This was experimental for me in a lot of ways, and I think it's one of the best getting-together fics I've ever written. I got to explore the punk scene a little (though the music referenced ended up being more generically "alt", which is what I listen to), as well as looking for ways to tell multiple perspectives from a Third Person Limited style which is how the notes and the song lyrics came to be. If you read it and like it, check out the wonderful 'inspired by' works at the bottom - Chrissy made me a gorgeous playlist and LK did some stunning fanart of punk!Henry.

This was heavily inspired by How to Fuck With (and Feed) Your Soulmate though I do think I've led the premise somewhat off the rails by now lol. This fic has been such a blast to work on (until I got stuck - I promise the next chapter is coming, it's like half written), especially with the included social media posts and other images. The Hazards of Falling In Love (Rescue Me) / MCU, Steve/Tony, 4k words, rated T

This was a pinch hit, so it came together very suddenly and very quickly, but it's so special to me. I got to share a lot of my own life experience through this with my chosen career and how that bleeds into other parts of my life. I had just had my first major Signal 1 (officer in trouble) incident a couple weeks before writing this, and I took some time in the middle to get emotional with it and really sit with that. It was healing for me in a way, and I think it made for a better story too. If you like Firefighter AUs, meet-weirds, or coworkers-to-lovers fics, I do recommend this one.

My first writing collab! LK and I had worked together on Hold Me Steady with them doing the art, and we decided that we couldn't just part ways after that. For this one, they wrote all of Bucky's POV, and I did Steve's POV. It's really cute, and even though my writing style has changed somewhat since then, I'm very proud of this fic. If you like non-powers AUs with a dash of miscommunication, you might like this.

Headcanons of Jhin with a Gothic Lolita Female s/o

Jhin finds you to be the most compelling and most adorable person he's ever met.

It intrigues him that a person can dress in such brooding colors-with a matching personality to boot-but practically fawn over pink, pretty, and cute stuff behind closed doors.

He's a fan of your gothic lolita style. The dark and grim colors with sheer or lace poofy skirts and knee high socks paired with chunky boots or doll shoes, sometimes including a pair of gloves to complete the whole look-reminds him very much of beautiful porcelain dolls sitting atop a shelf of a toy store.

That said, he very much treats you a like a doll (and sees you as a muse and inspiration).

This man knows how to sew (it's for his actors, mainly). Thank the gods of Ionians that he pursued arts and learned how to sew, he's now proud of it more than ever because he gets to dress you in pretty dresses, like you woild to any doll.

And yes, he has made a doll that is a carbon copy of you that he keeps in his studio (It was out of love). One dressed as a gothic lolita and one dressed in a pretty pink dress like a princess.

He has also made stuffed toys of your favorite animals since you love to surrounded by those and hug them in times when you need comfort. (There has been one instance where Jhin deliberately accidentally kicked a plushie away, saying "Why are hugging these toys when you can hug me?". Please just give this man a hug.) 

You're his muse, of course this man has painted you. There was one particular painting where you wore a pink dress with ribbons, your hair was braided and decorated with flowers and pink tassels, and you were surrounded by flowers and birds. You truly looked like a princess in fairy tales. 

He knows your comfort shows like the back of his hand. He never and will never call them "kid shows", he would never want to be the person to ridicule someone who watches a series that "aren't for adults". Yes, he thinks that those kind of people are idiots and that they should be dead. 

Jhin has a sixth sense when it comes to you. He feels whenever you need extra comfort. He'll get a big floofy blanket, enough to wrap you both comfortably, and just proceed to dump it on you-lovingly, laugh a little before he snuggles up beside you and wraps you in his arms, resting his chin on your head (if you're smaller than him), then mumbles the word "I love you", kissing the top of your head.

roland: no, i was in my problematic era when i just started attending nrc.

roland: so.. i don't really have a "fun story", but i will tell you this. i loved to cause trouble back then. i was that kid who loved to prank everyone, even the old people.

seth: i see, i see..

roland: even the nice old people.

seth: oh no.

roland: my parents didn't really try to stop me, they actually kind of.. encouraged it.

roland: oh, i don't mean it in a "you go son, go and prank that poor old woman!" way, i mean it.. it's like they just pretended not to see it. they spoiled me a lot too, so i never got punished for my actions.

roland: maybe if they were more strict with me, i would become a better person..

seth: hey, don't think about it like that, okay? it just means that they loved you a lot.

roland: haha, maybe you're right.

roland: .. or maybe it just means that they were too scared to stop me.

seth: okay, avery-chan is one of the cutest boys i've ever met, but i want to slap him for this.

seth: but hey, at least you find gardening fun, right?

roland: .. not really.

roland: no, don't get me wrong, i don't regret creating my club, but.. i've actually never been a fan of gardening.

seth: um, but why did you go for a club like that, then?

roland: i-i'd prefer not to say it.

seth: but why do you dislike gardening though? i always wanted to try it-

roland: because of the dirt. i hate getting my hands dirty.

roland: well, i'm mostly okay with them. i'm not really a huge fan of birthdays, but it's not like i hate them.

roland: i prefer to celebrate other people's birthdays than mine, though. but it wasn't always like that, i was a very selfish kid in the past, haha.

roland: now i just.. don't really like being the center of attention, i guess.

seth: aww, are you shy?

roland: maybe. but it's more like.. i feel like i just don't deserve it.

seth: huh? what do you mean by that?

seth: oh, um.. okay.

roland: he got me this really cute sweater, he knitted it himself.

roland: and he actually did a very good job with it.

seth: that's so cool! ugh, i'm jealous now. i wish i got a cute gift like that from neige-chan too..

roland: hey, it's okay. i'm sure he will get you something nice for your birthday too.

seth: but i don't wanna wait! why can't he get me a gift just for.. you know..

roland: it's fine though. i know she doesn't care about me that much, she only cares about that stupid dragon guy and i'm not talking about malleus-

seth: come on, man, you have to get over her! i agree, she's very pretty, but i'm sure you'll find someone even better than her one day!

