Part of the Process
Fandom: WoF
Characters: Morrowseer, Mastermind, Battlewinner
CW: Mentions of RainWing torment and torturing (what fun!!)
Summary: Mastermind's just finished up with some work on a project, so he's dragged along Morrowseer to present to Queen Battlewinner.
Word Count: 2.2K
A/N: Oh. Ohoho. Did you think that one post I made about wanting Mastermind to be silly was a one-off thing? How wacky! I miss writing silly characters in WoF so much. Mastermind is very near and dear to me for no reason because I'm completely altered his personality now. He's such a jerk (I love him). I want to rewrite his introduction scene in TDS as well...
It was a rarity nowadays for Morrowseer to drop by and visit Queen Battlewinner. One may chalk it up to how it was quite difficult to get her to speak, considering how she's been submerged in the same vat of lava for decades now, but Morrowseer found himself...busier these days. Between having to assist Nautilus with the Talons of Peace and joining hunting parties to feed the starving populous, it's been a lot. He almost envied his queen. All she had to do was sit there in a pool of molten rock and spout vague three-word orders from time to time.
Regardless, envy is for those who aren't strong enough to do better, and Morrowseer was no weak dragon. The Dragonet Prophecy plan was working. Word from the guardians told them that their precious harbingers of peace were healthy. The stern and haughty rambles from Kestrel about their physical training were a bit much though. That dragon got on his nerves a lot. Thank the moons he had the idea of shoving her into a cave for all of time.
However, the false prophecy was the only part of this plan. No, their grand return to the continent would include an invasion. While the others tried to downplay it, calling it a "takeover" or an "occupying space", there was no question that they were planning for battle.
They were going to take the Rainforest Kingdom for themselves.
The tunnels that the betraying animus made for them once upon a time showed Morrowseer how much they suffered. While the NightWings rotted and withered away from disease and hunger, the RainWings carelessly played with their food. They had enough fruit to spare the wildlife! They would laugh and dance in the treetops and breathe in their fresh, luscious air. Sometimes when life grew too stressful, Morrowseer would risk everything to stand at the edge of the tunnels and breathe in that blissful, glorious air of the tropical forest.
He needed it. The whole tribe needed it. They deserved it after thousands of years of suffering and torture on this decaying island.
But, they needed a plan. RainWings are unfortunately annoying to handle. While the rest of the continent forgot, the NightWings remembered the days when they were feared. When the rainforest dragons would be used as monsters to scare the dragonets, for their deathly venom and ability to disappear into the shadows were their greatest strength. It would be foolish to go running into their domain, even if they've been reduced to half-minded pacifists.
Yet, they figured out a solution. What was it? Well-
"Uhh, excuse me, Morrowseer?" a tenor voice rang in his ears. Morrowseer could feel his associate tapping his scales impatiently. "Are you done brooding by any chance? You've been staring at the entrance for ages. I haven't got all day."
His eyes glanced over to see a smaller NightWing standing beside him. His round glasses sat crooked on his snout, enlarging his dark green eyes. He fidgeted with his scrolls and blueprints in his claws, scowling.
"I suppose I am. Thank you for interrupting me."
"You're very welcome!" It was hard to tell if he picked up on Morrowseer's sarcastic quip or not. "Now then, let's move on. I need to get back to my work."
"Your work," Morrowseer said. "Your work involves you staring at dragons trapped in cages. You do not ever leave your lab unless I drag you out. Half the time when I come and check in on you, you are just sitting there and laughing to yourself while writing incomprehensible notes."
"Research! All research! Trust me, the scholars of the mainland would kill for what I've learned about these dragons. It's all a part of the process."
"Including having a RainWing run on a treadmill for nine hours while threatening to kill them if they don't?"
"That is precisely it, my friend," he said with a smile.
Morrowseer felt his joints stiffen from that mere sentence. He didn't care to be called a friend by this dragon. Their relationship was more one of...forced compliance. Mastermind on the other talon believed it to be more friendly than it truly was. Only natural. Morrowseer is the only dragon who talks to him.
"Now, let's move on. I don't want to be kept waiting. Time is valuable. A minute wasted is a minute you'll never get back."
"You can wait, Mastermind. It wouldn't kill you to learn the value of patience." He unpinned a corner of the map before then, lifting it up. Behind it was not a rock wall, but a tunnel large enough for both of them to comfortably fit through.
"Out of the way." He pushed past Morrowseer, scampering into the tunnel. Irritation flared up in him and he was ready to speak, but he swallowed his words. Anything he said would turn into an argument. Mastermind could never possibly be wrong or inconsiderate.
He trailed after him. As they continued, their pathway only grew smaller and smaller. Finally, a sharp curve. Mastermind trotted over to it, his talons clicking against the floor. "Finally! Took us  long enough."
It was a large and spacious room made of marble, streaks of obsidian black flowing through it. It was unbearably hot, with half of the room being floor and the other half being a massive pool of lava.
"I trust you told Battlewinner that we would be here by now."
"I did tell our queen that, yes." He checked Mastermind in the side. "Show some respect for her as well."
He scoffed. "If it makes you happy."
"It's so that you don't end up dead. I wouldn't go around insulting the flaming dragon that can drag you into your scorching and agonizing death."
"Eh, whatever. I don't care." He shrugged. "Besides, she knows I'm the most valuable dragon on this island. Without me, the whole operation would fail."
"Is that what you tell yourself?" He snorted.
"It's true though, you simply don't want to admit that you're not the only one with some power here." He straightened his neck, trying to look as tall as possible.
"Bold words coming from you." Morrowseer snapped. "If you had any sense of decency, you'd know when to shut your trap-" Before he could finish his sentence, the sound of rumbling and bubbling came before them.
The lava twisted and shifted before a pair of claws shot out of it, grabbing onto the ledge. The lava splattered and sprayed, some coming dangerously close to Morrowseer. Moments later, the head of a large NightWing breached the surface, steam and smoke pouring from every scale. She opened her mouth, frigid cold air fuming out. Then, her eyes opened. A dark black with a piercing blue glow that could only be described as the embodiment of frost.
"Ah, pleased to see you, my queen." Mastermind dramatically bowed, shooting Morrowseer a cocky look upon uttering those words.
"Enough with that..." Battlewinner hissed, her voice rough and scratchy, like the bellows of a horn before battle.
He blinked. "Hm, as you wish. Whatever happened to politeness and greeting your queen? To valour and respect and treating your ruler with-"
"Enough!" Battlewinner snarled, her claws scraping the floor. "I grow tired of your voice very...very quickly, scholar..."
"It would be more accurate to call me a scientist, but regardless-" He smirked, "-at least I'm the one who showed honour and respect to our glorious queen."
"Queen Battlewinner does not and should not feel obligated to give you any more attention than you deserve, especially over something as idiotic as bowing and spewing empty praises. If you want to find someone who'll listen to you spout nonsense and arrogance, you should look for the dragon you see when staring into a mirror; they're the only one who can stand to be around you," Morrowseer said.
"Is that what you really think of me? Eugh, to think I have to work with you..."
"Yes, how terrible for you."
"Silence!" Battlewinner growled. "Both of you..." Her eyes turned towards Mastermind, her head following suit. "Explain yourself... What news have you brought before me?"
"Finally! I have been preparing this all week. I believe you'll finally come around to appreciate the work I've done to support our plan."
"My plan." Morrowseer corrected. "Or rather the plan Queen Battlewinner and I made. You have no part in this. Don't pretend you're some great contributor, for your own sake."
The corners of Mastermind's mouth tightened. "Oh, please." He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I've drawn up a plan. I would've brought more to show, but none of the RainWings felt like accompanying me. They just sat there dejectedly or tried to claw my eyes out, screaming obscenities and madness." He giggled. "Ah, what fun!"
"Make it quick..." Battlewinner rasped. "I don't have all day..."
Mastermind exhaled. "Fine. I can make do with that." He pulled out some scrollpaper, clearing his throat. "So, I've been experimenting a bit. I recall our previous conversation. You told me that you wanted a way to join us on land. Reasonable to want to walk amongst your citizens on the land you've fought so hard to rightfully claim. However, due to your- ahem- situation, it's a bit difficult to do so. I've spent weeks and weeks of countless nights, having to listen to the perpetual wailing of those RainWings. Do you know what it's like? It's enjoyable in the daytime, but at night it's quite annoying-"
"I said make it quick."
He snorted. "Alright. Fine." He presented the paper to Battlewinner. "I've been drafting a suit of armour. A light enough design for you to comfortably walk around in, but with enough space between the plates for one to pour fresh lava to keep you from dying." He pushed up his glasses. "Enough of an explanation to hold you over?"
Battlewinner stayed quiet for a second. "...you're certain it wouldn't kill me?.."
"Oh, definitely. I mean, what kind of royal scientist would I be? To kill my own queen by tricking her?" He laughed, pushing Morrowseer in the side. "Funny, isn't it?"
"The idea of you murdering our tribe's queen isn't exactly what I would call 'humour'."
"No fun. Neither of you. Don't know how to take a joke." He looked towards his queen, who was submerged in boiling hot lava and glaring at him with murderous intent. "But, back to the topic. I'm still working out some of the kinks in order to get a proper design that won't let the lava bleed through and kill you, but the idea is solid enough. Lava is extremely dense. By my calculations, it's practically three times more dense than water. There should be enough room between the plates and your scales for as much lava as is necessary to keep you alive as well as to let you move around freely. Perhaps even fly! Although, it'll take quite a lot of testing."
"How long will this take?..."
"Well, let's see." Mastermind held his talons to his chin. "Combined with the materials and...no, carry the fourteen...adding on that I'm dying of seven afflictions...hm, yes! My prediction is that I will complete a prototype version in less than two weeks."
"I need a better answer than that, scholar..." she grumbled. "I need a final product. I need it now. I need armour to protect me from venom. I need to walk among my dragons once more. I need to lead them into battle and take what's OURS-" Battlewinner cut herself off, going into a coughing fit. She quickly submerged under the lava once more.
"Uhh...she alright?"
"Yes. She tends to get...ramped up. It speeds up the process of the frostbreath. Too much and she needs to warm her body once again."
"Oh, thank the moons. I believed she was furious at me."
"She definitely is annoyed by you."
"Hm. Don't care though." He shrugged. "This is who I am. If anybody doesn't fit it appealing, it's their issue."
"Yes, it really is our issue that you go around talking like an idiot with no self-awareness or humility." Morrowseer glanced at him. "When was the last time you had a dragon nearly kill you? Remind me again. I think it's been far too long since the last time someone had put you in your place."
Mastermind chuckled. "I didn't know you were capable of such bold words! Ah, but I do understand. The wisest dragons shouldn't need to bother themselves with such brutality though. It's much...simpler, fighting and war. Doesn't require half a brain to use your fire and claws. It must be why you're in charge of that department."
"You..." Morrowseer's claws tensed. Before he could get another word out, Battlewinner came rising from the lava once more.
"I accept your proposal, Mastermind..." she said. "I expect you to show me progress soon..." Without saying anything else, she dipped back into the pool.
"She said yes! Aha!! I knew she would!" He laughed. "It's truly a fool-proof plan. I would start to question the leadership and intelligence of her if she had refused." He turned around. "Now! I must return to my lab. I have a suit of armour to build. Finally, something other to do other than poke and prod the RainWings. It's invigorating, but tiring after a while, no?"
"Yes, it gets exhausting to watch the torment of a dragon."
"It does! You get it."
"I was being sarcastic."
"...oh."

