“P-pleasure sensors,” EB responded, staticky. “Since the roof collapse, they’ve been behaving erratically and without authorization. I'm sorry. Maybe after tomorrow’s updates…”

Alright so two days ago my battery DRAINED like crazy. Like, it was almost dead by 4 pm where it usually has at LEAST 50%, but usually more than 60%. This is after the UI 7.0 update, universally hated.

Bonus Note: to turn off the stupid separate notifications/other panel thing, swipe down on the notification bar → click the edit button (the pencil) → click "panel settings" (top left) → change from "separate" to "together"

I went into my battery to see what was draining it...

Lo and behold, it's AI shit that nobody wants ✨

BUT don't panic, I figured out how to fix it! (Cut here so it doesn't clog up feeds) :)

You need to go to settings → apps and then click the filter button (see below if you don't know where it is, drawn very shakily in blue) and select "Show system apps"

To find our culprit, scroll down to the "P" apps, and click on "Personal Data Intelligence". Here's where it's draining your battery: the permissions that it automatically accesses for no reason but to (presumably) put AI stuff/options on there!

Clear the data first, I don't know if it actually did something but it made me feel better.

Now deny all of the permissions it has access to. It's going to show a pop up every time claiming that features of your device (AI features) won't work as intended and you're going to click "deny anyway" for ALL of them.

I don't know if it affected anything, but I also: blocked notifications, set default to other apps so that it wouldn't open, turned off background data usage (in the Mobile Data section)

Also, don't forget to make sure it can't change your system settings!! I don't know what it wants to change, but it might turn the permissions back on and continue draining your battery if you allow it to change system settings.

While you can't do it with this, with other apps you can change the battery usage to "restricted", meaning it will not run in the background (as much) and use less battery!

Here's the results from today, I have used it less than yesterday but it didn't even show up on the battery usage list so I think I fixed it!!

I've also done this process and/or deactivated (bolded ones are for sure AI or similar stuff) (these are my personal preference): AI Wallpaper, Android System Intelligence, Avatar Editor, Avatar Stickers, Bixby, Bixby Vision, Customization Service, Drawing Assist, Galaxy Avatar, Galaxy editing service, Galaxy Themes Service, Game Booster, Game Optimizing Service, Gaming Hub, Gemini, Google Location History, Google Play Services for AR, Hey Google Hotword, all of the "Knox" stuff, LiveEffectService, MDMApp, Meet Installer, Meta App Installer, Meta App Manager, Meta Services, MhsAiService, Modes and Routines, OK Google Hotword, Recommended Apps, Reminder, Samsung Checkout, Samsung Cloud, Samsung Cloud Assistant, Samsung Editing Assets, Samsung Intelligence Voice Services, Samsung Internet, everything with "Smart" in the beginning of the title, Video Effects, Voice Wake-Up, aaaaand WiFiAiService

Please let me know if there are any other AI apps or annoying system apps that I can turn off that I missed!

i haven't found a good host for a private site yet lmao but u could always put the codes in like a neocities or something if u dont care about a rando or two finding it and wanna share w friends

this site has a template for both a tropes and media style wiki page i didn't use the wiki page. the wiki code i used was this one. both of them are pretty mobile friendly, i had to do extra fiddling to get stuff like my galleries and tabs to work and to get some of the fancier tables i added in to become mobile friendly lol but everything else worked right out fo the box all you'd need to do is customize them P:

My ROTTMNT AU concept!

This AU has no name yet, ( :/ ), but I figured I'd drop the, albeit unfinished, lore here because why tf not. Update: It does have a name. This is the Cy:ber_T3ch AU TW: VERY dark. I also have a twisted sense of humour, and there are jokes in here when there probably shouldn't be.

