what’s the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

honestly the amount of rabbit holes research-wise i get into for things that are, frankly, inconsequential to a story are Vast and Numerous. I think the weirdest was probably when i dove down a quantum physics rabbit hole while working on April 6th- that fic ALSO takes the award for me teaching myself Twine in order to make a game, something that literally no one asked me to do and which wasn't strictly necessary for the writing that I did but which I'm still immensely proud of lmao
