“Mommy! Dinner is all done” Brooks says while grabbing my hand and dragging me into the dining room.
“Oh it looks amazing B. Did you do this all yourself?” I inquire, winking at Lance who is setting the table.
“No mommy, Lance helped me!” he shouted
“Oh did he?” I giggled picking Brooks up and kissing him.
“He’s the chef. I just take orders from him” Lance says, placing the bowl of pasta in the middle of the table.
“Well you two did a wonderful job.” I say, giving Brooks another kiss and putting him down.
“We made your favorite just for you” the 4 year old shouted from his place across from me.
“Oh baby you know me sooo well” I giggle at him before Lance pulled me into a side hug.
Tomorrow was our last day all together before Brooks goes to Matt’s for the week and Lance goes to São Paulo and Lance insisted that he would cook for us tonight. It’s been two years since we started dating and it’s been bliss. I was nervous at first because we are both younger and I was recently divorced at only 25. But Lance didn’t care that I was divorced and had a 2 year old. He loved Brooks like his own from the very start. Now we are 27 and 28 living between Nashville and London and I couldn’t be happier. He’s the one that brings out the best in me, always and I do the same for him.
Lance’s voice shook me from my thoughts, “Lemme take your plate y/n”
“Oh thanks, let me do the dishes? You cooked it’s only fair” I plead. The dinner was delicious and he put so much effort into it, I wanted to try to do something to make it up to him.
“It’s okay, let me clean them up. Take Brooks to bed and I’ll be done when you come back down” he insists, shooting down my request.
“Okay, okay. Brooks, baby, let’s go get ready for bed. We have to get up early tomorrow to have breakfast with Chloe and Scotty” I call for the 4 year old.
“Night bud. Sleep well, I’ll see ya in the morning” Lance said, giving him a hug.
“Night night Lance” he says, giving the driver a hug before sprinting up the stairs.
“I’ll be down in a few Lance” I say, following him up the stairs.
……………………………………………………….
After Brooks has finished his routine, I walk to my room and put on a clean pair of pajamas. I notice Lance’s clothes in the hamper, signaling to me he changed while I was putting Brooks to bed.
Sighing, I walk down the stairs and into the den to find Lance scrolling lazily through HBO.
“What do you wanna watch?” I ask when he continued flipping though the show options.
“The Conquest?” He jokingly suggests the show I made an appearance in during the first two seasons.
“Ew no” I laugh at his suggestion. I absolutely hate watching and hearing myself, especially an explicit show like The Conquest.
“Why not? You have some great scenes” he smirked at me, referencing the X-rated scenes that filled the “Game of Thrones” prequel.
“You act like you don’t see the real thing” I roll my eyes as he bursts out laughing.
“I’m only playing, We’ll watch SVU?” Lance settled, pulling me into his arms and turning on our favorite show.
We watched 3 episodes before calling it a night and settling into our shared bed.
“Are you still okay with hosting Scotty and Chlo tomorrow?” He asks, face lit up by his phone.
“Yes, of course. It’ll be great. I’ll go and pick up the food at 8” I reassure him. I love having Chloe and Scotty at our house. Especially right before everyone leaves for a week.
“Okay babe. I just want everything to be great” he sighs.
“It will be, promise” I say, kissing him and turning out my light.

“Hey!! Food looks amazing y/n!” Scotty shouts, barging into the kitchen with orange juice and champagne in his arms. “I brought what you requested” he said, putting it down and hugging me.
“Thanks Scotty” I say, hugging him back. “Lance and Brooks are setting up in the sunroom” stretching my hand out to point towards where they resided.
“Hi girl!! You look amazing” Chloe’s voice replaces Scotty’s.
“Hi honey” I say, hugging her. “Do you want a drink? The boys are out back.” I offer her a mimosa to start the day off.
“Oh yeah, I love how you make them” she giggled, popping the top off the champagne as I grabbed four flutes.
I made four mimosas for the adults and an orange juice for Brooks, before heading into the back yard. It was gorgeous out there. Lance had arranged the back yard to look like we were in paradise. Lights were up around the porch, the new backyard furniture was set up around a new table he had ordered and candles were lit up, despite it being 11 am.
After I set the drinks out we all went back to get the food we had ordered and prepared and arranged the table.
Our brunch was amazing. The love I have for Chloe and Scotty is unmatched. Watching Scotty chase Brooks around the yard while Lance, Chloe, and I talk future vacations fills me with so much joy. I can’t believe what I have gained in the past two years. Chloe has told me before that she’d never seen Lance like this before he met me….that sent me into tears. I just can’t imagine where I’d be without them.
“Mmh… If I may, I’d like to make a toast” Scotty’s voice rang through the yard and glancing over I see him. Standing at the head of the table, Brooks on his shoulders with orange juice to match Scotty’s mimosa.
“Eh let’s here it” Lance chimes up, his arms pull me down next to him.
“Not much but you guys are the fucking best. I-..”
“Scott”, Chloe chastised him.
“Oh shit sorry… hey Brooksy earmuffs man” he stumbles, Brooks doing as he says so as to not here the words that are most used in Scotty’s vocabulary.
“As I was saying….You guys are the fucking best. We absolutely love coming to visit you both here and I think Chloe agrees when I say you two are a fucking pair” he finished his toast but chugging the mimosa in his hand and tapping Brooks to signal his hands could come off his ears.
“Aww thanks Scotty, we love you guys too. I’m so so happy you guys travel to come see us whenever you can. Lance and I are so lucky to have you both.” I say, tears beginning to prick at my eyes. Yes I know I’m emotional…whatever.
I feel Lance’s hand release mine as he stands up. “Well since we’re on the topic of toasts… I’ll give it a go. Yeah?” He speaks, looking to everyone.
“Okay so obviously I want to thank Scotty and Chlo for stopping in Nashville for the day before going to São Paulo, it means a lot. To the both of us” he starts, motioning between us. “Uh.. next I want to thank Brooks for being the kindest and greatest kid I’ve ever met. You are such a good son, friend, and all around kid. And of course I’ve gotta thank you y/n. Before I met you I was a 26 year old that didn’t care about much. But since I met you I care about everything and more. You are such a good mom and a total badass all around. Everyday I see you use things you’ve learned before and put them into lessons for us to learn. You have such a fucking brillant mind and I love when I wake up in the middle of the night to find you playing the piano or writing a new song. You are and will always be everything I’ve ever wanted and needed. I told you a while back that you were my endgame….”
I thought my heart exploded during his toast but hearing the word “endgame” made it stop. I remember that night in Austin a year ago. He told me he wasn’t going to ask then but it was coming. Now I think it’s here.
“Will you marry me y/n?” He said, down on one knee ring shining up at me.
I’m frozen in my spot. I keep trying to talk and nothing is coming out. I already know the answer and I think he does too.
My voice finally returns to me. “Of course I will” I utter, the tears once pricking at my eyes fulling falling down my face.

