**The Best of the Best: Must-Read Fanfiction Gems**
Hello everyone! As a long-time fanfiction reader and enthusiast, I've come across some incredible stories that have left a lasting impact on me. These are the fanfics that are so well-written and captivating, they deserve to be published as books. Here are my top picks from my favorite fandoms:
Okay before we get into this, a little warning: please read the tags that come with each fanfic. I don't put smutty stuff in here either. (I'll make a separate post for that). There may be some scenes in the fics, but it's not the main focus. This is about story, characters and storytelling.  Also, I didn't list all the fics, probably because I haven't read them yet or simply forgot. Besides, that would just make the post even longer than it is right now. I will definitely do more posts on each fandom, different tropes, characters and settings. Be patient, I'm doing this mainly for myself so that I can better organize my fics. I'm just not that active in some fandoms. If you have any suggestions, feel free to write them and I will read them.

I can only post 10 links per Post (tumblr does not allow more than 10)
Teen Wolf Fandom:
1. It came from the trees by whatshouldntbe
it came from the trees 🍉 - Chapter 1 - whatshouldntbe - Teen Wolf (TV) [Archive of Our Own]
“Don’t worry, Scott caught me up on everything,” Kira assures with a bubbly smile via video-chat. “You and Derek, huh? I probably should have seen that coming. I always thought it might be Cora, but Derek was the one that looked at you how I used to look at you.”
Stiles goes a little pink. “It’s still kinda new but, yeah. I really like him. He’s...” Beautiful. Patient. Smart. Painfully honest. Sweet. “...a total dork.”
Kira laughs and laughs. When she gets herself together, she replies, “Yeah, those little hearts and stars in your eyes definitely say different."
or
Stiles moves from the shiny, fast-paced lifestyle of Los Angeles to the foggy, sleepy town of Beacon Hills so his dad can become the new sheriff. Newly fifteen, he does his best to finish out his freshman year of high school (by staying under the radar) when he suddenly becomes the Beyoncé of the Supernatural community. And, without much prompting on his part, he ends up catching the eye of one of the most prominent Werewolf families in all of North America. It literally all starts with a stuffed animal(s).
🍉 THIS FIC HAS BEEN ABANDONED; READ AT YOUR OWN RISK 🍉
---
Main Ship: Stiles Stilinski/Derek Hale
This fic is for people who don't have much experience with fanfic or Teen Wolf. It's long, incomplete but so beautiful. It built a world that I could dive into immediately. Definitely read it!
2. Wolf Within by wynnebat
Wolf Within - Chapter 1 - wynnebat - Teen Wolf (TV) [Archive of Our Own]
Instead of convincing Scott to regain his humanity by killing the Alpha, Derek offers another possible solution.
Main Ship: Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski
I know a lot of people don't like Peter/Stiles and the ship is more than problematic, but in this story it fits well. What if Stiles had taken over Scott's werewolf powers and no one knows that Peter is the Alpha. I love werewolf Stiles stories simply because I'm sure Stiles would have been the better werewolf.
the podfic: [podfic] Wolf Within - reena_jenkins - Teen Wolf (TV) [Archive of Our Own]
3. What I Did On My Summer Vacation by grimm
What I Did On My Summer Vacation - Chapter 1 - grimm - Teen Wolf (TV) [Archive of Our Own]
There's something weird about Beacon Hills that Stiles can't quite put his finger on. The way everyone in town knows his name the day he arrives. The way they insist the melancholic howling that echoes through the forest every night is just a dog. The way his dad denies getting a dog, even though Stiles comes home to find one sprawled across his bed, some big black thing whose eyes gleam red in the right light. The way that massive oak tree out in the woods vibrates under his touch, pulsing with sickly life.
There's something weird going on in this town, and Stiles is determined to get to the bottom of it.
Main Ship: Stiles Stilinski/Derek Hale
Do you like fics in which a dog is adopted? Mysterious booksellers with a secret room? Magical creatures and a very mysterious forest? I love this fic, there's a great podfic here too that I can only recommend.
Podfic: [podfic] What I Did On My Summer Vacation - Chapter 1 - read by lunchee (lunchee) - Teen Wolf (TV) [Archive of Our Own]
Supernatural Fandom:
1. A Beginner's Guide to Communing with the Dead by suspiciousflashlight
A Beginner's Guide to Communing with the Dead - Chapter 1 - suspiciousflashlight - Supernatural [Archive of Our Own]
Maybe it's the little girl whose disappearance turned into a murder, and whose murder turned into a cold case, and who has now apparently decided to move in with him. Maybe it's the unacceptable hole left in his life when his dumb best friend and partner in (the prevention of) crime decided to go and get himself killed. Maybe it's his brother, whose high-profile career and fantastic girlfriend and first-child-on-the-way are steadily leaving Dean in the dust. Pick one. Pick all of them. The why doesn't matter so much as the what, and the what is this: Dean is pretty sure he's going completely, certifiably insane. Sure, he hasn't started wearing all his clothes inside out, and he still showers on a regular basis (anyways, that's not crazy, just a little eccentric); but there's no getting around the fact that he just threw away his life, his career, and his reputation by dragging out his mom's old necromancy book and summoning a Class A Forbidden Entity to his attic. A cranky one, too. With horrendous bed-head.
---
Main Ship: Dean Winchester/Castiel
Even though I'm not in the supernatural fandom that often anymore, this is a great fanfic. Murder mystery, cop Dean, powerful being Cas and absolutely terrific writing. I love it and could read it all the time.
2. Catching Hell by ADeedWithoutaName
Catching Hell - Chapter 1 - ADeedWithoutaName - Supernatural [Archive of Our Own]
Sam Winchester is, perhaps, the greatest asset to the hunting community. His research, advice, and insight has reached countless hunters and solved innumerable mysteries. His life is solitary, but useful. That changes, however, with the delivery of a captured Knight of Hell who calls himself Dean.
---
Main Ship: Sam Winchester/Dean Winchester (they are not related in this fic!!)
I know, I know, it's billed as Ship Sam/Dean but don't let that scare you away. Sam and Dean are not related in this fic! It's brilliantly written, with Hunter Sam and badass Demon Dean. I highly recommend it.
1D Fandom:
1. Tired Tired Sea by Mediawhore (only available for ao3 users)
Tired Tired Sea - Chapter 1 - MediaWhore - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own]
As a B&B owner on the most remote of all the British Isles, Louis Tomlinson is used to spending the coldest half of the year in complete isolation, with his dog and the sea as sole companions. Until, one day, a mysterious stranger on a quest to rebuild himself rents a room for the winter.
---
Main Ship: Louis Tomlinson/Harry Styles
From the very beginning, you find yourself on Louis' island and immerse yourself in a world of select solitude. I fell head over heels in love with the writing style and especially with the lighthouse. I long to go on holiday there one day.
2. Love Endless: Road to Recollection by wubwubnparmaham
Love Endless: Road to Recollection - Chapter 1 - wubwubnparmaham - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own]
The year is 1973, and eighteen-year-old Louis Tomlinson is perhaps the gayest teen to ever grace the gloomy, hateful town of Fortwright, Idaho. He has a best friend, Niall, a kindhearted music teacher, and his mother on his side, and everyone else is endlessly trying to kill him
All signs pointed to his life playing out in much the same way it always had, and he was trying his best to come to terms with that.
But the course of that life changed forever when he found the mansion. A notoriously haunted mansion hidden deep within the forests of his tiny blip of a town, it sucked him in and then never let him go.
After discovering the mansion was less abandoned than he'd previously thought, he is now left with the most riveting mystery of a lifetime, each new finding leaving him with more questions. Who is this elusive owner, and why won't they show themselves? Why is there a set of journals in the same handwriting that span over centuries? Who could ever explain owning assumedly authentic ancient Roman garments and relics of the French Revolution in the comfort of their own home? Why in the world is there a padlock on the refrigerator...and who the hell is Alexander?
[Book 1/4]
---
Main Ship: Louis Tomlinson/Harry Styles, Niall Horan/Zayn Malik
brilliantly written, if you like Soulmate's AUs, you've come to the right place. Vampire, 1970s, sassy Louis, what more could you want? And the plot twist is brilliant. Be sure to read the whole series!
3. Escapade by dolce_piccante
Escapade - Chapter 1 - dolce_piccante - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own]
In the grand scheme of things, finding a date for a wedding should be no problem for Louis Tomlinson. He's rich. He's handsome. He's reasonably well behaved. But when the wedding is for his lifelong best friend (and former boyfriend), and is happening in under a month, finding a date for the ceremony and accompanying festivities becomes more of an adventure than he ever could have planned for.
Main Ship: Louis Tomlinson/Harry Styles, Niall Horan/Zayn Malik
Very famous classic Larry fanfic. Brilliantly written. dolce_piccante is a great writer, check out their profile!

Suffer with me SasuSaku lovers...hahaha
So I was perusing through my WIPs and found this little gem. It's another one of those thoughts that came in the middle of the night and I just vomited what I could at the time before I forgot it. It's a WIP, I recently called, "Together Again" - SasuSaku Timetravel AU. After re-reading this WIP, I was sad that there wasn't more. I was even sadder when I realized that it was I, who left it unfinished and haven't written more (*sobs incoherently*). I'm pretty sure where I want to go with this, the problem is the same as always, figuring out how to get there. I will eventually pick this back up but in the meantime, I am sharing this little snippet because it's that good if I do say so myself...lol. So for all you SasuSaku lovers out there, suffer with me and enjoy this snippet. Trust me, you won't be disappointed, except maybe want more...hahaha.
"TOGETHER AGAIN" - A SasuSaku Timetravel AU
CH. 1
SAKURA HARUNO, the pink-haired medic nin, dries her hair off with a towel as she prepares to read a few medical charts while waiting for her hair to dry before going to bed.
This has become her nightly routine. Most women have a beauty routine, others spend time talking on the phone with their significant others. Her, she has her work, training and sometimes the other thing that she took from her Shishou, the Fifth Hokage, besides her enormous strength and her medical ninjutsu, her love for the alcoholic beverage.
