summary: it’s kate and yours one year anniversary and you decide to surprise her with a couple different things.

you and kate have officially been dating for one year and today was your anniversary. kate had been out for the past hour running errands so you took this time as the perfect opportunity to set up a surprise for her. you bought her a couple presents, decided to make dinner for the two of you and even decorated the apartment for her. you couldn’t wait to see her reaction.

you started to get ready by taking a shower, doing your hair and makeup and putting on a cute outfit. you also decided to slip on a new bra and underwear you had bought previously underneath your outfit for later. once everything was ready to go you decided to sit on the couch and wait for her to come home.

about 30 minutes later you heard keys starting to unlock the door. you knew exactly who it was so you got up from your spot and stood close to the door anticipating her entrance.

kate opened the door and walked in to see beautiful decorations covering the place along with candles, flowers and a meal for the two of you on the table. she was shocked to say the least, she had no idea you were planning this for her. “babe…. oh my god.” she said taking it all in. she started walking closer to you and once she was next to you the first thing she did was place a soft kiss to your lips.

she pulled away to look at you. your eyes met hers and you asked, “you like it?” she smiled at your question. “baby i love it this is so cute.” she said before wrapping you in a big hug. you giggled and rested your head in the crook of her neck.

when the two of you pulled away she couldn’t help but kiss you again. “come on let’s sit down.” you said as you grabbed her hand and pulled her over to the table. you both sat down and she stared at you from across the table.

“i love you.” she said as she started to eat the food. “i love you too, kate.” you replied and opened the bottle of champagne that you had laid out on the table. you guys talked and laughed nonstop while eating the food you had prepared. once you had finished you got up to grab the gifts you had bought for her.

“happy anniversary baby!” you said as you handed her two small boxes. she opened them while smiling. the first one had a silver necklace with a small “K” on it and a heart. the other one had some clothes that you remember her talking about wanting in the past.

you sat on her lap after she finished opening the gifts. “i love these so much, thank you babe.” she said and placed a kiss to your cheek. you smiled at her knowing she was truly grateful. “i have another surprise.” you said as you stood up from your spot on her lap and started walking towards your bedroom.

she followed after you excited to see what was next. when she walked into the room you had completely stripped out of what you were previously wearing. you had on a matching bra and underwear set that was her favorite color and you were now laying on your guys’ bed.

her mouth had practically dropped to the ground as she looked at you. she walked over to you and joined you on the bed. “you look so fucking pretty.” she said as she kissed you again and started to place kisses down your neck.

you then moved so you were on top of her and kissed her again. you asked her to take off her shirt and she did just that. you kissed all over her neck and chest and then started to leave kisses on her stomach. she let out soft moans as you started getting closer to her pussy.

she quickly removed her pants and underwear needy for more. you smirked up at her as you started to move down her body. you placed soft kisses to her thighs and she moaned more. “don’t tease me baby… need you so bad.” she said.

this made her smile grow larger. “i love you.” she told you once more. “i love you more, babe.” you said and placed a kiss to her forehead. she wrapped her arms around you and you rested your head on her chest.

you pulled the blankets up so they were covering both of you. you both moved around a little bit until you were comfortable before drifting off to sleep.

with the necklace in hand, kelsey returned to the living room. she saw you standing in front of the mirror, adjusting your dress. the sight made her pause for a second, her eyes tracing the curve of your back and the way the fabric hugged your body.

"you're drooling, kels." you remarked playfully as your voice brought her out of her trance, again.

kelsey laughed as she walked over to you, handing you the necklace. you turned around, smiling, and lifted your hair so she could fasten it around your neck. "it's not my fault, you're wearing that skims dress. you're distracting me."

"oh, am i now?" you replied playfully as she nodded.

"absolutely," kelsey replied, her fingers deftly working to fasten the necklace. "you know exactly what you're doing to me."

you chuckled softly, enjoying the effect you had on her. "well, it's good to know i still have that power over you."

kelsey finished with the necklace and let her hands linger on your shoulders, squeezing gently. "always," she whispered, her lips brushing your ear. a shiver ran down your spine at the touch, but you kept your playful demeanor.

