Gyro has really had a huge impact on a lot of people's lives in DuckTales. And sadly, he was so overlooked (by both the characters and the production crew)...
Tumblr media
If it hadn't been for his OxyChew supplying Della with oxygen, nutrition, and water, she never would have survived to make it back to her family; the Ducks really owe him a huge debt of gratitude. It honestly bothers me how ungrateful Della was; I mean, I get how horrible it must've been to suffer the taste of black licorice for a decade (and to have the taste permanently stuck in your mouth after that), but c'mon...
Tumblr media
In 'The Most Dangerous Game... Night', if Gyro hadn't shown up with his shrink ray and interfered in the Ducks' game night, Louie- who was questioning how he fit into the family- might not have discovered his talent of seeing all the angles, and how that contributes to the family on their adventures, and how he could use that talent to someday have his own successful business like Scrooge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Gyro hadn't created the armor in the first place (before it became the Gizmoduck armor, back when it was still known as Project Blatherskite and was supposed to be Gyro's ultimate project and solution to regain control over his inventions after they always turn evil), Fenton never would have discovered that his passion for helping others- which he still always loved doing as a scientist, even after becoming Gizmoduck- could also extend to being a superhero. And Gyro actually gave him the new-and-improved model of the armor in the end, which he specifically built for Fenton (self-contained, using Fenton's brain as the core processor this time); granted, that was on Scrooge's orders, and Gyro still thought Fenton was a danger to himself and others in the suit, but the point stands.
Tumblr media
If Gyro and his technology hadn't helped Scrooge get back his gold Rockerduck stole (Gyro happened to be stuck in the Old West with his Time Tub, which was a fortunate coincidence), Scrooge wouldn't have gotten that part of his fortune or that part of his legacy.
Tumblr media
Gyro took Manny on as an intern and gave him his own name- and yes, Frank Angones indeed confirmed he got his name from Gyro, which likely explains why Gyro actually remembers it- allowing our favorite Headless Man-Horse to become more of a normal guy with a normal life like he wanted, instead of just an evil supernatural creature or 'freak'.
Tumblr media
Gyro played a huge part in helping disable the Solego Void before Donald could be erased when Bradford threw him in!
As @sometimes-they-come-back-237 pointed out in a very similar Gyro appreciation post (which I think is such a fun coincidence, and it's so cool more people agree), he saved both Della and Donald, and he deserves a raise (and more respect by Della)!

🎄💾🗓️ Day 11: Retrocomputing Advent Calendar - The SEL 840A🎄💾🗓️
Systems Engineering Laboratories (SEL) introduced the SEL 840A in 1965. This is a deep cut folks, buckle in. It was designed as a high-performance, 24-bit general-purpose digital computer, particularly well-suited for scientific and industrial real-time applications.
Notable for using silicon monolithic integrated circuits and a modular architecture. Supported advanced computation with features like concurrent floating-point arithmetic via an optional Extended Arithmetic Unit (EAU), which allowed independent arithmetic processing in single or double precision. With a core memory cycle time of 1.75 microseconds and a capacity of up to 32,768 directly addressable words, the SEL 840A had impressive computational speed and versatility for its time.
Its instruction set covered arithmetic operations, branching, and program control. The computer had fairly robust I/O capabilities, supporting up to 128 input/output units and optional block transfer control for high-speed data movement. SEL 840A had real-time applications, such as data acquisition, industrial automation, and control systems, with features like multi-level priority interrupts and a real-time clock with millisecond resolution.
Software support included a FORTRAN IV compiler, mnemonic assembler, and a library of scientific subroutines, making it accessible for scientific and engineering use. The operator’s console provided immediate access to registers, control functions, and user interaction! Designed to be maintained, its modular design had serviceability you do often not see today, with swing-out circuit pages and accessible test points.
And here's a personal… personal computer history from Adafruit team member, Dan…
== The first computer I used was an SEL-840A, PDF:
I learned Fortran on it in eight grade, in 1970. It was at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where my parents worked, and was used to take data from cyclotron experiments and perform calculations. I later patched the Fortran compiler on it to take single-quoted strings, like 'HELLO', in Fortran FORMAT statements, instead of having to use Hollerith counts, like 5HHELLO.
In 1971-1972, in high school, I used a PDP-10 (model KA10) timesharing system, run by BOCES LIRICS on Long Island, NY, while we were there for one year on an exchange.
This is the front panel of the actual computer I used. I worked at the computer center in the summer. I know the fellow in the picture: he was an older high school student at the time.
The first "personal" computers I used were Xerox Alto, Xerox Dorado, Xerox Dandelion (Xerox Star 8010), Apple Lisa, and Apple Mac, and an original IBM PC. Later I used DEC VAXstations.
Dan kinda wins the first computer contest if there was one… Have first computer memories? Post’em up in the comments, or post yours on socialz’ and tag them #firstcomputer #retrocomputing – See you back here tomorrow!