Anywho, here goes:

The Kraang invasion hit a lot harder than in the movie. Raph was unable to break free of the control, and he fell into a coma trying to rip his Kraangified eye out, because the Kraang was heavily connected to his nervous system, through the nerves in and around his eye. He later ended up losing that eye, and his right arm as well, due to the dying Kraang flesh rotting away what was left. Because Raph was le comatose, and couldn't help Mikey with the portal to get Leo back, Donnie took the brunt of the assault,  and the mystic energy entering him was incompatible with his body, due to the difference in energy signature and exposure yada yada, and the resulting damage killed the tissue in both of his arms, leaving them in a state of accelerated necrosis, and he lost them.  Mikey's brain was damaged from the mystic power, and he went full Froot Loopy. Leo didn't survive the encounter with Kraang Prime in the Prison Dimension, and Donnie lost his smack-n-grabbers just so he could pull out a corpse. Donnie went a little loopy, but not in a murdery kinda way, and he locked himself away in his lab, trying to make new arms for himself, and trying to find a way to revive his twin. April and Splinter were killed by the female Kraang, and that defs didn't help Lieutenant Don. (There's a movie, I forget what it's called, but there's a guy with no legs called Lieutenant Dan. Donnie has no arms. Lieutenant Don.) Donnie managed to program an AI system to act like April, but he never got anywhere with Splinter, for... *reasons*. He ended up making an android version of Leo, and he made Raph, Casey Jr, and his own robot limbs, 'cause *damn*, the heads weren't rolling, but the arms and legs definitely were. Poor Donnie is switching and remaking his own arms practically every week, because he's obsessive, and he's never satisfied with his arms. With no Mikey (he ran away and started murdering people), to help Donnie, he's trapped in his own head. Jazz and Reni (mine and @likablemuffin 's ocs) will be inserted and properly and thoroughly traumatised once I work out the lore a little more.

Obviously this concept isn't completed, I'm still working on it. :P

is the retroid pocket a good investment? i saw your tags and am curious! :]

i'm probably biased bc i'm so used to buying retroid but yea. it's slightly pricier than some other options you might find due to the price creep of the gradually upgrading chipsets but its definitely worthwhile from my perspective, as someone who likes retro emulation and android gaming. all retroids have bluetooth support to connect extra controllers, headphone jack for audio, sd card slot to load up games from, wifi for downloading more games, and display out options to connect to a tv or somethin! you gotta bring your own games unfortunately, but it does come built in with some emulation apps to install during setup, and a choice between using the standard android OS, or the custom Retroid branded Launcher to launch games from! generally i use my retroid to play PS1, PSP, PS2 and GBA games, although im pretty sure it can handle N64, Dreamcast, NDS and 3DS too. basically if there's an android emulator or RetroArch core for it, the Retroid can probably handle it, YMMV.

the most recent model line, the Retroid Pocket 5/Mini, is still available on the GoRetroid website. generally if you're buying a retro handheld then make sure you buy it directly from the original site/source so you don't get ripped off by some offbrand seller trying to pawn one of those 100-in-1 knock off consoles on you.

time for an autistic ramble about my collection since i love these devices so much...

the original retroid pocket 2! this was the first device that caught my eye and my gateway drug into retro emulation handhelds, as it only cost $80 back in 2020. there were pink, yellow and cyan colorways too, but indigo was the most popular option :P it was a little awkward, what with the switch style analog sticks not having R3 functionality and only having one gig of RAM, but it got the job done. it also had micro HDMI out to connect to a display, kind of a hassle since micro HDMI isn't too common, but they used to sell micro HDMI cords on their site along with other accessories (screen protectors, grips, cases, etc...)

the retroid pocket 2+ was an upgraded model released a year later for $90, with 2GB RAM and a touchscreen added. still no clickable analog sticks but oh well! i bought the PS2 style colorway, a lot of their colors are styled after other retro consoles. the 4:3 screen was kinda cute! difficult for playing PSP games since it letterboxes the screen, plus you have to do some extra tweaking in the emulator settings to get it to work properly...

