Everyone spare a prayer for me tonight, I made just absolutely perfect roast potatoes and left them in the oven on a low heat just to keep them warm for a bit until the rest of the food was ready. Then my oven decided that 200°C/400°F was a much better temperature, so now I have lil dry bits of gravel to serve with our duck breasts lmao

That WIP isn't dead.

We've just put it out to pasture.

Yeah, we could tell it just wasn't feeling it's usual self this season, so we've decided to give it a rest to take the pressure off.

When will it be back? We don't know. Rest and recuperation takes time. It'll tell us when it's ready to return.

And hey, if it ends up having to retire, that's fine too. We've had a good run with this WIP. Would be a shame to work it into the ground if it's really not a doer. Not all WIPs are born to be winners, after all.

And there's always the possibility of producing a new WIP from it. Who knows, its offspring could just go on to be the next big thing.

i retcon the ending of k.aleidoscope of d.eath ALL THE TIME on this blog because I personally think none of the narrative clues made sense - but PRESENTLY I'm thinking about how faintly cosmic horror (tm) it is that in the extra it's revealed that N.anzhu views the humans that pass through his Door Trial as roses in a garden, and he views himself as the gardener. I think subsequently it was also really necessary for him and Q.iushi to switch lives for the whole book for him to understand from his perspective what it's like to be a "rose" before he really has the ability to really Love Q.iushi in a more human way rather than the way one might have a favorite flower they like to study in the backyard.
