Devastated cause a genuinely very nice coworker, turned out full conspiracy theorist. "X country is now the most corrupt country on earth, well except for Ukraine." Sigh. I'm tired. I can't imagine how much more exhausted Ukrainians abroad must be with this shit. At least, they said Ukraine, instead of Zelensky, didn't pretend to respect the country by only accusing the president.

They also said it was a proxy war, what else is new, I pointed out it was Ukrainians fighting against russia, not the US (especially not now), but it was useless. It was like they couldn't hear me. Freaking scary that what it is.

Have you had similar incidents in which you felt like your support for Ukraine (and Zelensky) could make your interlocutor flip?

I'm so glad they didn't namedrop Zelensky, I had a coworker who was convinced the russian fake-news about him were true and was accusing him of killing his people for his own profit. I kept calm. I don't know how.

Meanwhile, Ukrainians in Ukraine are in drone hell each night. The blitz lasted 43 nights. It's been over 1000 nights for Ukraine. Seems like nobody cares in Europe, seems like they think it's normal, that Ukrainians are made to endure russian sadism.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this, especially at work, and I admire (and envy) your self-control.

The thing I hear the most about the war in Ukraine is "That's still happening?" and it drives me insane. When it comes from my friends nonetheless, it makes me question why we're still friends. And because I don't want to damage our friendship, I smile (a bit psychopathically) and say "Yes, and it's getting worse." I've actually gone from seeing my closest group of friends every week/bi-weekly to once every 3-4 months; they always change the subject when I bring up Ukraine, and so most of the times I would just sit there quietly while they talked about mundane things.

The second thing I hear most often is, as you've described, "Ukraine is a corrupt country though." My answer to that is usually (without patience), "First of all, which country doesn't have corruption? Second, guess which country heavily influenced the Ukrainian government for decades? Hint: it's the one that's currently committing genocide in Ukraine. And thirdly, can you name another country that's simultaneously fighting for their survival and weeding out corruption?"

The third thing I hear is another blood-boiler: "Aren't there like a lot of nazis in Ukraine?" To this one I straight out answer "I see the russian propaganda worked on you." and "Do you think I, a Jew, would go help a country dominated by nazis? Seriously?"

Like I said, unfortunately a lot of this bullshit is said by friends of mine, who willingly put their heads in the sand, because "the war doesn't concern us". They're not against Ukraine per say, but they don't care enough to question propaganda. So while I am seeing red and feeling my blood boiling whenever I hear this from them, I try to stay calm and just explain the actual facts. ...Usually I end up shaking and tearing up anyway, out of frustration and disappointment.

Honestly, I don't know what's worse: Having significantly reduced the time spent with my long-time friends? Or having them say this bullshit when I do see them, when they very well know what I went through there? Or them not wanting to talk about Ukraine at all because it's "scary to think about" and instead talk about the latest episode of whatever reality show?

If a stranger says any of this bullshit though, I have no reason to hold back.

And god forbid anyone, family, friends, or strangers say anything negative about Zelenskyy. I've said it before, I'll say it now, and I'll say it again: I will take a thousand bullets for that man. Do not dare criticize him in front of me (unless you're Ukrainian and you're talking about his pre-war presidency because I can't speak for that (and I'll still defend him)).

IWTV S2 Ep3 Musings - Armand & Lesmand & Nickistat (Spoilers)

We got the Armand backstory! 😭 The first half of this ep had me screaming at my screen, cuz Armand's a effing LIAR; I was rolling! 🤣

We were already told 1000 times by Assad & Sam that Armand's trying to make himself seem as sympathetic as possible. That is SUPER important, cuz although he's my favorite book character, Armand is a effing MENACE in IWTV, TVL, QotD, and TVA.

Ok, they've clarified my confusion about the weird 1556 date, cuz it implied that Armand MET Lestat in 1556, which is entirely wrong.

So I'm glad my suspicion/hope was correct, that the date was out of context. 1556+239=1795, which tracks with what Les said in S1.

