This bus service from London to Calcutta (Kolkata) is considered to have been the longest bus route in the world.

The service, which was started in 1957 and operated by Albert Travel, was routed to India continuing after the UK, to Belgium, through Europe via (then) Yugoslavia, Türkiye, Iran, Afghanistan, and West Pakistan.

After entering India, it eventually reached Calcutta via New Delhi, Agra, Allahabad (Prayagraj) and Banaras (Varanasi).

This route became known as the 'Hippie Route.'

It took about 50 days for the bus to reach Calcutta from London.

The voyage was 32,669 km long and was in service until 1976.

By then, the cost of the trip was £145, including food, travel and accommodation.

The bus was equipped with reading facilities, separate sleeping bunks for everyone, and fan-operated heaters.

There was a kitchen with all equipment and amenities.

There was a forward observation lounge on the upper deck of the later version of the bus.

The bus provided radio and music system for parties. It had time to spend at major tourist destinations along the way, including Banaras and the Taj Mahal on the banks of the Ganges.

Shopping breaks were organized in Salzburg, Vienna, Istanbul, Kabul and Tehran.

in general I know this country isn’t perfect but in some ways it feels like an actual utopia compared to the us like what do you MEAN museums are free. It’s so much less stinky and intimidating and grind-driven than New York, everything feels more authentic and livable and genuinely beautiful. Fix the government and you’ll be golden

1). Unreal moments in Greenland last week around 3AM at night. Distant fog with soft light and giant icebergs.

2). Sailing around 2 AM under the midnight sun in Greenland with our red sail boat. It simply looks unreal!

3). Here they found a golden waterfall coming off of a giant iceberg.

#AETHER- ALBERT MAKES A MOVE ON HIS S/O

Note: Sorry it’s so late <3 Please point out if there’s any mistakes, I didn’t read through all of this!

When Aether had came back from his commissions, he hadn’t expected not being able to find you in your usual meeting area.

He didn’t mind but he was missing you a lot and Paimon no doubt was as well (plus there’s his fear of separation with those he loves).

So, he decided he’d look around Mondstadt for a while and see if he could find you.

He spent ages looking for you before he saw you in a distance at the church, seemingly awkward and uncomfortable as Albert rambles on.

-He’s immediately ready to step in, he already knows that Barbara is harassed by Albert on the daily.

-He’s not someone to just push into conversations, that’s Paimon’s job, so he does look closely for a minute before walking to you two.

-When he does get to you, he’ll subtly place a hand round your waist or hold your hand (whatever he thinks you seem to have a preference for) in a way that the man in front of you can catch a hint.

-Albert doesn’t seem like the type of guy to understand hints so it’s likely he doesn’t even notice, which won’t help his situation at all.

-Aether isn’t necessarily just being possessive or jealous, he doesn’t want his lover to be uncomfortable.

-So, he does eventually cut into the conversation as Albert continues.

“Excuse me but I really think you need to stop that.. They’re clearly uninterested and I can confirm they have a lover already” Aether immediately states, glaring and visibly stepping towards you.

Albert stops speaking, his eyes widening for a moment in surprise.

“B-but… That’s not true, surely not?!” He replies, stepping backwards very slightly.

You nod, stepping towards Aether just as the blonde had done earlier.

“Traveler, do you mean to say you two are…?” Albert questions, visibly embarrassed.

Aether nods, “Yeah and I’d prefer if you didn’t spread it around, for the safety of my s/o here”

The brunette nods, sending a distressed facial expression before running off with a yell of “Oh, I need to find Barbara-sama, this is so embarrassing!”

-When the man is finally gone, he’ll direct a sympathetic facial expression you way before apologising.

-He’s not completely sure why he’s apologising but he doesn’t want to seem over the top or anything, you are someone he treasures greatly.

-He’s going to keep an eye on Albert from now on, that much he’s completely sure of..
