Heyy, im looking for this fic, its def on ao3 i remember. Multiple chapter. Basically steve hooks up w a girl and she ends up pregnant, he doesnt find out untill the baby gets droped on his doorstep, w a note, the mother wrote something about not trusting herself w the baby since she was experiencing some post partum depression. he lived in a cottage. Steve and eddie dont get together untill later, but eddie does help him w the baby. At some point eddie runs away, not far but just like around town, i think it was because he gets told his dad died in prision and feels bad for missing him even tho he was awful. Steve also gets lot of nightmares about a demogorgon getting inside the house and killing eddie and his baby. I think thats all, thank uuu <33

Call Me Josh Chapter 14

“Mama?” She sits head down her hair covering her face. Two weeks after Joe was buried, Mary is barely functioning. The boys have went back to school but, Rebecca and Mary can’t get back into any semblance of normality.

“Yes Joshua.” She barely lifts her head to answer him. He sighs and slips into a seat beside her. The kitchen table has seen a lot of deep conversations. Today, will be one of the most important. He places his hand over hers and frowns at the chill he feels there. His thumb runs over the top of her hand.

“We must discuss Rebecca. I know how hard this is. I didn’t know such pain could exist.” She looks up then, her brown eyes darkened, so much with her pain, that they are almost black.

“Joshua it isn’t fair.” Her hand fists under his. “I can’t understand why He is doing this. Why is He doing this?”

He swallows. Yes, he knows Who he is, Who’s he is. But still he couldn’t answer her. He has asked His Father. The only answer he got is, trust me. He does but it doesn’t make this any easier. “Mama.”

“I did everything He asked and your papa,” she stops with a sob, “he did too. We should have been allowed to have a long life together.”

He feels tears fill his eyes. His mama’s pain is much harder to deal with then his own. “Your right. I’m sorry.”

She shakes her head. “I’m sorry. This isn’t your problem.”

“Mama, of course it is. I love you. Your my mama and your feelings are important to me.”

“You said something about Rebecca?” She tries to sit up straight and focus, reminding herself that she still has responsibilities. She is still a mama.

“Yes,” he seats up also, also trying to get back to the task at hand. It is hard to put his mama’s feelings aside for the moment, “She isn’t doing well. I know none of us are but she is really bad off. She isn’t eating and I have barely heard her say two words since… I have tried talking to her but she needs you. I know this is hard but…”

She stands, her legs shaky. After a second, they firm up. She wipes her eyes. “Thank you Joshua. I needed reminded that this isn’t just about me.” She walks off towards her daughter’s room.

He sits at the table, his eyes up towards heaven. “Why Father? I know Your ways are perfect. I know that we are to trust You, and I do. Your plans and ways are perfect. I know but this is so hard. My family is hurting and hurting bad. Help us Father. Please help us!”

She finds her daughter, her baby, curled up on her bed, clinging to the only stuffed animal she has kept, the one that her father gave her at her birth. It is a pink bunny. Mary sits down beside her. “Rebecca?” She touches her shoulder to find it shaking in her tears. “Oh my love.” She lays down beside her and wraps her arms around her. One of her child’s hands loosens and grabs ahold of her mama’s arm. Mary fills the desperation in it.

“Mama! Mama I want my papa. Why did he leave us?” Mary draws her closer and her daughter turns and buries her face in her mama’s chest. Her sobs shake them both.

“My love, I don’t know. I really don’t know.”

“It isn’t fair.”

“I agree. It isn’t fair. Nor is it fair that you aren’t eating. Do you think your papa would want that?”

Rebecca stills. “Mama that isn’t fair.”

“No, nor is it fair that I lose my husband and my daughter. I love you, Rebecca, I love you so much. I won’t have you wasting away.”

She sighs, her mama feels her against her chest. She waits, knowing her daughter and that she will need time to process what her mama said. After a few minutes, she lifts her head. “Mama, I wouldn’t do that, I mean, I wouldn’t deliberately do that. I just hurt so bad, I didn’t know what to do with it. Mama, I still don’t. “

“You know what Rebecca, neither do I. So how about this, we help each other through. I know I have been distance myself. I am sorry about that. I will try to do better. Will make you a deal, you eat and I will, you talk and I will. Okay?”

“Okay mama.” They try to smile at each other. Both fail but the try matters.

“Then let’s go get something to eat. There’s a ton of food still here from shiva.”

She carries the bunny with her.

Ono no Komachi

Ono no Komachi was a poetess of great renown during the Heian Period (794-1185 CE) of ancient Japan. The Kokinshu anthology, compiled in 905 CE, contains many of her poems, and her work and life inspired later writers of Noh drama. She is considered one of the rokkasen or Six Immortals of Poetry in Japan.

Biographical Details

Very little is known of Komachi's life except that she was perhaps born between 820 and 830 CE and was active in the mid-9th century CE. She was famous for her beauty and passion, she likely served at the court of Emperor Ninmyo (r. 833-850 CE), and her poems were a success in her own lifetime. Beyond this sparse information we know only some of the lovers Komachi addressed her poems to. Still, this has not prevented a myriad of legends being created about the poetess based loosely on some details within her poems. Indeed, by the 11th century CE, there were so many stories based on the figure of Komachi that some scholars have identified the object of the legends as actually four different women.

One of the most famous stories concerning Komachi is her rather harsh treatment of her admirer Fukakusa no Shosho. Komachi warned the would-be Romeo that he would have to visit her every night for 100 nights before she would submit to his charms. The poetess' beauty must indeed have been great for Fukakusa set about his task with determination and turned up each evening at Komachi's house in all weathers. Tragically, though, the strain proved too much and - so near, yet so far - Fukakusa died on the 99th night.

Other legends concern the writer's later life and hard times when, perhaps in comeuppance for her notoriously bad treatment of admirers, she lived to be 100 but roamed the streets ugly and dressed only in rags, the object of mockery from all who passed her. The life of the poetess and the legends which sprang up about her became a popular subject with writers of Noh drama from the 14th century CE onwards.