Overall Assessment of Season 6
I’ve completed 15 detailed “Constructive Criticisms” posts regarding season 6 and I wanted to wrap everything up with an overall assessment for the entire season.
Even though 17% of the season’s 18 episodes were ok, overall, the majority of it wasn’t anything to be excited about especially since 9-1-1’s had some awesome seasons in the past (season 3 was the best). There were three good episodes but the rest could have been sent in an email or yeeted to the sun.
6x3 “The Devil You Know” had great cinematography and the acting from the main and recurring characters along with the guest stars was superb but in my opinion the storyline should have been included in a different franchise.  Mainly because it was so dark and heavy that it seemed like it would have been a better fit for “Law & Order: SVU” especially since Tonya Kingston was a special victim.  One thing 9-1-1 did EXCEPTIONALLY WELL BEFORE SEASON 5 was balance the lighter storylines with the heavier ones but for the past two seasons they haven’t done a great job of it.  Season 5 was heavy enough with Maddie’s PPD and Eddie’s PTSD storylines, therefore the third episode of season 6 shouldn’t have been that heavy and dark.  On a positive note, it was part of Athena’s origin story regarding why she became a cop and it properly closed out her storyline even though it started back in season 2.
6x6 “Tomorrow” was good but someone didn’t fact check a lot of the details for it and they didn’t ensure the continuity was there.  At the end of 6x5, the promo for 6x6 included Karen calling 9-1-1 but that scene was NOT INCLUDED in the episode.  Also, in CANON it was never mentioned that Chimney orchestrated Hen and Karen’s blind date.  Finally, the closeout of Hen’s medical school storyline wasn’t fact checked either since in 2x6 she said the reason she became a paramedic was because she got shot when she was 16 and the paramedics who came to help took care of her.  Then in 3x9, she told Karen the woman they saw at the spa, Stacy Mullins, was the reason why she became a paramedic.  So which one was it or was it both?  The audience will never know especially since she didn’t mention either option at the end of 6x6 during her explanation to Karen regarding why she decided to drop out of medical school.
6x13 “Mixed Feelings” was my favorite episode overall because it included A LOT OF BUCK & EDDIE, BUCK & CHRIS AND THE BUCKLEY-DIAZ FAMILY.  FULL STOP!  Their relationship was missing for 99% of 6A; therefore to see Buck and Eddie side by side along with the Buckley-Diazes spending time together again like they did in 6x1, it was absolute PERFECTION.  I’ve already explained in post “#15 – Buddie” how Buck and Eddie’s relationship is the main reason why I watch the show so I won’t elaborate.
All the other episodes didn’t meet the expectations that 9-1-1 established during previous seasons.
6x10 “In a Flash” could have been one of the best episodes of the season but IT WASN’T because the Buckley parents’ and Sang Han’s presences ruined it.  It was supposed to be about Buck being struck by lightning (which was shoved into the last 5 minutes of the episode) but they spent the first 40 minutes showing more of his parents, Chimney’s dad and Albert’s mother than they did showing the 118, Athena, May and Chris.  Also they SPOILED the majority of Buck’s injury a month before it aired with all the stills and promos they released.
Overall, my biggest criticism about the season is the show didn’t commit to anything.  Everything seemed like it was a false start which is kind of sad since they "thought" (I still don’t believe they thought it was the last one) or wanted the audience to believe it was going to be their final season.  My false start metaphor can be compared with a “false start” in a track meet.  When runners are on their marks and one of them starts before the starter pistol is fired, everyone must go back to the beginning.  That’s how I feel about season 6 because every main character was sent back to the beginning instead of showing how far they’ve come.  No one, not any individual character or their ships were shown to have moved forward.  The finale was a rushed mess and none of it made any narrative sense.
Basically, it appears there was no real purpose for season 6 and if there was one, it got lost in translation since things were discombobulated and all over the place.  Storylines were unequally distributed, recurring characters’ arcs were rewritten to make them likeable and the metaphors just kind of fell apart in the end.  If there really was a purpose, what was it?  The items below are overall assessments for the nine main characters.
Athena needed more storylines than what was provided in 6x3
Bobby’s AA sponsor storyline was atrocious and shouldn’t have been included
Buck’s gazillion storylines should have ended better
Chris deserves his own storylines.  He’s a main character but he never gets his own storylines even though Denny (bio dad) and Jee-Yun (Maddie’s engagement ring) had individual storylines this season
Eddie NEEDED MORE STORYLINES!  (I’ll keep screaming it because EDDIE DESERVES BETTER!)
Hen’s, Chimney’s and Buck’s quest for interim captain should have been handled better
Hen’s medical school storyline should have ended better
Maddie and Chimney deserved a better plot for their proposal storyline than that raggedy IRS Income Tax mess
May had one main storyline for the whole season but after that, she was barely there
After 6x18 aired, it seemed like someone had an idea about where they wanted the season to go but they didn’t know how to execute it in a way that would make the audience want to return after the HIATUS.  Additionally, a lot of time was spent copying storylines from other shows and it appears they didn’t think anyone would notice but it’s apparent from the comments that were left on social media sites, some viewers who watch similar series did notice and they were vocal about it.
In the past, 9-1-1 was unique but somewhere along the way they lost the thing that made them special.  In the wastelands of network TV, it was refreshing to watch a show that included everything instead of having separate shows for the police, firefighters and dispatchers like other franchises.
When the season ended, I asked myself the same question I asked after 15 of the 18 episodes aired; “Is that it?”  Maybe my expectations were too high but I don’t believe they were since I still watch episodes from seasons 2-4 (3x2 - 3x3 – the Tsunami were fantastic and 4x13 - 4x14; Eddie being shot still haunts me but I love Eddie so I'll watch all the episodes where he gets the screen time he deserves).
Was season 6 supposed to be their legacy? If so, then it was filled with a bunch of raggedy storylines that focused primarily on Buck while ignoring the rest of the main characters.  It was like they didn’t want to commit to anything risky or something that would have cemented the show as a groundbreaking TV series that would have audiences talking about it for the next decade or maybe even longer.
This is my overall assessment of season 6 and whenever the show returns, hopefully it will have returned to being uniquely 9-1-1 instead of some knock off version of the other 3 or 4 firefighting shows out there in the already oversaturated market of emergency television shows on network TV.
I’ve included links to all the “Constructive Criticisms” posts below along with their topics.
#1 - Lack of and/or inconsistencies with interviews, promos, stills, trailers, etc.
#2 - Recurring Characters OVERSHADOWED Main Characters
#3 - Undeserved and Unearned Parent Redemptions
#4 - Unequal Distribution of Storylines
#5 - Continuity Errors and Forced Narratives
#6 - Season Six or Season of Sex
#7 - Stereotypes in Season 6
#8 - Lack of Professional Development and Growth
#9 - The use of Metaphors, Themes and Theories
#10 - Bathena
#11 - Henren
#12 - Madney
#13 - Evan “Buck” Buckley
#14 - Edmundo “Eddie” Diaz
#15 - Buddie

Rules: List 10 of your comfort shows, then tag 10 people
I was tagged by the wonderful @twig-tea. I have a lot of these, comfort watching keeps me sane. So I'll just choose the ones that give me the most comfort.
1. The West Wing - It's my oldest comfort show and to this day I'll still rewatch the first 5 seasons. I love the writing and I just don't think I could live without seeing these characters every once in a while.
Tumblr media
2. Love Sick - Noh and Phun have a very special place in my heart. I love everything about them. Noh is such a great character. And I can't even imagine having other actors playing these parts.
Tumblr media
3.Avatar: The Last Airbender - This show is a masterpiece. It's a feat of storytelling, worldbuilding, and character development. Nuff said.
Tumblr media
4.Cherry Blossoms After Winter - I must've watched this show at least 10 times. For a while, everytime I was feeling down, I just put it on and it never failed to lift my mood. I blame the colours and Haebom.
Tumblr media
5.Doctor Who - I mean, it's Doctor Who, what can I really say? I don't rewatch it all, obviously, but it's always on rotation. It always makes me feel.
Tumblr media
6.Light On Me - Shin Woo is my comfort character. And Namgoong is a close second. I adore them, I adore this show, everything is great.
Tumblr media
7.Navillera - This show makes me smile. It makes me happy, and makes my heart fill up with joy. Deok-chool is wonderful and the dinamic between the leads is just wonderful to watch.
Tumblr media
8.A Tale of a Thousand Stars - It's just a wonderful show. Made even better by OS2. Tian is one of my favourite characters in BL.
Tumblr media
9.Law & Order: SVU - I used to watch a lot of police procedurals. They didn't require that much engagement and I liked the case of the week format. These days I watch way less but this one will stay. I still watch the new episodes and the old ones. I need Mariska on my screen forever.
Tumblr media
10.Be Loved in House: I do - This is probably the first BL that I rewatched. I was devouring different ones at that point but something made me go rewatch this one before other new ones. I love Shi Lei.
Tumblr media
A lot of people were tagged already so if you weren't, consider yourself tagged by me.

