A Legitimate Businessman by David M. Briggs, which is to say, me. … After eight years, I have finally finished writing this. And in order to make sure I was finished, I re-read the whole thing. At about 70,000 words, this is technically a novel. You guys. I wrote a novel. It’s fanfiction, so I won’t be monetizing it, but that’s fine because I don’t think there’s much of a market for this outside the community. But even so, I did it. I wrote a novel. You guys. I wrote a novel. I’ll upload the final chapters tomorrow in celebration of 4/13. You can find it on Archive of Our Own, or message me for the link. I’m so excited. … https://www.instagram.com/p/B-5SO9FhhUO/?igshid=r7cw5ilkas0v

Books I’ve Read:
My Review.... I know some fragrances get up my nose more than others but had never really thought too deeply as to why. Kate Grenville has given us the benefit of her in depth research into the fragrance industry and exposed it for what it is - a big unknown! We just don’t know, what all the ingredients are, that go into the products available these days to make us, our homes, our cars, our clothes even our animals smell nice. Too many people use too many products and for those who suffer with a fragrance sensitivity, things are finally changing. Many work places, hospitals and event complexes are now enforcing - No Fragrance policies under occupation health and safety guidelines. This book was a real eye opener for me - 4 stars

MidYear Book Freakout Tag . Best book read (so far) in 2020: Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire! . Best sequel read in 2020: There’s a Murder Afoot by Vicki Delaney! This kind of wins by default since the only other sequels I’ve read this year are romance and I binge-read those to the point where I can’t separate them well. . New release you haven’t read but want to: Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams! I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes. . Anticipated release for second half of 2020: Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch!!! This is the only book I have ever pre-ordered! . Biggest disappointment: Fighting for Love by Noah Steele! I really loved the first book but the last two in the trilogy were so disappointing! Just the writing felt so different and jarring to read. . Biggest surprise: Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim! I generally don’t read novel-length fantasy because I have a hard time keeping track of everything but I really enjoyed this one! . Fictional crush: Sarah Dove from The Book Charmer by Karen Hawkins! She seems like she would be the sweetest partner! . New favorite character: Beckett from Pisces Hooks Taurus by Anyta Sunday! He’s the kind of person I’d want to be best friends with in real life. . Made me cry: Meet Cute Club by Jack Harbon! This made me feel all the feels and solidified Jack Harbon as one of my favorite romance authors! . Best cover: Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power! I literally just got approved for an e-arc and I’m so excited! . Book to read by the end of the year: The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab! The description for this is everything I never knew I wanted! . #midyearbookfreakouttag #booktag #summerreading #bookishaccount #bookaccount #bookishpost #averybookishpost #bookishphotography #bookishphotochallenge #2020readingchallenge #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookishbuddies #bookstabuddies (at Corvallis, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDaP14ggfbe/?igshid=3vthojhl44km

After a bit of a disappointing start to my 2020 reading challenge, I think my literary intake for February has more than made up for it! After a few weeks on a course in Kingston, Ontario, a week in the classroom, and a week in the field, I managed to add 5 more books to my read shelf. February’s reading haul included the 5th and 6th books in the Sharpe series that covers Lt Richard Sharpe’s adventures at the Siege of Copenhagen and in Spain during the Peninsula War; Jocko Willink’s newest take on leadership and the tactics and strategies learned from the battlefield and in business that can be utilized in many walks off life; Simon Sinek’s leadership philosophy on starting with the “Why” of a group’s mission over the “What” or “How”; and finally James Clear’s guide on the science and art of habit building for the purposes of self improvement. Let’s see what I can read come March! 😊 #febuaryreads #2020readingchallenge #bookstagram #books #bernardcornwell #sharpesrifles #sharpesprey #jockowillink #leadershipstrategyandtactics #simonsinek #startwithwhy #atomichabits #jamesclear @jockowillink @simonsinek @jamesclear (at Aldershot, Nova Scotia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9NZDoop0Sv4JwSsh5z1Ukd9IbehhrhQi1DmDk0/?igshid=1bytu331tsb8a

Check out my latest blog post with my review of #dearedward @annnapolitano Blog link in bio 👆👆👆 Dear Edward is currently my #1 🥇 Book of 2020 #dearedward is the ultimate story of human KINDNESS. Edward is the sole survivor of a plane crash that also leaves him an orphan. The emotions of this book especially the kindness is what connected me. This book is a true portrait of human kindness and an accurate character study of how so many people react differently to the same event. This is such a remarkable story of healing, love and kindness. These are a few books that I have seen circulating on #bookstagram and if anyone would want to join in and do a #readalong I can create a chat group where we can all decide on the book and discuss it while we read it. Swipe to see a #2020readingchallenge that I have joined my best friend @dorina.mo in doing. I have filled out the books I have decided to do for each prompt but I haven’t actually finished any yet 🙈 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_0Nrs2Jd7o/?igshid=jhwoeqdd224u

Books I’ve Read:
My Review.... A book about people, people like you and me, who survive and go on with their lives after life shattering grief as a result of unimaginable events. These stories are fairly recent in time and all Australian. I knew of some but not all. That anyone can learn to enjoy life again after these awful tragedies amazes me.
Not a book I enjoyed, but a book that's given me much to think about - 4 stars
