i do have a very self indulgent question, particularly about Monster AU Ghost and Price, but also extending towards the rest of 141 with their involvement

at one point you mentioned that wraiths were rare, and ghost would likely feel pity towards another one

what would happen if they did come across another wraith? especially someone fairly fresh, maybe even young, younger than any of them. is there anything anyone could do to help them? would they help? price seems to know how to handle ghost well enough, and seems like hes been around since ghost's transformation, but how would ghost himself handle seeing someone else go through something like what he did? if he had to, what advice would he give them that he never got?

this!! is!! such a good question, anon!!!! I think there's a lot of sides to that kind of situation, especially if it’s a younger person since I hc Ghost as having a massive soft spot for kids.

I think if it was just Ghost and the newly-born wraith, he'd try to mercy-kill it. The circumstances that lead to the creation of a wraith are truly harrowing, and while Simon understands the desire for revenge that burns at the core of every freshly made wraith, he also believes their plight is a kind of torture. In his mind, it would be kind to put one out of their misery. He wouldn't take any pleasure in it - I think overall, it would be a miserable affair for all parties involved.

If Price or any of the others were around, I think they’d try to convince him to take them under his wing so to speak. But while Ghost currently operates decently with his support system, he’s extremely lucky and should be considered the exception to the trend. Price was instrumental in his recovery - years of working under him solidified Price in his subconscious as an authority figure he could trust. When Ghost lost control, he could still rely on instinct - even with his mind fracturing, Price never changed. But not everyone has this kind of person immediately available to them, and it was crucial that Price got to him as soon as he did. What Ghost is now is not what a wraith commonly looks like. Price dragged him back from a brink.

New wraiths are sort of like rabid dogs, with no sense of self preservation. They’d approach every confrontation with the kind of frenzy you’d see in someone fighting for their life. They’d also be basically impossible to immobilize - you’ve seen how Simon goes wispy at times, imagine trying to handcuff a cloud of smoke. If it came down to a situation where any of the 141 were in danger, Ghost wouldn’t hold back. He’d put the other wraith down.

But if Ghost met another wraith who’d survived that first explosion of fury and managed to calm down, AND the 141 were with him, I think he’d try to help. They bring out the best in him.

Prayer request: please pray for my grandpa. He's having open-heart surgery tomorrow, and he has two other hospital-worthy health issues that they're going to have to figure out how to treat after that. He had a bad fall back in May, and while he was originally doing miraculously well, he stopped taking care of himself as well as he should have in July (right about when he should have been able to start doing more . . .), and that's led to a whole slew of issues.

Specific requests:

That the heart surgery goes well.

That the doctors will have wisdom to figure out how to treat the other issues.

That my grandpa will be receptive to whatever changes he needs to make to ensure these problems don't come back and new problems don't arise, and that he'd find the motivation to not stay in his current mindset (which seems to be that he's avoiding anything that requires effort).

This is a little selfish, but pray that my uncle (who's currently with my grandpa) would be able to stay with him for his recovery instead of making my mom come up again (after she already spent literally all summer taking care of my grandpa after his initial fall).

All the signs are there. It's not a good day.

He's quiet—well, more than normal—and just... not himself. There's an energy about him that screams to leave him alone like he's done for hours now, but Kerry can't stand it anymore. So, he approaches with a hand outstretched to immediately rest light on a tense shoulder. "Hey..."

Are you okay? sits at the edge of his tongue, but Kerry knows better; it's a dumb question with an obvious answer.

"Hey." The answer's short, almost a growl. It makes Kerry shiver.

"How bad is it right now?"

Vikt takes a terrifyingly long drag of his cigarette, gulps down his glass of gin like it's water in a desert oasis. He sighs, worries his lip. "Four. To be generous."

They're sitting out on the penthouse's awning, a breeze carrying the refreshing mix of the pool's water and the cut grass bringing some lightness to the tension. Vikt breathes it in heavy, exhales a plume of smoke; he's probably been doing this song and dance the whole time in an attempt to relax.

"Almost called up Molly this morning for something to shut it up," Vikt suddenly reveals. His voice is quiet, monotone.

"Fuck you still even have that bitch's number for?"

And the way Vikt looks at him. Not quite a glare, but it's damn close. But it isn't hostile... no, there's a glimmer of shame in his eyes. All he answers with, really, is a shrug, and Kerry has to calm himself down because he can't get angry. These sorts of days are inevitable—recovery isn't linear, as his guru likes to say. He breathes, holds it for a second, lets it out. "Well... I'm glad you didn't."

"Yeah..." Vikt huffs without a tangible ounce of conviction.

So, Kerry scoots on the bench to face him and immediately takes both of Vikt's hands into his own. Squeezes them tight as he coaxes Vikt to turn toward him.

"Look at me, babe." Kerry doesn't continue until Vikt does so. "I'm not—fuck, I can't say I'm not upset. But I... I get it, okay? And all I want is to just... to help you like you've always helped me. Look, I know by now, I don't need to tell you that, but, well, could do for some remindin' right now."

Kerry offers a smile, though he's not expecting anything in return. So when Vikt's hands grip back, strong and sure with thumbs caressing Kerry's knuckles, he's a bit surprised.