   "Mind if I text the Doctor where we are?" said Ruby.

   "Pfft, we'll just see if he can keep up with us," said Rogue as he started to run, but he nodded vigorously.

   They focused as well as they possibly could as they landed on each speed boost on the pavement. In a way, it wasn't that different from driving a kart, and they were both pretty damn good at that. So they ducked and wove through the streets, Rogue with the map up in front of him and Ruby following closely behind. She ended up getting the voice recognition on her phone to call the Doctor instead of texting him, since if she looked down for a second she would probably fall flat on her face.

   Suddenly they came to a wide open courtyard. There were themed cafés around its edges, as well as arcades, Piranha Plant gardens and big screens showing the races inside the stadium. In the middle of the courtyard, several Shy Guys in different coloured tunics - but all with the same masks - darted about, showing off their vehicles to potential customers. It was a huge courtyard though, and it was about a hundred metres to reach the nearest Shy Guy. Rogue's breathing was ragged, and one of the big screens was displaying a countdown, at the end of which the pixel exchange yard would move on to its next location. Rogue had ten seconds.

   "I know you're fast, but are you Usain Bolt?" Ruby panted.

   Footsteps crashed up behind them, and their Doctor poked his head between the two of them, one arm around each of their shoulders. But Rogue immediately started sprinting and the Doctor and Ruby just had to go with it. Ruby heard more footsteps over her shoulder and twisting around saw that the other Doctor and Rose had come too. They also seemed adept at running. Ruby figured some things never changed.

   "What's going on, Rogue?" their Doctor shouted.

   Rogue pointed towards the centre of the yard, where the wings of his bird-like ship were poking up above the other crafts.

   "The boosts… fast… whole place… fast." Rogue took a huge gulp of air between each breath. They were only halfway there, but there were only about three seconds left on the countdown. He gritted his teeth and 'explained', "Email… ship…"

   The countdown hit zero. It was on a big bright display and it was in a snappy Mario Kart art style, and as it hit zero it started to visually dissolve, pixellating. The edges of all the vehicles in the yard got more jagged as they too started to turn to pixels. They were maybe about ten metres away. With one more burst, could Rogue stop them before they left?

   But Rogue was out of gas. He juddered to a stop, leaning against the Doctor and wheezing. Ruby thought about their walk into the city, when she hadn't been able to tell who was leaning on who and how cute it had been. She could understand Rogue not wanting to disturb that feeling, but here he was, holding onto the Doctor' shoulders for dear life so that he didn't collapse to the ground. There really had been a lot of running today.

   "Oh boy, good thing they weren't Chuldurs," Rogue murmured. "They'd be loose all over the city by now."

   "Rogue, do you want me to-" the Doctor started to offer, but the pixellation had taken full effect now. Only a few tiny squares remained hovering in the air, more blinking out by the moment. Then they were all gone.

   The Doctor held on tightly to Rogue and said, "You've got two Time Lords here, man. I'm sure we can figure this out."

   Rogue shook his head. "No… just…need to stop."

   Ruby could see him trembling, and his weight started to drag the Doctor down until they both had to put their hands out to break their falls. They bumped to the ground, the Doctor groaning and trying to help Rogue sit up. But Rogue had nearly lost consciousness, and was barely reacting to the Doctor's touch. His breath heaved out of him, and he was in no state to discuss sales arrangements. His hand clutched his Doctor's like a Chuldur's talon.

   "Hey," said the other Doctor, just about on top of his own breathing. His legs had been poking out the bottom of his Boo costume as he ran but now he'd tucked them back inside and hopped back on the seat. He bobbed around in front of them so that he was looking down at his future self. "Just in case you were getting any ideas…"

   Ruby's Doctor sighed, but nodded. "I know. That really would cause a paradox."

   "Exactly," said the other Doctor. "Can be hard to remember when you're in it, I know."

   "What would be a paradox?" said Ruby.

   "Using the TARDIS to go back and fix this," said the Doctor. "We'd encounter previous versions of our particular… incarnations, which would be a problem."

   "A big problem for all of spacetime, and we’ve had enough of weakening the walls of reality," said Ruby's Doctor.

   "Oh, yes," agreed Ruby with a shudder.

   The other Doctor crouched down and patted Rogue on the shoulder. "Well, as long as we're all on the same page. His poor ship's gone."

   "What are you going to do now, almost-uncle?" asked Rose, coming round to crouch next to her Doctor.

   Ruby's Doctor squeezed the arm he had wrapped around Rogue's waist. "Going to wait for this one to wake up, then have a wee chat. Kiddo, think you could help me lift him over to one of those cafés?"

   Rose started to move, but her Doctor shook his head. "I'm kiddo. Sure thing, old man." He shrugged off his Boo costume and passed it to Rose to hold.

   The two Doctors got set and carefully lifted the really quite tall Rogue up. 'Kiddo' helped 'Old Man' get Rogue into his arms, like a young child who's fallen asleep. Ruby gaped at the strength of her Doctor, even if it was augmented by the strength of love he felt for his fallen man. It was so easy to feel safe with him, whether you were physically in his arms or not. The Doctor had promised Ruby's mother he would keep her safe, and she had listened, and felt assured. But it was different, right? She and the Doctor were best friends, but in so many ways they weren't equal. The Doctor was responsible for her, and if he fucked up he would have to answer to Carla. Surely it had to be different for his boyfriend? What was the point of the word partner if it didn't mean you were equals?

   Eventually the two Doctors worked together to set Rogue down on a bench in one of the outdoor café areas. Rogue's Doctor sat next to him, squeezed up very tight, so that Rogue didn't have room to fall sideways. The other Doctor went over to a vending machine and brought back a can of juice. He offered it to Rogue, but Rogue took one sleepy sniff of the juice and jerked straight upwards, eyes opening wide.

