Mom life. To become the title mom takes tremendous strength. It takes ripping the person you were into pieces. I have no clue what i was doing before having Bentley. Mindlessly going through life, enjoying mediocre things and stressing about minor inconveniences. The things that truly made me happy are so minimal now. The warmth you feel in your heart when your little human smiles at you is uncomparable. My opinion on parenting is that it is easier than what you expect but so much harder than you can imagine. Let me explain this a little more. Every dirty diaper, spit up, and lack of sleep is worth every moment of being with your little one. Thats the easy part. The hard part, to me anyway, is the moments when they are in pain, sick. Things out of our control. The guilt you feel when you are away. Its mentally exhausting. I feel as if i didnt get post partum depression but i am certainly feeling something. Days go by in the blink of an eye, a flash of feeding, playing, napping. Days are a routine that cant go array. People are distant and i CRAVE adult interaction. But then when adult interaction presents itself i find myself making excuses to stay home. I FIGHT to get a few wee hours to be the care free social butterfly i once was but then shy away after i get it. I get anxiety just thinking about social engagements and if i do attempt it i feel an OVERLOADING sense of guilt for not being with Bentley and for wanting to be away from him even if its just for a minute. I also feel lost. My purpose has become helping him grow and learn. When im away i feel like i have no purpose anymore. Because nothing matters anymore but Bentley. Im having a hard time finding the balance. I love Bentley and i know im being the best mother i can be and im overcome with an abundance of happiness with him in my life.
