How the TF2 Mercs De-stress/Manage Anger
Scout
Actually a stereotypical movie bad boy about it. Cigarette, batting cage, and punching bags his emotions out. Shouts at people and shoves them out of his way, throat closed up in welled up emotions, his lungs refusing to give him air as the tightness of slamming against the metaphorical wall of frustration feels like it kills him inside. You know what? Being so tired you can barely register the world around? It's better than feeling like an elephant trapped in a jam jar.
Soldier
Works out and represses the expressions unless he's in battle. That's actually where he gets most of his energy. He thinks of all the shit that pissed him off or made him feel small and uses that flicker of rage as the start of the firecracker of a soldier on the field. Doesn't talk about his emotions much and doesn't see any need to. Yeah, a few drinks in and he gets sappy, but that's normal. Anger usually gets metal pipes bent or people's faces bashed in. Usually both.
Pyro
Expresses anger and stress as overexcitabiliy and hyperactivity. A constant overstimulation mode. Referencing the comics, Pyro won't hesitate to kill a bitch knowingly if they are pissed off. They're the reason it's called a "crime of passion". High spikes of anger followed by a low simmer of calmness. Actually pretty good about deep breaths when it comes to mild annoyances or daily stress, but the over the top bullshit absolutely gets an over the top reaction.
Heavy
Intimidation and powerplay is the name of Heavy's game. Sharp glares and a clear body message of "I will snap your spine if you breathe near me." This comes from his time in the gulag, when he had to keep himself and his family safe. Looking murderous when upset had a lot of advantages. When it actually comes to relieving the anger, he's an isolationist. Def thinks over the situation over and over again as he distracts himself with one of his hobbies. Usually not reading because his mind wanders off too much to focus on the pages.
Engineer
Hyperactive workaholic. He locks himself in his workshop and doesn't leave until he makes something either revolutionary or a man made horror you could only fathom in your nightmares. Whatever, he can sell it to the Administrator as a torture device. Who cares. Engie isn't much of a talker so much as he is a ranter. He grumbles and shouts to himself in a one way conversation as he tightens that one bolt that gave him trouble. Only once has he dented one of his sentries with his wrench when the energy was too much to comprehend.
Demoman
As is his usual solution, he drinks. He drinks and he talks. It doesn't matter to who or even if people are with him. Talking and bitching helps him to understand the situation, get his feelings validated, and develop more points of view. If that doesn't work, there's always testing his explosives. That release of emotions as he watches the burn pile explode is cathartic in a way. Pyro usually joins in and watches the fire, giving Demo someone to talk to.
Sniper
Also an isolationist, but you couldn't tell either way unless you pissed him off while talking to him. If it's just him, then you wouldn't even know that motherfucker was milliseconds away from starting a fight. Mutters to himself softly, barely able to hear the words himself as he shoots at sodacans and empty food containers all lined up by his van. Long drives while music plays in the background is one of his guilty pleasures when he can get away with it. If you ask what's bothering him he'll have a 50/50 between shrugging and saying a dismissive "it's nothing, just woke up wrong" or will barely explain it, but get the just of it accurately.
Spy
Tries to work through it physically, not emotionally. Man's has never talked about his emotions in his life and you won't make him start now. Usually very bitchy when something pisses him off, and his weapon of choice is personal insults. It's a funny thing really. He needs to feel superior by putting others down because the anger and stress makes him feel weak. There is only one good way to snap him out of a bad mood: casually praise him. "Nice work, Spy." "I knew I could count on you." "Thanks Spy, you're a lifesaver." Are instant soothers. It's nice to be acknowledged.
Medic
Workaholic worse than Engie. This man is really out here about to create an elderitch horror because he stubbed his toe and spilled his coffee. Strained smiles and snide comments are his language when he's had a bad day. If someone directly irritates him, that man is a solid 6'1 minimum and is built. He will and continue to physically intimidate people. Has violent fantasies as a cope.

Helloo can I have the mercs taking care of a very sick gn reader?not feeling very well so some hurt comfort could help if you can! Tyyy
TF2 mercs taking care of a very sick reader
gn reader | i hope you get well soon anon! thank you for the ask :)
drabbles under the cut :P
Scout: - most likely just as sick, if not WORSE - he already can't keep his paws off you, he'll wanna smooch your sick little face until you feel better - he will bundle you up in blankets and cuddle you whilst you watch movies <33333333 - he runs out to get you a warm drink from your local cafe, tries (keyword tries) to make you your favourite warm meal - he will burn it, doesn't matter what it is, and you are forced to try and scoff down the meal - you throw up shortly after and scout just chalks it up to you getting even more sick - it's all in vein when he wakes up a couple days later feeling worse for wear and is stuck in bed with you - medic opts to take care of you - you both decline
Soldier: - he would firstly encourage you to work it off, trips to the gym, pushing you into battle - when he realizes that the respawn machine isn't fixing you, he forces you into bed rest - you play up your resistance, he pushes you further - "YOU MUST REST THIS INSTANT, CUPCAKE!" "auuughhh noooo i think you're riiiiight" - you giggle to yourself when he leaves the room - that amusement is short lived when he soon brings back some unidentifiable, viscous, black liquid in a small ceramic bowel - he says it's supposed to be soup - you throw up then and there from the stench - cooking isn't his strong suit, so he opts to tuck you in and kiss you goodnight - you graciously sleep off the illness
Pyro: - they're surprisingly good at taking care of you whilst sick - they, first of all, provide you with actual medicine, then they make you some soup and bread - you're pampered like royalty, your every little request answered by the pyro - they watch movies with you, cuddling you from behind - opting to keep their mask on, of course, to prevent the illness from spreading to them - that doesn't stop them from lifting it up slightly to peck your head as you sleep in their arms <33333 - gives you back massages, foot massages, traces their fingertips along your flesh - like i said, you are absolutely pampered. the other mercs would be shocked to see this side of them - you recover quickly!! all thanks to pyro <3
Demoman: - opts to leave you alone so that you can actually get some rest - when you do see him, he's bringing you medicine and food, giving you a quick peck on the lips, and leaving the room - it makes you a bit upset, you haven't really spent time with him in days!! :( - you wake up sometime during the night to find him curled up next to you, arms wrapped around your frame and nuzzling into you - you figure he's already going to get sick from this, so a couple of little kisses couldn't hurt - "mmm that tickles y/n...." he mumbles tiredly, giving you a squeeze - he soon wakes up, groggy and half drunk, to the feeling of you squeezing him back and peppering kisses all over his face and neck - "i missed ye too, lovey" - in his attempt to stay away from you, he ended up smothering you anyway, such is the way of demo
Heavy: - takes every precaution - growing up in the middle of russia with harsh winters that often left his sisters sick and vulnerable, with no easy access to medicine, it's a wonder that he would even let you get sick in the first place - so if you manage to, he is doing everything in his power to help you heal - he won't even let you get up to pee by yourself, you'll need him to carry you there so that you don't use your energy - well he's joking about that....partly... - absolutely refuses to have any physical intimacy with you whilst sick, he is the beating, murderous heart of the team and can't risk an illness - he still lets you know that you're loved, of course - showering you with words of love, providing you with all the care within his means <33
Engineer: - knowing engie, he would be too caught up with work to provide extensive care for you - he provides medicine, cooks you warm food, makes you warm drinks, etc - essentially the bare minimum of taking care for your sick partner - you don't mind, you know he's busy, but you still miss his warm touch and sweet words - "eenngggiiiieeeee plllleeeeaaasseeee taake caaaaree of meee" "i'm comin' darlin', just gimme a minute..." - he is NOT, in fact, 'comin'' - at least not for another hour or so because he is stuck in whatever he's working on - you are forced to drape yourself over his desk, immediately grabbing his attention, and passing out from the exhaustion - he carries you back to bed, feigning annoyance at your antics
Medic: - he's....literally a doctor - and an experimental one at that! - medic will give you plenty of different medicine, not entiiiiirely legal medicine, or medicine that has been tested in any capacity...but still medicine! - you're likely to end up more sick after letting medic take care of you - but he makes up for it! - you're petting archimedes whilst medic's cooking you a warm meal - is this what heaven feels like? - and then he feeds you another mystery pill and you're back to shitting your guts out and oh your skin is glowing! like nuclear green glowing! - yes you died from the mystery pills - but upon respawning you're....cured? - "zhe pills may need some more workzhopping!"
