#(as the existence of that on the puppet implies that someone had to design and manufacture and ship that shit for the finished iterator)

Occasionally we debate on illustrating random bits from our Discord PMs that we find really funny but then we remember that we're, like, the physical embodiment of the "ace that makes sex jokes" stereotype and phrases like "iterator dick discourse" would both be remarkably difficult to illustrate and probably require us drawing something at least somewhat NSFW (we do not particularly care to learn how to draw this)
#we speak#realistically it would just require more specific tinkering w what we choose to include but we still think the dickscourse is funny#it's the image of a bunch of ancient monks gathering around to very seriously debate decisions with the upcoming iterator project#and then the whiteboard is just like. “ITERATORS: dick or no?”#(vital context: we got hung up on the semantics of people giving their iterators actual genitals in smut)#(as the existence of that on the puppet implies that someone had to design and manufacture and ship that shit for the finished iterator)#(and the general aura of the ancients instantly catapults this to fucking hilarious because it implies job titles like “dick director”)#(and work emails about iterator pipe written in the exact same cadence as all of the ancient correspondence we see in-game)#we dont think a lot of people designing iterators really Get the sheer amount of semantics and construction and effort and PEOPLE#that go into a project of the iterator's scale#especially when hundreds of them have been constructed! theres gonna be a whole ass trail of design changes and iterations!#youre gonna have hundreds of years of iterators being designed and technology coming into fashion and out of fashion#and things being integrated and things becoming obsolete and things being more or less practical as time goes on!#you cant really say that All Iterators have a trait because the sheer scale and timeframe theyre built on means thats near impossible#our windows 95 writing computer has different construction and deeply different design to a laptop from 2023#despite them technically being the same type of technology#you expect tech developed hundreds of years apart to be The Same? absolutely not. theres gonna be eight trillion weird design quirks#accumulated both in the construction process and in the continued design refinement and improvement stage#...which is to say that you can and should write what u want but if youre gonna include pleasure inducing wires then we want like#a 40k word essay on how this got into the design how it wound up in future designs what function the wires perform that makes them Like Tha#and so on and so forth#we admire the confidence and ingenuity of the people who want to fuck the robots but we cannot get into their fantasies with good conscienc#we live in the same house as an engineer who manages largescale construction and we also know too much about designing technology#...we should segment these tags into a separate post or something. we've gone WAY off-topic.

I've been griping about the normalization of identity outing via social media for a while now. To put it simply, it's become almost some weird societal requirement that if you don't have every detail listed about yourself in your Twitter/FB/etc. bio, then it means you have "something to hide" or that you're not as "verifiable" because your account looks indistinct from that of a bot.
But that societal norm has really only benefited the people who profit off of that information in some way, whether it's through selling user data or through weaponizing details about a person against them.
I know that a lot of us love to use the fun little labels and acronyms in our bio that help others like us identify us as a 'safe person' or as someone who's in the same social/racial/identity groups as them. We're humans, we love to categorize things, it's in our nature (and it's fun!)
But if there's any time to start regulating that habit and challenging the norm that you're obligated to include all your personal info online - it's now.
There was a time when sock puppet accounts were expected and typical, not "suspicious".
There was a time when even age-sex-location was considered "too much information", but once it became the norm, we only EVER gave our personal information beyond generic ASL to people who we knew both online and in real life, or at the very least, people who we had known online for a significant enough amount of time that they had proved to be trustworthy (and even then, we didn't owe that information to anyone, ever; there are forum friends who I made online 10+ years ago and still talk to who do not know my personal information beyond broad strokes).
There was a time when simply being an avatar with a funny username was enough. And it still is enough, but massive platforms like Facebook and Twitter have been brainwashing us for years to believe that's not the case, under the guise of, "You wouldn't want to be dishonest, would you?" Through these same norms, we were led to believe that anime profile pictures are cringe, that having a fake online name is stupid, that the photos of you having fun at social events have to be taken JUST right otherwise you might imply to others that you're not actually having fun.
And considering how long these platforms have been around now, we have entire generations of children now who have been born and raised on that version of the ZuckMusk web, who have been taught that it "protects them" to express to everyone publicly their age, their school, their workplace, their family members, everything about themselves, because to not do so would be disingenuous.
None of this is to imply that the Internet was "safer" back in the day. I definitely should not have been on the Internet as much as I was when I was 13 in the late 2000's, it definitely did not benefit my brain development or my social skills. But the version of the Internet we currently exist in now is one that's been predicated on the false sense of security - the belief that if you're honest, everyone else has to be, too.
We've always had ways of identifying our safe people - by participating in the communities that we know are designed around our hobbies, our interests, our people. They might be small, they might not be as "cool" as the idea of netting yourself a big following of thousands of people, but they're also a lot safer and more genuine than that idealized following ever could be.
Don't feel pressured to include every bit of information about yourself in your bio. Even on Facebook, there's no rule that says you have to list your workplace, your school, your family members. There's no rule that says you have to list your personality type, queer labels, and neurodivergent disorders in your Twitter bio. There's no rule that you have to "prove" your life is real and fulfilled through the verification of photos, location tagging, and open-book sharing. If you share those photos, it should be because you genuinely want to share them, not because you feel some societal pressure to live up to others' expectations.
And I guarantee you, even your local mutuals on Facebook - your former classmates, family friends, distant relatives, coworkers, etc. - do not actually give that much of a damn about your personal life that they should be owed that much of a look into it on a daily basis. They've got their own shit going on, they literally do not need to know every detail about you.
I know it sounds scary. It also sounds kind of boring, when we've been used to a certain "way" of browsing and participating for years, that if we don't do so, it feels like being in the "out group" and that we're "breaking the rules". But I promise you, after spending over half my life online, those rules do not exist or benefit anyone who wouldn't profit off that information.
If you're wanting to learn how to branch off from major platforms like Facebook and Twitter and/or become more self-sufficient online, here are some guides to navigating the Internet like an old schooler that may help you!
FREE SITE BUILDER:
DIGITAL PIRACY 101:
(also in addition to everything mentioned here ^^^ they neglect to also mention Tor Browser which is a light and free-to-use browser software that allows you to browse anonymously; note that it's similar to a VPN in that it helps hide your identity online, HOWEVER it won't mask you from your ISP quite as effectively as a VPN, and if you sign into personal accounts with Tor, that's still going to obviously out you online lmao but I love using Tor for the odd time when I need to make a sock puppet for something and don't want it linked to my IP! and unlike a VPN, it's free to use!)
LEARN HOW TO USE RSS FEEDS:
People still use these! They're especially helpful for getting updates from your favorite pages and sites directly to your browser WITHOUT having to worry about stupid algorithm bullshit picking and choosing what you see. And many sites DO have RSS support once you know how to find it! (like adding in /rss at the end of a URL! Like this!)
FAKE EMAIL SERVICES:
LEARN HOW TO CODE IN HTML/CSS/JAVASCRIPT (AND MORE!):
DECENTRALIZED SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:
I hope this helps arm you with some new knowledge in how to navigate the Internet like a Certified Old Person™️(like meeee!) Make your secret alt blogs for besties! Make your formal Facebook accounts that are clean of personal information and present the most neutral, safe-for-work version of yourself and keep the fun stuff to the secret profiles and chat groups that are just for you and friends/family/etc!! It might be "inconvenient" to have multiple accounts for the same purpose, but it's also INCREDIBLY freeing and can make your online experience both safer and more enjoyable.
Tumblr media
Being "less" of yourself online does not make you any less you. It is your identity - you do not owe any amount of it to anyone beyond yourself. And in times like these, your identity is your greatest asset. Protect it.

luna, thanks for breaking down the character differences between vanilla and downpour because I'm too much of an illiterate gremlin to discern those nuances, it is much appreciated!
may I ask if there's anything from the officially published fanfiction that you did like on its own merits?
I'm assuming you're asking about characterization and narrative, instead of gameplay / world design, so I'll focus on that. on a meta level, I love the fact that downpour exists as officially published fanfiction / an official AU. It's really inspirational tbh, and it makes me feel better about making fanworks
for actual game stuff , I'll start with Spearmaster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like that SRS forms an attachment to their messenger, especially since they initially seemed repulsed by it. It's more interesting that they didn't immediately bond, as it creates some internal conflicts (guilt) within SRS. I also like that NSH warns them not to get too attached before it returns; it's a reasonable suggestion and may be influenced by their current loss. (of LTTM)
I could nitpick a lot here but I'm going to try and omit that for the sake of brevity and efficiency. (general statement about the ramble)
Tumblr media
I like that NSH gets upset and stops talking to SRS for a little while, and that SRS becomes a bit desperate and anxious. It humanizes both of them. I also like that NSH says something irrational and emotional about suns sending their messenger to the wrong person, and that they immediately reflect and retract their statement. They seem emotionally mature here. I also like that SRS's question (would that have helped?) can be interpreted in multiple ways; perhaps it's a genuine inquiry out of desperation, or perhaps it's a more snide remark to ground their friend. Perhaps both. It's neat, I think.
Tumblr media
I like NSH's broadcast to FP. I think the wording could be stronger, but it's still convincing to me. I can feel the emotion here. I can hear NSH's voice as he speaks these words in his mind. And I like that NSH asks FP to reflect upon his actions, rather than insulting him or threatening him. Again, you can interpret in multiple ways, and it serves multiple purposes. Self-reflection seems to be a weak point for DP Pebbles, especially with all of the shame. So, this remark serves as Genuine Advice, but it can also serve as... a Curse of sorts? Foreshadowing? That he must overcome this weakness of his, and that he cannot run from it forever. yay
Tumblr media
I like Moon's final broadcast. I'm glad she got to have a moment like this, and it's fun to voice this one, too. It's sweet, and it says something about her that she wanted her final broadcast to be uplifting and warm. She wanted people to remember her and smile...
Tumblr media
This broadcast between SI and WO may actually be my favorite, though. (of sm broadcasts I mean) I'm a huge bennie (ancient) fan, so hearing more about them is awesome. I like that different Cities had different cultures and politics, different rituals and behaviors, and (implied) different "eras" over time... I enjoy that this characterizes the bennies as diverse and fascinating, and that different Iterators had different relationships with their citizens. There's a lot to chew on here without too much to wade through, and I wish we had more broadcasts like these. I love it. <3
Other Spearmaster things I liked:
SOS lizard betting <3
SRS studying sign language to communicate with SM. i dont like the worldbuilding around the mark and the puppet faces here so I didnt include the full screenshot, but I like the idea of SRS trying to establish two-way communication.
NSH purposing a messenger to troll people is fun, even if I'm not fond of the details
TRANSCENDENTAL INVERSION! is a fun phrase; I really like it lol
Artificer:
Tumblr media
this one white pearl
Rivulet:
I like the mass rarefaction cell. I like the heart symbolism around it a lot; as someone with heart issues, it makes me happy to relate to a fictional character with them, even abstractly.
I like how it ties things into a neat little ring; FP kills moon, but he also gives her life. It's very powerful, at least conceptually. I just wish that when he gave her his physical heart, he gave her his metaphorical heart alongside it. She just wanted to speak with him one last time, and it sucks that's unfulfilled. But I appreciate the potential, at least. And I do love a reconciliation. I'm glad they made up.
also mass rarefaction cells are fun and useful! gotten a lot out of them, I think! yay.
I also like some of moon's dialogue in riv campaign and that she checks her unread messages.
Saint:
There's not really much to talk about here, but I like some of the Echo dialogues quite a bit. I also like the dialogues in Rubicon but I don't feel like getting another screenshot
Tumblr media
Two Sprouts, Twelve Brackets remains the goat forever.
Tumblr media
I have a particular fondness for Eight Spots on a Blind Eye, as well. Probably because I voiced these lines, haha. But I think it's cute for someone to acknowledge your enthusiasm for exploration, and I like how sweet they are. yay