   He gaped at the can. "Gurgle?!"

Before any of you say a thing, I know that there are 2 humanoid 1678s which are 1678-A (Bobbies/Policeman) and 1678-C (Wretch) and an avian type one (1678-B)

The one I'll be using is 1678-A (Policeman) because it takes too much time to write 3 versions of this SCP (But I might consider writing the other 2, but it's highly unlikely)

First Encounter

When you first met this humanoid, you were sent into SCP 1678 for some test

The police humanoid emitted a loud whistle as the speakers screamed ‘‘Police! Halt, criminal!’’

A couple of others who were with you attempted to shoot them with their guns but were quickly shown to be resistant

Luckily for them, they managed to plant some explosives which caused damage

The other 1678-As went in and attacked them which wasn't unusual because of their hostile nature

However, for you, one of them managed to capture you and ran

For some reason, it showed some interest towards you and warded off the other SCP 1678-As off from you

They seemed to understand that you were "marked" and left you alone

That particular 1678-A managed to get you out from harm and back to your foundation

The foundation staff did wonder what had happened and you told them everything with proof since you were wearing a bodycam

They've soon noticed that this particular policeman was softer towards you as you bandaged up its broken arm

Your feelings for him

After the incident, you were sent back down into 1678 for further research and you bumped back into the sane 1678-A

You only remembered that it was him because of its gesture and its unusual markings which distinguished him from the others

Somehow, you both were able to communicate with each other

The researchers realised that they seemed to understand human speech, mainly English, however, they seemed to understand other forms of European languages as well

Moreover, this particular Bobby also understood sign language and used it to his advantage to communicate with you, displaying some fondness for you

The researchers were reluctant to let you carry on with this test as they've noticed that you've reciprocated the same gesture

Let's just say that the researchers and the other Bobbies agreed to the fact that it was strange for you and that special policeman to be dating

His Confession

Over time, as you both became closer, he worked up the courage to sign to you that he cares a lot about you

And you've found that rather cute and returned the gesture

Which then made you both a rather unique type of couple

The other 1678-As were concerned and curious about this new relationship and so was the Foundation

The researchers had decided to borrow your newfound partner and took him to his new room (No, you've basically kidnapped him)

Needless to say, the other Bobbies were somewhat furious while others were glad that he's gone since he betrayed them for not killing you

Your new partner was somewhat homesick, so you've decided to paint some victorian style art for his cell

Date

From time to time, you both were shoved back into 1678 which just so happens to be the main place for you both to date

Some of his friends were relieved to see him and some would even offer you a hug

You obviously returned the gesture for being so flattering and because your man could finally get laid (NGL yall still be touch starved to the point you'd even date strange beings and objects)

Dates with this Bobby would be rather interesting

Like, he'd hold hands, but probably wouldn't start it during the beginning of the relationship because he's just shy (Just like everybody else here)

Since his face is all bandaged up, you wouldn't really be having many kisses

But he'll make it up with hugs instead

His fellow friends would probably enjoy bothering the both of you while you're there and would pull pranks on you both

If you both were in the foundation, you'd be chilling in his cell and talking bout your experiences in life (Not like you'd have much to say, get back to studying/work)

The researchers may poke fun of you both but would generally leave you both alone

When he gets jealous

Now, depending on who he's jealous of, he would react differently

If it was another fellow 1678-A, he would be slightly hostile and assert his dominance over the others

However, if it was a member of the foundation or anyone else that's not 1678-A for that matter, he'd be even more aggressive and would probably try and kill them

Unless you manage to stop him then it's fine

This Bobby would be slightly possessive because you're the only other person who genuinely cares about him other than his 1678 friends/family

If he sees you having a friendly chat with another person/SCP, he would wrap an arm around you just so the other person knows you're taken

I think over time he learns some boundaries so even if he is aggressive, he wouldn't just automatically send the dude you're with to hell

Unless that person is a crappy person then good for them

Yandere!1678-A

This yandere right here would literally kidnap you and take you back into 1678

He'd make sure that you would never find a way back into the foundation which does concern the researchers, so they send a group of D-classes and MTFs to find you

If he was feeling nice, he would let you wander around 1678 but he would most likely be next to or near you at all times

If he was having a bad day, he would tie you up in a random building and made sure that nobody can get in or out

Would most likely be even more hostile to everybody else around you

If you haven't behaved, he'd probs use something sharp to inflict pain on you

If you managed to behave, then he loosens the ropes around your arms, legs and neck

Probs would feed you tiny doses of 1678-D but only a bit because he's aware of how that affects the bodies of ordinary humans

Their younger sister

You and the other 1678-As would literally be families at this point or friends with the ones who are lurking away from the main area of 1678

And since you were rather new, you were treated as the younger one (That's also because you're the youngest one)

Would probably protect you from everything

You would be spoilt to death and wouldn't have to hurt a fly

One of the policemen would get you a 1678-B as your personal pet

And it's rather fond of you so it basically follows you around

Would most likely intimidate your dates if you have one

Even more so if they're a human/SCP from the Foundation

If it was another member of 1678 then they're more chill

However, if you were dating 1678-C, they'd be quite reluctant for you to be in a relationship with her but would let you anyways

When their kids say their name for the first time

Would 100% be crying internally and shocked

Like, it happened out of the blue since you both were just relaxing

Word would spread across the whole of 1678 because of this

And not because you both were a unique pairing in the first place

1678-A would try to teach your child some sign language in contrast to you who would teach them to communicate verbally

Most likely try and teach the kid to defend themselves and probably attack others

But you wouldn't let him because they were too young (Just like you lot!!! Shouldn't y'all be studying in primary or high/secondary schools?)

