Master-padawan relationships are so fascinating in their uniqueness.
Specifically in how unique each relationship is based on age difference between master and padawan.
Obi-Wan is 13 when he becomes Qui-Gon’s padawan, compared to Anakin’s 9. But Qui-Gon is in his late 30s compared to Obi-Wan’s mid-20s as a master. This means Obi-Wan’s relationship is closer to a father-son with his master, versus brotherly with Anakin.
Anakin and Ahsoka are even more like siblings, being so close in age (seriously, how was Anakin allowed a padawan at 19)
So some padawans are growing up with a parental figure. Others with more of a sibling.
The way this would change each Jedi is fundamental. We see this clearly with Obi-Wan compared to Anakin.
Undoubtedly, I also believe it would have impacted Anakin’s fall to the dark side.
It wouldn’t have prevented it (very little if anything could have; it’s what makes the prequels a tragedy) but with a father-figure- someone to reprimand him, to be more authoritative, etc.- perhaps he would have lent less heavily on Palpatine.
Perhaps he would have been guided more openly through his relationship with Padme (here I feel Qui-Gon would have been happy to actually talk about it)
Perhaps Anakin would have felt he could get away with less leading up to his fall. He would have tried harder to stick to the Jedi way- to emulate a father, rather than out-compete a brother.
And yet, equally, I think it could have made his fall all the more terrible.
Often, bitterness for a parent is so much heavier than for a sibling. Anakin would have killed Qui-Gon. He would have levelled so much blame on him. From a slightly different perspective, may even have fallen to the dark side sooner- driven there by resentment, by a need to prove himself.
Obviously, there are so many other factors at play that shaped the way Anakin turned out versus Obi-Wan, but I think their differing master-padawan relationships from an age perspective are hugely important.
What do you think?
(also, how would Ashoka’s life have been different if, say Obi-Wan, was her master?)

Invitation to talk about Sayuri and Nymie?
:D CAN OF WORMS: OPENED!! i'll tell u abt how they got found as Jedi
ok so Sayuri is one of the students that doesn't rlly go home bc there isn't much to go back to. Basically her parents were Rebellion pilots (or one was a pilot the other a mechanic. kinda unsure) but were both killed in action against the Empire abt 3-4ABY ish. obvs the Rebellion couldn't look after a 7-8yo while fighting the Empire
so the remainder of the squad manage to get her back to her parents' home village/ where she was born. so having like Everything change all at once leaves her pretty ?? and gives her some serious trusting-her-environment issues. her coolgirl "i dont care" persona is very much a result of this bc she's worried abt getting too comfy in smthn. (which is at odds w the OTHER issue she got from this event which is "deathly afraid of flying" an issue not helped if Master "traffic laws are just guidelines" Skywalker is piloting. but she tries 2 act like shes fine)
this is gonna get kinda long so im gonna smack some unposted art here and then go into a readmore
Tumblr media
anyway fast forwarding to when Sayuri's abt 13 (roughly 9aby) she's visiting her parent's old squadron on a New Republic bc they'd all come visit whenever she could and after the Empire's fall they did a lot more pick her up and fly her to a base to ALL see her. and they're like omg Sayuri you came at the PERFECT time bc this rlly amazing pilot war hero who's also some like. mystical whatever is here!! he's on his way to some magic place we heard. maybe u can meet him!! which sayuri meets w her usual whatever bc she's not that gassed abt war heroes.
very worth noting that the squad's probably all seen her move shit with her mind, but theyre like oh you know how it is with teenage girls. the "nobody knows what a jedi is" + "the empire existed for a decent bit of her childhood" thing has kept anyone from being like yeahh sayuri should like. talk to someone abt this.
anyway she goes along when the squad are like c'mon let's see if we can see him. ok the only way i can describe this is you know the spiderverse like... spidey-sense recognition thing? that's basically what happens LOL Luke and Sayuri both have a FORCE USER RECOGNISED?? moment and Luke then makes a beeline for her then realises oh shit tiny teenager not jedi. would you LIKE to be a jedi?? and sayuri who hates her village and is feeling the strongest emotional connection she's felt in forever w this stranger she met 2 seconds ago is like okay fuckin sure yeah. and woo jedi!!
i posted my unposted nymie art yesterday but likkeeee pretend theres some here <3
So Sayuri falls into the "one of the Jedi found them thru the force or by chance" category of students who get found. However Nymie very much falls into the second category, which is "CAN SOMEONE DEAL WITH THIS WEIRD SUPERPOWERED CHILD FOR US????"
So 2 things about Nymie: 1. like i've said before, she's from a very rich high class pantoran family. super stuck up, mostly raised by nannies & tutors, but somehow Nymie just didn't get the stuck-up genes like all her (4!!) siblings who are just obsessed w their social standing etc and is instead just :D all the time. 2. her proficiency ig is the living force esp in the 'good at connecting to animals' way (which I think means I legally need to draw her w Ezra).
so the former often led her to escaping her family's stuffy parties and galas or whatever (usually to whoever's house it is' garden or somewhere she wasnt meant to be) to find something interesting. usually a pet <3 one particular time when she was 9 she was following her Pet Sense but couldnt find anything in the house. so she kinda just reached out more and long story short thats how Nymie managed to call this hugemassive beast (i'd tell u what it was if i knew pantoran animals LOL) out of the nearby countryside to her. massively distressing for everyone, all these rich ppl were like "OH MY GOD I NEARLY DIED" (it didnt attack anyone). very funny exciting time for Nymie who was enjoying this new beastie friend til animal control showed up. saddening. everyone is confused bc HOW did that happen
a dude old (and cool) enough to have seen more than one jedi in their heyday (+ idk uni researcher knows his shit) noticed what happened w it going straight to Nymie and overheard her account and realised what happened and was like hi nymie's parents. i think u need to get into contact w the new republic bc thats a jedi right there (which they take and go oo social climbing. we have a jedi child people will think we're cooler. bc theyre assholes)
and yeah im losing steam now but luke shows up and she joins the academyyay!

