The Forgotten One Chapter Ten: Love that Grows

A/n: The grand finale!! Thank you all so much for reading, commenting, reblogging and liking. This story had been so much fun to write but to share it with you all has been even better. Enjoy this final chapter and let me know your thoughts! As always, I love you all…you make my heart smile.

When you woke up, everything was white and smelled sterile. It was a real deja vu moment…you were in the hospital. You tried to stretch but the IV in your arm kind of restricted your desired movements. Cleo was in the chair next to your bed, typing away on her laptop until she heard your not-so-subtle movements.

“Well hey, sleepyhead. Top of the morning.” She tips her nonexistent cap at you. “Before you ask, I’ll just give you the rundown. You fainted from being overwhelmed and dehydrated so they gave you an IV but other than that you’re fine.”

“And where—where’s”

“Jack?” She finishes for you. “He drove you here and stayed with you until they told him that you were absolutely fine…repeatedly. But he had a meeting with some people that flew in from Europe so I forced him to leave.

You smiled to yourself at the thought of him being physically pushed out of the room because he wanted to stay with you. And then you were hit with the reality of what happened last night and you suddenly really needed to be at home.

“C, you have to get me out of here. There’s something I have to do. It’s really important.”

You spent the rest of the day going through your laptop, rehashing all of your memories and somewhat laughing at yourself at the thought of everything that happened the last few months. Some of it felt like a movie, a super dramatic Lifetime special, the ones that usually ended in someone getting murdered. You thought about Ben and Quinn and how a very small, but maybe big part of you still wanted revenge, even though the only real crime committed was lying and people got away with much worse every single day. The thought of having to put you and Jack through that entire ordeal seemed like a waste of time and the best course of action really was just putting it all behind you and looking into the future.

Every page of your computer diary was printed out, and you condensed them as you started writing. By the time you looked up from your task, it was dark outside and you needed to head to Churchill Downs, silently praying that Jack would still be in his office. You met Sadie on the elevator and she willingly helped you with your plan which was probably the most shocking thing to happen to you this year.

She knocked on Jack’s office door and handed him a letter, “this is for you, and so are all of those.” Sadie nodded to the trail of papers leading to the elevator with a bright smile on her face. “Good night Mr. Harlow, enjoy your night.”

“Thank—thank you Sadie. You um, have a good night.”

He read over the first note a hundred times before moving on to the next one.

Jack, I remember waking up…on our fourth anniversary and having you beg me not to go to work. The day was long and I couldn’t focus on anything but seeing you. I’m so glad that your face was the last thing I saw that day.

He would never ever forget that day. Everything started off so perfect and it turned into the worst moments of his entire existence. His worst fears had come true and there were so many times that he relived it, thinking he was alone. But you were starting to remember. He took a deep breath and picked up the next note.

I remember the look of pure joy on your face when I opened my eyes, like when you get the gift you’ve written on every wishlist for Christmas and I just made all your dreams come true. Little did I know that you were actually mine.

If there was one thing that had remained constant throughout all of this, was the fact that he would always be yours. Even when you begged him to forget it ever happened…part of him was always going to belong to you.

I remember the many nights we spent opening up about our daily struggles, simply putting one foot in front of the other and hoping that one day life would just go back to normal. But even when things were hard and the days were dark, you still managed to bring so much light into my life.

There was one night, after you’d moved out that he called at 4am. You were half asleep and disoriented but immediately woke up at the sound of his shaky voice. You ended up watching an entire season of Never Have I Ever on Teleparty. Jack wished that night had lasted forever.

I remember being a blank page, that you filled with so many happy memories that I wasn’t ready for. But you never gave up on me, you just loved me through it.

The first time he saw you, he was awestruck. On your first date, he knew he’d fall in love. The first time he told you he loved you, he envisioned spending the rest of his life with you. When I asked Cleo to help me design the perfect ring, he continued the many ideas in his head and the endless possibilities that the two of you would explore together. And then the unthinkable happened and he had no idea what to do and the odds were pretty stacked against him when he found out you had lost the entirety of the relationship you had. But losing your memory doesn’t mean the love that you shared was lost, and if he could just love you hard enough…you both would be just fine. Maybe even more than fine.

