Hello! First time reader and first time visitor but all the Rika fanfics are INSANE and I love them sm. Oh right uh I saw there was something about Rika wanting alcohol… any chance we could see some drunk Rika moments cause I think that be adorable and dhebcoehnglchd

Drunk Rika? Say no more I got you because good lord I have quite a few drunk Rika headcanons which is shocking considering I usually don’t write about anything including alcohol djdhjdjshsj

Character: Rika of the Elite Four

It’s actually quite hard for Rika to get drunk

She is extremely tolerant so Rika actually getting drunk is a very rare occurrence

However when she does get drunk? It’s a goddamn sight

Rika is a veryyy loud drunk

And by a loud drunk I mean an extremely loud drunk

As in her volume control goes out the window and she speaks in yelling

So this paired with the fact that she is also a bit of a hyper and crazy drunk makes for some well, interesting experiences to say the least

You haven’t seen Rika drunk a lot simply because of the fact that she has such a high tolerance for alcohol and because she’s quite embarrassed of her drunk shenanigans

You’ll probably only see Rika drinking one to two drinks whenever she does have alcohol, maybe three but usually never more

She is quite conscious of her drinking habits and does want to stay healthy so she always watches when she drinks and how much she has quite closely

That being said eventually you will see her drunk

Theres a few factors that may lead to an extremely drunk Rika

One being if she was challenged to a drinking game in which her ego refuses to let her say know and her competitive nature causes her to get a bit carried away

Which leads to Rika having a lot of shots and then well, we all know what happens

A second scenario that leads to a drunk Rika is the alcohol proof being much higher than anticipated and/or her simply not knowing there was alcohol in a beverage

This is the reason why you witnessed drunk Rika in the first place

Hassel is quite skilled at making drinks so any events with the pokemon league where alcohol is appropriate he will usually take charge of it

The mixture he concocted hardly tasted of alcohol despite the fact that he managed to get extremely high proof alcohol into it

And by high proof I mean Everclear

Hassel even warned Rika that he used stronger alcohol in this particular batch of his signature mixture

But of course good ol’ Rika has an ego and kinda took his words as a slight challenge

So now you have to watch in second hand embarrassment as your extremely drunk girlfriend scream’s karaoke while standing on top of tables

Yeah uhm, I wish you luck

Dragging her home will be a nightmare considering how loud she is

In the car she will be singing her heart out at the loudest possible volume her vocal chords can muster

Don’t even bother trying to drown her out she will just sing louder

And god forbid one of her favorite songs comes on

RIP to your eardrums you might as well just get ready for the oncoming headache

Honestly, maybe don’t play music at all on the ride home or play an instrumental track but even then, Rika will still find an excuse to scream to it

Getting her into bed is an even bigger nightmare compared to everything else

As soon as you start pushing her to get in bed she gets whiny

Whining about how she isn’t tired and feels energetic and how she doesn’t wanna go to bed

Honestly she’s turned back into a toddler but she’s your toddler so buckle up buttercup you signed up for this

You’ll have to wrestle her a bit to get her in bed, that or promise her kisses and coax her to curl up under the plush sheets with you

Either way she will be incredibly stubborn but the kisses route is something you will definitely have more success with

Even when she’s drunk Rika still seeks out your affection

Although now its more like slurred I love yous and sloppy kisses that smell and taste of alcohol

The morning will be as expected

Rika will wake up with a massive hangover and a pounding headache so make sure to give her a lot of water and some pain medicine to help

She will be extra clingy and needy like this so play with her hair a bit and rub her back some before easing her out of bed to get a nice hot shower

After she’s feeling better though, show her any videos you might have captured of her drunk foolery or any Hassel sent you

The embarrassed look on her face is priceless

Spoilers for every red army route, more specifically Edgar's and Zeros

I have only done rays route so characters have a chance of being ooc! Some information regarding the characters may be wrong too so don't take everything said in these hcs as truth! Please don't repost my writings even with credit. reblogs are preferred!