I am a “Gregory was never involved with Ruin” truther to be completely honest.
He wasn’t the one who sent Cassie the distress call message in the first place. He’s been missing for a while from what the missing posters of him imply and just how destroyed the Pizzaplex is. Considering he almost certainly went missing in whatever shut down the Pizzaplex, and just how thoroughly destroyed and graffitied the building is and how much worse the animatronics have gotten in condition.
And to be perfectly blunt I don’t think it’d be possible for him to be the one contacting Cassie in any of the endings, on the radio or in the elevator.
Radios don’t work underground unless it’s from very short range because rock blocks radio waves. So who ever was talking to her over the radio always had to be pretty close by in order for her walky-talky to be able to receive the signal.
And when “the real Gregory” starts talking the first thing he says is that he’s not in the building, but that message itself is coming from the walky-talky. Basically contradicting itself. That can’t be the real Gregory on the radio if he isn’t close by, because radios have basically no range while underground. Because it also insists that “Gregory” isn’t in the building, and hasn’t been there all night.
Not to mention "Gregory” somehow being able to track where Cassie is and direct her when he’s not in the building. Implying he somehow managed to remotely hack into the Pizzaplex’s systems, in order to get access to the cameras to see where Cassie is.
I 100% think someone other than Gregory dropped the elevator, because it just flat out doesn’t make sense for Gregory to have done it. Or have the ability to do it from outside the Pizzaplex
My current running theory is that this was all planned out by either the Mimic, GlitchTrap, and/or BurnTrap, depending on if they’re connected or flat out the same entity. In order to try and turn Cassie into the new Vanny.
I am just going to treat them all like the same thing, and call them MimicTrap, because even if they aren’t the exact same thing, I still think they’re all rooted in the same goal of being the new William Afton.
You see MimicTrap’s last successful minion, Vanessa, got deprogrammed and freed by Gregory, meaning the eternal work of Afton killing children in Pizza restaurants could no longer continue.
And that’s not something MimicTrap is alright with no matter what exactly the basis and context of his existence is. Afton’s digitized ghost returned from hell by way of Fazbear Ent’s penny pinching, a Mimic program that inadvertently got trained up on Afton’s serial killing ways either by observing Afton directly, or the Mimic getting fed information about Afton’s crimes by Fazbear Ent in order to create Help Wanted.
All of that is irrelevant to what the thing’s goal is: Continue William Afton’s serial killing legacy, which is easiest to do with a human puppet to do so.
Animatronics are big, clunky, obvious, and only permitted to be in specific locations, humans don’t have those kinds of draw backs. Humans blend in with the populous, and roam free without restrictions be they mechanical or by human expectation.
[Animatronics can’t leave their designated pizzerias, that would weird out and alert everyone that something weird was going on.]
Now why would MimicTrap choose Cassie as his new minion/victim? Because she’s the ideal new Vanny.
She’s familiar with FazTech and the Pizzaplex due to her dad working as a technician there, and Cassie herself spending a lot of time there. Cassie was a daycare kid, and had her previous birthday party there.
Cassie is a lonely but loyal child who’s only [human] friend, who MimicTrap has accumulated enough data to convincingly replicate, has gone missing. So MimicTrap has something to lure Cassie deep into the Pizzaplex with, it has leverage.
[Just like the Fruity Maze girl and her dog, he’s using a child’s close attachment to something to lure them away to a secluded location, by pretending to be the child’s friend.]
So she has skills/knowledge that would be useful for MimicTrap’s minion/puppet to have (being able to mess with/manipulate the Animations just like how Vanessa herself could).
MimicTrap also has something that he can use to lure her into position, and leverage against her in order to get himself free. Along with trick her into interfacing with the V.A.N.N.I. mask and get her the ocular implant that ties her directly into the network.
Gregory, or at least the promise of rescuing Gregory. Cassie’s only human friend, who is, as far as she knows, missing.
All that to say, I think MimicTrap faked “the Real Gregory” betraying Cassie at the end of the game, in order to get Cassie to hate Gregory or at least not trust him any more. Meaning that if Cassie ever encountered Gregory again after this, which is pretty likely if he’s still running around with Freddy’s head, Vanessa, and looking into Fazbear stuff, she wouldn’t trust him.
She wouldn’t trust the only person, to have ever gotten one over, on any form of William Afton, and Survived. The one who escaped, the one who took out the corrupted animatronics, the one who freed MimicTrap’s previous minion and shut down it’s hunting grounds for who knows how long.
This combined with Cassie’s attachment to Roxy, who already hates Gregory for taking her eyes and wrecking the Pizzaplex, means she almost certainly wouldn’t believe anything Gregory said or tried to do to help free her in the event of them meeting again.
Which also plays into MimicTrap’s plans, which I think changed when Roxy intervened. Originally I think MimicTrap was just going to go fully Vanny on Cassie and just take over her brain/body the way he did Vanessa by using the V.A.N.N.I. mask. This changed when Roxy tried to fight the endo MimicTrap was inhabiting.
This girl had Roxy’s loyalty, even after she’d shut the animatronic down. And MimicTrap had already altered Roxy (and the other animatronics) programming once, back when he had Vanny under his thrall. Now that he was free and had access to the network once more, and was no longer being stone walled by M.X.E.S. he could do so again.
So what does he do? He ensures she’s trapped in the Pizzaplex with him and Roxy, while also ensuring to poison Cassie’s friendship and bond with Gregory.
Roxy becomes the good guy by being her only remaining friend and “protecting her” from MimicTrap (who’s not trying to attack her anymore), along with affirming her new hatred/dislike of Gregory. MimicTrap starts slyly altering Roxy’s code and Cassie’s perception of reality via the V.A.N.N.I. mask to mold her into his new minion, and Cassie falls even deeper down the rabbit hole.
So yeah those are my thoughts.

HEY WANT MY CURRENT HCS-UNTIL-PROVEN-WRONG/ “THEORY” IN THE SENSE OF “Source: It would be dope?”/ MESSY MAD RAMBLINGS RELATED TO MURDER DRONES?
TOO BAD YOU’RE GETTING IT ANYWAYS
(Btw this is like. Mostly based on other people’s theories and stuff- also this is going to be basically the opposite of something polished and readable? Think of this less as “prediction looking to be accurate or logical” more “these thoughts have been rattling around in my head and I want to unleash them”)
I Feel like given Liam’s previous stuff like Internecion cube, there’s a damn good chance Absolute Solver is basically an Eldritch entity, be it some kind of super-ai that spiralled past any of the designers wildest intentions to the point of basically becoming a god, or possibly the other way around with JcJenson maybe having done a “humans gonna human” in deciding to mess with the forces Beyond Human Understanding, then try to sell it/utilize it in making stuff to sell (IE using some kind of “entity of growth” to make a repair program that. Seemed like a good idea at the time). Either way, As someone who likes that freaky kinda cosmic horror bodyhorror entity stuff, I’m down for it-
Honestly, I think I kinda like the idea of Absolute Solver not being spread from the Disassembly Drones, but rather the other way around, with them having it loaded but mostly disabled outside of regenerative capabilities specifically to protect them from the Worker Drones from using it (directly) on them (granted as V learned rather painfully, this does not exclude them from throwing various pointy objects at you, it just keeps them from pulling that *snaps your head backwards and crushes you into blood* thing Doll pulled)??
Somehow, with its dialogue implying it knows something bigger about Uzi’s Mom/the world as a whole with its “cute little puppets” comments, J’s specific wording of telling N “the worker drones are corrupted” (which. Granted could’ve also been talking about them being deemed “Rogue AI”, but still-), the strange organic elements and extreme power associated with it? (Which. If the DDs are built with containing a neutralized version version of it in mind. Is this connected to the fact they have literal human organs stuffed inside them??)- this doesn’t feel like a tool. This feels like some underlying element at play, and probably one of the main suspects explained so far that could either be A) something that’s strong enough to make Copper 9’s core collapse, B) could be something that would want and have the power to collapse the core of a planet, and/or C) could be a reason why something/someone may have considered it worth wiping out humanity just to try to kill it
As for where it came from in the first place/how it spread- again, maybe the humans dug too deep, accidentally released something but only realized it was a problem later or. Hell, maybe part of it was that the WDs did some digging/experimenting of their own on top of it- we know that two of the main AS-related characters other than the DDs, Doll and Uzi, both have a running theme of nametags/ associated numbers with their mothers, plus the fact that robot babies exist as is in the first place is confirmation they have been trying new things on themselves already
If WD experimentation with AS started before the Murder Drones Arrived/the possibility of it was present- Given the extreme power of AS we’ve seen, it could be possible that the drones starting to unlock this power could be a reason other than paranoia that JcJenson considered it worth the time to exterminate them (though. TBF I I think they might just be callous jerks anyways, semi-reasonable underlying logic or not-)
If experimentation with AS started/continued after the Disassembly Drones arrived- Judging from the fact that Khan already had a closet labelled “Nori’s Kooky Insane Stuff”, iiits possible Uzi might take after her mother in terms of “maniacal engineer”-ness… who’s to say Nori didn’t decide to pull some Sci-fi bullshit of her own of a more “human experimentation” direction? Like. Hell, Uzi made a huge frickin’ gun as her “maniacal engineering” moment- If the parents help construct the baby, technically Nori also built a gun-
Sidenote- like. It might just be a “make the MC more visible” thing, but- as someone else already pointed out, it would be interesting if it turned out the reason why Uzi was short and didn’t have a hard hat was related to her not being a normal Worker Drone/in some way built to have some kind of adjustment made with this element present in mind, something the AS may or may not already know while Uzi doesn’t (there would be a lot of horror to be found in that idea… and also maybe a little dark-humor? In a “ARE YOU KIDDING?! THAT’S WHY I’M SO SHORT??!” Way?)
So- maybe the experiment was what introduced it into Doll and Uzi/their mothers? That is, if it isn’t already present on some level in all the drones as is and the experimentation only brought the existing potential to the surface- imagine finding out everyone was born pre-infected with some crazy eldritch horror woven into their brains, and that what at first appeared to some spreading parasite was simply some people being able to tap into what’s already present in everyone one way or the other…
CONCLUSION?!
…I’m running out of red string and pushpins :|
(but I do have some potential AU fodder maybe should Episode 4 come out and completely change everything maybe?)
TL;DR: talk to me about Murderdrones I am sooooo normal I promise :) <- Lying

We aren't the sexist ones. Edelstands are, and we can't let them run this stupid narrative of lies. We know Edelgard was written for men, by men, to be bought by men. Her fans like her because she's cute, okay, they pretend to be progressive or agree with her is just adhoc excuses to justify them liking the small uwu girl who's afraid of rats, draws pictures of MALE Byleth, and is just a pawn of Thales, a MAN. They're misogynists for hating Rhea a woman with actual autonomy unlike their waifu.
Eh,
I wouldn't call people misogynists for not liking a female character, but I remember someone received a lot of flak earlier this year (... I think?) posting about Supreme Leader's fate in AG and ending with Supreme Puppet, and, well...
I also really don't like it when a character I like is only seen as waifu-material/fanservice by the devs or the company who makes games and merchandising involving said character - and if everyone was hit with the moe hammer and the "u must luf the self-insert" rule, Supreme Leader as a character is a basic example of what not to do.
We're told and we saw a character who is hell-bent on following her path, always moving forwards, no matter the consequences, to reach her goal -
But in Tru Piss, she put her war on hold because "she was so sad uwu when u disappeared :'("
And that thing only exists in this route, the route you can access if you already have a certain fondness (or are supposed to!) for the character. It's like we have two Supreme Leaders, one existing for Fodlan and the rest of the verse, the Red Emperor with earl grey ; and the one meant for the player, with the uwu rat scene, the drawings, the war on hold, etc etc. And as annoying as it is, the Fodlan games were designed around this, what if the Red Emperor was the waifu du jour, rather, waifu of the verse?
The Cipher cards already heavily implied what Supreme Leader was, for IS, we have the nightgown card and the naked Supreme Leader in the Hegemon card, and I've been looking carefuly at FE Cipher, I don't see anything remotely similar for the other characters from the same verse...
And then, we have Nopes, Supreme Leader ditches her commanding and badass imperial clothes and garb for a sailor fuku. We have a panty shot of Supreme Puppet in AG's finale - on top of all the implications Supreme Leader reverting to a 12 years old imply.
As annoying as it is, Supreme Leader seems to have been designed by the guy who invented "Cow-milla", and I understand some of her fans being pissed at how IS/KT/whoever else wasted her character to make her pander to the player - who is always assumed to be male - however, the double standard of some devoted fans is kind of jarring, but it's something to be expected now, nearly 4 years after this game's release.
I still find it ultra ironic how some of the most ardent defenders of the "she was manipulated by Uncle who fed her lies etc etc had to start her war etc etc" reject AG because it removes her agency, when they eluded it in earlier fandom discussions to make a general point about "my fave would never" -
But I already said something about double standard lol

No offense but do you have a life other than the sims paywall issue? Any friends maybe other than other haters ? Really so weird spending all your life on this. Looks miserable.
You wanna know what's actually miserable? - Doxxing people who pay you for content - Content that you didn't actually make, but stole/bought from 3D modelers and claim you made - Tracking your patreons emails and names and sharing that info with third parties - Creating/buying tons of sock puppet and shell accounts on tumblr to harrass people who call you out on this behavior - Using said sock puppets to make comments about people's personal appearence, and to make negative comments about people's mental health in order to drive them to hurt themselves - Being transphobic in reddit comments and in posts by implying a trans-man doesn't "actually exist" - Contacting people's jobs 4x with bogus claims because your feelings got hurt that they called you out on your shit on the internet - Getting your "friends" to make false claims about death threats and then fake screenshots to try to make the other side look bad - Purposefully joining piracy groups in order to dig up "dirt" on the members and or doxx them and release screenshots if they betray you - Threatening leakers by saying "next time they die" - Using the brand names, logos, and designs of real companies without their permission - Stealing the propritary designs of small family owned businesses and making 3D models of those designs so you can profit off them on patreon - Publicly doxxing someone who called you out and encouraging people to harrass her and contact her work -Deadnaming a trans person and threatening them - Ruining the reputation of a big custom content creator simply because she's friends with one of your detractors by releasing fake screenshots and getting sock puppets to claim she's involved - Sending hateful asks/anons to friends of those who are accusing you to try to get them to turn on your accusers, putting them through mental and emotional anguish. DID I FUCKING MISS ANYTHING? I'M SURE I DID. SIMBLR HELP ME OUT. :) Fun fact, for me, staying in and researching and doing stuff like this relaxes me. I actually had a full day of work today and my "wind down" process is to get on tumblr. Now it's obvious you're a sock, so I'm saying this more for the benefit of others: YOU DO NOT GET TO TELL OTHERS HOW TO USE THEIR FREE TIME UNLESS THAT FREE TIME IS DIRECTLY HURTING YOU, SOMEONE ELSE, OR SOCIETY. And frankly, I doubt me trying to get justice for my friend (who these bullies are REALLY trying to make hurt themselves) falls into that category. So fuck off.