What are your top 10 favorite characters in general? Can be shows or can be movies.
Oh, boy. You putting me in a very hard position here🥴 Clarifying that the names I put are not in order of favoritism or anything, just the ones I could come up with and think at the moment🤪
1.- Wanda Maximoff.
Cause of course how can I not put my favorite witch and one of my comfort character🫡🧎🏻‍♀️
Tumblr media
2.- Natasha Romanoff.
Another comfort character🧎🏻‍♀️
Tumblr media
3.- Nora Durst.
Cause how can I not add her if she’s one of the greatest characters I’ve seen in my life, I’m in love😮‍💨
Tumblr media
4.- Peggy Carter.
She truly became one of my favorite characters that I could actually look up to, and of course a comfort character too🫡
Tumblr media
5.- Rosa Diaz.
The episode where she came out, it left a big mark on my life. It somehow changed me and made me so happy, she has always and will always be my favorite character🫶🏻
Tumblr media
6.- Casey Novak.
I remember seeing SVU and she was still the A.D.A and I- was in love. Even if I didn’t know at the moment because I was prettyyyy “straight” but I had the biggest crush on her. Still do🫢 Plus her voice? Her whole personality? Yes.
Tumblr media
7.- Amanda Rollins.
There was always something about her that just made me love her, the way she was so strong but vulnerable at the same time🫡
Tumblr media
8.- Olivia Benson.
The powerful and strong woman that she is, one of my favorite shows and favorite characters since forever🫡
Tumblr media
9.- Alex Cabot.
When I rewatched since season 1, I didn’t think I’d like any other attorney since my fave was Casey but then I started season 2 and Alexandra Cabot changed that for me😬 Her whole personality is a mood, Casey and Alex are a power couple😮‍💨
Tumblr media
10.- Captain Marvel.
I never cared about the hate she got, since I can remember, I’ve loved Captain Marvel, and when I heard that she was officially entering the MCU, it made me the happiest and that has not changed at all🫡
Tumblr media
And these are just a few characters that I love. There are a lot more but these are the ones I thought about at the moment😂

No one asked, but I made a comprehensive list of Ryan Corr’s movies/shows and if they are worth watching.
Here is how they will be graded: 1 to 5 Strong Bastards: The movie/show on it’s on 1 to 5 Perfect Curls: How much Ryan is in it
I’ll also add a little description about my general opinion on each.
Note to Ryan Corr and any associate: Please ignore. Thank you.
I divided between TV Shows and Movies, the list is long. I'm sorry.
PS¹: This is the list of stuff I watched, not everything he did PS²: I won’t talk about his acting, the dude can act, and it'd be redundant to say the same thing all the time
Ok! Let’s go and do this
TV Shows
In Limbo Banished
House of the Dragon (S1):
Show: 4.5 Strong bastards I’m guessing everybody that is here saw it. So you know
Ryan Factor: 1 Perfect Curls It’s only one curl, but when he appears on the screen he is perfect
Wakefield:
Show: 4 Strong bastards It’s a good show about mental health and general struggles, and how people deal with problems, from patients to staff. It's very heavy, and you need to be in the mood to watch it. There are too many characters and the episodes are divided with their story and how they interact between them.
Ryan factor: 2 Perfect Curls He is kind of too good for his own good. There is a sad sex scene that shouldn’t happen, but you can’t blame him for it. Appears heavily in a few episodes, but once his story ends, don’t expect much of him on screen.
The Secrets She Keeps:
Show: 4 Strong Bastards If you like thriller/suspense, watch it. It has some left and turns that are predictable, but still enjoyable, some infuriating characters (I got frustrated multiple times) but good acting all around.
Ryan factor: 3.5 Perfect Curls He doesn’t appear a lot on the first season, but he is there (looking sad and confused), second season he is way more on-screen, and he looks so good (understatement). And we have dork dance, interaction with kids (all your Modern Harwin AU fantasies). Just peek dad vibes.
Hungry Ghosts:
Show: 3 Strong Bastards This show starts so strong and ends kind of meh. The resolution and relationships seem rushed and dragging at the same time. BUT it is fascinating to see aspects of a different culture and as per my (very shallow) research Hungry ghost is a real thing in Buddhism, and they even have a festival.
Ryan factor: 2 Perfect Curls He is the skeptical white guy in the show, even after seeing some crazy shit. He shows up here and there, but not too much. He looks good but he always looks good, is a doctor, some people like that.
The Commons:
Show: 4.5 Strong Bastards I love the concept of this show, in the very near future the world went to shit (even more) because of global warming, it’s not difficult to see the reality they live in. My only main problem is with the main character, she always wants her cake and eat it too.
Ryan factor: 4 Perfect Curls Just my favorite Ryan character. Very smart, but very unserious scientist that looks like (in my humble opinion) the total package. His interactions with his goddaughter are perfect and I’d kill for them.
My Life Is Murder (S1E06):
Show: 3.5 Strong Bastards Murder of the week type of show. I like because even with murders it has a sort of light heart vibe to it, it’s not like Law and Order: SVU (or any of that kind) that everything looks sad and wet all the time. Also, Xena the Warrior Princess is the detective.
Ryan Factor: 3.5 Perfect Curls Family man who just lost his brother, very sad. His wife is super pregs, so yay for family and Dad Ryan.
Bloom (S1):
Show: 4.5 Strong Bastards About youth and regret. Most of the cast is older and when they eat this little fruit, they become young again and kind a new lease in life. I don’t want to say much because of spoilers. It’s a really well made show, you can feel the desperation on their actions.
Ryan Factor: 3.5 Perfect Curls It starts with Ryan taking his clothes off and running on the street, a great beginning. We see a lot of him, he’s one of the people who is older and eats the fruit. Ryan was more of the antagonist. He’s interacting with a kid, but more of the older brother vibes.
Cleverman (S1):
Show: 2 Strong Bastards CW level entertainment. There is a good message behind, if you skint and look from afar they did a good job with the message. The main is also a problem, he’s very passive and doesn’t want to do anything.
Ryan Factor: 2.5 Perfect Curls He’s the protagonist's BFF, when he shows the character is fun. But he doesn’t show much, he is not involved with the main plot in the first 4 episodes.
Wanted (S1E01-02):
Show: IDK how many Strong Bastards Two very different ladies become friends after they are kidnapped, also police corruption. I only watched the first 3 episodes, so I can really say much about the show.
Ryan Factor: 3 Perfect Curls (only 2 first episodes) Maybe the worst kidnapper ever? He looks good in a bulletproof vest, and way over his head.
Blue Water High (S2):
Show: 3.5 Strong Bastards (For a kids show) I’ll never shut up about this show. It was what made me fell in love with AUS teen dramas. It's about a bunch of teens competing to see who wins a sponsor and a place in an international surf comp. (Spoiler: Ryan’s character wins it) They all live together, they are friends and fight, all that. As a kids show I think it is good and it passes a very good message, the kids make mistakes, they are punished by it but never villainized.
Ryan Factor: 4.5 Perfect Curls (The show doesn’t have a lead) He was 16/17 when this was filmed, his hair is a disaster (but very mid 2000s) and I can’t even explain how this is the same person as Harwin Strong. Looks like he’s having a lot of fun.
Movies
High Ground:
Movie: 4 Strong Bastards Very good movie about how colonizers think they’re better than anyone else and justice doesn’t apply to them. I think it’s based on a real story about a massacre in northern Australia.
Ryan factor: 0.5 Perfect Curls Glorified extra. I think he has 2 lines in the whole movie, he’s a priest.
Ladies in Black:
Movie: 3.5 Strong Bastards It’s a cute movie, heavy subject but they manage to make it cute and light. It’s about immigration and sexism, but they don’t go too deep into either and everything is solved with the power of love.
Ryan factor: 3 Perfect Curls He’s a Hungarian immigrant in Australia looking for a wife, he has an accent, he falls in love. He is adorable in it.
Outlaws/1%:
Movie: 2 Strong Bastards Outlaw Motorcycle club, they ride bikes and do outlaw stuff. Look, the movie isn’t good and there are a couple of SA scenes. I hate every character (except Ryan’s and his brother). The actors and direction are good, but the lack of depth and character development kills the movie.
Ryan Factor: 5 Perfect Curls He’s the lead (YAY!) and the only reason to watch the movie*. Exasperated, loving and sexy are the words I can use to describe his character.
*or any other actor if you like them.
Below:
Movie: 4.5 Strong Bastards I don’t even know where to start with this one. It’s crazy and violent, also about a very important subject (I sense a theme here) about refugee detention centre and how desperate people do anything.
Ryan factor: 5 Perfect Curls He’s the main, and embodies the unhinged nature of the movie very well. He is a grifter who would do anything for money, but you can see deep down he's a good man and cares about people.
A Few Less Men:
Movie: 4 Strong Bastards This movie is all comedy. The 3 main guys have to take their dead friend's body back to England, but they have 2 brain cells between the 3 of them. A lot of shenanigans.
Ryan factor: 2.5 Perfect Curls Ryan’s character is back in England and he screams with the mains via phone a lot. Looks like he’s having a lot of fun with the part. Looks great in pastels.
Ali's Wedding:
Movie: 4.5 Strong Bastards If you like romantic comedies, watch it. It’s a real story about a muslin guy falling in love in a community they can’t really date, plus he feels a lot of pressure to be the perfect son.
Ryan factor: 0.5 Perfect Curls White guy in the movie, he’s in it to throw in a few funny lines, but the story isn’t about him, and he’s just another glorified extra.
Hacksaw Ridge:
Movie: 4.5 Strong Bastards Another true story, Andrew Garfield is a super religious guy who wants to be a medic in war but doesn’t want to hold a gun because god doesn’t like guns. It loses 0.5 point because the beginning drags a bit. But it is a very good movie once we’re in the war zone.
Ryan factor: 1 Perfect Curl He shows up mid movie, dies and that is it. But he looks very good all bloody.
Holding the Man:
Movie: 4.5 Strong Bastards True story (another theme), about a gay couple in the 80s - 90s during the AIDS epidemic. The movie kind of rushes in some parts, but you can feel they really love each other. It’s sad, but not one of those movies where people don’t know how to laugh.
Ryan factor: 5 Perfect Curl Main character, we see him in most scenes and there is a lot of skin. It’s hard to thirst over him when the subject is AIDS, but he’s so good in this movie. it’s just a little weird to see him in HS age with a 30 y/o face and body.
The Water Diviner:
Movie: 4 Strong Bastards I think it is a true story, if not, it looks like one. Russel Crowe loses his sons and goes to the place they died to try to find their bodies. It’s a very loving and sad movie. It’s been a while since I watched, I don’t remember a lot about it, I just remember I liked it.
Ryan factor: 1 Perfect Curl He’s one of the Russel’s kids, he only shows up in the beginning and has a lovely moment with Russel Crowe. But hey, Jai Courtney is in the movie and he’s very hot.
Wolf Creek 2:
Movie: 4 Strong Bastards Slasher!!! Brutal slasher, the kind of movie you feel anxious watching. The killer is HORRIBLE, a disgusting human being. It’s also loosely based on true stories from the 90s - early 2000s about the murders of turists in the Australian outback. I hate the couple in the beginning, too many dumb decisions.
Ryan Factor: 4 Perfect Curls He is not in the beginning, but he shows up and the killer hunts him. We see him suffer A LOT. He’s not dumb, which is good.
The end