U.S. Approves Foreign Military Sale for South Korean F-15K Upgrade
The State Department has approved the possible sale of components that will allow South Korea to upgrade its F-15K Slam Eagle fleet to a configuration similar to the F-15EX Eagle II.
Stefano D'Urso
F-15K upgrade
The U.S. State Department has approved on Nov.19, 2024, a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Republic of Korea of components that will allow the upgrade of the country’s F-15K Slam Eagle fleet. The package, which has an estimated cost of $6.2 billion, follows the decision in 2022 to launch an upgrade program for the aircraft.
The State Department has approved the possible sale of components that will allow South Korea to upgrade its F-15K Slam Eagle fleet to a configuration similar to the F-15EX Eagle II.The F-15KThe new capabilities
The Slam Eagles are the mainstay of the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) multirole missions, with a particular ‘heavy hitting’ long-range strike role. According to the available data, the country operates 59 F-15Ks out of 61 which were initially fielded in 2005. In 2022, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) approved the launch of an upgrade program planned to run from 2024 to 2034.
In particular, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s (DSCA) FMS notice says a number of components were requested for the upgrade, including 96 Advanced Display Core Processor II (ADCP II) mission system computers, 70 AN/APG-82(v)1 Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) radars, seventy 70 AN/ALQ-250 Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) electronic warfare (EW) suites and 70 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS).
In addition to these, South Korea will also get modifications and maintenance support, aircraft components and spares, consumables, training aids and the entire support package commonly associated with FMS. It is interesting to note that the notice also includes aerial refueling support and aircraft ferry support, so it is possible that at least the initial aircraft will be ferried to the United States for the modifications before the rest are modified in country.

The components included in the possible sale will allow the ROKAF to upgrade its entire fleet of F-15Ks to a configuration similar to the new F-15EX Eagle II currently being delivered to the U.S. Air Force. Interestingly, the Korean configuration will also include the CMWS, currently not installed on the EX, so the F-15K will also require some structural modifications to add the blisters on each side of the canopy rail where the sensors are installed.
“This proposed sale will improve the Republic of Korea’s capability to meet current and future threats by increasing its critical air defence capability to deter aggression in the region and to ensure interoperability with US forces,” says the DSCA in the official notice.
The upgrade of the F-15K is part of a broader modernization of the ROKAF’s fighter fleet. In fact, the service is also upgrading its KF-16s Block 52 to the V configuration, integrating a new AESA radar, mission computer, self-protection suite, with works expected to be completed by 2025. These programs complement the acquisition of the F-35 Lightning II and the KF-21 Boramae.

The F-15K
The F-15K is a variant of the F-15E Strike Eagle built for the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) with almost half of the components manufactured locally. The aircraft emerged as the winner of the F-X fighter program against the Rafale, Typhoon and Su-35 in 2002, resulting in an order for 40 F-15s equipped with General Electric F110-129 engines. In 2005, a second order for 21 aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines was signed.
The Slam Eagle name is derived from the F-15K’s capability to employ the AGM-84H SLAM-ER standoff cruise missiles, with the Taurus KEPD 350K being another weapon exclusive to the ROKAF jet. The F-15K is employed as a fully multi-role aircraft and is considered ad one of the key assets of the Korean armed forces.
With the aircraft averaging an age of 16 years and expected to be in service until 2060, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) launched in 2022 an upgrade program for the F-15Ks. The upgrade, expected to run from 2024 to 2034, is committed to strengthening the mission capabilities and survivability of the jet.
The F-15K currently equips three squadrons at Daegu Air Base, in the southeast of the country. Although based far from the demilitarized zone (DMZ), the F-15K with its SLAM-ER and KEPD 350 missiles can still hit strategic targets deep behind North Korean borders.

