“You’re trying not to cry, aren’t you?” Javi had slipped into the living room behind you, wrapping an arm around your waist as he pulled you into his strong, warm body.

“Shut up,” you said without even a hint of malice, “look at them. They’re so precious, they’re ours, we made them.”

The scene in front of you was definitely adorable; your children, all five of them, were sitting near the Christmas tree, patiently waiting for the okay to open presents. Breakfast was first, as you’d reminded them, but they were just too excited to see what Santa had brought. They were all wearing matching pajamas, as were you and Javier. You’d almost lost it when Javi had come home with matching sets for all seven of you, including baby Bella.

“We sure did,” Javier chuckled warmly and pressed a kiss to the side of your head, “but you did all the hard work, really. I just contributed.”

“You contributed almost too much,” you turned your head to look at him, “I carry them - suffering, mind you - for nine months and they all take after you. Every single one of them.”

“Strong genes,” Javier joked before turning you around to kiss you properly, “but if it’s any consolation, I’m pretty sure Bella looks more like you.”

“Well thank you for giving me one of them,” you teased, softly dropping your voice, “you know, if we really wanted to, we could have another and see who they would take after. Maybe it's my genes’ turn.”

“Baby,” he groaned softly as you just beamed at him, “Dulzura, don't say things like that to me. It's not fair.”

“You just like seeing me pregnant,” you took his face in your hands before kissing his cheeks, “Javier-”

“Mama! When are we opening presents, we've been waiting forever,” Lucia thought she was being sneaky as she moved closer to the pile of presents.

“Lucia,” you tutted at her, “I see one finger on those presents, mija, and Santa is taking all the presents back.”

She gasped softly as she practically jumped away, “sorry mama.”

“I'm hungry,” Santi perked up as you looked at your husband, “I want pancakes…please.”

“You heard your son,” you ushered Javier towards the kitchen, “he's hungry. Don't let your children starve.”

“Are you going to help me?” He raised an eyebrow as you stepped towards the kids, “oh really.”

“I gotta make sure they stay alive,” you sat down next to them and Diego immediately crawled into your lap as Thea snuggled up to your side, “I'm their mother after all.”

“You're something else,” he came over and scooped Bella into his arms, causing her to giggle happily, “it won't be much longer.”

“I love you!” You called after his retreating back, “so much!”

“Yeah, yeah!”

“Say it back!”

“I love you too, Dulzura,” he stuck his head around the corner before smiling softly at you, “so much.”
