1 for the personal asks đ or dealer's choice if you've already gotten that one!
Elizabeth Bennet is one of my favorite literary characters, and since the novel came out over 200 years ago it seems unlikely that Jane Austen will become problematic lol. I like to think modern day Lizzie would hyphenate her name because she's independent but not above using her husband's name to get what she wants.
Ask me stuff!

HI! For the V Day prompts: 27. âI never thought driving around could be romanticâ (or another one that brings you joy if you've done this already) đđŚ
Hello! Thank you for the prompt đ Hope you like it:
Buck runs his hands down the sides of his black slacks. His hands are sweating and he shifts uncomfortably in the driver's seat of the jeep.
Jesus, he hasn't even gotten to Eddie's door yet and he is about to fall apart.
Buck takes a deep breath and counts to ten. Okay, he can do this. It's just Eddie, his best friend in the whole world, the most brave and kind and sassy man he has ever met, and the greatest dad to the best kid in the world. He has no reason to be nervous around Eddie, who has seen him at his worst, but he can't help it.
Tonight's their first date.
Buck had finally gotten the courage to ask Eddie out last week, stumbling and blushing his way through asking Eddie to go out to eat with him at this new fancy Italian restaurant 45 minutes away.
Buck thinks of the smile on Eddie's face when Buck asked. How he had laughed in joy and disbelief, his brown eyes fucking sparkling, and said yes. That memory alone soothes his nerves enough for him to get out of the car.
He walks to Eddie's door and before he can know it opens wide.
Oh, he is beautiful.
Eddie's wearing a three piece maroon suit, and it fits him perfectly. The pants stretch deliciously over his thighs, and the jacket highlights his broad shoulders and bulging biceps.
"H-Hey," Buck stammers. He can feel the flush traveling across his face and internally groans. So much for being suave and debonair.
Eddie smirks at him. "Took you long enough."
Buck ducks his head and rubs the back of his neck. "I'm kinda nervous," he admits.
Eddie's face softens and he steps toward Buck, placing his hand over Buck's racing heart. "Me, too," he murmurs.
Buck raises a disbelieving eyebrow.
Eddie smiles sheepishly. "I called Maddie in a panic and made her go shopping with me. She picked out the suit."
Buck drags his eyes over Eddie slowly. "Thank God for Maddie."
Eddie laughs bright and loud and it makes Buck ache. If he heard nothing but the sound of Eddie laughing for the rest of his life he would be happy. He wants nothing more than to keep Eddie smiling and laughing.
Eddie drags his hand down Buck's chest slowly before pulling away. "Ready?"
Somehow, Buck knows he is asking about more than just the date.
"Yeah," Buck breathes, feeling warm and bubbly and happy, "I'm ready."
...
Buck is lost.
He could have swore he put the right address into the GPS but something went haywire and now he and Eddie are driving aimlessly through LA trying to find the restaurant.
Buck groans. "I'm so sorry, Eddie."
Eddie huffs. "It's OK, Buck."
"No, it isn't," Buck says irritability. "I had a plan, okay? This restaurant was just the right amount of fancy with really great and comforting lighting and it serves that bolognese you love so much, and I was going to ply you with wine and woo you over your noodles."
"Pull over," Eddie says.
Buck looks over at him quizzically for a moment before returning his eyes to the road. "What?"
"Just pull over. Please." Eddie's voice is strained and Buck has never been one to deny him anything so within a few minutes he finds a place to park the jeep.
Buck turns to Eddie, wary and nervous again, but that fades once he sees Eddie's face.
The look Eddie is giving him is-well, it's full of love. Eddie is looking at him like he is some kind of miracle, all soft and amazed.
"I love you," Eddie blurts out.
Buck's eyes go wide and his mouth drops open.
Eddie grabs Buck's hand in between his and runs his thumb across Buck's knuckles. "You are the most thoughtful, sweet, and caring man I have ever met, and I couldn't go another second without letting you know that."
Buck stares at him, unable to fully comprehend what is happening. "But... I've ruined our date, Ed's. We missed our reservation and have been driving around this stupid city for over an hour now."
Eddie shakes his head and let's go of Buck's had to cradle his face. "Buck, I don't love you for what you can do for me. Don't get me wrong, the thought you put into this date is so wonderful and unlike anything anyone has ever done for me before. But I love you just because you're you. I've had more fun riding around in this jeep with you, talking and laughing and listening to your terrible singing, than I've ever had in my entire life."