Red Army

Lancelot Kingsley

Being Lancelots older sibling most likely means you are the current king of hearts instead of him. You're most likely also a magic user and i'd say you're about 3 or 4 years apart in age.

Lance doesn't show it much but he is SOFT when it comes too you. He cares for you and doesn't want you getting hurt but usually doesn't show it and he knows theres no way to avoid being in peoples crosshairs as the king of hearts.

A way he does help to protect you is by working in the shadows, very much like how he works with the magic tower in secret in his route he does it even when he isn't the king of hearts. He probably wouldn't be shocked too see you working with the magic tower either to gain their trust knowing you would want to put a end to what amons planning to do.

A normal occurrence is holding his hand while getting shots from kyle. You did this even when you were kids to help calm him and always held lances hand through out it all.

Lance isn't a man of many words but he will be there for you no matter what and will usually show his care through actions instead of words.

Sadly, it isn't often that you and lance get some free time to spend with one another but when you do it's always special.

While you don't get to spend much time together you two have a unbreakable bond that'll never be tainted.

Shine absolutely loves spending time with you and you're the small lion's second favorite human, it's first favorite human being lance.

Jonah Clemence

The amount of respect and just how much jonah looks up to you is just WOW.

Like with the lance hc due to being the eldest Clemence child you became the current queen of hearts and jonah admires you so.

Most of the times after training troops jonah wants to attempting dueling you saying things like "Well If in the future i become the queen of hearts i need to best the past queen!" He always seems to be trying to impress or prove himself to you. To show he would be a good queen if you were to ever resign for any reason.

Despite being queen you and jonah somehow can get your schedules too work together and go on outings at cafes to hang out.

Most times you and jonah go out shopping or hanging out at cafes and catching up on what's happened with the househould while you were busy with your duties.

You and jonahs outings are usually very peaceful and very fun and it's become a habit to always hug eachother before splitting ways. If you don't jonah becomes veryyy poutyy.

Overall you two share a very sweet bond that'll keep going till times end.

Lukas relationship with you thankfully isn't the him and jonahs relationship cause while you do worry for your younger brother you know he's a capable adult.

Edgar Bright

Being the eldest child of the bright family not only meant you became the jack of hearts, it meant Edgar's hands didn't have to be stained with innocent blood. Due to your age and shown prowess in swordsmanship Claudius chose you instead of Edgar after knocking off your father.

Before all of that, you and Edgar shared a very close bond. No one could break you apart and you cared for eachother. And Claudius used that bond to force you to do things. Threatening Edgars safety he pushed you to do more things. And so too protect Edgar as the years went on you pushed him away.

However Edgar wasn't a fool, ever since he was a child he always noticed the small changes that happened in how you acted and slowly unveiled everything that was going on behind the scenes. However he was powerless to do anything ever since the moment he found out and couldn't do anything as you pushed him away.

Like Edgar when Zero showed up you started mentoring and teaching him. And Edgar eventually started training as well under the guise that if you were to ever resign Edgar needs to step up and become the new jack of hearts. But in reality, he wanted to get stronger to help you.

Recently Edgar has been involving himself in business regarding the things you've have to do and claudius has taken notice of it. But no matter what, Edgar won't give up on trying to save you

While your bond with Edgar is almost little to none over the years of distancing yourself to protect him you do still have bonds. You share a bond with the rest of the red armys chosen 13 and you also share a bond with luka despite being on opposite sides.

Zero

You don't know for how long it was, but for a long time it was just you and zero locked away in that tower. And during those times you two bonded more then ever.

Even when you guys first stepped out into the outside world after being thrown out due to being no longer of use to the magic tower your bond still persevered. You two stuck together throughout it all. Through the school, through the red army, and throughout anything that came your way. And somehow you both ended up as spots as generals in the red army even without the noble background. Zero as the ace of hearts and you as the 10 of hearts, both trained by Edgar.

After all those years of being together you can read on another like a open book, extremely Intune with one another's emotions and feelings.

Sparring is a very important thing between you two and also a very fun activity.

Even if not biologically related, you and zero have a very close connection, and choose one another as family.