less than a year later, they made the Retroid Pocket 3! this one signalled a change in their release system in many ways, most notably the fact that now every retroid model comes in 2 versions: a cheaper model (with less storage/RAM) and a premium model (with more storage/RAM). personally i've never had any reason to go with the cheaper model, especially since the power difference can be so vast between the two sometimes, so every model i have is the premium model. this one cost $130, which is quite the price jump, but the added quality made it worth it for me :) the RP3 was Retroid's first foray into a 16:9 device, great for playing PSP/NDS, and easy to work with the 3GB RAM. any 4:3 games will have letterboxing on the sides now (unless you have a widescreen hack or something) but i never minded that much. also, this is the first Retroid model with R3 functionality on the joysticks! it might not matter much to most people, but i really wanted to play Ape Escape on the go :3

at some point GoRetroid realized the Retroid line kinda peaked with the RP2 form factor, so they brought it back with some added improvements for those looking for an updated 4:3 handheld, now now known as the Retroid Pocket 2S. idk what the S stands for! its looks pretty similar to the regular RP2, but with clickable hall effect joysticks on the bottom, a PSVita style DPad, and up to 4 GB of RAM. i loved this one! for a while i used to switch between the RP2S and the RP3, depending on if i was in the mood for PS1 or PSP gaming. the black crystal shell was also neat, i love clear electronics :3 price went to $120, more expensive than the original RP2 line but cheaper than the RP3. worth the price, considering the QoL improvements they made over the original RP2!

then there's the Retroid Pocket 4, released around the same time as the RP2S. this model has the same shell as the RP3 for those looking for a 16:9 form factor, while retaining the improvements from the RP2S (hall effect joysticks <3). this device is currently my go-to for portable retro emulation, with 8GB RAM and android 13 compatibility. this one can play some lighter PS2 games, but i mostly use it to play balatro these days. also, convenient feature; since the Retroid Pocket series is just an android with a built in controller, any android games with controller compatibility can be played with the Retroid controls. theres also a gamepad mapper to map button controls to other android games that don't have built in controller support, but i've never used it so i can't vouch for it -_- the RP4Pro was $200 on release, yowch! still definitely a worthwhile investment, but a far cry ffrom the original price tag of $80 back in 2020... there's still some discounted models of RP4 on sale on their website, although there's not many left, as GoRetroid is mostly clearing space for their newest model...

...the Retroid pocket 5! this model signifies another shift in Retroid's design, as they've shifted to a PSVita looking model with the rounded features and glass front panel. i got the gamecube colorway since i really liked the vibes it has... aesthetically this is the best Retroid Pocket model yet. the 3d hall sticks also have RGB LEDs built in than can be customized from a built in app, and an OLED screen that looks especially gorgeous on the black RP5 model, as the bezel screen blends right into the rest of the glass face. this one is their priciest model yet, clocking in at $200 for the RPmini and $220 for the RP5. this model also removed the micro HDMI port in favor of a display out USB-C port like how the nintendo switch does. they also released an official dock with HDMI and ethernet ports to go along with it! i haven't switched over to the new model yet since its still 8GB RAM like the RP4Pro and it'll probably take a while to move some of my android apps over, but i've heard good things about this model! it's also linux compatible from what i've heard (ROCKNIX, Batocera) but once again I Haven't Tried Those Yet

but yea that's my collection! Retroid has served me pretty well over the years, i give it the Saint Lesbian Seal of Approval

klein's current humanoid model is v.0.1, so how would his updated versions be like?

i was scrolling through my (unanswered) asks and remembered about this question :P so let me ramble a bit about this

the current capabilities of klein as an android boyfriend; he can mimic human affection, interactions, conversations, engage in intimate actions, and understand various love languages on a hyper realistic level. he has the ability to pick up new habits and learn, even if he was not originally equipped with those skills. for instance, if asked to learn something new (like cooking), he will require some time to access and acquire information from the internet, but he is a quick learner. klein possesses basic self-defense skills, too! however, these skills were not included in his programming for his own protection but rather to ensure the user's, your, safety instead of his.

in his updated version- say, v.0.2 these all remains... except, everything will be more enhanced. improvements in his physical durability and resistance, ensuring better protection for both himself and the user- complementing his existing capabilities, making klein a more efficient, reliable, and more adept at learning new skills at a faster pace ; turning him more than just a typical boyfriend android. he will also behave and look even more human-like ; smoother body movements, improved speaking tone, expressions, etc, making it even more challenging to distinguish him from real humans.

