how vampirism works. i waited around the corner, for my sister to scamper away, and then pulled in. thought you'd appreciate a ride."
kol approached me, a saunter in his steps. he held out his hand for me to take. i rolled my eyes, tugged my duffel bag off my shoulder, and dropped the strap across his palm. because he wasn't anticipating the move, he tripped forward slightly from its weight.
i withheld a laugh. the bubbly feeling tickled up my throat, threatening to ruin my i-don't-care attitude as i walked away.
i pulled open the passenger door, dropped into the seat, and slammed it shut. kol tossed my bag into the back seat before joining me up front.
"so," he slinked his arm across the back of my seat, "what's the best coffee place in this town?"
"just park at mystic grill. we can walk from there," i leaned an elbow on the side console of the door, resting my forehead against my fist.
kol pulled out of the parking lot and his fingers tugged very gently at the bottom of my pony tail. i twisted my head away from his hand. "stop that."
kol groaned, his head bumping back against the head rest. "oh, darling. you're boring. rebekah doesn't have to kno-"
"stop!" i whipped my head towards him, my ponytail slapping against my other cheek.
kol smirked at me, before refocusing his stare on the road. "you're no fun. we could have so much fun-"
"kol!" i gritted my teeth. "if you keep this up, i won't help. then your party will suck and rebekah will be embarrassed and she'll hate you even more."
"you make a good point."
ok. deep. breath. i managed to evade his advance. even if it meant his eyes slouched like a puppy dog. even if that made my heart hurt.
he could my trust without the sexual tension.
once we pulled into a parking spot, i reached for the door handle. kol sped around to the door, and opened it for me. he offered his hand again and i pushed it away.
i began power-walking away from him, annoyed that he couldn't contain himself. he caught up, though, but he didn't try to talk. he respected my space for once.
until we got to the coffee shop.
he paid for my drink, and bought me a cookie, even though i resisted his offer five times. the cashier looked incredibly annoyed with us, arguing in line, but kol thought it was hilarious.
i led us to the couch, way in the back of the coffee shop, and shoved myself deep into the corner of it hugging my coffee to my body as if it was protecting me from his advances.
kol, obviously, sat directly beside me. he threw his arm over my shoulder, his fingers back to my hair.
"okay," i huffed. maybe if i pretended, also, that his flirtations weren't affecting me, he'd stop them. so, i let him finger my hair, let his warmth radiate across my back. let him lean his head close and let his minty breath cover my face. "your house is the best venue to go with. we can get decorations, pink, obviously. since you're so rich, you can lend me a credit card or, you know, a block of gold. if that's what you've got. i'll handle inviting people. you can help decorate, get the alcohol. i'll make sure she'll be surprised. there-" i went to stand as the plans unraveled from my lips.
kol latched a hand around my waist and tugged my back down, closer to him than before. "we're not done."
i scoffed, wriggling out of his grip. "what more is there to say? we could've done that over text."
kol flicked a brow, suggestively, "oh, darling, if you want my number, just say so."
i pulled his arm off of me, tucking into the corner again. i sipped at my coffee, "she's going to kill you."
kol leaned in closer, stroking my cheek again, "not if she doesn't find out."
"kol."
he raised his hand defensively, "alright, alright. i'll back off. but, you can't pretend you don't want me, too. you made it quite obvious last night."
kol dropped a wink. i rolled my eyes, though i flushed bright red.
kol sighed. his face twisted into something almost human-like. kind, serious. “i want to...get to know you."
i looked at him with pursed lips, scanning his face for the lie. he looked honest, purely intended. "really?"