She would sometimes have a drink or two while doing some work before bed or when work has been a little too stressful, she stops by a local tavern to get her fill. Occasionally, she would be accompanied by a friend or two but when her friends are busy with their own significant others or out on missions, she finds herself at the tavern alone with her work. Since she’s a regular, the tavern owners and the barkeep keeps an eye on her. The tavern owners see her as a daughter while the barkeep has a hidden crush on her, though he keeps it to himself as to not seem like the other idiots who wanders in the bar looking for someone to warm their beds at night. To be perfectly honest, he’s attracted to her and fears her at the same time. Some of the regulars also look out for her knowing that she can protect herself especially from travelling drunkards who are naïve enough to hit on her and unaware that she has the strength of a hundred men in her delicate little pinkie. On the occasion that it happens, the regulars as well as whoever is working for the night make their bets to see how long she’ll let the poor fellow talk and how far he flies out the door. On a night she feels generous, he gets away with just a hurt pride and with both legs and arms intact. On an unlucky day, she runs into them the next day at her job as Director of the Konoha General Hospital. Of course, she can pass them off to her residents and interns without having to deal with them herself. This earns her a few sniggers and gossip as well as a few of them trying to play matchmaker.
This is what became of Sakura’s life – work, training and being the only single one left out of her peers. Even her best friend, Ino, is set to be married in a few months. Not that she’s complaining. Her work gives her a sense of warmth and happiness knowing that she saves lives, and she keeps families from being torn apart. She also garnered a lot of respect from her peers as well as the whole village. It makes her feel proud of herself to know that they rely on her and places their lives and the lives of their loved ones in her capable hands.
As for her personal life, it is a personal choice. It’s not that she doesn’t try, she has been on a few dates, and she’s even slept with a few of them. On one occasion, she had to shower and dress at work coming straight from the previous night’s tryst. However, most of the time, the relationship doesn’t go far mostly because of her busy schedule or they’re busy with missions and are out of the village while she’s stuck in the village running the hospital. She tried dating a civilian once, even though he was from a well-off family and held a prominent position, his insecurities got the best of him, and he ended up cheating on her. Then there is also a part of the reason for her singleness that she would never admit to anyone but to herself, even then she doesn’t dare to speak it out loud except in the deep cavern of her heart – the fact that her heart has never truly healed from the loss of a certain dark-haired nin whom she loved since she can remember.
After the battle between her two best friends resulting with one of them losing an arm and no trace of the other except for a large, burnt crater with a few specks of blood and singed pieces of clothing. There was no closure, at least not for her. There was no body to bury - just the anger and a gaping hole that won’t heal no matter how hard she tries. She has tried, hell, everyone who loved her tried as well. At first, they would try to comfort her when she would have a hint of an emotional breakdown then they would amuse her and spar with her when she would have her fits of anger though the surrounding area paid for most of it with the number of trees she destroyed and the craters she created on the ground. After a while, after everyone had moved on and thought that she did too, she started keeping how she really felt to herself and decided to bury herself with her work to keep busy and keep from thinking about things she doesn’t want to dwell on. Eventually, it resulted in what her life had turned into – a routine. After a few years, the routine made her life bearable and eventually, not as bad as she thought. She even genuinely started smiling again without having to fake the smile. Her work and the hospital were flourishing. She even started travelling out of the village to promote new practices and procedures and to promote her new idea of starting a Children’s Clinic for Psychological and Emotional Trauma.
She was also training regularly – sometimes by herself and at times her old teammate and best friend, Naruto, would join her, sometimes her other teammate Sai, and even her old sensei and Rokudaime, Kakashi. She would also go to Lee’s Dojo whenever she has energy enough to deal with his excited youthfulness.
She even made a conscious effort to start going out more. She had lunch and dinner with her old team regularly, at least as much as their busy schedules permit. Sometimes it would be all of them, other times, it would only be one or two. She also let her girlfriends and female coworkers drag her out for a night in town. She can honestly say that she was happy. Everything was going great. That is until “they” walked into her life.
She was about an hour into going over her patient’s charts on her bed when she started dozing off. Her head fell sideways on her pillow with the chart on her chest. She must’ve been more tired than usual since she started to snore lightly. She only snores whenever she’s sick or when she’s exhausted. Suddenly, there was a light rap on her door. Sakura didn’t rouse. After a few minutes, the rapping became louder. This jolted Sakura awake. Panic was evident on her face since she wasn’t expecting anyone at this hour, and no one dared to stop by unannounced unless there was an emergency at the hospital. She hurried to put on her robe and see who’s at the door. She stopped a few feet shy of her door and her knees buckled.
It can’t be. There’s no way it’s him.
However, there’s no mistaking it. There are two chakra signatures behind her door and one of them is faint and unfamiliar, but the other is as familiar to her as breathing. Her heart pounds in her chest. He knocks again but this time, he calls out to her in the familiar way he used to knowing she’s standing a few feet from him with only a wooden door between them. Not that it would’ve stopped him. The fact that he’s still standing behind it knocking and hasn’t forced his way in says a lot since he could’ve easily broken it down. There is a barrier ninjutsu in place that prevents anyone from entering except for members of her old Team 7 including her sensei. She forgot to alter the ninjutsu and remove his permission once he defected, so he could’ve passed through it and entered at any time.
“Sakura, please open the door,” the familiar voice pleads. His voice is a few octaves deeper, but she can recognize it anywhere even after not having heard it in years.
Sakura places her hand on the door, shaking. Sakura can’t believe it. Part of her feels that she’s not awake and that she’s dreaming since she’s dreamt this very thing happening many times before. However, the coolness of the metal knob in her hand and the loud thumping sound of her beating heart in her ears says otherwise. She opens the door but wasn’t prepared to see what she saw.
There he was, SASUKE UCHIHA, her old teammate, friend, once upon a time enemy, and her first and only love. He stares at her with a look that’s unfamiliar on his face – helpless pleading.
“S-Sasuke?” Sakura asks more for confirmation than anything else. She still doesn’t know what to think or feel. She’s too stunned to say anything else.
“Can we please come in?” Sasuke pleads.
For the first time, she notices the bundle with long, dark hair asleep in his arms. That’s why he couldn’t cross the barrier, it’s because of her. Sakura weaved the signs to undo the barrier. She steps aside and opens the door wider letting them through.
CH. 2
Sasuke sips his drink incognito under a dark hood in the back booth of a tavern in a foreign land.
He’s been working odd jobs from being a hired help to accompanying a fishing vessel out to sea for weeks sometimes months. He has been wandering from place to place ever since he arrived in the foreign country four years ago. He hasn’t quite found a place to settle down in that he feels he could make his home, so he stays until a better job finds him elsewhere. He’s learned the language enough to navigate and communicate with the locals. He’s also learned their customs and adjusted his style accordingly so as not to stand out. Although, it’s not so easy at times since the women tend to give him a lot of attention wherever he goes, hence, the purpose of the dark hood.
Sasuke Uchiha had always received a lot of attention from the opposite sex even when he was little. He thought it was annoying then and even more so now that he’s older except on a few occasions. They used to fawn over him and act giggly and would follow him everywhere he went so that he could never be alone even when he wanted to, and he so desperately wanted to be alone then. Well, there was one whom he didn’t mind being around. He used to look for her pink hair but that was a long time ago. Sometimes he wonders what she’s doing but shakes the thought off and places it back in its box, in the deep pit of his heart before it can take root. There’s no point in bringing up the past and it’s not going to do him any good. Plus, she’s better off. At least, that’s what he has convinced himself to make himself feel better.
At times, he would dream about her, not sure why but there she would be. Sometimes he would dream that he was back in the village with her or that she would be with him. Seems like they were sharing a life together. There were also times where he would dream about touching her or what it would feel like to touch her and explore every inch of her body, every curve. They would be so enraptured by each other and entwined together that it was hard to figure out where one started and the other ended. It felt a little too real and at times, not enough. When the loneliness and the longing would be too much for him, he would seek the company of other women, but it always ends the same, he always leaves before they wake and never stays with the same woman. He leaves with his body being fed for a brief time but for some reason he’s never satiated and there’s always a feeling that something’s missing. Plus, no matter how beautiful the woman nor how much pleasure she claims to give him, it’s always her face that he sees and only hers. He feels guilty but he lets them know that there will not be a second time, nor will there be anything more than what he is willing to give that night. Nothing more, nothing less. Most of the women are fine with the arrangements, though there have been a few tears. On one occasion, the woman had been married though to his defense, she did not disclose it until afterwards. He also always made sure to keep the ninjutsu that makes him sterile for a while lest he want a little Uchiha running around.
A little Uchiha or a few of them running around...yes, he’s even dreamt of them. A few mini-him running around yelling “Papa” and fighting amongst themselves. For some reason, it’s always the same, different dream, same number of children. Plus, these same children look the same in all of them with just the difference in ages in some of them – the eldest, a girl with black hair and dark eyes with glasses looks just like her father, the second, a boy with pink hair and green eyes, the third, another girl with dark features but she takes more from her mother, and the youngest, though one can’t really tell his features yet since he’s either a babe in his mother’s arms or still in his mother’s womb. Also, for some unknown reason, their mother was always her with her bright pink hair and bright green eyes. She’s never looked more beautiful than when she’s glowing and her belly round. The look of joy in her face as she’s surrounded by their rambunctious kids. His face reflects the joy she feels albeit on a much smaller scale. You could see contentment in his eyes. Those were the good times.
Other times, he would have nightmares of her getting hurt or dying, in the worst times, he would be the cause of it. There are also times when he would dream of nothing but them sitting together and talking. Not really about anything either and he always never remember the conversation but what is ingrained in his memory was her smile, laughter, and the way she calls him, “Sasuke-kun.” No matter what version of a dream he has, he would force himself awake to remind himself that none of it is real.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BACK AT SAKURA'S HOUSE...
She shuts the door and exhales before turning around to face her old teammate.
“Is there a place I can lay her down in?” Sasuke asks.
“Uh...in there,” Sakura points in her bedroom. She leads them to her bedroom and cleans the mess off her bed. She moves her patient’s charts onto her nightstand and turns down her comforter for Sasuke to lay the girl in. She finally sees the girl up close. She looks like a mini version of him. Sasuke lays the girl, removing her shoes and tucking her in. He moves the girl’s long dark hair out of her face and tucks it behind her ears. The girl looks about 4 or 5 years old. Sasuke was about to leave when the little girl reaches out for him and calls him, “Papa.”
He’s a lot taller than her now and his hair is no longer spiky, it’s flat on his face and his bangs swept to one side. Even though they’re only months apart, for some reason, he looks a bit older than her, more mature-looking and refined. He’s still as handsome as ever. His mature look really looks good on him.

Could I request Roguefort x reader who's the son of Almond Cookie? Like, Roguefort keeps going to places the reader is stationed to commit thefts so that they get to see him?
Of course!
Tumblr media
It was yet another late night of work. You were tired and just barely staying awake thanks to the coffee you picked up. You got stationed at a museum somewhere because of the new gem section.
It had Roguefort's name written all over it. Gems, jewels, it was all they loved and more. Little did you know, you were the 'more' part of that list.