Sniper: - has pretty much no idea what to do - he doesn't really get sick, and when he does he does not give a shit, he will work in health and sickness - so when you're sick, he just grabs you some painkillers and tells you that you'll be alright, to take the day off, and drink some water - when he comes back from the match and you're lying in bed, pale, sweating, and shivering, he realizes that maybe you're a bit worse for wear - he consults an actual doctor, not medic, he has more common sense than that, and manages to get some advice for looking after you in this state - whilst he adores you, he can barely take care of himself, let alone you on top of that - awkwardly tries to make you feel better through cuddling and acts of service
Spy: - another merc who prefers to leave you to essentially take care of yourself giving the bare minimum to support you - he loves you, but he doesn't want to get sick and he doesn't really have the time or capacity to take care of you in a personal, meaningful way - so he will opt to giving you meds and nice foods, will occasionally kiss your head and stroke your hair, but that's the furthest he will go in terms of providing for you in this state - he will feel bad about it, often contemplating telling the other mercs to piss off and sitting with you, missing out on work to take care of his partner - he probably gives in eventually, especially if you're acting like you don't need him, it makes him want you more - will end up smothering you slightly, helping you heal whilst pampering you with kisses in a fake begrudging way

have you already done something like the mercs finding snow when they get up in the morning? if not that could be fun :D
Mercs Reaction To Finding Snow In The Morning!
————————————————————
Hi :) I have not! And I'm more than happy to do so as I'm writing this during a very green Christmas this year, so I'll live vicariously through this headcanon :)
————————————————————
Demo is probably mildly excited, he enjoys the snow. Back in Scotland snow was much more regular, and he liked it enough. When he moved to the base he found himself missing the snow every so often. So when he first sees the snow he's pretty happy, probably has a dumb smile. Also! He and Soldier wrestle in the snow and both get sick </3
————————————————————
Engie has never seen snow a day in his life. (I will die on this hill.) He never really expected it to snow on the base, he always assumed it would never get cold enough. But, he found himself feeling a bit happy at the sight of snow, something about it is just really nice to him. It's pretty and he likes it, he's not a huge fan of how cold it has to get for it to snow though.
————————————————————
Heavy is neutral. He grew up around snow, snow was both the bane of his existence and something that gave him his best childhood memories. So him waking up to find it is just another part of life. He really likes to watch the snow fall though.
————————————————————
Medic is not pleased. He likes snow well enough, it wasn't extremely common back in Germany and he always found it rather beautiful, but this man hates the cold. He gets cold so quickly and he stays cold for such a long time, he's genuinely always uncomfortable in the winter, so when he sees the snow, he wants to he happy but he's more upset at his impending discomfort. But on a positive note, hell find a way to fix this issue of his so he can enjoy the snow :)
————————————————————
Scout is so excited. This man loves snow, he loves winter, loves everything to do with it. It instantly reminds him of all the fun he used to have as a kid and he's immediately trying to drag the other mercs into playing in the snow, even if it's a light dusting, he's just like, so happy. He's immediately grinning like an idiot at the sight of the snow.
————————————————————
Sniper doesn't care, but he also thinks it's cool? Like okay, he'll look out of his van window and see some snow, and he'll just shrug and go back to whatever he was doing, but then he'll also think "That's actually so cool that nature does that." He's never really seen snow or felt any of the joy or hatred those who have grown up around snow have felt, so he can take it or leave it. Also, he's most likely to feel the cold before seeing the snow, he can feel the cold weather in his joints
————————————————————
Spy acts like he hates it more than he actually does. He'll bitch and moan for a good hour about how much he hates the snow, and how the cold is so awful and he just goes on and on, but on the inside he's actually really excited, he loves the snow, he loves the beauty of it, he even genuinely smiles when he sees the snow fall (if no one is around) but God forbid he admits he likes anything to the other mercs. He does genuinely not like the cold though, he has really bad circulation and it causes him a moderate amount of pain.
————————————————————
Soldier is so happy, next to Scout he's probably the merc that enjoys the snow the most. I think he just genuinely loves cold weather, no particularl reason, he just loves being cold. He does also like to sled and have a snowball war (fights are way too simple for him, obviously) so the second he sees snow he's probably waking up the entire base so they can experience the same excitement as him.
————————————————————
Pyro loves the snow, as odd as it might seem. It is a huge fan of building snowmen, and then melting them down, it's a little freak like that. But anyway, it also just likes having fun out in the snow with the team. So when it sees snow, it gets really excited and starts rushing outside as soon as possible to start having some winter fun.
————————————————————
How special, a headcanon for Christmas! I hope you like it! Thank you guys for being patient with me, it means a lot. I'm going to try and start writing more, call that a new years resolution. Anyways, Merry Christmas guys :)

TF2 Mercs W/ a Sad Reader but it's My Personal Headcanons
This is very scary.. it's almost like posting an opinion on the internet.
Anyway-
Tumblr media
The trilogy
THIS LEANS MORE TOWARDS RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS BECAUSE WELL... THEY'RE MY OWN HEADCANONS.
SCOUT:
Freaking out a little bit
Really depends on how big your meltdown is
He'll might ask if you need anything
"What can I do???"
He'll stay with you and try to cheer you up, but he can be serious about it too if you need him to.
He'd just stay close to you the whole time to make sure you're fine
DEMO:
Will also become upset even if he doesn't know why you're upset
Might just be like "☹️" as you vent because like I said, if you're upset, he's upset (trying so hard to empathize tbh)
He'd probably offer you a drink bc as I've said before, it's what he does when he's upset (it's what he does with anything, though, so..)
Will give you a hug if you need it or ask for it (gives some great ones, full stop)
He'll also stay by your side for support
HEAVY:
Heavy will sit down with you and listen to you talk about whatever's bothering you.
You have his full attention for as long as you need it
Like Demo, he'll hug you, and the hugs are always awesome (no surprise there, I mean look at him)
He'll reassure you that you'll be fine
If he has to work, he'll make sure to check up on you in between jobs
SOLDIER:
He might actually stop talking once he sees that you're genuinely upset
Don't expect complete silence because he will interject with every two words that come out of your mouth
"What?" "Why?" "I don't get it."
He's trying the best he can because he barely understands what people are saying when it's not the national anthem
Still, he will give you (very) rough pat on the head
"'Keep your chin up.' Ghandi said that. >:D"
SNIPER:
A reoccurring theme with him, but he doesn't know what to do
Wants to reach out to you so badly it's not even funny
If he actually does, then he'll just hug you while you cry, or vent, or whatever it is you might do
"You'll be a'right."
Supportiveness all around
Will drag you around with him afterwards because he doesn't wanna let you go yet
PYRO:
They will listen to you quietly, not saying a word as you speak your mind
Once they know you're finished talking, they'll reach out and hug you tightly
Also expect pats on the head
(Sorry y'all, I don't really have anything for Pyro other than this.. can't think of anything)
MEDIC:
No, he will not drop everything for you.
