ok folx just watched bullet train which rekindled my love for atj which led me to find out THIS POOR MAN WAS GROOMED WTF.😭😭 Here are my initial angry thoughts bc I need to express them somewhere:

1. There is a difference b/t age gap relationships and grooming. I'll be the first to admit to the common connection between the two, but in a situation where everyone is actually a functioning adult (which is rare at 18-early twenties let's just say it) and everything is consensual, age gap relationships can be healthy. NOT SAYING THEY ALL ARE JUST SAYING ITS POSSIBLE

2. Aaron saying it's chill doesn't make it chill. Abusive situations alter a survivor's perspective AND we know nothing about the power dynamic b/t the two or how sam has effected his view of the situation.

3. using the fact that he pursued her first as a justification is so gross. WHAT NASTY ASS 40+ PERSON TAKES THE FLIRTING OF A TEENAGER AS A GREENLIGHT FOR A RELATIONSHIP

4. There is a difference between being a legal adult and a functioning adult. Assuming legal adults are ready and able to make all the safe and healthy choices that someone who has experienced/practiced independence and the grown world would is so problematic and nonsensical

5. SHE WAS HIS FUCKING BOSS WTF

I think it weird how ppl act around and towards atj. Like they can say it’s because he was groomed all they wanted but at some point I have to question if he wasn’t as attractive as he is, would they be acting like this it’s just weird.
