The uncanny valley is starting to fade away - wow. These are behind-the-scenes frames from Goodbye Kansas Studio's work on the cinematic trailer for CD Projekt Red's game Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty. It features a very, very realistic CG Idris Elba, in fact, perhaps the most convincing CG character I've even seen. It has to be seen to be believed. You can watch the trailer here

Is it just me or is it very upsetting that Detective Pikachu Returns has zero hype right now, even though the game is about to release?
There's no Detective Pikachu subreddit (which is weird because there's the first game and a movie, surely there's some conversation and game screenshots to post about?) gaming subreddits and Pokémon subreddits aren't talking about it, someone on r/Pokéleaks pointed out that no-one is leaking it too.
I dunno, I got the first Detective Pikachu game for my birthday and spent all week playing it, and I was freaking out when the sequel was finally announced.
Where the heck is the Detective Pikachu subfandom, I feel like only five people are talking about it. Tumblr is pretty quiet about it too

It has been 13 years since we last spent any time in Pandora, the magical moon situated somewhere in the Alpha Centauri star system, and the truth is, most of us haven't missed it much.
Sure, James Cameron's original "Avatar" remains the highest grossing film of all time (just a tiny smidge above "Avengers: Endgame"), but for all the cheese it made, it's not as if it became a massive part of the cultural zeitgeist. There are reasons for this. Primarily, the first film was little more than a technology exhibit of what was then absolute cutting-edge CGI, and an "experience" such as theater chains over the country wish would become back into popular consumption.
For a while there, it seemed to herald a new dawn of 3D films -- there was a time, remember, where nearly every big-ticket release had a 3D element patched into it -- but, beyond that bubble, there was scant reflection of the film itself. It was a pretty standard action piece -- an oppressed group of good guys facing a dark, military group of bad ones, with the latter earning their comeuppance, and the good guys prevailing and dancing around a bonfire to celebrate (or, maybe that was the ewoks? It's so hard to remember).

Before making his "official" debut, he appeared on the Tencent Video reality show The Coming One in 2017 as a contestant (yes, believe it). Below is a video of one of his performances:

He was eliminated. However, he did return in the finale as a guest artist:

After the show, he released two promotional singles: one for Pizza Hut in December 2017, and a song he performed on a Tencent and Wajijiwa-organized event in January 2018:
He made his "debut" on September 21, 2018 with the EP "那鲸" (That Whale). On 2019, he released his second EP, "荷兹奇幻漂流" (HeZ's Fantasy Drifting). In both of these, many of the tracks were released separately as singles.