I remember our not so happy days too. The ones where we yelled at each other and left in tears. But the bad days, the sad ones just make the good moments that much more enjoyable. I want all my moments with you, the good ones, the bad ones and everything in between.

He thought that those days would break him. But then his mom gave him a reality check and gave him a new sense of hope. And that was enough to keep him going. Love doesn’t just fall out of the sky, it takes work. And he only wanted to do that work if it was with you.

Jack’s grin took over every muscle of his face as he happily trotted to the elevator and hit the button on the 13th floor, immediately met with another note on the ground.

I remember running away, looking for solace in something—someone that seemed to make life so simple. I’ve now come to realize that I don’t want simple. And I damn sure don’t want to spend the rest of my life looking for pieces of you in every man that I meet for all of eternity.

The thought of you, walking around hopelessly looking for someone that could take his place and being wildly unsuccessful admittedly stroked his ego a bit, but confirmed his fleeting belief that you could eventually find your way back to each other.

I remember finding myself on this wild goose chase trying to prove your innocence because deep down, I knew you’d never do anything to hurt me. No matter what we’d been through. So I dug deep to find out what really happened.

Quinn. The night that he met her haunted him for months. How could he ever betray you like that and be so careless? Had he really let it get that far? And when he found out that Quinn was pregnant it was like another gut punch. Everywhere he looked, there was another obstacle, another sign from the universe that maybe things wouldn’t work out in his favor. And just when he thought you’d fully given up, there was still a fire within you that burned only for him.

I remember shutting off my brain and some of my memories came flooding back with a rush. It was overwhelming and concerning and…fucking electrifying. Seeing almost the entirety of this beautiful life we shared and knowing that there was so much more life to live—and there’s nothing more that I want than to live it with you.

The closer he got to your office, which is where he knew he’d end up, the more nervous he got. And the more excited. And hopeful. And his body couldn’t move fast enough to get to you.

There are so many things that I should’ve told you. So many apologies to give and so little time to give them. But I’m willing to try.

“Any road—all the roads I take lead me back to you eventually.” You begin, as he appeared in front of you and stood in the doorway. Quickly closing the distance between you, you stared into his blue eyes, twirling a few curly strands of his hair in between your fingers. “No matter how many detours or accidents happened on that road, I found my way back. And I hope I always will. Because you are my final destination and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You’re it for me too.”

“Jack, I love you so much it hurts. It creates an actual ache in my bones and makes me do things I never thought I would do like a super cheesy love note trail across floors. You’re everything I could ever want and I—”

“I love you too. Always have, always will.” Jack whispers, leaning in to kiss your cheek. You pulled him down to your level as your lips connected and he cupped your face.

There it was. The fireworks, the butterflies, the—everything. And Jack had told you that a true love’s kiss wouldn’t magically fix everything. Good thing you had the rest of your life to prove him wrong.

LAWS OF ATTRACTION my Wishlist

Somehow this show has grabbed me by the satin collar and stripy tie, and I found myself wishing for some strange things to happen. So naturally, I turn to Tumblr to write it down and send it on my special krathong hoping it will come true...

I do not remember the last time I wanted a main couple to fuck about it this much. They are Hurting me with the looks and the flirting.

I want Charn to break Jeng-style, but about his past and mother and I want Tinn to hold him gently and kiss his tears.

I want a big-ass confession from Thaentai to his bodyguard Thee. I want him embarrassed and giggling like a little girl (don't ask me why, I don't make the rules).

I half wish their neighbors had something to do with Thatthep finding out his son was framed for the fire.

I want to see Charn and Tinn switch wardrobes, but have them both wear All Stars.

I want grandma to walk in on them when they kiss for the first time and immediately start to plan their wedding.

I think that's it for now. I reserve the right to update this list according to my varying levels of unhealthy & unpredictable lack of normalcy I'm apparently experiencing about this show.

*side note - watching LOA and To Sir With Love simultaneously is quite the experience. I will be screaming about this in @rocketturtle4's dms, but I will gladly talk this out with anyone currently watching TSWL. @thegalwhorants bestie, have you watched it yet?