"Huh," Buck says, "I never thought driving around could be romantic."
Eddie rolls his eyes and runs his thumbs lovingly across Buck's cheeks. "Anything else about what I said you want to focus on?"
Buck's brow furrows in thought, confused until- "Oh! Oh, Eddie, of course I love you too. How could I not?" he asks helplessly.
The smile Eddie gives him in that moment will remain etched into Buck's memory for the rest of his life.
Eddie leans in and brushes a kiss against Buck's temple, his birthmark, his cheek, his jaw.
Buck trembles under Eddie's hands and lips and he leans forward to brush his nose against Eddie's.
Finally, their lips meet. The kiss is gentle at first but quickly turns demanding. Eddie presses down on Buck's chin to open his mouth wider, and when their tongues slide against each other, Buck let's out a moan.
Soon the kiss slows. Eddie pulls away, then gives Buck a couple more soft pecks and says, "Best date ever, baby."

Three weeks later, Hen and Karen renew their wedding vows.
Three weeks later, Buck has spent twenty-one nights in Eddieâs bed and approximately nineteen of them extremely aware that Eddieâs bed might be the only place in life he ever wants to be. That he wants to fall into Eddieâs bed at the end of the day and not have to concentrate on keeping his limbs separate from Eddieâs, which seems pointless anyway since they wake up every morning curled into each other.
Three weeks later, Buck has spent approximately eighty per cent of his time berating himself for taking this long to notice that he is ass over teakettle in love with his best friend.
So now Hen and Karen are renewing their wedding vows, and Buck isâBuck is a lot of things, but heâs mostly worried about the concept of Eddie in a suit.
Buck is, after all, only one man. Heâs a little worried it might be too much for him to handle.
send me an intimate romance prompt!
The day Jonah goes after Chimney and Hen is the last day Buck will ever set foot in his loft, but he doesnât know it at the time.
The end of the day finds him at Chimneyâs apartment, tickling Jee-Yun's belly with one hand and holding his phone in the other, staring down at it and trying to figure out whether heâs in the process of talking himself into or out of calling Eddie.
Into, because his head is full of thoughts tripping over each other at the speed of light, and every time he manages to catch one it makes him so angry he wants to throw things. So angry he probably would, if not for the baby half-asleep next to him. Into, because he feels like a piece of driftwood battered about by the sea, and Eddieâs always been good at bringing him to shore.
Out of, because itâs late and Eddieâs an hour ahead of him anyway, and Eddieâs been travelling and needs his sleep. Out of, because Eddieâs just spent twenty-four uninterrupted hours with his parents for the first time in years and he probably has more important things to worry about than the fact that Buckâs longest-ever relationship is in the process of imploding.
He doesnât have to make the decision, in the end, because Eddie calls him. Buck figures itâs because he wants to bitch about his parents and makes it halfway through his half-hearted question before Eddie cuts him off with a snort.
âThatâs not why I called, Buck,â he says, the same kind of fond exasperation in his voice as when Buck tries to leave his house before dinner. His donât be stupid, Buck voice, the one tinged with just enough affection that Buck canât ever bring himself to get annoyed about the stupid part. âI saw your girlfriend on tv.â
Even through the phone, Buck can hear the way Eddieâs mouth curves around the word girlfriend like itâs sharp. Spiky. Like a landmine on his tongue.
âYeah, well,â Buck says. âThat is definitely a thing that happened.â
âDo you want to talk about it?â Eddie asks.
âNo,â Buck says, âItâs justââ
He then proceeds to rant about it for another seventeen minutes.
âBut you donât want to talk about it,â Eddie says, and the slight laugh hidden behind his words travels down the phone and settles between Buckâs ribs, holding him afloat.
âShut up,â Buck mutters. Heâs quiet for a moment, then: âI have to break up with her, donât I?â
âDo you want to break up with her?â Eddie asks.
âYeah,â Buck says, immediate, and tries not to think about how the word feels like relief. âIâyeah. I think maybe I did anyway.â
âLiving together not all itâs cracked up to be?â
âDo you think itâs possible to love someone but not really like them?â Buck asks instead of answering.
