"Rachel Berry was the worst character on Glee!!" really?? really and truly?? I need you to be more sensitive, here. Finn Hudson was there too. don't take that away from him. he has nothing else.
Rewatching Glee makes me realize how hateable Rachel Berry truly is, as well as Finn.
If I could rate all the characters (from the first three seasons cause only they matter) I hate from the most to the least, it'd look like this,
1) Rachel Berry, a loud mouth, obnoxious, overpreformer who assumes she's the best.
2) Finn Hudson, told Quinn's parents she was pregnant and got her kicked out, also outed Santana and got her kicked out as well, and is dating an unbearable troll.
3) Blaine Anderson, plays the victim card too much, made Kurt seem like the bad guy.
4) Quinn Fabray, a little more likable but plays the victim card as well, literally tried to get Shelby fired and have her baby taken away.
5) Artie Abrams, he's okay, sometimes just a little too much
6) Kurt Hummel, he's chill, but can have his moments.
7) Tina Cohen-Chang, I actually love her, but points taken off for the first season weirdness
8) Santana Lopez, she's a little bit of a bitch, but some of what she does is reasonable ig
9) Sam Evans, I love me some white chocolate, but fr, Sam is cool, he usually tries to look out for everyone the same way he wants to be looked out for.
10) Mike Chang, badass dance moves, and overcame his own fears of his family to do what he loves.
11) Mercedes Jones, I understand the whole debacle with Rachel Berry and I applaud her for that.
11) BRITTANY S. PIERCE, my angel baby, I love her sm and she's so smart and kind and is genuinely incredible, she's always been thought as less than or stupid just because she thought outside the box.
I’m not kidding when I say I’d sell my soul to have Franco and Gabriel in f1 at the same time. The timing is horrible like wdym there is only ONE seat available??
i will never understand how so many people think santana auditioned for rachel's understudy out of spite or malice. at that point in the show they are friends, santana has shown she cares about rach and vice versa. the opening scene to that episode is san acknowledging her behaviour towards rach in high school and rach forgiving her. then rach is encouraging to santana and says that one day she'll be the one on top.
rachel tells kurtana about how stressed she is about auditioning her understudy and asks for their support. it's pretty obvious that santana gets the idea there and then. she knows that rach doesn't want an understudy but she has to have one, so doesn't it makes sense to have it be a person she already knows and is friends with? obviously san is also looking for her place so it's two birds one stone in her mind. i get a high exposure job in the industry and rach doesn't have to worry about working closely with some rando.
her greatest misstep is not telling rachel prior but she gets the idea just as rach closes the door behind her in a rush. she didn't have time to tell her when she also only has like an hour to memorise the song and prepare.
the reason she mimics rach's sectionals performance is out of admiration. it's so obvious just by the look on her face and her mannerisms. to san she is paying tribute to her friend who she believes will like the idea. santana isn't smirking or bitchy, she's literally ecstatic and smiling the entire performance.
santana has said a lot of mean things to rach but she's never said she isn't talented, that is the one thing about rach that she always admired.
at this point in the show santana hasn't been the antagonist for like three seasons. she's no longer the one to tear rachel down, she just makes jokes and gives reality checks. all of her interactions with berry have been her trying to help and support her.
santana wasn't auditioning out of spite and whenever I see someone say that I know that they haven't paid attention to half of the show.
“Okay, look, guys, I know it's untraditional, but you have to trust me. I was there at Callbacks. I saw it all, a vision of perfect clarity. Every seat was occupied. A quiet hush fell over the expectant crowd. As Pamela Lansbury made their way to the stage, and the opening notes of Madonna's 1985 single hit "Into the Groove" begin.”
i used to sing every single day of my life growing up. did choir for almost a decade, was top-rated in my district AND state, and took singing sooooo fucking seriously as a teen....then depression + stress + living in dorms/with roommates/apartments with thin walls made me stop singing for like six years. but since we moved to this house last year I've been singing every day, while I do chores, while I relax, while I cook, while I work. I'm singing all the fucking time again. I belt my heart out in the shower, my kid and I put on records and dance and sing, and after a year of this my voice sounds so much better in a technical sense yes but also I sound HAPPY. even when I'm singing sad-ass songs there is joy in me, I find catharsis in them, even just humming over an instrumental track is meditative now. I'm singing again and it's joyous.
