This could be good, but it needs time. The yandere is gross, creepy and suspicious. The woman he's obsessed with is a very kind, meek pushover. He's a CIA agent so he has access to way too much information and power. He uses his position to keep his beloved in a fancy basement war bunker. The dialogue isn't awesome, but it's not boring.

Lia Hendrickson is super unlucky. A rich family adopted her, but both of her new parents were abusive. She tried to run away, but then a pervert started stalking her, so she had to run straight back home. Her shitty life is national news because her shitty parents are universally beloved political figures. Nobody else can see how horrible they are.

Lia is beautiful and she has good manners, but she also has terrible anxiety. The author doesn't openly say it but it's severe. Lia is prone to panic attacks and she's suicidal. Her life has always been a mess, so her deep depression isn't shocking.

When she crawls back home to her abusive parents she finds their dead bodies. Some political nonsense is happening, and coincidentally the CIA agent investigating the case is obsessed with her for unknown reasons. He seems to think he knows her very well, even though she doesn't know him.

Ivan is a pretty great yandere. He likes to sniff Lia's clothes. He doesn't want her to see other people...ever. He took over the Hendrickson murder case so he could control her. He's competent but he's a mess around her. She catches him masturbating and she also finds his photo collection.

This hurts her even more, because she trusted him. Ivan is very nice. He cooks. He cleans. He provides.

He sends a real doctor into the secret bunker she's hidden in so she can get proper medical care. He even gives her a present on Christmas day. She sort of enjoys his company, so when she finds him with her bra she's crushed.

She tries to fight. She thinks he's the stalker that ruined her life after she ran away from home. I think he isn't. I think she had a more normal stalker because her parents were famous, and he's the final boss stalker. Lia is about to inherit a ton of money. She needs him for protection, but she's also willing to kill herself to hurt him, because she's tired of being used.

Ivan isn't normal so their argument doesn't go well. His dick is still hard by the way. It's very awkward. Lia starts crying because...yeah there's a stalker with a boner yelling in her face. Ivan swears he didn't stalk her, which has to be a lie. He says he gathered intel on her for work, but he has way too much. Some of his photos are from a long time ago.

The argument is really, really intense. Ivan masturbates on top of her, and he can't stop. He comes twice. Her tears don't stop him. He admits that he wants to have sex with her. Pure fear makes her faint, and they don't have sex because he knows she's not ready. This might be a Stockholm Syndrome story. Ivan is never going to let her be alone with a man. He literally gets horny when she says she relies on him. The art is sometimes bad. The plot feels a little wonky, but this could be dark and good.

that's great buddy but don't go around thinking you're immune to this. if you're not looking for plagiarism, you likely won't notice it unless its egregiously obvious. hell, you've probably consumed plagiarized content without even realizing it. even hbomb pointed out that these people disguised what they presented pretty well as long as you didn't try and dig deeper. don't come away just thinking of this as a callout piece, take this as an important lesson about vetting your sources. if googling scripts in quotes was enough to expose the original, we should all start doing that shit!!

Ao3 does not have an algorithm! It isn't a social media site, it's an archive.

Posting fics on Tumblr isn't the same as posting fics on Ao3

Ao3 is like a giant virtual bookshelf, and everyone is able to add their own stories to the bookshelf, all stored with different tags and different fandoms. Works are automatically sorted by newest to oldest, but filters, looking at bookmarks, and using the search function can change that.

Certain works are not pushed to the top like social media posts. More kudos and reads don't push a single work to more viewers by some algorithm. Unless otherwise filtered, works will be at the top of the page based on how recent it was posted.

Smaller fandoms get less views, less kudos, less bookmarks, and larger fandoms get more simply because of the number of people inside the fandom.

Ao3 is a giant virtual bookshelf- there is no algorithm, and there is no man behind the shelf pushing certain books forward.