NBC's Law & Order Franchise -- A Franchise in Disarray
NBC's Law & Order franchise (which started with the original series in 1990) has seen numerous changes over the years, but in this post-COVID-19 era of television, some of these new changes are not for the good.
Tumblr media
The Law & Order 2022 reboot is lacking what made it's original run legacy television, Special Victims Unit lost a beloved show runner/executive producer (Warren Leight who decided the leave at the end of season 23) and cast member (Kelli Giddish, who was fired at the start of season 24, which later resulted in controversy as details of her firing came to light), and Organized Crime which has had a revolving door of show runners/executive producers since it's inception BEFORE it even made it to air.
I'm going to start in sequential order in which negative change [IN MY OPINION] came into play with this once beloved TV franchise that was once taglined by critics and press as "Must See TV/Most Watched Television"
Please Click the read more tab below to read my thoughts on the brand and what I feel can be done to correct the course of the brand, before it's too late... hang on to your seats!
Law & Order: Organized Crime (2021-present, season 3) - a Disorganized Mess.
The Christopher Meloni led series has had numerous complications behind the scenes since the show's inception pre-production. Chicago P.D.'s Matt Olmstead co-created the show with Dick Wolf (and later Ilene Chaiken) and Olmstead left the production after the pilot ("What Happens in Puglia") to be replaced by Chaiken (of The L Word fame). Law & Order: OC never started with much of a premise and a way to establish itself as it started with Stabler mostly bringing Kathy Stabler's killers (the Wheatley's: portrayed by Dylan McDermott and Tamara Taylor) to justice. And in between that, Stabler and the unit going in and out of undercover assignments. The Organized Crime Control Bureau has never really been fleshed out since the series start; season 3 brought some new detectives into the fold to assist with that but storylines in the serialized series have been all over the place.
While Organized Crime was meant to distance itself from the formula of the Law & Order brand, it doesn't feel like a Law & Order show - it feels more like the Stabler show to where we mostly see Stabler as IMO this almost vigilante cop seeking retribution, in this day and age (and Stabler's because he should definitely be matured from this kind of mindset), it doesn't work. This show lacks "the Law & Order feel" (title cards don't even exist in this show except for one episode, "Gimmie Shelter") and I believe it's why the series doesn't hold audience much as SVU or even the rebooted mothership.
It doesn't help that the show is now on it's 6th show runner, being SVU's David Graziano (who is surrounded by a controversy of his own that seems to be being pushed under the rug and ignored by higher ups at the network and at Wolf Entertainment). Olmstead, Chaiken, Barry O'Brien, Bryan Goluboff from SVU, Sean Jablonski and now Graziano. What ever is going on behind the scenes at OC needs to come to a full stop otherwise this show won't make it to syndication status (5 seasons, 100 episodes). This show has a super talented cast that deserve the best; Danielle Moné Truitt and Ainsley Sieger absolutely shine!
Law & Order (reboot 2022-present, season 2) - more like crash & burn.
Now this show is really pushing my buttons and it's only because of how the stories are being written for this reboot starting from the very first episode. Dick Wolf and the network decided to give the mothership it's very much deserved second chance (it never should have been canceled) and they've managed to put together a stellar cast out of Jeffery Donovan (Burn Notice), Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Odelya Halevi, and Camryn Manheim. Sam Waterston returned as Jack McCoy and this season Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl, Necessary Roughness) replaced Anthony Anderson who only opted to do one season.
I'm not going to sugar coat this, making Rick Eid (who 'developed' a show that was already developed once back in 1988/1990 when he was still in grade school - it's a reboot where nothing has changed formula wise!) the show runner/EP over this series is a very poor business decision. Eid has had a poor history within the Law & Order franchise itself. He was part of a writing team that Dick Wolf and the network had to intervene and dismiss back in 2007 due to declining ratings on mother ship due to the decline in the quality of the writing at that time, Wolf made him show runner over Law & Order: SVU's 18th season and Eid "had to move on [to Chicago P.D.]", basically for the same reason. The. Same. Reason. It's a case of "Fool me once, fool me twice," we're on the 3rd now.
From the minute "The Right Thing" hit the airwaves, I knew it was 2007/2016 all over again! The reboot storylines are tone-deaf, have massive plot holes, pull directly from the headlines without much deviance, skew to certain political leanings (hard left and right) and is shoved into the faces of viewers, and problems with legal strategy that actually go against the actual law and procedures that wouldn't even wash in an actual courtroom (and yes I am aware it's work of fiction but that is why they have legal advisors on the payroll - or at least I hope).
And the characters? Caricatures. I can't really root for any of them - Samantha Maroun & Jalen Shaw (Halevi & Brooks who are great) are the closet ones who are actually being fleshed out as characters that can be relatable/likable. Cosgrove and Price need work bad! Cosgrove is basically a more hard-core Elliot Stabler with a thick Bronx accent in one episode and then another episode he's a young Lennie Briscoe/Michael Westen from Burn Notice mix; it's not consistent. Most seem to prefer him portraying Cosgrove in a Michael Westen-ish style as opposed to Stabler 2.0 (if that's the case swap Donovan and Meloni).
Nolan Price? I don't know where to start. Who is Nolan Price? I don't know honestly but I can tell you he is NOT a great prosecutor. He's no Mike Cutter, McCoy or even Ben or Peter Stone. Price is written just as inconsistent as Cosgrove is and the cases as they make it to court and trial make Price worse, because it seems ambition and wanting to win is the only thing this character has. "Bias" that just aired showcased Price as a colleague was murdered and he had a personal investment in the case. He should have be recused and maybe even suspended due to his misconduct. And Price's arrogance in this episode, telling Jack McCoy that he let him run with the case because "I'm the best." I love Hugh Dancy and he's a magnificent actor but this writing is hurting this role for him in my view.
And speaking of McCoy, where the hell is he? I understand Sam Waterston can't do what he was doing back in 2007 in the courtroom scenes and he is the district attorney but my goodness, his scenes "lack meat" now, it's all bone. Jack says something pithy about the case, yells a little, and walks out his office/elevator/outside. Eid said in an interview that he wanted McCoy to walk in the shoes of Adam Schiff (Steven Hill), if that's the case Schiff was way more involved in his prosecutors cases and had more say in the direction the cases go. Again, it goes back to the writing.
Unlike on OC, Law & Order could use a show runner change, and it could use it ASAP, because what's airing as quality in this reboot is tarnishing the legacy that the original mothership established.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999-present, season 24) - what is going on behind the scenes and on screen is especially heinous.
Warren Leight's departure last year was the catalyst, however Kelli Giddish's firing was the irresistible force slamming the immovable object - so to speak. Kelli Giddish was fired in place of Wolf/NBC wanting younger blood (Molly Burnett, Days of our Lives); not even a year prior Wolf/NBC faced a form of backlash after dropping two cast members of color - Demore Barnes and Jamie Gray Hyder - in exchange for one male (Octavio Pisano). Star Mariska Hargitay tried to step in to keep Kelli on the show but she was overruled by Wolf and the network.
Meanwhile something that hasn't been overruled but more overlooked; new show runner David Graziano's prior and current accusations of bullying, misogyny, and toxic behavior on sets and behind the scenes of show's he's worked on, including SVU. Graziano took to his Instagram to try and 'explain' his accusations but he did not deny them. How can you write and supervise any kind of story about women's empowerment, healing after trauma and sexual assault, inclusiveness, and justice as someone who has/is doing personal actions against that very stance? And how can Dick Wolf and NBC over look it? Money talks in short. He's also running OC for the last 3 episodes in this season.
That aside which is problematic of itself, like the mother ship, the storylines on SVU have taken a turn sideways. Season 24 started off pretty solid, it wasn't the best it's been in it's prime and younger years (S3-7, and again S13-17), but it was passable to view. Now? Post-Kelli Giddish it seems like the focus is on Muncy (Burnett), Velasco (Pisano) and the recurring guest cast (Kevin Kane and Jasmine Batchelor); ICE T and Peter Scanavino's screen time is noticeably decreased this season than season's past. And like mothership's storylines, inconsistency is on display in full view.
Under Graziano in his first 6 episodes (Gimmie Shelter is written by Rick Eid and Gwen Sigan as part of the season premiere crossover) were the solid ones, even before Kelli's last episode I felt a change in tone coming into play; and coming off of the season's Bronx trilogy its even more noticeable. It's like it's a mix of Eid's season 18 and some other show that's NOT SVU. The focus has gone off of the survivors, veteran characters, the pursuit of the worst criminal offenders, the pursuit of justice and the unit itself. SVU has gone off of the rails and if they want this show to continue to break records and preserve the legacy that it has both on and off screen, they better make some changes fast. SVU's ratings haven't exactly decreased but all this 'change' could soon have a negative impact on them; SVU's dominate the entire franchise right now as a show that's consistently been on air for 24 years now in a changing TV landscape.
In summary/my suggestion(s): the Law & Order franchise needs to undergo some major changes behind the scenes, starting with the gentlemen running these shows. I don't directly want to call for the dismissal of show runners/executive producers Rick Eid and David Graziano (certainly from SVU) but I do feel this is the start absent them being given a different set of marching orders that they should follow (not likely). The issues I brought up above only touch the surface, I don't want to sound nit-picky but things could and should be better.
This franchise is 33 years old and still going, and it could go longer and further but if there aren't any immediate changes that make an impact and turn things around, and the shows keep going about as they are: this franchise won't be around much longer. "The Story Is Everything" is what Dick Wolf has said about the L&O brand and NBC even used that as a tagline during the prime years on the network 2003-2007. That's where the investment needs to start.