Often times you two will spend off time just relaxing and eating candy with one another.

Kyle Ash

Cool chill younger brother check

You definitely help kyle out in the infirmary in the red army base often and because of that you're well known by the red army despite not being apart of it

Whenever both of your schedules are clear you and kyle often go to taverns and drink and hang out. Of course there are other things you do other then go out and drink but most of the time it's just joking around and getting drunk with one another.

And once again you're an animals second favorite person. Goo, kyles pig absolutely loves you and whenever you come over you best believe you have a pig running towards your current location.

A extremely easy going and chill bond that shines most at unexpected times, you two are there for eachother through and through and you'll never lose that.

If you ever get sick this man will be rushing towards you at goddamn lightspeed and you best believe you're resting.

sad yuki headcanon! because i read your happy ones and i cant go 10 seconds without my favorite characters being in pain (exception being that i refuse to acknowledge ch 208) 😍 the only reason she travels and goes around so much is because shes got this "irrational" or pervasive fear in the back of her mind that her life could end at any moment (spv trauma?????? riko dying made her survivors guilt even worse) so she tries to fill it up with as many things as possible, sort of in a live life to the fullest way? i also think she absolutely HATES her birthday. since getting older for a very long time, meant that shed be a year closer to getting merged with tengen. so that day doesn't hold a lot of positive feelings for her. i still can't really wrap my head around her being stressed out by missions? i get her disliking them but cause of stress? im intrigued!

on a lighthearted hc, shes veryyy messy and disorganized especially because she had to learn everything about surviving outside from scratch so the first time she'd gone outside of japan was obviouslt tough but she wouldnt trade it for anything because that ended up being a catalyst for her love for travelling.

Its ok anon, I too like my favourite characters to be in pain.

I also don’t know why her stress would be by doing missions but I would see it as more as grief for her peers back when she was a student.

Yuki was obviously a special grade before even Gojo was born so she would have been considered the ‘strongest’ at the time. I would imagine that her attending Jujutsu Tech or Kyoto school (I’m inclined to believe the former because the higher ups would probably want to keep a close eye on her which would explain why she would want Todo to go to Kyoto).

She would have had some peers her age but she wouldn’t be able to connect with them as they would see her as either a traitor or a saviour. Now Gojo’s birth caused a spike in cursed spirits which meant that students like Yuki who were obviously unprepared would have either been slaughtered or left the field like Nanami did. This meant Yuki would have had to carry the load by herself until Gojo and Geto would become students. Maybe the increase in curses thanks to the Night of a Hundred Demons causes her to think back to the previous time it happened, to those around her being killed on the battlefield.

It’s funny to think that Yuki never got a partner or someone to confide in until Todo came into the picture. And even then it was more of a older sibling-younger sibling dynamic. Whereas Gojo had Geto and vice versa. And Yuta had Rika then when she left he had the second years. Yet Yuki in most of her adolescence had no one. A lone star one would say.

Also your light hearted headcannon is SO TRUE. I think her first trip was more of a necessity to get away from Tengen but then she started liking it more and more until she travels constantly around the world. She hates staying put in one area (contrasting Tengen staying put in the basement) so she makes an effort to visit everywhere she can

Akutagawa Ryuunosuke:

i love akutagawa ryuunosuke my angst child but i’m just like ‘hmmmmmmm’ when it comes to what his course would probably be

after extensive research aka reading his character page on wiki i feel like maybe he’d be a history major because,,,, he likes antiques?

well his clothes do seem very dark academia-esque and i can see him liking something as cool as history

akutagawa’s probably into something like war history but he’s not weird about it he just finds it really cool how different strategies work or analyzing what exactly makes the winners win

he absolutely HATES the fact that he keeps having to read the Iliad for class

he’s also that classmate who INTENSIVELY DEFENDS achilles for being a bit of a little bitch (but he fully agrees that patroclus and achilles were gay af ok this was random moving on)

akutagawa has practically no social life. he doesn’t go to parties, he doesn’t talk to his roommate, he doesn’t even like to eat in the dining hall

