His face is a bit sad. Why is so sad to see the woman he started to fall in love with? It’s simple:

Luke almost hurt Ben when he felt darkness. He wanted to hurt what he didn’t get. So when he felt that in Rey, when he saw Rey doing something that he didn’t like (holding Ben’s hand) Ben was scared he was gonna try to hurt her. He’s very focused, he’s making sure she’s okay. I don’t even know if he’s doing it on purpose, I just know he must’ve been scared for her when Luke caught them.

As many have said, his hand is still out. That’s not to say he thinks Rey is a helpless weaning, he knows she can kick ass hence why he doesn’t have a more aggressive reaction, but he at the mindset of “if he was willing to kill me, imagine what he’ll do for her”

Oh! Fic where Ben does actually make contact with his grandfather's ghost/spirit/whatever and instead of getting like, a pat on the shoulder, praise for following his steps, etc. He just gets this war worn guy, much too young to be a widowed father let alone a grandfather, who basically scrooges him into changing his goals

On deeper analysis, I realize that that particular line in the tros novel, talking about gratitude and *cough* its various expressions, is just Ben Solo's last brain cell being an overly dramatic emo simp boy gaslighting himself because he still needs direct verbal affirmation of people's affections for him

When will star wars give us a comic following Ben Solo and Tai on a mission for Luke

Exploring their Force bond, perhaps even the creation of it. Dealing with whatever enemy of the moment is created for the comic, showing their friendship with the strong hints of something much, much deeper going on.

Maybe Ben almost opens up to Tai about Snoke and the dark. Maybe something happens right at that moment interrupting the conversation. Maybe he shrugs off Tai's attempts at returning to the topic afterwards, now embarrassed and unsure how to broach the subject.

They save each other's lives. Perhaps Ben saves Tai physically, but Tai being there for Ben helps his mental health in such a meaningful way the comic might struggle to fully get across.

And when they return to Luke's school, they are that much closer that Luke even side eyes them, unsure of this now tangible Force Bond between them, no idea how to proceed. The Jedi Creed says no attachments, but he can see how much healthier his nephew seems with this development.

Playing with Soldier boys hair headcanons?

Oooh good one, because I have thoughts and feelings about this. 😂

Pairing: Soldier Boy x Reader Word Count: 300

Headcanon: Playing with Soldier Boy's hair.

You can't help it. You love playing with Ben's hair, as much as he lets you.

Which is often, because he secretly loves it.

Even if he won't admit it, Ben sometimes craves the feeling of your fingers running through his hair. In his defense, you have gentle hands.

For you, it's because his hair is soft, and all too "sweepable," and you often brush the strands away from his eyes.

Especially during lazy moments lying in bed, or canoodled on the couch, or even during more intimate moments.

During sex, the brush of your hand through his hair is a simple thing that sometimes draws his eyes to your face, or secretly has him reveling in your softer touch. It's a contrast to his roughness, and sometimes reminds him to be a bit more gentle.

Other times, you'll lay against his chest, letting the rise and fall of his breath move you. And you'll unconsciously reach up to toy with the soft ends of his hair.

Or he'll occasionally allow himself to lay in your lap while you have your way.

For Ben, he's at his most relaxed when he feels the gentle sweep of your fingers -- in his hair, massaging his head, stroking his face or his neck.

It's gotten to the point where you do it almost absently, out of habit.

Sometimes he even falls asleep at your ministrations.

But he's also very aware of your touch. In general, he's all too self-aware when it comes to people touching him, drawing within his personal space. (A consequence of his time in Russia, though he doesn't acknowledge it.)

You don't even realize this, but you're helping him just with your calming touch. It comforts both of you, if in different ways.

Still, it's a small thing that connects you and Ben on a deeper level of intimacy, greater than either of you realize.

the pastas if they had a normal life

BEN- Gamer boy who lives in his parent's basement. You saw it coming. Ben would literally spend his days living off energy drinks and chips. Brags about his game collection even though he doesn’t have a job. He doesn’t care that he doesn’t have a job, but he should.