So Lestat met Armand ONE year after becoming a vampire. (No wonder AMC!Armand dish-ragged him, LOL!)

No duh, if you've only been a vamp for a EFFING YEAR. (I looooove the Time-stopping Gift! So happy to see it used again--the horses are especially impressive.)

This seems like Armand's taking Marius' place as Lestat's mentor (Armand WISHES, lol). And it's kinda smacking of narcissist!Lestat using him then dumping him once he'd learned what he wanted, like Daniel & Louis implied later in the ep. (He even grabs Armand's hand & drinks w/out asking; mighty bold! Ok sure, he kissed it first, but still!?) But their dynamic is SO different in the books.

I have a looooot of issues with AMC!Magnus.

eggtan - I SWEAR THEYRE NOT THAT OBSCURE honestly i am beyond shocked when i saw they have just 9k subscribers on youtube i cant say that theyre an obscure one. i was so sure that they were up there bc i feel like en vocaloid fan ive seen has heard of them. but i digress. they also do really cool pop stuff to be honest if you put their stuff on the radio with human singers i wouldnt bat an eye. "I H8 U!!" is still my forever fav but "crashing into you" is also REALLY good.

Weevildoing - DEFINITELY check their stuff out if you enjoy story stuff in albums. its a bit more difficult now that the post traumatic manifesto is over but the internet archive has all the past links stored in it (thats what i looked through). personally their stuff is pretty hit or miss for me due to them doing completely different stuff for every song but when it hits it hits hard. DEEPLY in love with "refraction girl" which makes me sad its the least viewed song out of the album. i know it has to be one of them but no one wants to refraction girl with me :(? i also really like "chocolate box girl" and "faineant girl" is really important to me. btw all their videos have content warnings at the start so be sure to check those if you gotta 👍

Leopold pushed the doors to Fuegoleon’s office open with one hand. He stepped in, partially hunched over and with a glassy look in his eyes. Raising his head just enough to have his brother in his line of sight, Leopold muttered a weak, “Big brother… It’s terrible…”

“These files are old enough to be sent to—” Fuegoleon paused in speaking to Randall when he noticed Leopold in the doorway. “Leopold, what’s—?” He stopped again when he saw what was in his younger brother’s hand. “What on earth?”

An ice cream carton was gripped in Leopold’s hand. The lid was off, giving a view of the contents: a thick, soupy liquid that filled only about half of the tub. In other words, completely melted ice cream.

“Big brother, this is the ninth time this has happened…” Leopold mumbled, his dejected gaze on the melted confection. “I first thought that the freezer was broken but then I realized that the ice box was still full of ice and the frozen meats weren’t thawed…”

“So someone is tampering with only the ice cream,” Fuegoleon concluded. He touched his chin and his brow furrowed. “What a highly specific mischief we’re faced with.”

“I’ll go check out the kitchen and see if anyone saw anything,” Randall said then jogged out.

Leopold raised his open hand and clenched it. His lips pulled back in a solemn grimace. With a shaky breath, Leopold said, “To think, one of our squad members would stoop so low.”

“Indeed. These incidents are far too childish in nature for anyone in our squad. Not even the new recruits are so immature and brazen. Or at least, that’s what I’d like to believe,” Fuegoleon mused aloud. He then patted Leopold’s shoulder. “I’m sorry, Leopold. Was this the only one affected?”

“No. All of them were partially eaten and totally melted through.” Leopold hung his head and groaned. “I don’t even know how that would happen! I mean how does a whole tub of ice cream melt while… everything else… doesn…t…”

Fuegoleon noticed Leopold’s downward gaze was on his right arm. He had a feeling that Leopold hadn’t intentionally come to pin the blame on him. His younger brother was brash at heart but he’d grown more thoughtful in recent months. Likely, Leopold’s frustration with the repeated ice cream meltings had come to a head and his feelings were searching for an outlet. And Fuegoleon’s flame limb happened to be there.