BUT he absolutely loves being in debate team because WINNING

he’s such a nightmare to work with though but he just delivers so well when it’s time for him to speak. like, if he’s on a negative and it’s time to hash out rebuttals, just prepare to get MURDERED

other debaters: “esteemed scholars and adjudicators...”

akutagawa: “you, sir, have no idea how wrong you are.”

that is until dazai decided to randomly show up at a debate tournament all ‘la di da da’ like and completely crushed akutagawa along with his ego

from then on he started stalking dazai and just SOMEHOW managed to end up in his circle of friends

even though he’s antisocial in real life, akutagawa 100% runs a dark academia aesthetic blog on tumblr i’m right and i don’t accept criticism

it’s actually really good he has a ton of followers and even does requests for moodboards if someone asks nicely

atsushi was the one who actually found out about it but he’s nice so he didn’t tell akutagawa about it

Chuuya Nakahara:

if this part sounds like i’m just thirsting for chuuya then you’re absolutely right i love wine man

don’t get mad at me but i can ABSOLUTELY SEE HIM MAJORING IN FASHION DESIGN I MEAN LOOK AT HIM

he’s just always had such a good eye for fashion and he’s veryyy meticulous when it comes to snipping and putting together clothes

chuuya also carries a sketchbook full of designs and his drawings look amazing and he isn’t afraid to just show them off

that said he doesn’t dress like a tired uni student at all, like he just always looks so on-point and unbothered by his five million deadlines

dazai: chuuya, i said this was a CASUAL LUNCH

chuuya, dressed in what looks like silk pajamas: THIS IS CASUAL

tbh if he just wore a white t-shirt and jeans i would die maybe he’s actually saving us from this ordeal

he has so much talent though as a designer he’s probably had several internships with design companies all throughout his years at uni

i feel like chuuya’s also really active in extracurriculars and has been in leadership positions in some of them (he probably runs the student org for fashion design)

chuuya in a student band though oh my gosh i can’t breathe i can’t breathe him as a VOCALIST?? and wearing torn jeans and eyeliner and that same hat in concerts ican’t brEATHE

okay in all honesty he would thrive being in a band chuuya loves the attention and the creativity of being able to design their whole look and write songs

tbh i don’t know if he’d have a roommate chuuya’s probably the type who’d rather have one of those single rooms or just rent a flat for him to stay in even after graduation

because his social life is super vibrant, he does have a lot of friends and he does make an effort to get to know all of them individually 

but he’s more open around those who he’s been friends with for a really long time and as much as he’d like to say dazai isn’t one of them, he is

also chuuya is definitely the type to party hard during the weekends and has more than once crashed in someone’s house after drinking too much (dazai drew on his face on more than one occasion)

Oda Sakunosuke:

i love this man SO MUCH you guys have no idea i would literally die for him

100% this guy majors in creative writing because this is supported by FACTS and not just me wanting to be coursemates with him in this fictional world

super serious and diligent with his work especially since he’s passionate about writing. he loves to read in his spare time and is such a fan of classic novels about social realism or philosophy

oda spends 99% of his time in second-hand bookshops that the owner probably knows him by name at this point

he’s super old school when it comes to writing though, like he still keeps and writes in a notebook before typing it up on a laptop and no matter how many times dazai tells him its impractical, oda just keeps doing it

lmao whenever workshops come around he’s super nice with his critique. i bet a lot of his fellow classmates like sending their writing drafts to him

he draws smiley faces and always adds ‘nice work’ on people’s drafts omg i love odasaku

he’s such an old soul, he probably doesn’t do a whole lot of partying but he likes more quiet, private social events like drinking with close friends or just hanging out and talking at other people’s houses

he and dazai probably met when dazai decided to take an intro to creative writing class and wrote a long poem about double suicide on his first day that kind of put off everyone in the class from wanting to sit with him

odasaku was the only one who wasn’t exactly bothered but he did give dazai some comments to help him with his poetry and dazai instantly wanted to be his friend

in terms of extracurricular life, i can definitely see odasaku joining a writing organization and even the campus newspaper. he does find joy in interviewing students for newspaper articles

he’s also pretty into photography and uses a really old, second-hand camera that he bought at an antique store and fixed himself. at one point he won a prize in a contest

odasaku would be the best roommate. he’s super sensitive to when you have a bad day and will invite you to sit on his bed and hug his pillow and talk about your problems

scratch that, everyone talks to odasaku about their problems and now your room is like a therapist’s office