The new capabilities
It is not yet clear if the F-15K will receive a new cockpit, since its configuration will be similar to the Eagle II. In fact, the F-15EX has a full glass cockpit equipped with a 10×19-inch touch-screen multifunction color display and JHMCS II both in the front and rear cockpit, Low Profile HUD in the front, stand-by display and dedicated engine, fuel and hydraulics display, in addition to the standard caution/warning lights, switches and Hands On Throttle-And-Stick (HOTAS) control.
Either way, the systems will be powered by the Advanced Display Core Processor II, reportedly the fastest mission computer ever installed on a fighter jet, and the Operational Flight Program Suite 9.1X, a customized variant of the Suite 9 used on the F-15C and F-15E, designed to ensure full interoperability of the new aircraft with the “legacy Eagles”.
The F-15K will be equipped with the new AN/APG-82(V)1 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar. The radar, which has been developed from the APG-63(V)3 AESA radar of the F-15C and the APG-79 AESA radar of the F/A-18E/F, allows to simultaneously detect, identify and track multiple air and surface targets at longer ranges compared to mechanical radars, facilitating persistent target observation and information sharing for a better decision-making process.
F-15K upgrade

The AN/ALQ-250 EPAWSS will provide full-spectrum EW capabilities, including radar warning, geolocation, situational awareness, and self-protection to the F-15. Chaff and flares capacity will be increased by 50%, with four more dispensers added in the EPAWSS fairings behind the tail fins (two for each fairing), for a total of 12 dispenser housing 360 cartridges.
EPAWSS is fully integrated with radar warning, geo-location and increased chaff and flare capability to detect and defeat surface and airborne threats in signal-dense and highly contested environments. Because of this, the system enables freedom of maneuver and deeper penetration into battlespaces protected by modern integrated air defense systems.
The AN/AAR-57 CMWS is an ultra-violet based missile warning system, part of an integrated IR countermeasures suite utilizing five sensors to display accurate threat location and dispense decoys/countermeasures. Although CMWS was initially fielded in 2005, BAE Systems continuously customized the algorithms to adapt to new threats and CMWS has now reached Generation 3.

What's your favorite processor to use and why?
TLDR: core 2 duo..
unfortunately, i am pathologically incapable of choosing favorites 99.999% of the time [probably because im the most omnisexual polyamorous girl alive]
however, my preference lay with the pre core 2 duo era for intel, and bulldozer microarch and earlier for AMD. the specific reasoning for this is the inclusion of management engines by both AMD and Intel in all consumer grade CPUs beyond that point. (think of these not as hardware backdoors exactly, but management measures which have flaws that can and have been exploited by malware- not that any CPU is free of such exploitation..)
OBJECT ATTRACTION BELOW!
truth be told, and from a strictly object sexuality standpoint, i dont find myself attracted to even something as new as a core2duo. i LOVE the beige beauties typical of the 80s-90s! its OBVIOUSLY not the case that objects age or mature like humans and I DO NOT THINK ITS PROBLEMATIC to be attracted to newer computers or objects, HOWEVER! when i see a core i-series or newer cpu, my instinct is like... thats new. thats young. too young for me. now, the core 2 duo IS from 2006, making it 18 years old. but still. im just not into them? sorry!
i think the pentium 4 is the actual latest era i find myself essentially universally attracted to, being around my age at 24 years old (im 22 rn)

