I saw some art of a high school AU with Karlach in a hockey uniform and it’s opened my fucking eyes. Karlach would fucking LOVE ice hockey.

It’s about teamwork and camaraderie and strategy and working together for a common goal and also just INCREDIBLY VIOLENT.

Like, it’s that perfect Venn diagram between team sports and like, organized fighting. Cause I feel like yes she’d like to watch football and everything but it wouldn’t resonate the same way, and like WWE is too orchestrated and not actually fighting, and MMA it feels like something she’d rather do than watch.

But HOCKEY. Getting to watch a team sport, one without constant breaks for rule checking, and then sometimes a guy gets so mad he just starts wailing on another guy and it turns into a frenzy until they break it up and then have a time out to make sure everyone’s ok, then continue with the sport? And having strategy about when it’s worth it to start throwing hands?

It feels just perfect for her. It resonates. Someone put the Bruins on for my girl and crack open a cold one with her that seems like a great night for her she deserves it.

Also my hot take is that the person who would ACTUALLY love WWE? Astarion. A bunch of incredibly strong people throwing each other around with the theatrics of an ongoing story? He’d eat that shit up. But like as a guilty pleasure. If you ever find out you’re a dead man he can’t have that information getting out.

I was thanking my friend for pushing me to finally get that US visa appointment yesterday because the process of doing that also opened all these avenues to my past that had been firewalled before, including to hockey, and he said I've been pushing you for ages I think you did it now because you were finally ready.

And it is like he is so right. But I also wish the instigating incident that finally made me face the trauma of that move wasn’t Bergy's retirement you know?

#watching him on the ice -- i cant even put to words how much it meant to me #it felt divine #and i could have had 3 more seasons of it #i know last year ended so abruptly and so badly but i could have been there for the brilliance #that was our regular season #and in many ways this is the thing: i couldnt have #i needed the time to heal to prepare #but it just - it makes me so sad #i hate that i can go back - to hockey hopefully even to boston #but that one beloved sacred thing #is lost forever #i hate that that was the price i had to pay #😔