The other 1678s would literally yeet their way to meet the kid just so they can teach your child to say more words

And to swear of course

When his S/O is angry

Oh dear

If the foundation doesn't know any better, they'd just assume that all the Bobbies were the aggressive ones

And oh boy were they wrong

You were the one who needs a chill pill

Basically, some guy tried to hit on you and wouldn't stop

So you just casually gave him a taste in his own medicine

Which were a punch in the face and a kick in the nuts (Kids, don't do this to a guy unless he really deserves it)

He somehow got back up and carried on harassing you

Your man was just strolling around the park until he saw the commotion

He had to literally hold you back and made the guy run for his life

Which was a shocker since it's usually the other way around

And of course, everybody inside 1678 heard about the news and cheered on for you while others just ran since they didn't wanna have the first-hand experience with your anger issue

When someone tries to steal you away

Oh this man right here would gather all his police friends as well as the birds to hunt down whoever stole you away

He would be furious to the core and rightfully so

The foundation was informed of this and they didn't blame this SCP

And that's because the person who stole you was from the Chaos Insurgency

Both GOIs hated each other's guts so the foundation just kinda let 1678-A hunt down the guy

And he did along with the MTFs

But was met with you standing over the guy's dead body

Then everybody realised that your man taught you how to protect yourself

And you did it so perfectly that even 1678 was intimidated af

Nobody wanted to mess with you and your partner was relieved that he taught you self defence

When his pregnant!S/O gets hurt by accident

This particular 1678-A that just so happens to be your partner, is rather shy and introverted

Nad although he does his 'job' well, he would rather just stay away from any contact

Until he met you and you became pregnant

This 1678-A would be slightly more protective but would let you have some space

And because of this, you managed to give yourself a papercut

Which was met with a furious policeman

But was cooled down when you explained your injury to him

He was giving you a huge lecture about your safety and how not to get hurt because you're carrying his baby

Wouldn't leave you alone ever again

Even if that means he would have to sit by the corner at all times

Would send his mates to come over to check on you if he wasn't there

Meeting a dragon hybrid child fem!reader

Definitely would be curious about you since they mostly interact with Foundation staffs

Probably would try to attack you but instead got burnt

1678-A would definitely notice your strange appearance and that you cry lava

Would feel bad so he'd try and comfort you

This then leads to you both being rather attached to each other

This particular 1678-A would have to bribe the others to keep you

The foundation realising this would happen

Probably would let you stay there for research purposes

They would most likely help level up your telekineses

Treats you like their own child and would be extremely protective

Most likely would have a heart attack every time you show kindness towards foundation members instead of attacking them

Every time you're in danger, the ones attacking you would soon realise that they've screwed up

Because the SCPs can hear you cry which would summon a whole bunch of them

When he accidentally kills you

He was basically chilling with you until some MTF members arrived to take some samples for testing

They were attacked by the other 1678-As and retaliated

This chill guy would lead you to safety before attacking the remaining MTFs

You realising what has happened decided to try and help out

You noticed that one of the MTF members were about to shoot your guy and managed to throw the gun out of his hand

1678-A notices and tries to attack the member but instead killed you

The remaining MTF members flee as he mourns your death

He would be even more vengeful and aggressive to the foundation members

Which does scare off the other Bobbies

Stayed in one of the abandoned houses to cry alone

Yandere!1678 - A x Evil!Reader

I'd say aside from his yandere self and the fact that he's only more aggressive to everyone else aside from you and giving you some scars, he's pretty dense and thicc in the brain

Probably wouldn't notice that you were working on them for a project in the GOC

You were able to get away with a lot of things because of your small stature and innocent appearance

Definitely managed to fool this yandere!1678-A because of your appearance

You could be just as vicious when you want to be

Yandere!1678-A soon realises that you were just using him for some experiment and were angered to the point of no return

Would most likely try and hunt you down

But since you've already got enough information about this SCP, you were able to devise a plan to leave

Manages to catch up to you but you were fortunate enough to know enough self-defence tactics to ward him off

Trying McDonald's Sprite

You were requested to bring some ordinary food to 1678 as a test

And you've decided that you wanted to bring some Sprite with some Apple pie, mozzarella dippers and pancakes (They're my soul food from Mackies ok? Don't judge)

When you arrived in 1678, that one particular policeman who is attached to you for some odd reason was curious about the food

Of course, he would need to take off the bandage on his head to taste the food but not before some bribery from you

He reminisced about the food since he loved eating them before he turned into 1678-A

Sprite, however, was slightly different

He never tried them and was surprised with how good they tasted

Most likely would ask you to get more for him though

Foundation staff would be rather conflicted but allowed you to reward him with Sprite and some food

Only whenever he behaved well though

When his kid swears at him

You should've seen the look on his face (oh the irony)

You both taught your kid verbal and non-verbal communications with some common sentences people would say

But never have either of you taught your kid how to swear

Kinda just happened and 1678-A was about to go into cardiac arrest (Pun intended)

Would hunt down whoever taught them that depending on the severity

Like if the kid was using a ton of swearing in a sentence and was directing it to either of you, 1678-A would kill the guy

You were more of a chill type of parent

But would recommend the kid to stop swearing sine it's rude

Most likely wound ground the kind for a week tbh

When the reader scares him (Child!Reader)

Well, let's just say you managed to make the policeman play hide and seek with you

And you were the one hiding since you secretly knew that you were a professional at it

So you made 1678-A to find you

And although he's pretty good at catching his victims, he couldn't find you (Cuz y'all be so short)

Like he was literally in front of you and he still couldn't see you and you even giggled

So you've decided to jump on him

And oh boy was he about to scream out for help

But luckily he didn't cuz the others would whoop yo ass

Probably wouldn't give you a lecture but would need a while for his precious heart to not go yeetus the fetus