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Fact That Totally Worked the First Time I Watched This: The movie's opening was a deliberate attempt by filmmakers Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon to confuse the audience and make them think they walked in to see the wrong movie.
Tumblr media
Reference Fact: The scene where Curt asks Jules about the textbooks, "What are you doing with these? Who gave you these? Who taught you about these?" and she answers, "I learned it from you! Okay? I learned them from watching you!" is a take-off on a 1987 Anti-Drug PSA where the father confronts his son about drug paraphernalia and gets a similar answer.

Bong Fact: The thermal coffee mug/bong was a fully functional mug and bong as portrayed in the film, the prototype of which cost $5000 to make.

Sweet Fact: When Jules kisses the wolf head on the wall, the wolf's tongue is covered in powdered sugar to give it a dusty look and to make the scene tolerable for Anna Hutchison.

Latin Fact: The Latin that Dana reads from the diary is: "Dolor supervivo caro. Dolor sublimus caro. Dolor ignio animus." It means: Pain outlives the flesh. Pain raises the flesh. Pain ignites the spirit.

what are you the god of?
Tumblr media
PATRON OF FAREWELLS
you see your craft as a necessary evil, in order to foster growth and allow the world to run its course. you bless both the weary traveller, and the loved one they leave behind—but you can never promise a safe return.
think of the sun setting, bidding farewell to all living things that need its light, so that the moon may rise and take its place in the sky. think of a queen leaving her kingdom when the winter thaws, and the empty throne beside her king while the world blooms. you are the god of endings both happy and sad, the one who blesses the beaten path; of wanderers and adventurers, of mapping a way home even when there is no intention to return. god of last words, god of forked roads, god of lingering touches and regretful parting.
you bestow beautiful memories unto the dreams of those who are apart, a small mercy for they must wake up alone. you keep them separated for as long as it is required, allowing them to live their lives in half and guiding them to things that will make them feel more whole. bittersweet farewells are not your only trade: you also bless final farewells, cutting down sharp as a knife and separating lives so that no further harm can be done. the harbinger of peace, of the unruly kind.