They laid on their stomach on a rooftop nearby, kicking their feet, their cat on their shoulder. "What do you think, Lord Crumbles III? Isn't he gorgeous?" "Mow." "Oh, hush, you. You can't tell me YOU haven't found a queen or molly you like." "..." "That's what I thought.
Roguefort kept staring at you, enamored by your appearance. Your suit, your eyes, your...everything...it was far more valuable than any jewel or diamond they could ever find.
You were just...stunning to them. "ahhh....if anyone were to put me in handcuffs, I'd want it to be him...~" Roguefort yelped as Lord Crumbles III smacked the back of their head. "I was kidding!!...mostly."
Finally, Roguefort put on a disguise and headed down. They walked past you, struggling to hold back the urge to hold your hand as they passed. YOU WERE RIGHT THERE. HOW COULD THEY NOT-"Wait a second, sir?"
They froze. Shit. Was their disguise not convincing enough?
"Is that a cat? I'm afraid only service animals are allowed in." You apologized.
"Ah! Of course! Sincerely sorry! I forgot his, uhm...vest!" Roguefort said, snapping a finger and putting a vest on Lord Crumbles.
"Ah, understood." You nodded.
"Have a good night!" Roguefort smiled. You smiled back. "You too. Enjoy the new exhibit!"
They nodded, going inside and immediately hiding in the bathroom. "He smiled at me, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, he...HE SMILED AT ME!!" Roguefort's face was a bright red. "I'M the one who's supposed to steal hearts! Not HIM!"
Crumbles 'mrrp'd at Roguefort's seeming jealousy. "Oh, hush, you! He's never smiled at me before! This is AMAZING!!" They giggled.
After a while, they cooled off, heading back out. Making their way through the museum, they went to go do what they were known for.
Everything was a blur for them, they never paid attention to what happened on their heists typically. This time was different. Typically, the police stopped following them as soon as they got up to the roof.
Y/N Cookie, though...they followed Roguefort up. This got their face to heat up even more. They were already out of their disguise, so they didn't have to worry about this being a case of mistaken identity.
You saw them for who they were. Or...Who they appeared to be. That was one of the most romantic things Roguefort could possibly think of. They flinched a moment as you pulled out a spare pair of Almond Cookie's cuffs from behind your back. "Oh, come now...not even going to ask me out to dinner first, beautiful~?" They teased.
You flushed bright red. This, in, turn, caused Roguefort to go even brighter red, as it put unwanted images in their head. Not because they didn't want to have them, but rather now was an inopportune time for them to come up.
"While I would l-love to stay and chat~" They walked up to you, tilting your chin up with their cane, giving you a gentle kiss on the cheek. "I must now bid you Au revoir~!" They laughed, jumping off the side of the building, drifting off into the night.
You groaned, reporting that, yes, you lost them. Again. "Don't sweat it, son. They're slippery. You can just come on home." Almond sighed over the radio. "I'm proud of you for trying." You smiled at that, finally shutting it off and starting the walk home.
You trudged back to your apartment, feeling nothing but disappointment that you couldn't catch them AGAIN. You didn't understand why they kept coming specifically to YOU either.
You swore you felt something when they kissed your cheek, YOU SWEAR YOU DID, but you shook your head. You couldn't have. You couldn't have made it work.
Then you noticed something. They left you something in your pocket. A letter. "Dearest Y/N Cookie, if you're reading this, chances are that I've taken an interest in you. What kind, you can probably figure out on your own. Next time you see me, don't be afraid to say hello~ Dangerously yours, Roguefort 'Phantom Bleu' Cookie. ~♡"
As Roguefort landed in a dark alleyway somewhere, you remained in their thoughts. They touched you. They...they KISSED YOU. It caused their brain to go wild.
They rolled into their apartment through a window, depositing the night's spoils in their typical spot. Walking past walls with photos upon photos of you, Roguefort finally laid down on their bed with one thought in their mind.
"Y/N Cookie...I will find some way to make you mine."
Hope ya enjoy! This was a lot of fun! :D

Here's a rare gem for shameless promotion: The Likes of Us.
Having said that, let me immediately qualify it. It's not a gem because of the quality of the book or the score (they're, well, adequate). No, it's a gem because of the meta premise and the narrator. Allow me to explain.
You see, before writing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat together, Andrew Loyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote and pitched The Likes of Us, about Thomas Barnardo, who founded homes for poor children. It didn't sell, and they basically shoved it in a drawer and forgot about it (though ALW reused some of the melodies, most obviously turning "Love is Here" into "Travel Hopefully" in By Jeeves).
Here, have some booklet scans so I don't have to quote them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, the show was written in 1965, then had its "40th anniversary [performance] and yet world premiere" in 2005. ALW and Rice didn't really remember the plot and the book was constantly changing anyway, so the most brilliant possible choice was made: Stephen Fry was cast as a narrator.
Tumblr media
He does an absolutely wonderful job, turning what would otherwise be a cloying story with passable melodies into a delightfully funny evening. Honestly, it's tempting to just make this post nothing but quotes of his narration, but I couldn't find a transcript and there are limits to how much I want to transcribe jokes when I'm trying to get you to listen to the album anyway.
Okay, just a few:
"It's told in song, dance, and spoken word as was the unbreakable fashion in musical theater at the time."
"Neither traumatic event, however, inspired a song from the two youthful authors, who one might well think these days be extremely aroused by the idea of an anti-lawyer number."
"'Will this last forever,' a simply ravishing melody but a rather risky title about three quarters of the way through any musical."
"There was here a scorchingly satirical song, I believe, making fun of poncy peers and fancy knights of the realm, but for some reason Lord Webber and Sir Tim Rice seem to have lost it."
youtube
Aside from the quips, my favorite of the actual songs is Going Going Gone, because I always love a good ensemble number listing stuff. (See also: "Under the Sea," "La Vie Boheme," "Murder, Murder," etc) (That, and the musical doesn't build up the romance enough to make the ballads affecting.)
youtube
Of contemporary interest, Hannah Waddingham played Rose, the cockney woman offended by Bernardo's attitude about her neighborhood. So if you want to hear her singing something a little, uh, different from what you usually hear from her, you can listen to "We'll Get Him" and "Have Another Cup of Tea." (This was a year before she was cast in the West End Spamalot.)
Anyway, you can find a few clips from local productions on Youtube, but the real joy is Stephen Fry so you may as well just listen to the soundtrack on Spotify or something. I particularly recommend it for when you have a boring task to do (data entry?) and need something to keep you entertained without working up your passions or giving you a new hyperfixation.
Last quote: "And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what failed to launch the careers of Andrew Loyd Webber and Tim Rice 40 years ago."

Gem, my darling! Hello! It's so nice to hear from you. And I know high school is hard, girl I've been there, done that.
7) Least favorite piece you've ever written?
Least favorite piece I've ever written...I love all of my fics that I've posted on AO3, so it's none of them. I think the least favorite piece I've ever written was a prompt that my friend sent me for a fandom that I wasn't in (it was for a bet that we had. If one of us reached a follower milestone first, the winner had to give the loser a prompt/fandom that they weren't in and the loser had to write a fic for the fandom) (I of course won first but in good spirits I let her give me a fandom that I wasn't in so that it would be fair). It was bad. I didn't know the characters/characterization, I used an old fic outline and just sort of replaced the characters with the characters from the fandom...not good. I think I deleted it on my laptop and I don't think I can find the fic in all of my post because I didn't tag it as I didn't want it to show up in the fandom tag and get fucking roasted.
20)
Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
Trope that I've yet to try my hand at...honestly, I think I've tried a lot of tropes, especially with Killer and Healer. I don't know what other trope there is out there to try
Is there an episode (of killer and healer, devil judge, under the skin, etc,) that inspired you just a little bit more to create something What piece did you create from it?
Okay...so (this is gonna get long so it's going under the cut)
Killer and Healer:
It's a Date - inspired by ep. 19/20 where Jiang Yuelou suggests he and Chen Yuzhi go horseback riding
Let Me Take Care of You - inspired by ep. 12 deleted scene
It All Started With a Hug - inspired by ep. 26
Countryside Sunset - inspired by the episode that shall not be named
Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away - inspired again by the episode that shall not be named
恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer - inspired by the episode that shall not be named and the whole series, honestly
The Devil Judge
Take a Bullet for You - inspired by the episode where K dies (I can't remember the episode)
His - inspired by the episode where Gaon used himself as a shield to protect Yohan from the bomb blast in his office
I'm Not Going Anywhere - inspired by the episode where Gaon had a break down in the prison yard after realizing that the man in prison wasn't Do Youngchoon
Love You Unconditionally - inspired by the episode where Gaon had a break down in the prison yard after realizing that the man in prison wasn't Do Youngchoon
Home - inspired by the episode where Soohyun and Elijah have their girls day out and then Soonhyun leaves Elijah in the car to deal with Jukchang
Kim Gaon Is Mine - inspired by the episode where Gaon and Yohan go to that gala
I've Got You - inspired by the episode where Gaon had a break down in the prison yard after realizing that the man in prison wasn't Do Youngchoon
No More Nightmares - inspired by the episode where Gaon dreams of getting revenge for his parents and killing Do Youngchoon
Look After You - inspired by the episode after Soohyun dies and Yohan, Gaon, and Elijah go to visit her grave
Under the Skin
Sink or Swim - inspired by the episode where Du Cheng stops Shen Yi from jumping into the ocean to try and restart his memories of the woman in red
S.C.I.
Guess We're Parents Now? - inspired by the episode where Bai Yutong and Zhan Yao have to take care of the baby
Anyways, those are all of the fics that I can think of that was inspired by an episode of some sort.
I look forward to reading your comments, I really hope you like the fics (I have posted so many since you last commented). And isn't HIGH & LOW: THE WORST X so good? My god, I don't know how many times I've rewatched it like holy shit.
Thank you about my banner! My baby @httpsbas made it for me, along with two other banners as a birthday/1K followers present. I love them all so much, she did such a good job. And doesn't it just match perfectly with my icon? I was quite proud of myself for that, not gonna lie.
But I'm super happy to hear from you! Good luck in school! Keep your chin up!

Deep-fried pork cutlet, aka tonkatsu, was one of the food trends that took hold in Meiji and Taisho times. Fanbook #1 tells us Mitsuri was a big fan, so I knew I had to try making it at some point. With cherry blossoms being so brief, the time was now.
Tumblr media
Unlike my last Kimetsu Kitchen experiment with fried food, this one turned out to be a huge success✨🌸💕😻😍💓💖✴️💐
First off, I rarely eat katsu.