"better keep your cool at the party then, don't want anyone else catching on," you teased, turning around to face her.

her eyes sparkled with mischief. "oh, i'll be on my best behavior."

you rolled your eyes with a smile. "alright, casanova, let's get going before we're late."

she let you walk out in front of her, a smirk on her lips as she playfully landed a quick smack! flat on your ass.

you let out a surprised yelp, turning back to see kelsey's smirk. “hey! behave,” you said, trying to sound stern but failing to hide your amusement.

kelsye shrugged innocently. “i said i'd behave at the party, baby.”

you laughed and shook your head, continuing to the car. the playful banter between you was one of the things you loved most about your relationship. it kept things light and fun, even when the attraction between you was almost palpable.

Opening the door to your dorm, you were surprised to find Kate curled up on the floor. The dorm was completely dark, the only light coming in through the cracks in the shade. “Kate?” you crouched on the ground next to her gently placing your hand on her shoulder, “you okay? Whats wrong?”

The rain gently tapped against the window as she glanced up at you, her eyes red from what you assumed were tears. She slowly sat up as you gently stabilized her by placing your hands on her shoulder. Her hair was messily falling out of her pony tail as she clung to the comforted. Her voice was hoarse as she spoke, “I have another migraine and its so bad.”

You could see the tears well up in her eyes as you felt your heart shatter. She gently palmed at the tears falling from her eyes. Gently you sat in front of her legs and pulled her into a hug. You knew she had been stressed lately with basketball and school and this was just a build up.

You softly pulled away, “Why don't you try and go to bed, hmm?” She nodded at your words, waiting for you to stand to help her up. “What time is it?” She sniffled at you as you gently walked her to her bed. “Its almost seven I think.”

It was silent as you pulled back her blankets to help her into bed. You could’ve sworn her cheeks were a bit pink. “Do you want to take your hair out?” You asked tentatively, “it might make your head feel a bit better.” She was quiet for a moment before she softly asked “can you take it out for me?”

You felt your cheeks heat up before you snapped yourself out of it. Now was not the time or place. “Yea of course,” you scooted behind her on her bed “let me know if you need me to stop okay?”

As slowly and gently as possible you started to slide the hair tie out of her hair, taking breaks every few seconds. Her hair was soft, the golden color looking closer to brown in the almost dark room. She leaned back against your knees as you continued. Hairtie removed, her hair cascaded down her back. “Want me to take your makeup off too?” She nodded, which sent you eagerly into the bathroom where you located the emergency makeup wipes.

Internally, part of you was freaking out. Being able to take care of her and be so close to her was something out of a dream. On the other hand, you felt terrible for being happy in this situation, knowing she was in a lot of pain.

Returning to her bed, you found her sitting up against the wall, head in her hands. You kneeled in front of her, gently pulling her shin up. Pulling a wipe from the pack you softly dragged it down her face. As you carefully made your way across her face, you could feel her eyes watching you. You looked down at her with a smile, “all done,” you backed off the bed, picking up the dirty wipes and tossing them in the trash. You watched her slump over into a ball on the bed. Her eyes still trailed you as you grabbed an ice pack from the freezer, a glimmer of adoration flickering in her eyes.

“Will you stay with me?” You could feel your heart beat pick up. You walked back over to her, handing the ice pack to her as she looked anywhere but your face. “Uhm sure.” She pulled the blanket back, letting you crawl in next to her. Immediately she attached herself to you, her face in your neck wrapping her arms around your waist.

Gently you pulled the blanket back over you, placing the ice pack in-between your neck and her head. You could feel her smile at your actions. Lying next to her in the dark, you found yourself hyperfocused on the warmth radiating from her body. You gently rubbed her back as you felt your eyes droop shut.

“I love you” she murmured softly against your neck. You pressed a kiss to the top of her head, “love you too Kate.”