ᴜɴɪᴛ xᴢ-477/ᴊᴇʀᴇᴍʏ
477 was created during the early days of the new empire, a unit specifically breaded to lead the invasion of earth and be an almost perfect killing machine, no special rank, just a normal dalek who was exceeded at his occupation. While the emperor and the other currently existing dalek forces where left to conquer the outer worlds near Skaro and occupy space to claim as there own a separate force would be sent long distance across the galaxy to conquer a small planet known as Earth. Leading this occupation 477 would take the role of supreme controller and over the next 10 years would enslave the populace and integrate dalek architecture into humanities own cities. In this time resources where completely drained, entire oceans lost and half of North America was completely obliterated. During this time large resistance groups were building, and the scientists of an unknown organisation known as ‘Black Mesa’ decided there was nothing they could do to save humanity. Activating a machine that would open mass portals to the boarder world, allowing creatures and horrors of all sorts to invade the earth and creating a hell that neither daleks or humanity could survive, hoping that some humans would be able to survive in hiding. The daleks over the course of the next 24 hours would be overrun, their cities and citadels obliterated with only a few ships being able to escape. However, 477 was left behind to die by his comrades. Successfully fighting to keep himself safe in a citadel he was able to uses its main core processors to shut down the portals. Before he could escape the floors and internal structure of the citadel collapsed and unit 477 fell beneath the earth, rumble on top of him, he was trapped. Buried beneath the rock, there was nothing but his own life, his failures and success, his reasoning to ruminate on.
A century passed and the remaining humans on earth that had survived and repopulated ended up rediscovering the underground system. Digging out the remains of it to set up camps a woman named Eliza discord 477, digging him up and reactivating him. While she had him locked up for a bit overtime they started to grow closer with Eliza eventually letting 477 roam freely, to her surprise he had grown docile. In his mind however he had realised the flaws of his own species, they abandoned him and no rescue was sent for 100 years, but this woman who’s species he had terrorised saved him. Now with the new name Jeremy(which Eliza had given to 477) they left the earth together to start exploring the galaxy, their friendship growing and blooming until one day when Eliza and Jeremy got trapped during a dalek invasion. Right in front of Jeremy’s eyes Eliza was exterminated by his own species, with no choice he went into hiding and was left damaged and alone once more. But this time, he had a plan.
He burrowed and hid in a lair under the village for the next 30 years. He enslaved the villagers and indigenous species populating the planet to aid him in his plans. He created his own new bloodstream to give him more mental strength to not loose his own sanity and to keep his mutant nourished, but this would unintentionally change his DNA, making him impure in the process. It was like an infection that he was oblivious to due to how deranged he got over time, the new source of blood did not help him, but it kept him alive. When he had the perfect opportunity he sent out and distress signal, eradicating all the villages before boarding the rescue ship. Once onboard 477 exterminated the whole crew, killing every dalek onboard and then proceeded to take the ship for himself. Before his disconnection form the dalek path web he knew what his emperor had planned for his base copy, he was to be re used to make a new special forces dalek, ‘Xendiyatrix’. He also knew of a special plan to go to the edge of the galaxy, there was something there that the daleks and imperials wanted ahold of, something life changing.
Jez arrived at the edge of the galaxy, his mission already set. He infiltrated the occupations set up there, fighting through daleks and stormtroopers a like, but there was someone, something in his way. 3605. This was the first time Jez faced a proper challenge, he tried persuading and reasoning with 3605 over the course of their mission but with no choice left Jez sought to kill 3605 himself. As they fought Jez found himself losing, here he was clearly outmatched as not only was 3605 a skilled soldier but was able to wield a lightsaber and was the best sniper in the entire imperial empire. Jez was blown up and left burning, fleeing form 3605. In his last moments of life he saw what he came looking for, sitting across the large ravine that kept them apart. Jez had one last conversation with 3605, pleading with him to spare him and work together, but his demise was sealed as a psyche, a new breed of dalek which Jez had never seen himself before. Before Jez could question further in an instant the psyche dalek used it’s telekinetic abilities to drop a crate onto Jez, crushing him and completely ending his life.

