This cooler is so handy! I got it for free a year ago, it was dirty and in rough shape and I never got around to cleaning it and repairing it. I was going to put it on the end of my road just like how I found it but then I realized it’s great for bone cleaning stuff. It has a drain plug so I can drain the yucky bone liquids out without having to dump it, and, being a cooler, it’s insulated so it keeps the water warm better than a bucket

I had a REALLY weird dream. It was Rain World, I was playing it.

I was a pale Slugcat with blue eyes, and I had a green rotund pup that couldn’t decide how many food pips he had. Kept switching from three to five.

It was normal, until one cycle, something happened.

To set the scene, everything had a yellow tint to it. Everything. There were little spores floating around in the air, too. A soundtrack started to play called “ The popcorn plants must eat. “. It had lyrics I can’t remember, but it was essentially just the “popcorn plants” wanting to take over Five Pebbles so they can use him as a host to eat.

Everywhere, on every wall, was rot pustules colored like popcorn plants. They had tentacles tipped with blades, and they could see you. Not to mention the mobile Poprot that would run around like toedscool trying to stab and consume you. It was havoc.

Even worse! Is that in the midst of this! On the walls! Were just these?? Vulture grubs that I could only describe as KING vulture grubs.

THEY SHOT FIREBUG EGGS INSTEAD OF HARMLESS LASER BEAMS… AND THEYD JUSt???? crawl around on the walls??? real slowly but if they saw you they’d shoot five firebug eggs at you.

Moon was there, too. Just her puppet. Her body was transparent and said keyboard smash when you talked to her. I don’t blame her.

Then I woke up, and here we are.

I swear I was going to draw other characters today, but then I had the idea for this and couldn’t stop myself xP. Rendering this was fun! I also wanted to try giving Eclipse some pupils, but I’m not sure how I feel about it? I’ll sleep on it. His eyes make me so curious, I wonder if he can look at two things at the same time? XD

I for real can’t get these two out of my head, especially after learning some interesting fun facts about them.

My Animal Studies instructor is a zookeeper, he brought in some skulls for us to study which was pretty neat!

I tried my hand at drawing a baby Australian Fur Seal skull, I only had an office pen on me but I kinda like these?

Also I learned that seals have three-pronged teeth. Bones are so cool man.

U ever think about the fact that the MSM games canonically exist in Spiderverse Miles' universe? Imagine Spiderverse Miles seeing Insomniac Peter and recognizing him as "that Spider-Man from my friend's video game"

it takes about 5 minutes for insomniac peter to go from thrilled over meeting another version of miles to mid-existential-crisis because what do shapes have to do with his fighting style…circle triangle what exactly. now that he thinks about it maybe the world does kind of slow down every time he executes a finishing move but he’d just been chalking that up to adrenaline. and sometimes his life does kind of neatly fit into a three-act story but may used to say that’s more of a circle of life kinda thing than narrative convenience…but is it? things have actually been a little fuzzy since the whole doc ock and sable and maggia thing went down….at least until he and miles were fighting rhino. then he took off for symkaria and huh….they did get kinda fuzzy again. almost like it was narratively unimportant. he also feels this weird, nagging sense of anxiety every time he puts off a major task and it’s almost like the world shoves him in that direction anyway. conveniently timed phone calls. an inner monologue that guilt trips him when he lingers. now he’s hyperventilating in the middle of the lobby and 1610-miles is about to join him in the panic session because somebody just recognized him as the guy from those cool animated movies. peter’s still trying to find his health bar because he feels like he might be dying

I’m glad the appreciation for skulls and other vulture culture aspects are starting to catch more people’s attention, but it sucks because it’s just turned into people bulk buying skulls off dropshipping websites and then reselling them at double the price at an art/craft show. It just feels wrong.

You know why I like this song? Cuz of how accurate it is about vultures! Especially this part:

Some may call us scavengers

THAT’S SO TRUE! Vultures may be misunderstood scavengers, but they’re highly intelligent! Ask people who worked with vultures and you’ll hear them say stuff like “inquisitive”, “can recognize their caretakers and show affection”, “will bond with certain individuals”, “gentle”, stuff like that. Their irl duty as the clean-up crew really helps the ecosystem. Not to mention they’re among the smartest in the Outlands so them ruling the skies isn’t too far off in the show

Devastation strikes. I keep all my dry-preserved bits in a box with a glass lid— paws, wings, birds feet, tails, and one whole mummified bird.

Today, I opened it… and out fluttered one tiny little clothes moth.

It’s all destroyed.

Everything in there was damaged to some extent, chewed through and torn up. The full bird was so special to me… its underside is now almost totally bare. I tried to salvage it with hairspray, it sounds silly but it’s the least obtrusive way I could think of to affix the body feathers back in place— and it worked, sort of, but he’s still damaged. They’re all still damaged. One last little moth crawled out from the bird’s fluff, and I picked it up and took it outside. Now I’m paranoid,, what if there are more? I aggressively cleaned and bug sprayed the boxes, the specimens themselves, and my room in general… but what if there are more? Ghhsgsh woe. How do y’all deal with clothes moths????