Incomings, WiPs and Doll Plans Update!

Here it is... I made up my mind regarding some plans, some current dolls, I got updates in for almost all my Incomings and ... well let's start. (What will happen with my Past!Allen Doll ... if you are curious ... scroll to the end).

First of all, I can announce the newest additions:

Asleep Eidolon Klaus will be Lavi's new shell. I am set on this idea, the head is super close to what I originally wanted for him and I feel better with this decision already.

As AE has an event ongoing in which you can add a head to your order ... Asleep Eidolon DingDang was on the list to be my choice for Johnny! I'm excited to build up the range of supporting characters.

Along with that I have new plans what resin will come in the next months...

Of course Johnny needs a body, for now I have my eyes set on the V1 from Fatemoons as it's a rather small MSD body and Johnny is smaller than Allen.

Then I fell for Xagadoll Nicole and Xagadoll Luca (both MSD variants) ... I will yet keep for myself for which characters I want to have them in case I change my mind. But I very rarely saw a doll and was "Okay, YOU ARE MOVING IN" within seconds in the last months, so I will take this motivation. Kinda feels nice to have someone on my wishlist again.

Level 4 & Ling Tai Zhu Hong (Lavi's old Shell)

Level 4's head has arrived and the body was ordered, I decided for Coral Reef and here is the other announcement... I will keep Lavi's former shell. And will try my hands on it to turn it into a Level 3 Akuma. I know this is a quite insane project but building an Armor for a doll is a challenge that is not only sewing and I will gladly take it. I was pondering around how to make a Level 3 doll or sculpture anyways. I have to come up with a design for the Akuma though and I will keep the Doll as Lavi until his new shell is here & done so far.

Maple & Janet - LenaRuiiz Pallu

Maple got her body in, working on her is pushed back though as Kanda had priority and next I want to start on the biggest Cosplay Project I have left, but when that is roughly done I will see when I can fit her in. It's possible that I push her back even further as I want to redo Lenalee's uniform badly and there is another doll in progress... I will come to that in the last part.

Then Janet... long story short, the current Pallu batch is stuck in the mail since November and Lena now have her casted again, I am not even sure if I am in that batch (but as I paid her off I might be?) so, she will maybe happen this year, we will see.

Ally (Past!Allen) & Adam - Conarium Wuhan

You maybe have read my former entries about this certain character and the dilemma I am in right now. To be honest he is my absolute favorite doll because of the fanfic I am writing, and still working on DAILY(!). Being crushed by the fact this character basically doesn't exist was hard. Well, there is a past version of Allen but he looks completely different (and there is too much open about him so I will refer from making the "new" Past!Allen into a doll or plan anything regarding that as I have some doubts, I have to wait until details are clearer).

I have Allen from that AU as doll. I have the Millennium Earl (healed) variant from that AU as Progress doll and I still love the character...

so I will - for now - keep him as my AU Variant, he is now more OC than a true character from the series but I just love him too much as character to scrap him.

For the Earl/Adam (aka healed Mana), I got the head last year and ordered the body in November. I have asked Stacy yesterday if there is an update and Conarium just got back to her and the body will shipped next week.

So for now after the cosplay (or maybe inbetween) Adam will get priority in doll regards as I want my AU Family to be complete as soon as possible.

I guess it's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder, because I was honestly prepared to completely dislike Crosshair and settle in to him being a villain, but then we have seen so little of him that I was getting antsy like, "Where is he?! What's he doing?! What's he thinking?! I need to know!" And then I squealed with delight when the episode started with him.

Yay new named clone boys!!! (They are just resting safely. They are perfectly fine.) Mayday has a fuckin presence, no? (*swoons a little*) Maybe just a personal preference, but I am digging all the bearded boys. Yes. Good.