Holy shit I had a dream about me going out on a bike on my own to do a painting somewhere for some sort of art collective zine and then submitting it and then coming home a few days after leaving it with my mom and stepdad only to find they'd chopped pieces of my painting's frame off to support their painting, while reshaping my own.
Naturally I was incredibly upset about this in my dream and i expressed this frustration with them both. The art collective at least liked my writing about the painting so much that they held up publication verifying it was original text.
As I'm typing this up I'm thinking about how this applies on an emotional/metaphorical level with how my mom treated me up until the point i cut her out of my life. She'd take the parts of me she wanted and used them to reframe me as the kind of child she thought I should be, all the while ignoring the core of who I was or am. She told me I was the more computer inclined type. I don't know why. Maybe because I could type quickly. Anyway the point is, she spent decades of my life telling me something despite all the evidence contrary to it - every time i tried to do computer programming it wouldn't stick in my brain. If the reason she thought I was more computer inclined was because my ability to type quickly and well, then she ignored the reason I developed that skill. That is, I have written in a word processor for approximately 24 years now. I know my way around a keyboard. I also used to roleplay in a live chat environment frequently. So i was constantly typing. I'm actually less computer inclined than my younger sibling who she said was extremely mechanically inclined. My sibling is physically much larger than me in every way. And they support themselves doing freelance 3D modeling and shit for video games.
This past year I've discovered that I actually do like working on cars (I still don't think we should live in a car centric society but that's an entirely different post), and that furthermore I find mechanical work that i do with my hands much easier than I thought I would. I've been able to look at parts of a door on a slot machine and almost perfectly understand how it's supposed to work. My favorite thing at work is building locks. It's tedious but enjoyable. My boss thinks I'm a weirdo because of that. But i just really, really fucking like working on locks. My dream job actually is working on bicycles as a bike mechanic.
This isn't even getting into gender shit. I'm not going to go all into it for obvious reasons, but she couldn't accept for the longest time that her children are gender deviant and have a different understanding of themselves than the one she pictured of us growing up. She was trying because my uncle made her try the last time he talked to her, but I'm not sure whether she's regressed or not because I don't talk to her anymore.
Anyway all of this is just to say: my parents don't get to decide me and I'm allowed to be a person with my own vision of myself. I am a new blank canvas and i can paint and shape myself the way i want to.

Welcome to the House of Lost Dreamers, the home of the Lost Dreamers System. We are an Orbital Mediple System, comprised mostly of fictives based on Original Characters made by the system Core (Roz). We are a traumagenic system but generally consider ourselves to be non-disordered and we also support the existence of plurality that doesn't map to our experience (i.e., we are pro-endo and don't believe that psychiatry has the right to define plural existence)
We're not interested in participating in syscourse (as in: discussing with sysmeds) but might sometimes RB syscourse. This blog is a sideblog and follows from @changelingfangs.

