♪ note: HI HI ELI so sorry this request has been gathering dust in my inbox for more than a month.. i really wanted to write this but life be life-ing.. i really enjoyed writing this and i hope you enjoy reading this too! (also so sorry if i sound weird but i'm assuming you meant comforting them after t1? ^^'')

♪ summary: es may have done some.. pretty strange decisions and now not only the guard and the guilty prisoners, but everyone has to deal with it, including you. you can't help but feel bad for the guilty ones, and hopefully, you can offer them at least some kind of support.

♪ warnings: description of fuuta and mahiru being in pain because of their injuries, the reader character doesn't know about mikoto and john being a system, but still treats them as respectfully as possible, mentions of cults and religious trauma in amane's section. fuuta, mahiru and mikoto parts can be seen as both romantic and platonic, meanwhile amane's part is strictly platonic.

♪ fuuta was.. in terrible condition, to say the least. his personality was so different from the fuuta you knew, too. sure, you've met him not so long ago, but seeing him act like this felt.. weird. you actually kinda missed the old fuuta, yes, he was kinda rude, loud and said things without thinking, but you'd prefer that than seeing fuuta in pain and not being able to say a word. you wish you could help him somehow, but.. what could you do? you doubt that convincing es to forgive him is possible..

♪ you tried to support him at least in an emotional way, even though you knew that might not work. it's highly possible he won't be able to see with his right eye ever again, of course, that's extremely traumatizing. he also got beat up by kotoko out of all prisoners, who actually seemed to be similar to him in a way. but you told him that if fuuta wanted to talk to you about anything, like complain about something or vent, he could always do that. fuuta found your kindness weird and even suspicious at first, but.. fine, he could use a friend in a situation like this. or at least a person who could hear him out.

♪ fuuta finds himself coming to you more often than he thought he would. it's not like he has that many people to talk to here anyway. he's grateful to kazui (even though he doesn't want to admit it), but.. he's not sure if there is anything he can talk to him about. haruka and muu are really close now, it honestly feels like haruka has forgotten about everyone else. oh, but surprisingly, fuuta's been getting along with amane lately- what do you mean, you "have a bad feeling about this", y/n?.. 

♪ you will never actually hear this from him, but you can feel that fuuta is glad to have someone like you here. he looks calmer with you around and if he can't open up to anyone else about something, at least he can open up to you. it's easier for him to fall asleep when you're next to him, so you may find him suddenly doing so with his head on your shoulder or your lap. just, uh.. be prepared for him to be really flustered when he wakes up and sees you.

mahiru shiina.

♪ she's honestly surprised that you want to spend time with her and help her feel better despite her being voted guilty. she immediately starts joking (or maybe half-joking?..) about falling in love with you because of your kindness and you just roll your eyes and ask if she's okay and if she's in any pain. you remind her to take her medications, you ask shidou for help if her condition gets worse and you help her move around with her wheelchair, so that she doesn't feel isolated from the rest of the prisoners. being in milgram is already isolating enough.

♪ you try to help her feel better by doing things that are small and simple to you, but very meaningful to her. you brush her hair, you paint her nails (even if you can only do so on one hand for now..), you tell her that she still looks beautiful, and every time you do that, it makes her smile. it's still different from that usual smile of hers, but it's a smile that shows even though she's still suffering, she appreciates you being around. 

♪ mahiru doesn't understand why you're still helping her. is this because you love her?.. ah, please forgive her, that's just her being her usual silly self. but still.. she wasn't forgiven, right? that means she was in the wrong.. but she doesn't understand what made es vote her guilty. all she did was love her boyfriend a lot, right? does that mean that her love itself is a sin?.. is she not allowed to love at all?.. you gently interrupt mahiru and say that you don't know why es refused to forgive her, but you personally don't think mahiru's love is a sin at all. in fact, it's a blessing.