*Crosshair realizing maybe this is why people don't like him and that maybe his batch were a lot more tolerant of his behavior than most and maybe he took that for granted, and he is desperately lonely and seeking connection and has finally realized that he is the one pushing everyone away. 😭😭😭

Oh hey, the huddling for warmth trope, that's usually used for like, romantic confession- Oh, my god I'm dying, my heart. The absolute tenderness. This may be the best huddling for warmth scene I've ever seen. Good job animators! I'm just -

Mayday protected Crosshair and treated him as a brother even though Crosshair was prickly, just like Cody did, and he's finally got it through his thick head that he doesn't belong with the empire, he belongs to the empire - he's just equipment to them - and that belonging with his brothers who actually care about him is worth so much more than than any false sense of grand purpose the empire might temporarily give him. Personal connection will always trump ideaogical bullshit.

And I suspect the thing about Crosshair is that once he commits to something, he's committed. That's it. Now that he knows the truth in his heart, nothing will stop him from acting on it. So he doesn't go subtle, like Cody slipping out in the night. He goes out guns blazing, killing that worthless empire motherfucker, because that's The Bad "when have we ever cared about orders? Batch Way.

That was so satisfying.

I am also glad we are going to pretty much immediately get back to whatever the heck is going on at Mount Tantis. Hemlock is creepy af, I love it. I really want to know what they plan to do to Crosshair tho???? They don't need him to make more clones, they're phasing them out, so what, clones are just convenient for shits-and-giggles experimentation? Like, they've got cloning down. And yeah, we know from Mandalorian/sequels Palps is trying to do Force sensitive cloning, but they don't need Crosshair for that, unless they've already got force sensitive dna and they're gonna shoot it into him to see what happens??? I somehow doubt that they'd risk a force sensitive supersoldier though, so I bet it's something else.

Predictions/wishlist for the rest of the season: I'm guessing Omega will get captured soon and then Crosshair will be like, "okay, let's bust out of this joint baby sis!" And Taun We will probably get killed helping them escape, then the Batch and Rex and Echo and Gregor will arrive, and I hope Omega (and Wrecker and Tech) will be like, "We can't leave the Zillow Beast! It's just a baby! The last of it's kind! Treated awfully just like us! (Big tooka eyes)" and Hunter will be like, "okay fine, we can rescue the beast." And Crosshair and Echo and Rex especially will be like, "wtf, force preserve us Hunter, you can't be serious right now - she makes big tooka eyes once and you do whatever she wants?!?!?! (Because Rex and Echo have experience denying Ahsoka's cuteness, so they have learned already that no good comes from indulging the chaos babies.) And then Omega and Crosshair befriend and get to ride the Zillow beast while it squashes all the imps as it escapes and then they find a nice uninhabited planet to drop it off, and the Batch is reunited and we get a happy ending of the season (and after credits hemlock escapes to be creepy again later, obv).

TL;DR

Inias is one of the youngest angels that God created and is in Castiel's garrison. Never fond of the destruction being a loyal angel sometimes entailed, many of his siblings believed him to be too weak. Still, Inias was loyal and always did what he was told. After the Winchesters thwarted the plan for the apocalypse, Inias was at a loss of what to do with himself without any direct orders. He was uninterested in participating in Raphael's destructive ways. When much of the angel garrison was destroyed by Castiel, he still valued his brother from all the time they had spent together. After he nearly was killed by a Leviathan while protecting the prophet and the fall of the angels due to Metatron, Inias settled onto a farm in Sonoma, California. He was done with the death and destruction now so intimately tied with Heaven.

FULL BIO

Inias is a peaceful, low-ranking angel of the lord. He was one of the youngest angels to be created by God, which allowed him a lot of time to learn under his siblings. A member of the same garrison as Castiel, Inias quickly grew fond of him. He tended to shy away from any of the archangels, their power and personalities could be rather intimidating. From the moment he came into existence, he knew that remaining loyal to God's wishes was of utmost importance. When Lucifer was cast out of Heaven due to his insubordination, it was enough to intimidate Inias to continue on his straight and narrow path, not that he even had any intention of deviation int he first place. While other siblings rebelled as well and some had nephilim, an abomination crossbreed between the angels and humans, Inias continued with whatever orders were passed his way.