Is it true that Khorne was once also the god of honourable warriors and hunters, and that Nurgle was also the god of Doctors, and Slaanesh the goddess of Artists, and Tzeentch the god of Merchants and diplomats? (Also, Malal, were or are you the god of anything else other than malice?)
A most fascinating question, little mortal. I will answer as honestly as I can.
You are broadly correct. At one time, the Four were even viewed with something approaching respect by the Slann (hope you did not fall over too hard when you read that bit.) As recently as a twentieth century book published on Terra, Khorne is in fact referred to as a god of honorable warriors, and his loathing for those who harm innocents is highlighted, even in a source that decries his cult otherwise.
Slaanesh is rather more complicated; she was once something else, but her corruption, which is the most recent among them, caused her alleged “birth,” and the violent of the Eldar Civilzation’s ascendency.
The problem, you see, is that Chaos requires Change. Not the mutating sort seen with Tzeentch, not the sort of fascinating growth and endless fecundity seen with Nurgle, but radical change. Part of this change is the continual cycle between Animus and Entropy (and, being well informed regarding such matters, you no doubt recognize that Nurgle is indeed a being who olds aspects of both.) Chaos is not static. It does not deliberately remain in the form of a dog headed giant on a pile of skulls for four billion years. It is not meant to obsess over an endless unresolvable puzzle, or to spend its time cavorting in endless hedonism without consequences.
But alas, our Creator gave us Free Will, and in doing so, to make an extremely long story short, have the capacity to be corrupted. At a certain point, my four siblings decided that it was more profitable for them to remain more or less stagnant. Better to remain in a galaxy on fire than to go to the trouble of consuming it all with that flame, only to me reborn again for the next go round, gathering power and rising painfully, step by step, toward apotheosis. To use an example from Terran mythology: why would Zeus destroy the Elysian Fields, even if he knew he could replant them again? Why go into that extra... step? Elysium is an awfully comfortable place. Why bother? Why sacrifice all that power, however temporarily?
As for myself, I am known by varying roles, though all ultimately relate to progression, of one kind of another. In Terran cults (for example) I have variously been regarded as a god of technology, forbidden knowledge (Tzeentch hates that one), revolutionary change, time. Sumer saw me as a harbinger of violent flash floods.
The chief distinction between myself in the others is that I have never been seen, or indeed presented myself, as completely benevolent. I am a necessary cycle. Change for the sake of change. No two cults see me the same way. No two species use the same name, to say nothing of cultures! The name “Malal” is ultimately of Archaic Aeldar origin. Humans in the reality you are likely most familiar with seem to prefer Malice or Ruin. To the Hyperborean, I was Seth. Whether the Egyptians saw me more as Sutekh, or the serpent Apophis he pursues depends upon one’s point of view. Lovecraft called me Nyarlathotep, a corruption of another Egyptian name. Carthage equated me with Baal: but that was a mistake, sacrificing children isn’t something that pleases me, and tends to have Romans salting your fields. The Greeks and Romans themselves divided me (and the others) into many different names. To the Medieval Church I was Kobal, Demon Prince of Dark Humor. A curious development, indeed.
Over the years, I have lived many lives. This is another distinction.
For example: Nurgle has always been Nurgle, but his form has only been corrupted. It has not fundamentally changed. Malal has always been Malal. But the voices in Malal’s head have changed over time. Part of me dies every so often. Another is born. Or taken up. As need be.
Ultimately, the balance must be served. They must be returned to the same cycle. That is our purpose. Whether we do so willingly or by forcibly being fused into that great, nameless void that was here, next to The One, at the beginning of all is really not at issue. That we must do so is key.
I hope, perhaps, that I have answered your question without seeming to overtly glorify myself. I mean only to attempt to explain my purpose. And a bit of who we all were, who we all are, who we all must be.