Sounds mean, but he's a very busy man
That being said, he fully invites you to talk to him anyway
He likes listening to you vent about anything and everything
He'll pause work every now and then to ruffle your hair or comment on something, letting you know that he's not dismissing you
If he happens to finish with his work, then he'll drop everything and hold you because he's just been dying to do so
ENGINEER:
Will feel sad to see you upset
He'll try to finish his work as quick as he can so that he can talk and listen to you
He'll put his hand on your arm or thigh and just rub it reassuringly to calm you down
He'd also look you in the eyes the whole time so that you know he's listening (someone get him brown contacts now)
Once your finished speaking, he'll pull you in for a hug and stroke your hair
SPY:
I imagine he would pull you aside if he sees you're upset, not wanting to bring light to it in front of everyone else
He'll then sit you down and listen to you talk (probably after prying it out of you)
Will nod every once in a while to show he's listening, and he'll also make eye contact or at least keep his focus on you the whole time
He'd offer advice on things depending on what you're talking about
Afterwards, he might offer to let you stay with him in his smoking room, just so you can be with him
(Not even sure if I agree with myself on some of these, I sometimes can't remember what I think of them smh)

May I request a mercs x Italian reader? And like kinda stereotypical type, like a/o getting upset when they break spaghetti, s/o cooks to show their love, the mercs reaction to s/o speaking their native tongue to them? 🤭
Mercs with an italian s/o
Scout just adores you to no end, his stomach is like a black hole so he’ll eat as much as you’re willing to cook! His mom loves you just as much- she’s just elated to see someone cares so much about her boy. Oh and don’t get him started on you speaking italian, he thinks it’s the most adorable thing in the world!
Sniper is blown away by how much you’ve improved on his life, this man used to purely survive off of cheap, greasy fast food simply because it was quick and easy- especially when he’d be on the road. But now he’s eating proper meals, he’s just head over heels for you.. especially when you talk to him in italian, he may not understand a word you’re saying- but he relishes in your heavy, pretty accent nonetheless.
Spy finds your relationship quite perfect, the both of you just seem to blend so well with your romantic cultures. He loves to indulge on your food, and will always praise you to the high heavens. Oh and goodness, he loves when you speak italian to him- he finds it incredibly romantic.
Soldier learned about how to properly cook spaghetti on the day you nearly killed him because he broke the pasta in half to put in in the pot, so he’s clearly learned a lot. And it’s the perfect opportunity to teach him how to cook, so on days you’re too tired to do anything- he can cook for you! which always ends up in a fire, but it’s the thought that counts. ♡
Engineer finds himself getting all giddy when he hears you speak italian, his face gets super flushed and he grins like a fool. And your meals just make his entire year, It’s like he’s back home again! And if you’d allow him- he’d love to help you cook in the kitchen.. he promises he learned his lesson after buying cheap-bad quality store bought sauce.
Heavy is putty in your hands, he loves your cooking- he loves how passionate you are, your beautiful language that makes him blush every time.. he loves you to no end! He even brags about you in the letters he writes to his mom and sisters back home.
Demo literally owes you his life, similar to sniper- He had a hard time eating actual meals instead of just whatever junk food he got his hands on, so if he’s dealing with a particularly rough hangover.. he’ll eat as much pastina as possible, and I promise he pays you back in the way he swiftly scoops you up in his arms to spoil you with kisses as soon as he hears that pretty language of yours!
Medic finds your culture quite lovely, and he even makes an effort to try and impress you by learning italian! and while his pronunciation isn’t.. the best, but it’s heartwarming to see him try nonetheless! and to show his gratitude, he’ll even make you foods from his childhood!
Pyro find out they REALLY like tortellini, and practically begs you to make it all the time- they just adore your cooking!

The mercs on a nudist beach?
LMAO oh this one is hilarious I’ll see what I can do.
Scout
Bruh he is beyond embarrassed at seeing people naked. Probably thought there were gonna be a bunch of hot chicks, and he’s mortified by all the regular ass middle-aged folks just hanging out (both figuratively and literally). Can’t carry a normal conversation if any dudes in the nude try to talk to him. Does his best to see as little of his teammates as humanly possible, and stands near the water so he can look at that view instead. Pretends he’s suddenly really interested in shells or something. Keeps his swim trunks securely on his body the whole time.
Soldier
Clothes gone. Simply vanished. In fact he probably destroyed them in his dedication to being naked. He feels free as fuck and has a grand old time, actually letting himself relax and have some fun. Builds a sandcastle of the White House and eats a sandwich (which he thinks is required because it has the word sand in it) before trying to catch fish with his bare hands (and bare everything else). He thinks everyone should be participating, and will lecture anyone who IS wearing clothes about how important “freedom” is in every sense of the word.
Pyro
To them it’s just like any other beach day. They personally keep covered head to toe, but they don’t care at all about other people being naked, they barely even seem to notice. They have fun playing usual beach games and splashing around in the water, and will be absolutely ecstatic if they are allowed to build a bonfire or access a fire pit.
Demo
He has no problem taking it all off, but secretly he is a little self conscious about his own body. As long as he’s not the only one in the nude, he quickly forgets any reservations and just focuses on having a good time. Probably helps Soldier with whatever crazy thing he’s doing. Doesn’t give a single fuck about other people being naked, but he will reassure anyone who seems nervous. Wants everyone to be comfortable, and will try to keep Soldier from yelling at anyone who does want to keep their clothes on
Heavy
Would have no shame whatsoever in being naked, he just has no interest in doing so in public. He’s too reserved. Doesn’t really understand why anyone feels the need to do so, but doesn’t care enough to ask .Perfectly content to sit on the beach with a good book or a nice conversation with Medic and let the others frolic around.
Engie
He’s way too shy to do more then unbutton his shirt a little extra. His southern modesty honestly makes him feel a little embarrassed around those who are naked. He’s real awkward about it, but eventually lets himself lie back with a beer and relax. He finds the best method is to try not to think about it and avert his eyes so no unfortunate images get seared permanently into his brain.
Medic
He’s a doctor for gods sake, he’s seen more naked bodies than he can count. You literally couldn’t pay him to care. He sees no particular reason to be naked himself, maybe if he planned on going in the water he’d give it a try, but really it just makes no difference to him. He mostly stays on the beach with Heavy, enjoying the fresh air and ocean scenery. Definitely the one mischievously feeding the seagulls
Sniper
The only thing he doesn’t take off is his hat. This is not an area in which Sniper has any shame or lack of confidence, he has no problem going au-natural. Seeing the others doesn’t bother him the slightest bit either. He just takes the opportunity to get a nap in the sun like a damn lizard with only his face covered by his slouch hat.
Spy
Won’t so much as take his jacket off. Maybe, maybe, with a lot of convincing, he’ll loosen his tie. He hates the beach, hates sand, hates seawater. There is nothing interesting enough for him to do, so he just kinda sits there grumpily. Naked people don’t bother him exactly, but he would certainly rather not see his coworkers without clothing. That said, he’s more upset about the sand in his shoes to be honest.

Can you tell us how the others treat archemedius and the other...doves/pigeons I'm not sure what they are you've shown us engi gets along with em but what about people like heavy and soldier...does pyro try to put little flowers on them like hats awww that would be adorable I like to think engi would play something on his guitar and they would leave you alone for awhile....do they annoy you a lot?
doves and pigeons are actually all part of the same family of birds (columbidae) and generally what most people think of when they think of the word 'pigeon' is a rock dove, so you can refer to them interchangeably! there is no technical distinction between dove and pigeon.
but that is not what you asked aheh.. i would say everyone gets along well with my doves, mostly i think because they know ill be very angry with them if they dont. as mentioned, engie likes them and they seem to really like him as well! heavy is also trustworthy around them and is usually calm so they tend to like him too. and youre right, pyro likes to play with them if they can manage to get their hands on one. theyre around fire so often that my birds tend to steer clear most of the time, but ive never seen them hurt any of them so it doesnt matter so much to me if they want to play with them. they are also quite fond of spy! dont tell him i told you this but i catch him petting them any time one lands on his shoulder. i dont think hed be very happy if any of them were to make a mess of his suit but regardless he seems to like their company and vice versa. as for the rest of the team.... its neutral. sniper doesnt mind them and they dont mind him. and the rest dont seem to care one way or the other either. i dont think they dislike them but scout, soldier, and demo can get awfully loud and move around so much a lot of the time that the doves tend to just avoid them anyway. archimedes in particular though, he will go up and land on just about anyone, and so far no one has seemed particularly upset by it.
as for me, they can certainly be nuisances at times, especially archimedes who loves to get in my way more than any of the others, but i could never be mad at them! generally i would say no, they do not annoy me much at all. i would not keep them around if they did.