Ever since I was little, I have never been able to stand big chunks, or even tiny chunks of fat on my meat, and katsu is usually made with cuts that have huge chunks of fat all down at least one side and all around the edges. Rather than trying to explain to people that I enjoy meat but only the very lean parts of meat and this cut's okay but that one's not, I usually just ask for something else entirely so as not to cause a fuss. But, if I'm the one cooking, I trim off as much fat as I want! Bwahaha! However, for the usual approach to tonkatsu, it's recommended that you just cut some slits in the meet when you tenderize it.
I wound up being very pressed for time on this bentou, so I did my prep on the meat the day before and used the excess meat in an earlier meal so as not to be too wasteful. I also tenderized my meat in advance. If you do not have a meat tenderizer (a mallet with this specific purpose to pound raw meat and terrorize its tough proteins into tender submission), you can also use a rolling pin.
A rolling pin? I don’t cook, what makes you think I bake? I don’t have a rolling pin.
Well then.
Meat, meet Mitsuri.
Tumblr media
...Meat-suri.
I found it pretty easy to flatten them and make them easy to cut as I pleased. They were very cooperative. ^_^
The following morning, I knew I was likely to get stressed trying out a new recipe, especially one with deep frying a raw meat, so I prepped most of the rest of my bentou first, cleaned up my work station, got my self organized, had my instructions written on paper and a clear image in my mind of what steps I would take, and then went for it.
The steps:
1. With the non-dominant hand, coat the cutlet in flour, tap off the excess.
2. With the same hand, dip in beaten egg.
3. With the same hand, transfer it to the panko (breadcrumbs). Use the clean handy to bury it in panko.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to give it a second coat.
5. Let rest for 10 minutes (while you clean up and prep the oil).
Tumblr media
"Senpai!" you might be shouting, "What is wrong with your egg??"
Let's pause here to talk a bit about the ingredients. I decided to go with the fancy brand name eggs because I was like, sure, why not keep the Haikara theme. Specifically, "Akadama Bijin, Haikara-san," the name of a small local Kyoto brand, but there are other brands producing the same type of fancy Noko (or Noukou, if you prefer) egg, with reddish-orange yolks. To display the difference, here's my breakfast yesterday:
Tumblr media
Noko eggs are talked up for how they have deeper flavor and are more nutritious, and try as I might to see if they actually have Taisho ties (given the Haikara reference), I could find no history of when these eggs started being produced (but I found out that eggs were only used as offerings for centuries but Japanese commoners only started eating them in the Edo period, so that's interesting). The true is, there's not actually much nutritional difference. It's simply that instead of a diet based on yellow food like corn, the chickens eat redder foods like carrots and paprika.
So, "Akadama" is like red yolk/gem/soul/whatever-pun-it-lends-itself-to-for-being-written-in-hiragana, and "bijin" is "a beauty" so they might be using marketing tactics to imply that supposedly extra nutritious Noko eggs will make you beauty. It just so happens my panko brand is called Karatto Bijin, so like... I can't help but think, "Don't buy into all this marketing, Mitsuri-chan! You're beautiful just the way you are!!"
So anyway, I followed the above steps, but forgot a secret ingredient I meant to add to the panko. I still had dried plum (ume) chips from the Daki onigiri in this Upper Moon Six bentou!! Since I don’t care for super heavy oily flavors, I thought the tartness might be nice. I added them during the resting phase to one of the cutlets. I turned out to be right that a slight bit of tartness was a very nice touch, but they burned easily.
Hmm, I guess that's in-character.
Tumblr media
So anyway. I took a Total Concentration Breath and began the frying process.
Once again, I found it very difficult to maintain the oil temperature, especially on my not-very-good gas stove. Partway through my food thermometer began untrustworthy, so I had to go by color advice on the recipe I was following.
First dip:
160-170 C oil, until it becomes light "kitsune-iro" (fox color... but, uh, which foxes are we using as a base for this? And how long will this take? Come back here, recipe, help me! Since I'm a coward, I probably gave it longer than it needed, 1-3 minutes, didn't time it, I was watching the color and yelling at my food thermometer to work)
After the first dip, let it rest and drain. (Me, being a coward, made a tiny cut to check that it was cooked through, which it was.)
Second dip:
180 C oil. Only needs 20 to 40 seconds (thanks, recipe) to reach a "nice foxy color." O... kayyyy...
Anyway.
THEY CAME OUT AMAZING. These things tasted like good chicken nuggets. Phenomenal. Absolutely recommend.
And more than that, I was so happy they retained such a nice heart shape, because they went into the cutest, prettiest bentou I ever made!! I was fangirling so hard for it all morning!!! I am so proud of myself!!!!!
Oh? You want to see the bentou? Fu fu fu, that shall come in a different post.
To conclude the recipe story, after completing the bentou prep I freaked out about how I left very, very little time to make myself into any sort of bijin and I continued to run around like someone in the last 30 seconds of a televised cooking competition.

This is an LJ x OC? Of mine that I decided to post. I have others that I've written, they never take me too long, but I'd like to see how it fares on tumblr, it's from my wattpqd book, "Creepypasta 18+" please enjoy!

12 am.
1am.
2am.
3am.
Ugh! I shot up from bed, unable to sleep with the giggling fool in my living room. I could hear his goofy laughs and the crinkling of something like paper from down the hall, my apartment unable to muffle the sounds of shenanigans from a clown.
Yes a clown.
An annoying one at that.
He knows i have to work, and he knows when to be quiet, and yet, there he is, probably laughing at my baby album or some movie I left out, or maybe even his own loud and obnoxious thoughts.
One can only imagine the things he thinks of, always catching me off guard by saying something like, "and that's just like this one time I fell from the second floor! I broke my neck." Straight faced the whole time. Comedy genius.
I lashed in my duvet, throwing it off and doing likewise to my bedroom door. The silly sign saying, 'go sleep' adding salt to the wound as it swung open and slammed into the wall, alerting the man, thing, whatever in my front room to the fact that I was not asleep and very mad.
All of his relentless noise making had ceased, the house falling silent save for my pounding footfalls on the shag carpet spanning to the kitchen entrance, turning into soft padding of my socks on hardwood floor.
Good. He's scared.
"Jack. Enough." I was fuming. I tried to keep my voice level with him, as yelling only seemed to make us both agitated, and him scared to talk to me. I placed my hands on my hips, like my mother used to.
Something I'd come to know from experience with the supposedly 'evil' entity is that an over aggressive hand would only be bitten. He wouldn't listen to yelling or mindless punishment, there had to be an incentive, like telling him my concerns or how he made me feel. I don't like yelling at him anyways, he could easily kill me if I said something remotely out of turn and I never wanted to make him hate me.
He was like a child, but he was my clown all the same.
"Please say something. I'm not mad at you, I know you didn't mean to be so loud. So don't look so upset," I'm not one with words, but I do know what he needs to hear if he feels threatened. He was still just staring at me, a smirk on his lips and his eyes full of surprise, like glittery black gems in the light from the fireplace. The only reason I ever ran it was because he was constantly in a state of freezing me with his skin in this cold spell. It helped when we cuddled on my couch under a nice toasty blanket, usually turning a little too heated with our touching and groping.
He finally stood up, a welcome interruption from the thought of me making him uncomfortable from just standing there. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up. I'll be quiet, I promise," he almost seemed bashful, or embarrassed, but I knew he was just the awkward entity I fell in love with three whole years ago.
My eyes widened. Exactly three years ago. Today was December 15, our three year anniversary, the calendar on the fridge telling me so.
No work.
No distractions.
Just him and me.
I can't believe I'd forgotten our anniversary, after making a promise to make him pancakes and my mother's recipe for ambrosia salad. He loved my mother like his own, and the feeling was mutual. With her constantly checking up on him and asking him to take her places, to even going on power walks every couple of days so she could show him off to her friends at the coffee shop. Her genius daughters fiance who she loved like a son, so lucky of me to find someone so handsome and charming. A real prince character around them, more like a spoiled dog for me.
He came closer, resting his chin of my head as he caged me in with his lanky arms.
"You forgot again, huh?" a rhetorical question answered by me slightly nodding my head, his chin scratching the top of my head. I backed away and placed a peck on the tip of his button of a nose. "Sorry, I always do. I even wrote it on the fridge! It might just be my tired little poo brain," I lamented, I really was sorry, like the other times before. I could remember his birthday, his favorite color, his favorite foods, how he confessed, where we met, even how the weather was that day.
Jack and I stood in the middle of my living room, holding each other and inhaling the others familiar scent. Peppermint and pine trees. A heavenly combination.
"Hey, Siyun?" Jack released me, holding me by the shoulders, "I made you something." He let go and sat back down cross legged in the spot I found him in. Next to him was a small box, wrapped in brown paper, and a little blue ribbon tied across it. I joined him on the floor, and he placed it in front of my crossed legs. I gently opened it, not wanting to ruin the work I know he had done to wrap it so nicely, and gasped at what was inside.
It was a ring. Beautiful gold band with a single diamond embedded into it. Tears welled in my eyes as I slipped it out of the velvet it was stuffed in. I noticed what was engraved on the inside of the band, 'ngọt hơn kẹo,' which meant 'sweeter than candy,' in Vietnamese. One of the first things I'd taught him after he'd met my family. Of course he'd had a hard time picking up on the pronunciation and inflection of my language to even say, "hello" or "goodbye," it was so sweet every time he practiced as we laid in bed together late at night.
It's safe to say I was feeling a little emotional from this. I knew it was coming, I just didn't know so soon. Considering how I'd found out his actual job last year, him finally confessing to being a supernatural being and murderer, saying he had put it behind him and me spending an incredibly long time avoiding him and being uncomfortable around him. After I'd finally wrapped my head around why he did it, and accepting that he'd changed, we'd re-entered our honeymoon phase of the relationship, not being able to get enough of each other after the long break, doing the horizontal (and sometimes vertical) dance all over my apartment and even in my parents house when we house sat. Once opting to f*ck in a Wendy's bathroom instead of keeping our hands to ourselves and going home. That was uncomfortable.
I put that ring right on my ring finger, a smile on my lips and tears in my eyes as I lunged for Jack. I placed kisses all along his jaw leading to his cheeks and forehead and finally giving a deep kiss to his lips. He was grinning ear to ear when I ceased the action.
"Jack, I'll spend the rest of my life with you! Until diapers! And mental deterioration!" I was on a happy high, the serotonin rushing to my brain and spreading to my body, leaving me breathless and buzzing.
"Me too, Siyun, I want to marry you. Whether it be spiritually or on paper, I don't care! Lets get married, my pfefferminz!" He brought me back in for teeth gnashing kiss, the clack making my head vibrate. I was dizzy.
