Aston Martin AM3, 1997, by Pininfarina. Designed by Scott A. Barras at Pininfarina Studi e Ricerchi to a commission from the Sultan of Brunei. The unusual AM3 was one of series of Astons made for the Sultan. Pininfarina offered 5 styling options to their client, AM1 to AM5, but only design numbers 3 and 4 were produced. The AM3 was made in a series of 3 cars based on a Vantage chassis with V600 supercharged V8 5.3 litre engines.

'Let's Go Jungle! Lost on the Island of Spice'

"Let's Go Jungle!: Lost on the Island of Spice is a shooting gallery game, in which mutant animals (mainly insects) approach the players from the front and players are required to shoot them with a gun. In points of the game, the player must perform special tasks such as moving the gun in a direction, tapping buttons quickly, or tapping the buttons at the right time. The game features giant animals as enemies. It features mounted turret gun controllers, similar to Sega's previous gun title The Ocean Hunter. Similar to The House of the Dead 4 Special, the games co-op gives a compatibility rating based on how well the two players work together. Enemies include various giant bugs, spiders, piranhas and frogs. The font style of the texts used throughout the game is based on the Thai alphabet." ~Sega Wiki

Happy Birthday Humbug

Released on this day (19.08.2009) fifteen years ago, Humbug is for me a pivotal Arctic Monkeys album. Whatever People Say I Am and Favourite Worst Nightmare, both rely heavily on storytelling, things that have happened in Alex and his peers’ lives. But Humbug is the first time we get a glimpse of Alex’s inner demons. Most of the songs written straight after the recording of The Age of the Understatement, Miles’ influence both sonically and lyrically are evident. Suddenly Alex is using metaphors far more, and he has admitted he can be far more honest by doing this, and this is something he continues to do to this day. Songs like My Propeller and Pretty Visitors dealing with mental lows and stage fright. Fire and the Thud, Potion Approaching, Secret Door, Dance Little Liar and the Jewellers Hands about the duality of Alex’s private life and very public ‘relationship’ with Alexa Chung. Then of course we get fun, throwaway songs like Crying Lightning and Cornerstone, which are in the same vein as Library Pictures, Brick by Brick, You’re so Dark and even Sweet Dreams TN.

I often get the feeling this is Alex’s favourite album ‘Humbug Baby Humbug’ and even during The Car interviews he seemed quite pleased when one interviewer compared it to Humbug. I think because Humbug is the reflections of a young man after the initial shock of fame, and The Car, that same man is reflecting on fifteen years – his whole adult life – in the spotlight.

Though i Love Sarah and 13's dynamic because there is no ~bad guy~ here in this mutual dislike, both of them have reasonably valid reasons for finding the other to be totally obnoxious... Basically, they just don't like each other. And I like that 13's got somebody she's come across that she doesn't like that she also cannot summon some kind of moral superiority over to make her dislike more valid. Sarah may be a bit of a coward, but that's not a Crime. She's not hurt anybody or taken advantage of anybody, she's just a regular person trying to live through her shift at work.

13 comes across a bunch of people that she doesn't like, but for the vast majority of those meetings she's got a good reason for not liking them so you feel kinship with her For the fact that she doesn't like them.

I enjoy that she has to wear her big time lord pants and get over it in this episode Without letting the temper lash out at somebody who is just a human she doesn't particularly like (she's got the daleks to cut her teeth on, anyway).

It's also very ironic that sarah and 13 dislike each other because 13's the doctor and Sarah's a companion metaphor who ends the episode by going travelling with a doctor metaphor. On paper, they should like each other but lolllll no Sarah only likes doctor metaphors and will not accept the real thing.