Not Just a RomCom: CodyWan AU
This actually did start out as a vaguely normal modern AU but then we all got distracted. Set up with help from @bytebun and @catboydogma.
Single dad Obi-Wan has a pottery studio. (Technically he's parenting his siblings, but he believes he deserves the Respect of a successful single parent.)
Anakin is, as per usual, just. Being incredibly rebellious and uncooperative with Obi-Wan's attempts to be a parent. Anakin, on a rebellious streak (number eighteen of the year) decides to skip out on Obi-mandated college application hours. Yes he wants to be an engineer, but Obi-Wan's pressuring him right now, and he does not want to do what Obi-Wan wants him to do, even if the thing Obi-Wan wants him to do is meant to help Anakin do what he wants to do. Anakin uses his sudden free time to go to the mall and, seeing a pop-up stall for modeling, decides to give it a shot. He's a pretty guy, he can probably do this, right? Can't be that hard!
(You know. He's eighteen. Maybe nineteen. It's that age.)
(Also it is VERY hard.)
Enter Cody, who is not technically, in and of himself famous… but he is the top modeling agent in the country, by virtue of having sourced and negotiated all of Bly's top runway and editorial models, and the guy who is now 'discovering' Anakin Skywalker.
I feel like there's a specific energy to amputee male model Anakin Skywalker and I like it very much.
I was just. Rolling around 'people of similar ages and maturities who have vastly different life experiences, and going 'hm, this is why power/maturity differences are a way bigger issue with teens and early twenties but way less of an issue in middle-aged people.'
Obi-Wan isn't a Big Name With Big Responsibilities, but he has been more or less single-handedly raising his brother and sister. Like yeah his friends and stepsister help out sometimes, but he's been doing this mostly alone since he was twenty-five. He also runs a small business as an artist/creator, and does all the management for it (taxes, advertising, insurance) himself.
Meanwhile, Cody helped out with his own younger siblings, but he was never the primary adult in their lives, and he's got a position that works around communications and networking, and a lot of the management bits get delegated, so it's…. IDK
It's a weird balance that does work out but it feels very odd and strange to both of them at first, especially because there's a Big Difference in financial statuses and the whole 'you are my little brother's new boss, sort of.' I think they initially connect over the parenting-younger-siblings aspect of their lives.
I'm torn between "he does plates and bowls on a wheel" and "he does insane custom fantasy pieces like overly detailed dragons."
Come enjoy this completely normal romcom [take note of the dragons they will be important later]
I do know that, whichever it is, he does classes, including "Wine and wheel" nights where people come in on dates to take a pottery class while tipsy. It's like drunk painting nights.
I want Cody taking Obi-Wan out on the fanciest dates, like the kind of NYC restaurant where an entree is $200. Sometimes dinner turns into "bitching about Anakin" sessions.
Obi-Wan: I cannot help you. Cody: You raised him. Obi-Wan: Yes. But you are the one who signed a contract to keep him around. You made this bed. Lie in it.
"I inherited this can of worms. You grabbed it off the shelf, paid in full, and were then surprised that there were worms."
Side note I've decided that the head of his legal department is Padme. She and Rex (IDK what his actual job is?) are in competition to gain Anakin's affections. IDK how legal that is but Padme probably ensured it was fine before she got involved.
Alternately, Rex is a fellow model (he's using it to pay for college) and he can flirt with Anakin as much as he wants (which is usually not that much), and Padme can't.
She wants to! Anakin is flirting with her! But. Legally. She can't. (Yet.)
Padme: Until your position has been secured in such a way that I cannot influence it, I cannot date you. Anakin: 🥺
And now we get to the part where it is... not just a RomCom.
Because I was... trying VERY hard not to talk about The Last Dragon chronicles (you know, The Fire Within, etc.). And then I did. And now it's part of this AU.
Quiet subplot to the entire romance and Anakin's modeling journey is the fact that Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are just making sapient dragon statues to hand out to their friends.
Obi-Wan: Okay Cody, as a symbol of my affection, here is a statue of a dragon. It's got some props that are related to your passions. It survives on your love. Cody: Aw, that's cute. Thanks. Cody, that night: [hears some small scraping noises and weird shuffling] Cody: [looks up and sees the dragon statue moving] Cody, whispering: what the fuck
HE THOUGHT HE WAS IN A ROMCOM WHAT IS THIS
Anakin is not very good at the dragonmaking. He tries, for Rex and Padme, but he's. Not very good at it, at least not compared to his siblings. Ahsoka has to go through it with him, step by step, so the dragons are Worth Giving.
They gotta be perfect.
Obi-Wan definitely makes other things as well but the Dragons are absolutely magical. (Vases and plates and whatnot are easier to sell, though.)
The one he made for Anakin (right after Qui-Gon and Shmi died) has a cyborg arm, because it just felt right. Ten years later, Anakin lost his arm in a freak accident, and everyone was like oh.
I feel like Obi-Wan's dragon might actually have a shield? Because he defines himself in large part around protecting and raising his siblings. His dragon is also less 'dragon' and more 'Boga the varactyl.'
Cody's needs to be something about connection and networking, since his whole thing in this AU is making connections and figuring out how to put people where they need to be. I'm partial to a spiderweb hanging from the end of the statue's raised tail, and also he's got a tie on.
Padme's comes with a fountain pen. Rex's has jaig eyes and feathered wings. Unrelated, I do think he's studying to be a social worker.
I'm not entirely sure what I want Ahsoka's role to be, insofar as what about her is reflected in the statue. I think I'm going to say she's a skater girl, so her dragon has a board and knee/elbow pads? Or possibly a paintbrush. IDK. Still poking her open.
A giant eastern dragon statue that watches over the house from a central location as a vestige of Great-Grandpa Yoda. It is in fact bigger than Yoda himself. It's one of those incredibly long and complicatedly coiled ones.
I think I really enjoy Anakin being just. Really bad at clay stuff compared to Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. Ahsoka is happily being primed to take over the family business one day.
What Anakin does eventually turn out to be incredibly, terrifyingly good at is steampunk dragon automatons.
Like this but it's real and it moves:
Tumblr media
(Source)
And you assume it's just like. A windup toy? And it is... when you're looking. If you look away (or it trusts you), it moves on its own. When Anakin's dragons move, everyone just assumes there's a battery or something.
Anakin's just really excited that he can continue the family tradition but like in his own way. Fuck knows he can't really do anything on his siblings' level with clay, but he can do clockwork.
It's the GG fan in me popping out, nothing is cooler than steampunk automata with minds of their own.

✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
All the fics I’ve read and really enjoyed in the past week-ish. Reminder: This list features any and all ratings and themes.
DC (Batfamily)
Brother Wanted by Vamillepudding
Well-behaved boy (10) is looking for big brother (11-15). Must meet up with me three times a week, for at least two hours each. Overall duties include helping me with homework, playing videogames with me, and showing me how to play catch. 10$ per hour.
Tim, lonely and in desperate need of company, decides that if his parents are not going to give him a sibling, he's going to hire one instead. Luckily, Jason Todd-Wayne shows up in the nick of time.
Stranger Things
A Sign of The Morning by ToEdenandBackAgain
Vecna is dead. The Upside Down is cut off from Hawkins yet again. Steve is trying to go back to normal, whatever that is. He's also trying to figure out exactly how Eddie Munson has managed to fit so easily into his life.
Marvel
It Had to Be You by fancastical
Or, Five Times Deadpool Recognised Spider-Man and One Time He Didn't.
hey you (who the fuck are you) by fancastical
For some reason, Peter thinks Deadpool knows his secret identity so he thinks its not a big deal to chat with the merc in his civilian identity whenever he bumps into him in various locations. Wade, meanwhile, is confused on why a cute but grouchy nerd keeps talking to him like they know each other but hey, its New York! Eccentrics are everywhere and this guy is really cute and doesn’t seem to mind hanging out with him!
ATLA
Honor Among Thieves by cassiopeia721
Father keeps on telling Zuko that he's acting without honor, but a lot of the time he won't explain what exactly Zuko is doing wrong, and what he should do to be more honorable. So, Zuko decides to do some research and ask around about how he should behave honorably.
Or: the servants of the Fire Lord's palace develop a soft spot for Zuko, Zuko confuses everyone around him with his particular brand of shout-y, aggressive politeness, and somehow Zuko accidentally ends up leading a revolution.
Perfection is Overrated by JaggedCliffs
For his first thirteen years, Zuko was raised in a palace. And yet somehow, it's the three years outside the Fire Nation that seem to count more – at least to the palace staff, who act like he's been raised by fox-wolves.
At first, this only annoys Zuko.
Until he begins to think that the Fire Nation needs more than a formerly-banished prince.
Star Wars
The Weight of Words by subtlehysteria
Dim blue eyes stare up at him. Hair that might once have been rich with colour hangs limp and brittle around a gaunt face. A face with a split lip and a fading bruise on one cheekbone. A face that is blank of all emotion and yet simultaneously screams help.
No, he doesn’t see danger. He sees only a man trying to meld with the wall and make his body as small as possible while staring down Din with a glare so cold that it could cause anyone’s blood to turn to ice. The man is dressed in thread-bare prison garb that hangs off his slight frame like oversized drapery and around his wrists is a pair of complex-looking cuffs. They’re the same ones Grogu had been shackled with, cuffs that somehow diminished his powers. If this man bears them too could that mean…
Din crouches, bringing himself down to the man’s level.
“Are you a Jedi?”
(In an alternate universe where the name Luke Skywalker has long since been lost, Din Djarin finds an unexpected prisoner aboard Gideon's ship, finding not only a potential teacher for Grogu but also the man who will change his life, and his heart, for the better.)

I adore your fics and have been feverishly devouring them for years, but I was catching up and was SO confused by these tags at all, but especially in a non-time travel fic (I saw it in the tags for a couple of others):
'Parental Rex CT-7567 | Rex and Anakin Skywalker Adopt Ahsoka Tano, i will make that an official tag even if i have to write a bazillion fics to do so lol'
I just...please help me out lol. Even in a time travel fic, the traveller is generally visiting the clone wars era, not prior to the clone wars. Why would two men in their early twenties adopt or need to adopt a 15-17 year old and why would she want that? (Since a lot of fics are season 3-5 and she was 15 by season three and 17 when she left the order, or even ROTS era when shes on the cusp of adulthood)
Rex doesn't have a parental relationship with Ahsoka and was the biologically the same age as Anakin on Christophsis, despite the questionable choice to visually depict 18-26 year old young men as 45+, seeing as they age at twice the rate but canonically leave Kamino physically twice the age of ten, or even younger as the war continues like we saw with Domino squad being deployed early, making some clones the equivalent of being in their late teens.
Plo Koon had a very parental relationship with Ahsoka, which is a clear contrast to her working relationship with Rex and eventual close friendship.
Sorry, I'm just so confused! In a modern universe, it would be like a high school student working at McDonald's having a father-daughter relationship with their college night manager, which would be so inappropriate 😅
Anakin is her older brother-mentor and Rex is her equal, which is made so clear in season seven and they weren't close prior to that and them being close at all seemed to be a retcon.
Is it meant to be lowkey Rexwalker shippy? Am I missing something?
This isn't meant to be rude at all, I just don't understand it, so hopefully you won't mind answering 😅
Anakin might have been very close in age to Ahsoka, but he was still her master, and that in and of itself is a very parental role. He protected/took care of her during the war and taught her everything she needed to survive, in a way that a parent would. That’s especially clear after seeing the flashbacks in the Ahsoka series. They might be too close in age to call them anything but siblings, but they’re also far more than just siblings because Anakin is still her caretaker and she’s his responsibility.
For Rex, it wasn’t really until seeing Tales of the Jedi, that made us realize how much Rex helped Anakin with training Ahsoka. Rex was like Anakin’s first friend since TPM (excluding Padme) and also based on the 7th Season, they obviously supported each other a lot in everything they did. So no, definitely no Rexwalker shipping, but a very close brotherly bond, so they both helped “raise” Ahsoka together, even if Rex is also so close in age to Ahsoka. (Technically, younger.)
I used to consider Plo as Ahsoka’s parent, but looking back, he’s really not. They might be close and he might be a mentor to her but he’s **not** a parent. If he was, he wouldn’t have just told Anakin to stop searching for her in the Padawan Lost arc, because she’s “responsible enough” to “find her way back to him”. Like come on. That’s not what you say about your child. Ever.
Anakin is the one who always worried over Ahsoka and protected her, and looked out for her. That’s why we consider him a parental figure to her. And Rex is just along for the ride.
Does that make sense? :)
And thanks for the ask!!! :D

if you’re hearing LIONHEARTED BY PORTER ROBINSON playing, you have to know JOSHUA BRADFORD (HE/THEY; DEMIMALE) is near by! the TWENTY-FOUR year old PHOTOGRAPHER has been in denver for, like, HIS ENTIRE LIFE. they’re known to be quite CRITICAL, but being CHARISMATIC seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble MICHAEL CIMINO. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those DIFFERENT COLORED CREWNECKS, THE SOUND OF THE SHUTTER GOING OFF, AND CALLUSES ON FINGERS FROM PLAYING GUITAR  vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the CHERRY CREEK DISTRICT long enough!