That new Disney+ Pinoccio is uh... It's... Hey, did Robert Zemeckis suffer a recent head injury, by any chance?
Ugly-ass, nightmare cgi character design of Jiminy & Cleo is like if the 2014 TMNT movie and Shark Tale somehow had unholy offspring
Jiminy opens the story arguing with... himself like in some old 1998 fanfic dot net author's notes
"Why does Jiminy sound both familiar and wrong?" It's JGL. Wtf. Someone cast Jiggle to do a fake southern(?) accent in falsetto when both Jack McBrayer and Leslie Jordan exist.
It's heavily implied Pinocchio is meant to replace or be a reincarnation of Gepetto's dead son that he mourns while making doppelganger puppets of and talk-singing. "Is this backstory important or add a new emotional dilemma worth not keeping Gepetto just a lonely, childless man," you ask? No. No.
This editing (or lack of) seems like both editors preferred to disassociate instead of focusing on this job
Istg I thought they straight up killed Gideon the cat. Tongue lolled out and no comedic twitching. Dude was dead still. Distressing.
Lotta choices for characters to scream/cry "no" with the emotional power of the actor doing a rehearsal line read and the animation doing (°_°)
That thick, faux-Brooklyn accented boy was a choice
Gonna need the person who wrote the new song with the lyric "real girls always want the real boys more" to be sung by a cart-full of little girls to be put on a list, please
"Remember when cartoon kids turning into donkeys was scarier than the biggest horror movie franchises? Hold my beer."
Pinocchio looking at kids just breaking clocks for fun as if he's watching them cannibalizing babies
Oh okay, we're rightfully shocked by donkey kids but not THE GLOWY-EYED SMOKE MONSTERS KIDNAPPING THEM ALL? THERE'S NO EXPLANATION?? HELP!
The Kung Pow-esque way Pinocchio waterskis across the ocean to Gepetto for like 5 full minutes, having a full conversation, but never gets visually closer
Guess giant sperm whales aren't scary enough anymore; ya gotta make some octo-whale to keep the kids interested. As if any whale with teeth stops being terrifying.
Can this Pinocchio rip off Tangled even if they're by the same studio? No inappropriate "a real boy would know cpr" joke?
"Did he turn into a real boy? Who knows!" You...YOU SHOULD KNOW; YOU'RE THE ONE TELLING THE STORY, JIMINY! YOU WERE THERE! WE WATCHED YOU ARGUE WITH YOURSELF ABOUT THIS! WHAT??

So I have been binging through your posts and I am loving all of the analysis on ML. I read another blog that did analysis on Luka and Kagami as Love Rivals, how they held up and how the fandom treated them. I wanted to get your takes on how they hold up in a meta perspective (If that made sense)
Tumblr media
I’m guessing you're asking for my storytelling analysis of Kagami's and Luka's respective roles as rivals. I have a bigger analysis on the Marinette & Kagami arc coming up (and I do mean BIG), but I wasn't planning on covering this angle in it, so I might as well.
Okay, so, first off we'll need to define what a rival should be. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, "rival" can mean "someone striving to reach or obtain something that only one can possess", "striving for competitive advantage", "companion/associate" (this one is out of use) or "equal/peer". This is actually very close to what a rival in a narrative context also means. A narrative rival should be a threat to their counterpart in some skill or pursuit, they must want the same thing. A narrative rival should have some kind of association with their counterpart, they need to be connected and have a reason to become rivals. A narrative rival should be their counterpart's foil, meaning they must be equals in some ways.
Since the show introduces Kagami first, let's start with her. The interesting thing about Kagami is that she starts as Adrien's rival. She wants a spot on D'Argencourt's fencing team, something she can only obtain by defeating Adrien. She also wants to prove she's the best fencer by defeating Paris' best fencers, including Adrien. So, there's the goal that puts her directly in opposition with Adrien specifically. The association between Kagami and Adrien comes from wanting to have (and later having) the same fencing teacher.
They're foils because they have very similar family backgrounds, they're children of a workaholic single parent who restricts all of their activities. However, while Kagami's outward appearance is harsh and cold, Adrien's is soft and warm, Adrien has also already started breaking out of his father's control by the time he meets Kagami.
But Kagami's ultimate role on the show is to be Marinette's rival. Their rivalship launches in 'Frozer', where we get actual confirmation that Kagami is interested in Adrien romantically, just like Marinette is. This is the goal where only one can triumph. Their association is weaker, though, since Marinette and Kagami don't start having any type of shared social circle outside of Adrien. But, once Marinette and Kagami become friends, this friendship becomes their association.
Then comes the foiling. I talked in my episode wrap-up of 'Ikari Gozen' how the color schemes in Marinette and Kagami's designs create both parallels and similarities. However, they have other similarities and contrast points as well. Marinette and Kagami are both anxious in new social relationships and put a lot of effort and planning into impressing someone. We see this in all of Marinette's "win Adrien over" schemes and also in Kagami's approach to befriending Marinette in 'Ikari Gozen'. They're both very talented in their chosen fields and put their all into their pursuits, fashion and fencing respectively.
However, they also have stark differences in their outward emotional appearance, Marinette expresses her in-the-moment emotions with ease, while Kagami struggles with this, saying almost everything with the same severity.  However, they’re opposite in their in-depth emotions, since Marinette can’t make sense of hers (since she doesn’t self-reflect) while Kagami is bold even with those. Marinette has a large circle of friends, while Kagami only had Adrien and didn't even have his phone number for a large part of their acquaintanceship. Marinette has a warm, loving home, while Kagami's probably, like Adrien's, cold and lacking in expressions of love.
Even Ryuko's design is a clear nod to Marinette's with the dominant colors being red and black. While Marinette wasn't an instant expert in her powers, she's an incredibly competent superhero these days, and Kagami matched her in fighting ability as well as the ability to use their respective powers effectively. However, while Ladybug is a planner and approaches most situations with careful deliberation, Ryuko is hasty and reckless, blowing her secret identity immediately.
So, how about Luka, then? Marinette and Luka's relationship is mostly characterized by Luka doing Marinette various favors, so there isn't any rivalry going on there, but there doesn't have to be, since he's meant to be Adrien's rival, so we'll focus on that instead.
Common pursuit? They both like Marinette but neither of them is actively pursuing her, though, I guess Luka kinda is since he did confess in ‘Silencer’ and has been composing her a song in the season three finale, but outside of a few startled looks in 'Frozer', Adrien doesn't seem to be feeling too challenged, most likely because Marinette isn't something he realizes he wants. In fact, Luka’s involvement seems to be making him less likely to realize any feelings he has for Marinette.
How about music? They play in the same band in completely different, highly vital roles. There's no competition there either, especially since Adrien is a member only part-time. Maybe as superheroes? Adrien wasn't the right guy for the Snake Miraculous in 'Desperada' while Luka was, but his importance as Cat Noir was also emphasized in that episode, so it was more about Marinette's misjudgement than any competing going on between the boys. So there's no actual threat from Luka to Adrien.
Associations? Well, they're both very close friends of Marinette who care about her romantically (either knowingly or not), they play in the same band (Adrien part-time) and they're also friends, considering how Luka was there right next to Nino silently supporting him when they were trying to cheer Adrien up in 'Félix'. I'd say they're pretty strongly associated at this point, even though the show understates it a bit because everything about Luka is presented in a pretty low-key way.
What about foiling? As I covered in my wrap-up of 'Frozer', Luka is basically "Adrien but more readily available to Marinette". They have very similar, outwardly mellow personalities, they're kind and selfless to a fault and they're both musical (though I'm not sure if Marinette had gotten to hear Adrien play before 'Love Hunter'). They’re also both reasonably astute emotionally, although with some weak points (Luka has a hard time holding up a conversation according to ‘Captain Hardrock’ while Adrien can’t read Marinette’s cues).
The contrast comes in how the story seems to be implying that, with Luka, what you see is what you get, while Adrien is actually internally much more of a chaotic goofball and not nearly as put together as it might first seem. Luka can also read Marinette's emotions with ease, since he's constantly turning them into music, while Adrien struggles with them so much he genuinely thought Marinette hated him in 'Puppeteer 2'. Luka and Adrien are also contrasted in their single parents; Gabriel is overly controlling while Anarka seemingly raises her kids in anarchy.
So, to sum up my conclusions:
Kagami's character is very much built around the rival archetype, both in her early relationship with Adrien and in her later relationship with Marinette. She ticks all three boxes for rivalship and is very much a love rival. In fact, she’s enough of a rival for both our main leads!
Luka, however, is missing the first, most primary aspect of being a rival; he doesn't challenge Adrien in any way. As it stands, Luka is Adrien's foil, but not his rival. So he can’t be a love rival. His role is not to challenge anything, but to be The Other Option. More an object of comparison than an actor in the romance drama.
Bonus: so what is Luka? Simply put, Luka exists for Marinette. This is obvious in the way almost everything he does on screen revolves around Marinette in some way. I've so far come up with two theories for what the purpose of Luka's function towards Marinette's character might be.
1) I've previously talked about how Luka is the "easy" alternative to Adrien in my episode wrap-up for 'Silencer'. While it's not Adrien's fault, from Marinette's perspective, he's kind of a hassle to try to get with. His father and busy schedule get in the way of many of Marinette's attempts to win him over, as does Marinette’s own nervousness. However, Luka is already in love with Marinette at first sight, with no effort required from Marinette to win him over, he's always ready to drop everything to do Marinette a favor. The point is that Luka being so similar to Adrien in their best traits while also lacking any of the circumstantial things that make Adrien a "hassle" means that if Marinette rejects Luka for Adrien, we'll know she truly loves Adrien for Adrien, since she could get the same surface-level stuff from Luka more easily but chooses not to.
2) My reverse love square hypothetical post also covered the option that temporarily dating Luka could be a way to break Marinette out of her anxiety when it comes to thinking of Adrien in a romantic way. She's too emotionally invested in Adrien, while not really that  invested in Luka. Luka is so mellow and giving, Marinette can easily date him and then break up with him without hurting him to get over her romance-based anxiety so that she can pursue Adrien anew.