♪ mahiru feels like the sun itself personified to you and you hope that she gets better soon, but you're also grateful for the opportunity to take care of her like this. she always gives so much love to everyone, you wonder how much she gets back. you softly pat her head while making sure it's not painful considering her injury and ask what she wants to do today, but it takes a while for mahiru to answer because of your words still ringing in her head, but in a good way.

♪ .. so why exactly es decided to vote a child guilty? you know you probably shouldn't say anything about the guard's decisions, but.. this just doesn't make any sense to you. just what did es see in amane's video? or maybe something happened during the interrogation? amane's behavior has changed a lot, but you don't blame her for it. of course she would start acting differently. she's a 12 year old who was voted guilty and almost got beaten up by kotoko, kotoko ending up not doing anything to her was honestly a miracle. of course she would be mad. she should be.

♪ you try to talk to her and she kinda ignores you at first. however, you're not as bad as shidou, so.. fine, maybe she can hang out with you a little bit. it's hard not to feel sorry for her though, because of how messy her hair is and how empty her eyes are. you try to cheer her up somehow, like maybe you can do something really cute with her hair or maybe you can cook something for her (while still respecting her dietary restrictions and not forcing her to eat something she's not allowed to).. amane finds your attempts to become closer with her strange, but.. maybe she could use some company.

♪ every time she mentions her "god" around you though, you try to change the topic. you like amane and you genuinely want this kid to get better, but you're not really feeling like becoming a part of a cult.. amane just sighs and says you'll understand it someday. sometimes you catch her mumbling something about being forgiven this time and es needing to make the correct judgement. you can't really help her much when it happens and you can't do anything other than say that es will definitely forgive her, but amane manages to turn even something simple as that into rambles about her god. you can't help but wonder what amane's life used to be like.

♪ you can't convince amane that her family wasn't as kind as she thinks they were. you can't convince her that the way she was raised was too cruel. you know she won't believe you. and you know you're not a therapist. but at least you can be her friend. at least you can gently guide her, while still giving her a choice, so that she feels more free. more free than she possibly ever was in her life. and even though amane never talks about it, she does appreciate it. she feels strangely warm when you're around. she wonders if it's okay to feel this way and if god would ever forgive her for that. 

mikoto kayano.

♪ you didn't know why mikoto suddenly started to act like this. you tried to get at least some information from others, including es, but nobody gave you a proper answer, even though you had a feeling like kotoko and es know what's going on. for some reason, this mikoto just didn't.. feel like mikoto to you. it's like it was.. different mikoto? no, that doesn't sound right. it felt like it was a completely different person. you couldn't prove it and when you tried to say it out loud, it sounded weird, but.. it felt like a correct answer to you. 

♪ when it felt like it was the mikoto you knew, you always made sure to tell him what's going on, what happened, basically all the information he needed. he always looked so lost and confused, you couldn't help but feel sorry for him. you assumed that it was probably because of the trauma related to being voted guilty. you actually couldn't understand es's decision at all. just why would they vote someone like mikoto guilty? was his video really that bad? it didn't feel like mikoto was pretending to be less smarter than he is. why would he even have to do that? you all are murderers here, there's no reason for him to try and trick anyone.

♪ when it felt like it was someone else, you still tried to treat him with kindness. you couldn't understand why everyone started to avoid this person so suddenly. yes, this person was.. quite different from mikoto, but.. maybe at least they could try to accept him? you actually found it surprising how quickly he calmed down after you showed him that you don't intend to hurt him or mikoto. maybe this was the only thing he needed: someone telling him that he's safe and that he's not in danger. or maybe it was something they both needed.

♪ both mikoto and this person seem to actually like you a lot.. well, it's not like they have much of a choice here, considering that other prisoners don't really want to spend time with them. but it looks like they don't mind it that much. yes, mikoto is definitely still worried about it and he doesn't seem to remember what happens when the other person is here, but the other guy doesn't really care about the other prisoners and the only thing that bothers him is how possibly dangerous they can be. and even though he still has his suspicions.. you don't seem that dangerous to him.