when it came to the bradford family, they were considered the perfect all american family. william a well known fashion photographer, who grew up with wealth but still made a name for himself. emma bradford, an attorney, who's story really inspired people that no matter where you come from you can still become someone. and the moment joshua was adopted, it was like he had the whole world at the palm of his hands. his parents encouraging him to do whatever his heart desired.
joshua's story could have been different though. the first five years of his life he was raised by an amazing woman, his birth mother, lucy davis. his father was never in the picture, and that was okay, because he had lucy. but one night after a shift at the night and dine, a storm was brewing. driving back home was more difficult than expected, and out of nowhere a truck came driving towards her, ending in disaster.
with no record of his father, and there not being a next of kin to take joshua, he was eventually placed with the bradfords, who fostered the young josh. and they had fallen in love with joshua, even when he was so quiet and timid to begin with, but once he felt comfortable, they love how thoughtful, creative and sweet he was. they knew that they wanted him, and they decided to adopt him.
growing up with the bradfords, he was coming to his own. he loved his parents, and he loved what they did, always interested in what they do, specifically with his father's photography. his creative side being shown more and more, it was clear where his interest lied. so his parents had gotten him his first camera at thirteen. and his love for photography grew, amongst the rest of the arts.
he had accomplished a lot in his quarter life. winning photo competitions, going to college, and graduating with a business and photography degree. and now, he wants help young artist fulfill their dreams just like he was fulfilling his own. but there was still one thing he wanted to do before he started it all, he wanted to find who his birth father is. the problem was, there was no information on him. and he felt like it was finding a needle in a haystack. but he wasn't going to give up.

a love so powerful: this is the person that joshua never saw coming. yes, he has been in relationships before, and has hooked up with others, but this man really was someone he fell for first. the thing was, did he even feel the same? he never got so flustered like this before. and josh really is stuck feeling like that one awkward teenager he once was.
you are my brother: can be someone he grew up with and they are inseparable or possible the bradford's birth child. either way, him and joshua have been attached to the hip, and whenever one is around, so is the other. so watch out, cause they might bring some chaos.
best friends for life: if there was one person josh confided in practically everything, it was always his best friend. she's the girl that he tended to gravitate around for years, they even shared their first kiss together, and tried the dating, but decided that being friends was the right move. she's the one he always cared what she thought.
from bully to friends: it's crazy how the jock and the art kid once to hate each other. tale as old as time. but growing up had changed them both. one night out together and they ended up having a good time. who would have thought these unlikely duo would be good friends.

The Jedi Way.
Tumblr media
Masterlist.
Chapter 1>>
Din Djarin x female jedi oc.
A/N: While I was writing "Arranged Marriage" I couldn't get this idea out of my head, which was giving me writer's block. So I decided I better write both at the same time ;)
Warnings: In this prologue the death of several characters is mentioned, in addition this fic will contain spoilers of the series "The Mandalorian" in case you have not seen it.
Prologue:
Lyanna Skywalker could safely say that her life used to be perfect. She was lucky to have been born on one of the most beautiful planets in the galaxy and proud to have been chosen as its queen at the age of 14. Besides, she had married the prince of Alderaan, Baelor Organa, with whom she had two sons; Killian and Cassian. But all her happiness, like her reign, was short-lived. Her husband and her children died on Alderaan the day the planet exploded, causing her to abandon her position as queen to make room for a new one and join the Rebel Alliance in a more physical way in their fight against the Empire.
In her time as a rebel she held various positions. She was a rescuer of those people who were kidnapped, mostly from Naboo, she led attacks on different Imperial bases as Commander of the Red Squadron, protected the spies of the rebellion and taught people to fight, all this while eliminating any clues about the rebellion that included the name of her planet. She was so influential throughout this period and won so many titles, that in the end she gained great renown among supporters of the cause.
But there was some light, because it was in this period that she found out about the truth about her family. She knew from a very young age that her parents were not those who had raised her, hearing countless stories of her biological parents, as these were given to her by Ben Kenobi in person that time he went to visit her in Naboo. But having gained a brother and a sister, after such painful losses, brought to her life a happiness that she never thought she would feel again.
At the same time as her brother Luke, she was trained by Yoda on her path as a Jedi Knight, fighting side by side with her brother to bring an end to the Empire, all while constantly fighting to bring their father back from the dark side of the force. But Yoda did not really want to teach her to be a Jedi, he felt in her more power than he felt in Anakin Skywalker, but closer to the light than to the darkness, only for the love towards her siblings and deceased children. That is what made him refuse to teach her, those relationships that she had formed made it difficult to follow that path without getting lost in it, having as a consequence to suffer the same fate as her father. But as Obi-wan said, only a Jedi would bring back the peace and balance that existed before. And so, Yoda accepted.
Then, after Lyannna had helped her sister lay the foundations for the New Republic and trained more younglings in her Jedi way, she began to feel the force growing stronger in her. Her worst fear was ending up like her father. He was an exceptional young man with strength, but his weaknesses made him lose himself to the dark side, losing everything and everyone he loved and being responsible for thousands of deaths around the galaxy. So, to the chagrin of her siblings and all those who knew her, Lyanna Skywalker relinquished all her titles and after painfully handing over her lightsaber, the one that used to be her father's, walked away from everyone she knew and love to travel the galaxy in search of her own way. But she certainly didn't expect that purpose to be a Mandalorian and a little boy just like Yoda.

“You know, I asked him about who Jon Snow’s real parents were, and he told me. I can’t say who, but I can tell you that it involves a bit of a Luke Skywalker situation. It will all come to fruition eventually. The whole thing with all the fight over proper succession is partly inspired by the War of the Roses in the late 1400s, and back then, to ensure pedigree, the monarchies were kind of inbred. It’s definitely fucked up, but it definitely happened back then, so that’s why there’s incest with the Targaryen line.” -Alfie Allen in 2012 (x)
Yeah Luke is secretly raised by his uncle in a far off land too, but why mention incest? Because Luke Skywalker falls in love with a princess only to find out his true parentage and that she is his sister and they can’t be together.
That could reference a different pair sure….but GRRM doesn’t like to just repeat tropes- he plays with them and flips them on their heads. Take something as minor as the “red headed step child” trope and how the Stark children minus Arya all have auburn hair and Jon is the dark haired outcast but also the one that looks more like Ned than any of them.
What’s the reversal of Luke and Leia? A pair of siblings that find out they can be together.

“Be good, you two!” Obi-Wan still yells a last time before the door closes. He then turns to Cody. “I’m so sorry for them both.”