Dagmara Dominczyk Filmography Review w/ Links Dag has had a great career! I think you can see her shift towards more interesting and prestige projects as she gets older, especially in the past 5-ish years, which is really interesting. Movies w/ her Polish accent have a ★ in the title, ♡ denote my favorites. If a movie isn't included, then I didn't want to watch it or couldn't find it lol. Additionally, I watched most of these projects on soap2day or flixxer!
Keeping the Faith - I could not find her in this? I think she might be improperly labeled on IMDb. Please send reinforcements and watch this Ben Stiller/Edward Norton/Jenna Elfman religious romcom.
Third Watch - Accessible on Tubi Procedural about first responders - Dag plays a morally dubious counselor that one of the EMTs gets the hots for. I actually beg everyone to watch this for a gorgeous shot of Dag over a voiceover "this chick is hot. if liz hurley and that other european chick who was in that one bond movie had a love child, this chick would be it" fair description! Rock Star ★ - Musical drama where Dag plays Tania, PR for a rock band and their resident hot girl. She's not in it a ton, but she's got a great scene where she gets to make out with Jennifer Aniston. Spoilers + transphobia CW - it's revealed midway that Tania is a trans woman, and while not really played for laughs, Mark Wahlberg's character is uncomfortable around her afterwards and she's effectively removed from the plot. The Count of Monte Cristo ♡ - Free on Youtube hell yeah! Dag plays Mercedes, the primarily love interest. She appears in the beginning scenes and after the 2/3 mark, but is pivotal to the plot. she's in some really gorgeous dresses and i assume the crew loved her because she looks fantastic the entire time. also, super great deleted scene here @ the 7 minute mark. They - On youtube! Unfortunately dull horror movie. Dag plays Terry, one of the adults experiencing night terrors based on childhood events. She only appears in a handful of scenes, but has a solo scene around the halfway point. It's alright? SVU ★ - On Hulu and Peacock. TW for CSA and graphic depictions of murder (its SVU). we all know SVU. if you don't im sorry you've missed out on the epic highs and lows of watching people get the shit knocked out of them and for a detective to connect it back to some random man they knew in high school. Dag has a prominent guest episode role as Kate, appearing at the halfway mark as a Europol agent who helps one of the characters track down a child trafficker. A lot of her walking around gorgeously and what's frankly, a great performance! She plays sensitive but firm detective very well. On Hulu and Peacock. CSA tw- suggestive images are shown of an actress who was 19 at the time, but portrayed at 14.
Tough Luck ★ - On Tubi. Please watch it. Honestly, I think worth the watch just for how weird it is. Dag plays Divana, the female lead and wife of a circus. owner. you read that right! there's a plot twist and i won't tell you what it is, but just know. i did not see it coming. On Tubi. Please watch it.
Bad Apple - I'm not even sure what to say about this movie? Dag plays Gina in a crime (?) thriller. She's sprinkled throughout the movie and is the main love interest for some guy. I genuinely enjoyed this movie but I'd suggest watching it under the influence of something to maximize the viewing experience. The Five People You Meet in Heaven - on vimeo Religious made for TV movie set in the 1940s/50s. Dag plays Marguerite, the main character's wife and oh my god she is so pretty. she's so gorgeous and talented. what was i saying? its set in a boardwalk? okay. i'll even ignore the weird racist subplot with like. a genie. sometimes we have to pay the fucking bills okay. 24 - on Hulu. Who the hell made this show up? 24 is a drama series where every season takes place in 24 hours and every episode is one hour of the day. Insane concept. Dag appears briefly as an evil lady - she's got a gun and looks great and wears some gorgeous earrings. Trust the Man - 2000s romcom! Dag has a brief role as Pamela and goes on a date with one of the male leads, there's a follow up scene where they talk briefly. Not a lot of screen time, but you know. If you're in a bad romcom mood. Mentor - on youtube Dag has the lead female role as Julia, a graduate assistant who's romantically involved with an older writing professor. She is great in this, injecting a bunch of charisma into a fairly bland film. Lonely Hearts - Warning for Jared Leto and moderate violence. Drama based on the real life murderers Martha Beck and Ray Fernandez - Dag plays Delphine, one of their victims. Dag is once again, a real talent and can truly transform what's on the page. She's got a brutal scene where she confesses her pregnancy to Salma Hayek that she executes perfectly. Also, she looks absolutely stellar in the 1940s styling. She appears around the 2/3 mark, which I recommend skipping to to minimize your Leto exposure. Helena from the Wedding - On Pluto Tangent time! My friends on discord and I made this horrific little fake movie universe called Going Down with all of our favorite middle aged actresses (including Dag and Melanie Lynskey). and who is in this? Melanie and Dag! They're paired together and have nice chemistry in this indie drama. It's pretty slow and they're scattered throughout the film, but I still recommend watching for Dag's microbangs.
Higher Ground ★ ♡ - on Roku. Do not. ask me about this film. don't even bring it in my vicinity. Dag plays Annika, the best friend to Vera Farmiga's religious main character. Dag is fantastic, she's witty and charming to Vera's more demure character and they are super homoerotic. Like Tough Luck, I actually beg you to watch this. The Good Wife ♡- On Amazon for free. Lawyer procedural - Dag has a prominent guest role as a lawyer(?) for a South American company. Honestly she's not given much, but I love her suit. I mean, its the good wife, it's like pretty good. Suits - On Netflix and Peacock Dude this is the show Megan Markle is in? Huh? Anyways - Dag has a brief role as a woman who faced sexual discrimination in her workplace. She's only got 2 scenes, but she's like...there! Felix the Painter -On Vimeo A short film about a struggling artist, but more importantly, Dagmara looking stunning and speaking french. Go girls! On Vimeo Person of Interest - Free on Amazon - TW for domestic violence Dag plays a woman helped by the main characters in escaping her abusive husband. Not the most creative role ever, but Dag does well with the stuff she's given, especially in a really short timeframe. The Immigrant ★ - On Pluto - TW for domestic violence and nudity. Dag has a minor role as Belva, one of the burlesque performers working for Joaquin Pheonix's character. She's only got three scenes, two in the beginning and one closer to the 2/3 mark, so not much to say, but a good film overall. Jack Strong - On Tubi A Polish drama featuring her husband Patrick Wilson, Dag plays a FBI agent going undercover in Poland during the Cold War. While Dag's role is fairly minor, her real life history as a Polish immigrant who fled to the US due to her father's political ties makes it worth the watch. It is, however, NUTS that she didn't actually get to play a pole. what the hell guys.
Boardwalk Empire - On HBO Dag has a guest role as a drunk bar patron. She's engaging to watch and I mean, it's Boardwalk Empire. Worth the watch. Let's Kill Ward's Wife - On Youtube A dark comedy film made with some of her friends and husband, Dag plays Ward's wife and does. guess what. get murdered! She's insufferable (but ngl I was on her character's side), which means she did her job well, but jesus. I could not stand this film.
The Deuce - On HBO Dag's got a brief role as a. adult film consultant? and wears a pretty turtleneck and has curly hair in this 70s drama. This is where she met Maggie Gyllenhaal, who would go on to cast her in The Lost Daughter! Also, apparently Dag's scenes were heavily cut down in this episode :(
Abe - On Youtube Dag plays ARIAN MOAYED's wife. It's a drama about a half Israeli, half Palestinian family. Unfortunatley, in light of Noah Schnapp's actions surrounding the genocide occuring in Palestine, I would suggest you not watch.
Prodigal Son ★- Free on the CW Drama series! Dag has a small guest spot as an assassin called the Nightingale. She looks great and gets a fun fight sequence! The Assistant - On HBO Maybe this film was good? I don't know. I was hunting for Dag and she got ONE LINE at the VERY END. Mattmac jumpscare halfway in and his big sad horse eyes.
The Lost Daughter ♡ - On Netflix Drama featuring the Olivia Colman! Dag plays Callie, pregnant sister in law to Dakota Johnson's character. I watched this movie when it came out and did not recognize Dag at all! She's scattered throughout and I barely understood this film, but, oh Dag. Her Jersey(?) accent was a beacon of light to my confusion.
We Own this City ♡ - On HBO- Warning for graphic violence and police brutality. Biopic about the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force and the horrific corruption that took place. Dag has a supporting role as Erika, a FBI agent investigating the Task Force. Not a super prominent role since the show balances between flash backs and the investigation, but a well made show that's very worth the watch. She gets to play a flute. The Accidental Wolf ★- I did not see this but Arian Moayed wrote and directed this? Succ supporting cast I love you! You can find Dag presenting Arian an AAM award here. My Love Affair with Marriage ♡ ★ Dag plays the lead in this funky animated film about womanhood and marriage. Honestly on first watch it wasn't my favorite, but I've really come to love it's weird musical numbers and plot. Dag has a great vocal performance as Zelma, she really has some magnetic quality to her voice. Succession ♡ ★- On HBO Dag plays Karolina Novotney, head of Communications in this drama series. The show is a little slow and honestly not for me-- can you imagine. No, Succession is the series of all time and she plays THE Karolina Novotney, hot lesbian and resident man hater. Give me a scene where she isn't glaring Tom down. Go shivlina, go girls, I'm a fan. She delivers a fantastic and subtle performance, particularly in the fourth season. I love you Karolina Novotney. Bottoms ♡♡♡♡♡- BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dag plays a milf Priscilla ♡ - On HBO. Dag plays Ann Beaulieu, Priscilla's mom. She's pretty wonderful in this as well and gets to show off such a wide range of emotions. I love anything period piecey and Priscilla is a greattt film that actually engages with the crazy power dynamic between Elvis and Priscilla. Love Miller's Girl - On Netflix This movie was nottt for me, BUT. I loveee Dag's character in this. She's a mean horny lady named Beatrice and I swear to god my mind was REWIRED hearing Dag say "Or are some cunts....remarkable?" Honestly blows everyone else out of the water since they're doing these godawful Tennessee accents.
Congrats if you made it to the end of this review! Feel free to message me or send an ask if you watch any of these.