Milgram Characters React To A Cat

“Aren’t you a little baby?”:

They would spot the cat during one of their walks and automatically run up to them, cooing over how cute the cat is. They would also take a lot of pictures while the cat just keeps meowing.

~ Mikoto, Yuno, Muu

*Pets the cat*:

Target spotted. Cat petting activation mode on. They would gently reach over and let the cat sniff their hand, keeping a calm expression. When the cat rubs against their hand, they swore they could have died in that moment. “You’re so cute! And soft….”

~ Muu, Shidou, Fūta

Talks to the cat:

“Why hello there kitty. I must say that I have no food for you right now. Today is a nice day, isn’t it? Where is your home?” They continues the one sided conversation as if the cat was actually saying something. They read the cat’s movements as the cat meowed back conversationally.

Responds in cat language:

“Meow?” The cat said.

“Meow meow!” They replied with such a look of contentment on their face. They talked to the cat so much, it would look like they actually know cat language.

Proceeds to ignore:

”Oh. A cat.” Proceeds to walk away.

Insults the cat:

“Oi! What’s a lowlife like you doing here in my way, huh?” They would tower over the car, making the cat hiss and back away slowly. They would just keep their arms crossed as a satisfied look appeared on their face.

“Disgusting.” They slowly backed away, making sure to keep a six foot distance away from the cat. They got their knife ready just in case anything happens.

"the most like a child out of all the prisoners. prisoner eleven is quite a refreshing character, but i am concerned for them at times. it seems like they're keeping up an act, but at the same time, that could just be how they are. i wonder if they even sleep. their eye bags seem to say otherwise."

More worried than the others, at least.

Worries if there's some sort of epidemic breaking out with you and Yuno; Shidou reassures him its not really for a medical reason. He's not too scared after that.

Tries to talk to you still. If you push him away, he'll still try. He's gotten a little more confident since the first trial.

If you want him to leave you alone for realsies, just tell him. He won't bother you. Not directly <3

S. MAHIRU

Feels partly responsible for it. Like her injuries freaked you out, or that she said something wrong.

Doesn't really know why she's so bothered by it. She has Yuno to keep her company, right? she's worried that she's being greedy by wanting you to talk to her too.

Mappi tries to get you some kind of gift in hopes that it's going to make you feel better. She ends up only being able to get her hands on a tomato, but its the thought that counts! right?!

If you're still unphased she might genuinely lose her mind. Its not love, is it..? no, no! she's just worried! she's being a good friend!

M. AMANE

doesn't notice until she overhears another prisoner (probably mahiru) talking about it.

she hasn't been quite herself either, but among the many conflicting voices in her head she decides that she should at least try to talk to you. why wouldn't she? you're her favorite out of everyone in this prison.

she's still polite as ever. even when you're both clearly in some distress.

"reader, are you okay?"

if you assure her you're fine, she won't push any further. if you just shrug her away — she'll start including your name in her prayers. every single one.

tries to ask es to talk to you, she isn't very lucky with that...

"Sup' there!" You must be the prison guard or something? I'm Chiaki Arisugawa, 21 years old! Can we like..just go on with the interrogation? I really gotta pick up my brother from school."

The 11th prisoner. A Visual-kei Idol with strong belief of her innocence. Chiaki is a chill and friendly individual, getting along with almost everyone inside the prison. Still, if her innocence in her crime gets discussed, she will get protective and aggressive, with her doting personality having a 360° change in order to protect her own action. She acts as a mentor or to the youngest prisoners, defending them and sticking by as they need a shoulder to cry on.