The door opens on a kid. He’s not big for his age — which Cody knows is twelve —, his blond hair is wet like he’s just out of the shower, and his arms are crossed on his chest. He’s frowning, looking, assessing Cody as if he’s a very ugly fly in his soup, and not here to take his date out.
“No,” suddenly says the kid, and closes the door on Cody’s face.
Or more like his foot, since Cody is no stranger to kids and reacted on instinct more than will. He hides his grimace as the door opens slowly again, the kid now glaring at him. If a look could kill, Cody would have dropped dead by now, he muses.
The kid hisses like an angry kitten. He looks almost as threatening as one. From inside the apartment, an “Anakin!” can be heard. A young woman, probably in her late teens, appears behind Anakin, putting a hand on his shoulder and pulling him away from the door. She has another kid balanced on her shoulder, visibly trying to get away and hissing as much as her brother. Cody almost receives a foot in the face.
“Ahsoka, calm down— Anakin, don’t!” The young woman puts the boy in a headlock before he can lunge at — well, whatever he was going to lunge at, and the little girl lets out a sound of protest.
“But Aayla—” she whines, finally stopping struggling.
“Listen to Aayla, both of you,” comes another voice, and this time Obi-Wan is the one to appear. His ears are red and his shirt rumpled, but he’s still as beautiful as ever.
The kids groan in unison. Aayla grins. Obi-Wan takes his jacket, presses a kiss on Aayla’s cheek, then to both of the kids’ forehead, before grabbing Cody’s hand and escaping toward the stairs.
“Be good, you two!” Obi-Wan still yells a last time before the door closes. He then turns to Cody. “I’m so sorry for them both.”
Cody laughs. He knows how children are — he himself has younger brothers, after all, and he had spent ten minutes looking for his shoes before realizing Rex had hid them when it had been time for him to leave.
“It’s all alright, sweetheart.” Cody holds the door open for Obi-Wan to pass first, then follow him outside, clasping back his hand in his. “But if you don’t mind me asking, what was all of that about?”
Obi-Wan sighs. And blushes, his hand coming to his neck. “Well—” He blushes even more, so easy to catch on his pale skin.
Cody looks at his face, and then at his neck. And then—
Oh.

What is "up the wolves" for the wip game?
[ask me about my wips]
this fic is going to be a series of vignettes about Luke and Leia - parallel moments in their childhood, moments during the Rebellion before they knew they were siblings but nonetheless had sibling energy, and moments after they figure it out. I started thinking up this story during the early episodes of Kenobi, but didn't want to write it until I saw how that played out. Now that it's over, there are going to be some scenes in the fic that fit into the Kenobi show (Leia's reunion with her parents and Luke waking up from his fall with Reva).
Also, while it is very much about the twins, it's also meant to celebrate their adoptive parents and Padme - how they are like them in so many ways, and how (esp. their parents) shaped them and cared for them.
The title comes from the Mountain Goats's song Up the Wolves, and the lyrics that really inspired the story are: "I'm gonna get myself in fighting trim / Scope out every angle of unfair advantage / I'm gonna bribe the officials, I'm gonna kill all the judges / It's gonna take you people years to recover from all of the damage / Our mother has been absent / Ever since we founded Rome / But there's gonna be a party when the wolf comes home"
Structurally and tonally, the fic will probably look most like my other fic "Illusions of Someday."
I'm excited and nervous to write this one, though, because 1) I hardly write Leia because she's my fave and I'm so nervous about writing her badly, and 2) because there's no romance (no HanLeia or HanLuke and obviously no lukeleia), which is not the norm for my fics. So I'm looking forward to trying my hand at a non-romantic character study focused more on friendship and sibling relationships. So we'll see if I ever end up properly writing it.
snip-it bellow the cut:
“Flying, shooting, fixing our water filters … you’ll do that no matter the danger. But follow me into a tree? That’s what you’re afraid of.”
“I’ve never been in one before,” he protested.
“You’d never been in an X-Wing either. I told you to get in one of those, and you didn’t flinch.”
“A ship is a ship, it’s all the same principle. But a tree is …” he rubbed the bark, “new.”
“Exactly. Why are you afraid of what’s new?”
He stared at her. She was used to this look, a look that said she had read them correctly, and now they were uncomfortable. She’s long since learned to not care about that look.
“My Uncle raised me,” he said. “He didn’t leave the planet, neither did my aunt. They didn't want me to leave either.” There was regret -- no, pain, a sorrow that felt familiar to Leia. It ripped off of him, echoed in the hard press of his lips, the strain in his eyes, the movement of his fingers.
Before she let herself prod deeper, she asked: “How do they feel about you flying off with the Rebellion?”
“They died,” he said simply. “But,” his tone perked back up. It was a cover, she knew, but she was no stranger to that kind of lie, “I imagine,” he grunted as he pulled himself onto another branch, “he wouldn’t be too happy to see me up in a tree. He’d tell me the Lars family was built to be on the ground.”
Leia smiled. “Good thing we got the Skywalker, then.” Luke smiled at her, this time, in earnest. “My parents are dead too,” she said, her tone as even as she could keep it with their deaths still so fresh in her mind. “My father was the one who taught me how to climb,” she started heading up farther. “So, if you don’t keep climbing, you’re insulting the memory of my dead father.”
Luke laughed. “If I climb any higher, my Uncle’s ghost will yell at me from beyond the grave!” Luke looked up at her, and then at the ground. “How do I get down?”
“Just climb back down the way you came,” she said, “or jump if you’re brave enough.”
Luke scooted to the edge of his branch, checked that he had a clear bath to fall, and pushed himself off. When he hit the ground, Leia winced in anticipation of sore ankles and knees, but Luke instead seemed to almost float down, landing as gently as a leaf.

was that danielle rose russell? oh no no, that was just allana solo, a canon character from star wars. they are eighteen years old, use she/they, and are aware that they are not actually from washington dc. too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
how long has your character been here:
a little over three years now, physical age is closer to twenty two
what is your character’s job:
she may still be using leia's money for some things but shhh. also works at han's shop
where has your character been pulled from in their fandom:
legends, after adopting anji and for the films, about two years after the rise of skywalker
has any magic affected your character:
they were briefly unaware, but that's sorted now
and any other information you might find useful for us and the other members to know:
okay so allana is the epitome of the mushed legends and new canon. about twenty years after endor, leia and han's second child jacen knocks up tenel ka djo, the heir to hapes.
a lot of nonsense went down with jacen going dark and hapes turning on tenel, but the main point was that jacen kidnapped allana but then died to save her from an attack from hapes. her death was then faked, and she was sent to live with han and leia as a war orphan named amelia
they grew up with her grandparents, trained by her great uncle luke to be a powerful jedi, and adopted a nexu named anji, who is her loyal guardian. she occasionally heard from her mother, but not often, for her own safety. she held no resentment towards her parents, and missed them terribly growing up
after the rise of kylo ren when she was about eight years old, she spent most of her later years on military bases. when han was killed, they nearly broke down, and insisted on being able to fight, but her grandmother denied their request because she was barely a teenager. the rest of the people who'd raised her fell in quick succession, and she abandoned the resistance after ben's death, angry beyond relief and the celebrations happening around her
she started exploring the galaxy, but eventually got dragged to dc a few years later. in washington, they're reunited with their family, and she couldn't be more grateful or that. she's also gotten involved with sheev palpatine's younger sister, and is unfortunately very much in love with the girl
her relationship with their parents and with leia has been heavily damaged, with leia's fall to the dark side and choking them, and with the consequences of never really getting to know her parents hitting harder than they'd expected, especially with their new daughters. she's angry, and bitter, and incredibly upset about that. not that they know how to stop it or fix it
she wants to reconcile with her family, but they have no idea how, and have taken to just avoiding them rather than constantly fighting, not that she thinks that's a good situation either. but it's the only solution they've got, so she's sticking with it until she stops wanting to drop kick her baby siblings