“Leopold, think twice before you consider accusing me of anything,” Fuegoleon stated while crossing his arms. “You know as well as I do that these flames don’t truly burn unless I will them to.” He lifted his nose high. “Besides, I prefer sorbet.”

“Hrrm, that’s true.” Leopold groaned. “My bad, big brother.”

“We still mustn’t let whoever is doing this continue getting away with it. Summer is upon us and the squad should be able to treat themselves to a cold confection after working in such heat.”

Fuegoleon and Leopold locked eyes for a moment before nodding.

The next evening, a new batch of ice cream was stocked in the freezer. Fuegoleon and Leopold decided to hide themselves in the squad base’s kitchen. Fuegoleon squeezed himself into a closet where cooking ware was stored on the shelves. Leopold curled himself into a cupboard under the counter. Both made sure the freezer was in their sights.

It was time to watch and wait for whoever was to blame.

They waited. And waited. Waited. Waited. Waited… waited… w…a…i…t…e…d…

How long had it been? Fuegoleon could only guess it had been multiple hours.

Yet no one, nothing, had turned up. It was odd. They’d told everyone about the new stock of ice cream while also keeping their stake out secret.

Fuegoleon fought to keep his eyes open and his mind alert. He couldn’t risk falling asleep, well aware of the fact that he was a heavier sleeper compared to all his relatives.

Fwsshhh!

A sensation like a breeze rushing past Fuegoleon snapped him to attention.

No. There’s more to it than that… Fuegoleon thought to himself. Something was drawn out of me, like air from my lungs. But it’s my magic. I know this feeling.

His stomach began to sink as he nudged the pieces closer together in his mind. Specific items being melted. No one showing up for hours on end. And the sensation of mana being drawn from Fuegoleon himself.

That’s when something glowing a vibrant shade of orange darted across the floor and to the freezer.

Gods’ damnation… Salamander!

The freezer door creaked open. Not a second after, Fuegoleon let the closet door swing open and he heard Leopold leap from his spot. With a larger field of vision, Fuegoleon saw the Great Spirit of Fire—taking on the size of a house cat—perched on a freezer shelf and shock-still. Leopold stood with his jaw dropped at the revelation.

“It was you?!”

Fuegoleon walked over and scooped Salamander in his arms. He stared at his spirit companion with unwavering and stern eyes.

Salamander opened its mouth and let out a sound that was a mix of reptilian trills and the crackling of a fire. Its tail curled up, as if shy.

Its feelings poured into Fuegoleon. Petulance at being caught. Fascination with the dessert called ice cream, something it’d never seen before. Guilt for being unable to control its urges.

For a spirit as ancient as magic itself, there was a child-like innocence to Salamander…

“My friend…” Fuegoleon sighed. “In the future, do ask. And don’t over indulge yourself.”

Salamander huffed out a cloud of embers in reply. Fuegoleon shook his head and stroked a hand down Salamander’s back.

“I didn’t even know Salamander could eat!” Leopold laughed, pacing the room. “And a fire spirit like an icy treat? Who would’ve thought?”

omg hello! such a great question i could honestly spend hours answering (and i lowkey might have considering how long it took me to respond mb), i deeply apologize for the very lengthy response awaiting you

i'm gonna do my favs fandom by fandom cuz i wouldn't at all be able to actually rank them, lol

starting with Bob's Burgers:

tina's my #1 fav, always will be. she's so sweet and so nice, but she's also got anxiety and she's awkward and bad at math all just like me. alongside her just being absolutely hilarious, my favorite part of her character is the fact that no matter how sweet and nice she is, she's still so sassy and can deliver the hottest burns out there. the fact that she's one of the nicest characters on the show makes those burns sting so much more than louise's ever could, and i just love her so much.

and bob's my 2nd fav. i don't know if i can properly explain why i love him so much, i just do. he's not only one of the best husbands and fathers on tv (if not THE best), but he's also just awkward and funny so much like his daughter. i just love him.