"You wouldn't think i'm guilty just for protecting my family, i hope? koki is the only family to me. he is most important. you have a family, right?? you understand me, don't you Guard-kun??"

haruka - they have a sibling-like bond. or at least, with her being like family to everyone, haruka clings onto dear life to her, and she bares with it and treats him as her own brother. it might get unhealthy, but generally they just complement eachother's missing things. it's in her nature to care for those in need, and haruka is in need of care after years of neglect.

yuno - they get along as on their having similar personality traits, as well as agreeding with their committed crimes. quite enjoy eachother's presence. surely you can see them hang out around strolling around the building or in eachother's jail at times.

fuuta - even though they do have a similar problem with those hero complexes, chiaki would not agree with futa's actions. she does tolerate him though, both don't mind eachother and there still is respect.

muu - chiaki gets a strong sense to protect muu when she acts like a victim, later changing her opinion on her when she finds out she wasn't much of a victim, yet still feeling conflicted about how manipulative a kid can be. she would try and stay a little in between muu and haruka to try and limiting the consequences, only gaining despisement from muu herself.

shidou - as much as chiaki disagrees with what shidou did with his patiences, she can't help but understand his feelings on the topic of just wanting his family back. they are casual talkers, and she would start conversations with him. both smoke at around the same hour, too.

mahiru - very good friends. mahiru likes chiaki's style being so different from her own, and their personalities match relatively well. chiaki doesn't mind the love talks, though not having much experiences in the topic of love, and would listen to mappi's cheery lovetalk with open ears.

kazui - chiaki feels shocked at confused, not forgiving kazui in the first place as she wonders how you could even make your wife end her own life in the first place. again though, they are not like cat and dog, and have small talk occasionally.

amane - she feels incredibly bad for how the little girl seems to be so mature for her age, wondering just how much she must have only have relied on herself.

mikoto - the two of them are neighbors living in the same apartments complex, just a few numbers away from eachother. they did have some small talk and knew eachother before milgram, and would be surprised seeing eachother in said prison. chiaki, seeing the constant panic he is in, is protective towards mikoto and would try talking it out to es (failing, of course.)

kotoko - she thinks her actions on why she is in milgram are admirable, but won't understand her need to beat people up as a punishment.

es - chiaki has a very chill and laidback personality, but that shatters as soon as you contradict her own sense of justice. her behavior towards es would mostly change depending on given verdict.

Amane was definitely wary of you at first. After all, she didn't know if you were treating her kindly because of her age or not

It doesn't take too long for her to grow used to you though, and you're one of the main people she goes to with everything

She likes how nice you are towards her. It's not something that she's too used to, and she lets her guard down bit by bit

When she hears that other prisoners don't like you much, she doesn't understand why. You're one of the nicest people in the world!

It turns out you're only that way towards her, but you make sure she doesn't know too much about the special treatment. She definitely suspects it though

She even starts to see you as an older sibling, someone for her to look up to amidst everything going on

Overall, she takes a big liking to you! The same can't be said for the other prisoners who have faced your glare...

"Should we start sleeping now?" Es asks you as you stopped whatever you were doing and turned your head at Es "Sure." You said as you got yourself comfortable in bed, the bed felt soft, it was just right for you, as you look around and turn to Es who's looking away from you, trying to sleep peacefully

You go closer to Es as you hug their back, making them turn on you, you smiled as Es smiled back, you pat Es's head, lowering your arms down to hold their waist and hold them tightly to you, "I'm so tired..." You hide yourself in Es's chest

"That's why we sleep." Es closes their eyes as you closed yours, making both of you go to sleep

HAKURA SAKURAI

You see Haruka sitting at the bed, most likely waiting for you as he focuses his attention on you when you enter, he was already looking at the door before you even entered anyways

You sit down on the bed with Haruka, you know he doesn't have the confidence to make a move so you go closer to him and give him a warm hug full of love, he happily puts his head on your shoulder, feeling the warm embrace you gave him

You soon stopped and got yourself tucked in the blankets with Haruka, he'd slowly move closer and closer to you until he's practically bumped into you, you turn to Haruka as you hug him and maybe even hum a song that calms his mind.