Apple M4 Powers Up the iMac: Blazing Speed for Creatives
Tumblr media
Apple M4 iMac Predictions
24 Apple iMac
Apple M4 chips may be introduced when Apple updates the 24-inch iMac in 2024. Apple intends to update the Mac series, including the iMac, with AI-focused M4 CPUs. This document details Apple’s M4 iMac ambitions.
Apple M4
Apple may incorporate the M4 chip from the latest iPad Pro models in the forthcoming 24-inch iMac. Since iMacs have M3 chips, the M4 will be a direct upgrade.
Apple M4 is a second-generation chip based on the M3’s 3-nanometer technology with performance and efficiency improvements. Apple M4 CPU outscored M3 chip by 25% in Geekbench benchmark test, suggesting considerable performance boost.
The Apple M4 had 3,695 single-core and 14,550 multi-core scores, compared to 3,087 and 11,702 for the M3.
Apple’s M4 processor has a 10-core GPU and CPU with four performance and six efficiency cores. Apple uses an M4 with a 9-core CPU in the iPad Pro, but the iMac may not have it.
Other Macs will have upgraded M4 Pro, M4 Max, and M4 Ultra CPUs, while the 24-inch iMac, which is equal in price to the MacBook Air, will only have the M4 chip.
Create
No signs suggest Apple will revamp the iMac soon the last overhaul was in 2021. The 2024 iMac refresh may focus internal improvements over exterior design changes.
Computers and displays are merged in the iMac. It fits on a desktop due to its narrow profile and 11.5mm thickness. It has a pastel chin and comes in bright shades.
They know of no iMac enhancements other than the Apple M4 chip.
Larger iMac?
Despite rumours, a 30-inch iMac was still in development in mid-2023. Its release date is unknown. As of May 25, 2024, Apple has no larger iMac. Current 24-inch iMacs include M3 chips. In 2024, rumours of a bigger iMac with an M-series CPU had faded. Apple hasn’t confirmed a 30-inch model for 2025.
Expect a larger iMac: Rumours say Apple may sell a larger iMac in the future.
Connect Mac to external display: You can add a larger external monitor to your iMac or Mac mini. This maximises screen space and lets you choose size and resolution.
Consider Mac Studio: The Mac Studio is fast and may be used with a larger display for a strong desktop arrangement.
Launch Day
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman expected a 24-inch iMac M4 processor update “around the end of the year.” The iMac may launch at October or November Apple events with new Macs. Pre-year MacBook Pro and Mac mini improvements are anticipated. Since the iMac was updated in October 2023, an October 2024 release would conclude the year.
The M4 processor outperforms the M3 with a 10-core CPU (6 efficiency and 4 performance) and GPU. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing and 16-core Neural Engine are featured. The M4 iMac could handle video editing and 3D rendering.
Apple iMac M3
They expect the new iMac to have a 24-inch Retina 4.5K display like the M3 model. Apple may possibly offer more colours for the upcoming iMac, like the M2 model. The M4 iMac will be a major upgrade from the M3. Keep an eye out for Apple’s M4-powered iMac later this year if you want a powerful and adaptable desktop.
Based on rumours and leaks, the M4 iMac may include these features:
The next-generation 24-inch iMac is believed to have the M4 chip, which Apple used in the current iPad Pro versions.
The M4, a second-generation microprocessor with faster and more efficient performance, uses the same 3-nanometer technology as the M3.
The M4 outperformed the M3 on Geekbench by 25%. Apple’s M4 processor contains a 10-core CPU and GPU with six efficiency and four performance cores.
Design: The M4 iMac will have a slim, colourful aluminium casing like the M3.
Seven brilliant colors blue, green, pink, silver, space grey, yellow, and orange are likely.
256GB of M4 iMac storage can be expanded to 2TB of SSD storage.
The M4 iMac will have 8GB of starting memory and up to 16GB of unified memory.
Reports and leaks suggest these specs for Apple’s M4 iMac:
M4 Chip had 10 cores: 4 efficient, 6 performant.
Ten cores and second-generation 3-nanometers make the GPU more efficient and performant than M3.
24-inch 4.5K Retina screen, True Tone, P3 colour gamut.
SSDs start at 256GB and RAM up to 2TB.
Standard unified memory is 8GB, customisable to 16GB.
Dual SDXC card slots, USB-C connections, Thunderbolt 4 connectors.
From last update, there was no mention of a “M4 iMac.” Apple regularly updates their products with newer processors and features. Apple’s custom Mac CPUs are generally labelled “M”.
The M1 chip, which delivered exceptional performance and energy economy, changed Apple’s desktop and laptop computers. An M4 iMac may use this special silicon to boost power and efficiency. I prefer Apple’s official releases or trusted tech sources for the most accurate and current information.