Hell-bound with you
Fandom: Doctor Who
 Pairing: Doctor x Reader
Summary: You are the unwilling companion of the Doctor.
Warning: ooc, plot holes as usual, dark!doctor, insanity, etc. You have been warned.
A/N: I hope this post show up in search result  just fine. The part four of my other fic I posted at the end of last month just won’t show up in any search result, tags not working. I hope this one work okay.
I watched in amusement from my spot as Jack tried to summon the Doctor but failed instead, he kept getting her companion. I couldn't help but laughed at the old man expression when Jack kissed him in the mouth.
I was surprised when the old man, Graham, revealed that the Doctor is now a woman. Jack is giddy with excitement as he wanted to see the Doctor so much. But he kept pulling in the companion instead. Yaz and Ryan.
Eventually Jack realized that the judoon technology is the reason why he can't pull the Doctor to him. Personally, I was grateful that the Doctor is not here. I wouldn't want to catch his - i suppose now - her attention. I admit I am a bit curious about how she looks like. The Doctor's first time as a woman, I wonder how she will act.
My attention snapped back at Jack as he warned the companion about the lone cyberman. It was all very cryptic.
Turned out the companion has never encountered a cyberman before so they understandably are confused.
Both Jack and I had suffered together in the short time since we met and you know what they said about forming a close bond during a life and death situation. It makes us comrade.
Jack knew some stuff about me that I would never tell anyone. I am so grateful that I met him while stranded in this alternate universe.
Of course, it just my bad luck to have landed in a time period where cybermen overrun the world. I was lucky I met Jack. It would take me forever to sort thing out otherwise. I shuddered at the thought of being taken by cybermen for conversion.
I didn't know what to think of the companion because I didn't know of them. I didn't know of the newest incarnation of the Doctor being female either. There were rumor floating around about it but I missed her first season on the account of finding myself suddenly existed within the impossible DW universe.
I hated it. It wasn't fun. And I ended up ruining the Doctor's timeline. I had to run from him when he changed into that monster. Oh, I know he would come looking for me sooner or later. He would never let me go just like that. Misery loves company and all of that. Some part of him did blame me for changing him, I just know it.
But running away and found myself stranded in another DW universe isn’t exactly how I planned my escape. The upside of being here is that I’m finally free of that person.
I heard an amused chuckle within my mind and I frowned. Right, I guess technically I am still haunted by that person. I glared at the bow-tied figure that only I can see, a proof of my insanity. I tried to ignore him and his unwanted commentary on whatever it is Jack and I did.
This particular universe thankfully still follow the canon, I think. I don't know if it will be a blessing or a curse my escape being here, knowing my luck it will ended up as another curse. I do know one thing, this time I have to avoid the Doctor at all cost. It will be hard, I'm sure, as I felt it so many times before back then, someone pulling the string and play on me like a puppet. Of course, no one believe me, not even that person.
I didn't know the future of the Thirteenth Doctor but I will still be a threat to her should she realized what I am. That's what happened with that person. He insisted that I stay with him and everything has gone wrong ever since.
I tried not to think about that person and his now-never-happened future courtesy of me, of my presence, in his life.
  "(Name)?"
I snapped out of my trance as Jack called out to me in concern.
  "Is it him?"
I blinked when I realized I must have been talking out loud and thus gaining Jack and the companion’s attention. "I'm fine."
Jack gave me a look that said he didn't believe my bullshit.
I ignored him. I noticed the companion are staring at me as if I was insane. I held back a frustrated laugh. Well, I am insane, somewhat.
Jack introduced me to them. “This is (Name). She is with me.”
"Is she a friend of the Doctor too?" Graham asked Jack.
  "Well..."
"No." I firmly said as I glared at him in warning. "Oh, just shut up." I glared at an empty space on my left.
The companion stared at me warily.
“err, did she just talk to an empty space?” Ryan asked.
“Yeah, she does that.” Jack replied, not taking his eyes off me.
I tried to focus on Jack and the companion. I rubbed my forehead, feeling a headache forming.
Jack's frowned as he observed me. "She's...complicated." He suddenly yelled in pain as the nano-genes started to attack him. He complained very loudly.
I was worried for him. "It’s time. We should leave here, Jack." I said as I grabbed him. “You already did your part, warning them.”
"You are right but there is...” Jack groaned. “...one more thing, (Name), you are not coming with me."
"What?! What the hell are you talking about?" I punched his arms in annoyance.
Jack rubbed his arms and give me a look. "You should go with them and stay with the Doctor."
I was pissed. I thought he understand. "No. You..."
"I know what you think of her but I still think you would be safer with her than with me. Also, maybe she could help you with him." Jack replied, turning to glance at the space I have been staring at before despite not being able to see what I see.
"Like hell, I'm not going! And you can't make me!" I yelled petulantly.
The companion stood there looking confused at our argument.
Jack let out a sad smile. "I'm sorry, (Name)." He took my hand that is on his arm and let it go.
I blinked in confusion and annoyance. I was momentarily distracted and Jack took that opportunity to activate the vortex manipulator on my person and I suddenly blip out of the ship and found myself on Earth instead.
  7777
I almost lost my balance as I landed harshly. I cursed loudly.
I saw the Doctor's companion materialized not too far from me.
"Son of a..." I growled. "That damn head jar!!" I cursed Jack. "Shut it!" I snapped on the empty space near me.
The companion stared at me warily.
  I groaned in annoyance.
"We should go find the Doctor." Yaz suggested.
"Yeah, you guys go ahead. I'm out of here." I said.
"But I thought that Jack fellow said that you should stay with the Doctor?" Ryan asked.
"Ignore that cheeky bastard's words!" I said and then stopped myself. "Except about the cyberman. That was true. Alright, I'm leaving." I waved at them and left despite their protests.
Screw Jack. He is not the boss of me.
  7777
I walked without a purpose as I ponder over what I have to do next now that Jack has abandoned me. Like hell, I’m sticking around to see the Doctor no matter how curious I am of the female Doctor.
“He’s right, you know, you would be safer if you stay with the other Me.” He said.
I glared at him. “And what? Risking of her turning out like you because of me?”
“I think you give yourself too much credit. I was always going to turn out this way sooner or later. Valeyard, remember?”
“But you are not the Valeyard.”
  “Yet.”
“And that’s what make it worse. I did this to you. I turned you...”
“Victorious. That’s what I am, thanks to you. It wasn’t that bad.” He said with a shrug.
  “You burned down planets!”
“I did that once in a while. You know this." He is referring to Gallifrey. "Besides, you know they deserves it.” He said as a dark expression crossed his features.
“We lost Clara. I wouldn’t call that victorious!!”
  “And we avenged her.”
I was ashamed that it was the truth. I did help him to avenge Clara’s death. In fact, I was the one who urged him to do it because I couldn’t accept her death. They haven’t even done Trenzalore yet. And now they never will. Because of me, Bow-tie won’t even get a new set of regeneration. But considering how he turned out, am I doing the world a favor by limiting his life to his eleventh self? Now he will not get the chance to regenerate into Eyebrow. Or did I just make it worse? Like he implied, he is very well on his way into becoming the Valeyard.
“I am curious about the Doctor of this universe.” Victorious pondered. “I have never regenerated into a woman before. I was on my last regeneration right now."
I tensed at that. I kept reminding myself that the person in front of me is not quite real so even if he did figures out the truth, there is nothing he can do about it. No Clara, no new regeneration. Unless he made me fill her shoes, play her role so to speak on Trenzalore. I hope not. Well, I had escaped him, somewhat.
The real Victorious probably was too busy right now to ponder about the calling of Trenzalore. And knowing him now, he might actually let Trenzalore burns.
I think I bought enough time for myself so it might take him a while to locate me especially since I have a bio-damper ring on my person to hide the void stuff that apparently covered me when I first arrived in DW universe. With the ring, he won't be able to track me down easy. It also help hid my presence from the Doctor of this universe too.
I sighed as I stared at my 'companion', the one only I can see, an accidental result after some weird mind meld with the Doctor.
When I first took a glimpse of him the first time I was stranded in this alternate universe, I thought he was somehow in my head, then I beginning to question my sanity, creating a shadow figure of the Doctor in my headspace. Seemed like I could never be free of the Doctor. Part of me believed I deserved it, to be haunted by the Doctor that I ruined.
Sometimes I really thought he is the Doctor when he suddenly said things that sounded like something the Doctor will says. And then he is being all sarcastic with his unwanted commentary on everything I do and...meh I thought of him as a figment of my imagination designed as my personal demon to torture myself. But, weirdly he does know information that I could not possibly know, things that the Doctor or some other screaming genius might know but not little stupid, ordinary Me. There is no way if he is a hallucination created by me for him to know those complicated stuff. Anyway, thanks to that, Jack trusted me, I did save his life, both our life actually, by following the advice of the shadow Doctor.
Jack believe me albeit a bit reluctantly at first and eventually did trust me enough to watch each other back through hell and back. It was all very dramatic but also rewarding as we formed a friendship. Unfortunately, he's loyal to the Doctor hence he disbelieved me when I said I am bad for the Doctor, he still somewhat believe the Doctor is the answer to fix everything that could go wrong, even though he should know better.
I groaned as I ponder on what to do now. I understand the truth in Jack's words that I might need the Doctor of this universe help should Victorious able to track me down to this universe. But I am also right about my presence around the Doctor never bode well. So you see my dilemma?
Thankfully the Doctor and her companion never look for me. I guess she is not curious enough with me.
Back then as I watched the first two episode of season 6, I found it weird that bow-ties who supposedly adores children, didn't bother to look harder for little Melody Pond after she escaped the astronaut suit. Maybe there is some additional information about it from DW book or the audio-book but I never got my hands on them.
Anyway this is good. It would be troublesome if she did decided to track me down.
  7777
I thought I covered my track very well but the time bounty hunters somehow able to track me down at some black market in some random planet. It was weird but it seemed the Tardis translation circuit still work on me even if I am not anywhere near the Tardis. Or maybe it is thanks to that annoying 'companion' of mine?
I'm following the advice of the shadow Doctor to find an equipment to, as he said he will indulge me for now, hide me better. I used my vortex manipulator given by River a long time ago at the Library. She taught me how to use it so that I won't accidentally kill myself while using it.
Anyway after I purchase the said equipment and before I could use it per the shadow Doctor's instruction, the hunters found me.
Honestly I hope the self defense lesson I got from River and then Jack would be enough to at least help me escape my pursuers. I thought I did good but they still found me.
That's when the shadow Doctor 'helpfully' told me that I had a tracking chip somewhere inside my body courtesy of the real him. That bastard. Putting a tracking chip without my knowledge or permission like I am some freaking pets.
  I glared at him angrily.
He grinned in amusement. "Hey, technically it wasn't me who did it."
  "Close enough..." I muttered.
He told me the equipment I purchase earlier should destroy the chip into dust inside me without harming me in the process. Removing the chip would be better but without the correct equipment and a professional medical knowledge, it would be too dangerous.
But before I could use it, they found me again. I was at some random abandoned building. One of them broke my wrist as I fought him. I screamed in pain.
"Hey, don't hurt her! He won't be pleased!"
"She won't stop struggling! She bites me!"
I groaned in pain as they pushed my whole body on the wet floor.
"She is not to be harmed in any way." Someone said. "The client is very specific about that one. He need her for something. He is willing to pay so much for her."
My eyes widened in fear as I realized they are not planning to take me back to Victorious. That would be even worst. Are their client some enemies of the Doctor who is trying to take me as hostage? Or do they after the knowledge I have of the Doctor? But there is no way someone could know. I was sure Victorious remove all threat on me.
I catches the glimpse of dark expression crossing the shadow Doctor's feature as he too listen to what the men had said.
"Who even is she? Why do they willing to pay so much for her?"
"Don't you know? She's the consort of that guy, the Doctor."
I rolled my eyes in disdain at that misinformation but made no move to correct them. There is no point.
"For real? But she is running from him? Why?"
"Have you been living under a rock? That man has gone insane. Who would in their right mind stay with him?"
"I heard the stories about him."
  "Not stories."
"So, is it wise to betray him like this?"
"You assumed we got the job from him but we didn't. By the time we hand her over to the client and got our money, with this technology to cross over universe..." He glanced at the elaborate vortex manipulator on their wrists which you assumed they got from the said client. "we can make a new life in some other universe. He won't be able to find us."
The shadow Doctor chuckled coldly. "Whoever that client of their is, I know they are not stupid. To go after what is mine, they would have to take care loose end in order to remain undetected from me." He said as he observed the men. "That vortex manipulator probably has an expired date on it and more..."
He turned to look at me, kneeling before me with almost a bored look. "I did warned you that you would have been safer if you stay with the other me."
I glared at him. "Quit talking, do something." I hissed at him.
He smirked. "You didn't say please."
"Who is she talking with?" One of the men asked.
They hauled me up to face them.
"You are not very smart, are you?" I said with a smirk. "He is already here. The Doctor. Or should I say Victorious?"
  They looked around nervously.
I pulled my sonic screwdriver, the one I stole from Victorious, and set out sonic sound, as instructed by him, that momentarily hurt everyone's ears but also caused some old hanging lamp to either explode or fell to the ground, causing chaos.
I ran immediately out of the building. Ignoring the growing pain in my wrist, I yelled at him to tell me how to use the equipment to destroy the chip. I moved the equipment to some spot of my neck and pulled the trigger.
I clamped my mouth as burst of hot fire pain filled me. I gasped as I fell to the ground. Tears filled my eyes. I felt so dizzy.
I distinctly heard him telling me to stay awake and ran. So I did albeit really slow.
Like I said before, someone or something seemed to be pulling the string on me because as I made my weak escape, I found myself face to face with the companion I met with Jack weeks ago and there is a woman with rainbow stripes on her clothing with them. The Doctor, my mind supplied.
  Shit.
"It's you." Ryan whispered, seemingly surprised to see me.
"Doctor, she is the one we told you before. she was with Jack." Yaz explained.
The woman glanced at me in guarded curiosity. She walked toward me and opened her mouth to say something but I fainted right into her arms.
  7777
I woke up inside the Tardis in the medical bay. How did I know that? He told me.
The Doctor, the female one, entered the room and smiled upon seeing that I already wake up.
I no longer feel any pain, not on my broken wrist and on my neck. I assumed she fixed that. And someone changed my wet dirty clothes with something comfortable.
I heard her yapping about the danger I put myself using the equipment she found with me. I didn't listen, still a bit too dizzy.
  "Who are you?"
  "(name)." I replied.
"Ok, (name), I'm the Doctor. My fam said you were with Jack and that he instructed you to stay with me?"
"He was wrong." I said bluntly. I forced myself to get up and stand up despite her protest. "I should leave."
"You can't. We are in the vortex. Also you were hurt. Who hurt you? Also who put a tracking chip inside you? You destroyed the chip using that equipment. Are you running from a prison? Did Jack broke you out of prison?"
I groaned and chuckled harshly. "You talk too much." I said as I clutched my pounding headache. "Prison, huh? I guess you could say that. Oh, shut up." I snapped at my right.
"Who are you talking with?" She observed me curiously. "The fam told me that..."
"I am a bit insane? That would be correct. Better stay away from me, doc." I said in derisive.
  She glanced at me.
"Stop looking at me like that!"
  "Like what?"
"Like I am some animal in a zoo."
  "I am so sorry."
"For what?" I asked in confusion.
"For whoever hurt you like that." She whispered. "Yaz changed your clothes. She said you have scars on your arms, consistent with someone being restrained and being injected and also..."
"Stop." I glared at her menacingly. "That was private. None of your business."
She, thankfully, stopped talking about that topic. But she suddenly pulled my sonic screwdriver. "How did you get this?"
I took a deep breathe trying to calm myself over the fact that she and Yaz invaded my privacy. "It's mine."
  "Not possible." She said firmly.
"Uh-oh, someone in trouble..." I heard him said in a teasing sing-song voice. I glared at him before turning to face her.
"Someone gave it to me." I lied. "Now give that back and let me leave." I demanded.
She shook her head as she took a step back. "Did you steal this?"
"Ding dong, she got it!" The shadow Doctor answered cheerfully much to my annoyance.
Fine, I'm going to give her some shock value. "River gave it to me, satisfied?"
The Doctor look shocked, her mouth dropped open. "You know River? River Song?"
"That was a low blow, (name)." The shadow Doctor whispered at me in disappointment.
"She was my friend." I spat. That wasn't a lie, technically. River was my friend but in the other universe, not in this one. "I'm sure you wouldn't know me, Doctor. She wouldn't talk about her friends with you. Mostly because you would not be interested."