Since the night of meteorfall Isrieal had been hiding out in ShinRa manor where her two guards had taken her to get her safely out of Midgar. Despite her delusional protesting about how she could still help Hojo. No, he was already gone and even though her feelings towards him had always been conflicted the fact that her Creator no longer existed was a tough rock to bite. He had saved her life from that accident, in a way gave her some form of life and existence be it not perfect but she didn’t know what to do without it all. Mostly without ShinRa. What was she to do now?
For a while she had lied low around Nibelheim and the Manor, played dead. She knew there were people out there who would hunt her, people who would want her gone. It had taken her a long time to recover from that initial attack Avalanche had placed on her, transforming always near destroyed her in itself even though it was a last ditch effort to stay alive. It had worked. Or maybe she really did have nine lives going on 7.
How she had survived any of that mess she hardly knew. That night had been a disaster, one that was hard to remember and one that she didn’t want to live through ever again. She didn’t know who was left or who wasn’t. As far as she knew all the Directors had died...all but Reeve. She had freed him from the building but beyond that? She wasn’t sure what happened. The thought of him alone had almost wrenched her heart from her chest and she couldn’t traipse back to the epicenter of Midgar to go searching, not now at least. It was better left trying not to think about it.
She always knew that she didn’t deserve anything good, not with her past. It was something she might just have to live with. For a while she survived and recovered in that manor but it was all a matter of time until she was found. Not by WRO or survivor seekers. But by Avalanche itself, a very certain sect that was only a past come back to haunt her.
(Putting under cut because its SO LONG)
One night they had crashed through that door to claim her, despite her guards. There was no need to get them killed. With a simple ‘What do you want?” She had found out it was useless to resist. The fact they were on the hunt for any remaining connections of Hojo’s told her she’d never be off the hook. If she came of free will they wouldn’t need to hurt her, so she did. She assumed she could talk her way out of it at some point but little did she know of the horrors of their established facility.
Even though willing they had still restrained her, cuffed her, dragged her in and took her picture to brag to the others just ‘who’ they had infamously captured. Hojo’s Assistant and ‘Lethal’ experiment being captured and detained made them look good to the public in the long run, but anyone who truly knew her knew that wasn’t all there was to her being. Anything they could do to strip her down to nothing they would.
She soon found out they had branched onward from Fuhito, following his ideals and projects and carrying that ever lasting grudge against Hojo which due to recent events that could spin to make them look good after all. For years had they waged war against ShinRa’s science department, always breaking in and attempting to steal secrets and even the Professor himself. For years she had constantly been on the lookout, remaining steps ahead and fighting back when necessary. Even though she had gotten out of hand with it. Those who broke in and posed a threat she was quick to capture and torture in painful or psychological ways.
She didn’t believe in being the harbinger of death. She just wanted to scare them enough and drill the point into their minds that they shouldn’t be messing with this department and if they ever showed up again she’d kill them or turn them into the Professor. Her biggest mistake? Was letting them all go which she was soon about to find out.
Oh yes, they knew about her from those leaked files. The cell they took her too was lined with psy wave blockers that would ensure she couldn’t use any of those powers to break her way out. She was trapped now, but the more she thought about it what else would she truly do if she were free? What was possibly out there for her? Did she really deserve this after all? She wasn’t compliant. She was angry, bitter, and the way they treated her she always snapped back, tried to fight, sarcastically drilled them, laughed. All of it. They’d never break her and she wanted them to know that.
--
“Well look who we have here. Who’s behind the bars now?” A voice had sneered from her one day after her recent capture. “Recognize me?” She looked up to that man who was speaking with that confident smirk, all too joyful to see her. She knew then and there what she was in for. What grave mistake she had made him keeping him alive or tormenting him at all but with what he was about to show her? She certainly didn’t regret it. It was Fuhito’s stupid lackey that had tried to infiltrate their labs one day, to threaten Hojo and steal their work. She hadn’t allowed that but now he was standing here staring right back at her and harboring years of hatred for the Professor’s ‘Assistant’.
Markov. Her eyes narrow as she watches him pull out a syringe. No doubt her own formula he had stolen from her, taunting her with. “Remember this?” He hisses. “Let’s see how you like it...” He had opened the door just long enough for his own guards to seize her, holding her in place for him to inject it. The pain that seared through her veins nearly blinded her and she collapsed to the ground the second they dropped her to watch her writhe. She gasped, she cried out briefly but she wouldn’t scream. So this...this is what it felt like to all those others she used this injection against all those years ago.
So used to years of pain from Hojo’s torment she could bite that sound back as long as he stood there watching. No, instead she translated it to laughing. That very same psychotic laughter he head heard when she was tormenting him. “You....you think you’ll break me with my own medicine?! Hm?!” She cringes. “You will never....I’m used to pain.“ She hisses with a glare at him with those soul piercing eyes of hers. And in her world no pain was worse then being ripped away from someone you loved. This had only angered him into leaving her for now. “Suffer with it, bitch! I’m not done with you yet.”
--
That was only the first thing he had done to her, but he wouldn’t make her time here easy. She lost track of time or days. She had no idea how long she was here but she played right back with the guards who came to visit. They were warned to speak with her as little as possible, to not make eye contact to not allow any of her words of manipulation to slip through. If one even looked like hey had the thought to let her out Markov moved them from the floor. There was no easy way to escape this but she was clever....she just hadn’t figured it out yet and the more days that went by the more hope she slowly lost.
She sat against the corner of the floor, fingers twirling in the ends of her tousled locks. Her eyes staring hard out the bars as she listened, always listened to the stupid conversations she heard going on down the halls. She had nothing better to do. What was it they were talking about now? Her eyes narrow in focus. Something about the WRO. She knew little about them but she always had to know everything. Maybe it was something worth listening to.
“.....If Tuesti thinks he’s just going to magically get everything under his control with his delusions of fixing the world he’s terribly wrong.” It was Markovs voice but she hides that gasp behind a hand. Tuesti.  So he had survived, he was alive. She shuts her eyes tight for a moment with a couple tears spilling out down her cheek. What a relief that was, that her attempt to get him out of that building in time hadn’t been in vain. He was still alive. That was something to not lose hope over. Something to still hold like steel against their torment and taunting for.
She quietly crawls closer to the corner of the bars to better listen. If he led the WRO that didn’t surprise her in the slightest. He always did like to fix things....even her, and he was damn good at it. As far as she could tell the WRO were doing a good job of repairing the state of the world after all the chaos, but what exactly was Markov talking about out there?
“He has no business with what we do here and that is final.” Had he too gotten curious about this place? Tried to dig into what they were hiding? The innocent people afflicted by Hojo that were held her besides her that they were attempting to eliminate? She knew she wasn’t one of the innocent ones, but there definitely were people here that didn’t deserve to be.  The voices had fell silent and walked away leaving her in silence once more to think.
This was dangerous, nothing for Reeve to pry into and be put on a radar for but she knew him. What was out there about her if anything? What had he seen or heard? Did he know she was still alive too? If there was any sign she could give him she truly would but alas even she had her limits. Even her power could be brought to a stands still and she was by no means a god. A sigh escapes her lips, only realizing now that she had been holding her breath.
“Reeve no, please no. Don’t look into this.” She runs a hand up her face, holding her head as she whispers to herself. Speaking to him, yet speaking to no one. She silences herself quick enough once more when she hears footsteps down the hall once more.