as for minor characters, sasha is my ABSOLUTE favorite and anyone who knows me knows how much i love him. he's funny, he's zesty, yeah he's a rich kid but he's not a total snob at all. he helps out the belchers! they didn't ask for his help in "House of 1000 Bounces," he just helped them. he agreed to help them in "What About Blob?" at first to get back at glenncrest, but gene and his true purpose got through to him in the end. next to him is sam, and i love him so much cuz he's just me. his anxiety, the way he talks. he's just so real. i've never seen a character w anxiety reflect my own so well. also, the cheese episode??? i absolutely love that kid

The Amazing World of Gumball

gumball's my #1 fav, 100%. sure he's a menace to society and has committed many many crimes including selling somebody's parents, but there's so so much to his character and i just can't help but absolutely love him. he might have a handful of flaws, but who doesn't? above all, he's just a boy who loves his family and friends. he's a good kid. he cares about those he loves a lot, and he'll honestly stop at nothing to make sure they're okay. he's such a good big brother, so incredibly protective of his little sister that he went so far as to (attempt to) poison someone cuz he thought they were being a bad friend to her. he's also clever as hell, no matter how much he's told that he's stupid. delving into his mental health can be really interesting, there's a lot to him. also he's ABSOLUTELY hilarious

ROB, DUDE. ROB. with zero exaggeration, i can say that he is my absolute favorite antagonist from literally anything ever. he is THE anti-villain. and he's just a kid. with such a tragic story. i've spent so long analyzing his character for my fic, and i could honestly talk forever about him. i love him so much that i'm struggling to write this reasoning because there's just so much i could say. just... rob dude

a couple honorable mentions really quick. penny, of course, is my fav non-watterson behind rob. she's such a nice girl but she's also sassy as HELL and won't take any shit from anybody. i love her so so much for that, and she's also got a lot going on mentally that i don't see people talk about (ie The Shell & The Transformation). she's def such an interesting character

anais has become my second favorite watterson recently for a slew of reasons, but richard's definitely become a worthy contender, and as i write this im realizing i might like richard more so let's say they're tied lol. yes he's funny and lowkey relatable ("I either need some food or some therapy. Eh, chips are cheaper") and he's that "dumb fat dad" stereotype but that's not all he is and he even breaks some of those norms- there's even an episode that gives a real REASON as to why he's dumb! but there's just so so much more to his character that i feel like i never hear anybody talk about, and i am that man's #1 defender. of course he's not a perfect father, nobody's perfect, but he's a damn good one. his father wasn't at all, and richard wanted to make sure he didn't make the mistakes he did, and he's proven that the cycle CAN be broken. richard loves nothing more than his family. his favorite thing in the world is to be a father, and he wants absolutely nothing more than happiness for his kids and will stop at absolutely nothing to make sure they're happy. there's literally an episode where richard left the house the SECOND he realized gumball was in a bad mood to go buy him something to cheer him up. and he doesn't think he's good enough! but he is!!! and gumball darwin and anais love him so much! not to mention all he's done for nicole without even realizing. they're the loves of each others lives, they're soulmates, there's literally an episode proving how they were meant to be, and he's such a great husband too. he has so much love to give. there's an episode proving that too! he's so sweet and loving and happy and anyway yea i've spent a lot of time analyzing richard's character as well lol i love him very much

SpongeBob SquarePants

i think spongebob's become my favorite over the years, but it's really hard to say when the show's been on for 25 years and the writers like to change his personality depending on the season. if we're talking silly little guy who sees the good in everyone and has so so so much love to give and is THE most loyal friend there is and is lowkey so funny and isn't entirely immature and childish and annoying like a handful of seasons make him out to be, then yeah, he's prob my fav.