The Doctor observed me, trying to spot the lie. She seemed satisfied to find none. But she is still suspicious though. "Why would she give you this?"
"For my protection. I will only know how to use it whenever I was in danger." That one is not a lie since the shadow Doctor only tell me how to use it whenever I need to escape danger.
She hummed at that, probably wondering if I ever misuse it. She didn't seem to keen of returning it though. At least she didn't confiscate the vortex manipulator.
"Jack vouched for me. Do you think he would send someone not trustworthy to you?" I said. The answer is yes, by the way, because that traitor Jack ignored my warning how I am not good for the Doctor's timeline. If I am to stay with her, predictably things will not be canon again and it will definitely be hell-bound.
The shadow Doctor chuckled at what I said.
  The Doctor didn't say anything.
I raised an eyebrow. "I guess you don't trust Jack or do you only trust him when he is useful to you?" I asked in vicious tone. "Fine, keep the damn sonic screwdriver."
"Oh now you have done it. She is not going to let you leave now." The shadow Doctor helpfully informed. "That is my 'i-don't-trust-this-person-i-need-to-solve-what-she-is-hiding' look." He grinned gleefully.
I almost want to slap the jerk if not for the fact he is not really there so it is kinda pointless.
Resigned to the fact that I am stuck with the new Doctor, I am determined not to let her in my head. A mistake I made with bow-ties which in turn caused him to become Time Lord Victorious.
But I have no idea what the future hold for this version of Doctor and her companion. One thing for sure, the canon is about to go to hell, especially since I have no idea what to do and what to avoid doing.
"I think you should stay with me. I can help you with whoever after you. But I need you to trust me."
What a hypocrite. She doesn't even trust me. Why should I trust her?
"I don't want to intrude. Just dropped me back on earth at 2020." I said.
"Oh, bad year." The shadow Doctor supplied.
"I insist you stay here for a while. After all, isn't that what Jack want me to do? Welcome to the Tardis. It is..."
"I know what it is. River and Jack told me."
"Well then...if they trust you, I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt..." She smiled brightly. "Welcome aboard, (name). We are going to have adventure of the lifetimes."
If she think I would rejoice, she is sadly mistaken as I stared at her flatly, not impressed.
  He chuckled at my expense.
The Doctor glanced at my unimpressed look, sighed. "Well, you are a tough one."
  7777
And so I ended up becoming the Doctor's unwilling companion...again.
She re-introduced me with her fam and officially give me a room in the Tardis.
Yaz is wary of me but Ryan and Graham are nice and friendly.
And just like that I got pulled into their adventure. I tried to refused saying I'm feeling ill most of the time, preferring to stay behind but unfortunately the Doctor doesn't trust to leave me inside the Tardis.
Does she think I could drive the Tardis or something? Seriously...
  7777
I was stuck in a nightmare. I was back with Victorious and he punishes me for escaping. He trapped me in a special room designed to punish me mentally. He always did know I am weak mentally. He was surprised that I could survive this long by luck alone.
I saw the laughing figure of a trickster, saying the joke is on me and...
I woke up to the concerned face of the Doctor, the female one.
I remembered now. I fell under the clutch of some wannabe gods from ancient Syria. They fed from people's nightmare.
The woman, Rakaya, glanced at me wickedly, saying I have some delicious nightmare.
The Doctor saves the day and able to trick the wannabe gods into eternal imprisonment.
At the end, as I sat with a blank expression on my face on the stairs at the console room, Yaz and Ryan approached me and asked if I want to talk about my nightmare.
I just said that I dreamed of being back in the room. They didn't push me for more. Yaz, being a police officer, probably suspected based on my scars, that the room was where I was imprisoned before.
  7777
  Darn it.
Despite my determination not to get attached with the Doctor and the fam, I failed. Damn adventures and dangers and excitements, it does bound us closer with each other. I saved them, they saved me.
"Admit it, you miss this, didn't you? The adventures, dangers, excitements?" The shadow Doctor teased me. "You got used to it already."
"what about you?" I asked him. "Do you miss being the Doctor? Saving people and planets instead of destroying them on a whim?"
He was silent. For once, he left me alone. I think I hurt his feeling despite him being a hallucination.
  7777
Once I was almost taken by another bounty hunters, the Doctor rescued me and declared that I am under her protection and anyone who want to take me, will have to go through her first.
The oncoming storm expression on her face is enough to make them back off and I was left in peace.
The Doctor is not pleased that I still won't tell her the reason.
"You have your own secrets and I have mine. Respect that!"
"I can't protect you if you don't tell me the truth." The Doctor had said.
"Fine, let me leave. I can take care of myself!"
Both the Doctor and the shadow one snorted at me much to my anger.
The fam has to interfered with our arguments.
"Cool off, the both of you!" Yaz demanded.
Reluctant to leave for the next adventure but having no choice, I went with them. Another life-threatening incident passed with me rescuing Ryan, softened the Doctor and she apologies to me, sort of.
  7777
It finally happened. As Jack warned, the lone cyberman has come.
The Doctor asked me the thing that the cyberman after so I told him about the cyberium. Jack did told me about it in passing. He was part of the alliance, after all. I guess he told me about it because he always planned to dump me at the Doctor. I admitted I hold a grudge against Jack for this still.
The Doctor took me with her but instructed the fam and the rest to stay put. She asked me more about cyberium. I honestly don't know anymore but she kept pressing me, taking her frustration at me.
To be honest, she frighten me at that moment, reminding me of Victorious.
From the way the Doctor reacted when she explained about cyberman to the other, the shadow Doctor concluded that she must have lost someone to the cyberman.
Bill Potts, my mind supplied. I knew she was supposed to be the Doctor's companion after Clara. Since Bill is not here anymore, I can only assume she is the one the Doctor lost.
The Doctor raced against time competing with the cyberman called Ashad to get the cyberium before him.
She eventually figured out the cyberium is possessing one of the residents in the house. She managed to trick the cyberium into leaving its current host.
The cyberium is attracted to the Doctor for a host much to my horror as she started to blurt out something the Time Lord Victorious would say.
I saw the shadow Doctor glanced at the other Doctor in amusement and curiosity. His eyes darkened with the lust for power. At that moment, he look so much like the real Victorious I have to believe he is truly him, not a pale imitation of him.
He turned to look at me as he finally notice the look of dread on my face. "You see? The Doctor has always headed to this..." He said with a chilling smile. "It wasn't you who turned me, dearest (name)."
"Get away..." I whispered in fear. I snapped out of it and yelled at the other Doctor, "Doctor, don't!" at the same time as Yaz.
Thankfully, the Doctor snapped out of it too.
The lone cyberman threaten to destroy the planet right that second if the Doctor refused him the cyberium.
Having no choice, the Doctor give its back to him. I have failed Jack. I know she has no choice but this meant Jack and the alliance would be in danger again.
As we returned to the Tardis, the Doctor made a plan to go after that asshat, I mean, Ashad.
She prepared some machinery in order to fight against the cybermen armies. At least she is confidence she could win this.
I planned to go with her to help and rescue Jack and then I am going to slap the hell out of him.
  7777
Of course, things just don't worked as well as the Doctor planned. We are in the far future where the last of the human race located. I couldn't find Jack or the alliance.
We are overpowered by the cybermen and got separated from each other. I ended up with Yaz and Graham while the Doctor is with Ryan.
Somehow we ended up in cybership with the cybermen armies in the middle of waking up.
We are trapped. Everyone is panicking. I heard Yaz tried to talk to the other Doctor via an unreliable communication device.
I turned toward the shadow Doctor. "Do something!"
He turned to me with a chilling smile. "I have taught you before, right?"
I swallowed down my fear. "Please..."
He sighed as if what I am asking him is too troublesome.
I jumped when the steel door started to shake some more under the constant attack from the cybermen.
"You remembered when you were taken from me by the Division?" He suddenly asked.
I remembered it. I was taken, my mind half lobotomized in order to gain access on what I know of the Doctor. I woke up to everyone in the building died. I assumed Victorious did it.
"I could activated the physic bomb I planted inside you."
"What?!" This is the first time I heard this. "What the hell is that? Why do you insist of putting things in me?" I lost it at him. I am furious, wouldn't you be?
"(name)!" Yaz called out to me in concern but I ignored her and the rest who thought I finally lost my marble.
"Oh chill out, it won't kill you, well, only temporally." He said as he played with his nails.
  "Bastard!"
"If I activated the psychic bomb, you and everyone in this ship will died, well not you obviously, and the cybermen but they will lost all function for roughly an hour or more. Enough time for you to escape, well, once you are resurrected that is." He said.
  "What about them?"
"What about them?" He parroted. He shrugged. "Not my concern."
"The hell with that! Save them too!" I demanded.
"I warned you not to get attached..." He sounded bored now.
  "Find another way!"
  "Why should I?"
  "Please. You are the Doctor."
"I'm not the Doctor anymore, remember?"
"Fine, you are victorious! So prove it!! Save them and be victorious over the cybermen!!" I screamed at him, tears of desperation filled my eyes.
He took a look at me and relents. "Fine."
I let out a shaky relieved breath at his answer.
He instructed me to tell the mechanic of the bunch with me to remove some electrical thingies to support enough for teleportation for all of us to escape.
"It is not enough!" The mechanic said. "Only enough for four and there are seven of us!"
"If only someone has a sonic screwdriver..." The shadow Doctor said mockingly. "Guess you have some decision to make, little (name), which four gets to escape with their life."
I cursed the other Doctor for taking the sonic from me. To my surprise, Yaz pulled a sonic screwdriver from her bag.
"She told me to give it back to you." Yaz explained.
My mouth dropped open in shock. I laughed in near hysterical and turned to the shadow Doctor with a grin. "Tell me."
  He sighed in exasperation. "Fine."
I used the sonic as instructed, giving the teleportation enough power to transport all seven. "Go!" I instructed Yaz and Graham and the rest to go first.
  "What about you?" Yaz demanded.
"I have one last thing to do." I turned to the shadow Doctor as everyone left the ship. "Do it."
He glanced at me with a look and smiled. "Being a martyr?"
"Buying them some time. They are far enough not to get affected by the psychic bomb, correct?"
  "Correct."
"And you are the one who said I will survived it so not a martyr."
  He hummed. "You sure?"
  "Do it."
  "As you wish."
Just as the door crashed open, I screamed as he filled my head with so much pain it triggered the bomb creating a pulse of energy that sweep the cybermen off their feet.
I clutched my heart as it was rudely stopped.
The last thing I saw is the shadow Doctor hovering over me, muttering something I couldn't hear.
"I only ask because triggering the bomb would send a signal directly to him..." He said. "He is coming, (name). I am coming."
  7777
I slowly opened my eyes, found myself on the ground. "Oww..."
The Doctor and the fam are there, surprised to see me alive.
The Doctor scanned me with her sonic. "But...this is impossible." She blurted out. "You are only human, how can you...? You are immortal? Like Jack?"
"Ugh stop talking. Can I get some water please?" I pleaded.
Everyone stared at me weirdly but an old man thankfully gave me some water.
The Doctor still couldn't get over the fact that I survived and demanded to know what I have been hiding from him.
"Take it easy, doc, she did save our life." Graham said.
  The Doctor relented.
  "The cybermen..."
"Out of commission for now. How did you do that?" The Doctor asked.
  "Tell you later."
She glanced at me. "You better." She said firmly before turned to Ko Sharmus who showed us to the Boundary and there a portal opened.
Both the Doctor and the shadow one blanched in horror when they recognized the ruins of Gallifrey.
And then some random guy leaped out of the portal.
"Master." I heard the Doctor spatted in disgust.
"What?" I accidentally yelled. Last time, to my knowledge, the Master is Missy, though? What happened to her?
"Like a pest...he just keep coming back, huh?" I heard the shadow Doctor said with a chuckle.
The Master demanded the Doctor to go with him. She refused at first. But when he threaten to kill the rest of us, she relented.
Reluctantly, she goes with the Master through the portal, instructing the rest of us to stay behind.
"Follow them." The shadow Doctor demanded.
I stared at him as if he has lost his mind.
"Do it!" The force of his words gave me headache.
"Oh, alright! Geez!" I glared at him in annoyance but did as I told and the pounding headache lessened just a bit.
Yaz and the other tried to stop me but I told them not to follow me.
The Doctor is enraged when she saw me. "What the hell? (name), get back out there!"
The Master is not pleased to see me either. "Control your pet, Doctor, or I will be forced to kill her."
I glared at the shadow Doctor at my predicament of having two very angry Time Lord. "I have no choice, okay!" I said to them.
The shadow Doctor chuckled and told me to say something for him intended for the Master.
"Like hell, I'm gonna say that. He is going to kill me." I refused as I glared at the empty space beside me much to the confusion of two still very angry Time Lord. He wanted me to call him by his name 'Koschei'. I clutched my head. "Oh, fine!!"
"You always have such a sort fuse, Koschei." I repeated word for word.
Both the Doctor and the Master flinched and glared at me suspiciously.
Great. Nice going. Is he planning to get myself killed?
"How do you know that name?" The Master demanded.
"He told me." I gesture to the empty space beside me.
The Master stared at the empty space before chuckled darkly. "Your pet has gone insane, Doctor?"
I stared at him flatly, trying to cover my fear. "The Doctor told me." which is the truth. "just not the Doctor you know." also truth since the Master technically never met bow-ties.
The Doctor stared at me in confusion.
"Yeah, don't care." The Master shrugged and pointed his gun at me as I raised my hand in surrender but the Doctor stood firmly in front of me, shielding me from him.
"Don't you dare." The Doctor hissed at him.
"You don't want to do that. Unless you want me stop both of your hearts." I said, more like repeating the shadow Doctor said.
"Are you threatening me?" The Master look pissed.
"(name), who are you talking with?" The Doctor turned around and grabbed both of my arms, demanding an answer out of me.
"I..." Is this it? Do I have to tell her the truth? I turned to look at the shadow Doctor. I swallowed down hard as I look at the Doctor and then at the Master. "To answer your question, yes, that was a threat. How do you think I made the cybermen lost his function, Doctor? I have a psychic bomb inside me, killing me would trigger it, would kill myself and stopped both of your hearts. So unless you want an early death, I suggest you temper yourself." I said as flat as possible.
Both Time Lords stared at me in shock.
"Psychic bomb? Who did that to you?" The Doctor demanded in concern and slight fear.
"The Doctor did." I said softly.
She released me as if stunned.
The Master curiously looked at me and the Doctor. "Oh fuck this, you ruined my moments, ape!"
"(name)..." The Doctor stared at me as if I grow two head suddenly.
"Come on you two, we need to be somewhere else right now!" The Master demanded.
The Doctor grabbed my hand and took me with her as the Master led us the ruin of the citadel.
As we entered the hall of matrix chamber, the Master suddenly hit me over the head, causing to collapse on the floor, losing my consciousness.
Both Doctor and the shadow Doctor are enraged at my behalf. The Master claimed he need her attention on him, not on her stupid pet.
  7777
I woke up to huge commotion. The Master is yelling something at a hologram of Ashad and his armies, asking them what happened. We could heard explosion. He turned to the Doctor asking her what has she done but the Doctor claimed it wasn't her.
They were shouting at each other. Until a signal caught on his communication device.
"A signal. The four taps of two hearts." The Master suddenly said in confusion.
I glanced at those two as they started to bicker again. They are the last two Time Lords, so who was it that send him a signal?
My heart suddenly beats faster as dread filled me.
"The signal is getting close but something seemed to prevented it to come through..." the Doctor said as she pulled her sonic at the device that now emitting some sort of pulse. A portal suddenly appeared in the middle of the room.
I turned toward the shadow Doctor who look at me fondly. I couldn't decipher the meaning of it for a time. He suddenly started to fade away and my eyes widened as I suddenly have a realization.
"No!!" I shouted at both the Doctor and the Master trying to make them stop just as a pulse of energy exploded knocking all of us off our feet and I lost my consciousness once more.
  7777
The portal opened. A man in bow-ties and dark purple suit stepped out of it.
The Doctor and the Master groaned on the floor. They looked up to see the newcomer.
The Doctor froze in shock when she saw her past-self. Her mouth dropped open.
He fixed his bow-ties with a grin. "Finally..." He turned and glanced at the other two Time Lords. "Hello there."
"Who the hell are you?" The Master asked.
"Victorious, at your service." He said, bowing mockingly at them.
The Doctor's face paled at the name. "But you can't be..."
  "Oh? Why not?" He asked.
"You were me. And I never, he never..."
"You are the Doctor. Interesting." He said, eyes gleaming in excitement.
"You...are not me." The Doctor finally realized.
Victorious turned toward the unconscious human at the floor. His eyes softened considerably as he walked and squatted before the human, one hand gently removed the strand of hairs covering the face. "I guess even here, you couldn't escape a Me after all, huh?" he said. He sighed as he cradled the human into his arms. His forehead touches the human gently. "Seemed like you still keep some secret from me too..." He glanced at the Time Lady before him with a chilling smile before turning to look at his human again. "You bad, bad girl, what is to be done with this?"
A/N: I don’t know if there will be more. Maybe if inspiration hit, I will. Bear in mind, if I do write more, I might just add it in the same post instead of making another one so stay tunes? But for now, TTFN.

