The pages are all about curiosity and discovering their element. In this case the swords. The swords represent intellectualism, communication, knowledge, thinking, growing of the mind. We immediately saw a picture of a younger Erik, sharpening his mind and discovering that although people seem to find his appearance revolting, his unique mind and intelligence is appreciated (and unfortunately used, but that is another story). He learns to design, build and use his extraordinary mind for great things. Trying new skills and talents is also something for the Pentacles, but we felt that in Persia he really learns to use his mind.

Honestly out of all the Skullector collab doll that they could be doing, top of my list is any of the Scooby Doo girls. Obviously Velma, Daphne, and the Hex Girls should get MH dolls. But consider:

The Grimwood Girls. They walked so Monster High could run I will not be convinced otherwise.

i think that something really interesting about the armored core series is the armored cores themselves and what they thematically represent

given everything else in the games, you might initially think that they are representative of the dehumanization and removal of free will that pilots face, essentially being their cage. but, the thing is, it really seems like they're the opposite.

the armored core is the one part of their life a pilot controls. it is designed by them, for them, as an extension of themselves. they get to choose every part, every color, every decal. it is theirs. and when they're piloting it, they have control, they have freedom. this is probably most felt in 4th and 5th gen where the soundtracks constantly convey a sense of this freedom, but it is somewhat felt throughout the series.

this is also why it's an extremely common plot thread that the corporations are trying to essentially phase out armored cores in favor of mass produced machines. they don't like this one remaining bit of freedom mercenaries have and want to remove it and the power that comes with it, replaced with nondescript, impersonal machines.

i realized just now i never posted any of my ghoul school art here so heres that.

absolutely adore this movie, both as a kid and now, it's just very silly and im very biased for the movies that mainly feature scoob and shaggy (my favorite cowards) + the ghouls and the cadets are some of my favorite side characters in scooby doo media.

first drawing was a design spread sheet for if warner brothers ever made a sequel (probs not cause they wouldn't commit to the real monsters aspect i can feel it) and the second was just for funsies.

The thing about the vox populi and vox fantasma that gets me is how we learn that everyone who came before Kingston and Pete was unhappy. They weren't just unhappy, some were downright suicidal. Even Kingston, before Pete, was a hot mess.

They need each other. You can't care for a person's physical needs without caring about their dreams and a person's dreams are useless if their physical needs aren't met and the two voxes are the embodiment of their domains. They are the physical realm of community and past-current struggles that hold someone back from the future. They are the unshackled dreaming of a better world and the desire to make things better and brighter together, to reach for the stars as a community.