Jeff- He never moved on from the emo renaissance. He has posters of MCR and other emo bands up on his walls. They’re chipped and wilted, but he’ll be dead before they get taken down. Definitely uses a pair of broken wired earphones because he thinks he’s too cool for AirPods.

Eyeless Jack-Jack would be the most pretentious male manipulator sorry. Donna Tartt would have a field day with him. He exclusively only listens to music from the 80s and mansplains everything. He is intelligent though, and he dresses immaculately. 

Toby- That friend who has never been calm in their life. One second he’s at home, then the next he’s in Portugal on a solo holiday. Should not be allowed a bank account. Always the life of the party. People wonder how he’s still alive. 

Helen- Weird art kid. Spends all of his time in his room, either playing piano or painting. He thinks he’s destined to be the next Picasso. Has good grades and big dreams, but no friends to tell them to. 

Liu- Probably the most normal. Good grades, decent social life. He’s not popular, but he’s not a loner. Kind of mainstream. Always drinking coffee, probably works like two jobs. Has connections everywhere. 

Jane- She walks down the street and like 90% of heads turn to look at her. Quiet, but not shy. Has a small group of friends, but feels like none of them know her. Probably has a glass of red wine every Saturday night. Has a cat. 

Nina- The town's bravest girl solely because she’s single-handedly bringing back scene-core. Doesn’t care that people give her weird looks on public transport. Makes kandi bracelets and gives them out to strangers. Literally SO sweet and for what. 

Clockwork- No one wants to get on her bad side. She has like two friends but she loves them with all her heart. Doesn’t give a fuck about grades. She probably works out a lot but never drinks water. Lives alone.

I thought it would be cool to see a Ben Solo Akira slide, but since the Akira slide has been parodied to death (including by Obi-Wan Kenobi himself in Tartakovsky Clone Wars) I changed the angle a bit to be less redundant.

Also for some reason I felt the need to make my life really difficult by trying to design a new speeder bike??? Which foolishly seemed necessary to me because I wanted to align it more with the cyberpunk anime look. And then I just had to keep going and give him a helmet and facial injuries for my own amusement.

Since this sort of started out as a biker gang AU, it really should have aesthetically been Kylo and the Knights of Ren, but that went right out the window because I'm incessantly compelled to dress him in blue.

The design on his helmet is a zoomed-in portion of the symbol from Anakin's podracer and racing flag (grandpa's #1 fanboy). I was initially messing around with placing it in full but thought it looked too busy. I do kind of wish I had figured out a way to keep more of it, because after I drew it I realized it looks like a blue butterfly?!?

ben solo is really such a masterpiece of a character…the only child of the skywalker lineage, raised by the greatest heroes in the galaxy, but still so lonely in his childhood because of his parents’ fame and their disapproval of his strong emotions. he feels isolated from his family because they’re all so good and he can’t live up to them. he’s so angry and passionate and human in the face of his larger-than-life role models.

then he finds out from a newsreel that the most angry, passionate, powerful Force-user in history is his grandfather, and it all makes sense. his parents were afraid he’d realize where those traits came from and justify them via connection to his grandfather, and he does. he clings to every bit of information he can find because he does have a family member like him, he’s not a lone hurricane in an ocean of peaceful warriors, but his family made him feel that way for years. so palpatine seizes his opportunity: he speaks as “vader”, playing into ben’s perception of his grandfather’s darkness and manipulating him into following the same path, and it works (for a while).

but goddamn if anakin skywalker is going to let his only grandchild’s life be destroyed like his was. he saved his son for a reason, dammit! so he fights right back against palpatine’s “vader” and relentlessly pulls his stubborn idiot of a grandson who is so much like him back towards the light. but he can’t do it alone and the Force knows this, so it does a favor for the Chosen One and creates the first dyad in generations between ben and rey. between a boy whose family ostracized him and a girl whose family abandoned her.

ben feels it the first time he meets her: the power, the connection, and he thinks he’s finally found his own apprentice. so he tries and fights and kills his own master to protect her, but he’s skywalker stubborn and can’t just let go of everything he’s done as kylo ren. can’t go back to being ben, the unwanted nuisance who felt too much and knew too little. but then she rejects his hand as kylo and says she wants ben. she wants the lonely, angry, passionate boy who laughed and cried, smiled and scowled, loved and hated, and that boy wants her too. but that boy is still guilty and haunted and has spent so much of his life (as kylo and ben) being told he’s not good enough, but she makes him want to believe that he is.