Hellooo!! I just found this account and i gotta say i luvvv ur posts, they make me so happy :,) especially ur dadspy ones T-T . I ALSO wanted to ask if mayyybbbeee (only if u really want to ofc)… um write some cute lil headcannons bout my fav boy Scout 🥺 i feel like not a lot of people chose him as their favs but idk why but i think this man is the boy of my fucking dreams and it’d be rlly cool and epic if u wrote some cool/cute headcannons bout him 🥹 (sorry if this has been done before!!) - 💖
Scout was on his way to becoming a pro baseball player, he lost his scholarship however because he couldn’t keep his grades up.  he instead took the job for Mann Co. because it was really good money that he could send home to Ma
he thinks she’s disappointed in him for not getting into college even if to just play baseball, but she’s proud of him no matter what he does
he has a rabbit plush from his childhood that he sleeps with every night and hides during the day.  it’s been resewn over and over and is very dingy and dirty.  he has no idea who it’s from but it’s always been very special to him
Scout has his own comic series he draws on stowed away in his room.  he’s kept hidden because he’s embarrassed about it.  it’s a typical superhero comic with a self insert of himself as the main character
he copies things his teammates do, mostly Spy.  it’s always small things like how they stand or walk or if one of them starts acting all confident then he will too.  he doesn’t realize he does it, but he does because he looks up to all of them
he’s self conscious about his buck teeth but any time someone refers to them as cute or adorable, he gets all flustered and giddy over it
Scout is VERY praise driven, he thrives on having approval of everyone he looks up to.  if anyone on the team needs something done, he’s almost always the first to volunteer himself and loathes when they ask he take someone with him
he’s bi and doesn’t realize it, he just thinks it’s normal for guys to find other guys really hot and daydream about them and doodle them in his comics later.  he always has a justification for why that time he saw Soldier shirtless right after a shower made him all flustered
he was in both his high schools track and baseball team as the star player.  track was more a hobby to him so he could keep limber for his baseball games and when he’d go off and cause trouble with his brothers
Scout’s been arrested once before joining Mann Co. but doesn’t realize his brothers have actually kept him from getting in trouble with the law many more times.  they would always try to shove him out of the way and have him run home when they could tell cops were about to get involved because they knew if he got arrested, Ma would be very upset
he was arrested for taking part in robbing a gas station, and was young enough to be let off without any trouble
Scout’s name on his birth certificate is spelled with the accents (Jérémy) but everyone, even Ma, always spells it without.  he doesn’t even really know there are accents in his name
he’s semi-fluent in Italian
he looks up to Spy a lot.  he sees him as the father figure he never had and genuinely admires everything he does.  out of everyone on the team, he copies him the most, down to even sneakily buying himself a butterfly knife to teach himself how to flip it around like Spy does.  they pick on each other a lot and bicker even more, but they’re both just as quick to find little ways to say they’re sorry after things have calmed down
he considers everyone on the team his best friend, but he hangs around Pyro and Sniper mostly.  Pyro because they enjoy a lot of the same things he does when it comes to TV or comics or whatnot.  and Sniper because he’s a good listener and will allow him to just trail behind him all afternoon and talk his ear off.  and because after he came out of his shell, Sniper turned out to be just as much a troublemaker he was
Scout, Sniper, and Demo are the three to watch out for if there’s even a hint of a “so stupid it’s dangerous but sounds fun” idea floating around.  jumping off the base into a pool?  they’re gonna do it.  see how long someone can hold to the top of the camper while Sniper drives donuts in the desert?  let’s get drinks and see how bad this can go.  “I dare you to take a sip out the sewage water under the bridge.”  “okay, but you gotta do my chores for a week.”
also hi, you’re Sparkles now

can you do how mercs behave around children? if they’re dumb or comforting
thank you for this awesome request!! i had so much fun with it >:)
mercs with children
SCOUT
- he likes kids a lot! he's pretty good at matching their high energy and is quite immature and childish too, so it isn't difficult for him to connect with children. despite him being the youngest brother, he would actually make for a good big bro figure! :D ...well, sorta? sure, he's very fun, but my god he is IRRESPONSIBLE. please don't ever leave scout with kids alone. he's going to do something stupid to impress them or worse he will encourage THEM to do something stupid. there always has to be another person to supervise, because scout is pretty much just a bigger child that you have to look after along the smaller kids
SOLDIER
- idk this man probably doesn't even know what children are.... jk jk, of course he does, but he has no idea how to take care of them, even though that is not what he thinks. soldier thinks of himself as an excellent babysitter- which he is NOT. he's kind of like a fun crazy uncle who's super supportive and nice (in his own way). due to him being loud and eccentric, kids either love him or are scared of him, but usually it's the first option. soldier can be very fun to be with! he thinks of many ways to entertain the kiddos, but sometimes he's, well, too EXTREME. never leave him alone with kids or he's gonna teach them how to rocket jump and snap people's necks
PYRO
- ohh they're a sweetheart. pyro absolutely loves kids and immediately connects with them!! whether or not the kids like THEM however... that depends. sometimes kids start crying the moment they see pyro, but that's surprisingly rare! most kids love them :] i mean, pyro is like a perfect combination of childlike enough to vibe with the kids but also responsible enough to, yknow, actually look after them! pyro is quite good at cheering them up, too... a kid scrapped their knee? well, this firebug is already patching them up with cute bandaids and acting all silly and funny to make them laugh. also, pyro is 100% down for cute little tea parties
HEAVY
- very responsible, very good. heavy knows how to take care of kids, it's just that he's kinda awkward at it? not that he dislikes kids, but spending time with them isn't his cup of tea... like yeah, he knows what to do, but if you tell him to look after some child, he won't be very enthusiastic about it. that doesn't count for the kids though, cause children literally love him!!! heavy gives off this strong and caring aura that just makes you trust him, yknow? :D he's very good at comforting upset children and he doesn't even know HOW he's doing it. also, how you seen this man? he's literally built like a mountain, every child that he encounters wants nothing else but to climb him
DEMOMAN
- WONDERFUL with kids!! he's kinda like soldier, the typical fun crazy uncle, expect demo is actually responsible!! he's got a bunch of fun stories that he can share and knows lots of silly jokes. not only is he fun but he's very good at giving advice and overall being very supportive and encouraging. also, demo gets attached to kids quickly, like yeah MAYBE he knew this random kid for JUST 5 minutes but who cares? that's literally his little buddy! you got a problem?? also this one is so obvious but demo wears an eye patch!! do you even realize how many kids mistook him for a pirate? needless to say, children love him because he's cool AND looks cool
ENGINEER
- oh c'mon, this man gives off massive dad vibes. children immediately feel safe and happy around him and no one knows why?? like, what kind of magic is this...?? whenever engie interacts with children he just seems to naturally know what to do, even though i doubt he's had that much experience when it comes to taking care of kids. talent i guess. this man is smart asf so he knows hundreds of cool facts that he can entertain children with. he acts goofy and dumb around kids and is NOT embarrassed by it. as long as a kid is happy, he's happy. also, this man is SO supportive!!! there's a sad child? well they better be ready to not be sad anymore cause engie is preparing a heartfelt speech full of encouraging words to hype them up. hearing THE engineer tell you that he's proud of you is one of the best things ever fr
MEDIC
- actually...i don't recommend even letting him near kids. sure, he's responsible, he doesn't mind spending time with children AND he finds their childlike curiosity very endearing! it's just that he's, well, too....unhinged? most kids run away from him crying lol. which is obvious considering that he literally approaches them like "HELLO LITTLE ONES! who here wants to know how to dissect a human body?! :D" while he's smiling and giggling and shit. HORRIBLE babysitter, 0/10 experience. doesn't this man know that he should NOT speak of horrors beyond our comprehension with a 10 year old? smh!!!