The violence that started to rear its head often in the workings of Heaven not much later never sat well with him. The angels were responsible for keeping the universe balanced with the monsters that Lucifer and Eve had created and the humans that had turned evil themselves. Inias hated it and wished for the vision that his father had once had for Earth, idyllic and peaceful, but also understood the betrayal of Lucifer and humanity had broken something in his father. Much like Castiel, however, his memories of these dark times were often erased by Naomi and the others. After a while, he found a few pockets of people’s personal Heavens to spend time in. Whenever he could, he reveled in the peaceful moments so that he could tolerate the violence that he was forced to be witness to or participate in whenever anything got out of hand.

Millenia passed and things remained relatively the same as he and the other angels continued to watch humanity grow and develop on Earth. Disease and natural disasters came and went and Heaven was ever-expanding as faith remained alive and well after Jesus was put on Earth to remind humans of what Adam and Eve had failed to do, to remind them of how they were supposed to live. Direct orders from God ceased apart from a select few and orders in general slowly became less and less frequent until they all but stopped. Inias and others worried about their father, but continued to do their part in keeping Heaven running. Most never questioned that their father was continuing to make plans and look over his universe. However, the birth of the Winchesters started a downward spiral that nobody truly saw coming.

Most of Heaven knew the Winchesters were descended from Cain and Abel and that their line held the true vessels for Michael and Lucifer. Inias didn’t hear of Azazel’s plans for Sam and many other children until he had started his test to find the right person to open the gates of Hell. That action led to the path toward getting Lucifer out of the cage that he was imprisoned in. Talk about the upcoming battle between Michael and Lucifer was running rampant and Inias couldn't be more opposed to the idea. The idea of his siblings fighting like that disturbed Inias, but he knew there wasn’t much he could do but to remain loyal to his orders. Castiel was tasked with pulling Dean out of Hell, which started a long chain of the angels needing to resurrect the Winchesters to keep them alive for the battle.

Truthfully, Inias admired the Winchesters and all of the other hunters for what they did for humanity. He often wondered why angels themselves didn’t take care of the vermin that Lucifer and Eve had created, but knew it wasn’t his place to step in unless asked. Castiel fell as he grew more involved with the Winchesters and less inclined toward his orders. At the time, Inias felt sorry for his brother. His task had led him to a path that had caused him to fall. Others fell around or before this time as the angels were starting to grow uneasy with no guidance from God and the impending battle. When Lucifer and Michael both ended up trapped in the cage with the younger Winchester, Inias falsely hoped that it would be the end of the unrest in Heaven between his siblings. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. Raphael became the leader in place of Michael and fighting continued to escalate.

Inias stayed out of the fighting altogether, perturbed by the inability to follow any orders. He didn’t know how to help. Then, Castiel declared himself the new God and killed many of the garrison that serviced Raphael. While it was hard to imagine that any good could come from that, he trusted Castiel’s instincts and knew that Raphael was eager to push for more destruction. However, Castiel soon became unhinged with power and the souls of the Leviathan he had taken in to gain power to end Raphael’s rule soon killed him. At this time, he stepped up alongside Hester as they were at the top of Castiel’s garrison and took over command for the remaining angels in their garrison.

When new prophet Kevin Tran came into power, indicating the death of Chuck Shurley, Inias descended with Hester to secure the prophet in hopes of getting more guidance from God. Surprisingly, they ran into Castiel. Inias was happy to see his brother, whereas Hester grew angry because she could tell he was out of his mind due to taking on Sam Winchester’s torment from his time in the cage. They were banished by the Winchesters before they can get their hands on the prophet, but soon found them again. Hester beat up Castiel despite Inias’s protests for a peaceful resolution since they had lost so many angels, but also because his brother had been through a lot and Inias cared for him. She was killed by the demon Meg. Inias and the other angels that had accompanied them stood down. After a moment with Castiel to say that he wished Castiel could come with them, he and the other angels took over the duty of protecting Kevin Tran.

He protected Kevin while he deciphered the demon tablet with other angels, but two of his other angels are killed by a Leviathan named Edgar when they go to visit Kevin’s mother. Inias and another barely escape with their lives. Inias returned to Heaven and worked under Naomi, because being a loyal servant of Heaven was all that he had known. However, he fell with the others when Metatron tricked Castiel into banishing all of the angels from Heaven. Once on Earth, mortally wounded, Inias found his vessel to heal in. Everything that Inias had ever known was stripped from him. He knew that he could no longer try to fight through the destruction that had become commonplace with Heaven. Instead, he found a ranch house with a small amount of property in Sonoma, California that he was able to acquire.