"Okay, candyman, how about we spend our anniversary like last year?" I made the suggestion, knowing full well I would be cuddling with him until 7 am and then f*ck all over our room until either hunger or sleep came over us.
And so we did.
--
"Ah! Oh God Jacky!" I ground on his c*ck as he thrust up into me, a light slapping sound emanating from our bedroom.
Tried and true I had awoken at around 7:45 am and cuddled into him as the sun rose through the cold morning. My leg over his hips had told me about his raging hard-on poking the underside of my knee. Every shift had him groaning in his sleep. So, I decided to take care of it. I was wet enough that it wouldn't hurt to slide onto him, and theory proved correct as I slid to the hilt. He woke up with a jolt, accidentally thrusting up into me, earning a gasp and a whimper from my groggy self. He knew exactly what was happening. Things heated up as I ground down onto him, the 7" he offered leaving nothing untouched inside me.
He snapped his hips up harder and harder, not giving me a second to ground myself as I was bounced up and down with each movement. My hands went to his shoulders as he re-positioned himself to sit up with me in his lap, the mutual pleasure spiking as we ground into each other.
"A-Ahn! Oh f*ck, Jack- too m-much!" My vision was getting blurry and My back arched from how his tip kissed my cervix, it seemingly sucking him in even deeper, beckoning him to go deeper inside me, to milk him dry. "Mmmfff*ck," it was too much, and that was made clear as my body went completely limp, the org*sm ripping through me, causing me to tense and release as I came hard on his thick c*ck.
He didn't stop.
In fact, he did more damage.
His thumb brought itself to my cl*t and he rubbed it roughly, his c*ck still pounding into me. "Nngh, Siyu! Baby give me one more, please, c*m for me one more time honey, please peppermint I know you can do it," he was praising me while rubbing my puffy cl*t, easing me into the over stimulation I was feeling. So I did as told.
I came the second time this morning, hard.
It was overpowering as I trembled and twitched, no sound released except the strangled cry from my lips, "Uuuu- guh! Aaaaaahhhn!"
My p*ssy ached, cl*t rubbed raw and insides fully stretched. But he didn't stop.
He picked the pace back up slowly, easing in and out of my dripping c*nt, my c*m acting as an extra lubricant for him to abuse my hole.
He laid me on my back, missionary style, and threw one leg over his shoulder. He pumped in and out twice, them slammed back inside, rough handling my cervix with the tip of his hard c*ck. It was bliss, I was c*ck drunk and practically begging for more.
He delivered.
He was f*cking into me like an animal, each snap of his hips burying his d*ck deeper, his pubic bone digging into my pearl and causing me to see stars and birds. "Mmmh hah, oh f*ck, Jack, please, I can't!" I pleaded with him to stop, even though I truly didn't want him to, I wanted him to keep f*cking me until I was full. I wanted to be stuffed and satisfied, leave me limping for days, his c*m dripping out of me.
My wish was granted as he gave one last thrust, spilling his hot seed directly into me, the feeling was bliss, like a heat pack on my lower stomach, or a swig of whiskey. I came for the third time this morning, tensing as I reached for him, clinging to his neck and raking my nails on his shoulders.
"M- nn," He gave a couple grunts, erratic thrusts, and a love bite to my inner thigh. I felt a searing heat enter me, and he thrust hard, like trying push it deeper inside me.
We laid there panting and breathless, coming down from the high of s*x. "I love you, Siyun Le," he gasped out between breaths, draping an arm across my torso, my shirt ridden up to my chest. I shivered at the warmth of his touch, but still managed to scoot over so I was cuddled up in the crook of his neck. I smiled, "I love you too, loving Jack Le."

Cold. That was the first thing that Olivia’s brain processed.
Still with her eyes closed, she buried herself more into the duvet, while her arm blindly reached for the furnace in human form that she calls boyfriend. However, as soon as her arm was only met with cold sheets, her eyes shot open.
Blinking the sleep away, she sat up on the bed, searching for the infamous red clock resting on Ashton’s bedside table that was supposed to look like a vintage alarm clock. Olivia had ordered it online at an auction website a couple of years back, as a gift for his 23rd birthday, since it was something he had mentioned multiple times prior that he was looking for, but still hadn't found. But when it finally came in (two weeks after the due date), it looked nothing like the picture she saw on the website. Feeling beyond frustrated, she wanted to send it back immediately and ask for a refund and maybe leave a not so polite review on the seller's page. But Ashton stopped her right away, laughing like the situation was absolutely hilarious to him, while saying, 'I like it, it’s quirky'. So, the clock stayed and found a home right next to him in their room.
Some days, however, she would wake up at some ungodly hour because of the blaring noise of the only ringtone the clock had. But whatever annoyance she could feel towards the object, it always vanished as soon as she felt Ashton's lips gently touching her face in a good morning kiss before he would get up to start his day, leaving her to catch some more hours of well deserved sleep.
As the furthest from a morning person as a touring musician could possibly be, Olivia had always feared that living under the same roof as Ashton would turn her into an early bird like him, but she's thankful that it never happened (not that he needs to know about that).
When she sees the red clock, she smiles at the sudden but welcome memories of them flooding her foggy brain, but frowns slightly when she realizes it reads 12:13 pm. Ashton rarely lets her sleep past 10 am.
Gathering all her strength and will, she rises up from the bed, smoothly picking up a grey wool sweatshirt from the chair (way too baggy on her slim body, but it smells like him), pulling it over her head and relishing on the soft material warming up her body. Making her way to the door and calmly going down the stairs, she can’t help but stop for a minute to admire the picture frames on their walls, one in particular catches her attention – probably one of the most prized pictures and memories they had. It felt older than it actually is, but it was around 4 years ago, she's sure – a little while after the two of them met. The picture was of their group of friends that still remains the same: Ashton and his best friend, Luke; Olivia, her best friend, Calum and their old hometown friend, turned into Calum’s new friend at college, turned into everyone’s friend, Michael; and her then newly band members, Suki, Eli and Ravi. Together, their group was the life of the party through all their college years, and it showed by the big smiles and drinks in hands they all had in the picture. It was a very special night, the first time Olivia’s little band played for the public – for a small audience sure, but it was a wonderful night nonetheless. What a long road it had been since that night.
Her nostalgic thoughts were interrupted by a shiver that went through her whole body, and it made her realize how oddly cold the whole house was, not only their bedroom. Which, granted, it was November in New York and the weather was just getting colder, but that’s exactly why Ashton always made sure to keep the house warm enough. As much as she loved the chilly season, the warm weather always reminded him of his hometown, and who was she to deny him that?
The smell of fresh made coffee could be sensed even before she reached the kitchen. Arriving there, the curly haired woman still found no signs of her boyfriend, so she went straight after the coffee maker pot sitting on the far left corner of the cream marble counter. Smiling softly at the tons of memories of Ashton's sleepy figure making their favorite beverage, she reached for a coffee mug on the cupboard on top of the counter and poured the remainder of the hot liquid on it (it's her favorite mug, if she must choose – it was a gift from a fan, and it had printed on it a collage of the pictures of her and Ashton that were posted on social media through their first year of relationship).
Moving to the glass doors that lead to the mini garden they cultivate, she didn't have to open them to spot the 6-feet-tall man sitting on a bench outside, looking oddly small in his oversized clothes, coffee mug tightly held between strong hands. Something about his figure made Olivia frown, however: he was staring with an unwavering look at her small but eye-catching pot of yellow daffodils that were almost as much of a pet to them as Stitch at this point. Sensing that there’s something definitely off about his semblance, she made a mental note to talk to him and find out what’s wrong later. So she goes back to the kitchen, knowing that he might need this quiet and private moment for himself.
She lost count of the minutes that went by (couldn't have been more than five) before she hears the garden's door opening and closing, and then his bare feet are dragging his brawny body to her. Except, he goes over to the sink, walking right through her, not showing any sign that he even saw her hunched figure over the counter table in the middle of the room.
Alright, someone's in a mood.
Olivia tries to swallow the annoyance already bubbling inside her – he knows how much she hates to be ignored, no matter how mad he might be – by trying to think of what she can say that won't piss him off. This is always a hard feat to accomplish when Ashton gets in these moods, but there’s a reason for them to work so well together.
“I missed my favorite body heater when I woke up,” she says in her best sweet voice, knowing how quickly his resolve crumbles when he hears that voice.
Still, no reaction.
That settles a worry at the pit of her stomach, because Ashton is never like this. Even when he's not in the mood to talk, he always gives some kind of reaction to her words; it doesn't matter how small, just enough to make her feel acknowledged.
When he's finished washing his mug and the few scattered dishes across the sink – she noticed that he already had lunch, if the lone plate in the drying rack is anything to go by –, he dries his hand in a towel, turns around and throws it on top of the same counter Olivia was leaning up against. Once again, he walks away not even sparing her a look.
Indignant, she leaves the now empty coffee mug on top of the table and follows him as he walks up the stairs, any determination to not aggravate his mood now well gone.
“Hey! In case you didn't notice, I'm right here. Whatever got you in this sour mood, I'm certainly not to blame, so can you stop being a child now and talk to me?!”
Ashton just keeps walking – more like sluggishly dragging his body – until he reaches their bedroom and suddenly stops just merely two feet inside the room, looking around with vacant eyes; like he was expecting to see something that wasn't there.
“Okay, that's really mature of you. Are you planning on ignoring me all day then?” Olivia questions exasperated, staring angrily at the back of his neck, where the condor tattoo lives – her favorite of his, but that sight doesn't bring her any peace today like it usually does.
Her glare only breaks when she hears the familiar sound of dog tags swaying on her right side. Shifting her gaze to the direction of the sound, Olivia notices Stitch, their small, black & white French bulldog – who she thought was outside in the garden – slowly trudging his way from around the bed until he stops at Ashton's feet, looking up at one of his humans with sad eyes. That realization only makes the worry in her stomach grow uncomfortably.
“Hi buddy,” Ashton's voice cracks a bit from the lack of use, but he smiles softly at the sweet dog, and crouches down to pet him.
Olivia can't help but gasp as she notices three things all at once that leave her overwhelmed: first, how she didn't even notice Stitch was in the room when she woke up – which never ever happens, in fact, most days he wakes her up whenever he deems her bedtime as finished and can't ever contain his excitement when she finally gets up; second, how the windows blinds are closed, which, again, rarely occurs under their roof, not if Ashton can help it. And third, how sad and melancholic the whole scene in front of her is – how sad and melancholic Ashton is. Pointless to say by now – that's also a very rare occasion.