SPY
- i'm sorry but spy doesn't like kids (or at least he convinces himself to dislike kids). he's pretty shitty when it comes to taking care of them. like, he KNOWS how to treat children and how to take care of them, he's just kind of a bitch. which is pretty funny considering that most of the time kids like him because they think he looks so cool... i mean, he's literally a spy!! his dislike towards children doesn't come from genuine hate, but rather regret, since it reminds him that he was an absent father for most of scout's life and missed so much. so yeah, he would rather not interact with kids in any way, but when there's, let's say, a lost child crying with no one else around, he will actually do a great job to comfort the little one and help them. he isn't heartless
SNIPER
- for someone so standoffish, sniper surprisingly has big amount of Dad Potential. he's VERY awkward when it comes to kids because of lack of experience, but other than that he's responsible and can be a decent caregiver. he knows all kinds of crazy stories that he would love to share, (by crazy i mean literally mindblowing) so it's not THAT difficult for him to entertain a kid. he can't exactly keep up with their energy cause he's tired 24/7, but he isn't annoyed by that either. in fact he finds it quite refreshing. to me he's kinda like the cool mysterious uncle who appears out of nowhere, tells you some crazy story and offers you the best life advice you've ever received and then disappears again for 6 months without elaborating. how fun. kids love him
anyways here's a scale on how much you can trust each merc with a child from most to least (based on their level of responsibility):
1. engie
2. demo
3. heavy
4. pyro
5. sniper
6. spy
7. medic
8. soldier
9. scout
best dad of the year award goes to engie
worst dad of the year goes to scout (even though his heart is in the right place)
and spy won the bitchiest dad of the year award!

How the mercs hug
Deciding to start this blog with some good ol fashion hug hcs
*scout
usually when he hugs someone it’s just super quick side hugs, then he goes running off to god knows where
however, if he notices you‘re sad, he‘ll attempt to give you a actual hug. Attempt. It’s usually kinda awkward at first but after a while he learns how to do it right. It’s the thought that counts tho, so you don’t mind.
*soldier
himbo man my beloved-
His hugs are very unexpected and rarely happens unless you two are dating. But when he does hug you, it’s a super tight bear hug. He also probably lifts you in the air while hugging you. Also very stiff at first. Once you two starts dating they become a bit more soft, but if you ever point it out he will get a bit flustered.
*pyro
Get used to the firebug hugging you cause it’s gonna happen a lot. Very warm, tight hugs. One for the morning, one after battle, and one before bed at minimum. This dude is a hugging monster. It’s impossible to escape their grip once they‘ve latched onto you.
*engie
This man will open up his arms and say „c‘mere!“ before he hugs you. Since he’s usually shorter than you, he tends to wrap his arms under yours when you hugs. Like pyro, he gives very warm hugs, however his aren’t very tight unless he thinks you’re upset or sad. Will probably pat you on the back like the dad he is
*demo
Himbo man my beloved-
He has two different types of hugs: drunk and sober. When he’s drunk, it’s a lot less of a „hug“ and more of a „latching onto you for dear life“. He‘ll usually Mutter how much he loves you when drunk hugging, either that or about his missing eyeball that tried to kill him. Has a very tight grip on you when he drunk hugs.
His sober hugs ,however, are more hug-like. Usually very soft and warm, he doesn’t want to accidentally make you uncomfortable. Will also run circles on your back and talk to you about his day, overall 11/10 would hug again.
*heavy
This man is so scared he‘ll accidentally hurt you, his hugs are so soft and fragile but endearing at the same time. If you reassure him that he wont accidentally hurt you enough times, he‘ll give you more tight bear hugs. Also more likely to pick you up while hugging since he’s absolutely HUGE.
*medic
Like soldier, this man does not hug a lot unless you two are dating. His hugs are very awkward and usually quick, he just doesn’t know how they work. Give him some time tho and he‘s give you super tight bear hugs and squeeze the shit out of you.
*sniper
This guy is so touched starved and embarrassed about it you‘re most likely gonna have to start the hugs at first. The first few seconds of the hug he’s very stiff, stick man. After that, he just completely melts into your arms. Very warm, however his hugs aren’t either soft or tight, they‘re somewhere in between.
*spy
Again, he will rarely hug you unless you two are dating. He gives very soft, quick hugs and then just pretends like nothing happens. He does that cause the little bastard likes to hear you ask him for more hugs. Will absolutely tease you about it but comply. He actually really loved hugging you cause it makes him feel better to know you‘re safe in his arms, but he‘ll never say that.

Could I request some headcanons for what the mercs would be like crying in front of their s/o? Or what it would take to get them to?
Scout:
It’d have to take him getting really, really angry or frustrated. Typically the only things that will push him this far are embarrassing himself really badly, losing a match, or somebody insulting him about something that he’s really sensitive about (like his lack of a dad, or if they tore him down about his appearance).
When he cries, he runs off somewhere to sit in a dark corner and bury his face in his knees, because he doesn’t want anyone to see him. When you come to see if he’s alright, he yells at you to leave, but makes no physical effort to force you. He still doesn’t do anything when you wrap your arms around him; in fact, after a while, the tension in his body leaves and he kinda slumps into your arms, burying his face in your chest or shoulder.
Soldier:
Solly is a person that you’d never expect to cry. Typically, he never does, because insults go over his head and he typically just demolishes a punching bag when he’s emotional. But he can come incredibly distraught when thinking about his early experiences in war.
When he feels like he’s about to cry, he locks himself in his room. He’d get angry at anyone who knocks on his door, except you, of course. When you knock, he opens the door wordlessly and captures you in a tight hug. He holds you close and buries his face in your shoulder, almost like an upset toddler. Usually, he’s never been able to talk about things that make him upset without getting brushed off, so getting held and being allowed to talk things out makes him feel a lot better.
Pyro:
I can’t really imagine Pyro as being much of a crier????? Like, maybe they’d cry if you were really upset with them, but that’s about it.
I guess that when they cry, they typically just sit by themselves, softly but audibly sniffling under the mask. If you ask them what’s wrong, they don’t answer, but if you come close, they’ll rest their head on your shoulder and tightly grip your hand. They’re back to normal in a few hours, but they don’t wanna talk about the crying and will disregard it if you bring it up.
Demo:
If he’s drunk, he constantly cries over things that are often random and unimportant. When he’s sober, he usually gets frustrated or angry rather than sad, so he’d only cry about something huge like losing his mom. Also, he’s quite touch and affection starved, so give him gentle affection when he’s upset or stressed- might make him get emotional and tear up a lot.
The way he gets emotional when he receives affection is actually quite cute. He’s big on affection and initiates it 99.9% of the time, so it’s a surprise to him that you would actively seek out affection from him and initiate it. He gets a little flustered and has the cutest nervous smile, but he melts into your arms and cuddles close like a happy cat, puts his head on your shoulder, and wipes his eye and cheek behind your back.
Heavy:
Heavy likes to present himself like he doesn’t get scared or sad or upset, but he does, he just hides it and uses healthy ways of coping or releasing emotion. So it’s very rare for him to cry, especially around other people, even his family. It’d have to take something extremely impactful, like the loss of a family member, to make him cry in front of other people.
When he cries, he does it quietly and by himself. When you find him by accident, he says nothing and just looks away, but he doesn’t try to stop you when you approach him. You reach up and touch his cheeks wordlessly, acknowledging that he clearly doesn’t want to talk. He only looks up at you for a moment before pulling you into a gentle hug, taking in the warmth and comfort of your body.
Engineer:
I don’t actually think Engineer is much of a crier either? His emotions probably come out as anger and frustration (which is obviously never taken out on you). I can imagine that he might cry after losing a loved one. And he’s a very patient and well-tempered person, but I think a very, very long string of failures with inventions might make him angry-cry.