Since the fall, he has resided in the angel proof home, gardening and immersing himself in literature and other creations of humanity that he had admired from afar. He still has his angel radio and was briefly conflicted when he heard that Heaven didn't have power to keep it running years later, but ultimately continued to stay in hiding. As time on his own continued on, Inias started beekeeping and has built some on his property to house farm animals that he saves from abusive situations. To make a bit of money with the upkeep and watch humans find happiness in what he has built, his rescue farm and greenhouse are open to the public. Inias enjoys his time with humans, even when they find him rather eccentric while he tries to learn their dialect and customs.

Urban Strife an old school strategy game due later this year

Urban Strife post-apoc survival and RPG game coming to Windows PC, but has plans for Linux. All due to the creative minds of developer White Pond Games. Working to make its way onto Steam in 2023. I hated my twenties. God, I hated my twenties so badly. Of course I say this while I’m still on my twenties - twenty four minus a month and five days to be exact. I never wanted to be twenty-something. I remember being an early teenager and not wanting desperately becoming eighteen or twenty like all the other people my age did. I wanted to be thirty. I wanted to be married and have kids. I wanted to have a job and a house of my own. I wanted to skip to the part where I had life all figured out - or at least some of it. I didn’t want the doubt and uncertainty of the twenties and I certainly am not a fan of it as I go through them now. Of course every age and stage of life comes with uncertainty and their own set of rules and issues, but not as many and the ones you do have, are not the same. You already know what you do for a living - because you’re already doing it. You have already, hopefully, moved out of your parent’s house, at least. And if you’re not married and have kids by this time, you at least have had time to figure out a way to be okay with that. There is doubt, I know that, but the point is, there is not as much. Sure, it’s possible that you’re not all set, a lot could happen in so little time, but it’s less likely that your whole life is an incognito? Than it is in your twenties and you are more likely, if you haven’t reached your goals yet, to be getting closer to them.

In your twenties you don’t know anything. It’s true life is a constant learning everyday experience, so it’s obvious you don’t know everything you’re supposed to know in your thirties or forties - God, even in your fifties - I guess you really die without ever knowing everything you’re supposed to know so I guessed you’re supposed to know those things anyway - but you know even less in your twenties.

If you are in your twenties my guess is that you’re still studying or just finished studying and still trying to figure out what you’re going to do next, and if that thing we’ll be something you’ll enjoy, never mind a thing in your area of studies. You’re probably still living with your parents - as am I, unfortunately - and you probably can’t afford to move out, or even plan to move out, anytime soon either.

You’re also probably either suffering from a heartbreak, about to get your heart broken, or recovering from a heartbreak - as it happens, the famous twenties are not an auspicious stage for relationships to prosper. Probably because the guys you’re dating, who are twenty-something like you, are really like seventeen, still. Although I must say that this is unfair for me to say. I do not atribute most guys’ inability to commit to their partner to immaturity rather to a common to a lot of men character default - indecency and lack of character overall. Growth is an illusionary concept, really. And, as of late, it has been my understanding that aging and maturity do not go hand in hand as we all have come to believe. That’s why you find men in their forties who are still seventeen.

And I’m sorry, it was also unfair of me to mention indecency as men’s characteristic. It is not. It is a human characteristic. I don’t really believe men cheat more than women do, I just think they don’t get caught as often.

If you’re in your twenties you’re probably wondering if all your dreams will come true, if you’ll reach at least some of the goals you’ve set for yourself. Now, I know we all know “life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans” - and all that shit you see on framed house posters with cheesy inspirational quotes such as that one - but the Universe has to give you something right? It has to reward  you for at least some good behavior. You can’t go to the other side without getting nothing from your wishlist. Can you?