Eddie huffs. âYou remember where I am right now, right?â Then he sighs. âBut I figure itâs probably different when itâs family.â
âYeah,â Buck says. âYeah, it probably is.â
So the next day he goes back to his loft, a speech for breaking up with Taylor prepared and ready to go, but Taylor stands in the doorway and doesnât let him in. And Buck had been prepared for a screaming match, but all thatâs left is quiet resignation. Like itâs a done deal. Whichâis probably fair, he thinks. Heâd probably be resigned, too, if heâd gotten the kind of voicemails heâd left Taylor last night.
Buck wonders if maybe he should kick Taylor outâit was his apartment first, after allâbut it seems like a lot of effort for an apartment thatâs never felt like more than a place to sleep and store his things. So he mutters something about figuring out details about the apartment later and turns on his heel, on autopilot down the hall and into his jeep and down the roads he knows like the back of his hand. He lets himself into Eddieâs house, and the relieved breath he draws feels like his first real one all day.
Itâs only early afternoon, but exhaustion weighs on Buck like rocks piling upon his shoulders. Just an hour or two, he thinks. He has time to nap for an hour or two before he needs to pick Eddie and Christopher up from the airport. Eddie doesnât know heâs coming, but Buck can already imagine the pleased sort of surprise that will spread across his face when Eddie spots him.
Only he stretches out on Eddieâs bed and closes his eyes, and the next thing he knows heâs blinking them open in the hazy half-darkness of twilight and the bed is shifting from the weight of someone sitting on it.
âHey, Buck,â Eddie says, and when Buck manages to get his eyes all the way open he sees Eddieâs soft smile, the one heâs pretty sure only he and Christopher have ever seen.
âFuck,â Buck groans. âI was gonnaââ
âHey,â Eddie says. âIf I could pick between airport pickup and this, I would pick this every time.â
Buck doesnât think heâs awake enough to start picking apart whatever that might mean. âYou could have had both,â he mumbles instead. âThis is the closest thing I have to a home right now.â
âMy bed?â Eddie asks.
âWhole house,â Buck says. âWe didnâtâTaylor and I didnât talk about what to do about the loft, but Iâm gonna give it to her. She doesnât have a you.â
âNo one does,â Eddie says. âNo one but you.â
âNo,â Buck agrees. âSoâI can stay here? Forââ
âFor as long as you need,â Eddie interrupts. âYou know that.â
âYeah,â Buck mumbles. âI know.â
âYou do have to move over, though,â Eddie says. âYou only get to sleep in my bed if you make room for me.â
It seems fair enough, Buck thinks as he drifts back into sleep.
Heâs spent the past three weeks adjusting to exactly how badly he wants to put his mouth on Eddie. And his hands. And hisâ
The point is, after three weeks heâs getting pretty good at controlling himself around the versions of Eddie he sees every day. Eddie in his uniform, the fabric stretching tight over his shoulders and his ass; Eddie in his turnouts, still preening a little every time he pulls the suspenders on now that heâs back on active duty. Eddie at home, soft and unguarded in sweats and well-worn henleys; Eddie, first thing in the morning, rubbing sleep from his eyes with his hair sticking every which way. These are versions heâs used to, as much as anyone can ever be used to the vision that is Eddie Diaz.
But he hasnât built up an immunity to Eddie in a suit. He hasnât seen Eddie in a suit sinceâheâs not sure he ever has, actually. So Buck just wants it known for the record that in the event he loses his entire mind, itâs not his fault. Itâs the suit.
Eddieâs standing in front of the hallway mirror muttering to himself, and Buck canât tear his eyes away from the lines of his shoulders, the close cut of his suit pants. It takes him a moment to realise that the smooth rippling of Eddieâs arms is because heâs trying to tie his tie, and that the muttering consists mainly of swearwords.
âHey,â Buck says, stepping closer. âNeed a hand?â
âI need Windsor knots to be less fucking complicated,â Eddie says.
Buck rolls his eyes. âHere, let me do it.â
âI can tie my own tie, Buck.â
âCan you?â Buck asks, gesturing at the tie Eddie is clutching.
âIn theory,â Eddie says.
âWell, let me do it in practice,â Buck says. âOr weâre gonna be late in a second. Chris is all but sitting in the car honking for us.â
âFine,â Eddie grumbles. He turns as if to face Buck, but Buck grabs his shoulders and positions him back in front of the mirror, moving to stand behind him.