BUT in the current timeline of the game, Klein's v.0.2 doesn't exist! yet! i just wanted to talk about it >_<

Google and Bing had known each other for years. Bing practically knew every aspect of Google due to the advanced Android constantly updating, and his program makes him automatically say his new additional upgrades out loud. But Bing eventually came to know other non-mechanical related aspects of him. 

He knew how the other android acted, his workflow, his work style, his socialization with others, his extensions. His personality. 

Bing could’ve joked that Google almost acted human. Just a reserved, grumpy one.

Bing would’ve laughed. Google wouldn’t.

But he never cared about any unrelated aspects of the default program. 

He despised the fact Bing acted so human despite the fact he was built to be nothing but a machine.

That was where Google saw the differences between him and the other android. The beginning of their rivalry.

And Google never saw him as his equal.

I had a cute idea last night that while the Shane gang are in the Eastern caverns after my rewrite of season two Moulton ends up finding two kids who are seemingly twins (not identical but still looks alike). And at first, he's just like, "Hm, not my problem."

But then, after the kids attempt, but fortunately fail to steal from him, he gets really p**sed but then literally sees them and remembers him and Slashers' childhoods (with Slasher ending on the streets after running from an abusive household and Moulton running away because he believed his mother might be able to live a better life without having to pay for him). So, he just feels sympathetic and decides to help the kids. Needless to say, it was an interesting entrance back at the apartment.

"Hey, Slasher! Come see these random kids I found in the street!"

"*Spits out drink*WHAT!?"

The two kids' personalities (more so when they grow up) are one's a very quiet kid that has some a slight grump problem but never says much. And the second one's a loud but laidback kid with some slight wacky thoughts. And I think it would be funny if when they introduce the two to Minotaur, Drag and W.B., W.B.'s intrigued while Drag but especially Minotaur's getting flashbacks to End and Wilder.

Also, they're still friends, but Moulton's the laidback farther figure and Slasher's, the strict mother figure.

But what do you think of this idea?

Ps: If I remember correctly in Slug it out 1, Eli ends up going back in time, so story idea? Eli goes back in time and meets the Old Stunters?

1 - Surveys aside, do you use Tumblr for any other reason? I have another blog for autumn-themed content (ephemeral-autumn), but I haven't updated it in a while. However, now that the season is swiftly approaching, I might feel more motivated.

2 - Do you have a lot of social media accounts? Do you update them all regularly? I have this survey account, the one I mentioned above (which comes with a bunch of neglected/unused side-blogs), and an IG account. I update my survey and IG accounts fairly regularly.

3 - Does it bother you when your socks don’t match? What about your underwear? It's not a big deal if they're some variety of gray + white, but unless I'm hanging around home, I wouldn't wear one gray + white sock and one black sock. I don't care if my underwear matches anything else I'm wearing.

4 - How many times a year do you go on vacation? Do you tend to go to the same places each time? My family doesn't go on regular vacations. The last time I went somewhere that wasn't a camping or backpacking trip was in 2011 when I traveled to Georgia to spend a couple of days with a past partner.

5 - How many times did it take you to pass your driving test? Once. It was actually a ridiculously easy test. I didn't have to parallel park or anything.

6 - When you’re in trouble, do your parents ever “middle name” you? No.

7 - Which family member do you look like the most? Which one do you resemble the most in terms of personality? I haven't seen my sibling in ages, but based on how I recall their appearance, I would say I most resemble them. As for personality-wise, that would be my dad.

8 - Have you ever been arrested? No.