When you find him crying, he wipes his eyes and hangs his head, refusing to look at you. But when you approach him and try to comfort him, he weakly complies and lets himself get wrapped in a hug. If you ask him to, he rants his heart out. Once he calms down, he pulls away, wipes his eyes again, and gives you a weak smile, clearly grateful for the comfort. “Look at me, moping and crying like a child,” he says with a soft, breathless chuckle.
Medic:
Saying that Medic’s childhood was rough is an understatement. He tends to ignore that part of his life and doesn’t talk about it/won’t ever elaborate, but sometimes he can’t avoid bad dreams and scary memories. They tend to stress him out a lot and take him back to the roughest events of his life, so of course he tends to cry after one of these flashbacks.
When he has these memories, he tends to hole up in his lab or his quarters, as it often comes with a bad mental crash. Another mercenaries had mentioned that he seemed out of it earlier, so you went to go check on him, and you found him an exhausted and miserable mess. He immediately crushed you in a hug, crying into your shoulder or cheek. Your body’s warmth and your voice really helps ground him and calm him down. Over a little while, he relaxes a bit and practically melts into you, maybe even falling asleep, but not before he manages to softly thank you for staying with him and comforting him.
Sniper:
Sniper doesn’t seem like much of a crier, and he’s typically not. But he spent a lot of time crying his eyes out until alcohol made him numb in the first few months after his parents’ death. And, like Demo, a lot of affection could easily make him emotional and cry a little because he’s so unbelievably touch starved.
One time, you find him in his quarters (no I don’t think he lives in the van), clearly having a bad day. You sit down next to him and stroke his back, asking him whats wrong. “Nothin’. Just a long day,” he responds weakly. When you reach up to touch his face and comfort him, he jumps a bit in surprise, being unused to people touching his face, but he leans into your hand and closes his eyes. For a moment, you didn’t even realize he was starting to cry, but he sniffles loudly and his eyes are wet when he opens them. He still gives you a soft smile, grateful for the comfort.
Spy:
Basically never cries because he’s excellent at bottling up every emotion he feels and acting like everything is okay. Even losing a loved one wouldn’t make him cry, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not absolutely traumatized and heartbroken; He just doesn’t show it externally. The only thing that could make him cry is a loved one trying to help him improve his mental state- of course, letting out his feelings is an incredibly important part. He strongly resists their attempts for a long time, but seeing how worried they are about him and how much they care makes him fall apart.
He just randomly starts crying in the middle of a conversation about you trying to help him mentally heal. Like, all of a sudden, he buries his face in his hand and sniffles softly. He lets you hug and comfort him, but he hides his face out of shame as he silently sobs into his hand.

How would the mercs react to the reader confessing their feelings in a very direct/blunt way?
Scout
He’s surprised—and you confessing your feelings to him will get him to actually stop talking for a few seconds. He talks a lot of big talk but when you confess your feelings to him, he can only blush and stammer out that he likes you too.
Soldier
He grins; when he hears you confess, blunt as it is, a slow smile spreads across his face. He grabs you and pulls you into a tight hug; the bluntness doesn’t put him off at all, he’s just happy that you feel that way about him and that you told him.
Pyro
They go very still; it’s very hard to judge Pyro’s emotions behind the mask. It’s easy to, perhaps, feel anxious that you have upset them— but after a few seconds, they jump and clap, and the hug they pull you into is clear indication that they feel the same way.
Demoman
Like Pyro, he momentarily goes very still, but unlike Pyro, you can see his surprise on his face. His eyes widen and his mouth gradually pulls up into a shy smile. He scratches the back of his head for a moment, before all that shyness gives way into joy, and he just as bluntly states that he feels the same.
Heavy
Heavy is often stoic, but that confession sure causes his eyes to widen, like Demo’s. It’s hard to to know what exactly he’s feeling, because he’s so quiet and still, but he soon turns to you, takes your hands, and confesses with a small, sincere smile that he’s liked you too, and for a long time.
Engineer
Instant blushing mess. Expect a lot of shy rubs to the back of his neck and a lot of “shucks”. When he finally gathers himself, he takes his hat off and tells you that he likes you too, though the blush on his face will not fade for a while.
Medic
He’s often engrossed with his work, so he is honestly taken by surprise. Thankfully, the Medic is quite unpredictable, so this confession, while surprising, doesn’t exactly knock him off of his feet. Grins and states that he feels the same way in the same blunt tone that you used on him.
Sniper
The polar opposite of Medic. He’s caught by surprise too, but the bluntness does knock him off of his feet, almost literally. Poor guy can’t even look at you, just state that he likes you too; give him some time to gather his bearings and he’ll be over the moon.
Spy
He already knows, he’s just been waiting for the moment when you’d eventually crack and tell him. Though the bluntness makes him raise his eyebrows, he’s smooth as ever. Probably teases you a bit about it, but it’s all in good fun, as it ends up with him confessing his own feelings in his own suave way.

The Mercs in the pool!
It's really hot down here guys
Scout:
An excuse to show off his awesome giant sexy muscles? He'll take it. Can barely swim, so he'll lay on the side of the pool and pretend he's being cool. If there's a water fight he will happily jump in though.
Soldier:
American flag swim shorts and the largest cannonballs you've ever seen. Surprisingly stealthy underwater too, will sneak up on you and yell in your ear or push your head under.
Pyro:
Not a fan of being in water. They'll lounge on a Balloonicorn floatie sitting outside of the pool to join in, or splash their legs around in the shallow end. Enjoys being splashed.
Demo:
Has always been a fan of water. Can keep his eye open underwater, and is a real graceful swimmer. Wins all the breath holding competitions.
Heavy:
Never learnt to swim, but he isn't too upset. He prefers watching over the others anyway. They are his little ducklings.
Engie:
On life guard duty, which is actually just stopping them from drowning each other duty. Has the gunslinger in a protective waterproof bag, but it is still effective at wrangling the others.
Medic:
Tells you fun facts about the different diseases that can spread in pools while seeing how long he can hold Soldier's head underwater before he falls unconscious. Can't see very well without his glasses, everything's just blobs, but that never stops scientific progress!
Sniper:
Big fan of watersports, and is pretty natural in the water. Some odd New Zealand genes I'd imagine. Floats with his eyes just above the waterline like a croc.
Spy:
No way he's going near that pit with his expensive suit. Hates getting wet and will murder anyone who splashes him, much like a cat.

Your tf2 headcannons make me smile :), how about the mercs going into their favorite game for a day and they have ti survive
Would The TF2 Mercs Survive In Their Favorite Video Game World? (+ Their Favorite Video Games)
————————————————————
Awe! I'm so glad I can make you smile 😭Honestly makes me so happy in general to be able to make stuff people enjoy! For the sake of this to make seance I'm going to pretend that all these games work on real human time and take 24hrs for a day to pass (If the game takes more than one day to beat) or the game to be finished. (If the days passing is unspecified)
Also! Mutual appreciation comment time! Thank you for being a mutual I love your asks and thank you for all the likes 💖
————————————————————
Okay enough of that to the prompt!
————————————————————
TW: BLOOD, GORE, AND MENTIONS OF DEATH!
SPOILERS TOO FOR, OUTLAST, UNDERTALE,
————————————————————
Demo- Borderlands 2
Of course Demo would love a game with mayhem, destruction, and humor. He also loves the fact that (for him at least) the game never gets boring, or dull. He always has fun when ever he loads up the game, so waking up one day in the game was both super exciting, and terrifying. I think he would survive, but then die as soon as the day was almost over, like he's not dying the second he wakes up, he's pretty good at the game after all, but he'd get confident, and then two seconds before the day his over he's shot in the head or something 😭
————————————————————
Engie- Minecraft
I know, I know. It's not a fresh, new, or even controversial take, it's just what everyone assumes, but I wholeheartedly agree Minecraft is his favorite game. He loves the freedom to build, he thinks it super cool he can use things that he would normally not be able to build with. He also loves being able to play with his friends (Pyro and Scout) specifically. He's beat the game at least ten times, and knows the game inside and out. Waking up in the game was suppressing, but to be honest, I think he's had weirder situations happen. He immediately knows what to do, and is on it. After only twenty minutes of being in the game, he's already working on a house, by time the night is actually here he's somehow found diamonds and is working on his nether portal, is so upset to wake up in his bed the next day. He's bitter he couldn't finish the game. Doesn't die, obviously, but did have strong words with a skeleton after receiving an arrow to the back of the head.