âI only know how to do it this way,â Buck says, reaching around him. Eddie stands still in the circle of his arms, and when Buck speaks he can see goosebumps rise on Eddieâs skin where the exhale from his words brushes past.
Buck works quickly, carefully, trying to focus all of his attention on his hands and not on the fact that if he just turned his head a little his lips would meet Eddieâs cheek. If he shifted his weight the slightest bit forward, the fly of his pants would press against Eddieâs ass.
Yeah, heâs trying to keep his mind off that one.
The moment lasts a lifetime and itâs over before it even begins, and Buck briefly entertains the idea of messing it up and redoing it just to stand here a few seconds more. But the longer he stands here, the more tempted he is to throw caution to the wind and press his lips to the side of Eddieâs throat, and thatâs a line he wonât be able to uncross.
So he adjusts the knot, tugs on Eddieâs collar to make sure the points are even, and takes a step back.
In front of him, Eddie exhales, like maybe heâs been holding his breath.
âOkay, good to go,â Buck says, his voice only the tiniest bit shaky. âWe shouldââ
Heâs interrupted by a honk from outside, and Eddie huffs a laugh. âI thought you were kidding about the honking.â
Buck shrugs. âI gave him the keys, he made his own decisions.â
âI feel like you should have seen this coming.â
âMaybe,â Buck grins. âBut come on, we should go before he gets carried away and the neighbours complain.â
âHe gets that from you,â Eddie mutters. âI didnât raise him to be obnoxious like that.â
Buck snorts, even as warmth spreads through him. âSure you didnât.â
Eddie grins. âNo comment.â
Eddieâs fucking with him. Eddie has to be fucking with him, because Buck canât think of a single other good reason for anything Eddie is doing right now.
It starts the second they take their seats for the vow renewal ceremony. Christopher sits between them, and Eddie stretches his arm out along the back of Christopherâs chair. Then his fingers brush Buckâs arm. Itâs light at first, barely there, so brief Buck almost thinks he imagines it. But then it happens again, and when Buck whirls around to look at him, Eddie quirks the corner of his mouth into half a smile.
It starts there, and it keeps going, like Eddieâs magnetised and Buck is the pole. Eddieâs never more than a few feet away from him, touching him more often than not. Itâs an arm pressed against his when they lean against the bar together, a knee brushing his thigh under the table when they sit down for dinner. Itâs Eddie going to the bar and bringing back drinks for both of them, and Eddie standing behind his chair, resting his forearms on Buckâs shoulders and leaning over him to talk to Maddie when he comes back instead of just taking his seat.Â
Buck looks up, craning his head back to look at Eddie. From his vantage point he canât see much, just the jut of his chin, the tip of his nose and the occasional flash of hair. Then Eddie looks down at him, leaning back a little so Buck can see his face, and itâs upside down but Buckâs pretty sure thatâs Eddieâs Buck-and-Christopher smile.Â
Buck opens his mouth to ask a questionâheâs not sure which question, exactly, but itâs probably somewhere in the neighbourhood of what the fuckâbut the music thatâs playing shifts into a song that Buck recognises from Eddieâs kitchen playlist, and Eddieâs face splits into a grin.
âHey,â he says, his fingertips tapping out the beat on Buckâs sternum. âCome dance with me.âÂ
And whatâs Buck going to do, say no? Of course he follows Eddie out onto the makeshift dance floor. Eddie takes his hand, and Buckâs only ever seen Eddie doing something Christopher calls dad dancing but this is definitely not that. This is Eddie moving fluidly in time with the song. This is Eddieâs hips rolling and Eddieâs hand settling on Buckâs waist, pulling him closer, until their bodies are pressed together and Buck moves along with Eddie. This is Eddieâs breath warm against Buckâs ear and the slight scruff along Eddieâs jawline scraping against Buckâs cheek, and this is Buck about to lose his entire mind.
âEddieââ he manages to say, trying very hard to keep his voice level and not too breathy. âEddie, what are youââ
âWhat am I doing?â Eddie asks, a glint in his eye, and Buck nods.
âIâm testing a theory,â Eddie says.