Now, let’s rewind a bit. I know you’re probably wondering why I’ve said “Universe” instead of God and I’d like to get that out of the way now before it gets too messy moving forward. Well, first of all, I’m not a religious person, at all. Never have been. In fact, I had kind of a mental struggle with the whole “believing in God/not believing in God” debate, which made my mom furious and upset. I wouldn’t consider my mom a religious person at all either but she does believe in God and she does sort of pray every night to say thanks and all that. She also sleeps with her “terço” by her side every night, too. I can’t really commit to doing something every night. Or every day. But my understanding of “God” changed when I realized that the relationship you have with God is totally personal and exclusive, as it should be. To believe in God, to me, is having faith and believing that everything will work out in the end. It means to have hope in something - in something greater than yourself. Greater than all of us. So when I realized I didn’t need to “afilliate” myself to a religion to believe in something, it all became clear. My God can be anything I want to be, I anything I believe it to be. It can be a man or a woman - or neither. It could be big or small or have no shape at all. I know people give it a face - a human face - so it becomes more believable and approachable to them. People fear what they don’t know so it’s natural that they feel more comforted by something that feels familiar to them. Personally, I feel the other way around. What comforts me is to know that there’s something out there guiding me that knows more than I do. A lot more than I do. Something whole. All-knowing. Something that posesses gifts and capacities that no human even dares to dream to posess. This thing can’t have no relation to a human being - or to a being, even. So what is my God, you may ask. My God is energy, my God is strenght. I name it Universe because the Universe is the greatest thing I know to exist, apart from love. I wish you I could name it something I don’t know because I’m pretty sure I don’t know what the greatest thing there is, is, but you can see how that is not really possible. I also name it Everything because I do really believe it to be Everything. Because believing is everything. Being here, living - laughing and crying and loving and suffering is everything.

I’m lucky to be able to say I have not yet suffered great pain and tragedy in my life but I have experienced my share of heartache, as we all have. I have had my trusted broken and it broke me with it. There’s this thing I say - me and probably a lot more people since it’s not that weird of a realization - that falling in love is like jumping from the highest plank into a pool. Now, you’re so high up that you can’t actually see this pool you’re jumping into. You don’t know if the pool’s empty of filled with water, so you don’t really know if, when you fall, you’ll take a great give in the great body of water or just crash and most likely die. That’s love. That’s falling in love. It’s called falling for a reason. You have no way of knowing what’s waiting for you down there, you don’t if it will be great or horrible - or both. But you just have to do it, you have to go for it. You have to jump. You have to believe. You have to try because what’s the alternative? Never knowing? What you find down there could be great pain but it can also be great joy. I would take all the pain to experience all the love and joy that comes with it, because there is no joy without pain. It’s just how it is and we’re meant to live it all - good and bad. We’re supposed to experience both joy and pain. That’s living. And believing it’s all for a reason, for a higher purpose. I wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s what makes us humans.

Lessons from my cacoon #1

My healing does not take place in a vaccuum. As much as i want it to...

I got in an arguement w... actually most of my friends yesterday. See, my 24th birthday is coming up and as much as i despite capitalism, it kinda popped off on "the giftgiving for birthdays" thing (not christmas just birthdays, if i was born to consume, then you can celebrate my life with a gift just for being born). And i do want to say that i have NEVER said, "you MUST give me gifts" i get that sometimes you dont have the money or dont know what to get them or maybe you arent close, whatever.

But in all my life, i felt bad abt ppl splurging on me. And i have always been shy to ask for things or favors or freaking love in general. And that is something i wanted to unpack.

So i sent my birthday wishlist to my family and my friends. Unashamed. And im still unashamed despite the argument.

The fight was about how in the last couple years not everyone has been getting gifts, some ppl are getting nothing so we should just not do gifts this year.

Now i get it, that sucks to not get gifts on your birthday from ppl that you think love you! Totally understandable. And they said it had happened two years in a row (the covid years mind you) so they assumed we werent doing gifts anymore.

I was... well mainly angry. I was upset that they didnt take into account my financial situation compared to theirs, or covid or the fact that this conversation was SUPPOSED to be about me but somehow we are planning a birthday party for EVERYONE now (they planned a new holiday: birthday day, which is exactly what it sounds like)

I was so upset i had to blow off steam atbthe gym. I worked out for 90 minutes. Thats the longest and hardest ive ever worked out in my life! And i know im gonna be sore tomorrow.