Edgar Allan Poe:

ANOTHER CREATIVE WRITING BUDDY AHHH I WOULD LOVE TO BE BESTIES WITH HIM AHHH

well actually i feel like since he’s super ambitious and already has a fixed idea on the stuff he likes to write, he’d probably double major in something like forensic science because he’d use it to write his mystery novels

omg that’s where he meets ranpo and now pretty much every main character poe writes is slightly based on on ranpo

it’s a problem. his professor brings it up more than once during his classes but it’s poe’s Thing now

he also has such an unending passion for gothic literature and he wears those white, long-sleeved blouses and waistcoats on a REGULAR BASIS

chuuya probably saw him once and was like ‘hmm, i could pull that off’

poe’s daily route is just going to the library and to class and then go home and that’s about it

he ended up working as a student assistant at the library because he’s just super familiar with the book collections and it’s a job that’s peaceful and quiet 

more than once though, he’d just be really in-deep with his writing to the point that he doesn’t even notice that the library has closed or that he hasn’t eaten the entire day

that’s alright though because ranpo always passes by the library at night to check on his friend and (reluctantly) give him some snacks

also since poe’s pretty much a recluse, he doesn’t go to any social event UNLESS it’s a halloween-themed one

he loves going all out with his costumes because he’s a Drama Queen like that but the problem is he keeps dressing up as gothic novel characters and nobody gets it

dazai, trying to guess his costume: umm,, Two-Face from Batman?

poe: IT’S DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE

there was this one time when poe took it upon himself to host the halloween party and it was EPIC

he basically designed it as a murder mystery night wherein everyone who came pretended to be guests at a house and then a murder happened

the only problem was that ranpo was conspiring with poe and it was pretty much unfair

except for the fact that ranpo was frustrated at how bad everyone was at deducing that he ended up solving the mystery for them

Fyodor Dostoevsky:

one of my favorite scenes of him in s3 was of fyodor playing the cello because god damn that is beautiful and therefore i am hc-ing him as a music major and you can’t tell me otherwise

fyodor is an absolute music genius and he was definitely scouted by the university’s music program and then he was granted a scholarship (because in this ideal university, the arts are valued)

he purposely decided to go to a university rather than a music conservatory because he’s also interested in learning a bunch of other things

aside from his music classes, he ventures into comparative literature and philosophy, even a bit of computer science at some point

people always assume that since he’s a music major he probably wouldn’t do well in other subjects but SURPRISE BITCH

anyway, fyodor’s a genius because god clearly has favorites

aside from attending class, he’s even part of an official orchestra and has even landed a few solos 

that said, he’s quite busy and very preoccupied in his own work to actually have a social life either

you’ll often find him rehearsing by himself in an empty classroom for hours and hours on end (someone pls bring him food he’s also the type to forget to eat or even drink water)

if you are able to catch him perform at an orchestra or just practice by himself, it’s quite a mesmerizing sight. his eyes are often closed so he could focus on the sound alone and his fingers move so elegantly along the neck of the cello

(sorry i just love people who play any form of stringed instrument)

fyodor also takes such good care of his cello. also he would probably kill you on the spot if you touched his bow

he has a fairly small group of friends and they like playing chess together (even though fyodor is better than all of them) and just talk about um,, idk philosophy and stuff (whatever it is smart people do idk i’m not one of them)

i have a feeling he actually follows akutagawa’s dark academia blog and loves his content, even to the point of requesting ‘cello player moodboards’

also because he’s a cello player he needs to take care of his fingers so he wears gloves a lot (idk why i find this hot)

Who is your favorite mysme character? ^^

that's a hard question lol. i really love all of them but there are different reasons for why i like each one. so instead i'll try to rank them from my favourite to least favourite~

1. jumin surprise ik

i love almost everything about this mf. and in many ways, i can relate to him. his reserved and professional demeanor that he shows is very similar to how i am in public situations. yet his rather emotional and anxious personality he shows when he's vulnerable is also relatable to me. his desire for peace and safety is admirable as well as seeing the ways he deals with his issues.