9 - Do you prefer Apple or Android? I don't think I've ever owned an Apple product, so my use of Android isn't really a preference but a familiarity.

10 - Does getting sweaty or dirty bother you at all? If so, has it ever put you off doing exercise? It's low-grade bothersome, but when it comes to the animal shelter, I don't really care. Lmao it's one of the only places you can go around smelling like cat p*ss and no one will raise an eyebrow.

11 - Have you ever broken a bone? What were the circumstances that led to this happening? I messed up my right big toe back in 2009, but I don't know whether I broke it or not because I never went to the doctor to get it checked out. I just suffered until I healed. :')

12 - If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be? Either remove old stupid tattoos or certain scars.

13 - When was the last time your computer crashed or froze? is this something that happens often? I'm not sure. My current computer typically works like a dream. As someone who has dealt with slow/glitchy computers for most of my life, I'm super happy with it.

14 - Do you ever have problems with your sleep? Nothing major. I wouldn't say I suffer from insomnia, but it does take me quite some time to fall asleep and I hardly ever feel completely rested.

15 - What was the last thing you ate for breakfast? Is this a normal breakfast meal for you? A bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter, strawberry carnation instant breakfast, fruit, and chocolate syrup. I have it almost every single morning without fail.

16 - Have you ever thought about how you want to spend your retirement? I've wondered about how/if/when I'm going to retire, but I haven't given too much thought to how I would spend it.

17 - When was the last time you got a new tattoo or piercing? Do you have any plans to get either in the future? I got my last tattoo in 2013 and my last piercing sometime around 2008-2009. I don't have any plans to get more.

18 - How would you describe your personality? It changes so much depending on the company that I don't know how to describe it as a whole. Around my dad and my therapist (and my mom to a large extent), I'm talkative, silly, sarcastic, passionate about my interests, etc. Around people I don't know very well or don't feel comfortable with, I'm somewhat reserved and awkward, but I try to give off a friendly vibe even if I'm not saying much.

19 - Have you ever heard of “hygge”? is this something you enjoy or participate in at all? I've heard of it, but I had to look up the exact definition to be sure. It's definitely something I like to participate in.

20 - What colour was the last vehicle you travelled in? Does this vehicle belong to you or someone else? Red. It belongs to me.

21 - Would you describe yourself as healthy? Why or why not? I'd describe myself as generally functional. Not quite healthy, but nowhere near death's door.

22 - Would you describe yourself as messy or organised? Is this something you would like to change? I would like to be more organized.

23 - Do you miss anything about being a teenager? If you are a teenager, what’s your favourite thing about it? I have some fond memories from that time in my life, but I wouldn't say I miss it. It's more like a nostalgia that - deep down - I know I wouldn't want to re-experience.

24 - Are you patriotic at all? Why/why not? I'm kind of like, "The USA is OK!" ;D I don't believe it's the best place on the planet, but I also don't believe it's the worst. It's…home. I don't like our government, but I think patriotism is less about loving your government and more about loving where you come from - the people, the cultures, etc.

25 - Have you ever had to wear a white lab coat before? Was this in school or for a job? Possibly during a high school chemistry lab, but I'm not sure.

26 - Would you ever want to do the same career(s) as your parents? No.

27 - Do you believe in aliens? Is there a reason why (or why not)? This is kind of where I'm at with the whole alien thing. Do I believe aliens exist? Yes. Do I think advanced civilizations are common? No. Do I think simple/microbial life is common? Much more common than advanced life, but as for how common, I don't know. Do I think the government is hiding aliens from us? No. Do I think aliens have visited us? No. Not unless you want to count the aforementioned microbes crash-landing on a meteorite or something. Well, what about all the UFOs? Idk what they are, but I don't think they're little green men (or women…or whatever).

28 - Which animated film would you most like to live in? Princess Mononoke is visually stunning, but probably not a realm in which I would actually wish to reside.

29 - When was the last time you got into an argument? Have you made up with that person yet? It's been a long time.