A chill creeps up Olivia's spine, putting her body into high alert and also serving as a reminder of how everything looks out of place today. Trying to keep her head from spiraling down way too soon, she wraps her arms around herself and crouches down beside her two favorite boys, trying once more.
“Ash? Can you hear me?” even with her throat closing, she softly asks, purposefully putting her face in Ashton's point of view. Her only answer is the low whispers he's letting out to Stitch, while cradling the tiny dog in his arms, spreading gentle kisses on his head.
“I know, bud, I know. I miss her too,” is the only whisper she could understand and immediately wishes she hadn't. The weak wail that comes from Stitch's throat seems to fit perfectly with how the three of them feel.
Ashton then looks up and for a couple of seconds, and Olivia can swear he’s staring right into her eyes. But when he shows no reaction, she knows he’s just staring ahead and not at her, with that look that says there’s too much going on inside his head. She feels the urge to embrace him and get him to talk about whatever is on his mind, so they can share that weight like they always do, but when Ashton gets up from the ground and settles on the bed with Stitch, Olivia can physically feel the crack in her heart caused by the feeling she’s left with.
While Ashton is pulling the duvet over him and the dog, with clearly no intentions of getting up anytime soon, Olivia stands up on her feet with a new-found determination – she needs to figure out what the hell is going on.
This nightmare had to be just that, right? Nothing but a very vivid dream – she's had those before. Scary sure, but they always go away, and soon enough she's back into Ashton's arms, with Stitch jumping on the bed ready to lick their faces off. She just needs to wake herself up from whatever fucked up dream this is – right?
She's running down the stairs this time, frantically in search of something, of what exactly, she doesn’t know – but she knows she needs an answer. The more she looks for something, the more desperate she gets, not knowing what to look for. Then suddenly, something catches her eyes.
The white and blue calendar that's held up by magnets on the side of the fridge. She knows their calendar is red and yellow. They got it from their favorite flower market. Slowly, as if scared of what it might be there – “It's just a calendar, for fucks sake” – she approaches the damn thing. Upon inspection, she deems it as a normal calendar – she really doesn't know what she was expecting – until.
She knows what's wrong with it now.
It's November. She knows it, because the Asian and last leg of her first world tour is about to begin November 21st, eleven days from today. Right after Mike's birthday, she knows this.
Then why does the calendar say today is January 14th?
☆ ☆ ☆
Ashton woke up with a jolt. He quickly sat up, frightening the little Frenchie that was asleep right next to him on the bed. Trying to make sense of his surroundings, he roughly rubbed his face to get some sleep off of it and soon reached for the dog that was staring at him with sleepy but sad eyes. Ashton is sure Stitch understands far more than a dog is supposed to understand about their current situation.
The room is covered in shadows, almost pitch black, but he can see the sunlight even through the thick dark grey blinds covering up the windows. Ashton knows he won't be able to sleep again at that moment, so he gets up from the bed – much slower than he used to. His heartbeat is still out of control because of the nightmare that woke him up, but he can't bother to pay attention to it when Stitch is softly wailing beside him. Ashton lets out a ghost of a smile when the dog rests his head on his right upper thigh, looking up at him with an expression Ashton knows all too well.
“C'mon you little ravenous creature, let's feed you,” the bulldog excitedly jumps to the ground, already running his way down the stairs, not even waiting for Ashton to get up.
That gets a real smile out of him, but it vanishes as soon as he glances at the alarm clock on his bedside table. It reads 5:13 am, nothing out of the ordinary for him. But that small and inoffensive clock, with its red paint peeling off, holds a lot of memories for him. Memories that two months ago would bring joy to his heart, but now he almost wants to throw the object across the room.
It was a stupid thing, really. He had been wanting a vintage alarm clock and Olivia got one for his birthday. But the product they received was definitely not the one she bought, and if he's being honest, he didn't like it as much as he made out to. But seeing her so excited in the weeks before it arrived, and how disappointed she was when it did, he couldn't help but try his best to make her smile that luminous smile again. It's part of his nature by now.
That's also the reason why he lets her think that he doesn't notice when she wakes up at some ungodly hour (her words, not his) along with him, because of the annoying and only sound the alarm clock is able to produce. He always leaves soft kisses in every inch of bare skin he can find on her sleeping figure, so she goes back to the dream land and doesn't wake up before 10 am. No one wants to deal with that kind of bad humor, not even him.
As much as he likes being a morning person and absolutely enjoys her company in the mornings, he knows she'll take any and every extra hour of sleep she can get before starting the day. And that's why he loves that she's so stubborn that his early bird tendencies never got to her – he knows she feared that this would happen when they moved in together, but he met her like this, fell for her like this. He wouldn't change a single thing about her.
Ashton drags himself out of the bed, wincing slightly at how cold the wooden floors are under his bare feet. He doesn't bother putting some socks on, or a sweater – the cold weather in the house is uncharacteristically comforting to him. Nothing feels warm without her anyway.
While descending the stairs, he mentally curses himself for not being strong enough to look past the picture frames on the wall. One in particular catches his eyes – a picture from the night of Olivia's first concert with her band. The memories of that night are still painfully vivid in his mind: the laughter among their group that eventually infected everyone at the pub, Suki and Luke's first kiss and the silly smile that didn't leave his best friend's face all night, the standing ovation Olivia got after her three-songs set, and her captivating and breathtaking smile that made him realize right then and there, while watching her sway to the music, that he was definitely falling in love with her and there was nothing he could do to stop it – not that he wanted to.
So many memories held up on that wall, in the relatively short time since they met, that he can't help but wonder if that's all they'll get in this lifetime.
Ashton is abruptly taken out of his thoughts by Stitch's barks coming from the bottom of the stairs. He quickly jogs down the few steps left and goes straight after the dog's food in the kitchen's cabinet. After Stitch starts to happily devour his breakfast, Ashton goes to make his coffee, doing enough for two people like he always does, since Calum drops by most days for a chat or to drop Duke before going to work. Although all three of them know he just can't bother to make food for himself in the morning, while Ashton is the group's elected chef. Ashton always says he just needs a boyfriend – Olivia says Calum already has one who makes him breakfast every day.
He grabs an apple from the fridge and makes his way outside to their garden. Even though a lot of their memories took place there, the garden is the only space in the house where he doesn't feel like suffocating all the time. At least here, he can breathe some fresh air and look at the sky when he's feeling overwhelmed – which is basically all he's been doing for about a month now.
Yet, a lot of the garden has Olivia's name written all over.
He remembers vividly the day she came home after spending two weeks in LA doing some pocket shows, with a pack of daffodil seeds and the largest smile. She excitedly told him that a friend gifted it to her when she mentioned the little garden they were planning to build together at their new house. The friend told Olivia that daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings, so as the good lover of symbolism that she is, Olivia loved the idea of having those flowers to symbolize their new beginning.
Ashton, on the other hand, wasn't a fan of the flowers at first – he just didn't see the appeal to them. But nonetheless, he indulged her, letting Olivia plant the seeds near the bench they used to sit during the quiet and unrushed afternoons, so they could admire the sunset, and she could happily look at the daffodils.
Pointless to say – the damn flowers grew on him.
Now, however, looking at them without Olivia and her contagious joy next to him, they were back to be as dull as they were before, if not more so.
Still lost inside his head without any sense of how much time went by since he sat down, Ashton doesn't hear the front door closing, and doesn't notice that he's no longer the only person inside the house until someone sits next to him on the bench. Yet, he doesn't show any sign of acknowledgement to them.
A few minutes go by before either of them speaks up.
“Luke said you didn't go to see her yesterday,” Calum starts softly, not wanting to disturb the calmness of the morning.
Ashton takes a few seconds to respond, “No point in doing that.” The black haired man licks his lips while thinking carefully about his next words.
“You know staying inside this house all day by yourself won't help either,” Calum turns his head to his left and takes a good look at Ashton's uncharacteristically hunched over figure, and immediately thinks that anyone can tell this man is not himself anymore. His second thought is that Olivia would hate seeing him like this.
“And what exactly do you expect me to do? Move on with my life like nothing happened? Like I'm not slowly and painfully losing the love of my life? Just because it’s easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for me.”
Calum closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He knows Ashton doesn't mean it, it's the anger and frustration talking. He knows it. Doesn't make it sting any less.
“I'm not telling you to move on with your life, because that's far from what I'm doing, and I certainly don't expect you to do it. I'm just saying you need to occupy your mind or else–”
“I'll go insane? Think it's a bit too late for that,” Ashton interrupts with a bitter tone that doesn't belong to his usual chirpy voice.
“You know it's not,” Calum sighs and drinks the rest of his coffee, moving his body slightly, so he's facing the blonde man, “I got a job interview for you at that school you talked about so much last summer, the principal said you can go any day this week. I went ahead and sent her your resume as well as explained everything that she needs to know about Olivia, so you don't have to. You just gotta put on some decent clothes and show up.” he sees Ashton's face softening a little and takes it as a victory. A few beats go by and then, “Maybe take a shower too. That's gonna make you feel better.” Calum leans in closer to his friend's personal space and takes a sniff, causing Ashton to deflect from him slightly, but not to push him away – another small win.
“Definitely take a shower, you stink. When was the last time your hair saw shampoo?”
“Fuck off,” is Ashton's only reply to the younger man's inquest. But Calum can see a smile creeping up on the blonde's face, which brings out a smile of his own.
“I'll send you all the details later today,” he checks the hour on the watch on his wrist and gets up, “Just please, Ash, go. I can't lose you too.”
Calum gently lays a hand on Ashton's shoulder and squeezes a little. The man doesn't look up, but gives a curt nod to his friend, who's satisfied enough. Calum stops on the threshold of the garden glass doors to give some kisses to Stitch – who came to make Ashton company as soon as he finished his food –, and then he puts the coffee mug on the dishwater. And soon enough, he's on his way out of the door. But not before snatching a tangerine from the fridge.
Ashton is left by himself once again. As he hears the sound of the front door closing, he thinks that this might be his life from now on. Just him and Stitch, trying their hardest to make it through another miserable day without the love of their lives. While everyone else comes by just to make sure he's still breathing. Breathing, maybe, but alive?
Swallowing the tears, he looks up at the sky. It's a deep, beautiful mix of orange, pink and blue, but he knows that it won't last long and soon the rain will be pouring down. He thinks about how much Olivia loves the rain.
God, he needs to pull himself together. She would hate to see him like this. Maybe he should take Calum's offer after all, he really needs to occupy his mind.