Theory time for season finale for SVU and OC:
1. Liv gets shot at the end of SVU
2. We see Elliott's reaction and panic at the beginning of OC
3. The reason why the TV listing says "Stabler and Benson getting benched" is because they (obviously) didn't want Olivia getting shot spoiled
4. This would be fun (but I think it's a long shot), Olivia has a vision, or something, of Kathy when she's unconscious and they have a talk about the next steps with Elliot
5. Maybe they talk about the 10 years they've missed
6. Did we forget that they filmed a black tie event? I think the event could be celebrating both squads for bringing down Shadowërk and that's where Olivia and Elliot finally get their timing right and start dating (and hopefully kiss)
Look, these all are theories that I would like to happen, but I'm not a writer on the shows.

I laughed when you said you regret reading the opinions on Twitter. I did too. I was wondering if we all watched the same show. So many people saying we got no EO. Like huh? Yes SVU was about Amanda but the EO was there.
Mirror Effect. Olivia was watching Amanda deal with PTSD. She wasn’t only seeing things from an ‘I’ve been through that too’ point of view. But she also saw how it was affecting Carisi and her kids. Amanda wasn’t taking therapy seriously and her actions was scaring the people in her life who love her. You can’t convince me that she wasn’t seeing Elliot in Amanda’s behavior.
And the being alone and learning to love yourself line that has people upset. That wasn’t just about her. That was about Elliot too. And Olivia saying that doesn’t mean the writers won’t flip things and have them move a bit faster. We just don’t know.
Then on OC. The show has often taken their titles from movies. Catch Me If You Can. A movie about a man who is always on the run. Taking on different personalities. That has been Elliot since Kathy was killed. In the bar, he saw the news story about the death of the cop with a wife and 5 kids. It hit too close to home. He looked in the mirror and finally saw Elliot Stabler. (Mirror Effect!) With so much pent up negative emotions, he did what he does when he can’t deal. He uses his fist. Hopefully this will lead to him going to therapy.
I feel like we are going to get EO but it’s not always going to be so in our face. We may get it in a more subtle ways until they can put Chris and Mariska together. This weeks episodes felt like progress to me. David is doing a great job working with the OC writers. People just need to be patient. The season just started! Lol
i've been thinking about this a lot, bc it's been three episodes, and i have seen people say they're disappointed in the lack of eo, when i've been living bc it already feels like so much more than what we were getting in the non-crossover episodes last season.
and the thing is, i wrote a post about this and then deleted it but i'm gonna say it here - it does feel like we're watching different shows, bc we are. everybody is going to bring different expectations and different backgrounds to the show, and those different perspectives will result in wildly different interpretations. a line i think is a positive for eo is seen as a negative by others; which one of us is right? ultimately, i think it doesn't matter. i don't think capital R Right is something we can be. i may disagree with people, but isn't a lot of this subjective? to paraphrase the dude, it's just, like, my opinion, man. so i do try to pull myself back. i'm don't manage it every time bc i'm not perfect but i do try to just. live and let live.
NOW that being said you raised some really interesting points about the epis i wanna talk about lmao
i find it really interesting bc i was so focused on the ways amanda's behavior reminded me of olivia - down to the scene of carisi disarming her at home just like cassidy had to do, to the point where i had to gif it - that i didn't make the connection between amanda's behavior and elliot's until you mentioned it. and what's really interesting to me about this is that both of those things are true - that you can draw a parallel between amanda and liv and amanda and elliot - and bc a=b and b=c, a also equals c. i wrote a lot right after elliot came back about the parallels between his ptsd and olivia's. and there's no way olivia hasn't noticed that connection, both to elliot and amanda. so it's a connective thread that's really fun to spin around in my head like a marble.
i wrote a post about the learning to love yourself line so i won't rehash my thoughts but - yes. exactly. AND we have no idea how fast the writers are planning to move things. we are getting episode four this week like this baby is just getting started we have such a long way to go and 2/3 of this shit isn't even filmed yet lmao
AND anon your mind!!! the mirror effect/elliot seeing his face in the mirror, what a connection! i am honeslty super excited about this season bc the shows are actually being written as if they exist in the same universe for once! the svu ME turning up on oc! nods to eo on both svu and oc! benson and stabler both getting mini mes to train! it feels so cohesive and that is so exciting to me.
i absolutely think we are getting progress. and subtle is how l&o has ALWAYS done relationships. no one knows when liv and tucker officially got together. liv fucked cassidy in the s13 finale/s14 opener and it was such a tease, we only saw her naked in a bed with two wine glasses on the table and someone in the shower, only got a little tiny nod from cassidy to reveal that something was going on. kurt moss appears out of thin air and vanishes just as quickly. a possible romantic something with bayard ellis was teased but never outright explained. this is not a show that hands us things. we have to pick apart the nuances. and the nuances say eo is full steam ahead, so i'm not mad at it.