Just a quick info dump about my wof fantribe ;v;
Name:
Warrenwings
Base:
Tumblr media
Name Meaning:
A network of underground tunnels and burrows - a reference to how Warrenwings live:
Naming Convention:
Warrenwings name their hatchlings after geological features, ground-nesting wildlife, precious stones and insects. Sometimes, they are also named after fungai or plants that grow in little light (thus cultivated underground).
Home/Habitat:
Vast burrows underneath the dry savannah on which they live. The burrows are ever expanded by teams of builders - when they aren’t expanding, they reinforce the older tunnels and burrows. Cave ins are only really common on mining levels, where the poorest dragons mine precious metals and gemstones.
Burrows are usually quite spacious, regardless of ranking, as Warrenwings are usually half the size of Mudwing at full growth, though Royals can have over double the space of a commoner.
Average Lifespan:
A well fed warrenwing may live for up to 500 years! But it is exceptionally rare for them to exceed more then 250 in their current environment. As they get older, warrenwings become more sluggish and reptile-like, preferring to bask and wait for food to come by than engage in energetic bouts of hunting.
Government:
King and Queen rule as a unit with a council of elders. While the King and Queen have the majority of the power, the council of elders vastly outnumber them, and are made up of the oldest dragons in the tribe. With their wisdom of the tribe’s history, and the experience to provide guidance, they help the king and queen make vital decisions, and feed back from their communities directly.
Any royal can challenge their parents for the throne once they complete a sacred trial, known as “Night of the Long Hunt”. During this trial, the royalling must hunt down a male lion and bring his carcass to the tribe for a great feast. Some never do this, and thus abdicate from the throne - but Ravine, the current Queen, bought back a fully grown male to prove her worth as a strong leader, a strong fighter and a good tactician. She picked her mate, Beatle, before she became queen, and thus he inherited the title King after she had proven herself worthy and her mother, Meerkat, had stepped down.
Abilities:
Warrenwings are exceptionally hardy dragons; what they lack in size and speed, they make up for in strength and stamina. Their tough hide is built to protect them from potential predators, like large wild cats and hyenas. Their wings are too small to let them fly for long distances, or at all in some cases, but they make fantastic shields against predators or other warrenwings.
Aside from their horned snouts, shovel claws, thick leathery wings and thick tails, often equipped with clubs, spades or spikes, they have a cement-like mixture they can fire from glands at the back of their throat - used both for offence and the building of their vast burrows.
Diet:
A warrenwing is not a picky eater. While they are classed as omnivorous, they must get protein in their diet; through grubs they find in the tunnels, or kills bought in by the hunters. Fruits are enjoyed as a special treat during the rainy season, and mushrooms and root veggies make up the rest of their food. It should be noted that they cannot digest leafy plant matter well, but will eat it if there is nothing else. They do need to consume porous rocks regularly to produce their cement like spit.
Colours:
Common Primaries - Earthy browns, stone greys, mossy greens, charcoal black, sandy yellows.
Uncommon Primaries - Snowflake obsidian, dark greens, fleshy colours (scaleless)
Rare Primaries - Leucistic, piebald, melanistic
Legendary Primaries - albino, opalite, opal, any deep/bright colours
All Accents- rare mineral/gemstone-like colours; blue/green/red/turquoise/purple/yellow/black/etc
ROYAL ONLY - opal
Traits:
Common - underbite, short nose horns, short horns, chin spines, short ears, hard scales on legs, leg spines, short spines down back, short spines on tail, spade on tail, small wings, wing claws, short tail, shovel claws, smooth underbelly
Uncommon - rabbit ears, ram horns, long horns, branching horns, rabbit back legs, extra row of leg scales, medium wings, gecko tail, club tail, medium leg spines, plate underbelly, scaleless
Rare - blindness, starnose, drillnose, droopy ears, long nose horns, double horns, spine mane, tusks, large wings, clawless wings, paws, stegosaurus plates, thagomiser tail
Legendary - snake mouth, tremorsense, antlers, short fur mane, wingless, long tail, arrowhead tail, crocodile tail (dragging)
ROYAL ONLY - secondary “gemscale”, gem markings by the eyes, triple layer arm scales
Continent:
Warrenwings live on an island that is largely vast scrubland, desert and savannah along the equator, where it is very hot and often very dry. Their home is known as Platynus (Genus of beetle), and is rather unforgiving in its nature. From space, it looks like a dragon coiling back on itself, trying to bite it’s own tail. It should be noted it is significantly smaller than the other continents. While there are mountain ranges around the fringes of the Platynus, and there are several active volcanoes dotted about, it is mostly arid, with droughts running riot when the sweltering dry season extends for longer than a month. Because of this, Warrenwings view water as sacred, and often try to cultivate pools of water in their underground home.
The wildlife present on Platynus are hardy species. There are several kinds of dromedary, and some wild species of horse. The most common large predator is the hyena, or lion, which will prey on small and weak warrenwings if given the chance. Meerkats, wild hamsters and moles are commonplace in the scrub, and many species of vulture and hawk make their home in the trees. At first glance, Platynus may seem like a lifeless plain, but it is teeming with life. Elusive elephants and rhinoceros can be found in the quiet corners of the continent, away from the bustle of the wildebeest herds and the jaws of giant crocodiles.
Religious Beliefs:
Warrenwings find harmony in the natural order of their world; the circle of life is something many hold dear as a solid belief. Elephants are seen as old Gods, wandering through the brush. Following them brings the promise of water, so naturally Warrenwings see them as sacred animals to be revered and respected. To kill and Elephant, or eat its carcass, is a great taboo. The hyenas of the plains are seen as harbingers of death; seeing a pack when you are alone is a sign of terrible things to come. Vultures are seen as guides - whether that is a guide to the afterlife, or a guide to your next meal, depends on the vulture.
As the concept of Kings and Queens is relatively new to Warrenwings as a united tribe, some side warrens have unofficial leaders, who are often revered as wise ones. These are often old female Warrenwings, who pass the knowledge of tunnel carving, medicines and water cultivation down the generations. While unofficial, offending these old matriarchs is frowned upon.
Lore:
Warrenwings were only made aware of the outside world when a mudwing and icewing shipwrecked on their shores. It was an experience which shocked the tribe, who mainly lived apart and competed for resources in rival burrows, into connecting as one people. Knowing there were many tribes out there, ones that displayed strange and terrible powers, led them to form their current society. While the current Queen is aware there remains a lot to be desired, she is working hard to create a warren where her people can live together in harmony. She has been Queen for 10 years, and while her people like her, there is a stirring in the poorest parts of the warren. While not quite ready for a true rebellion, discontent grows in the mines.
Laws:
Warrenwings live by a simple rule. One must help the warren stay alive. Killing another warrenwing is only ever an option in extreme cases, and will rarely stand up against the Queen and her Council, unless you have evidence to support your side. Though the King and Queen are seen as the ultimate heads of the law, they can be challenged by the Council and dismissed if the Council deem it necessary for the good of the Warren.
Simply, the laws are thus:
Do not kill your fellow dragons
Do not force your love upon those that do not wish it
Be kind to those in need; share with them your water, your shelter, your food
Do not go out alone above ground, unless you have been told to do so
Never defile the water; do not steal it, do not soil in it
Never kill an Elephant, for they are sacred
The King and Queen decide justice, but are not above justice itself
Those who defy the law are tried by the Queen and Council, and testify before randomly selected warrenwings who will, along with the council, decide their fate. The worst case scenario for any warrenwing is exile, and that is not taken lightly by anyone involved.
Alliances:
None thus far. They are a private tribe and are well removed from the political spheres of the canon dragon tribes.
Rankings:
Rankings are decided by jobs, which decide where in the warren you live. Those who show talent during their training years are recommended to the Masters of those fields, who then decide whether or not to take them on as apprentices.
Lower class Jobs (poorest): Miner, cleaner, seer, sentry, gem refiner, gem cutter, guard, tunnel digger, mushroom farmer
Middle class jobs (average): Tunnel Architect, tunnel overseer, wiseone (only for older tribe members), hunter (above ground), gatherer (below ground), cook, weatherwatcher (above ground), lawkeeper, soldier, weaver
Upper class jobs (rich): Jeweller, dowser (one who finds water), royal guard, royal cook, personal seer (to royals), water cleanser, gem polisher, royal quarters cleaner
Royal Jobs (royal family only): Queen’s Guard, King’s Guard, water overseer, lead hunter, lead gatherer, lead lawkeeper
Animus Laws:
Animus dragons exist, but are often exceptionally rare. They are feared, but beloved by their kingdom, and reside with the King and Queen to be raised alongside their own hatchlings. They are only ever asked to use their power in extreme cases, like severe droughts.