2. zen

very ironic that zen is right after jumin lol, but he's a very close second. he's more protective and affectionate compared to the rest and deeply cares about the people he loves. the difference between him and jumin in that aspect is that he's more likely to run straight into danger as opposed to jumins way of staying calm and thinking practically. i can't stand the rat tail though i'm sorry yall but i find it atrocious.

3. saeyoung

despite his behaviours in days 7-9 in his route, he's a lot better once you actually land the ending with him. i love his humour and his ambitions. the drive he had to go safe his brother is truly admirable. he would literally do anything to protect someone he cares about and has done it several times before in the past. the only thing i can't stand about him is....nothing actually she played the fiddle in an irish band~

4. saeran

he's a veryyy loving man, not just to humans either. and on top of that, he's very in tuned with his emotions. i just can't relate to his extremely forgiving nature, i'm one to more so want revenge (in the form of justice).

5. jaehee

my girl is amazing, but she has a tendency of overworking herself. she's very professional but has been dragged to the ground by the company. she's caring, supportive, and enthusiastic (especially when it comes to zen lol). however, she's just not someone i can get behind 100%. no hate against our queen though.

6. yoosung

i'm sorry but i wouldn't be able to stand this man irl. i quite like him in his ae and good ending though. but i can't understand or relate to much about him (ie. his gaming addiction, cutesy behaviour, love of animals).

7. jihyun

v has done some very questionable things imo. he's enabled rika's cult and allowed her to take saeran with her. don't even get me started on the odd photos he took of rika when she was still underage. with that being said, in his good ending and ae he's had a bit of a glow up. acting like a normal friend and gaining everyones trust again. however he has had to endure trauma from many things in his life and i understand how much that could've affected him.

but i still love them all, just in vastly different ways and depending on the route. jumin can be a bit of a bitch in jaehee's route and v can be nicer in zen's route. again, these are all just opinions and i have nothing against anyone who doesn't agree with my ranking/thinks differently of a character/doesn't like what i said about one character.

if there are any misconceptions in my list, please let me know. let's all try to keep this fandom hate free and welcoming. i believe there are meaningful conversations we could have, but as long as it's done respectfully.

Summary: Your love of horror movies comes back to bite you in the butt.

It was finally October 1st, the start of your favorite month of the year, full of apple picking, bonfires, and, most importantly, Halloween. You loved haunted houses and horror movies, even though they always scared the shit out of you for about 24 hours afterward.

You’d convinced Tom to watch a really scary movie that night “to get in the October spirit.”

“Ready?” you asked, switching the living room lights off and sitting criss cross on your couch next to him with a bowl of popcorn in your lap.

“As I’ll ever be,” he rolled his eyes with a small smile. He wasn’t the biggest fan of horror films, but he’d indulge you on occasion.

You hit play and eerie music began loudly blaring from the television across from you. You turned your head and met his eyes, wiggling your eyebrows at him and bringing a handful of popcorn to your mouth.

Half an hour into the movie, you were both squished into the couch corner, you sitting between his legs with his arms around your middle.

“I’m glad I’m between you and the couch. That way if someone comes for us I can sacrifice you first,” he said.

You smacked his knee jokingly but also pulled his arms tighter around you, as the movie was starting to really get creepy.

A little over an hour later and your hands were covering your face, and Tom had one eye open half hiding his face in your hair as the movie ended and the credits rolled.

“That was horrifying,” you commented, rushing up out of Tom’s lap to stop the scary choral voices in the background of the credits and to hit the light switch on the wall.

