Iset and Ewaki made for an odd pair in the maul. Iset was a mummy princess that appeared to be little more than a child, while Ewaki was an extremely tall fairy with gray skin, horns, and bat wings. He had a couple of bags in each arm, and occasionally would turn his head to let out a sound that any vampire within a 30 mile radius would recognize as echolocation.

"Thanks for carrying my bags, Ewaki," Iset said, smiling up at him. "I can't carry more than a couple myself, and I don't want to bother the servants just because I want to go shopping.

I love your interpretation of the lamb, who's almost always calm and not much surprises them anymore. When's the last time they had a serious emotional moment, either angry or sad, where their facade totally cracked? I can't help but imagine it must have been a very long time ago.

sometimes you find out that the divinity you worshipped wholeheartedly has a mortal name and was once the brother of the bishops you vowed to slaughter, chained for a petty familial disagreement, trivializing the deaths of your people, and proving that all gods were inherently false idols as they were made through crowns and not born, and you have to separate your feelings for your god from the pedestal you put him on, and reassess what it actually means to kill a god. But figure it out quick because you’ll have to lay your life down for that god soon to set him free ❤️

To celebrate my first follower, a brief musing on how my interactions with online spaces has changed since transitioning. Namely, I actually post.

Web 2.0 wasn't something that I engaged with. When I was a teen in the early 2000's I was active in forums, posted regularly and the like. But when the main spaces moved to Reddit/Tumblr/Twitter/Facebook, I didn't engage the same way. The only platform I did anything on was reddit, and I think I got maybe 500 karma across a decade? I just lurked, constantly.

And yeah in hindsight the timeline of online interaction being done on social media lined up perfectly with when my disphoria set in. But I never questioned that, even after transitioning. But a while back, my husband started sending me more and more stuff from Tumblr. I quickly got tired of losing links to fun things he sent me in the nightmare that is my bookmarks, and made an account. Eventually decided I might as well start reblogging.

But when I hit reblog, I stopped. Because it gave me the choice to add to the post, and to add tags. And because of how I've come to view the overall Tumblr community mentality towards community engagement (this would have made way more sense if I had posted it after another thing I want to write, about how online communities create semi-unwritten rules that function as defacto stand in's for ethical codes in semi-unmoderated spaces), I didn't want to add nothing - so I decided that even if I don't have anything to add, I would say that. Not because I think it adds anything, but because I realized I actually wanted to explain my thoughts.

Which given this isn't exactly a short post, and (as I have previously mentioned at least once, and will countless additional times in the future) with a philosophy background, isn't exactly shocking I know! But for the last 15 years, my online footprint has been as close to 0 as I could make it. I didn't really get why, what felt like so suddenly, that had changed. I guess it's a combination of a new (ish, to me) platform + screen name + finally being more able to be myself?

Anyway I actually figured out how to post. Tumblr's mobile interface is garbage and I refuse to install apps unless I really have to.

i don't want to discredit the work that writers do, especially in laying the groundwork for a character like homelander and crafting a compelling arc for him with every new season. and i'm sure they were very involved in the making of ep 4 as well, despite kripke generously giving credit where it's due here. however...

it is nice to know that antony starr has not only elevated the character with a superb performance but also made some pretty valuable contributions to the script :) obviously i'm biased but i think he is the standout of every episode. i'm throwing emmys at him

ok many of us have heard that news that Supernatural actors DJ Qualls aka Garth and Ty Olsson aka Benny are getting gay married.

I listened to most of the podcast episode to verify — and yeah! they're full on getting married, planning to grow old together, etc. etc. however — the wild supernatural lore doesn't stop there.

ty and dj first met at a supernatural convention in the UK. they got close when they went on vacation to turkey together after maybe having spoken like 5 times.

there is in fact a big supernatural cast group chat

dj hasn't watched supernatural. "[supernatural] is a tv show I don't watch, i'm not a fan of, because I know everyone on it" and "the last thing i want to do is watch them play pretend in my spare time"

Party On Garth is his favorite episode because he got to drink / pretend to be drunk.

dj initially wasn't going to take the supernatural role. the producers sent him a script and a few episodes to convince him. his first impression of supernatural was, "it's two underwear models chasing monsters?"

dj got beat up really badly by a cop when he was in Vancouver for his first supernatural shoot. Someone else had to explain to the cops that he literally hadn't even done anything before they released him with no charges.

other than that the most memorable thing about his first supernatural shoots was the catering. "the best sandwiches I've ever had" and "they had two kinds of soup. I love soups."