Look, this post relies heavily on the idea that Anakin Skywalker shows signs of having borderline personality disorder. Do with that what you will.
When I see people romanticize the idea of Anakin Skywalker as a dad — as if the only thing standing between him and being a loving, protective father was the knowledge that his children were alive — I legitimately want to ask them if they know anyone who was raised by a father with untreated borderline personality disorder. Because, babes, lemme tell you, that obsessive love he allegedly has for Padme? In real life, that doesn’t translate to the kids. In real life, all that affection (and a lot of ire) is focused solely on their significant other (well, or whoever is deemed the “favorite person”. For us, it was a pretty classic story of my mother being the Best/Worst Person in the Universe depending on the hour and us kids being…physically present in the house, I guess).
I grew up with a father who demonstrably only cared about my mom. This isn’t the same as a dad considering his wife to be the most important person to him or his favorite person or whatever; that’s pretty normal and healthy. What I mean is that literally the only person that matters to my father is my mother and it is neither cute nor romantic.
What I’m saying is that, when I was 10 and my siblings were 8 and 3, my dad got a job in a different state and he moved to start work a few months before we did. The entire time he was gone, he’d call home to talk to my mom and never once asked to talk to any of us. My mom would have to prompt him. What I’m saying is, when my parents divorced seven years ago (all of us kids were grown), my mother made a condition of their reconciliation that he at least try to develop individual relationships with us, and that absolutely never happened. What I’m saying is, to this day, he mines my mother for information about me and my life and counts that as knowing me.
What I’m saying is, he seriously thinks that he’s only been MIA for the past six or seven years, but in reality, I’m in my mid-thirties, I lived in the same house as him for roughly twenty (20) years, and I have two (2) memories of him spending meaningful, individual time with me on purpose (and I’m being generous with the “on purpose” part — because one of them only happened because I got grounded last minute from going to the movies, so my mom took the other kids and he had to stay at home with me).
What I’m saying is, three years ago, I had to come to terms with the fact that the only way I won’t want want to scream or sob after every interaction with him is by having absolutely no expectations of him in regard to his relationship with me. This isn’t “the bar is on the ground”; this is “there is no bar”. Whatever happens is what he’s able to do in that moment, and I cannot treat this relationship like I would one with someone I can trust and expect certain behavior or care from. Every positive interaction is viewed as a pleasant surprise, not an indication of turning over a new leaf or evidence that I can trust that most of our interactions in the future will be positive. Because I can’t trust that. I’ve been given zero reason to trust that.
I’m super aware that the emotional reactions that Anakin Skywalker drags out of me are projection. I should probably talk to my therapist about it. I was floored on a rewatch of Return of the Jedi recently when I really processed how awful his final message to Leia is. (In case your memory’s fuzzy, the man’s dying words are “You were right about me. Tell your sister you were right.” Which I translate to: “Apologize? Why do that when I can instead just communicate that I always had good buried deep down without actually acknowledging the harm I’ve caused those allegedly important to me?”) And I know the only reason I had a strong reaction is because I identify with Leia as a character and that is exactly the sort of nonsense that I expect from my father. So, like, yeah, my baggage is showing. But also, uh…Anakin Skywalker would suck as a father if he didn’t sign up for Space Therapy at some point.
(Also, look, I know that people with BPD have experienced super crappy things — BPD develops as a result of trauma. And I also know that they can live totally functional lives and be good parents and that the condition is unfairly stigmatized. And I also know that claiming that any fictional character has any particular mental illness is a fraught topic at best. Buuut, I also have been the unfortunate recipient of the consequences of having an untreated/treatment-resistant father with BPD and whether Anakin is BPD-coded or not, some of his actions and attitudes are still super in line with my personal experience. You know, minus the genocide and stuff. And I’m just saying that the obsessively loving your spouse thing common with many males with BPD has a singular focus. It doesn’t translate to being a good dad.)

beru + the white suns liberation movement
i. she knows the stories. grew up hearing how her grandmother came to own the farm their family now calls home. but she was always told she was too young to help. so beru and her siblings spent evenings sitting with their ears to the kitchen door listening to their parents and members of the movement whisper and plan.
ii. she comes to be good with machines, knows what spots to hit and when to look a little deeper, but beru proves to be better with people and as a scout. a lie never gets passed her and she can read face’s like a book, plus her youth means she’s underestimated by many.
iii. shmi skywalker is one of the few who stays once the movement has freed them and she joins in their efforts. together they do their best to keep their scanners up to date with the implant chips but they always seem one step behind. bonding over a shared goal and eventually family, beru comes to see her as a second mother.
iv. without shmi, beru hands over the technical aspects of the operation to others within the movement but she continues to offer clothes, food and comfort to the newly freed.
v. now married and raising a child, who could already bring trouble to their door, beru decides to take another step back. she never felt in danger during her own childhood but her and owen feel that luke needs normal a childhood as possible so the homestead is no longer a safe house. when she wants to help she goes back to her parent’s farm or sister’s inn.