Making a mental note to thank Calum later, and also to apologize for how rude he was to him this morning, Ashton slowly gets up from the bench to put his mug on the sink and makes his way to the living room, with the small dog loyally following his every step. He puts on some cartoon that for once doesn't remind him of her (she always lovingly made fun of him for still watching those) and cuddles with Stitch on the couch. He can take a shower later.
Not half an hour goes by, he falls asleep and has a good dream for a change. He dreams of the days he spent with Olivia in the Philippines last February, right before her first world tour started. Some of the most magical days of their lives – surrounded by delicious food, a whole new culture to learn about and the warmth of the sun. Infinite counted days full of love and passion, where they were the only people in the world.
Even his subconscious knows to hold on to that brief moment of happiness, because he might never live that again.

Collection of my stories: Explained
Here is the post that nobody cares about but I'll share it because I just want the world to know.
1. Demon Academy.
I've posted some things about it already, it's a comic I started in 2014 originally in hungarian. I'm not quite happy with the way I started it, but I've built an interesting world, and I adore the characters, it's one of my best work that I'm very proud of. I drew 260 pages in total (book 1 and book 2) and I intend to pick up the story again sometime soon, when I get over exam season.
Tumblr media
2. Runner
A medieval-themed fantasy story that I eventually want to make into a cartoon series. It's a bit cliché, but the characters are fun, and it has a lot of potential for epic music. I basically came up with the entire plot while listening to fantasy music mixes. Fun times. I've only got some character drawigs, and I just recently managed to finally have eneryone's finalized version. I also have a side story/shared universe thing planned for it.
Tumblr media
3. Xyber-no
A post-apocalyptic cyberpunk futuristic action horror cartoon series idea. I've got the characters done already, and plans for like 2 seasons worth of content, I'm just lazy to edit the 1st ep's script. It's not even 20 minutes long. Honestly I'm just anxious to touch it. Got most of my ideas while listening to Neffex songs.
Tumblr media
4. Racer
I watched Initial-D, and way back I had a roleplay about a car racer dude, and these two motivated me to write this story. It's not really a novel, it resembles more to a script but it's not actually a script. It was mainly dialogue practice, to make the characters feel more fun. I just finished the rewrite like a week ago, I think it turned out pretty great. Planning on adding a part 2 or a season 2 or something like that, but again, too lazy to actually touch it. It's fun to re-read though.
5. Singer
I'm currently working on this story, because when I'm bored, I write. And when is the best time to be bored? Exam season. Hell yeah. Anyway, it's about a suicidal dude falling in love with a singer (also dude, I love my gay kids okay) and then they figure out their shit. Good story to fit in as much angst as possible, with a few lovely fluff parts.
6. ZR series
Most of my followers came from the ZR community, so y'all know what this one is. But in case not, it's a comic series portraying my reactions to various moments that happen in Zombies, Run!, a really fun and creative workout app. The comic is on hold right now because I've already got too much shit to do til christmas. (Such as the Fellow Five drawing I promised. It's not forgotten, I just don't have time!! XD)
Tumblr media
7. Demon and Vampire
Basically an over the top gay fluff love story with a little angst. It's pretty cool, sometimes it's boring, it's full of clichés and stuff, but I read it like 6 times and usually I hate my own writing, but there are parts that I just genuinely love in it. Fun stuff.
8. Psychoville
I've written the first 10 pages in like 30 different versions, because I'm unable to nail it. The main character is the daughter of Satan, who's name is ironically Angel, and she lives in a small town called Psychoville in the desert in Nevada, next to Searchlight, Nevada. As the name implies, she lives with 9 (or 8, I forgot) psychopaths, killers, mass murderers, insane mentally ill people who love each other to bits (and sometimes cut each other to bits) until she gets the task to investigate something for her father away from her home. Got a lot of inspiration from Welcome to Night Vale, and that lawless town in Kansas, I think? The yes theory made a video on it on yt, it's pretty dope.
Tumblr media
9. Hollywood Undead Hungarian Fanfiction
It's just what it is. A fanfic of the boiz going on tour, getting in trouble, drinking and so on. No romance (bc that's gross and I couldn't find any fanfic that was not in some shape or form a ship fanfic). Da Kurlzz was still in the band when I wrote it. I was like 12. I just wanted to have fun. The chapters are 2 pages long in total. But the hungarian fans liked it, was trending a bunch of times on wattpad and it has a lot of reads. Despite being horribly shitty, I'm proud of it, and it has a lot of really fun parts and jokes.
10. Wrong Number
I almost forgot about this gem, but this was my first finished english story. It's almost entirely written in sms text format, it's progressig a bit too quickly, but at the time I was having a lot of fun with it, and that's all that matters. It has some really funny lines I came up with, I like re-reading it just for that. But also, it was a fun way to get around having to write long paragraphs lol. I just wanted to have fun with it. Heavily inspired by the Call me Beep me klance fanfic.
Tumblr media
11. Milky Boiz
Context: my friend and I, at 2am, were thinking about what our ship name would be, but I kept typing "mmmmmilky" in the chat, that turned into milky boiz, and she said, that if we were guys, that would be our ship name. This gave us an idea for a webcomic, which we didn't actually progress with yet, but we do have an insta page where we already posted some of our boiz, you can find it under the name of @ink.stars , go pay a visit, it's my art and my friend's, and she is a wonderful artist and a lovely person and I love her to bits.
Tumblr media
12. Night Vale Steampunk AU
It's pretty much dead, but while I was really actively part of the Night Vale fandom, I started a Steampunk AU. It was fun, it got like 4 chapters or something and big plans, but the characters were not in character, and it lost the Night Vale vibe, so I just let it go.
Tumblr media
13. Cop Comic
Also a dead project of mine, but I still like it. It was inspired by a moment on one of our high school class trips. The characters were based on me and my friends, but the resemblence stops at hair color, that's all. Mabye not even that. Anyway it's what it is: cops dealing with crime and their personal problems. I wish I had known Brooklyn Nine Nine back then, would have been a great help.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
So, there you have it, all my favourite finished and unfinished works/ideas, just so you know if in the future I reference one (planning to post more Runner, DA and Xyber-no content along with the ZR comic)

I LIVE for that Kidge fic you did recently. Like I'm picky. This and one other story for kidge is the only ones I keep coming back to. It;s so well written and emotion based. Ahh I need more you're a gem
So sorry this is a day late! My Tumblr’s been glitching, so I didn’t even know I had this! Haha!
Oh, wow! Thank you SO much! Holy crap, ESPECIALLY if you’re picky, that is a HUGE compliment! You’re SO sweet, AHH! I was so afraid I’d be too rusty for the fic to be any good, but WOW, this really is SUCH an honor! Thank you SO much! I LOVE emotion (I like to call it the backbone of writing), so knowing that it resonated so much with you is SO GREAT!
As for ‘wanting more,’ and WOW, that is a MASSIVE compliment in and of itself, I DO have a possible scenario for when Pidge finds her family written up. I could have sworn I posted it the other night wen I wrote it, but guess I forgot. lol. It’s just a four-page little thing, not totally polished yet, but I’d be glad to post it if you or anyone else would be interested! I also have a small temporarily-blind!Pidge idea blurb I could post, too! Haha! I’ll post at least the former, maybe wait on the latter.
Again, thank you SO much! WOW! This completely made my day, you have NO idea! I believe YOU are the gem here, love, but we can both be! ;D Please feel free to Like/reblog/comment on (in Replies or tags when you reblog) anything I write - or just message me here again, whatever you’d prefer! I’d really love to hear your thoughts on my writing any time! You’re the best! Thank you SO very much!
P.S. And if you or anyone else wants, I’d be happy to take requests! ;D

What I'm Watching June 2016
Here I will post the anime's that I am currently watching or re-watching, of course this does not include simulcasts as they are in a separate category all together. No, this is a list of the (some partially completed) anime that I binge watch. This post is constantly updated, as I tend to go through a single anime in its entirety within a couple of days, so keep your eye out!
6/25 Blood Blockade Battlefront
Tumblr media
Let me get this down now. This anime is visually beautiful, sooooooo much time went into the art and details. Its movie quality beautiful, which is very unusual in a series. So onto the series itself it's about a boy who began living in a post apocalyptic New York after the gates between the human world and the 'monster' world opened. The characters are great, the premise was great, the episodes were great, everything was going wonderfully. Until the anime took an arrow to the knee... Metaphorically of course. So much was left unresolved, and in the last few episodes an obstacle was haphazardly thrown at us. I didn't check the episode count before watching the anime so I was shocked when I found out that there were only 13 (well 12 really) episodes. I get the impression that the studio was initially expecting to do a full 24 ep season considering the pacing of the anime up until episode 10. Evidently this is where the anime diverges quite a bit from the manga itself (my guess is that its unfinished. SOOOOO many anime are left in disappointment because the anime company decides to start a series before the manga has a chance to complete itself leaving the anime with a weird and out of place ending. sigh)
It really is a huge shame that Blood Blockade Battlefront ended the way it did. And its a shame that this recent trend of only creating 'half seasons' has once again resulted in a poor ending. I really liked this anime too, like I said earlier it was amazing. Seriously here's a quote from Toshi Nakamura who wrote a review of the anime itself.
"All in all, Blood Blockade Battlefront was a beautiful jewelry box filled with glittering stones that are individually beautiful, but when you put them on a string to make a necklace, on a whole, they lose a lot of their shine. Plus it feels like some of the most precious gems were left in the box."
My thoughts exactly. Those loose gems left in the box being the other 12 episodes this anime deserved in order to make one complete 24 ep season. I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
Its so hard trying to recommend an anime when the end is a let down. I want people to see it because the first 9 episodes are fabulous, but I don't want to subject an unsatisfactory anime to anyone. Its not like the ending was bad, for how last minute it was, it was pretty well done, and it did make sense. It just wasn't the ending this anime deserved. If your willing to take this on I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the paranormal genre. Maybe it would just be best to read the manga. Its definitely on my list to read.
6/21 Sankarea Undying Love re-watch
Tumblr media
Last time I watched this anime it was in high school after a friend recommended it to me. So I figured why not watch it again? Its a short 12 episode zombie love story. Haha, yup a zombie slice of life love story. In the world of American media, its a really unusual combination of genres, but in anime its no real surprise. I suppose the only real surprise about the anime is the fact that its relatively good, and not at all a harem like High School of the Dead. Its very cute and I think well done. The main female characters father is a total creep and wack-job but that is one of the reasons why he is the main antagonist. For being a zombie anime, its very laid back and you'll find out why as you watch it. Sankarea is an anime that I would recommend to people if I was aware of what kind of anime they liked. If you like the zombie scene but want to watch something not totally gruesome and hyped up, or if you like unusual/ supernatural/ paranormal/ ect. romances I think this is worth a shot.