I wanna turn it around to something more positive there’s so much negativity going around rn and like you while I agree with everything you say the more I think about some moron trying to ruin something great the more it bugs me soo anyway let’s not talk about s3 for now I wanna ask, what’s your favourite episodes from s1 and s2? I have a hard time picking my favourites but always enjoy hearing others!
Also how’re you doing? Have you been watching anything new/good? I’m in a cycle of rewatching shows I like rn it’s probably so unhealthy but it’s so easy😂
Favorite episodes from season 1 and 2? That's easy.
1: The Sin. This is where we see Din begin to change his behaviors toward Grogu, and even toward himself - and when he goes all in ... he's all in. This also shows that even when the other Mandos are upset with him, they'll protect him and do the honorable thing for one of their own. I do wish he hadn't let Pershing live, but oh well. I love Din's armor upgrade in this episode, and that extended scene where he destroys all the stormtroopers room by room and then when he's holding Grogu and defeats all of those guards with the Whistling Birds?? Chills. This was also where we saw a lot of Grogu's personality - his confusion as he's floating away from din and through the doorway? The way he reacts to Din protecting him, because I'm sure he can feel what's going on under the beskar? It's perfect.
2: The Believer. I love this episode for a lot of reasons, but mostly because Bill Burr is PHENOMENAL during that conversation in the cafeteria, and so is Pedro. The mannerisms and the facial expressions and just the absolute resignation at what is going to happen and has to happen and did happen? Both of them deserved awards for that, and again it proved what Din was willing to do to get Grogu back, no matter the cost. Mayfeld owed him nothing - didn't have to keep his secret, and it was the first thing that he said as soon as they got out of the firefight. That tells you what kind of loyalty Din inspires in people, even after he's fucked them over in the past. I also LOVE the holo message Din sends Gideon.
And I'm doing good! Glad it's starting to get a little warmer out and staying light later. I hope the weather just gets better and better. What about you, are you doing alright?
I've reached the bottom of the barrel when it comes to TV. I'm working my way though True Blood because I am determined to actually finish it for the first time. I'm watching Law and Order SVU from the beginning as background noise, and I'm in the middle of like ... season 4? I think?
I just finished Daisy Jones and The Six and LOVED it, even though I couldn't stand the book. I got through 5 episodes of Shadow and Bone Season 2 and then got distracted by The Night Agent and binged that entire 10 episodes in 2 days, and really liked that ... and still haven't gone back to S&B.
I need something else to actually focus on, so if anyone has any series recommendations, please let me know. I've heard White Lotus is good?
(Not Ted Lasso or Succession. I've had those suggested a ton of times and at this point I'm just going to wait.)

For your top 5 (or 10) fandoms who is your fave for each and why do you love them?
Oh god, that's a tough ask but boy howdy and I'm glad you said (or 10) cause honestly top 5??? Ooof.
This is gonna be a mix of new and old fandoms since, honestly, I feel like I've been part of so many TT^TT
1. Top Gun - Nick "Goose" Bradshaw
Tumblr media
What can I say? His mustache and terrible fashion sense compel me (not me wishing my wardrobe was his). But on a more serious note, I just love how he is with Carole and Bradley. He's also Mav's rock; the comedic support and his vibes are just immaculate. He's very "man written by a woman" energy, a complete dork, and I love him.
2. Top Gun: Maverick - Tom "Iceman" Kazansky
Tumblr media
Am I splitting hairs calling these two different fandoms? Maybe. Do I care? No. Because Ice needed to be on this list. I love him. I mean, look at that smile? Also, I think Ice is just one of these characters that everyone likes to paint as super serious, and I just??? Did this man not snap his teeth in a show of aggression? He's got a petty streak a mile long and knows how to keep up with Maverick verbally and in the air. He's got the range, and I love digging into him. Also also, it's Val Kilmer.
3. Six of Crows - Kaz Brekker
Tumblr media
This one was hard cause I could have pulled another above and separated book from the show, but for the purposes of variety, I will stick with the book on this (if it was the show, it would be Jesper). I love my fictional men a little deranged and willing to burn the world down for the people they love. Kaz is honestly the epitome of that, even if he's very stupid about it. I genuinely love his character. He's unapologetically a bastard and self-aware enough to admit it without finding too much fault in himself. He's got depth and violence, and I love that.
4. 9-1-1 (TV) - Evan "Buck" Buckley
Tumblr media
Buck is such a great character, and even after 6 seasons, he's still growing and coming into himself. He starts at such an interesting place as this earnest but dumb jock-headed fuckboy, and we get to watch him come to terms with himself, his struggle with intimacy and romance, and even now with his self-worth. I think Buck so easily could have been a stereotypical ego-driven character, but he's balanced on this knife's edge of cocky and sensitive, just wanting to do well for the people around him, that he's honestly very compelling.
5. Stargate: Atlantis - Carson Beckett
Tumblr media
Carson TT^TT (if you know, you know). Look. I've got a thing for sensitive characters, and Carson is great. He's also a character that grows out of his cowardice and fear, and I love that for him. He's a bit of comic relief and a good mix of level-headed and completely done that balances out Sheppard's more boyish energy and McKay's snappish ego.
6. Supernatural - Gabriel/The Trickster
Tumblr media
He's goofy, damaged, and makes it so sexual predators get eaten by sewer gators? Ummm? Yes. Gabriel could have been just a one-off character, monster of the week, but bringing him into the story at large and giving him this anger and hurt over the situation he can't control and thus, takes it on himself to force others into so they might feel like he does? I eat that shit up. He's not just this comic relief relatable angel, there are these brilliant moments with him that are just filled with depth, and I honestly can't get enough.
7. Beyond Evil (괴물) - Lee Dong Sik
Tumblr media
Please see above with Kaz Brekker and my love for slightly deranged characters. Dong Sik is this seemingly confident character who is always 1 step ahead, always thinking, and quick on the draw with his quips. He toes the line of "am I crazy or just that much smarter than you" and fuck if it doesn't work. But fundamentally, he is damaged and traumatized, and when we get to see that? Witness the broken man beneath the facade of control? It's as beautiful as it is devastating.
8. Law & Order: SVU - Rafael Barba
Tumblr media
God, never has a character had a better introduction to a series, in my opinion, than Barba. I mean... he literally let a sexual sadist choke him out in court with his own tie, I- christ above he's great. Dry humor, whip-smart, but not infallible. He's fun and funny in an interesting way, and there's just something about how sharp he is that's so great.
9. Star Trek (2009) - Leonard "Bones" McCoy
Tumblr media
Southern, snark, and unofficial James T. Kirk brat handler? What's not to love. Also, sorry OG Star Trek, but Karl Urban wins this one. That being said, of all the remake characters, no one embodies the original well as Karl Urban does, so I could have swapped him with DeForest Kelly, and my reasons would still be the same. The sass and attitude are just so great. He's grounded and witty and a fucking joy on screen.
10. Underworld - Selene
Tumblr media
She is iconic, and I would let her step on me. But also, as a character, I just really fucking love her? She's a badass, plain and simple, she honestly does what she wants and looks hot doing it, but more than that, I really appreciate her as someone who is distinctly cold and detached from the world and the people around her, but finds love that doesn't change her as a character, just elevates and encourages her choices. Her falling in love with Michael doesn't suddenly make her a ray of sunshine; it just gives her something more important to fight for than what she grew up believing she had to.
~
This was a lot of fun anon! Thank you for sending this in to me :3