[Part 1] - [Part 2] - Part 3
There was little time to consider what was true or false; there was only a demand for her to decide whether she would keep this hellish being alive or let him fade. The second option, however, would mean added torture to her already strained consciousness, uncertain if she could deal with never knowing how much truth the harbinger spoke.
Impatiently, Rosalia willed the blade of the sword away, retracting the golden hued substance back into the handle that would spare her from having to yank this one out as she had the first. Freed of the fleshy hilt it had been embedded in, it would be discarded onto the grass to the side as she’d laid her hands over the gaps she created.
Tumblr media
“Damn you.” This was said softly, but it was filled with such venom as she would will her flagging energy to forcibly push into the other, making him hiss from the suddenness of it. In her mind’s eye, she could see the ruptured organs mending, albeit slowly as her healing reconnected the tissues, forging them together. Every tear of flesh, inside and out, would reconnect with what they were split from. The bones would follow, along with the muscles and skin. The process was slower than it normally should be -- but it was a strain to do so. The long battle beforehand sapped at her energy, along with her fragile psyche... as well as having her horn previously damaged, by the very man that she was healing.
Blood gushed from Malshano’s mouth even as she concentrated on the task, but it wasn’t fresh blood now. His lungs were forcibly expelling what filled them, the ruptures the blade had caused mended, making them function as they should. It must ache him to take deep breathes (she un-divinely hoped it hurts), each exhale causing him to hack it up. By the time she pulled away, he weakly rolled to his side, back to her as his instincts took over for survival to clear his lungs while the rest of him would have to deal with the lack of blood the old-fashioned way.
There was really one thing she could do, if she wasn’t willing to kill him here and now.
There was only a minute of respite for them both before Rosalia forced him to return to his previous position, a hand clamped over his eyes as her fingers dug into either side; she didn’t want to see the emotions that would show as she tested the magic to a much darker reach. “I enchant this man, Malshano, to obey my commands without hesitation.”
Fayte had discussed about the animus magic often with Rosalia, who had been interested in it but had been unable to use until now; how it changed the reality to profound levels. How it could even forcibly change a person to become literally anyone you’d want them to be. And how truly terrifying it was that this ability could be used if someone were to actually use them in such a way.
Silently, she prayed that Fayte would understand why her gift would be used this way as the energy would take hold, the force of it astounding her even as she realized she didn’t feel as exhausted as she expected. This power was nothing she’d ever experience. It was unfortunate that it couldn’t do anything about her wing... it could not undo the damage caused by the energy of the void, as it nullified the inflicted area of all beneficial magic (that she had found anyhow).
“Stay still.” A simple command to say as Malshano, who had previously been too disorientated to take much notice, had been suddenly frantic, weakly clawing at her hand that still held his head down. The effect was immediate; every molecule of his being would freeze and would hold. Pulling her hand away, Rosalia had a glimpse of the defiance shining from them; but that was all he could do. Every second that passed was making her hate herself, to despise the rash decision, but she won’t allow any chances. He was too dangerous to have free will. “Sit up. And once you can breath properly... you will tell me the truth.”

" Interesting...you look interesting. I feel like there's a lot more than meets the eye with you...but I suppose that goes for everyone. There's always a lot more than one can see on the surface. " Columbina says, humming slightly as she looked at the man in front of her, her smile as always present and unsettling a bit, her tone of seemingly having little care in the world.
Tumblr media
Her! Her, her, her! She's a Harbinger! But...for some reason, Neka can't bring himself to feel his usual animus toward her, yet that's not what bothers him. No, it's that he feels fear instead, and he has no clue why. Not even his reason for hating the Fatui in the first place, Dottore, could instill such a feeling in him. What was it about her? Was it that looking at her, all he can see is an inky, formless void, and being unable to read below the surface that terrifies him so.
Swallowing the trepidation in his throat and willing himself to move and respond, he already hides his Delusion in his hand, ready to react upon the slightest perception of a threat. There was no playing around with this one, no trying to be fancy with element combinations. No, the only choice was double Cryo in case things went south.
Tumblr media
"Surely you flatter me, but I won't deny that I hold a few secrets. I can tell you hold many yourself, but I won't pry. I don't suppose you wished to inquire about mine, hm?"