He would probably yeet you though tbf

When the reader pole dances/aerial silk dance

1678-A probably would have some ideas on what pole dancing is

Maybe not as much with the term aerial silk dancing but would soon understand when he sees you dancing

Probably thinks that you're trying to fondue with him if you're pole dancing

Definitely would be in awe when he sees you dance with the aerial silks

Would have a difficult time mimicking you if he ever wants you to teach him

Has definitely fallen 1000 times while pole dancing and broke his arms while dancing 10 ft off the ground

If the others inside 1678 see you dancing, he'd be in a blushing mess, especially if you were dancing to certain kinds of songs

Would most likely tell you to dance for him privately so there's no peeking

Having a Pregnant!S/O

Would most definitely be on the guard more since you're carrying his child

1678-A would most likely follow you around like a well trained and clingy German Shepard

You'd most likely have to tell him to tone it down because you're pregnant, not some delicate flower

Would most likely do whatever you tell him to do, even if it means hurting himself as long as you're safe and sound

Definitely would make sure that another 1678 would be around you at all times when he's away from you

1678-A would occasionally rub your stomach and sing victorian era songs

When he hears the news he was devastated

He literally ran 69 miles just to see you

activities you do: in a manga café, you would have a private room together and just chill and roll around in it. at the latte art café, he's having so much fun seeing all the characters and drawings are put on top, even when they're not his (he orders shin-chan or doraemon). they offer 3d latte art classes and the two of you take one!

visual artist: he'd be in such awe over the fact that you're an artist. like, i mean this guy would tell you everything he knows about art and attempt to show you something he learned about shading from a video that he watched out of boredom. he knows he won't reach your level of artistic skill, but he loves your work as much as he loves you

dancer: he'll randomly ask you to put on a mini performance from time to time. you can have absolutely nothing prepared but he'll just tell you to do something you already know, even if he's seen it a million times. his attention is entirely on you, and will never stop asking for you to dance for him

jean:

visual artist: if you ever ask him "what should i draw," he will always respond with "me." you always end up drawing him, but you draw him in different styles to switch things up a bit. regardless of how confident you felt about your jean portrait, he'll keep it and never throw it out

dancer: this man just wants to watch you stretch. yeah the dancing is cool but wooo-wee does he loves how flexible you are. he's attempted to do some of the stretches you do and ends up pulling something. next thing you know, he's sitting on the ground, holding his muscle, and praising you on your flexibility

connie:

visual artist: this mf would have no patience when it came to you finishing your pieces. he'd get so mad when you add little details because he just wants to see it already. once you finish it and show him your work, he loves it, but still questions why you spent 30 minutes adding small lines, dots, and erasing certain parts

dancer: he would definitely mock you, but in a loving way. he'd pull that "haha look im a ballerina" shit out of his ass and then do a really bad leap. as much as he would make fun of certain moves, he would love every second of you dancing

levi:

visual artist: regardless of what type of artist you are, he thinks being involved in the arts is a really mature and impressive hobby, but he's got a lot of love for visual arts. he thinks watching you work is so peaceful (it's not) and is always blown away by your talent and dedication

dancer: you actually go to him when you need opinions on choreography! he's really good at giving critiques and you appreciate the time he gives to you. he picks up things quickly, so pretty soon you'll hear him bringing up terminology and actually trying to count out the steps in his head while the music plays. aside from being your little assistant, he's got a lot of respect for the effort you put in (and, for his punishments, you've actually suggested doing a ballet intensive with the cadets)

B - Before: Before you decided to make them your F/O, what did you first think of them/their source?

I know I’ve said this before, but he’s literally what got me invested in the show. The first two episodes of Iron Leaguer, I was just kinda waiting to see if this really was a show that I could get invested in. I was really skeptical, what with the sports angle and my own distaste for sports anime! But something about his episode just... Clicked in my brain! I wanted to see where all of the characters were going to go and grow! 

Once I was really in deep and going through the show with FULL interest, I didn’t think I had a crush on Bull. My main ships for him were him and Top Joy and/or him and Silky! I still love those ships, of course, but I didn’t even consider self-shipping. It’s not usually something I’ve ever given much thought to. It wasn’t until my wife kept teasing me about how obvious it was to her that I was crushing on him that I came to realize it myself! We’ve been writing cute Buruburi stuff ever since! 

U - Uplift: How do they help you when you’re stressed or sad and vice versa?

He’s a really good talker and listener. He gives me the space to talk freely about how I feel and that means a lot. Plus, I dunno, he always seems to have just the right thing to say to make me feel better! And it helps a ton that he’s also quite the cuddler, so not only do I get to vent out my feelings, I’m also being held and having my hair pet and all the good stuff that just makes the world not seem so bad!

Okay, I’m not gonna get on my high horse about love languages. At least I don’t think I will! My main issue with love languages as a concept is I think that many people get caught up in the idea of Everyone Has One True Love Language when... I think most people have varying degrees of multiple! It seems reductive how some people will treat it like a Hogwarts House or whatever. The concept is helpful, but execution is often lost on folks. Plus, it doesn’t help that like, every time I’ve taken a love language test, I get different answers, all based on slight variations in wording. And my wife never has a consistent love language either from these tests. I just like a little bit of all the languages! 

ALL THAT ASIDE... 

Bull Armor’s main love languages are Quality Time and Physical Touch. Meanwhile, my main love languages are Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch. Naturally, we hold hands quite a bit! 

A - Art: Do they draw or paint? What about any other kind of art? What’s their favorite style/subject/another artist who inspires them?

This one really got my brain thinking. At first, I think art and the art world would be a little bit lost on him. But once he saw something that moved him, that made him feel something, he’d really get what it’s all about. I could see him coming home from an art museum and just throwing himself into a new hobby of abstract art. He’d like the kind of messy “throw a whole bucket of paint at a canvas and smear it with your hands” kind of stuff. And I would gladly get him a tarp. His color schemes would likely be a bit on the garish and bright side, colors clashing in unpleasant ways, but it still provokes a certain feeling.