but plankton!!! he's my favorite too. there is SOOOO much to his character that i've spent so so long thinking about, even more so with the recent release of the plankton movie (which is INCREDIBLE and gave me the final pieces i needed to do a complete deep dive on planktons life and character if i wanted to). like rob, i've could talk about plankton forever too, so i'll leave it at this: yes he's a supervillain, but he wasn't always, and even though he WILL always be one, he still has SUCH a soft side lmao what a loser. for his dog and his wife

The Simpsons

like rob and plankton, i could talk FOREVER about bart. he has always been and always will be my favorite. he's done some not great things over the years, but the show's been on for 36 of them so i can ignore a lot of it lol. there is just SO SO SO SO much to his character. SO much. surprise surprise i've spent absolutely forever analyzing him too. he's funny he's stupid he's mean but he can also be such a great brother and friend, and he loves his family and friends so so much, and he CAN be smart and he CAN be nice and i just LOVE him. also, he's an artist! and his mental health is SUPER SUPER interesting to dive into and omg how much i could say!!

i think marge is my 2nd fav simpson. she's just so sweet. and such a good mother. and funny. my two fav supporting characters are milhouse and moe, milhouse for so many reasons, cuz he's dorky and silly and funny and a grand total of ONE character cares about him. so unlike the rest of the characters, i just love him!! who couldn't! and moe's not only funny but also all the guy wants is people who care about him... and he doesn't realize that he already has so many who do. take episodes like "Moe Baby Blues," "Eeny Teeny Maya Moe," and "The Wayz We Were" and you'll see why i love him as much as i do. and he also reads to children at hospitals!!! he can be such a nice and caring guy despite everything

Red Sky at Night by dirty_diana. <2000, E. I think this is my favorite of the Letty-comes-back-after-the-first-movie fics. They both feel very true to character, and the way Letty takes care of Mia is just the right mix of sweet and rough around the edges.

Letty feels hot, fire beneath her skin. It's weird, Brian was always cool, like sunsets and lemonade, like nothing could touch him.

Such a Pretty Girl So Tired and Waiting Down Below by sinuous_curve. <4000, E. These are the most-kudosed fics in the tag for a reason. They're both set during the fourth movie - in the first, Mia ties Letty's wrists to the rear-view mirror and fucks her with a screwdriver and the whole thing is just delicious and they feel absolutely real. The second has scorching hot strap-on sex, crossdressing, perfect Mia, and perfect Letty. It's also very sweet and fun in a way that a lot of fourth-movie fic isn't, since so much of it is colored by the knowledge of what's about to happen to Letty. sinuous_curve's Mia also accepts Letty for who she is completely without being passive, which is a fine line to tread.

Mia laughs. “You got something you want to do with that, boy?” She turns her head and manages an awkward kiss on corner of Letty’s mouth. “I like you like this.”

Damage Done and Goddamn Golden Boy by escritoireazul. <1000, T. These are sort of two sides of the same coin, set before and during the first movie. escritoireazul does both one-sided attraction and smouldering jealousy really, really well. Damage Done has a really good, plausible Mia, and I think you understand exactly what she wants from Letty. Goddamn Golden Boy is from Letty's POV - knowing Mia's with Brian, knowing that maybe part of Dom wants to be. Completely note-perfect Letty.

“You’re better than them,” Mia hears herself say. She takes another gulp, and it’s so sweet and cold it burns her throat.

like a star across the sky by escritoireazul. <3000, T. This is the middle fic in a series of three, and the most Letty/Mia-centric. It's another Letty-comes-home fourth-movie fic. For its length, there's a lot of complicated history packed into this, and it's really wonderful.

She blinks hard. She’s not going to cry. Letty doesn’t. She just gets things done.

Something Quite Like Home by escritoireazul. <2000, G. Pre-slash - Mia and Letty leave the state together after the first movie, and go to the library. This one has an interesting take on Letty, kind of different from anything else on this list. It's very domestic without being cloying.

She's got her sunglasses and Mia's walking next to her and the soft thwap of her sandals is almost music, almost the rhythm of Letty's pulse.