When Obi-Wan gets to AotC, there's also about two dozen Anakin clones on-site. They're all girls because... IDK Anakin is trans. They have a hive mind and are developmentally a few years younger than Anakin himself.
It's incredibly unsettling to Obi-Wan.
It's almost definitely a "fuck with Anakin's already fragile mental health" ploy by Palpatine, along with a "what if Jedi Black Widows, for me, a Sith Lord. Wouldn't that be neat? That would be neat."
Anakin is torn between "this freaks me out" and "GANG OF BABY SISTERS LET'S GOOOOOOO."
(I just finished reading Like Real People Do by glimmerglanger, so this is definitely inspired by that and the obligatory 'lay back in bed and daydream variations on plot points of that fic you just really enjoyed,' and also a little by Same Heart, Same Blood by loosingletters.)
They're physically like 14-16 on average, and Anakin's vibrating out of his skin with a million conflicting emotions, but when he tells Padme she's just like "oh, you have a handmaiden gang!"
I told this to @willowcrowned and she suggested:
Once Anakin decides to repress the part of him that’s weirded out and just regard them as baby sisters he gets. A little strange about it The first time one of them dies he may or may not slaughter every person he can [in response to Padme's comment] Anakin starts worrying that he needs to get them cool matching outfits
I also chatted about it with @firebirdeternal and they said:
Gang of Unsettling Smol Siblings is exactly the Karma that Anakin deserves
Do you think the Clones have a kind of Collective Name that they use at first that eventually just kind of morphs into a new last name? Skysisters or something? Like Palpatine was trying to be clever and name them like the Nightsisters.
I initially went with "functionally one person" hive-mind but I'm torn.
I think maybe they're BASICALLY one person on Kamino but drift into Separate Consciousness once they're far enough apart physically that their minds don't blend from proximity anymore.
Then they start Dating (like half of them are dating Fett clones because they grew up with these dudes, it's like childhood friends romance), and Anakin loses his mind about Protecting Them and They're Too Young.
Padme: You're nineteen and we just got married, they can date. Anakin: THEY'RE EIGHT. Padme: And the Fett clones are ten and dying for us in the field. Get them rights before you panic about their love lives.
Firebird:
it could be worse, one of them could imprint on Obi-Wan. "Anakin I promise I won't yell at you for the next five stupid things you do if you can figure out a way to stop this baby from having a crush on me" (I like the idea of Obi-wan bargaining not with "I won't be mad at you ever" because they Both Know That's Not True, and instead haggling with specific allowances. Like he's handing out Stupidity Coupons)
Please imagine Mace and Obi-Wan's personal responses to the idea of suddenly having to deal with not one, not two, but OVER TWENTY SKYWALKERS.
Plo is delighted to take one off their hands.
So is Yoda.
Willow:
Mace is like. okay suicide isn’t the Jedi way but on the other hand. i physically cannot deal with this Yoda: a skywalker, you say? one who is tall enough to reach the top shelf, you say? such a skywalker, bring me
Anakin would be given at least one because fuck you, suffer with us, but he's still a padawan so Ugh, fine, no.
I want to say one stays on Coruscant to hang out with the Guard, and ends up half-adopted by Padme. She keeps dressing up the Aniclone left with her in handmaiden outfits and sending selfies to Anakin.
"Hanging out with the little SiL!"
Anakin has so many issues about WHEN his genetic material was acquired.
And there's some confusion from the Fett clones about how much of a hive mind is normal for Jedi. They are confused that the answer is basically none, and "this is WHY nobody clones a Jedi"
ONE OF THEM STEALS BOBA FROM THE ARENA ON GEONOSIS.
Firebird:
"I have followed in our progenitor's footsteps and acquired a sibling." holds up a struggling Boba "He bites."
Willow:
Ooooo okay so if they have a sort of hive mind then they probably don’t have names other than their designations on Kamino right BUT When they SEPARATE The one that picks Boba up on Geonosis gets a name specifically for that. Okay what if the one Padmé picks up gets some variant on ‘pretty’ because she’s always being dressed up BELLE Maybe Yoda’s Ani has a name that means thief? Because obviously Yoda is using Anakin to steal sweets
So, to make the timeline work...
I don't think anyone would give Anakin one of his sisters until after he's knighted at least.
So obviously when they're doing initial placements none of the sisters go to him or Obi-Wan.
Once he's knighted, of course they're already all placed with someone, and Anakin instead gets Ahsoka. He loves Ahsoka. She is also a little sister. He said so.
At some point afterwards, one of the sisters is left without a place because the Master that was in charge of her died in the field battle.
That sister then gets placed with Obi-Wan, because he's already mostly-successfully raised one Skywalker, so he can do it again.
Anakin gets to hang out with her basically all the time.
Ahsoka is very very jealous of this girl stealing Anakin's attention.
Anakin is oblivious to the rivalry.
He asks Barriss to look after them while he's discussing Adult War Things with Luminara and Obi-Wan, and Barriss gets an eye into This Mess, which is quickly colored by Ahsoka growing a puppy crush on the lovely Miss Offee herself.
Firebird:
Ahsoka: Ah yes, my nemesis. Anisister: Ah yes, my new older sister whom I want to impress so bad.
"I will impress her by being Stoic and Competent" "Oh my god she must think she's so much better than me what a bitch"
Anakin is oblivious to most things to be fair Anakin: Laser focused precision fighting machine who can read the tiniest body movements and predict your moves seconds in advance, who also cannot understand even the most basic social nuance. I was originally writing this as to Dunk on Anakin but then I made myself sad, because none of those things are really his fault.
So you know that post about like, Sasuke and Brooding, specifically in the context of "Brooding" as it's used to refer to Nesting Chickens? Grouchy and protective and sitting on a tennis ball trying to hatch it because they're just. "These are my Babies." Anakin Broods. Baby sisters. Must protecc. "I'm actually fine and extremely deadly in combat." "MUST PROTECT."
Bad Guy: [catches Ahsoka in a Trap] Aniclone: Must rescue sister! Aniclone: [fights, is not winning fight, gets ouched] Ahsoka tearing her way out of Trap: I lived bitch. Also: stay the fuck away from her. [murders so hard]
Ahsoka catches the Protective Older Sib feels by the traditional method: "Hey, only I'm allowed to be mean to them."
Willow:
Oh Anakin has no clue what’s going on. He walks in on Ahsoka glaring at the Ani and is like!!! Little sisters!!! Bonding!!! When Ahsoka was about three seconds away from tossing her out of the airlock. Ahsoka mistakenly assumes that Barriss has a crush on the Ani, and gets even MORE jealous.
Obi-Wan is like oh god. I can’t take care of an Anakin going through puberty again. He’s great with periods and other stuff because he read about a billion books. He is TERRIBLE with everything else, as he was the first time.
Barriss is like???? YOU'RE BOTH CHILDREN, PLEASE CALM DOWN, I HAVE ZERO INTEREST IN DATING ANYONE, LET ALONE SOMEONE YOUR AGE.
IDK how old Obi-Wan's Aniclone is, probably physically the same age as Ahsoka?
Per @atagotiak on discord:
Also something something, similarities btw Anakin and Obi-Wan where like. "Am I a parent? That seems uncomfortable, I'm too young to be a dad to a kid this age, I mean I'm cool with being a mentor/caretaker but..."
Obi-Wan can't even sidestep parenthood this time.
"Is Anakin basically your dad?" "Uhhhhhh" [Muffled discussion] "So Obi-Wan is your dad." "Okay!" "WAIT NO I DIDN'T AGREE TO THIS"
Ahsoka: She's stealing my brother, that BITCH. Obi-Wan's Aniclone: new sister new sister new sister gotta make a good impression
Firebird:
I feel like the Sister Squad would make very effective interstellar espionage agents Even like, kind of by accident. They just get encouraged to branch out in their interests and figure out what they want to do with their lives and end up all over the dang place, and since they're all pretty dang competent they tend to gravitate towards Important Positions wherever they end up. Except for one sister who just retires to raise Space Sheep.
I like that in this AU Palpatine is just like "I will create an army of Loyal Murderers who will obey my every whim and also be a big psychological lever on my Other Pet Murderer," and then they all just Baby Duckling imprint on the first Jedi to be nice to them instead and he has to just be like "Wait no not like that."
AND one of them Steals Boba
I want Obi-Wan's Aniclone to start dating Fives. All the sisters judge her for it, because he's a Goof. A very competent, ARC Trooper goof! But a goof.
Not as goofy as Anakin, though.
Firebird:
Who expects a clone of Anakin Skywalker to not make questionable lifelong romantic choices impulsively?