“Um, yes. I don’t know how you enjoy that stuff.”

“It’s an adrenaline rush!!” you exclaimed, bouncing on your toes.

You moved back to the couch, climbing back on his lap, but facing him now. “Nothing better than a little adrenaline to get you going,” you spoke slowly, kissing his jaw.

He laughed out loud as he wrapped his arms around you, pressing you into his chest. “You might be right about that,” he chuckled, sliding his hands under your shirt and over your back. You pulled back and kissed him hard on the mouth and squealed as he flipped you over onto your back.

“Shhhh,” he laughed, running his nose along your jaw.. “It’s late. Gene and Lorraine are gonna think someone’s actually come to murder us,” he said, referring to your elderly neighbors who you could always hear from your living room.

“You’re right,” you whispered, “my bad.” After kissing him again, you pulled your tshirt off over your head, exposing your breasts. “We’ll just have to be veryyy quiet,” you spoke.

“Mhmm,” he hummed. “I think some of us,”- he paused to kiss between your breasts - “i.e. you,” - he kissed over your left breast - “might have more trouble with that,” - another kiss - “than others,” - he finished, sucking your nipple into his mouth.

“Hey! I can’t help it,” you laughed.

“I know,” he smiled. “I love it.”

His lips met yours again.

You woke up in bed later, your head on Tom’s chest. His arm rested beneath you with a hand under your tshirt, pressed to your lower back. You rolled away from him to look at the clock, and in his sleep Tom rolled to face away from you. The clock read 3:30 AM.

You were really thirsty. You always brought a glass of water with you to bed, but your mind hadn’t exactly been focused on your nighttime routine when you’d moved to the bedroom earlier. You pulled the covers off of your legs with a sigh, knowing you wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep until you had some water. Just before your feet hit the ground, however, your mind flashed to an image from the movie you’d watched earlier when a demonic presence pulled a character’s ankles from under a bed. Your heart quickened and you pulled your legs back up and under the covers. You knew it was stupid to be afraid to walk to the kitchen, but the mind does crazy things - especially in the middle of the night after watching a horror movie.

After a couple minutes of trying to coach yourself into getting up, you turned to Tom.

“Hey,” you whispered, rubbing his shoulder.

“Hm,” he grunted.

“Will you go get me a glass of water?”

“Nnnn. You’ve legs,” he murmured.

“I know but I’m scared,” you said.

“So am I, you made me watch that stupid movie.”

“Pleeeease?” you whine, sliding your arm around his waist, spooning him.

“Unh-unh,” he said, turning and pulling your hand off of his stomach, holding you by the wrist. “You’re willing to sacrifice me to the demons! No way I’m getting water for you.”

“But it’s your fault I forgot.”

“You initiated.”

“You moved it to the bedroom preemptively.”

“You made us watch the movie in the first place.”

“You agreed to it.”

“You…..suck,” he said, dropping your wrist and turning back over.

You moved back into position to spoon him and he didn’t protest this time.

“Please please please my brave strong boyfriend who I love to the ends of the Earth,” you said, making your last-ditch effort.

“Hmmm, let me think….” he mused as you kissed across his back and shoulder. “Nope.”

He let out an amused chuckle as you gave up with a huff, steeled yourself for a second, and marched to the kitchen, turning on the hallway, living room, and kitchen lights as quickly as you could as you went.

You grabbed a cup from the cabinet and pressed it to the filtered water dispenser on the front of the fridge. You skipped the ice because it would cause too much noise (clearly attracting anything hiding out in your apartment to harm you). “C’mon, c’mon, c’mon,” you muttered as the cup filled with water agonizingly slowly.

You switched each light off and speed walked back to your bedroom, your heart racing. When you closed the door behind you, the bathroom door opened and you were so surprised you screamed, clapping a hand over your mouth the instant you realized it was just Tom after taking a leak.

“I could kill you right now,” you panted as he sleepily laughed at you, reaching for the water in your hands.

“Excuse you,” you chastised as you held the water out of his reach. “You can get your own.”

And with that, you plopped back into bed.