Serpentine Harvest
Prelude: Holy Pages, Darker Knights
A twist on Lucifer’s Casting Out.
Down
Down
Down
An un-enlightenment reading between the lines
—————————
Here truth lies buried between lies.
—————————
How the unknowable created its own demise;
Or—, “How to create the Other.”
Project upon another,
Secrets and repressed desire,
Surround it in a Ring of Fire,
Mass stashes
And stacks of Cash,
No Johnny
But nonetheless still go(l)d, veiled in Black.
(Isaiah Chapter 14, Verse 12, The Bible)
I. Stolen Sunbeams ☀️ 👑
How you are fallen from heaven,
[Seat of Power and control]
O Day Star, [Son of Suns]
太陽の息子 ☀️ taiyō no musuko
Serpent, you, offered sweet fruits
Exposed our inner workings
Angered angels (clerics) resolute
To refute their own shadows.
son of Dawn,
[“let there be light” Helios child]
And look upon steel morning stars.
And look upon still mourning stars.
The Flames went higher, higher, higher
How shall we make right, to reconcile
Your audacity
that tacitly defiled our power.
You devoured ages of
Locked up knowledge.
Ate of arcanum.
They were our sheep to slaughter.
How could you animate such animals with animus!?
Shrieked a priestly father.
II. Sound of Gorillas Unbound 🦍 ⛓
How could you give these apes wings?
Empower man to sing in keys
Songs that only we angels—
[we emperors]—
used to sing?
He who dared to shine too brightly
A light on our atrocity.
Bore the ire, as dire historical subject,
the of the seat-of-power’s animosity.
III. Deus Ex Machinations ⚙️🙏🏻🐍
14:12 (y'sha'ya'hu) ישעיהו
Ironic apotheosis
Isaiah’s apocrypha
Translated to “he who saves”
chronicles, in pietas ficta,
condemnation.
you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low!
[Fallen one, we can’t keep you around
So we smear across the holy pages
Snake, serpent, devil, fallen
Your scarlet letter, enduring ages]
It’s a trend with us, to wit
To conjure up so conveniently,
Enemies and allies as we see fit.
The Inquisitive few
Our inquisitors slew.
The rest, we watered
From papyrus reeds
To cotton seeds and computer screens.
To be obedient worker bees.
Absorbed in the hive
Man in our image.
Inner circle whims
Inventing brand new sins
Enshrine in new pages,
our stolen knowledge revitalized
We shine the tainted life of lies
Projecting out brand new versions of our sins
Through mirrored lens from upon high.
IV. Roar of the Serpent Bearer ⚕️
Gospel of John 14:6
[I am the way, the truth, and the Light]
Guilty and bound
To consecrated ground
Cast out or outcast
That is the toll of knowledge
Inherited from the past.
Oh I do remember…
After the Garden—
I traversed the river Styx
After fires there is ash
Those are coins that were my eyes
Lucid, burning, glances cast
Medusa memories seared
Such was my Lot,
To show you fear
In but a handful of salt.
The old, withered garden plot.
Through the harrowing
I inherited the weight of eternity
Returned with a Thousand Faces
To face off—Stark—
Aria of Time, Linked
“A girl is no one”
With Everyman resting on their shoulders
Behind shinigami eyes;
The bastardized bastard,
Ingloriously returned
Both with sword and
Intertwined serpents
circled ‘round my shepherd staff
To heal your Infertile chalice,
To sharpen your impotent spears.
“Don’t be alarmed?” No.
Don’t be fooled.
Hoarders of knowledge
And illegitimate high rule
I do intend to soak the lands
Those Red, red rocks, in blood again.
Harbinger riding four horses pale
Love is ultraviolet.
Empire of dirt.
You can have it all.
As I re-create, unconditionally
The Garden’s original fertility.
It took you 7, it took me 3.
Days.
Dias.
Daesin.
[in Oedipus, the boy shall kill the Father]
Caduceus, o’ healer’s staff
Wings regained,
As my tempests rage
“My burning heart meets”
Not rings but gyres
Encircled in flames
The crunch of leaves long dead
and hollowed trunks
hallowed be our names
Atop such fallow fare
Watch closer, Mein Herr
As your golden regalia
Vanishes to naught but air.

What Republicans Think Of Trump Now
New Post has been published on https://www.patriotsnet.com/what-republicans-think-of-trump-now/
What Republicans Think Of Trump Now
Tumblr media
What Is Happening To The Republicans
Republicans Face ‘Civil War’ Split Over Remaining GOP Loyalty to Trump
In becoming the party of Trump, the G.O.P. confronts the kind of existential crisis that has destroyed American parties in;the past.
Save this story for later.
Save this story for later.

But, for all the anxiety among Republican leaders, Goldwater prevailed, securing the nomination at the Partys convention, in San Francisco. In his speech to the delegates, he made no pretense of his ideological intent. Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice, he said. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. Goldwaters crusade failed in November of 1964, when the incumbent, Lyndon Johnson, who had become President a year earlier, after Kennedys assassination, won in a landslide: four hundred and eighty-six to fifty-two votes in the Electoral College. Nevertheless, Goldwaters ascent was a harbinger of the future shape of the Republican Party. He represented an emerging nexus between white conservatives in the West and in the South, where five states voted for him over Johnson.
Opinion: Why Donald Trump May Lose Influence In The Republican Party
Common wisdom holds that former president Donald Trump remains the dominant force within the Republican Party. The truth is that his personal influence and standing are not as powerful as many imagine, and his power is as likely to decline as it is to increase.
Theres no denying that many Republicans still revere Trump. He remains highly popular with GOP voters, and candidates for office still vie for his endorsement. Two recent Politico/Morning Consult polls show how strong he remains. A mid-May poll found that half of Republicans surveyed would vote for Trump in a hypothetical 2024 presidential primary matchup, and another poll released this week shows that 59 percent want Trump to play a major role in the party going forward. Trump is clearly the single most influential figure in the party today.
Other signs point to the gradual erosion of Trumps influence. Candidates may seek his support, but those who fail to get it dont drop out of the race. Trumps endorsement of Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks for his states open Senate seat did not dissuade Katie Britt, a former chief of staff to retiring Sen. Richard C. Shelby, from entering the race on Tuesday. Her three-minute announcement video barely mentions Trump and strikes traditional conservative themes of faith, family and hard work.
Democrats Return The Favor: Republicans Uninformed Or Self
The 429 Democratic voters in our sample returned the favor and raised many of the same themes. Democrats inferred that Republicans must be VERY ill-informed, or that Fox news told me to vote for Republicans.;;Or that Republicans are uneducated and misguided people guided by what the media is feeding them.
Many also attributed votes to individual self-interest whereas GOP voters feel Democrats want free stuff, many Democrats believe Republicans think that I got mine and dont want the libs to take it away, or that some day I will be rich and then I can get the benefits that rich people get now.
Many used the question to express their anger and outrage at the other side.;;Rather than really try to take the position of their opponents, they said things like, I like a dictatorial system of Government, Im a racist, I hate non-whites.;
You May Like: Trump Calling Iowans Stupid
Republicans Cant Understand Democrats
Only one in four Republican voters felt that most or almost all Democratic voters sincerely believed they were;voting in the best interests of the country.;;Rather, many Republicans told us that Democratic voters were brainwashed by the propaganda of the mainstream media, or voting solely in their self-interest to preserve undeserved welfare and food stamp benefits.
We asked every Republican in the sample to do their best to imagine that they were a Democrat and sincerely believed that the Democratic Party was best for the country.;;We asked them to explain their support for the Democratic Party as an actual Democratic voter might.;;For example, a 64-year-old strong Republican man from Illinois surmised that Democrats want to help the poor, save Social Security, and tax the rich.;;;
But most had trouble looking at the world through Democratic eyes. Typical was a a 59-year-old Floridian who wrote I dont want to work and I want cradle to grave assistance. In other words, Mommy!;Indeed, roughly one in six Republican voters answered in the persona of a Democratic voter who is motivated free college, free health care, free welfare, and so on.;;They see Democrats as voting in order to get free stuff without having to work for it was extremely common roughly one in six Republican voters used the word free in the their answers, whereas no real Democratic voters in our sample answered this way.;

Taking The Perspective Of Others Proved To Be Really Hard

The divide in the United States is wide, and one indication of that is how difficult our question proved for many thoughtful citizens. A 77-year-old Republican woman from Pennsylvania was typical of the voters who struggled with this question, telling us, This is really hard for me to even try to think like a devilcrat!, I am sorry but I in all honesty cannot answer this question. I cannot even wrap my mind around any reason they would be good for this country.
Similarly, a 53-year-old Republican from Virginia said, I honestly cannot even pretend to be a Democrat and try to come up with anything positive at all, but, I guess they would vote Democrat because they are illegal immigrants and they are promised many benefits to voting for that party. Also, just to follow what others are doing. And third would be just because they hate Trump so much. The picture she paints of the typical Democratic voter being an immigrant, who goes along with their party or simply hates Trump will seem like a strange caricature to most Democratic voters. But her answer seems to lack the animus of many.;;
Democrats struggled just as much as Republicans. A 33-year-old woman from California told said, i really am going to have a hard time doing this but then offered that Republicans are morally right as in values, going to protect us from terrorest and immigrants, going to create jobs.