but then she dies, and the Force goes so quiet that ben wonders if he’s lost his connection to it altogether. he holds her and spirals because she was good enough and he couldn’t save her but then he realizes she’s not gone yet and he can save her, he can finish what his grandfather truly started and save the woman he loves, but it can’t be for himself. he saves her selflessly and smiles even as he feels the Force leave him because he did it. ben solo’s first and last act without palpatine swaying his mind is to sacrifice himself for rey because he knows she’s better than him, that she’ll do more good in the galaxy to undo all the bad he did as kylo.

just. something about a boy who didn’t even know the full skywalker lineage fulfilling the wish that started it all. something about a boy who never lived up to expectations independently performing the greatest act of powerful selflessness in generations.

I love Oshamir, but it rubs me the wrong way that they're speculated to be a Force Dyad, while it's very much obvious imho that if there's a Force Dyad in the The Acolyte, it's Osha and Mae.

Osha starts getting her connection to the Force back when she starts having visions and hears the voice of Mae through the Force. And she keeps getting stronger after she crosses path with Mae again. It also happens simultaneously when she crosses paths with Qimir/The Stranger, yeah, and it's very likely that he encourages the connection between Osha and Mae (a bit like Snoke manipulated the connection between Rey and Kylo in The Last Jedi)....

And if it's not an enough convincing argument, there's the fact that Sol reveals that they're not biological twins. They're not even sisters, yet they look exactly the same and share this incredible connection since they were born. In the junior edition of The Rise of Skywalker, Leia thought that Rey and Ben Solo were like "twins in the Force", which is exactly what Osha and Mae are...

Also, the song "The power of two" was clearly written in reference to Osha and Mae:

Osha and Mae were created artificially, maybe in an attempt to create a Force Dyad similar to what Rey and Ben would be centuries later. I'm certain that the Stranger will have a significant importance for Osha and I even hope that he'll be much more than a teacher to her (I want my Sith power couple!!). But I also think The Acolyte is primarly Osha and Mae's story. Maybe the Stranger will come to realize that he needs them both on his sides, that he can't get the power of two with Osha because she's already bounded through the Force to her twin. And I really don't see why he and Osha would be a Force Dyad while Mae is right here...

Epel Facts Part 17: Epel and Pomefiore (pt1)

Epel has many lines about how he would rather be in Savanaclaw, “where all the rough and tough guys are,” telling Vil directly that he never wanted to be in Pomefiore to start with. 

This seems to be well known at the school, with Floyd making Epel select a different dorm than Savanaclaw during his birthday interview for being too predictable.

Epel also tells Trey that he is jealous of his build, as everyone in Savanaclaw is tough and cool and Trey would probably look great in their uniform.

On his first night at NRC Epel tells Rook that him being in Pomefiore must have have ben a mistake, but Rook insists that Epel’s soul was made for Pomefiore.

Epel says that the things Rook says barely make sense to him despite how he, too, is in Pomefiore. 

When Ace says that Pomefiore guys are all weirdos Epel respond, “All? Let’s take it easy now,” but he also has a line about most of the upperclassmen of his dorm being weird.

Epel says that Ramshackle dorm seems great as the prefect gets to fly solo and be totally free.

We get a few glimpses into life at Pomefiore through Epel who says they must go to bed at 10pm, and the whole dorm has to practice runway walking.

Epel says that one might think that everyone in Pomefiore is incredibly vain, “but it’s not like that at all. The housewarden’s…special.”

Epel is also displeased with Pomefiore’s emphasis on manners, as he came to NRC “to become a strong, cool mage. But not the dorm I’m in is full of pushy people who only care about appearances. They’re gonna make me into the exact opposite of the man I want to be!”

Epel is very big on revitalizing his hometown, and one of his goals to accomplish this is doing more chemistry studies at the school.