Catch me thinking about inter-office friends between Law and Order shows (of which I’ve only seen 2 so far, but that won’t be for too long lol)
With Law and Order: SVU - I’m at season 5, and with Law and Order: Criminal Intent I’m only on season 2, so I’m slowly getting there :)
- Deakins and Cragen meet up for the occasional poker night, and on said poker nights they take bets on their teams for various things/cases/personal matters.
-> To date Deakins has edged out by 100$
- Eames and Benson became friends pretty early on after meeting, and will grab coffee in a little diner not far from the SVU offices to go over cases. They’ll deny if you ask, but they also gossip and have a lot of fun doing so.
- Cabot and Carver are tentative friends at best, but if they make some friends due to knowing each other, who else is to say? Also Cabot has called him out on dogging on Goren more than once, and he gets all grumpy about it.
- Finn and Goren met out on the street a few times before either of them realized they were cops. Finn just pegged Goren as one of the weird people watchers, and Goren couldn’t really gauge what Finn did for a living, which gave Goren things to think about the times he caught Finn walking by. It makes sense when they’re paired on a case, and Finn is skeptical that Goren is as good as Deakins assures him. @luxshine helped with this, she’s been a part of my Law and Order journey (for better or worse lol) <3
-> By the end of the case Finn adores Goren, and in turn so does Munch, who else can keep up with his rambling and take him down without much of a sweat?
--> The SVU crew are fascinated by Goren’s head tilt of doom, and will sometimes drop by to see him in action with a suspect. Popcorn has been made before, and Eames sometimes gets her basic paperwork done by some the poor SVU saps who don’t recognize Goren’s tells when they make bets.
----> Eames is no longer allowed to make bets with/about Goren.
- Finn and Munch carve out time to meet with Goren every week. Whether it’s to talk shop or just people watch, the three become close friends, and Goren appreciates the company. He doesn’t have too many friends, real friends, and neither Finn nor Munch find his mannerisms strange like most everyone else did. In turn, Goren likes delving into theories with Munch, and finds it fun when Finn rolls his eyes and interjects to pull them out of a rabbit hole.
--> Yes they basically adopt Goren what of it?
Can’t wait to start OG Law and Order, I have to buy the early seasons on DVD though :(

tag 9 people you’d like to get to know better
tagged by: @sculien 😘 and actually! @narvaldetierra tagged me in this too a little while ago so there you go! 💜
- 3 ships: EO (Elliot/Olivia) from SVU, literally almost anyone with Olivia from SVU (see this mediocre gif set I made lmao), Rafi/7 from Picard (but I haven't read any fic yet lol. That's the real test, but I just finished season 2 last week and EO is out of control right now lmao)
- first ever ship: I'm gonna say my first ship was MSR. I was 10 and it was 1996 and I'd literally never even been on the internet so I didn't know a thing about fandom, but I'd write little stories about them anyway. I desperately wanted them to have all the sex and babies LMAO. If we're taking internet/fandom related, I'll go with Lianca. That's Lena and Bianca from All My Children (first same sex kiss on daytime tv lol). I used to read their fics on message boards. I think they actually spoiled me a bit because AMC watchers trended older so there was pretty good fic. I find it hilarious that the word "ship" in this context was literally created for MSR which I was dead for, but I first heard the term related to a secondary Bianca ship with her sister Kendall. They called it Kinks, the ship to hell. 14 year old me was stunned and intrigued by this internet nonsense. 😂
- last song: Say Something by Jasmine Thompson (I have a google doc eo fic that I'm never going to post that's named after this song 😂)
- last movie: Matilda the musical. It was delightful 💜 Although I liked both the original movie and the Broadway show better.
- currently reading: Mostly fanfiction. Also, Kushiel's Dart which was recommended by a lovely lady here on the tumblr. I've never read it before, but it's pretty great!
- currently watching: I watch kinda weirdly little TV on my own for some reason. Like I need it to be a social appointment mostly lmao. I'm watching L&O SVU and OC on my own. Then I have a Friday night crew and we're currently watching Star Trek TOS and Babylon 5, but taking a break to watch the Witcher spin off atm. My Saturday night crew just finished Season 2 Picard and we're about to start Season 5 of the Crown. Oh we also watch Grey's when there's new ones.
- currently consuming: Lol an orange cream flavored water
- currently craving: Cuddles lmao. Someone come squish me up please.
- tagging these babes: Haha I already shot my tagging wad for the night so I'll let you tag yourselves if you want to 💜

Alot of these crimes shows feel like they have 1-2 seasons left in my opinion. Maybe it was the writing or who's in the cast or a combination of both.
Hey, Anon. Thanks for your ask. I feel like Chicago PD has one or two more seasons left, though I stopped watching after Jesse's last ep in S10. Even though I feel like PD and all the other Chicago shows should end soon, I doubt it's actually going to happen. I can see them milking the franchise for the cash cow that it is, and finally only ending it when the writing is so bad that their audience drops down to 5%.
I feel like The Rookie has maybe one season left, if that. The writing for this tiny season was terrible, and I hope things get better. But if it doesn't, I can still drop the show.
Criminal Minds: Evolution just came back on for season 2. I haven't watched the first two episodes that dropped yesterday, but I hope to watch them today. I'm enjoying the show so far, and hope it goes for a few years.
Law & Order: SVU has been on for almost 3 decades. The show isn't going to end until Mariska gets tired of it. And since she's the main character and making a hefty salary, I don't see it ending any time soon unless something comes up in her life that makes her have to end the show.
I think NCIS can go for a few more seasons, if the cast is for it. I'm enjoying the characters, but I really don't want to see Katrina Law/Jess leave the show as I really enjoy the actor and character.

25x11 Prima Nocta
It makes absolutely no sense that Rollins was just full on working the case and there during the rape kit and all that.
I do not care.
It was awesome to have her back. I loved the episode.
The conversations with Carisi, with Liv, her walking back in and just hitting the ground running, the group discussing the case back and forth in the squad room, the not knowing who the perp was for so long. Good shit good shit good shit.
The UC to catch the perp was written kinda weird though? I mean. The initial set up was good and kinda cute, with Rollins and Carisi working it together (even if ridiculous that a {sort of but maybe not??} non-detective and the ADA are the ones going under) but the UC bit specifically when the perp showed up at the room was just...off. It seemed like they were setting up catching him in the act, and okay no? They're really just trying to get the DNA instead? But then no one else seemed to be aware of that part of the plan but Amanda so. That was weird. Made it the weakest bit of the episode for me.
And the end conversation with Liv was a bit confusing, too. Did they think there were gonna have her (Kelli) back and then got word that they were not or word that they don't know yet at least and so then had to do a quick edit or something? Or are they're setting up a sort of consulting thing? Or... Just confusing to spend a whole episode obviously setting up a return and then to be like nah, Rollins doesn't really want to be back at SVU and Olivia thinks it's not what she really wants. Unless they're gonna move her to Original Flavor or OC???? But hell, a lot of the fun of having her back in this episode was how she interacted with this squad, both the OGs and the Newbies.
So. I just. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's also kinda weird/sad that 1) 5 people is a full squad with no room for additions. Sure miss the days of Season one where 5 were just the detectives we followed but there were several other detectives obviously working cases in the background. 2) part of that full squad is a Captain (with the captain of the unit also full on working cases like a detective haha) and an on-loan FBI agent, so no spot for someone with an actual rank of detective lolololol
OC 4x11 Redcoat
It's kind of weird, in a lot of ways OC is a way more solid show than SVU this season. The writing is really good, the acting is really good. And yet...I just don't enjoy or care about it as much.
And I'm still really sad that Sam is dead. I don't want to get attached to newbies on SVU 'cause they'll just disappear (where did Churlish gooooo) and I don't want to get attached to newbies on OC 'cause they'll just die.
Glad the ATF lady didn't die. I'm kind of surprised at how much I've grown to like Randall; I'm digging his relationship with Elliot. But since we are doing more with his family, wish we got to see more of his kids. Especially Kathleen and Eli. Which I guess is kind of funny to say when we did briefly see Eli this episode. And what the heck are they planning with him and his big news... Maybe someday Lizzie will even get to speak! That'd be nice.
Joe Jr. is gonna do something stupid and get himself killed is my prediction and Elliot is gonna blame himself and...hope I'm wrong. Kind of tired of people dying all the time in OC and Elliot spiraling. Then again, I'm kind of tired of him doing long stints UC too (tired of the frequent spiraling and the running away into other personas and him never even being close to available for his family) and that's the whole premise of the show so I guess there's why I don't enjoy or care about it as much. Huh.
It made me laugh that Elliot has no idea that Kyle is Vargas. Though it was really weird that no one from OC brought him up to speed on that part of the investigation and it's Randall giving him the run down.