Laundry Day (Extended Version) by escritoireazul. <2000, T. Short, sweet, hot, and I think about Mia sitting on the washing machine in her black bra with a rip in the back all the time.

"You gotta relax sometimes." Letty's voice goes rougher, and she pushes away from the edge of the wall, saunters up to Mia.

Adrenaline Junkies by rsadelle. <1000, T. This isn't really femslash, but I think it's a really lovely, subtle look at the ways in which Mia and Letty understand each other. It's set post-Fast Five, but it was written before the sixth movie came out, so there's no amnesia.

Mia thinks about all the things she knows have happened to Letty, and all the things she doesn't.

Something of Her Own by Ceares. <1000, T. This one has teeth; it's sort of hopeless in a nice way.

Letty is hers for six weeks and then Dom comes home off the circuit.

...i feel weird about recommending my own stuff because i obviously can't be objective, but the tag is like 50% me at this point, and it's hard to sort through. personally, i like are you with me now?, a&w, star witness, rapt, serene queen, and me, i disconnect from you.

spoilers for bg3 act 2. not a big story spoiler but a great character interaction i had (i know this game has been out for a while but just in case lmao)

i naturally love the astarion character. him being a sultry vampire with a hidden agenda/dark past/self-protective “act” and an amazing VA who is clearly having the time of their life… it was over for me before i even picked up the game.

i’m not romancing him in my first playthrough for many reasons..

1) i’m a goody goody character and i’ve decided to try and play naturally the first time without worrying too much about maintaining my morals and romancing him at the same time

2) karlach is my lawfully wedded wife

so instead, i’ve gone for the next best thing— good-naturedly irritating the absolute fuck out of him, lmao

i’ve enjoyed imagining him and my Tav nurturing a sibling rivalry. it started in Act 1’s grove party, when he insinuated he wanted to have some fun with someone. when my character said “are you saying you want to ‘have fun’ with me??” he turned his nose up at me and said “absolutely not, i have STANDARDS” with his full chest. i swear i could hear that VA smiling. which, oh my god, absolutely SENT me… Astarion set my Tav up so bad LMFAO

i leaned in. in my head, my Tav lowkey understands that Astarion isn’t actually cruel, but guarded, so she doesn’t take his remarks personally and is more invested luring out his bluntness (like i am as a player).

his relationship meter is solidly on “good” tho, so it’s not like he actually hates me, thankfully. every time i switch to him for traps or locks, i love imagining my tav pulling at astarion’s arm and using the most grating voice possible to say “astarioooooon, there���s so many traaaaaps, please won’t you lend me your special standards and help out?” and him being like “🙄 really?” and i love it lol.

in my head Astarion is doing a bit. the “i will not stop complaining to hide the fact that i actually really enjoy being part of this team” bit. love that for him.

it’s important to note that up until yesterday, any time i’d talk to him to add him to my party, he would say the standard “well what can i do for you?” or “… yes?”

now! yesterday, i made it to the blood elf lady in moonrise who wants astarion to bite her. i’m woman enough to admit that i was 1000% mesmerized by her dom energy and was willing to let her drain me to the last drop. both the writers and the VAs deserves one million dollars for that scene

but the second she started treating astarion like a thing, assuming i was his “owner” or whatever, she shattered the vibes! i was instantly defensive 😭

astarion refused to bite her, and when the lady asked me to command him to bite her, i obviously chose the “he’s a person (you fucking dick!) and he said no” option

i had genuinely been moved to drop my own teasing relationship and defend him as my friend. i didn’t even want to chose the dialogue option that would’ve fit how i’d played it so far (something like “you DON’T want to bite her, Astarion? i’m a bit surprised”)

ever since that one interaction, Astarion’s voicelines have changed completely!

i was so taken aback when i chatted with him after and he said “Hello my dear (genuine)” or “How can I help you, my friend?”

i thought maybe it was serendipitous— maybe that approval just so happened to nudge my metered relationship w/ Astarion across a certain threshold— but i’d checked his meter before and it didn’t change significantly at all. definitely not enough to warrant this 180 flip, i don’t think

that was fucking rad! i like to think that from astarion’s POV, my tav had gone out on a limb and showed she does genuinely care for him. and maybe now he can start seeing her as a true ally and friend. even though i am annoying, of course.

i’m struck by what a great character moment that was. honestly kudos to the writers and devs for making that a pivotal beat in the astarion/tav relationship, regardless of it being platonic or romantic. this game is full of moments like that — it makes it so addicting and satisfying!!