Tags from this post segmented off into a post of their own (if you don't want to click that link, then just the phrase "ancient iterator dick discourse" should suffice. We have strong opinions about iterator construction because we live with a guy who manages large-scale construction projects and such like this for a living and it's really hard to listen to half a dozen calls about the legalities of one (1) bridge and budgeting and materials construction and the legally mandated fund for art on major construction projects and then just buy in to hundreds of years of iterator designs using a single thing made by one guy without changing a single piece of it or at the very least having eighty engineers arguing the shit out of it.

JoJolion chapter 107 review (starring Higashikata Caato)
Why not? This chapter does star her.
We’re finally almost free from the crap of Caato’s hypes because she finally does something right now. This chapter is about her fight against Tooru and more about her character.
Previously related post:
The Long-Awaited Most-Hyped Character Finally Made Her Appearance: Caato
MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD!! Don’t read more if you haven’t read the newest chapter (107) yet and don’t want to get spoiled!
Tumblr media
JJL chapter 107: Kaato Higashikata's "Attack"
First, I’d like to try her recipe.
Tumblr media
Actually, the reason she is in Higashikata’s house right now is to deliver Jobin’s favorite dish made by her… what a lovely mother. Too bad, instead she found her son’s dead body.
Tumblr media
This actually should debunk some Caatofags silly idea of her as an evil person who doesn’t really care about her family. When it looks like more about Jobin, I think she does care to her daughters as well when she asked them to stay in their place.
Tumblr media
Also, the speculation of Tooru’s tricking Caato also got debunked, obviously because Yasuho is there to tell her about what was really going on.
Tumblr media
Yasuho in this chapter mostly just explains anything happened and her explanation regarding rock-humans and New Locacaca is because she has no reason to assume that Caato already knows about these things.
Tumblr media
I like how Caato looks calm when Tooru was pointing knife (more like saw I think) at her, those tears in her eyes are still tears of grief over Jobin’s death, not due to her fear.
Tumblr media
read it from left to right -->
That really sounds like a villain speech and it is said by Tooru. At this point I’m getting even more conviced that he is the true main villain of part 8.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caato then revealed her Stand, the name is 「Space Trucking」 and I have explained its newest mechanism in my other post, so I won’t go in depth in discussing her Stand here. In short, she uses her Stand to hide some of Tooru’s limbs to incapacitate him.
Tumblr media
Apparently, the one who called her “K-Kaato-san” in the last page of previous chapter was Yasuho and Tooru also knows about her (Caato). Just like what Maako, the girlfriend of Ojiro said that the news about her murdering a child 15 years ago is a well-known sensational news in Morioh, so it is not surprising if several characters in JJL know her.
Tumblr media
I like Caato’s composure and softness here, kinda reminds me of Jolyne… yeah, she has been compared to Jolyne numerous times, her intro in prison is definitely a Jolyne’s reference. Araki once said that Norisuke IV is the JJL version of Josuke in part 4, as his elder counterpart so, what if Caato is also the elder counterpart of Jolyne in JJL? That kinda makes sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caato already knows about the New Locacaca and so, does this mean that Caato was hiding another pot of the New Locacaca?? Or is that the same pot that Tooru and Yasuho had been fighting for in previous chapters?
My guess is that it is the ‘same’ pot, look how the pot that Caato reveals does not have any fruit either. I think Caato is just playing with her Stand’s ability while talking about the New Locacaca  or… perhaps, while she looks like she is playing, she actually manages to hide and steal a part of the plants(?)
Tumblr media
Look, a flashback of Caato and Jobin! I think it officially becomes her trait to always barge in unannounced and startled whoever was in the room. They were in Jobin’s beetle collection room where he hid the New Locacaca there.
Look at the window that still looks intact there, then this flashback happened before the fight between Jobin-Tsurugi and Ojiro.
Tumblr media
This is so wholesome this scene basically tells that no matter how old Jobin is he is still Caato’s baby.
Okay, I’m not into symbolization but now I want to talk about it just a moment, while this could be simply a JoJo thing that Jobin was wearing such impractical design for the sake of fashion, with that outfit he basically locked his own wrist which might symbolize of being handcuffed.
Tumblr media
If you’re willing to take a look at the flashback scene in chapter 64, Jobin started wearing such outfit when he was a teenager right before Caato got caught by the police. Is this a form of Jobin's empathy for his mother who was in prison? Even though this symbolization is slightly missed because he was already wearing that outfit just before Caato got caught.
Tumblr media
Told ya, the window still wasn't broken yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, Jobin eventually told everything to his mom, about the New Locacaca, its equivalent exchange ability, the orchard burning and Tsurugi’s involvement.. and the most important thing that’s being revealed here is that the sap has the same power as the fruit! Those beetles show that we don’t necessarily need to have the fruit to get the effect of perfect equivalent exchange!!
Also, this actively debunk those wild theory of Caato being the mastermind of everything, she did not seem to possess any Locacaca before, she did not know the existence of the New Locacaca (and possibly about the rock-humans either), she did not know what truly happened during the orchard burning, she doesn't look like she is a secret rock-wahmen either, etc.
She is not as mighty as those Caatofags want her to be, however…
Tumblr media
…her character remains consistent since the early of her introduction, that she actually had a conflicting view with Norisuke IV regarding the family’s ethic and moral value. This is about what we call “selflessness vs selfishness” again, and Caato’s view is more dominant in influencing Jobin.
Caato is not the mastermind controlling Jobin like a puppet like those Caatofags was promoting. Everything Jobin has done in this story is of his own will, starting from his cooperation with rock-humans, the struggle of the New Locacaca and the burning orchards. However, Jobin's way of thinking, motivation and ambition have been influenced by Caato's views and how she has nurtured him.
And in this chapter, Caato is being supportive towards Jobin like she had always been (read: chapter 59 and 64). Plus, Caato and Jobin’s Stand names being references to Deep Purple’s songs may signify their close relationship.
Tumblr media
Looks like she just basically activated her Stand on the plant, it could be hidden whenever someone tried to come and get it but it wasn’t truly activated, at least that’s what the translation implies.
Tumblr media
read it from right to left <---
「Wonder of U」 starts appearing behind Caato, does it mean that Caato really start harming Tooru? Another new feat of her Stand’s ability that it is able to fully hide a living being, which she uses to hide her grandson Tsurugi.
Tumblr media
She makes Tooru to do equivalent exchange with dying Tsurugi while 「Wonder of U」is seen rushing towards Caato… end in cliffhanger. Probably my favorite page here. Basically, what Caato does is ‘two birds in one stone’ movement, breaking the Higashikata family’s curse by saving her grandson while eliminating Tooru.
Tumblr media
And what could happen next?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My thought…
This chapter shows how awesome Caato truly is, starting from her soft side as a mother to her toughness against the enemy.
Araki is really doing her well, I thought there was no need to turn her into an antagonist with great power/influence or a silly plot twist that this unassuming grannie is the mastermind behind anything.
Caatofags had once described her as a mother who directs Jobin like a puppet and supervises Tooru as her subordinate whereas in reality, Araki has been portraying the three of them in a more balanced way rather than one being above anothers.
Tumblr media
I really like her relationship with Jobin, I once said that they would make good partners if they were to be the final antagonists after Tooru, but sadly at this point I feel that Jobin is permanently dead.
There won’t be Yoshihiro-Yoshikage(like)’s cooperation against Josuke in this part… however, Caato continues to carry out her supportive role towards Jobin by trying to fulfill his main goal of curing Tsurugi and breaking the family curse.
Even so far, I haven't considered Caato as an antagonist, I still think of her as a 'wild card' for Josuke and Yasuho.
Tumblr media
The mystery and next chapter prediction…
If this goes well, it looks like Caato's action in doing equivalent exchange to Tooru and Tsurugi will succeed in curing Tsurugi. The cracks on Tsurugi's face seemed to be diminishing. But with the 「Wonder of U」 following behind her, it shows that Caato's life too is in danger.
Tumblr media
Then what will happen to the fully healed Tsurugi? Considering that the fusion happened to Josefumi and Kira does not make any of them 'alive' with their consciousness and instead creates a new consciousness we called “Josuke”, the new Tsurugi might not be the Tsurugi we know all along.
Besides, the equivalent exchange that happened on Tooru and Tsurugi is an exchange between rock-human and normal human and so far we still don't know what the effect will be. Will this be the answer to Tsurugi's weird behavior in the flashforward of chapter 83?
Then I also questioned about the harvest countdown of the New Locacaca in the flashforward, that in the previous chapter (106), the fruit in the pot was already gone. But in this chapter, there could be a possibility that Caato might hide the other parts of the plant (perhaps some branches) using her cards.
I think that there is starting to appear a slight hint linking the current events to the flashforward in chapter 83.