R - Rainbow: What colors do you associate with them and why?

So, Magnum Ace is already honestly the "red guy" on this rainbow of a team. Naturally, that leaves Bull Armor as orange. I always think of him as the orange of the team! I mostly think of the accents on his helmet, which are a bit more orangey than the yellow of his horns. Then you've got his pretty big baby blue eyes, of course it makes me think of him! And then there's his adorable pink cheeks! He's got a perpetual blush going on! 💗

M - Meeting: What was your first time meeting them?

We met at the mecha hospital! I was a paper pusher and he was a nurse! We became cordial little work pals, but I split from that place and eventually, so did he. Back then there was only a work buds bond.

O - Online: What is your f/o’s social media presence like, or what would it be like if they had internet in their world/era?

I’ve got two distinct ideas for Bull Armor on Twitter and Tumblr: 

Either one, the Hoizer approach, where 90% of the time it is very clear that the account is run by like a manager. Manager posting is almost always very formal, hyping up game days or autograph events. But randomly, Bull himself log on and post something that is very clearly directly from him. It’s not promoting anything, it’s just some random ass thought or feeling that he had in the moment. 

Or two, more like Chafurin’s (his voice actor’s) Twitter, where he honestly just happy old man posting. Pictures of sunsets in places he’s been, ramblings about the good things in life. Very wholesome and probably has a side hobby listed in his bio instead of, like, the fact that he’s a multiple championship winning Iron Leaguer.

After thinking it over for a bit, I've decided that I might as well do a proper underrated 3DS game rec list. I'm a bit of an ATLUS junkie and that's gonna be pretty disgustingly apparent in this list, but it's not my fault that they released hit after hit and all of them were duly ignored.

Due to tumblr's 10 image limit (and my struggle to keep motivated to do one thing for more than three hours) I'm definitely gonna have to break this up into parts and I'm fairly certain one of these lists is just gonna be MegaTen games lmao but I'd like to let people know about these excellent titles and see if I can't at least get people interested in them so they can get more traction.

So, without further ado:

Some 3DS Games that were criminally slept on (part 1)

Monster Hunter Stories

God, where do I begin with this game. Well, the basics: It's a JRPG spinoff title of the now widely successful and popular Monster Hunter series featuring a different take on interacting with the varied and intricate monsters populating the world: Riders.

Yep, instead of hunting the beasties, you play as a young rider who's completed their intiation ritual and can now bond with 'Monsties' as they've cutely labelled the usually ferocious monsters of the wilds. The great thing is that you still fight Monsters--tons of them in fact but this isn't a paid review and in my humble opinion, the most impressive thing about this game is the visual style. The landscapes, the armour, the way they redesigned and 3DS-ified the classically hyper realistic and monstrous beasts to not only be absolutely adorable but still capable of being intimidating when the time calls for it, the stellar animation of special moves and combination attacks--it's delicious, nutritious, stupendous, I can and will consume it like it's part of my recommended caloric intake.

It's very akin to Pokemon in the way its basic gameplay premise is set up, however, instead of catching--or even indeed befriending--the Monsties in the game, you rummage through their nests and steal their eggs, later hatching them and getting yourself a brand new lightly kidnapped monster pal!

Other general things about the game:

Pros:

The armour and weapon sets for both male and female characters slap along with the general character customisation options. They're incredibly diverse (though limited in body type) and you can switch around traits and features whenever you want from your house.

The POGS--these porkers are everywhere and they serve as tiny little achievements for exploring every odd and end of the world. Also they have little outfits. They're so cute. 🥺🥺

You can actually ride the Monsties. All of em. Or, at least the ones that you have available to be your buddies. They all have exploration skills and traits that not only make exploring much more interesting but encourage you to swap out your active Monstie and play around with your options a bit.

Y'all breeding Monsties is complicated and I live for just how intense and ridiculous you can get with optimal builds for these things.

The story is really competently put together! The characters, character designs and even the internal conflict with your starting trio of characters is really compelling along with the mystery of the blight that's infecting Monsters across the world. It's not anything worth awards but it's compelling and it makes you care about the characters if that's what you're in the market for.

Amazing sound design, expansive world, everything about the presentation of this game oozes that Monster Hunter charm even if the art is cutesier than usual. You'll never get bored of its stellar visual presentation!

Available for around twenty quid on the Google Play store, so if you want, you could actually get the full game on your smartphone or tablet. Note though that it would be a battery nuker.

Cons:

If you're on a regular 3DS, frame rate drops are a given. This game kinda pushes the visual capabilities of the 3DS to its absolute limit--a lot like Okamiden did back on the DS.

One save file :( It's pretty much for the same reason as above but still.

If you're playing as the girl, you can't get male armour and vice versa. Since there's only one save file, you'll never be able to have all of the armour sets in a single playthrough and that's criminal because both of the sets for the genders are absolutely breath-taking, thank you.

I 👏can't 👏make👏my👏 own 👏Palico👏

Multi-player for this game is pretty dead seeing as it's almost five years old by now and never got much press or traction. Usually this wouldn't be an issue - this game is 99% singleplayer and you don't really need to fuss about with multi-player to have fun, but if you want to collect all the Monsties, you'll need it since the only way to get Glavenus is through pvp achievements. :/

Final thoughts: Play it if you find yourself getting tired or disappointed with 3DS Pokemon games but still want something that feels as fantastical as Pokemon. It outshines the 3DS Pokemon games at every turn and I will never be over just how thoughtfully put together and fully realised these games are. Of course, if you've ever played Monster Hunter, then you know just how intensive these games are with the lore, biology, cultures and world of their Monsters but seeing that translated into JRPG format was just very sobering and it's a game that, to this day, continues to awe me with just how much love and attention went into it.