"I love you, amor." Short and sweet as it is, the sentiment is thick with adoration and sincerity; he says everything he wants to in those four words.

Kerry's eyes burn, but his smile only grows, and he gently eases Vikt to lean in closer and closer—until he's within reach for Kerry to press his lips to Vikt's. Chaste as it is, the kiss is so fuckin' intimate and warm, telling more than either could begin to.

It's when they pause and break away for air that Kerry gasps out, "Fuck, I love you, too," only to dart back in. Because goddammit, he wants to drown Vikt in it so he never fuckin' forgets.

im not exaggerating when i say i think about this LITERALLY all the time. its just so harrowing. regardless of what any given person thinks about the situation, its just so objectively scary-- to know someone and be good friends with them for so long, and then learn they were actively dying in front of you the entire time you knew them.... thats terrifying.

And its gonna be something that pretty much universally gives every hermit at least a momentary pause. When they finally see a Grian who isnt starving, who has actual energy, who isn't conserving as much as he can because of the food scarcity, that's gonna hit like a hammer. It's going to REALLY highlight just how bad he was doing in comparison to now, and that's going to retroactively scare a lot of people i think

A trans-identified male who promotes nudism has been reported to child protective authorities following a disturbing video beginning to circulate on social media showing him exposing his genitals and breasts in the presence of a small child.

The video first began to circulate on November 5. Reduxx is withholding the direct link to the video as the child’s face is not censored.

In the video, an adult post-operative transgender male is seen lounging nude in what appears to be a family residence. The man spreads his legs repeatedly, exposing his surgically-constructed vagina, while a young boy is sitting a few feet in front of him. He then stands to retrieve a trans-pride flag which he holds in front of his body.

Reduxx has identified the male in the video as Marie Willa Bobo-Smith, a nudist activist who resides in Fort Bragg, California.

Bobo-Smith, formerly known as Maurice Smith, has been a pro-nudist activist for a number of years, maintaining a strong presence in the nudist community since 2012.

Bobo-Smith has maintained a blog titled Simple Naturist for 13 years, regularly posting lengthy diatribes about his belief that public nudity should be made legal and protected by the law.

“As Americans, we live in an insane world, where you can legally carry and conceal a gun, but risk imprisonment should anyone see your genitals,” Bobo-Smith wrote in December of 2012. “We live in a world where children entertain fantasies of killing innocents in video games, but the sight of a nipple is unacceptable and psychologically damaging.”

Bobo-Smith began transitioning in 2018, beginning a hormone regimen. The next year, he launched a GoFundMe campaign requesting donations to help him afford the “gender confirmation surgery” he wanted to undergo with Dr. Marci Bowers in the Bay Area.

Bowers, a trans-identified male, is the current President of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health, and has become controversial for his role in promoting the medical transitioning of children.

An old Vimeo account belonging to Bobo-Smith pre-transition featured videos of the man doing a number of tasks while nude, including cooking, washing his dogs, and cleaning.

But in some of the videos he is in public, such as in one where he is naked while driving, and another while he is pumping gas at a service station.

In 2021, Bobo-Smith participated in a nudist rally in Fort Bragg, giving a speech at the event in which he condemned the stigma surrounding nudity and relating it to an experience he had walking topless following the hormone-induced growth of his breasts.

“Imagine: that as a transgender woman I am the living embodiment of a sexual double standard. Men can walk around top free and post photos of themselves on the internet and when a woman does it, she then becomes a slut, a whore and illegal,” he declared.

Bobo-Smith has been married since 1993, with his wife remaining with him throughout his transition. According to his social media history, he has children and grandchildren.

Over the years, Bobo-Smith has admitted to exposing his children to his genitalia, slamming critics of the practice as close-minded puritans. He insists there are no sinister motives to the practice, and advocates for nudism as a “lifestyle.”

In one post recently shared to his Instagram, Bobo-Smith uploaded a photo of a child’s doll representing a little girl with a penis. Bobo-Smith describes keeping a stuffed animals in his bedroom, along with a child’s doll intended to resemble a little girl with a penis.

“I got to have a great conversation with my grandson [name redacted] this morning. He’s six years old. He finally saw this naked doll sitting amongst our stuffed animals in mine and Marge’s bedroom,” Bobo-Smith describes. “When he saw it, he shockingly exclaimed ‘meemaw!'”

Bobo-Smith then describes a short exchange in which the child says “boys have penises,” to which he responds: “some boys have a penis and some boys have a vulva.”

On TikTok, Bobo-Smith has claimed he also has fostered children, with other “nudists” curiously asking him how he managed to get approval to become a foster parent despite his open nudism.

In the comments from a TikTok video uploaded in May, Bobo-Smith advised another nudist aspiring to be a foster parent that his nudism had been “addressed and resolved” at one point during the fostering process.

While Bobo-Smith has now deleted his TikTok account, Reduxx was able to archive multiple videos Bobo-Smith published following the initial outburst of concern prompted by the footage of him exposing himself to a child.

“People on the bird app formerly known as Twitter seem really shocked by a recent post of mine and asked ‘you mean your family and your friends have all seen you naked?’ Well, yeah. Everyone I know has seen me naked,” Bobo-Smith says. “I see nudity as normal and I do my utmost to show other people that nudity is a normal thing.”