He makes the connection between the future of his village and Pomefiore in a vignette, saying, “If I hadn’t joined Pomefiore, I might never have taken an interest in potionology.” 

Epel explains that he does respect the Fairest Queen, but he has trouble with how Pomefiore places emphasis on speech, manners, eating balanced meals, wearing a flowy uniform and following hair and skincare routines.

“But despite all that, being in Pomefiore has helped me learn a lot more about chemistry…So if I focus on studying chemistry more, maybe I could learn to brew potions that prevent tree blight or attract honeybees. If I could pull that off, it’d make life easier for everyone in town, and it’d help Harveston grow. Now that I’ve figured out my goal, I’ve start to feel okay with Pomefiore in general. But I still wanna be in Savanaclaw!”

You give Ben comfort after a night terror.

A shake.

A stretch of breath.

A sudden, sharp jolt.

“Ben?”

Twisting in the bedsheets, you reach out to find him in the dark. His answer is a pained whimper, more wounded animal than human sob. It’s heartbreaking, a cold wrench beneath your ribs.

Ben hasn’t had an episode in some weeks. He seemed to be getting better. But you always know what to do. It is embedded within you, but it all depends on what Ben is experiencing.

His upper body jerks suddenly, more of a thrash than a sudden burst of movement.

Space. This requires space.

Your hand hovers nearby but does not make contact. The signs to engage with him are not there, and you know from past experiences how volatile these episodes can be. The dark side still clings to him when it can, festering when his walls are down and he is unable to completely defend himself.

Letting it run its course is all you can do until he starts to calm. Only then can you truly lend your support. There have been one too many times in the past when you tried to console him while in the midst of his thrashing, and Ben lashed out without knowing he’d done so. You never told him about those times, because you know how’d awful he’d feel upon learning that he might have hurt you.

As the gnarled whimpering eases, and Ben’s body begins to soften, you gently rest your hand on his upper arm. Squeezing lightly is your way of silently telling him that you’re here with him. That everything is all right.

Ben’s breathing evens out, and you quietly turn over in the bed, lifting the sheets enough to curl up behind him. You mold your body to his, resting your forehead against his back, your arm draping over his side to slide upward and press against his chest.

Through the Force, you sense an overwhelming sense of calm radiating from Ben, a gentle river in a green forest. You tap into it, and by connecting with it, you connect with him. You hear his heartbeat and how it adapts to your own. The two becoming one.

Sleep comes quickly, and it isn’t until the gentle light of morning that you’re shifted around, strong arms wrapping around you to pull you in.

“Ben,” you giggle, as his lips find the underside of your jaw and travel down your neck. You playfully push at him even as Ben pushes you deeper into the bed, tangling the both of you further around the sheets.

When you manage to snag yourself from his grasp for a moment, you find him smiling, the stretch of his lips tugging toward his ears. He is so bright and handsome in the morning light that shines in from a crack in the curtains. Waves crashing against rock reach your ears, and you sigh heavily, matching his smile.

Ben’s gaze roams over your face as the tips of his fingers brush across the curve of your jaw. As he watches, his smile softens.

“I had another last night, didn’t I?” he asks softly, already knowing the answer.

“You did,” you reply.

Ben visibly swallows, licks his lips, the scar across his face stretching slightly with the movement. “I felt…you. Afterward. I don’t remember anything. Just—just you. And the peace.”

You snuggle in closer until your chin almost rests against his chest. “How do you feel now?”

Ben tips his head forward and places a chaste kiss to the top of your head. “Grateful,” he finally says.

“How so?”

Ben shifts his body back a bit so he can gaze at you from behind his dark lashes. “Without you, I’d simply be existing in a galaxy that doesn’t want me. But with you, I have someone.”

You shake your head. “There are people out there that still care about you, Ben.”

“No,” he says. “Not like you do.”

Ben’s dark locks fall around his face as he closes the distance. This kiss is not chaste. It is sweet and passionate and warms you everywhere. When he breaks away, you don’t want him to leave.

“I love you,” he whispers, before settling in the bed, drawing you to him.

You allow him this, pulling you in for a just a bit longer before the two of you have to answer the day.