Buck frowns. âWhatâs your theory?â
âThis,â Eddie says, whisper-soft. Thereâs a moment, and then Eddie leans in and his lips meet Buckâs. Heâs stunned into stillness for one heartbeat, two, then Buckâs hand comes up to cup Eddieâs jaw and the other one clutches the tie heâd tied for Eddie earlier. Heâs probably pulling it askew, but Eddieâs mouth is soft on his, warm, insistent and gentle all at once, and Eddie tastes a little like the champagne theyâve been drinking and a lot like home, and the tie doesnât really seem important in the midst of all that.Â
âAccurate,â Buck murmurs when Eddie pulls away, breathing hard, going only far enough to rest his forehead against Buckâs. Music is still playing, something slower, now, and Buck isnât sure whether theyâre swaying in time to the song or the beat of their intertwined hearts.
âWhat?â Eddie asks, eyebrows furrowing.
âYour theory,â Buck says. âI donât know, is accurate the right word? Are theories accurate? Should it be correct?â
âWe can look it up later,â Eddie promises, ducking in for a quick kiss that turns into two, three.Â
Buck snatches one more, then: âEddie?âÂ
âYeah?â Eddie says, running his thumb along Buckâs cheekbone.
âWill you take me home?âÂ
Eddie grins, the bright kind of smile thatâs been Buckâs north star for longer than he even knows how to count. âYeah, Buck,â he says. âLetâs go home.â
(Later, once they get home and put Christopher to bed, Buck unties Eddieâs tie. Itâs a lot more fun that way.)

Hello!!!!!!!! I remember being heavily invested in LA zoo TikTok Buck before (any updates???? đĽşđđ) but I also wanna ask about You belong with me? (Although tbf I wanna know about all of them đ) đđŚ
Hi Hippo!
@mangacat201 also asked after LA zoo TikTok Buck. Sadly there have been no updates on it until now when this scene popped into my head, enjoy!
Eddie looks over to the closed door where his son is sleeping before clicking on the video. Unlike on the LA Zoo TikTok account, where Buck is usually wearing his uniform, Buck is naked from the waist up in this video. He's standing at a kitchen counter, chopping fruit for his morning smoothie. He's talking about the origins of smoothies, which Eddie had never thought about before and very likely wouldn't have found very interesting if it wasn't for this gorgeous man talking about it.
He clicks on the comment section and just as he expects most of the comments are about how hot Buck is, how they would love to wake up to that in the mornings. Eddie snorts some of the more ridiculous comments.
Eddie types out the comment 'Really interesting information, thanks for sharing!' and hits send before he places his phone down on the coffee table. He tries to focus on the telenovela but his eyes keep going back to his phone.
He sighs and picks it up again and starts scrolling through Buck's videos. Most of them are like the first, Buck making food and talking about some random fact. Eddie finds himself smiling stupidly at how enthusiastic Buck is about all the differing topics. It kinda reminds him of how Chris gets when talking about his current favourite thing. Eddie ends up saving some of the videos that he knows his son will find interesting before finally hitting that follow button.
'You Belong with me' fic is inspired by Taylor Swift's song of the same name. Basically at 12, the Buckley's move to El Paso and their new neighbours are the Diaz's:
And you've got a smile, That can light up this whole town (I haven't seen it in a while)
Evan was twelve years old when his parents packed him up and left Hershey and Maddie behind. Maddie, his best friend, his older sister and the only one in their family that actually cared about him. She had told them at Friday night dinner that Doug had proposed and she had said yes, it was just a week early that they had found out that she and Doug were moving to Boston. The two siblings had both waited with baited breaths because they knew that their parents would not take the news well. But Evan never thought they would pack and leave her behind. He could still see Maddieâs tear-streaked face, her words still ringing in his ears:
âYou canât just leave me behind and forget me like you did with him!â
Evan didnât know who âheâ was and from the flinch from both his parents, he was pretty sure he didnât want to know. His unusual thirst for knowledge had dried up as he stared at Maddie through the rear window, curled up on herself, making her seem even smaller than she already was.
Evan was twelve when he met his next-door neighbours, the perfect little family, three children and two parents who love their kids. He was twelve when he met Eddie Diaz, the perfect son and decided to hate him. He was also twelve when he decided that he didnât really hate Eddie Diaz anymore and they became the best of friends.Â
Thanks for asking! đŠˇâ¤ď¸đ§ĄđđđŠľđđ