6/17 Barakamon
Tumblr media
WOW, this was really good. I initially started watching this because Funimation's YouTube channel posts trailers and promo videos for its anime. I watched the promo trailer for the English dub, recognized a lot of the voice actors in it and decided to give it a try. I'm gonna say this now, it's probably the best slice of life anime I have seen. and I mean full on slice of life, no paranormal or fantasy or anything else, it's pure slice of life. Its well written, the episodes flow, and its got a great story and great characters. The premise is that a young 20-something artist calligrapher Seishu punches a man who criticized his work as being unimaginative. As a result Seishu's father sends him to live on a rural island to 'cool his head'. The anime then follows the life of Seishu as he makes unexpected friendships and discovers who he is as an artist.
I just loved this anime, If you like slice of life, yes DEFINITELY watch this. Same if you like watching characters grow and their struggle to discover themselves, or if you like comedy, or if you like realism, or if you want a well made anime to calm down with after watching an emotionally draining one. Even if your not into the genre I recommend you give the first episode a try at least. I was immensely impressed with it.
Oh, and the full series won't be released in English until August 9, 2016, but Funimation is releasing the first two episodes in English on June 28th. I know I will definitely be re-watching this when the full English dub release comes out!!
6/16 Charlotte (re-watch)
Tumblr media
I LOVED this anime when it came out last year. I remember getting to the last few episodes and going to the public library to finish watching it because the power went out in my house. I just finished re-watching it with one of my friends who had never seen it before. Haha, she was mad at me cause she got so invested in it. It is a doozy. But anyway, it follows high school boy Yuu Otosaka who recently became aware of a supernatural ability of his to be able to control a persons body for 5 seconds at a time. After abusing this power to cheat his way into a good high school, a girl named Tomoe catches him and makes him transfer to a school for people with other abilities. It goes on from there showing their lives, introducing characters and fortifying relationships until the REAL plot reveals itself~
If you like supernatural anime this is a really one, full story in only 13 episodes. It also touches up on quite a few 'heavy' topics, which it actually handles really well. I do recommend this to anyone actually, it was my third favourite 2015 anime of the one I watched that year.
(Bonus: I don't know who wrote this or how far into the anime hey were in, but I agree.)
Tumblr media
6/14 50% Off (re-watch)
Tumblr media
Oh man, I love this show. I just watched their two A-kon panels from a few weeks ago, and it's great. Just watch this show, make sure you watch it. Here's a link to my post on my favourite parody/abridge series where I talk about this show more. You don't have to know the original anime to enjoy it (I didn't watch Free until recently), so get on YouTube type it in and get going!
6/13 Princess Jellyfish (re-watch)
Tumblr media
Alright, So now you guys are up to speed on the anime I watched during my vacation, I just started re-watching Princess Jellyfish. Oh man, I completely forgot about this little gem. I first watched it my freshman year of college (two years ago), and LOVED it. It's basically about a household of otaku young women, and one in particular who is in love with jellyfish, who make friends with their arch enemy, a stylish person! Haha, it is hilarious and a great commentary on stereotypes/social norms in Japanese culture (and really many other first world cultures for that matter.) I am having so much fun re-watching this series, it is slice of life so there is not much of an overarching plot so much as it is just following the exploits of the group after becoming friends with said stylish person I mentioned earlier. Each episode flows naturally into the next creating a constant story with each episode having to do with the next. So despite it being a slice of life, there are no filler episodes that forgotten or have nothing to do with anything. it also consistently references pop-culture and media not just from Japan, but from America too. Really, I can't express how great it is. Watch it, you won't regret it.
6/9 & 6/12
HEY! Sorry for the inactivity, I was on vacation out of state. While I was not able to do anything on this site for the past week, I was able to watch a few anime! AND hey are new ones!
So during my summer vay-cay (haha, thats such a terrible word) I watched:
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia
Tumblr media
and Amnesia
Tumblr media
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia was good. It's about a high school boy who makes a friend out of a ghost, Yuuko, who doesn't remember anything from when she was alive. In terms of content, while they do try to figure out how she died and who she is, a good portion is about tellig the story of the two main characters. Doing high school activities, developing relationships, ect. While the anime does frequently talk about the mystery and paranormal throughout these episodes, its not until the end of the series that the mystery of Yuuko ACTUALLY begins being solved, and they find out REAL information of her past. In hindsight, her past and the climax of the series is thrust upon you towards the end. It would have been better in my opinion if the events and info were more evenly dispersed throughout each episode from the beginning. I still really liked this anime, though I'm not sure as to how good it is. If your into the sort of subdued paranormal scene, then you may want to give this a shot. Its short, its sweet, I really liked learning about Yuuko's past when it finally got around to it, and I personally really liked it. But again, if you like the paranormal, you may like this. If your not into paranormal stuff, then I wouldn't recommend it.
Now Amnesia was a whole different box of pillows. By that I mean body pillows, and by that I mean I am sure that there area tons available. Why? Because this short anime was adapted from a dating sim called Amnesia: Memories. I wish I had known that before I started watching it, but no matter. In terms of dating sim adaptations, it's pretty good. In terms of an anime, not so much. The premise for both the anime and the game is that you are a girl who just woke up and knows absolutely nothing about herself, where she is, or who anyone else is. She has, you guessed it, amnesia. Amnesia caused by a fairy 'bumping' into her? which doesn't make too much sense. (but hey at least it wasn't because she performed horrific acts of manslaughter, created a patchwork monster, and played a huge part in nearly destroying humanity all so Alexander could become godlike, am I right?) Anyway, she wakes up and begins jumping alternate worlds in which she is dating different guys, thus the dating sim part comes in. In therms of the anime itself, the plot is a little wobbly waiting until the last 2 or 3 episodes to actually explain her true past and give a substantial story line. Because in the game, the female character and her name/personality is you, the anime version of her is left 'blank' for self insertion. Making a poor main character being pushed to and fro. But I will tell you this the music was REALLY good, the opening, closing and background music were absolutely fantastic. SO, if you have played this game and enjoyed it then I would definitely recommend it. If you have not, and have absolutely no interest in self-insertion romance, then its not worth the watch for the plot. Although I did like it myself. It's a good addition to my, quote-unquote, "trash anime" (watch out for a post in the maybe near future). Basically a list of guilty pleasure anime which are terrible when it comes to plot and characters, but I just can't resist. Its like reading trashy romance novels, but better and worse at the same time.
6/5 Red Data Girl (re-watch)
Tumblr media
Another re-watch, maybe June will be a month of oldies~ (at least for me). RDG is an adorable anime, its a short 12 ep, one season series based off the Japanese novels of the same title. 6 novels (no official translation, but this person on tumblr has been translating them in their spare time), 4 manga novel adaptations, and one anime as mentioned. I'm not familiar with the novels or manga, but I do know that the anime covers most but not all of the novels. One person said it covers the first 5 novels but that's it. Anyway, the anime is super cute, and I really like the premise. My only issue is that the end felt like the completion of a smaller story arch within a larger one. Leaving no REAL ending, you can't even argue that the end is open to interpretation because they didn't leave you wondering what happened, they leave you without ever continuing the main story arch. Without explaining the endless questions that rose with the intention of it being resolved later. Hopefully the manga will give me some solace but with 4 books, i'm not sure if it will... I really like it, and I really wish it would continue.
oh btw, as of right now it's available on netflix, the English voice acting is ok, its not bad, but its also not great. The voice actors are able to but the right voice out, but not give the voice the emotion that the words give. I greatly prefer the Japanese voice acting, but I'm able to live with the English if I'm multi-tasking. (random note: the ending theme is super pretty. Actually, a lot about this anime is pretty)
6/2 Blue Exorcist Movie TOP PICK FOR THIS MONTH (new)
Tumblr media
The movie has nothing to do with the plot of the anime at all, and takes place after the events in the series. Atleast I'm fairly certain it does? There's an important (and spoiler-y) thing that happens at the end of the series, that is never addressed or acknowledged in the movie which I think is really weird..... Either way, the movie itself is simply a completely stand alone story from the series. And it was absolutely stunning! Sooooo much detail went into all of the backgrounds and items. On top of that its very well scripted, and the plot flowed incredibly well together without being convoluted, which is surprising since a number of movie sequels to tv series's tend to go overboard by stuffing too much information into an hour and a half.
It was amazing. Its possible that someone could watch the movie without watching the single season anime, just because of how it was written. However you would not know the relationships or the back story of the main character, which helps to explain a lot of the terminology and setting. Especially the part about demons ect ect.
Either way, I LOVED this movie. I didn't even know that there was a movie at all until just now. I'm going to re-watch it with a friend when she gets back into town and I am soooooo excited because I KNOW she will love it too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I RECOMMEND THIS SO HARD.
6/1 Blue Exorcist (re-watch)
Tumblr media
Well I can't sleep, so what better opportunity than this to re-watch Ao no Exorcist in the English dub~ Ah, I love this anime. Its funny, has great main characters, a good story and writing, and I seem to have a week spot for exorcist anime's, haha. Man, I remember watching this when it first came out in high school, I have a distinct memory of watching one of the later episodes before going to one of my friends concerts. There was a movie made about a year later, AAAAAND a series of specials. Oh, man the movie was so amazing. It has nothing to do with the plot of the anime at all, in fact the anime wrapped up everything rather nicely. The Movie itself is simply another story in cinematic format. It was absolutely beautiful, well made, well scripted, and the plot flowed incredibly well together without being convoluted. Would 100% recommend.
Oh, right! The dub isn't that bad, I mean I wish they had a different voice actor for Rin, I just don't feel like this one really lives up to the character. The other voice actors are great though, really fit the characters. The dub is well done, but I think I preferred the Japanese voice actors (they have a better pick than we do.) I just think that someone with a slightly lower, more thug-ish voice would have been better. The English actors voice is a little too high for me, it's even higher than Yukio's voice ._.
6/1 Black Butler (re-watch)
Tumblr media
I decided to re-watch the show (minus the second season) after writing up my post from yesterday about anime whose second season could just go and disappear from existence. I love Sebastian, he is a saint, well a saint among devils. Not only is he one hell of a butler, but one hell of a contractor too, he REALLY get into his jobs, and it is amazing. Even I would enter into a contract if I could have him as a butler~ It's a goon anime, not sure if its recommendation worthy though. I mean yes it's good but it's not something that you HAVE to see, or something you would be missing out on. It's surprisingly fun and while it can and does get intense in certain areas, its not so intense that its going to mess you up.  As long as you never touch the second season, NEVER.