But after some actual reflection i realized a couple things:

Im actually pretty proud that my friend spoke her mind. Id been preaching that to them for a while now. I wished it could have been brought up around THEIR birthdays but we do have a solution now to the problem bc they spoke up. However i respond can not discourage that!

I knew their feelings are justified in feeling hurt, and that my feelings are justified that the conversation could have been brought up at different time. Both can be true for sure. But NONE OF US ARE PERFECT! Im not perfect and my friend isnt perfect and the rest of our friends arent perfect. And i cant expect perfect interactions or perfectly timed confrontations or a gift every year. And life isnt perfect. We make mistakes and go broke and hurt each others feelings and frustrate each other.

And lastly and most importantly, i realized that like, even tho i wasnt the only person who didnt get these ppl gifts, i still did not get them gifts. My financial and mental issues are unimportant here! Handmade gifts are awesome! Despite finally having a decent job and finally clawing my way out if the depths of my mental hell all that is internal. I loved my friends then and i love them now and yet, even then, i didnt... idk make them cards, i didnt do what i could at the time. I was wrapped in myself and my insecurities and just... didnt think of them.

And so those points in history have already happened, and have been processed, and suddenly im healing and coming up and all i can do is make up for it. Bc those experiences dont exist in a vaccuum.

Of course im not at the pinnacle of my healing journey so i still have some pretty toxic mental gymnastics flipping around my brain. But by the time their birthdays rolls around it should be done.

I feel like i only barely made sense here :/

My point is everyone who let their mental health affect their behavior and is coming out of that will probrably have to go on an apology tour.

And my point is also if you have a fixable problem, be sure to point it out. Ppl may not even realize its an issue.

“It doesn’t matter.” It mattered to him. “I got enough.” You had acted like it didn’t bother you and maybe it hadn’t bothered you, but it sure as hell bothered Jake. He couldn’t blame your parents, they had done all they could and they were proud, they wouldn’t have accepted help even if they may have needed it.

Jake vowed to do better, he promised himself that he would never be ridiculed like that again, and he promised that he would never let you feel like that again. It was why he has spent so much time with you while Christmas shopping, because he paid attention to everything you had paid attention to and held for a while, wondering what it would be like if you could have afforded it.

You didn’t know that Jake was planning on buying it for you at a later date. You didn’t know that Jake was going to give you everything you wanted, you had remained good company for him while he tried to find the perfect gift for his mom.

Every year, Jake would continue the tradition of getting you anything you wanted, but you had gotten smart. You had kept the tradition of going with Jake when he shopped for his parents and his sister, but you hadn’t paid much attention to any of the gifts yourself, thinking that t would stop Jake from spoiling you. As if that would stop Jake from treating you like his princess as if that would stop jake from showering you with presents. He knew; he always knew.

When Christmas had rolled around again, and again it was time for you and Jake to go shopping together, you hadn’t said a word, you had kept your list inside your head without uttering a word to a single living soul. The day had progressed as it usually had, Jake buying you an iced latte despite the snow blowing outside and then you would do half the shopping in the morning, Jake would insist you go to lunch and he paid, and when he had finished the day off completing the rest of the list.

You, in all your confidence, thought you had him stymied. You thought this was finally the year where you would win one over on Jake, and when Christmas morning had come all those weeks later and it was time to exchange gifts, you were excited about your victory.

“This is for you,” your gift was personable, it was a photo book of your favourite memories of the two of you, something that may not have had great monetary value but it was meaningful.

“I always knew you liked me,” Jake had beamed, his smile radiant as he opened the present and looked through the pictures, pouring intense speculation into every image.

“You’re my best friend, Jake. Of course, I like you.” you had truly thought you won, and you were eager to celebrate your victory when yet again, Jake Jensen had caught you off guard.

“I love you.” He had whispered against your ear as he sidled up to you and pulled you into his embrace moments before your gift started to wiggle, and a furry black head had poked out of a red bag, two deep brown eyes staring at you.