so I am a bit of a sucker for the concept of Force-sensitive Sabine Wren. I just think it's sad that Tarre Vizsla (Viszla? I can never remember) is the only Jedilorian out there.
And I've done an Inquisitor!Sabine AU, and an AU where Sabine becomes a Jedi when she's in her 20s, but I've never done an AU where she was raised as a Jedi. Except now I have!
I can see this going one of two ways:
It follows the canon timeline
It begins right before the Siege of Mandalore main battle. Sabine is two-ish, and just starting to make things float.
Her parents know what this means. They also know that if they lose the coming battle, if Maul wins, there's a possibility he'll find Sabine.
They would rather send their daughter away than risk that.
Plus... Ursa can't help thinking about Tarre Vizsla.
So Ursa brings her daughter along when Bo-Katan and Ahsoka meet up with the Dream Team and gives her to Skywalker-and-Kenobi with instructions to bring her to the Jedi temple.
A few days later, when O66 goes down, Sabine is in the creche.
But Padawan Dume sprained his ankle just before the mission to Kaller. He had to stay behind. It's healed by the time the 501st marches on the temple.
That means that he's able to run away.
And if he happens to accidentally rescue a toddler on his way out, well, that's just a bonus.
When they're safe, hidden away, Caleb thinks to ask the kid for her name. She stops chewing on her hand long enough to say "Bean."
Thus Begin The Adventures Of Caleb And Bean
Since they meet a lot earlier, their dynamic is more like siblings instead of Space Dad and Space Daughter. Granted, siblings with a 12 year difference, but still siblings.
In this universe, Sabine has no idea she's Mandalorian. She just thinks she was a completely normal crecheling, not The Next Tarre Viszla. Somehow she still gets her hands on armor. Not beskar, but still armor.
She also dual wields. She's weaponizing both of her hands. Why have one invincible plasma sword when you can have TWO
They still join the Ghost crew. They always join the Ghost crew. my space family is destined to vibe together.
I can't decide if this change means ezra has no crush on her, or an even bigger crush on her. (I guess it depends on if you ship them or not.) Because they could either be like Sabine: kanan was MY jedi master FIRST, get your OWN Ezra: well he said he'd train ME, TOO, so YOU'RE just gonna have to DEAL WITH IT
OR they could be like sabine: *does some sort of super cool jedi thing with her two laser swords and a spin kick in the middle of a fight* ezra: she could step on me and i would thank her
actually yknow what
Tumblr media
Ahsoka gives her Jar'Kai lessons.
IDK how, but this turns into a fix-it eventually.
OR
It's an Everything Is Happy timeline.
Palpatine dies offscreen somewhere.
I think it starts the same, with the send-Sabine-to-the-temple-for-safety. Except then nothing goes wrong!
Ursa insists Sabine learn about her heritage as well as get Jedi Lessons and the council is like, ok, fine, Mirialans get to do that, I guess Mandalorians can, too.
At age thirteen, she becomes Ahsoka's Padawan. With her penchant for large explosions, it's only right that she become part of the Disaster Lineage.
Anakin: you're my favorite grandpadawan Sabine: I'm your only grandpadawan
anakin is definitely the grandpa who spoils her rotten
Plus, Cool Uncle Rex.
She still gloms onto Caleb but it's more of a dadfriend thing. She's definitely Ahsoka's padawan, through and through.
Also, during her time in the creche, she absolutely corrupted all the other younglings. There was a petition to change the clan name to mythosaur clan. a couple of the younglings decide they want armor, too, when they grow up.
The clones all think she's the best baby sister.
A while into Sabine's padawanship, Master Tano gets sent on a mission with Master Dume. They bring their respective padawans.
(ezra was definitely part of loth-wolf clan in the creche)
mace: so how did my great-grandpadawan do on his first mission? caleb: good, except for when he got distracted by master tano's apprentice and walked face first into a doorframe ezra: yknow you really don't need to keep telling people about that
but then ezra sees caleb's reaction to that pilot lady from ryloth that they end up running into on a different mission and gets his sweet sweet revenge
ezra: HAHA you're in LOVE caleb: i am not. ezra: YOU'RE caleb: padawan. ezra: IN LOVE caleb: padawan. ezra: YOU'REINLOVE
(Ezra says this while Hera is, like, three feet away.)
Imagine the headache Mace Windu gets when he realizes that his great-grandpadawan is best friends with someone who is (a) Anakin "walking dumpster fire" Skywalker's grandpadawan, (b) Ahsoka "I tear out the innards of a droid with my teeth" Tano's padawan, and (c) a crazy dual-wielding Mandalorian Jedi.
Please. Please picture Sabine, wearing a mix of traditional Jedi robes and Mandalorian armor (jetpack included of course,) Jar'Kai-ing her way through a base full of holdout separatist droids that have captured her family (a la The Last Battle from rebels s3).
Meanwhile, that family, tied up somewhere, watching: Anakin: YES THAT IS MY GRANDDAUGHTER LOOK AT HER GO LOOK AT HER KICK BUTT Cody: HAHA I TAUGHT HER THAT SPIN KICK Ahsoka: TEAR EM TO PIECES, KID Rex: *unintelligible whooping* Obi-Wan, feeling a strange kinship to Mace Windu: you're all terrible influences
oh my gosh. sabine and padme friendship. yes. this is good.
I think at some point something happens and Ahsoka, Sabine, Caleb, and Ezra are all stuck on this planet with Hera and Chopper and a Lasat who they don't know but who pays them to give him a ride, and their only ship is the Ghost, but the hyperdrive broke and they have to go on the galactic equivalent of a cross-country road trip that takes several days and has a lot of shenanigans along the way. I might elaborate more on that later.
oh darn it now i wanna write a modern AU where the ghost is a big old station wagon and it's a road trip buddy comedy thing
