50 years ago, today, the "other 9/11" took place in Chile

It was on this day that the democratically elected socialist Salvador Allende and his government was overthrown by C.I.A backed fascists, led by Augusto Pinochet.

Pinochet's regime would play straight into the hands of U.S imperialists and businessmen, implementing neo-liberal reforms that drove millions into poverty, persecuting leftists and labour activists, imprisoning and torturing and murdering tens of thousands of innocent people.

Remember the victims.

Remember those who knew and supported what was being done.

Remember that this is what spreading "freedom" and "democracy" means to the United States.

I havent participated in daily dracula this year, but that and re: dracula really shows how important it is that schools reevaluate how they teach classics. Especially when literacy is at such a low point and an interest in books is so uh not great. I guarantee students that engaged in classics in fun and unique ways remember the books so much better than those that were forced to just read it.

A space dad and his favorite son.

I took some liberties with their armors. I made a mix of the canon ARC armor and the official representations I could find for Ordo. And I did whatever I wanted with Kal, because I can't imagine he wears the exact same armor as Jango but in gold. Added his Bantha jacket too, because it's implied he wears it on his armor (in this scene in Triple Zero where Darman is on fire).

just to put it out there, if bucktommy are still together at the close of the season 🤞🤞🤞 I am going to be insufferably petty. like disturbingly so. i'll try to limit it to the first 24 hours after I watch the finale, but those 24 hours will be filled with so much pettiness it might make your head explode

saw iv observation: mark hoffman is obsessed with control. he wants to feel like god. he wants to pull every string. he wants to always be omniscient, three steps ahead of everyone. he's thrown off by the evidence he leaves behind, like the skin abrasions from the harvesting of the jigsaw piece and the fingerprints (the chemicals on peter strahms fingertips that told the coroner's they were a dead guys fingerprints) and he falls apart because of that one oversight. he gives up control in the coffin trap. he puts his life in peter strahms hands- all strahm had to do was get in the coffin, and in the process, kill hoffman. strahm couldn't hand the control over to hoffman, and that's why he died. mark is obsessed with controlling every variable, and thats why he's so shocked that lawrence is alive and kramer's true apprentice- he was outside of hoffmans radius, he couldnt break gordon like he broke down jill. he was shocked that gordon was successful, and not only that, incredibly calculating, he was clever, and he was more in control than mark ever could have been

One of the Underwater Demolition Team members dons a Biological Isolation Garment as the others attach the floatation ring to the Apollo 11 capsule. The garment was meant to protect against potential infectious contaminates brought back from the Moon by the astronauts.