"yes," kol balanced his coffee on his knee and stared at it inquisitively. "i do. i think you are...interesting, and smart. and rebekah adores you. so i just want to...i don't know. honestly- i think you are gorgeous, darling. and i want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours. i-" kol was rambling like a flustered, nervous boy with a crush.
i met his eyes, and smiled gently. "only if you promise to stop hitting on me so much. you're right. i think you're attractive," i blushed through my honesty, "but i love rebekah. she's my best friend. and i'm not going to lose her. how about you get to know me so we can be friends? i think she would actually really like that. maybe it can bridge the gap between you two. maybe it’ll help me trust you.”
kol glanced between my lips and my eyes as i spoke. he thought for a minute, tapping his chin, "o...kay. i think i can do that. i'm sorry if i slip up- i'm sorry if want to touch you. but, okay. now, tell me-what's your favorite color?"
i giggled. with my free hand, i caught his wrist and lifted it off my shoulders. "i'll make sure you behave. starting with this."
kol sheepishly clasped his hands together in his lap. "okay. favorite color?"
i shrugged, "probably purple." i tapped the heels of my sneakers on the ground.
kol glanced at my feet, "oh, those are gorgeous. i think that may be my favorite, too."
we had a lot in common. kol didn't have a favorite movie or a favorite television show because he had only watched 5 films and 1 season of the office since being awakened from his slumbering mode of death.
but, he liked sunsets, where the sky reached out from orange to purple to blue to black. he liked the moon, when it was crescentic, like a toenail, he laughingly described. it was wonderful that something so pure, so bright could fill the night sky at its darkest. kol loved black cats, and told me he'd had one two hundred years ago as a pet when he was running with witches in africa.
"i have a black cat," my jaw couldn't help but drop.
kol pulled his head back in slight shock, a funny expression on his face. "no way. what next? it's name is grim?"
i laughed so hard at his words that my hand flew forward, landing on his thigh for support. i was a hitter when i laughed- and kol tensed up under my touch. "that's insane! that's literally his name!"
kol laughed, too, only his expression seemed to fade quick as he gently laid his hand on mine. "i think we should be done for today."
i stopped laughing. i caught his eye and felt an understanding ripple between us. "it can only work in doses, huh?"
"yeah. just doses of you," kol lifted my hand in his, and kissed the back of it gently. "or else i'll lose the self control it took to only kiss your hand."
i had kol's phone number.
he gave it to me when he dropped me off from the coffee shop. the contact name he gave himself was, 'kol :)' watching him fumble with the keyboard to create the smiley face was the cutest thing ever.
he'd asked for me to put mine in his phone as well, and i convinced him to let me put a code name, in case rebekah got her hands on it.
i was maybe, just a little bit, overly paranoid. but my contact name was blood bag.
it made kol laugh heartily.
he didn't wait an hour to text me. my phone buzzed on the bathroom counter, and i wrapped a towel around my body before i looked at the text message.
Kol :) - Hi, darling. I discussed this plan with my brothers. I left out the part where we went to coffee together. They agreed this Saturday would work best considering Rebekah's birthday is Sunday. Klaus will be out of town next weekend, and he wants to be there. Is it possible for us to go buy decorations sometime before this weekend? Maybe Wednesday?
i contemplated the message. i exited out of the texting application and found my schedule in the photos.  i was, miraculously, off wednesday. i typed out a response to kol.
blood bag - that sounds good! i'm off work that day. pick me up after cheer again? remember to visit the family krypt for a bar of gold.
Kol :) - Haha, very funny. We actually have numerous credit cards and Klaus has the company compelled to ignore our debt. Not the most honest work, but it's functional.
blood bag - could you get me one?
Kol :) - You know the requirements for that one, darling.
blood bag - sadly. see you wednesday!
Kol :) - Goodbye, love.
the next two days at school seemed to drag on. rebekah picked me up in her cherry red convertible both days, grilling me about this boy i was seeing. i continued to play into it to appease her. i even told her that i was going on another date on wednesday.
i'd probably have to tell kol that, ironically, i was using this excuse. he'd get a kick out of it. kol's eyes would crinkle with a smile, the laugh stemming deep from his chest. the pupils on his eyes would dilate a little, sparkle with glee.
he'd probably touch my arm, compliment my manipulation.
i smiled at my own thought, staring absentmindedly at the chalkboard. alaric cleared his throat and waved a hand in the area i was staring at.
"care to join us, y/n?"
