looking at (vetted) gofundmes for people trying to escape palestine and i don't know how many of you actually click on the gofundme links you reblog but i would like to point out, for what it's worth, just how amazing it is that so many have raised so much money. it may overall feel like a drop in the ocean but the fact that several gofundmes have raised tens of thousands of dollars is amazing. it is so expensive to leave gaza right now, and people still need money after they escape. but regardless of what propaganda the US, UK, canada, and other western nations are trying to pump out, people across the world are doing what they can to help these people survive. many of them are still very far from their goals (like this one and this one and this one) and some of them are very close to high goals (like this one), and some of them have reached almost double their original goal.

and that's not even addressing direct aid or organizations that take continuous donations for distribution of food, menstrual products, etc. the PCRF has raised $16,000,000 of their target goal of $20,000,000 to fund current aid and long-term relief efforts in gaza. ANERA's febuary 13th update discusses the material ways they helped palestinians today:

my point is, it often feels like the world is turning a blind eye to palestine. but i would like to point out that there is an important difference between "the world" and "western political leaders and media narratives". a breathtaking amount of real people, the people who make up the world, are trying to help. in the face of israel attempting to commit genocide, the world is saying No. These people deserve to live. and literally sending millions of dollars internationally, through the internet connection that israel has desperately been trying to destroy.

it may not feel like it matters in the grand scheme of things. but to the people who get fresh clothes, or a hot meal, or blankets, or the kids who get new toys, or to the people who are able to bring their families to safety, it matters to them. go make someone's day better. i've linked so many options with ways to do that.

Are there any facts regarding the Slumbering truth? I'm quite interested. How did Shadow treat Healer after realizing that he is getting attached?

Hmm I should start from the beginning here I think-

At first Shadow Milk was far from being nice towards Healer, treating him like entertainment and a toy, wishing to break him down or just venting out his frustrations (basically veeery toxic, poor Healer). Cause hey, this is someone who 'stole' his soul jam. And now this 'thief' is pathetic, weak and without memories, it'd be a shame to just crumble him or not play around with his prey. And Smilk still needs PV's memories back to have full powers, but he doesn't want to do it the boring way. He wants to see what his other half is capable of even in this weak state.

But of course, he got attached. Healer has struck something within him that no one dared to touch before, they had some things in common, Smilk started to see himself in that sweet Healer. And Healer started to act a bit differently too, instead of fearing him he'd smile at him, talk to him with genuine friendliness and even playfully smacked him with a staff a few times when he tried to intimidate him, the audacity! The lack of fear or blind obedience intrigued Shadow Milk until he realized he didn't even want that power so much, he liked Healer's company even if he found his kindness naive and foolish. He liked Healer a lot more than he dared to admit.

He didn't want Healer to regain his memories anymore. He didn't need the soul jam that much, his own half was more than enough to use his powers. After all if Healer remembered he'd surely leave him and he'd find out what a terrible beast Shadow Milk was. There's no way he'd be so kind after that and would be willing to stay, he'd most likely try to seal Shadow Milk away again and Smilk would be stuck for another millenia again. And Smilk already shared way too much about himself than the other should've known.

So he decided to act in the only way he knew, manipulate Healer into staying, trying to make sure Healer avoided anything that could trigger him to remember or make his soul jam resonate. He'd manipulate his current memories, make his dreams into nightmares just in hopes of making him stay. It should've been easy with how vulnerable Healer was to his influence.

..Unless Healer is not so innocent and oblivious as it might seem? Who knows..

Couya before:

In good health, has been somewhat impacted by famine conditions but not badly.

Really pleased about the fact that she refused to perform a mourning haircut for her mother's funeral and more or less got away with it.

Has vowed to never braid it again after the funeral to spite her memory.

Couya after:

Lost a ton of weight due to stress and near-starvation conditions, and, more acutely, being stranded away from the pilgrimage party for a couple weeks and almost dying.

Freckle density increased due to intense sustained sun exposure.

Didn't do a mourning haircut for Faiza because she was pretending she didn't know she was dead/pretending that she wasn't dead.

Had to shave all her hair off anyway because apparently it's now just an established tradition that the Odomache is shaved under that headdress. Didn't know that was a thing.

Is trying to be cool about it and keep up appearances that she doesn't care about appearances and also because she is now a hollowed out pathway for the deity-aspect of sovereignty, but GOD does this haircut look like shit.

No one can even try to make her braid her hair anymore at least.

In fairly good health, is not actually suffering from famine conditions in any real way.

Just had a mourning haircut. Complicated feelings about everything about the situation Besides the haircut, which he hates.

Trying to salvage it with a tiny bun until it grows out.

As usual, compromising with his shitty beard by shaving the patchy parts off and keeping it short and neat.

Extremely worried that the combination of a minimal beard and short hair makes him look like a male sex worker.

Janeys after:

Lost a lot of weight due to near-starvation conditions and stress. Looks fucking awful.

Just had a second mourning haircut in a 6 month period, went a little overboard with this one, is running out of hair.

Beloved sister is dead and non-beloved half-sister is now apparently head of state, and the two week period in which this occurred has aged him by a decade.

Hasn't bothered to shave in a solid month and now everyone knows that he Can kinda grow a beard but that it sucks.

He doesn't really look like a male sex worker anymore at least.
