Made several different batches of... these?? (What do you even call these things) a while ago. Here are some of my favourites

'L lost the battle,but won the war' yeah but do know who lost everything? sachiko and near.

Near first lost his mentor and benefactor. He lost matt and mello arguably the only friends he had and his team. The few he had he lost, At the end of the series he is alone.

And sachiko had it even worse because they were just normal before, she had to watch her young daughter become unable to utter anything, watching her husband die and only for her son to be revealed as the worst mass murderer in history.

In the game of cat and mouse between L and Light, the only people who lost were their families

why do u draw death note characters without ethnic features? U know most of them are Asian right?

that's a rude way to phrase a really interesting and important question lol. but i do actually that's my favorite part :3 i always take note into the different facial and body features each character will have because the feeling of being seen has always been the most important thing to me in art styles.

i know recently i've been focusing more on fluidity and emotion of characters and less-so the shapes of them, so the differences are more subtle than i used to make them because of that, but just because i give them big eyes sometimes doesn't mean i've forgotten they're asian. <3

anyways here's the initial shapes i have for all the main characters because i really adore different facial features they make me really happy :)))

During the yotsuba arc, Light realises he has a big, fat crush on L, and after a week of straight panic and denial, he decides to do something about it. Except he doesn't know what to do about it at all, because how do you date a man as a man??? So he takes a page from Sayu's dramas and his own experience with dating women and decides to court and woo him.

He awkwardly asks Watari to pick up some chocolates for L, who was on day three of no sleep and didn't notice. The next morning, L wakes up to a big heart shaped box of chocolates (Watari doing too much) from Light who is about to combust from embarrassment because he just KNOWS that L is going to make fun of him.

Except, L just slowly goes pink and looks at Light with a tiny little smile and quietly says thank you.

Confused but emboldened by the response, Light devotes his time to acts of service for L, like pulling out his chair to sit, gifting him flowers for his desk, holding the door, and opening things for him. L seems to love it, and it evolves to Light washing his hair in the shower, very shyly calling him beautiful, and carrying him to their room after the day.

Light can't tell if L just likes this or is completely fucking with him, giving him sweet little smiles and batting his eyelashes, but decides to continue since it can't be hurting his Kira percentage.

Meanwhile, L is loving being taken care of as well as confusing the hell out of Light because this is, in fact, his love language, but he's not gonna let Light get too comfortable. (He's also never had romantic attention like this and very much wants to enjoy it)

More people need to know about Light and Dark the Adventures of Dark Yagami, aka the Death Note version of My Immortal, like here’s the glory that appears in that fic:

Dark Yagami has a special death note that kills everyone’s whose name is in it even if you don’t know their face…or name. Somehow.

The Shinigami of Dark’s death note is named Blud and always eats blood bananas

L uses a Death Note to possess Light’s mom and speak through her to threaten Light and Dark.

There’s an Everything Note. In fact, there are lots of different “notes” (Life Note, Reset Note, etc) but the funniest would have to be…

There’s an Anti Life Note that they use to kill Near so he can’t be Life Noted back to life. He’s inexplicably back chapters later anyway.

Near has a nerf gun that shoots with real bullets

Mikami tells L and Soichiro that Kira is “Light Yaga…” then dies (because Light used his Death Note on him of course) and L and Soichiro are STILL clueless on who it is.

Dark’s death note can kill people in the past and they use that to retroactively kill Matt the day before to stop him from stealing a death note

The author thinks Higuchi’s name is Yotsuba

L’s long lost dad uses a “Secret Death Note” (because the author thinks Death Note radars are a thing and he doesn’t want to be caught) to try to kill him, which he got by sacrificing Matt (yeah he came back) in a volcano.

Since they know a Death Note was used but don’t know who did it other than it was a father, they arrest every father in the world to track him down.

Watari is a the biggest, bloodiest British stereotype ever. And becomes Queen of England at some point.