YUNO KASHIKI

She'll be waiting in bed, most likely scrolling through her phone as she notices you enter and looks at you, as you shut the door

She gets up, going towards you but moving a lot at the same time and moves around you, surprising you from behind, she can get a bit playful around you sometimes

As you hug her back, you both lay down on the bed as Yuno looks at you deeply, she holds your hand and goes closer to you, giving a little peck on your cheek on the way, you already know she wants to cuddle so bad, so you give in and make her cuddle and snuggle you

"I think it's about time we sleep." You stopped cuddling and let yourself face the ceiling as Yuno would turn to you and hug you, both of you position yourselves to get a comfortable position to sleep and after you've found one it's time to Zzz...

FUUTA KAJIYAMA

It's night, and Fuuta's playing games again, you wait as you watch whatever he's playing, patting his head on occasion, distracting him for a bit and blushing but immediately goes back to playing

It'll probably take a while for him to finish but if he rages and quits or gets tired, he looks at you and turns off whatever he was playing on

He'd climb on bed as you hug him first until he hugs you back tightly, the hug was quite aggressive, you thought to yourself as you both fall on the bed that screams for a cuddle session

Maybe after some cuddling and snuggling, you got tired and closed your eyes, as you feel Fuuta's hand nervously cup your cheek, you can feel him kiss your forehead, opening your eyes, you see him blush, quite red as you move much more closer to him and then sleep

MUU KUSUNOKI

Mu would be laying down at bed close to you, she'd be waiting for you to notice her because you're focusing on something else once you do notice her she'll sit up and pull you into a hug

Petting her head and playing with her hair for a while, she starts to crave for the head petting so when you stop she'll take your hand and place it on her head, which seems to be begging you to pet her again so you did

"Say you love me." Mu said as she got moved closer to you "Say it now." She then looked into your eyes "I love you if it isn't obvious already!" You trap Mu into a hug as she rested her head on your shoulder

As you make yourself fall to the bed including Mu, she'd practically signal you into snuggling with her so you do as you are told, snuggling her and finally snoozing off.

You would see Shidou already in bed trying to sleep, the lights are already off and you've just entered the room. Shidou would notice you once you've entered

"How was your day?" Shidou asked as he watches you approach the bed "It was fine, there's nothing really remarkable that happened anyways." You sat down on the bed "Is that so, well let's get to bed then."

Shidou would usually start a conversation sometimes it's long, short, he'd talk to you before going to bed

Once you lay down on the bed and got yourself under the blanket, you'd scoot over to Shidou as he looks at you with a gentle and caring smile, he knows what you want as he puts his arms around your waist

Afterwards both of you would sleep peacefully, letting the night pass to make the day arrive

You'd let her enter your room as you'd get a bedtime story book and read it to her, she relaxes for a bit, hearing your voice say a story to her ears

She still looks a bit frightened after you read, "I don't wanna sleep alone!" She says to you as you sigh and sleep beside her, letting her know no more monsters will come and haunt her dreams

Mikoto would arrive home, tired as usual, you'd hear him open the door even from the bedroom as you were putting your mind to rest Mikoto would take a bath at this time so you waited

After you see the door open you greet him, seeing him tired as he got himself in bed you hug him and pat his back, letting his head rest on your shoulder and giving him your warmth

Even if he's tired he would try and cuddle you, and give you some of his warmth as well, although you do really want him to rest, you aren't complaining at all

It doesn't take long till both of you stop cuddling, as you rest on his chest and sleep for the night

Both of you are chilling in the bed, taking your time to get ready for bed, till your eyes start to slowly close by itself, it's time to sleep it seems.

Kotoko would notice and move closer to you to watch you, she'd then put hold your hand and raise it to her face, although you felt half asleep you'd turn to Kotoko.

You would then move closer to her as Kotoko watched you, she'd kiss your forehead and hold your hand tighter temporarily at that moment.

"Goodnight." That's what you hear her say as you both finally went to sleep.