That does make me wonder about the version of the Finn sword that grew out of the tree that Fern became. Is Finn (or a re-Finned Fern) in there? Shermy gets the sword, who we can all assume is Finn's reincarnation, which would make him the most apt person to have the sword anyway. I think it's an interesting concept to explore in Ooo 1000+ because there's a few things you could totally do with it.

Like for example the first thing that comes to mind is a reunion w Finn sword seeing 1000+ Marcy and PB and any other immortal, though it might be slightly one-sided since he's in the sword.

Another is Shermy potentially unlocking memories from his past life, the same way Finn did with Shoko. Maybe he would have to tap into them before he can reawaken sword.

But also what I would wanna see the most is how this version of Finn/Fern deals with grief. Main Finn is objectively terrible at it, especially where Jake is concerned. It makes me wonder how a "discarded" version of Finn who KNOWS he'll never reunite with Jake in a true way would be. But to some degree Fern had already thrown away that life himself, so maybe he'd actually be more accepting. Or maybe he'd be worse, knowing how his repression is...

And a lot of who he is will also depend on how conscious he was in the sword before Shermy got it. In my head he was in a sort of semi-conscious meditative state, and when Shermy got the sword he "woke up" though it might not be immediately obvious.

These are all just concepts I'm throwing out there for if this ever got explored. Feel sad about the sword with me.

YOUR TAGS ON THEEEE TOM LOOKING AT GREG ACROSS THE AISLE POST I DSDJKSDJSKJDJKS we shake hands that ep is my entire life for so many reasons i hhhhhhhhhhh. tom's suit being called a gregory. the two of them dressed in black and white when greg says "i do" true to marriage tradition. the fact that when tom sits down in front of greg he literally looks like he's getting on one knee. the way their knees are touching. the way they are sitting so close. the way the two waiters in the background are playfully smacking each other on the ass with towels and both greg and tom look at them wistfully before talking like god i wish that were us. the way greg teases tom a little with the well... keeping him hanging on a little bit. the way greg says "of course". the way their conversation [in that connor asks willa if she really wants this, bc she's kind of giving up her soul wrt money and she says yes i am and i do like the security and wealth but she also likes connor for himself, and connor talks about the age gap!!! and discrepancy in their positions and how they met and came to be and how everyone is always making fun of him/their relationship but she takes him serious and confirms she does want it and then they giggle and laugh it off just like a certain other couple] and body position mirrors connor and willa as well as the cinematography/shots who do actually get married in 4x03 [alone. without the siblings there. almost like a secret ish wedding. hmmm]. the way that nb said 'they wish they were getting married' and the way these mfs act you Know that's actually true and real. the way tom drops the "sporus". the way that after they shake hands, greg's arms twitch out as if to hug tom but then he decides against it bc he's not sure if tom would like that and he doesn't want to ruin this, because everybody else shrinks away from his touch or is disgusted by him but tom opens his arms and greg leaps at the chance, taking tom's shoulders and pulling him in slightly and hugging him tightly, tom literally jostled by the force of the hug.

i Think about the "come with me, sporus" scene a lot.

i think what helped me was just... yes, support from everyone is extremely conditional. i have to accept my feminism is not personal. it will be one very sided. i will work hard, very hard, for many women that do not like me. some will not care for me bc i am bisexual, some will not care for me bc i am the wrong type of victim. they will justify why they do not care about me.