Cheesecake Layer 24 ounces cream cheese softened 1 ¼ cup powdered sugar ⅓ cup sour cream room temperature 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract 3 large eggs room temperature
Crumb Topping ½ cup all purpose flour ½ cup granulated sugar ½ cup brown sugar ⅓ cup old fashioned oats 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 ½ teaspoon apple pie spice ½ teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted Optional Topping ½ cup caramel sauce
Instructions Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper or lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Graham Cracker Crust Crush the graham crackers in a food processor or by placing in a large ziploc bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Make sure the crumbs are very fine. Transfer to a large bowl. 15 graham crackers Stir in the sugar and then drizzle in the melted butter. Stir until thoroughly combined. 3 tablespoons granulated sugar,8 tablespoons salted butter Press the crumbs into the bottom of the prepared pan forming an even layer. Cover with plastic wrap and place the crust in the freezer while preparing the remaining layers.
Apple Layer In a medium bowl, combine the chopped apples and fresh lemon juice and toss together. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and salt. Stir together until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated. Set aside. 3 Granny Smith apples,¼ cup granulated sugar,3 tablespoons brown sugar,1 teaspoon apple pie spice,¼ teaspoon salt,1 tablespoon lemon juice
Cheesecake Layer Place the softened cream cheese and sugar in a large mixing bowl and then, using a hand or stand mixer, beat on medium speed until well combined, about 2 minutes. The mixture should be smooth and creamy. 24 ounces cream cheese,1 ¼ cup powdered sugar Add the sour cream and vanilla extract and mix on low speed just until combined. ⅓ cup sour cream,1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract Add the eggs and mix on low speed just until incorporated, do not overmix. Set aside. 3 large eggs
Crumb Topping In a medium bowl combine all purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Whisk to combine. ½ cup all purpose flour,½ cup granulated sugar,½ cup brown sugar,⅓ cup old fashioned oats,1 teaspoon baking powder,1 ½ teaspoon apple pie spice,½ teaspoon salt Add the melted butter and stir with a fork until crumbly. Set aside. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
Assembly Remove the crust from the freezer. Pour the cheesecake layer over the crust and use an offset spatula to spread evenly. Spoon the apple mixture over the cheesecake layer using a slotted spoon. Spoon the crumb topping evenly over the apple layer. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the sides are set and the middle has a very slight jiggle. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Transfer to the fridge and chill for 6 hours or overnight.
Serve Cut into squares and serve with a generous drizzle of caramel sauce. ½ cup caramel sauce
Notes Storage Information Once the bars have chilled for at least 6 hours they can be cut into bars and served. To store leftovers, place in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 4 days. The bars store best when the caramel sauce hasn’t been added yet. I do not recommend freezing these caramel apple cheesecake bars.

Absolutely hectic I tell you! There were an extra six chapters not on the schedule. Madness :D
--
I soft launched my Ream account, which is a subscription site that is a mirror of Patreon. For anyone who's ever had any payment processor issues with Patreon, doesn't want to support that site, or is super pro supporting a site that allows the kind of written content AO3 does with no censorship, then Ream is the place to be. :D If you ever want to ask me any questions about it, please do, but all-in-all it's the same. The only difference is you're charged only once a month instead of twice!
My favourite part about Ream so far is that you can actually just follow for free, without paying a cent, and give the space a try and see how it feels. It means you'll get the round-up posts and November schedule directly to your email, which is awesome because Tumblr can bury things super fast. :D
--
For me on the writing side, I was technically on holiday! I wrote a lot of Underline the Red and a lot of Palmarosa. I played a whole lot of different video games, started watching Bridgerton, and did a bunch of gardening.
All in all, we landed in a space of 31,041 words! And I'm absolutely raring to go for NaNoWriMo, where I'm aiming to write either 60,000 words or write 20 chapters, whichever comes first. Wish me luck and to remember to hydrate :D
In November, I'm going to be smashing out a lot of our core stories - Underline the Black, The Nascent Diplomat, Constellations and then likely also fanfic like A Stain that Won't Dissolve and hopefully there's some time for Palmarosa in there!
I will probably launch Constellations on AO3 in December.
November is likely to be another hectic month with updates, and hopefully it means you get to pick your favourite stories to focus on :D
--
I'll see you all in November! It's definitely getting hotter now, and we have snapdragons and moss roses in our garden, and soon - hopefully - some dahlias too. Many of the Australian native plants have stopped flowering in preparation for the heat, because our plants know summer is not the best time to flower - pretty weird when you compare that to much of the southern hemisphere!
(Happy Halloween everyone, have a safe month, take care of yourselves, and take care of each other <3 )

Ya boi got an external GPU. We gaming in (relative) luxury ✨️
Did experience some issues, but getting min 24 fps and even with reaching max graphics is an astronomical improvement (tested games Temtem & Outer Wilds [feel free to ask bout the latter or go to subreddit and get a NO Spoiler review])
Feel free to ask questions. Especially if relating to my setup :)
Laptop: Thinkpad T14 Gen 3 (with the Intel i5 processor) (dual booting Windows & Fedora [primary OS used for everything including gaming])
Enclosure: Razer Core X (not the Chroma, card has enough lights for me :p) (connected through thunderbolt, needs specific specs cable tho, the included one works but is short)
Graphics Card: Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770