Last note: If you're still unsure about it, there's a demo available on the e-shop of the 3DS that allows you to play through the entire initial area of the game. Your data does carry through to the full release and to give you an idea of how much I've been able to squeeze out of it - my playtime for that demo is currently sitting at 22 hours. Make sure to get a hold of that Cyan-Kut-Ku!

7th Dragon III Code: VFD

The title may sound intimidating but the premise is not! A mysterious disease called Dragon Sickness spread by the Dragonsbane flowers that have cropped up all around the world. You and your team are recruited by the Nodens game company after you display extraordinary prowess in their hit virtual reality game 7th Encount. As you go through the adventure, you are tasked with finding out the truth behind the Dragon Sickness and asked to stop both it and the Dragons that are destroying the world.

This game is fun. It's another turn-based JRPG however, in this game you create all of your characters yourself from the myriad of classes available to you from the jump. Different classes of course have very different specialisations - Samurai focus on high powered cutting damage with their swords, Duelists are summoners who can influence the element of the battlefield as well as summon monsters from each element, Agents can hack into your enemies and inflict a barrage of nasty ailments, just to name a few - and you are given three teams of three characters each to experiment with different team comps and find the balance that works for you. There's also a wide variety of Dragons to hunt and kill in the game, which directly affects how infected your world is with the Dragon Sickness causing Dragonsbane. Along the way you will also come into contact with many interesting characters, concepts and confrontations that will make the task of saving the world all the more imperative.

Pros

1. The character creator and differing classes give way for tons of experimenting and playing around with your own unique approach to combat and carrying out your missions. Granted, 'character creation' is generous, it's little more than palatte swaps but the classes are really where VFD shines. Eight main classes may not sound like a lot, but the expaniveness of the character skills, their synergy with their fellow classes and the uniqueness of some of the classes in and of itself allows for so much flexibility and creativity in approaches to even tougher bosses. It also encourages the switching about of your party members to really finagle with the options available to you.

2. God this game is pretty. The locations, the character art, the creature design - all of it is gorgeous and this game capitalises on every bit of the 3DS's presentation limitations as it can.

3. You can romance anything and everyone - yes, you can even be gay/lesbian/poly in this game. In fact, one of the main characters - Julietta - is gnc and he's a constant source of joy as well one of my personal favourite characters, right behind Yuma.

4. Exploration is very very forgiving as the game has healing spots and teleport nodes all over the world to allow for quick, seamless travel between quest points without feeling like anything is too much of a hassle. There are also special enemies that allow for quick grinding as well as quick farming of money. In general, the game does a really good job of making sure that the grind is never unbearable or inconsiderate of your time.

Cons:

1. This is the fourth game in a series the West has never seen any other title for, and from the looks of it, will probably never see any other titles for. Because of that, there are some elements that may seem confusing or revelations in the plot that may seem to come out of nowhere.

2. While the visuals are great, the OST of this one is pretty short making for a lot of reused soundtracks that can get really annoying if you're like me and need your audio to be interesting or consistent so it doesn't distract you too much.

3. This one isn't really a con but it is divisive: This game gets pretty difficult at times. A few of the main dragon enemies including and especially the final boss can give you a serious run for your money in the annoy-o-meter in terms of the kind of absolute JRPG fuckery they can pull out of their magic bag of bullshit movesets and while I generally enjoy that kind of thing, I know it's not for everyone. Most regular combat shouldn't be too tricky once you have a team comp that works well together but you also need to pay attention since the same team that carries you to victory one time might be worth beans against another dragon.

Final thoughts: This is... a really good game. Interesting story, really interesting characters, pretty world and a battle system that really makes you sit down and think. There's also a demo for this available in the e-shop and while your data doesn't carry over - you do receive multiple perks for carrying over your demo data including some exclusive items that, while not game breaking, do help a ton in the early stages of the game.

This isn't a final list by any stretch of the word; I only have the energy to do these two right now, but the next games up for coverage are Ever Oasis and Stella Glow! Anime recs (some of my personal faves, not the public opinion, obviously):

About sports:

-Haikyuu (I am caught all the way up to season 4 and I have never been more passionate about volleyball in my life, not even when I played it)

-Run the Wind (it's about running but also...friendship? and motivation to follow your dreams?? I mostly just recall relating to some of the lazier characters and sensing the brotherhood vibes. It feels slow at first, but if you get invested you realize that you've binged the whole thing.)

-Free! & Free! Eternal Summer (you wanna get emotional attached to a bunch of teenage swimmers? I don't know why all these sports animes are about guy groups, but here's one about some divas -I mean swimmers. Quite the lil quaint group of nuggets, I gotta tell ya.)

About magic/supernatural

-Sailor Moon (need I say more? She's our queen and we are never too old to watch her steadily turn from crybaby to warrior of the people. If you know, you know. FIGHTING EVEIL BY MOONLIGHT-!!)

-Avatar: the Last Airbender (technically counts as an anime. Holds my entire childhood, every personality trait I have...for sure came from characters in this show. Iconic. Never loses its charms. Lots of magical realism that is centered on the natural elements of the planet, some spiritualism too. Appa is reason enough to watch this show.)

-Legend of Korra (technically a sequel storyline to Avatar: the Last Airbender, but...it's SO DIFFE R E NT. I was at first put off by my lack of OG characters, but there are so many references embedded in there, and you get to meet everybody's kids and grandkids. Also Korra? The embodiment of female pride and power, nothing will forsake her for long. Kinda STRESSFUL how many obstacles the writers create in a single season...let alone 4.)

-Inuyasha (on oldie but a goodie. Technically the first anime I ever saw...*sigh* ah youth...Anyway, it'sset in feudal Japan, but there's time travel so you won't feel too out of place. There are of course demons and magical priestesses and demon hunters and cranky, frankly exhausted, old women. Has a quality plot line and great characters. There is a new sequel show airing about the future of the characters and their bloodlines, I've only seen an episode or two but the nostalgia alone made me want to weep.)