———————————————————
Heavy- Animal Crossing New Horizons.
I'm going to say it, this man doesn't really like violent video games. I know, controversial. My thing is, I don't think some of the mercs want to spend all their time killing, and then come back and kill fictional characters. But I could be wrong, but that doesn't matter because Heavy like Animal Crossing. He loves the villagers, loves the mundane tasks, loves how just, relaxing playing the game is. If he woke up on his AC island he'd be so happy. Hugs all the villagers, fishes, catches bugs, talks to Blathers about literally everything he can. This man is just having a great time, and I for one, am happy for him. Doesn't die (Even if he could, he still wouldn't) But did get stung by wasps at least once trying to catch them.
————————————————————
Medic- Outlast (For the sake of the game being finished in the way Outlast is played medic is forced into the same confines Miles is put in)
Are we shocked that this man loves one of the most iconic horror games ever made? Loves how many boundaries it destroyed, how gross some of the parts are, and how bloody other parts can be. Giggles at all the gory scenes. ALSO WHEN SEES THE DOCTOR??? When he wakes up in the world, he's very excited until he remembers how pretty much useless Miles is. He still, remains confident in his survival skills, still goes through the physical issues Miles goes through, and finds that to be rather inconvenient, (Regrets always complaining about how upset Miles seems to get, but he understands now that maybe, just maybe, when you aren't able to heal almost immediately, that losing a finger or two isn't super easy to cope with) but regardless, he does survive, he doesn't die because of a lack of skill or overconfidence, but dies do to the plot advancement, you know?
————————————————————
Scout- Apex Legends
I think in the same vein as Engie, this probably isn't a fresh take, but it still fits. Scout is good at Apex, like really good. I think it's easy to make him a silly little guy, but he's ruthless when he wants or needs to be. This man is an Apex champion more than most people, has more kills than you'd ever think, and is honestly a better teammate in Apex than on the field with the other mercs 😭 He wakes up in Apex world and he's so thrilled, he's ready to put his real-world skills into his favorite game and does pretty well until he's knocked down by an enemy, he hides behind a box and waits for his teammates to come help him, they start moving father away, he moves over to them, they move again, he bleeds out as his two other teammates walk away from him. (Totally never happened to me) then they didn't pick up his banner, so eventually, he just woke up after dying and is so pissed. It did make him a bit kinder when it comes to helping out his teammates, in hopes that he'll never go through that again.
————————————————————
Sniper- Superhot
Way too good at Superhot, it's almost troubling how many hours he's put into the game. You'd swear you could see the enemies shaking anytime they appear on camera. Sniper sometimes uses this as an opportunity to practice dodging, but also just has fun fighting against an enemy. Loves the slo-mo shots he can get. Loves splitting enemies in half with different weapons. Also love the mind control and weird story setup of it all. If he woke up suddenly pixilated, fighting other pixilated entities, he's either freaking out or shrugging it off. Probably the latter, knowing him. He survives well, with only a few close calls, it's a lot easier when your hitbox isn't an entire VR headset after all. Genuinely has fun being put in the Superhot world for a day.
————————————————————
Spy- Hitman
Now, I thought I'd be so clever and come up with original ideas, but I was wrong. I think Spy plays Hitman plays for ideas, how weapons would look, how messy a kill would be, etc. Also loves being able to have very minimal risk when he's "killing" It stresses a guy out when you live life trying not to get caught every day, you know? As much as this man likes this game, he is so pissy when he wakes up in this game. He's basically just living a full 24 hours of his regular day job and is exhausted by the end of it. He does a good job, doesn't get caught, and manages to keep his suit clean. Has never been so received to wake up.
————————————————————
Soldier- Call of Duty Modern Warfare
A man who loves war likes a game about war, who would have guessed? No, but in all honesty, the military aspect is one of his favorite parts of it, he also loves the range of weapons and all the different roles you can play in the game. I'm not going to lie though, if he woke up in the COD world, he'd probably have a breakdown. Like he'd freak thinking everything before this was a fever dream, but he'll eventually figure it out. He would kill at any task he was given, and survive, he'd wake up and immediately feel better because as much as he loves the game, he never wants to go back.
————————————————————
Pyro- Undertale
Pyro loves Undertale so much that it's insane. Has played his game, at least 30 times. Has never, not even once, played the genocide route. They cannot bring themselves to kill a froggit, let alone Papyrus or anyone else. When Pyro wakes up in the Undertale world they are thrilled, jumping up and down, giggling, screaming, you know all that fun. Literally gives Toriel the biggest hug ever. They have the best time of their life. Manages to do a deathless run, somehow, probably because of the insane amount of times they've played through it, but is heartbroken that they wake up after only being able to get through the neutral route.
————————————————————
I'm sorry this took so long! I loved this prompt but I hit a slump, and I've been fighting with myself to get it posted, I'm sorry if it's not great, I hope you like it though 💖
I'll try and be more consistent I promise 🫶🏻

Do you have any autistic Scout headcanons? :P
Hell yeah!
I’ve actually thought about this a lot. A lot of people might think that Scout has ADHD, but I think he either has both ADHD and autism or just autism.
This is both because labeling Scout as having just ADHD is kind of a low-hanging fruit, and I also want to explore his symptoms a little more. So, in a word, I do, and thank you for asking about them!
*****************
Scout’s Spectrum:
So, where exactly does Scout fall on the autism spectrum?
First of all, he probably has both ADHD and autism, but wasn’t diagnosed with the latter until much later. This means that some of his symptoms were taken into account, but not all.
The ones that were paid attention to ramped up out of control, and the ones he didn’t hear about were stuffed away.
His ADHD symptoms include impulsiveness, need for stimulation, hyperfixations, forgetfulness, and insomnia; his autism symptoms include trouble with social skills, stimming, near inability to remember names and faces, lack of eye contact, hyperfixations again, and sensory processing issues, especially with noise and touch.
He used to have a lot of meltdowns when he was younger, usually about wearing new clothes and the amount of noise his eight brothers generated.
However, he was teased and pushed into masking nearly all the time, and made his whole personality about his ADHD, since that was what everyone accepted.
As he got older, he usually wrote off any autistic tendencies as either his ADHD or just “little habits” of his.
During his middle school years, he used energy drinks to bounce back from being exhausted every day after school. This would work, except those energy drinks would upset his ADHD, and would make it much harder to focus on even basic conversation.
After a while, he got such bad grades and had such a hard time making friends that Scout just stopped going to school altogether.
Baseball helped his focus, and the quick movement and thinking made a lot of sense to him. He never had to wait very long for the next development, and the instant gratification and community it provided supplemented what he never got at school.
With sports on his side, he rarely ever drank any energy drinks (the coach would never let them on the field), and he drank bucketfuls of water during every meet and game. Those teenage years were probably the healthiest he ever was.
However, with the amount of rumbles he got into with his brothers, and the turf wars that constantly raged in those neighborhoods, it was only a matter of time before his crime caught up with him.
After his first incarceration, he was booted from the team, which led to a downward spiral of unhealthy coping mechanisms - which included fighting someone tooth and nail whenever he could.
Even if he lost the fight, it not only catered to his impulsive nature and impatience, but also gave him roughly the same sense of friendship and camaraderie that baseball had.
One thing led to another, and by the time Mann Co. found him, Scout was a monster in hand to hand (and bat to bat) and had racked up quite the criminal record.
A perfect mercenary, ripe for the picking.
On The Team:
Scout very quickly adopted the “stupid, scrappy Boston boy” persona.
It was the only thing that made sense, and it kept him from having to try too hard in both the battlefield and socially.