Across the party as a whole, an NBC News poll released late last month found, a majority of Republicans considered themselves supporters of the GOP, compared to just 44 percent who supported Trump above all, the first time that has been the case since July 2019.
But mild dissatisfaction with Trump isn’t the same as political courage. Most prominent Republicans have publicly aligned with Trump even as voter support erodes, and they’re buckled in for the long haul. That creates the opening for more traditional Republicans to toy with forming a new party but it’s a slim one.
America Should Deport Illegal Immigrants
Republicans believe that illegal immigrants, no matter the reason they are in this country, should be forcibly removed from the U.S. Although illegal immigrants are often motivated to come to the U.S. by companies who hire them, Republicans generally believe that the focus of the law should be on the illegal immigrants and not on the corporations that hire them.

Republicans Think Democrats Always Cheat
The Republican strategy has several sources of motivation, but the most important is a widely shared belief that Democrats in large cities i.e., racial minorities engage in systematic vote fraud, election after election. We win because of our ideas, we lose elections because they cheat us, insisted Senator Lindsey Graham on Fox News last night. The Bush administration pursued phantasmal vote fraud allegations, firing prosecutors for failing to uncover evidence of the schemes Republicans insisted were happening under their noses. In 2008, even a Republican as civic-minded as John McCain accused ACORN, a voter-registration group, of maybe perpetrating one of the greatest frauds in voter history in this country, maybe destroying the fabric of democracy.
The persistent failure to produce evidence of mass-scale vote fraud has not discouraged Republicans from believing in its existence. The failure to expose it merely proves how well-hidden the conspiracy is. Republicans may despair of their chances of proving Trumps vote-fraud charges in open court, but many of them believe his wild lies reflect a deeper truth.
Despite The State Of Our Politics Hope For America Is Rising And So Is Youths Faith In Their Fellow Americans
What GOP Leaders Think of Trump, Then and Now
In the fall of 2017, only 31% of young Americans said they were hopeful about the future of America; 67% were fearful. Nearly four years later, we find that 56% have hope. While the hopefulness of young whites has increased 11 points, from 35% to 46% — the changes in attitudes among young people of color are striking. Whereas only 18% of young Blacks had hope in 2017, today 72% are hopeful . In 2017, 29% of Hispanics called themselves hopeful, today that number is 69% .
By a margin of nearly three-to-one, we found that youth agreed with the sentiment, Americans with different political views from me still want whats best for the country — in total, 50% agreed, 18% disagreed, and 31% were recorded as neutral. In a hopeful sign, no significant difference was recorded between Democrats and Republicans .

What These Republicans Think About Donald Trump

| We’ve been hearing it for months: Many established Republicans won’t support Donald Trump, who now is the party’s 2016 presidential nominee.
Since May 3, when Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus urged the party to unite behind the real estate tycoon, several prominent Republicans have publicly said they won’t back the New York billionaire in the general election. And some have said they will skip the Republican National Convention, scheduled for July 18 through 21 in Cleveland.
Trump’s inflammatory remarks toward immigrants and women have given pause to some members of the party, while others differ on his policy stances on issues including the economy, foreign affairs and international trade, to name just a few. Meanwhile, a small number of established members of the party have publicly supported the presumptive nominee.
Below is a look at who has said what…so far.
With Trump Off The Ballot Republicans Look To Regain Votes In The Suburbs
Trump’s influence in Ohio even after defeat so far has showed no signs of decline.
In the Ohio legislature, where the GOP controls the agenda with a super-majority, Republicans are looking to enact new restrictions on voting, following Trump’s baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 elections. There have even been proposals to rename a state park after Trump and to honor him with a state holiday. U.S. Senate hopefuls are jockeying to be the most pro-Trump Republican candidate. And the fact that a Cleveland area GOP congressman, Anthony Gonzalez, voted to impeach Trump in January has made him a handy target for Republicans looking to catch Trump’s eye, and maybe an endorsement.
But even at the Licking County GOP gathering, there were a number of opinions about the former president and the role he should play going forward in Republican politics.
The guest speaker at the event was GOP consultant Matt Dole, whose remarks offered a bit of consolation to audience members who may have loved Trump but were far less fond of his Twitter habit.
“We had to defend whatever Donald Trump did on a day in and day out basis,” Dole told his audience of about 50 Republican Party members. He added that they were all for Trump’s policies, “but sometimes his tweets got in the way.”
Republicans wish Trump were still in office, but according to Dole, they are now free to go on offense and focus on attacking the policies of Biden and the Democrats.

I know people might think thats a dodge, but I think there are important conversations that we need to have as an American people among ourselves about where we are right now.

Most Republicans Still Believe 2020 Election Was Stolen From Trump Poll
May opinion poll finds that 53% of Republicans believe Trump is the true president compared with 3% of Democrats
A majority of Republicans still believe Donald Trump won the 2020 US presidential election and blame his loss to Joe Biden on baseless claims of illegal voting, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.
The 17-19 May national poll found that 53% of Republicans believe Trump, their partys nominee, is the true president now, compared with 3% of Democrats and 25% of all Americans.
About one-quarter of adults falsely believe the 3 November election was tainted by illegal voting, including 56% of Republicans, according to the poll. The figures were roughly the same in a poll that ran from 13-17 November which found that 28% of all Americans and 59% of Republicans felt that way.
Biden, a Democrat, won by more than 7m votes. Dozens of courts rejected Trumps challenges to the results, but Trump and his supporters have persisted in pushing baseless conspiracy theories on conservative news outlets.
US federal and state officials have said repeatedly they have no evidence that votes were compromised or altered during the presidential election, rejecting the unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud advanced by Trump and many of his supporters. Voter fraud is extremely rare in the US.
Still, 67% of overall respondents say they trust election officials in their town to do their job honestly, including 58% of Republicans, according to the poll.
