마눌과 35년만에 부산을 찾았다.그때의 푸릇했던 모습은 간곳 없지만 또 얼마만큼의 세월이 흐른뒤에는 오늘을 반추하겠지.TV로는 봤었지만 부산은 모든게 변해있었다.35년전을 추억 할 수 있는 것은 그저 불리워지는 지역명 뿐이었다.해운대,태종대,광안리.어쩌면 우리나라 모든곳에서 격고있는 산통이리라.도심을 점령한 고층아파트들.그것을 연결하기 위해 만들어진 도로들.그리고차량과 사람들.전국의 도심 모습이 관광지 주변이 똑같아 지고 있었다.예전에 왔던곳은 아니지만 이번 마눌과의 첫번째 여행지로 해동 용궁사를 찾았다.sns로 접한 용궁사가 아름다웠기 때문이었다.와 보니 바닷가 바위위에 수평선을 바라보며 지어진 절은 너무 아름다웠다.그래서인지 내국인보다 많은 외국인들로 절은 붐볐다.한가지 소원은 들어준다는 소문때문인지 자기 태어난 해에 십이간지의 초를 사서 태우는 사람들도 있고,종이를 사서 소원을 적어 안전 울타리에 매다는 사람들도 있었다.나는 소원을 빌지 않기로 했다.저 모든 소원을 들어야만 할 관세음보살님을 위하여. 용궁사 경내를 다 돌아 본뒤,마눌이 십년전에 푸짐하고 맛있게 먹었다는 연화리를 찾았다.이곳도 많이 변했다고 마누라가 옛날 풍경을 설명을 하는데 어느 관광지 변천사와 다르지 않다.차에서 내리자 마자 우리 내외를 보고 소리치는 아주머니를 외면 할 수가 없어 다른데를 둘러 보지도 않고 주문을 하며 물어 보았다,지금도 할머니 해녀들이 물길질을 하며 잡아 오느냐고.사장님은 해녀분들이 잡은 것은 없단다.그럼 다 국산이긴하나요 했더니 그런것도 있고 수입하는 것도 있단다.거기에는 원산지 표시는 없었다.우린 40000원짜리 해산물세트를 시켰고,바다가 보이는 창가 포차에 앉아 그 엿날 해운데 포장마차에서 기타도 치며 해산물을 팔던 포장마차 이야기를 했다.그땐 둘이 있는 것만으로 좋았고,모든 몸짓 모든 말을 기억하고 이해하려 했고 세상이 단 한 사람만으로 존재했던 시절이었다.지금 나는 그때만큼 사랑하고 있는지 반문해 보았다.해산물은 둘이 먹기에 충분했고 신선하고 맛있었다.카드가 안돼서 현찰로 계산을 하고 포장마차를 나왔다

Typhoon Warning

It was a gloomy and overcast Busan morning when my travel partner and I received a text message. It was a text message written in Korean.

Despite the warning emoji being used, ⚠️ , without much of a second thought or taking the effort to translate it in Google Translate, we ignored the text. In spite of the weather, we were still determined to make the most of our day in Busan and proceeded with our planned itinerary, taking a bus down to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (해동 용궁사 / 海東龍宮寺).

The temple was unlike any other I had ever seen, situated right next to the sea. We remained in high spirits while exploring the temple grounds until I noticed some unusual wave patterns that set off panic within me. As the waves started crashing stronger against the temple structure, it prompted us to climb to a higher point. As I watched the waves, in awe of its powerful strikes, I can't help but wonder about how vulnerable life is. It is wild to think that this incredible structure had been playing tug-of-war with nature for centuries and yet, with remarkable architecture, engineering, and the use of simple yet strong materials, it remains standing against all odds. *Additional Information* – During the Goryeo Dynasty, the temple was constructed in the year 1376 by Naong, a renowned teacher, and it was initially referred to as Bomun Temple (보문사) .

Later, we discovered the text message was likely a typhoon alert. In that moment, the experience left me with a newfound appreciation for the power and beauty of the natural world, and our place in it.