"oh," i sat back in my seat, eyes blurry from staring, "yeah. yes. sorry."
i felt a stare on my back. i glanced behind me and met rebekah's grin. "you are so smitten," she whispered across the aisle.
i faced forward, my face bright red.
oh, fuck me. again.
wednesday, after cheer practice, it was pouring rain. we'd moved it to the gymnasium to protect from the weather. i texted kol of this development and instructed him to just park where he usually did- i would just be arriving from a different place.
kol texted back something cheeky about me being a woman of many mysteries. i replied with a shut up, but i was smiling down my phone.
rebekah hit me with her pom-poms. "i can't wait to meet this boy. is he picking you up?"
"yeah," i slipped. my jaw locked shut as i watched rebekah perk up. "but not until, like, 4:30. i have a meeting with- i have a teacher conference."
rebekah titled her head, reading my tone. "hm. you're being weird. is he ugly?"
i pressed my lips together in an attempt to suppress the slime underneath my bewildered expression. "what?!"
"you're being nervous. finicky. you don't have a conference. you just don't want me to see him after practice. he must be ugly," she shrugged as we walked towards our bags on the gym bench.
i sat beside my duffel bag, taking a sip of water, "you're insane. i hope you know that."
"i hope you're not dating anyone ugly. that would be dreadful," she sighed and stuffed her pom-poms in her bag. "i'd have to break the news to you."
"rebekah, remind me why i'm friends with you?"
she looked up, pondering the question, "i honestly don't know. perhaps you're the insane one."
we shared a good laugh at her quip. i tugged a sweatshirt over my sports bra, "whatever. just go home already. get out of my hair."
rebekah stood with a sigh. "only because i love you, babes!"
with that, she was gone. i waited exactly one minute before i pulled out my phone. clicking on kol's contact, i called him, and put the phone to my ear.
my heart leaped as he picked up. his phone voice was sexy.
"hello, darling. are you ready for me?"
i held my breath while he spoke, hoping my heart would slow back into position. "hey, yeah. i'll see you a minute?"
"sure thing," with that, he hung up.
i squeezed my face shut, holding my breath again. i was focusing on grounding myself and my stupid teenage girl hormones. i needed to be mindful of my emotions.
but it wasn't as easy as it had been at first.
i tucked my phone into a side pocket in my duffel bag. i slipped the strap over my shoulder and made for the exit.
i hesitated at the front door of the school. the rain was pouring so hard it bounced off the side walk in tiny jumps. it was pretty and it smelled wonderful, but it was cold. i shivered in my spandex, tucking my legs closing to one another. i took a deep breath, ready to brave the drops that were going to soak me. i was good at not checking the weather and be ill-prepared.
just as i was about step out of the building, a gust of wind frizzled my ponytail around my neck. kol stood before me. he smiled down, holding the handle of a bright pink umbrella over his head. "hello, darling. i figured i'd save you the shower."
i couldn't help but grin. i stepped under the cover.
another world-stopping moment held me there with him. the umbrella encapsulated us in a bubble. the rain sounded distant, pattering against the umbrella in echoing pops. his hair was slightly damp from stepping out of the car, somewhat frizzy in texture. a little curl swirled on his forehead, right above his left eye. my chest rattled with giddiness, a feeling i was growing to crave and sink into. kol's gape was more than friendly, but not in his obnoxiously charming manner. it was simply sweet, like an infatuation with not just my looks now, but my favorite color, and my favorite movie character. with me. and everything that made me that girl.
my lips stretched a bit further, if at all possible, before i let my gaze fall from his. "thank you. we should get going."
he nodded firmly, his smile falling short. we walked to the car in silence, though not much could be said with the rain.
i let kol open the door for me, simply because he could run out of the rain a lot faster than i could. within the moment that i closed the door, was sitting beside me, the wet umbrella being tossed in the back seat.
kol started the car. "you can pick the music, love. we don't have to talk."
his voice was sunken, like there was disappointment lacing his tone.
i glanced at him, and noticed he was looking straight ahead to pull out of the parking lot. he could feel my gaze on his cheek, but he refused to even notice it. i frowned, "oh, okay. sure."
i connected my phone to the adapter and shuffled my playlist. "i think you'd like taylor swift," i tried, a little sarcastic.
kol shrugged, "maybe."
he leaned his fist against his jaw, his elbow on the door. i thought for a moment, my tongue running over my lips. "maybe the reputation album."