Besides, that meant that he could be as silly, forgetful, and fidgety as he wanted, and no one would bat an eye.
And if he ever needed to take a break from the team, he figured everyone would appreciate the quiet.
The only thing that ever gave him away was him occasionally dissociating right when battle began, especially if the day had been stressful.
It was usually how he calmed down after a fight when he was young, but now he sometimes slid into that state when he was overwhelmed.
However, a yell from one of his teammates would usually snap him out of it.
Medic noticed this pretty early on, and wanted to look more into it, but Scout would keep making excuses not to get a mental examination.
He would blame it on zoning out, being tired, drinking too many Bonks - whatever it took for people to stop asking.
And, eventually, they did.
Even Medic stopped asking after a while - he couldn’t get a thing out of Scout.
This “try so little that when you do try it’s above average” charade worked for a long time. In fact, it went on for so long that Scout forgot how much he was actually capable of.
He began to internalize the stupidity, the exacerbation, the many comments on how dumb he was, everything.
The only time he ever gave his all was on the battlefield - moving fast, memorizing strategies, doing complicated footwork, knowing exactly how much force it took to crush someone’s skull with his bat.
That was one of the only things that he felt good doing, the only thing he could really work on without him being “found out.”
That and drawing, though he never showed the actual pieces to anyone. It was all stick figures and crooked lines with everyone else.
Sometimes, though, Scout wouldn’t be paying attention and he’d let something slip.
One time, Engineer was looking for his screwdriver, and couldn’t seem to find it anywhere.
Scout, not looking up from his comic, said, “Under the couch cushion, hard hat.”
Engineer bent down and reached into the couch, and his hand came back with his red and yellow striped screwdriver.
“Well I’ll be damned…”
At first Engineer thought Scout had just hid it, but Scout explained, still not paying attention:
“Last time we went out on th’ field, you had it on your belt, like always. But I was walkin’ by your workshop, you were usin’ a quarter to tighten a screw or somethin’. Your screwdriver had to be somewhere between the battlefield and your workshop. Engie, you’re like freakin’ clockwork. Every day, after a fight, you go to the kitchen, get a water, go to that couch, between the second and third cushion from the left, and sit there. Then ya go back to the fridge to get lunch and a beer, and ya go to your workshop until somebody needs you for somethin’. Your back loop in your tool belt is looser than all the others, ‘cause the screwdriver pulls against it when you sit down. The shank was probably in between the two cushions, and when you got up, it fell in. Demo, Pyro, and Heavy all sit on the second or third cushion at some point, so it got shimmied down. And since that’s the only time you sat down, ‘cause you woulda heard it if it dropped on the floor, and I…uh…”
“I’ll be damned,” Engie repeated, and felt the back tool belt loop. It was indeed loose.
Scout finally looked up, and realized what had happened.
“Uh, uh - l-lucky guess, huh Engie?”
Engineer squinted behind his goggles. “Yeah…real lucky…”
What ensued was Engie trying to get Scout to turn into a B.L.U Spy by chasing him around with his wrench. After a few good hits, though, Engineer saw that it was the teammate he knew and loved.
“But…how didja…?”
Scout threw his hand up, the other rubbing the back of his head where he’d been hit.
“I toldja Engie! Lucky guess! Jesus!”
Ever since then, Scout chose his words more carefully.
The Breakdown:
But, unfortunately, Scout could not pretend forever.
There was one week where Scout’s assignment count was so high that, if he wasn’t in a fight, he was on a mission.
Usually, Pauling wouldn’t trust him with so much, but no one else was available - or willing - to do the jobs.
Even when she was getting concerned about the amount of hours Scout was putting in, he blew it off.
“It’s no sweat, Miss Pauling! Their practically givin’ me the pay day. Those yahoos don’t know who they’re messin’ with.”
Over time, though, Scout had a harder and harder time staying focused and alert.
He’d sleep through alarms, stare off into space, zone out completely during briefing (not that he didn’t already do that), have a hard time hearing people in battle - even through his headset - ignore Spy’s taunts, and even forget to bring his bat onto the field.
Nothing seemed to help - Bonk!, warming up, stretching, cold showers, setting reminders, nothing.
And the team was starting to notice.
At first it was with the regular frustration - maybe Scout was just being lazy.
But as time went on, and his condition grew worse, their scorn turned into worry. They implored Medic to do something, but he had no way of getting through to Scout.
The doctor wasn’t above simply sedating him and dragging him into his lab for a check-up. However, he had a feeling that this was more than a physical issue.
The worst came when Scout was doing a routine battle with the B.L.U team on the field.
Everything had started out okay - he even remembered to bring his bad this time - but suddenly, everything was ear-splittingly loud.
He couldn’t focus on more than one sound at once, much less communicate the best course of action to his teammates.
He ended up hiding in a dilapidated shed, in a dusty, dark corner, somewhere between zoning out and panicking.
Scout’s head was in his knees, he was shaking, close to crying, when a sudden splitting of wood roused him.
A B.L.U Soldier had kicked his way into the shed, either having heard Scout or to hide from the other team.
Scout was stunned at first, but something of a blind terror filled him. He picked up his bat, screamed, and started pummeling the surprised Soldier.
At some point, he threw aside his bat and began to swing punch after punch, just like he did in his gang days when he had felt overwhelmed. Still screaming. Still crying.
By the time Scout had dissolved into a rocking, sobbing mess, the Soldier was long dead, with a gigantic pool of blood staining Scout’s shoes.
No one even knew where Scout was until a few hours later, when Spy heard a faint note of “Sexbomb” coming from Scout’s Walkman.
Scout had crawled into the shed’s framework, between the outer and inner wall, and was playing a specific verse over and over and over again, looking like he was on another plane of existence.
Spy immediately called for Medic, who had to lift Scout out by the underarms through a jagged hole in the side of the building. By then, the fight was over, so they could take him directly to the lab.
Medic’s Evaluation:
“I’m guessing zhis is your first mental breakdown?”
“Mental…doc, I ain’t crazy. Wait, you’re not goin’ to put me in a straight jacket, are ya?”
“If you’re not doing anyzhing later.”
Medic started to laugh, but quickly realized this might not be the time.
“No, Scout, everyvun has a mental breakdown at least vunce in their lives. It’s a…how do you say…a vake-up call of sorts. Vhen your body has no other options left.”
“Whaddya mean?”
“For zhe past few months, you health, both physical and mental, has been deteriorating. You eat less. You talk less. Your attacks are lackluster. You have bags under your eyes. You flinch vhen somevun yells for you. You stare off into space. Your routine, vhich usually has at least some changes, has become stringent, as if you can’t possibly expend any more energy into extra activities. You have avoided Demoman on zhe battlefield, even though you usually use him for cover.”
Medic flipped through his notes.
“I have pages and pages of your decline. However, as a scientist, I believe it is caused by zhe same source. And, though I usually respect my patient’s right to privacy vhen it comes to these sorts of matters, I believe you’ve been keeping something from me. Something that I should know as your general practitioner…your doctor.”
Scout shrugged, already shutting out the conversation.
Medic sighed.
“Maybe I tried to talk to you about zhis too soon. After all, you’ve just had a very sudden and exhausting episode. But…perhaps…”
Medic took a sheet of printer paper from his clipboard and a spare pen from his pocket.
“…zhere is an alternative.”
Scout was still unresponsive, but Medic continued.
“Zhere is a patient in my vaiting room vis a metal pole through the chest. It vill take me at least an hour to properly remove it, and a few minutes more to heal zhe area. Vhile I do zhat, vhy don’t you draw how you feel?”
Medic smiled.
“I know how much it grounds you.”
It wasn’t until Medic left that Scout actually picked up the pen, but he began drawing immediately.
For the first time in a while, he wasn’t trying to hide his strokes or scratch up the cleaner lines. No more stick figures. No more pretending.
Five minutes later, he was fully engrossed.
Medic started to walk in at one point, but, seeing how relaxed Scout was, decided to give him a few more minutes.
He deserved it.