We are getting really close to the scene in lost fragment of snow that was genuinely confusing in the book, and it's the scene were everyone in the circus is killed. I think what we will probably get is a scene were mana finally ends up giving into despair after he is hit and then allen is fed to a lion.
I think that with more current info, i can say for sure that sleeve earl and mana are a hybird. This will likely cause a resurgence of sleeve earl into taking over the body and becoming whole. This only lasts for a short time however and when cross confronts him after the rest of the circus has died from the audience turning into akuma(which i suppose are implied to be constantly just around the earl and is probably one of the many reasons cross warned Allen to stay away) some exchange of words or damage causes a lots of control. This damage however also hurts mana(or potentially just being forced out off control) causing him to loose even more memories as seen when mana and Allen reunite the next day.
Now i think we can agree that sleeve earl exists as a third entity, especially since her recent art exhibit interview, as she talked about the suit being a super sophisticated golem. I think in this case as with tim and lero yhat "golem" refers to AI. Id argue with the weird phrasing like helix of life and all the biotech style that magic is more often than not just more advanced technology, and wherever the noahs came from likely was, hence why they say they only seem strong because we have become so weak. This is only further shown with innocences resemblance to machines like its gear like parts and percentage resonance.
The noah memories in general i think are some kind of AI that passes through generation lines, carrying significant portions of its past forward and then fusing with a similar person in their lineage. For example early on road would have been just road, then through some means either became an AI(or was given a piece of someone that counts as one under golem, its unclear). Regardless once connected to the noah memory, it acts like a save file and becomes more sophisticated with time. It carries each life and gives all those memories, feelings and drives to a new body. So new road would remember being road, her life and everything, but also the life they had been living up until the two combined. Over time the noah memory keeps getting larger and larger to the point new experiences are so small, relatively speaking, that it overrides much more than normal. Since they are fuzed as one being they likely cant be separated without mutually assured destruction, were the current entity will die and any remains will not be the origionals, if anything remains at all. An example of this is that tyki could not be made human by Allen I their fight i the arc, despite having a blade that should destroy only part of him. Admittedly tyki is a special case though, and more tyki backstory is needed.
Changes from body to body become more subtle, but the base, which likely has a distinct core function as seen by its response to certain tasks and ideas, remains a strong aspect. This creates an almost reincarnation like effect for them, needing to only find a new body to continue.
The suit is like this, but different. I don't know how the original earl split, but i do think that some aspect of him was placed on the suit. I would like to say its the original version of the noah memories of the earl and nea got like a brand new copy, but i actually have no idea what memories he has of being past earl so its mostly a guess. Regardless the noah actually all seem to transform in some way when they get mega pissed. Im looking at you skinn, jasdevi, and tyki/joyd. So the suit is likely that kind of thing, but way more distinct and capable of acting autonomously. Since they all have different forms it makes sense that his would also be unique. They all probably represent some inner desire related to their memory. Skinn is just rage so big angry man works fine. Jasdero and devit are bonds so they want most to be one. Tyki got all fucked up before he changed so i got nothing, but it had a heavy does of sadism, which I guess is pleasure? Taking into account that killing in horrible graphic ways is his guilty pleasure it kinda makes sense.
So because of that, this sentient AI is constantly trying to pair with half a fucking brain because nea and mana only share one brain cell. Some kind of resistance from mana or strain causes him to constantly fall ill or comatose. Now to be clear on naming, sleeve earl does not refer to themselves as adam in the mirror scene nor does he refer to mana as adam, and only uses "we" when talking to mana about being the earl. Oddly enough the earls self pronouns are we, using wagashi which is kind of like the japanese equivalent of the royal we used in europe for the entirety of the series. For the record, mana in the flashbacks uses male or single they pronouns, i don't remember if he uses boku or watashi, but he uses at least one if not both.
So from this it seems millennium earl is a title, used by whatever is paired with the suit. Adam is the original name of the noah, and is the preferred name of the current earl aside from the title.
This circumstance was likely caused by the rest of the noah, who are using the earl for something related by the pillar. His separation either by accident or by intent was likely by the hands of his family trying to keep control for their ends. This is why the current earl is called a broken puppet and has so many things around him related to acting and stage plays. He is playing a role, the red clown to allens white clown as stated in the ark arc. He even wears a mask. His memories and mind have been damaged though, therefore broken. However broken puppet for both allen and the earl could also refer to a puppet that doesnt work as a double meaning, implying they can no longer be controlled or puppeted.
It is also implied that he is still unaware of this betrayal, but it is likely nea does to some degree as it would explain why he became a traitor and killed his own family. To be clear, i dont think all of the noah know everything, and i dont think they dont actually care for the earl. It seems they still genuinely follow him to their death and see him as one of their own, especially in cases like road, tyki and wisely.
Now early i said that different generations of noah would cope woth reincarnating differently. Since the earl only died once before 7000 years ago, id say resetting to a new body with only 17 years would be just smashed flat by any algorithm with that much data. However manas feelings are still the newest, and so still have an impact even on the current earl.
Now we come to resurrecting mana. How? Why? Well i dont know. But my guess is whatever part was the memories of mana for the 20 or so years he lived, or at least his memories at death, are in allen. His curse and weird hallucinations of mana seem to suggest it. Alternatively that part of his soul may have passed on, or it fuzed with the noah memory making the origional mana part of the hive and much like tyki and his noah memories cannot be seperated. Not good regardless.
As two additional things, i want to mention that hoshino is a twin and has always been obsessed with it, so having twins in her book was inevitable. What is extra weird is hoshino was actually going to be a triplet, but either her or her sister absorbed it before birth. She has mentioned it in dgm interviews and i cant PROVE it translates to anything in the plot but its suspicious. She also still list mana, nea and the earl as distinct in every book up to date in extra novels and at the start of her books. Oh and her favorite hat for the earl right now? The one featured on the most recent chapter? Has two faces on the front that are visible, and one in the back thats hidden, and the most recent art has the back face as the only one visible, angrily staring allen down. Great art foreshadowing if im right. Its also usually sleeve earl, if not exclusively, that wear it.
The second thing is mana talking about love and drive in the most recent chapter just brings up the earl having the noah memory of love or devotion or something for me. Ive written about it before but it just seems to fit. This character is all about that from the ability to fuze loved ones together to the hearts he talks with and his drives being based on grand acts of devotion, being by their side etc. Mana also loved and adopted both and dog and a homeless child and keeps talking about how the world is so beautiful despite all the bad. The earl literally acts like the whole noah clans mom by his own words and cooks for them, and both of them go out of their way to be cartoony to break tension. The earl literally goes and buys a single red rose from a poor girl while tyki pontificate on how he doesnt act like a villain. He doesnt take an umbrella because he wants to feel the rain. He talks about how what he does is in human nature and requires a connection between two people. He is even designed with his ideal colors as red and purple with white, as well as being designed after flowers. I know this probably doesnt make sense, but its stuck in my head.

How about an urru rating list? Even though there's not much info on these guys, I like to hear what your opinions are on them. Thank you
FUCK YEAH LET’S GOOOO (and you’re welcome asdf)
1. urVa: Best mystic 10/10. But in all seriousness, the reason why I love him so much is because of the book series. He’s just a sweet grandpa hermit who lives in a hovel and offers you stew or tea. I love the scene where he’s showing Naia how to use a bow even though his was way to big for her. Or how protective he was of both her and Kylan when they saw Tavra’s silhouette from afar. I’m sure he was thinking that might have belonged to someone else. Although their scenes weren’t as plenty, their friendship was very sweet. Not to mention he’s a little more proactive in the gelfling resistance, even stopping other skeksis besides his counterpart (skekLi in Song). I just wish Flames allowed Naia to mourn over him properly. But I’m also not knocking his appearance in AOR: he’s great too I just wish he had more spotlight on him. I want to know more about his friendship with Aughra (how it extends from MalVa) and the complicated relationship he had with skekMal (because there are signs that he had conflicted feelings about his counterpart as he showed genuine sadness over “ending the Hunt”). Also the fact that even despite his age, he’s still strong and stealthy (and apparently good at martial arts) and that’s pretty rad. Also x 2 I love his design it’s really good. urVa is just *chefs kiss* the best. His sacrifice never fails to hurt me, though. Fuck you skekMal, urVa didn’t deserve this.
2. urLii: He’s a really close second. Honestly if he gets significant screen time in future seasons he may take urVa’s place. This is also mainly because of the books, but also from the few things I know about his appearance from the prequel comics. He a little senile cave gremlin taking care of Thra’s old artifacts. I’m still sad that in the comics only Maurda Argot knows about him because it just seems like urLii’s the Grottan’s silly grandpa who tells them stories about the artifacts in the Tomb of Relics. But I’m glad that the two have something similar to Aughra and urVa’s dynamic it’s great. I also seriously love his sense of humor. Like he lightly picks on Ordon for laughs and calls him Ordie.  In the books, it can get pretty dark (making death jokes at his expense) and I love the fact he shares that with skekLi. And speaking of, when urLii and urVa stopped skekLi, the Satirist called the Archer’s bluff when he warned he’d shoot the skeksis if he tried anything. He was playing on urVa’s feelings that the Storyteller would die too, but then urLii dangles himself off from the edge of the cliff like “I will not hesistate, bitch”. There’s a lot to love about urLii. Although I hope he gets his glasses back they looked so cute on him.
3. urGoh: Gotta love this mystic stoner. To be honest, I think I like him only because I love the dynamic between him and skekGra. I’m not sure if I would like him on his own. But at the same time, I do really enjoy his character. I feel like despite smoking his brains out, he’s being intentionally slow to get on skekGra’s nerves. Also major props to urGoh for helping the Heretic reform because I know it wasn’t easy (he was one of the most dangerous skeksis apparently). Also I like how he used hookah smoke for dramatic fog for his and skekGra’s puppet show. That’s creative.
4. urSan: She sounds so pretty. Like her outfit matches the color of the Silver Sea, her hair is indigo with white streaks, she’s just... I want to see her. I want to see what her puppet would look like. I like how she’s considered a folk legend among the Sifa and she lives in a lighthouse near by making star charts and maps. And apparently she had occasional visits from skekSa and that’s really interesting considering how fiercely independent the Mariner makes herself out to be. I feel bad for her: her skeksis counterpart is also a dumbass and urSan had to suffer a slow death because of her. Fuck you skekSa, urSan didn’t deserve that.
5. urSu: So on one hand, urSu is probably the reason the mystics adopted a complacent philosophy and just let the skeksis destroy Thra instead of trying to work or co-exist with them. Also the fact he placed a heavy burden on Jen by basically having him fix their mess because of a prophecy.  So he and the other mystics are just as responsible for what happened on Thra. But on the other hand, I think he understands how much he fucked up and is trying to make amends along with the other mystics by protecting Jen. He didn’t tell the gelfling his destiny right away probably because the boy already had a traumatic experience losing his family he doesn’t want to add to that by telling him he alone must save the world. He wanted Jen to have a normal, happy childhood. UrSu really tried being a good dad to him and I appreciate that.
6. urSol: I think I’m starting to like him more because of the headcanons I gave him but anyway. The sequel comics states he’s a rebel by mystic standards and after many years of doing nothing he suddenly gets involved with Thra. If Dark Heart is indeed SilSol, I think that’s really interesting that urSol deviates from the main group. I also like how it’s describe that urSol enriches the world around him through words as opposed to skekSil who manipulates it. I feel like urSol has a lot of potential being an interesting character. Also he’s just the softest looking mystic, like a cinnamon roll.
7. urTih: It really sucks being a mystic, but urTih probably got the worst of it besides urSol. Not only is his skeksis stupid, but said skeksis is also a self-mutilator... for science. He also has the funniest death he just blips out of existence because his dumbass counterpart fell down a shaft (which was also super funny). He didn’t deserve it: let him practice alchemy in peace. On the other hand, I also wish urTih was with skekTek because that guy needs something positive in his life (and also tell him to stop vivisecting and creating abominations).
8. urUtt:
Tumblr media
Also I like the fact he can just weave clothes using a system of knots instead of cutting cloth. Making use of all the material and not wasting it that’s rad. UrUtt is also one of the most cinnamon roll looking mystics of the bunch.
9. urSen: Not going to lie when I read about his passage in the Dark Crystal bestiary I felt so sorry for him. He knew he’d die years in advance and he just isolated himself from the rest. Poor guy I hoped one of the mystics came by to visit him.
10. urAc: He’s pretty cute I like his lil hat. It sounds like he and urUtt work together since he’s the one that created patterns into cloth that incorporate the wearer’s thoughts. Seems very fitting considering their skeksis counterparts are friends.
11. urAmaj: As a common theme in this post I feel bad for him but for different reasons. He’s patient with how he cooks his food, making sure it has a nice balance of flavor and texture as well as nutritious. Yet he can’t make good gelfling food, according to Jen. He’s doing his best Jen leave him be. Also it’s cute that he’s close friends with urNol.
12: urNol: He has one of the most nice sounding names among the mystics. According to TDC Author’s Quest, urNol makes great elixirs and seeds that can grow into anything. Since the mystics are implied to have planted the Great Trees, I wonder if they were urNol’s creations. Also poor guy lost an eye and an arm, but I guess it could be much worse.
13: urIm: I like that he’s known for being a healer, but is the only mystic that knows something called a death trance. I just think that juxtaposition is very interesting. Also I’m wondering if he was the mystic responsible for teaching the Dousan the mystic ways?
14: urZah: Once again I feel bad for another mystic, the fact that he has to be associated with the absolute worst skeksis. Also I want to know why he’s so distrustful, even with the other mystics.
15: urYod: I always confuse his name with urNol’s for some reason, which is weird because his name kinda rhymes with “Shod”. So apparently ShodYod helped Aughra in her observatory? I wonder if urYod ever had a friendship with her at the beginning.
16: urMa: Poor bastard there’s literally nothing about him. Hopefully he gets a page in the bestiary.
17: urYa and urHom: Even more poor bastards they never even made it that far after the Great Division. For some reason, urHom is the only one with a confirmed title.