-Fairy Tail (a CLASSIC. It has magic and dragons and FAERIES and found family and is so loveably chaotic, also: hype af fight scenes)

-Soul Eater (another chaotic group of teens that fight impossible battles, the intro music always hits hard for nO rEASON, a little more blood and angst but not like not enough to cancel out the immense joy/annoyance that is Excalibur)

-Noragami (a new take on the concept of how gods are created, sad boi hours have started, wholesome main characters, the graphics are beautiful, some of the monsters can be a tad creepy - but I'm a wimp so it could just be me)

-Bungou Stray Dogs (I HAVE ADOPTED ATSUSHI. HE IS MY SON NOW, THANK YOU FOR COMING. The art style is one I enjoy, very crisp lines and a good variation in character designs. The protagonist is named Atsushi and he is a golden child who must be protected yet allowed to flourish at all times. There is detective work, some great fights, lots of random character flaws, OH and honey the story line is TWISTY!!)

-My Hero Academia/Boko no Hero Academia (this is the show where my broccoli son goes THROUGH IT literally the WHOLE TIME. A great story of the underdog, and the variety of characters and powers are...*chef's kiss*, makes me want to lowkey live in this universe but the amount of villians... gurl it'stoo much for my weak heart smh)

- Cannon Busters (okay, so I know people have mixed opinions on this one. Lemme say this: the intro and outro SLAP, point blank periodtt. The characters are diverse in color and abilities, it's like wild west meets technofuture meets medieval magic war times. The plotline is very all over the place, but hey it's the journey right. If you don't love SAM and Casey by the end of episode 1 you're doing it wrong.)

-BNA: Brand New Animal (the art style is so freaking cool yet cute we luv to see it. The world building is pretty good, basically it'slike Zootopia, but there are way more issues with this island o animals that have a human form half the time. Our main character is determined and just a tad naive, there is a wolf man with a pet crow and we're all okay with that)

-Sirius the Jaegar (straight up, I have no idea how my sister and I binged the whole show in like 2 days, but we did. Great fight scenes, the is blood but... that's because there are vampire-esque creatures also. The main character's childhood got done dirty, but go off on your origin story I guess.)

About slice of life:

- My Little Monster/Tonari no Kaibustu-kun (a wholesome high school romance with oddballs left and right, but you just wanna root for 'em y'know? A good wind down show. There's a chicken in it.)

- (Kaichou wa) Maid-Sama (an unconventional and lowkey erratic main heroine, the love interest seems weird but you'll adore him by the end, just simple high school shenanigans with ridiculously dramatic conflicts)

Phew, that was kinda long 😓 but those are just some animes that I have watched thoroughly off the top off my head to give you a good variety of options. I was wondering ((you don't have to-and I don't know if you've done so already-))) if you could do some headcanons on what the papas+rat boi- would react to an s/o that is really shy, and soft, but also has really colorful hair((I'm talking 2+ colors ) piercings , and tattoos ((again you don't have to, just thought I might ask-))

Papa Nihil: Nihil has seen his share of different styles. He’s been alive when punk was first conceived, and when club kids ran around. He’s seen it all when it comes to tattoos, piercings, and fashion. But hair has come such a long way when it comes to colors! If you have two or more, Nihil plays with it all the time. He’s just so amazed at what patterns and shades hair dressers can get now-a-days! Nihil likes to ask questions and just feel your hair- watching the colors shift in his fingers. 

Papa I: Appearances, while curious, were never a big factor for him. He’s so used to seeing so many varying fashions, he can never keep up with them. As far as Papa is concerned, it’s just an extension of yourself. However, he is rather amused by it and will tell you so in private. Papa thinks it’s rather ironic yet endearing that you are such a soft spoken and private person… yet you stand out more than anyone. He’d laugh if it got you flustered, and apologized. 

Papa II: Your shyness versus your appearance is his favorite thing. You’re like his little walking contradiction. Papa likes to subtly poke at you about it, but only in playfulness. He likes to tease you about it in private, but nothing more. Being the sugar daddy he is, he;s more concerned that you get good quality hair salons or tattoo/piercing parlors to do more work on you- should you be inclined. He’d be pissed if someone ruined your hair color or did a crap job on your newest tattoo.  

Papa III: Like his dad, he ends up fixated on your hair. Especially if you are the type to change the color often. He LOVES it so much, and thinks it’s the most amazing thing. Papa sometimes begs to let him chose your next colors or style. He’s also a sucker for piercings and tattoos because they are like mini works of art. Each are always so different and unique. Sometimes, if you are comfortable, he likes to play with your piercings gently. Papa also lightly teases you for being so shy. He likens you to an anxious peacock. Beautiful and stand out, but so soft and easily skittish. He teases with love, though. 

Cardinal Copia: He likes to ask about your tattoo meanings, funnily enough. He’s interested in the stories they may or may not have. Copia finds it like a surprise with your hair too! Especially if you change it often. He never knows what to expect with the color! It’s rather cute to him how shy and soft you are. He’s met a lot of people who are as fierce as their appearance. But you are so different. Copia likes that and makes the comment that it’s like you have aposematism.

Dude, moe is so hard to do well. Anyone can draw big ol uguu eyes and a cutesy uwaaAAA! Smile but if you don't know what you're doing, you might just make a cuter than average Ditto. Blobby- but you've got a handle on making your art look cute and then adding your own spin :) the facial detail is a really welcome part!

O-Oh? I guess you do make a point! I always thought I was kinda beneath everyone because I was stuck with a moe art style and it’s hard for me to do horror drawings and more serious stuff because of it… but you know… the two new Higurashi seasons have a moe art style and they still make some scenes terrifying!!