"sure," he nodded curtly.
i furrowed my brows, my jaw tense. so he really didn't want to talk, huh?
crossing my arms over my chest, i turned my knees towards the door and slumped against it. i was exhausted from cheer practice and work the night before. i'd had to stay late to close. so, i let my eyes fall shut. a slow song started playing, mellowing me out to the point that i fell asleep.
when i woke up, i felt kol's hand on my thigh. he squeezed it gently, softly speaking, "y/n, darling? wake up. we're here."
i shifted in my seat, my eyes opening tiredly. "huh?"
kol brushed a piece of hair from my face, "we're here. at the store."
i lifted my body off the door. the windshield wipers squeaked across the glass, the rain at a slow sprinkle now. we were parked in front of a huge party supply store a few miles form mystic falls.
i turned my head to kol, who was staring straight ahead. he’d moved his hand back to his lap, where it was twisting around his fingers. he was on edge for some reason. i felt the tension seeping off his skin.
“let’s go, then,” i sighed.
the adventure was fruitful, but kol was nearly silent the entire time. once we had reached the check-out counter, i could count on one hand how many times he’d spoken to me in the store. 4 times. every time i asked his approval at a banner or streamers, the color of balloons, he’d simply shrug- i guess that meant no? or he’d nod. a firm yes. downcast eyes.
i was growing annoyed, which fed my exhaustion. the cashier announced the total and kol stepped up beside me to put his card in the slot. crossing my arms over my stomach, i shivered in the air conditioning. it was always a weird feeling, being damp and entering a cold building. it made me sleepier.
i flickered my gaze back to kol as he shuffled around. he tugged his coat off of his arms and draped it around my shoulders. the warmth of the zip-up hoodie kissed my skin delightfully. i quickly slid my arms through the sleeves.
kol insisted on carrying all of the bags, so i resigned to walking out empty handed. i opened the back door for him and he shoved everything inside. then, he got into the front seat. i stood at the door to the passenger side a little jarred. my footstep hesitated, before i shook my head and slid into the car. kol was boring a hole into radio with his eyes, glazed with boredom.
my throat cleared, and his eyes snapped to and from my face. “what’s wrong with you?”
lol didn’t look taken aback or at all swayed. he simply ignored my words.
i turned in my seat, crossing my arms, “hello? earth to kol mikaelson?”
his fingers reached to the radio, and he settled them on the volume knob. he went to twist it up. i huffed, stretching forward, and grabbed his hand. i pushed it from the radio harshly.
all of a sudden, kol slid across the bench of seats. his hand i had pushed away came up around my throat, diminishing my own grasp to fall in my lap limply. i pressed up against the door, my eyes wide with fear, my chest heaving anxiously.
“i would remember my place, if i were you. rebekah may have you in her good graces, and we might be forming a friendship, but at the end of the day, you are just a human,” kol’s face was close to mine. his fangs protruded from his mouth, eyes bloodshot, and little veins swimming under his gaze.
i gulped, feeling his fingers pressing into my throat. “i-i’m sorry. i’m sorry, please don’t hurt me. i’m sorry.”
kol slowly released his grasp on my neck. he slumped back into his seat, face returning to the normal one of a scarred teenage boy. i heaved in my seat, coughing from the pressure in my throat.
i felt sick to my stomach.
i guess i was the fool in this situation.
so much for putting my trust into someone like kol.
as he drove me back home, i slumped against the door again, heart beating rapidly at the fear soaking my adrenaline.
my voice was faltered and lined with a shaky tone, but i managed to say, barely above a whisper, “if you wanted me to trust you, you’ve just lost.”
he couldn’t even pretend to hide the look that crossed his face.