Okay, I have calmed down enough after reading Aftermath: Empire’s End that I can address the bit that really got to me.
TL;DR: the entire “Contigency” business is based on an extended chess metaphor and... I have questions.
Previously, we have learned that a Jakku orphan named Galli Rax stowed away on Palpatine’s Space Yacht so he could get away, only to be caught by Palpatine. Palps told the kid that he had two choices: die, or go back to Jakku and make sure no one stumbled across the Mysterious Thing (”the Observatory”) Palps was constructing out in the desert. Galli chooses the latter, and Palps sends him back to Jakku and Galli does his thing. Ten years later, Palps shows back up with the space yacht to compliment Galli on a job well done and take him away.
O.... kay. I’m not sure how Palps was able to ensure Rax would keep his end of the bargain. Sure, he has a supervisor Yupe Tashu and a bunch of droids, and I suppose they could have killed Galli, but... there didn’t seem to be anything stopping Galli from running away? I doubt even Palps would have bothered to stalk one kid just to prove a point, but it just seems really weird from Palpatine’s perspective to be so hands-off.
Anyway, so the first thing they do in their Big Reunion is Palps teaches him how to play chess. And I don’t just mean Thinly-Disguised Space Chess as a stand-in for the real thing, I mean actual chess.
Here’s the passage that made me start to howl and gibber from a world-building perspective:
“It’s a very old game. Shah-tezh, in this interation, thought over the eons I have seen it spawn many variants. Dejarik. Moebius. Chess. In most of the iterations the core mechanism remains.”
To be clear: this is Palpatine talking. What the hell does he mean by “over the eons I have seen”? That’s not the sort of thing you say if it’s something you know from a book or a story, that’s what you say if you’ve personally experienced it. Is Palpatine really that old?? If so, this is HUGE, absolutely earth-shattering bombshell from a world-building perspective. Is it ever followed up on? Not that I can tell.
What. The. Actual. Fuck.
(To be fair, I’m not against this, per se, but I just... feel like if it was important.... it should be relevant.... and not name-dropped once and never mentioned again? Like, it matters? AAHHHHHHHHHHH.)
The other thing that made me scream, is, of course, the fact he comes right out and says it’s Chess In Space, which.... While I have used “holo-chess” as a synonym for “dejarik” in my fics, and Wookiepeedia says “holochess” is an accepted synonym for dejarik in nu!canon, this particular passage reads weirdly to me because it implies that chess as we know it on Earth is a separate but related game to dejarik, not just another name for the same game. And I... have questions about that, just like I would if “poker” suddenly appeared in the GFFA lingo along with “sabacc”.
{Also, I just want to note that the Persian word for chess is shatranj. Per the “History of Chess” article on Wikipedia:
Players started calling "Shāh!" (Persian for "King!") when attacking the opponent's king, and "Shāh Māt!" (Persian for "the king is helpless" – see checkmate) when the king was attacked and could not escape from attack. These exclamations persisted in chess as it traveled to other lands.
This isn’t the first time real-life details have migrated into Star Wars - “Tatooine” is named after a location in Tunisia, and the Lars’ farm is located in the “Great Chott” which actually exists on Earth.... but still. I’m just saying.}
And again, this is probably me being stupid and petty about Details That Don’t Matter, except that the one is actually huge from a plot and thematic perspective, so it’s hard not to get tripped up on it.
Anyway, so Palps instructs Galli in the intricacies of shah-tezh, and it all boils down to one thing: “without the Imperator, the demesne cannot survive”.
And That’s the reason why Palpatine has to personally make sure the world burns after his death, because it means that his Empire has completely failed if he dies and deserves to be punished. O.... kay then.
(Granted, Palpatine is a crazed narcissist, but... there’s like no way this makes logical sense, right? And Rax doesn’t even think “oh, that’s insane, but I have to agree to stay alive”. Even at this juncture, when he barely knows Palpatine at all, he’s completely swallowed the Kool-Aid. Which is odd because he’s very skeptical about other things.)
Anyway, Palps repeats it because it’s his guiding principle: “If an Empire cannot protect its Emperor then that Empire must be deemed a failure. It collapses not only because its central figure is gone, but because it must not be allowed to remain.”
He’s so incensed he nearly strangles Galli, but then he relents, and says Galli is “the Contigency” and if he fails, he’ll be replaced, because literally, “destiny”. Then they go watch opera, because Palps hasn’t found anyone to watch opera with him since that one time with Anakin and... Vader isn’t into that, lol.
(The problem with making opera Galli’s thing is that ALL OF THOSE SCENES ARE FLASHBACKS or referred to in passing in the narrative rather than viewed directly. So we don’t see him poised at the opera, plotting, the way Palps did in ROTS, or contemplating art like Thrawn does. So it’s easy to forget that he has this quirk. Also, it makes him feel like a Thrawn knock-off. But I do like that it’s canon that he’s just the Biggest Drama Queen ever, though.)
I’ve said this before in earlier rants, but to repeat: I do not see Palpatine as having the relative humility needed to even consider his own death seriously. in ROTJ, he acts 100% confident that he’s gonna come out the winner. So to come up with an entire elaborate plot, on the off chance that someone might off him seems just... kinda OOC?
Sure, he’s the type to have wheels within wheels and all kinds of schemes going on simultaneously, but... this one involves placing a lot of trust in Galli Rax going along with the script, and I just... don’t get why he would assume Rax would automatically go along with it, or be able to. There are just so many variables that the novel doesn’t seem to address and it’s just hard for me to imagine Palpatine doing this without making other/additional Contigencies, not just one.
Anyway, so it turns out “the Contingency” is to lure both the Imperial remnant and the New Republic fleets to Jakku and then literally blow the entire planet up to take everyone out at once, while a handful of specially chosen loyalist ride off in Palpatine’s Space Yacht for the Unknown Regions to form a new Empire. Which... okay, sure, why not. In theory, this sounds pretty cool and it involves all of Palpatine’s favor tricks, including a planet-destroying superweapon.
Where it actually breaks down is in the details, of course. And Palpatine is still dead, of course, so it does shit-all for him, except for some vindictive satisfaction while still alive, I guess.
(And if he is planning on coming back, it seems weird to burn down the house you plan on re-occupying later? I guess? *shrugs*)
Anyway, it turns out that Palpatine has a whole network of Observatories, where he does all kinds of secret, evil things:
Palpatine began establishing the Observatories before the start of the Galactic Empire, infusing each with purpose: Some were meant to house ancient Sith artificats, others designed to host powerful weapons designs (or the weapons themselves), others still meant as prisons harnessing the lifeforces of those captured within for a variety of strange purposes.
(which, given that the Ashmead’s Lock prison on Kashyyyk is powered by its inhabitants’ life force a la The Matrix, strongly suggests that it, too, is an Observatory, although the book does not say that directly and canon will probably never mention the energy-harvesting thing again despite ALL OF THE QUESTIONS THE EXISTENCE OF SUCH TECH RAISES.)
I’m okay with this passage, because it means that the Maw Installation, the Eye of Palpatine, and Wayland are all part of this system. It feels very much in-character. However, only Jakku is part of the Contigency, at least according to Galli, but--tbh, I kinda doubt it, because when have we ever known Palpatine to tell the truth? Or have Only One Plan?
Anyway, for decades, the Observatory computers have been plotting a route through hyperspace into the Unknown Regions. (I thought this was something only Jedi could do, since they were supposedly hard-core Space Navigators? Otherwise, what was even the point? *shrugs* Why do you even need a “Sith Wayfinder” anyway? *cough cough*) Then there’s an obligatory Thrawn reference, since Thrawn is canon, but Rax is pretty dismissive and says that the only reason Palps tolerated Thrawn was for his secret navigational insights into the Unknown Regions.
So if Palps loses his original demesne, he’s just gonna go conquer the Chiss or something? Except he can’t, because he’s dead, so what ever. I don’t even know, okay? Does anyone know what happened to Thrawn or the Chiss post-OT in the Disney ‘verse??
Anyway, Palps is convinced there’s something in the dark side waiting for him out there, which Galli is dismissive of. You’d think a guy who had literally been Force-choked would be more accepting of this instead of assuming it was just wishful thinking, but okay then. This is pretty clearly meant to be an obvious Snoke reference, which gets wonky with the TROS retcon that Snoke was a clone-puppet of Palpatine the entire time!
Anyway, Rax gets Yupe Tashu all geared up with Secret Evil Sith Gear and a Magic Kyber Crystal and tosses him into the planet’s core, and it starts the self-destruct process. Except it doesn’t because Rae Sloane kills Rax at the last moment, puts a stop to it, and steals the yacht full of feral children and flies off into the sunset to carry on Rax’s master plan because the New Republic destroyed the Imperial fleet while she was distracted and she apparently is tired of all this shit? Okay.
Anyway, she makes a deal with Armitage Hux that she’ll keep Brendol from abusing him if he keeps the feral kids from attacking her, and apparently it works out. This is supposed to be the origin of the First Order, and I guess they find Snoke or something, but none of the details are ever explained in any material I can find, so.... *shrugs*
I just really don’t understand how the First Order can be functional under the conditions herein described and how it logically evolves from This One Ship to a massive, disciplined force capable of wiping out the New Republic.
So I finished the book and... was kind of mad, because it just felt like a complete waste of my time. Overally, this whole thing just seems like a lot of build-up that doesn’t go anywhere, and provides weird backstory that only raises more unaddressed questions for things that really didn’t need it.
also, it’s darkly amusing to me that this book comes out saying, “yup, the ST is a literal game-board reset of the OT, and Palps fully intended for it to be that way, even though we at Disney had no plans to bring him back as a villain at first” and I just... well, props for honesty, I guess?
anyway, the whole thing is a mess from a world-building perspective, and even though Star Wars is Fake and In Space, I just get grumpy when things don’t line up, especially since that was supposed to be one of the major selling points of this new canon in the first place.

i don’t usually post discourse, but can we just agree to leave the actor / actor stans alone? we don’t know anything about him, really, all of his supposed  ‘ sins ’  were only told to us. all we had to go by in wkm for how ‘bad’ he was were the words of the colonel, and the words of damien.
the man who shot us, and the man who was puppetted to convince us to let the manor entity in. there are allusions in wkm, if you look at the pinboard, ( ‘local mayor secretly a demon?’ )  if you look around -- that this is a dramatic retelling of a story, anyway, rather than a perfectly accurate one.
it takes place somewhere between 1920 and 1950, as mark said in his explanation stream -- little buddy shouldn’t exist, the jims shouldn’t exist, but they were necessary to show parts of the story you wouldn’t otherwise see.
it’s a story, like everything else. not a perfectly accurate documentary.
and as for the damien short? there’s a good deal of evidence to support the fact that the actor in that isn’t the actor.  but these things stand out the most.
1.) he has damien’s cane. the last hand we see that in is darkiplier’s 2.) damien is the only skit on the channel that has no irl elements to it. not a single one. 3.) it’s called ‘damien’? all of the other skits, again, have mark’s name in them -- except for mother loving warfstache -- 4.) mother loving warfstache doesn’t have mark in it, neither does damien. 5.) the ‘mark’ we see speaks nonsense, basically just says whatever might piss damien off -- “my humble upbringing”? according to wkm, mark and the colonel have been living in this house since they were children, a mansion -- mark isn’t that delusional. 6.) he implies he ‘cursed celine’ somehow, which again, goes against the whole ‘he didn’t want to hurt celine’ established in mark’s explanation of wkm 7.) the actor flickers between red and blue during the entire skit?? like someone else we know?? 8.) ‘who’s the real darkiplier’? later: ‘i just said that to fuck with ya’ll’ ---  this entire thing, was designed to fuck with us.  9.) at some point we have thought, every member of who killed markiplier, was dark. when wkm came out, everyone thought damien was dark. when the end was revealed, people thought dark was celine because of the whole ‘don’t trust the seer’ thing, and her aggression etc. now people think mark is dark. 10.) we’re forgetting entirely about the house entity, this thing that manipulated, everyone into doing it’s bidding, canonically puppeted the souls of damien and celine in order to trick you. 11.) THE TRUE DARKIPLIER IS THE ENTITY OF MARKIPLIER MANOR 12.) dark is a social manipulator --   the manor is a social manipulator. 13.) the mark you see in damien is a puppet created from probably --  a part of the original mark, at Best, and celine and damien’s worst thoughts about him. just like the celine and damien you see at the end of wkm, it wasn’t real. it was designed to trick damien and perhaps celine out. 14.) a huge part of social manipulation? gaslighting.
if you argue / comment in reblog on this post disagreeing i will literally take a cleaver to your fingers.
